Octachel: Just insane enough to work?

Well well well, hum, the thing is I've hated Octachel for years, since the moment I was introduced to this fandom and realized people would rather ship Rachel with Octavian than Percy actually, it enraged me to no end. So this feeling pretty much stuck with me since then. Now I have no problem with people shipping them and I can enjoy some arts and AUs about them, but it's still a no go for me.

I wish anti-ship didn't mean you hate or are... (eye-roll) morally opposed to a ship, because I'm struggling to coin a more fitting term for my feelings about caleo, which is best described as 'I ship them but in a tragic bitterly divorced way'. Like I'm fascinated by, borderline obsessed with, their downfall as a couple. I have an entire playlist on youtube that's just about how I think their breakup would go if Rick was writing a story for more mature audiences.

I don't hate the ship, not the way I hate something like octachel which is just... Comically bad. As an aside, why did anyone think that was a good idea? They met like... ONCE in canon, and Rachel's the oracle, so she's not allowed to date anyway.

No, my feelings about them are much more complex than that. It's like... Have you ever watched the show Moral Orel? If you have, you should know that Clay and Bloberta have like... An extremely toxic relationship. And that's part of what makes the show so interesting, so compelling, so deeply tragic.

For me, it's kinda like that. It's the same principal, anyway. And I don't really know a name for that. Maybe we should make one
