(Grins evilly) HAIII FLAKE >■</!!!!! So glad you sent this bc now I get to think about GabiDen 2.0 (so sorry StarSoda/KazWish for calling you guys that. If anything Gabi and Denji are StarSoda 2.0 if you really think about it [Kazuichi was the first shark toothed guy i ever unofficially f/o'd. This is some serious irl Wishi lore])

▪︎ Despite being in the class below Kazuichi, Wishi's actually the oldest !! Not by much, just by a couple of months (She's born in April, he's born in June)

▪︎ Kazuichi and Wishi met due to Sonia, actually !! Sonia and Wishi became friends due to fact that both of them were technically transfers. They'd hang out sometimes either during or after school, and considering Kazuichi's infatuation with Sonia, it was only a matter of time until they crossed paths with one another.

▪︎ Their dynamic is 100% "[A] fell first; [B] fell harder" with Wishi being A and Kazuichi being B. Except Wishi did fall first then proceeded to fall harder because of course she did.

▪︎ In a normal AU, Wishi fell for Kazuichi during their school years, but lacked the courage to do anything about it at the time. Meanwhile, Kazuichi would've realized he caught feelings for Wishi if not for the events that happened, which for lack of better term, distracted him from that. Wishi sort of got a do-over during SDR2 when they were both in the Neo World Program (which is its own story as to why she's in there), where she, in fact, ended up falling first AGAIN. But this time, Kazuichi finally fell harder (hallelujah)

□ However, in a non despair AU, things go slightly better ! And by slightly I mean The End never kick starts because I blended Junko Enoshima so now StarSoda gets to have a silly HS romance >■< In Which Wishi falls first and goes "ohno" because he's like. OBSESSED with Sonia and also because Wishi + Crushes = flustered hell and delusions too maybe. And Kazuichi FINALLY realizes that he's fallen HARD because "oh cute girl who's like really nice to me and is cute and probably likes me?? And is cute and is my friend who's actually been great and is also CUTE!?!" yaeah ♡♡ This time though Wishi actually ends up doing smthn about it. And by that I mean Kazuichi asked her out sometime in his third year bc he didn't have much time left and wanted to get at least a CHANCE at some Highschool romance. Wishi said yes. And by "say yes" I mean she was right about to ask HIM out too (with the same reasoning as him) and went "o.oh you were gonna. ah. okay guess I don't need this anymore" secretly hides heartfelt card she made bc she was too afraid to confess verbally (he got the card anyway)

▪︎ After some time of being friends, Wishi mentioned that she made silly little webcomics in her free-time and Kazuichi near BEGGED her to add him in one. And she went "I'm not doing THAT. EVER!!!" and then immediately added him in the background as a bg character in the newest web comic she was working on.

▪︎ Speaking of. Wishi almost always doodles Kazuichi whenever she's drawing warm up sketches. She's got a little sketchbook and almost all of the pages have some sort of Souda drawing on them. You can actually track her improvement when it comes to drawing him.

▪︎ In HS, they were the couple who technically weren't a couple but . Everyone could tell. "Yeahhh they defo have smthn going on" because they DIDD so then when they actually got together nobody was all that surprised about it.

▪︎ Not much changed when they went from friends to dating in terms of their dynamic, except Kazuichi got, like... REALLY super giddy near the beginning of their relationship. Almost to the point where he was but a liiiittle bit overwhelming. But Wishi knew it was from a place of genuine excitement, and he chilled out a little eventually!!

▪︎ I wanna say that they’re both super affectionate to the point where their friends go “yuck!!” at the PDA but really? I don’t think they’d get thaaat bad about it! While Kazuichi is 100% ready to go HAM with PDA, Wishi is a bit more tactful.

□ … THOUGH WISHI HAS HER MOMENTS!!! She’s definitely a repeat offender of sneaking behind Kazuichi and just completely GLOMPING the hell out of him. Sneaks up behind and jumps on his back ,, koala hugs him too,, Almost NEVER fails to scare the socks off of him!! But then he realizes it’s his GF and he goes from terrified to shakily happy :3c

▪︎ Wishi likes to draw her and Kazuichi together, or just make general art that he’d like, while Kazuichi likes making little trinkets for Wishi!!

