Paladin Danse is not a fan of mutants. He hates ferals and supers and refuses to get along with Strong or Hancock. In Fo4 you are able to make your toon into a mutant, not visually but gameplay wise. Aquaboy lets you breath underwater and makes you immune to water radiation(which I always headcanoned to give you gils that seal tight to your throat when not in the water), Ghoulish which lets radiation heal you as well as makes random ferals friendly on occasion as well as Solar-powered which allows you to use sunlight to heal.
Imagine a pre-BB Danse who is crushing hard on M!Sole reacting to finding out M!Sole is a mutant who refused to tell Danse himself because he was terrified the paladin would hate him.
Fkn love this trope.

Same Old Trouble
A man doesn't get a second chance at a first impression - and sometimes it's all downhill from there.
Nathan Stahl survived the bombs, buried deep underground in cryogenic sleep. Thawed out for reasons unknown, with nothing and no one for company, he clawed his way out into the ruins of the city he called home, and began to acclimate to the pace of life in the Commonwealth wasteland. But even 200 years later, his life before the bombs is catching up to him.
Read it on ao3, tags updated as the story progresses.
Some of you may remember that a long time ago I promised to rewrite the fic that I'd poured so many hours into, because Stahl had evolved as a character and wandered too far from the source material. Divorced from the canon events of the game, allowed to build his own histories and future, he's grown into a much more living, breathing man, and folks, I'd like to re-introduce him.
He is, lucky for us, still a bit of an asshole. I hope you all get to like him as much as I have.

My sole survivor, Nico.
The jacket he’s wearing is from a fic I’m writing. He stitches (or scribbles with permanent marker) a ‘111’ onto all of his clothes, he feels so lost and he wants to identify with something, sadly all he’s got is that damned vault. He spent over 200 years in that place and he can’t brush it off, no matter how hard he tries to.
