The Halloween just before the bombs fell Shaun was only ~5 months old and an entry in a cut terminal says Nora was going to put him in a devil costume -what foreshadowing! So, this is a scenario where the bombs didn't fall and he got a second Halloween at a year and a half old, hence he's a little bigger. If only it were true and they had all had more time together...

I've been doing a playthrough of Fallout 4 without fast travel, and am doing as many faction/side quests as I possibly can. Basically I'm taking the main quest as slow as possible.

Only 175 hours in and I've finally met Shaun :]

SOMETHING is nerfing him and idk what!!! so hes just so fucking oblivious to everything all the time #anyways. rambled enough. i just got excited cus i got to meet shaun and he looks. not gonna lie! a little bit bad. didnt get the best genes #sorry son

Fallout OC Questionnaire

2) Which faction(s) did they join and which did they destroy? Why?

Alicia joined the Minutemen and the Institute. For the first part of her journey she planned to destroy the Institute for taking Shaun. Upon learning Shaun is Father she sided with them, including their plan to make a ‘replacement’ of her to infiltrate the Railroad.

Evie has quite a journey. She started off as Institute supportive until she started doubting her ‘non-humanity’. Once she helped on her first package run (H2-22 in Boston After Dark) she went rogue. She wears Alicia’s identity as a mask whilst working with the Minutemen and sided with the Railroad.

Ultimately they both side with the Railroad and the Minutemen to destroy the Institute. I’m unsure what’ll happen to the Brotherhood but needless to say they aren’t on the same side.

3) What is their S.P.E.C.I.A.L.?

All of Evie’s stats are higher than Alicia because she’s had more experience in the wasteland (the equivalent of levelling up). I think Alicia would have a higher intelligence after her time in the Institute and Evie would have a higher Charisma from both Deacon teaching her how to read people better and just being a recognised face in the Commonwealth. So...

10) What do they fear the most?

They are both scared of failure. To be a disappointment. Alicia is scared of being a disappointment to Nate, to Shaun, to Preston and the Minutemen. Evie has the ironic bonus of being terrified of betrayal. She’s scared of what her betrayal will do to her friends in the Railroad and she doesn’t want the same happening to her.

14) What’s their zodiac sign or which one do you think they relate to the most? What are their placements (if you know them)? (ex. Aries sun, Taurus moon, Aquarius Venus)

Alicia is a Capricorn (January 12th)

Evie is a Taurus (May 12th)

19) What natural alignment are they? (ex. Lawful Good, Chaotic Evil)

Evie I’d say is somewhere between neutral good and chaotic neutral, but mostly chaotic good. She tries her best to help everyone with the resources that the Minutemen and Railroad provide to her and is quite self sacrificing when she needs to be.

Alicia is neutral good whilst with the Minutemen and True Neutral whilst with the Institute. She does keep the morals she has from the Minutemen but buries them deep to help Shaun.

26) How do they come off to others? What first impression do they usually make?

In both cases it’d depend on how you meet them.

As a ally you’d see kind eyes and a warm smile.

As an enemy you’d see from determination. They have people to protect and damn them if they won’t try their best.

Alicia gives off warmth whilst topside. She is a friendly face as long as you don’t try to hurt anyone she loves. She comes off as a little gullible at first. In the Institute she’s a little closed off. Duller eyes and less smiles.

Evie has a slight guard to her eyes. It’s subtle, easily explained by wasteland experience, though around people she trusts that edge just melts.

42) Their opinions on ghouls, feral and not feral?

Alicia was terrified of ferals when she first got out. She had no clue what they were so panicked and thought they were zombies. To be honest she was terrified with everything except Radstags and Brahmin after leaving the vault.

Evie is scared of ferals in the sense that they’re a potential threat. That said, Evie’s first experience with ferals after joining the Railroad was that random encounter with the SoSu’s old neighbours and that gave her quite a breakdown and identity crisis.

Neither of them have a negative opinion of ghouls. Both want to stop the discrimination against them because, to them, they’re just people.

51) Anything they like to collect? (ex. Unique weapons, Bobbleheads)

Both of them collect ‘Quest Items’. There’s a safe in the Sanctuary house filled with things like Kellogg’s gun, MacCready’s soldier, and Deacon’s recall code. They both also collect bobbleheads and comics.

1. Nate spent the first few months in the wasteland actively refusing to believe in mirelurks.

At the time Piper was teasing his post-War inexperience incessantly. She had a blast fabricating off-the-wall Commonwealth customs and creatures just to mess with him. Since he managed to somehow never ACTUALLY see a mirelurk in all that time, he certainly wasn’t gonna take Piper’s word about mutant man-eating crabs. Or anyone else’s, because they were clearly just in on the conspiracy. He learns that mirelurks do, in fact, exist when the Minutemen retake the Castle (yeah, with that mirelurk) and the only real way to describe how the revelation felt for him is:

2. Nate struggled to bond with kid Shaun after the Institute was destroyed.

He couldn’t leave the kid behind, of course, but Father changing the synth’s memories to think he was Nate and Nora’s actual kid and having the gall to posthumously ask that Nate care for the synth as if it were true was... a lot to unpack. Especially after the literal nuclear meltdown that was Nate and Father’s falling out, and the ultimate end of the Institute. Kid Shaun lives at the Castle under Preston’s guardianship and for a while Nate kept a firm emotional distance. The walls finally start to come down when Nate overhears Shaun singing an old song he could only have picked up from Nate. Eventually he comes to care for the kid as fiercely as though they were flesh and blood.

