Lackadaisy x Boardwalk Empire crossover...!
As I've been rewatching the series, I really wanted to try depicting some of the Boardwalk Empire characters as cats that could fit into the Lackadaisy universe - and if there was one thing I was sure of, it was that Nucky Thompson would be a hairless cat! I mean... just look at the guy.
Sadly I don't think I quite did either series justice since my expertise is Cute Anime Girls and not life drawing or cartoon cats, but! I still had a lot of fun doing Something A Little Different and hope to try my hand with a few other cast members as well ^^

this has probably been pointed out before, but i noticed something interesting about nucky's character.
in 5x03, mabel mentions the biblical figure of enoch when she first meets nucky:
this interpretation seems to come from a new testament verse:
by faith enoch was taken up so that he should not see death; and he was not found because god took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to god. (hebrews 11:5)
then, later on in the episode, nucky tells joseph kennedy this:
considering the very common "to live on in people's memories is to be immortal" trope, the parallel becomes even more obvious.
we don't know whether nucky's wish came to be independently of what mabel told him; but in any case, the biblical reference makes it even more tragic and ironic: the reason enoch enjoyed eternal life was because he was a god-fearing man, a far cry from nucky's gangster life — and he's barely given any time to repent before being killed by tommy. in the end, the only things nucky leaves behind are basically a trail of death and intergenerational trauma.
anyway i find it nice when writers use names to give additional depth to their characters aha.