□ They've both made eachother little charms and keychains for the other!! Wishi drew out a design and made one out of clay for Kazuichi, while Kazuichi worked overnight on a cute little trinket using the parts of two watches and also a couple of coke cans. It was a very pretty charm that had a neat flashlight function!!

▪︎ I like to think that somewhere in the future, they move in together 💭💭 They probably adopt a cat together (Kazuichi found a cat in the engine of an old car and brought it home and Wishigot attached quickly). Wishi probably ended up publishing her webcomic as a physical thing while Kazuichi finally got to finish that bike project he was working on, as well as being able to open his own mechanic .. um. Shop? I forgot the right word, mb

□ That’s all in a non-despair AU though. In a normal AU, they don’t live together… Technically. Wishi visits Jabberwock Island for half a year annually and lives with Kazuichi when she does, but she does have to leave the island to do her work as a Future Foundation Member (while FF started rebuilding Hopes Peak, I honestly doubt that there still wasn’t other work to be done. She keeps busy tending to Hopes Peak, as well as outside work that the Future Foundation assigns her to do). Fortunately, though, it didn’t really cause a lot of problems in the long run! It was a little difficult at first, but it definitely helped that they kept up contact when Wishi was away! Plus, Wishi started taking quick two-three day visits during the months she’s mainly working just so that the wait isn’t as long/unbearable.

y’know generally i try to limit colour palettes to as few colours as possible to make things more cohesive but despite my best efforts only jay ended up being able to stick to that </3

he jingles when he walks. somehow he’s still stealthy. i do not know how

kept the platinum ring that bonded him to gillion in the block! because hey he doesn’t really have a reason to take it off (and it’s a nice reminder of how much gill cares about him, and how far their friendship has come since that ice arena)

his tattoos shift and flicker like actual flames, and sometimes (harmless, purely aesthetic) sparks fly off them when he’s excited

i just think smoke coming out of his mouth when he’s angry would be cool :]

he has scars from the red lightning, they’re just mostly contained to his back and shoulders. they’re a similar red to his coat even once they’ve healed

gillion —

the tail sleeve thing is so he can rest it on the ground without damaging his scales, he doesn’t usually wear it when he’s just on the ship because the wood is soft enough that it’s usually fine + it can hinder swimming a bit. it’s mostly meant for places where there’s cobblestone or gravel streets and such. i think his armour would probably have a version that looks similar but covers the whole tail minus the fins, maybe with some armour plating of its own. i didn’t draw it because there wasn’t any room lol

his scars from the lightning are pink mostly because red stood out too much tbh. they softly glow in the dark the same as his coral and the pink parts of his fins

also kept his ring! his hands aren’t really made for jewellery, though, because the webbing means it won’t sit very secure on his finger. so he keeps it on the same chain as the necklace he got from aslana to keep it safe

tried to make him look a bit bulkier and more his age than in my original design? i feel like i was leaning too much into the naivety and. shortness. originally lol. he also has thicker eyebrows now and i’m still trying to decide how i feel about them but i think? i like it? i don’t tend to give many character thin eyebrows so it could’ve been a unique thing for him but alas

i think i made the sword too small but like ignore that

blue magic! i was considering gold but that’d look a bit more like a canary than i wanted for her wings so. blue jay :]

her hair is supposed to look kinda like fire to mimic her dad ! kinda showing that even if she runs from her family and the navy they’ll always be a part of her. and also i just like drawing messy hair

i gave her sturdier gloves just because i feel like it fits her better. also changed up the shirt to more of a button up solely because i don’t like tank tops very much LOL

i did WANT to make her outfit a bit flashier to match the boys better but i couldn’t quite figure out where to Put the flash. maybe that’ll come later, the way the story’s going i might get to design some cool prosthetics for her or something

because there’s just so many fucking colours i triiied to add at least one or two colours from each of them into the others designs. jay has her necklace with each of their main colours on it, her wings are the same blue as gillions eyes, her jacket and right eye are the same dark blue as destiny’s blade, her hair is the same orange as the lighter part of chips tattoos. chip has a dark green sash under all the belts, the same as the hilt of destiny’s blade. they all use the same shades of black, gold, and brown

the only real exception is gillion doesn’t have anything from the other two because he has Such a specific colour palette and he already had so much going on as-is orz jay was obviously the easiest to do this with because she has both warm and cool colours in her palette by default lol (and i did her design last, so that helps)