3. Nate, Piper, and (sometimes) Deacon play a highly competitive game of “Duck and Cover.”

You know the floor is lava thing? When one of these nerds yells “Duck and Cover!” the others have to drop what they’re doing and flop behind cover in the most overtly dramatic way possible. Deacon did it in RRHQ once, Tom fainted and Des practically drug all three of them out by their ears

He has a large scar on his left arm (shoulder to elbow) he doesn’t really like talking about. It looks like a knife wound, though.

He’s terrified of loud noises, people moving too fast, door slamming, and spiders. Usually he clings to Blair when he gets scared, but failing that he’ll zip up his bomber jacket and zone out for a bit.

Not many rumours floated around about Nate, but that’s more because he was an invisible sort of guy. Not really here or there.

🧠 

He stims a lot, often fidgeting when he’s stressed or worried - but make him happy enough and he’ll flap his hands excitedly, occasionally getting the giggles if he’s excited enough. Blair finds it really cute, especially when he kisses one of his sweet spots and gets him super happy.

He does however have a hard time accepting change, often blaming himself for circumstances very much out of his control. When Shaun is taken, Nate’s absolutely destroyed - and blaming himself for being a “terrible father” and letting him go when Kellogg threatened him.

He thinks a lot about Mandy... for the worse, usually.

Childhood-wise though, he’ll always remember the day his father gave him his first holotape game, the first thing Nate doing was copying the game to the family terminal and wondering why it wouldn’t work.

Name: Nate Sosu Nickname/Alias: Charmer (Railroad) Gender: (slightly GNC but mostly in private) Cis man (he/him) Star sign: Aquarius (February 18, 2045) Height: 6’0” Orientation: Bi + poly Nationality: American (white) Favourite fruit: Cherries and Pineapple Favourite season: Summer Favourite flower: Dandelions Favourite scent: Grass Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate: Coffee Average hours of sleep: Not enough. He has trouble sleeping due to PTSD. Dog or cat person: Dog person, because he loves to play with them. Dream trip: Nate's the kind of person who cares less for a location specifically but more for who he is with while visiting. Dream trip: Jack travelled all over every corner of Appalachia a lot during the years after getting out of vault 76, and doesn't have much incentive to want to go anywhere else, since he had so little life experience before going in and so much to do after getting out. He doesn't really think about travel on a wider scale. He also can't be sure how people would react to his unique mutations, so he feels safer sticking close to home just for that alone. If you asked he'd probably say something simple and sappy like hiking up to a high, nature filled point to watch the sunrise or some shit with a very unenthused Beckett. Number of blankets they’d choose to sleep with: One. He generates a lot of body heat so he's all good on that front, and his house tends to be pretty cozy. Random fact: He came from a large family, and several of them did survive past the bombs. Still figuring out if he ever actually meets any of them again though.

Fair warning in advance: this is an oc post

I didn’t know if I was going to post this for two reasons; one, picsart is not my friend and I didn’t have a stylus so what you see is done by my magical finger + two, who cares lol. Buuut, if you do care feel free to read my little synopsis about these two.

Anyway, so these are two of my fallout ocs. I’ve already done an introduction post for Jasper, a courier of mine, however I have yet to introduce Margot. Originally she was a stand-alone Sole Survivor but as I developed her more I realized that I liked her dynamic alongside Jasper and so like any sane person, I rearranged their entire independent livelihoods and forced them to become brother & sister.

Because of this I had to create a timeline of when major things happen for both of them. Margot leaves a trail of good deeds behind her as she heads east and Jasper does his thing in Vegas for a while before remembering he has a sister again.

And yes, my idiot courier managed to woo Arcade. It wasn’t very hard for him.

As for Margot’s involvement in the Commonwealth, she becomes the General just before Nate exits Vault 111. Because of her title and influence, she wants to assist him in finding his son, Shaun, as much as she can. I picture her acting as a companion to the SoSu in this instance.

The battle of the Institute would happen before Jasper and Arcade make it to the Commonwealth. They arrive just after Nate’s disappearance (cue dramatic sound effect) and eventually get tied up in Boston drama that only Margot can resolve.

But I dont talk about my OCs and Stories a lot so here's a little snip bit of a few of them -(Detective Story, yet to be named) We’ve got monster hunter turned supernatural detective Al and his ex Mortimer, a power-hungry ghost, they broke up because Mortimer’s kind of a prick who needed (and still needs) a blow to his ego. Al’s got a new love interest in the form of a character who I still desperately need to name but basically hes a casino owning vampire thats a one of Al’s info dealers and is head over heals for the Detective while the mans totally oblivious. -(Superhero story, Also needs a name) Two vigilantes, Snow Owl (her power is she can change her arms into large white wings) and Freeze Queen (Shes got typical ice powers), They’re a crime fighting duo. -(Out of Space) Sci-Fi badass space General who I just call the Captain right now and her plucky friend Diego the Artist (and Wizard though some would disagree)            Thats just some, god I should really talk about my OCs more 2) Last Song I’ve been listening to “Give and Take” by Poor Mans Poison on repeat as I desperately try and story board an animation Ill probably never make in my brain :’] 3) Currently Watching Been watching Columbo (the old Detective show) recently, Gianni Matragrano’s channel turned me on to it, its actually pretty good :D