This is in a manhwa au?? I don't want to call it a royalty au since neither of you are royalty but its essentially your average manhwa plot

I've decided to write something completely unrelated to the canon plot of jjk since I'm still in the process of watching the anime lmaooo

i feel overwhelmed by this anime tbh someone save me , i might just skip to the second season since i've already seen the first one back when it first came out but lowkey forgor everything😵

He's talking to her with that smile on his face again. You really shouldn't be bothered by this anyway, so why do you keep staring? You know how this story ends for you anyways.

You quickly turned around, not wanting to invade upon Satoru's buisness any further. You weren't outright bothering him, but you have a feeling he wouldn't enjoy you staring at him from behind the corner like some stalker. Not when he has better things to be looking at.

You've been married to Gojo Satoru for exactly 3 months now. It was a marriage born of neccessity, pure interest to stop marriage pressure from your families. Atleast on his side, it was. He made that clear during the marriage proposal.

"Well, I'm mostly just doing this so mom stops nagging me about finding a wife already. I'm sure the same applies to you."

Those words have been replaying in your head for a while now. You've known Satoru only for about a year at that point, and even then it was mostly through social events you attended that he also happened to be attending.

So needless to say, it was simulaneously a complete surprise and completely expected when he suddenly gave your family a surprise visit to offer his hand in marriage.

You knew there was zero romantic feelings involved from the very beginning, so you know you shouldn't be surprised if Satoru wants to leave you for Lady Ichikawa, the girl he talks to almost every day. But your heart can't help but clench at the sight, and you wish Satoru could...

Nevermind.

You should be attending to your duties anyways.

You sighed, practically collapsing on your bed. Finance is not fun, to say the least. Being the Lady of the house is a suprisingly tiring job, and definitely gives you more respect for your mother.

The servants had already helped you change into your night gown, and you were perfectly ready to hit the hay right now.

As the servant put out the lights in the chandelier, you thought about Satoru again. The guy is an annoyingly persistent thought in the back of your head, that's for sure.

You haven't even talked in a week.

Sure, the two of you tend to get busy, but this essentially just proves to you what kind of marriage this is. If he did care about you, he would've checked up on you atleast once, wouldn't he..? You don't have a right to complain about it anyways, since you were the one who agreed to the marriage in the end. You should be grateful you even had a say in it.

As the servant closed the door behind you, you clutched the pillow in your hand. Maybe if you keep being useful, he won't discard you. You've only been thinking of yourself up until now. You just now realise that if he leaves you for Lady Ichikawa, you'll lose your family face.

This is shaping up to be a nightmare.

Suddenly, you hear a knock on the door. "Oiiii, can I come iiiin?"

Well, speak of the devil. You would recognise that voice anywhere. "Sure, come in." you said so, but did you want to face him right now? You felt conflicted, both really happy and really nervous.

As the door opened, you turned your head, his silhouette, illuminated by the lights in the doorway coming into view. "Man, it's dark in here. You're going to sleep so early?" he said casually as he turned on the oil lamp on your table.

You only nodded in response, looking at him with half wonder half suspicion. Why is he paying you a visit all of a sudden? "What..? Can't a husband visit his wife?" Satoru furrowed his brows, noticing your dimmly lit expression and sitting down on the edge of your bed.

"I'm happy you're here." You assured him. And you truly were.

"Right, of course you are." Satoru smirked boldly at you, but somehow, you could tell that he was relieved to hear it. He looked in front of him.

"I got you this." he said a little more quietly, handing you a book as you sat up in bed. But it wasn't just any book. "No way... how did you even get your hands on this?!" you blinked multiple times in the dim light, making sure your eyes weren't playing tricks on you.

When you realised how loud you just were, you quickly covered your mouth, and Satoru laughed at you for a bit before saying "I have my ways."

"That... doesn't answer the question. How much did this even cost?"

"...You shouldn't worry so much."

That idiot... You took another look at the book in your lap, the rare book you were trying to get your hands on for 3 years at this point. You can't help but wonder if the emergency finance work you had to do today has something to do with this.

"...Why?" you looked back up at him.

"Why what?" he flashed his usual smile at you, his white lashes fluttering as he gazed at you. This all seems... odd.

"Why did you get this for me? Why would you spend so much money on me? How did you even know I wanted this? What are you trying to do... here..." your last question died off as you saw his expression slowly shift to one of concern.

"You're... my wife? And I happen to know you want this? What kind of questions even are those, seriously." he scoffed, shaking his head.

"But... Lady Ichikawa..." why would he spend money on you when he could be putting it towards his future with Lady Ichikawa? Wait, why did you even start assuming that he'll leave you any minute to begin with? Gosh...

"Oh, her? Wait... are you jealous?" he raised his eyebrows playfully, leaning back. "Not really, I just thought that you... like her more than me." it felt strange finally admitting this to him.

"Ehhh.... She's just a friend, ya know. And I actually mean it. Why would I like her more?" Satoru looked as unaffected as ever, smiling at you. But beneath that nonchalant attitude and those shining blue eyes of his, you could feel confusion, doubt, and something else.

"You said in your proposal t-that... So I thought Lady Ichikawa..." all the turmoil that had been building up inside you for the last three months finally let loose, with you trying your best to speak through your tears. Isn't this pathetic?

"Shhh, I know what I said back then. But now that I actually have you, I dunno anymore. I wanna try out this whole love thing." Satoru moved up on the bed, moving over to your side and gently petting your head.

"In other words, you can stop crying now. Because I'm not letting you go anytime soon."

They're over all very strategic but have a very cold personality that closes everyone off. They do so in a very beautiful and elegant manner.

Their significant other of course found this odd until they found out that the reader was actually a war strategist back in their world. Despite being so young, they were talented and the best in all fields.

The scar on her nose is from being underhand punted like a rugby ball by an older brother back when she was an orb shaped child. Since adventuring the regular healing has stopped her getting too scarred up from any misadventures.

F A M I L Y

Parents: Notable members of their remote mountain community, maintaining an important set of Arcanima wards around an aetherically dangerous geological fault. Of course, they're good at their jobs so this wasn't very scary as an upbringing. They're a lovely couple and make a hell of a bowl of soup. All else I know about them is they're very supportive and Frog writes to them regularly.

Siblings: like six rowdy older brothers. She was very spoiled by this squad of bodyguards tbh. (Ignore the previous comment about one of them maiming her, they DO love her even if they saw her as a cannonball under other circumstances.) A couple of them left to be mercenaries, uncertain if for Garlemald - they don't write home as thoroughly.

Grandparents: Probably, tbh. We're getting out of my limited perception of Hellguard culture and history but I think I can say the remoteness of their village is an excuse for nothing too terrible to have happened to any of them :P

In-laws and other: She was sort of starting to think of Edmont as a potential in-law and he began acting like it after Events so she's acquired some without marrying. He DID also adopt Aymeric informally, so now she's courting him it's coming back around!

Pets: Multiple, even not counting animal sanctuary beasties. Some she drops by to visit where they're being looked after once she'd raised them or sheltered them for a while (the baby hippo was donated to the hippo riders thankfully before he got too large and hungry for example). Others live at the free company house getting spoiled by the staff. The free company is named after the baby tapir who is the best and cutest. :)

Abilities: In character, she has yet to find something she isn't good at after a couple of false starts. (ooc is much more of a mess depending on my ability) As an all-jobs all-crafts all-gatherers weirdo she's genuinely alarming to contemplate.

Hobbies: crafting/gathering/fishing is more of a wind down respite than a career calling for her. Canonically she's finished the fishing log... ooc I haven't by a long shot :P She also loves visiting bars and pubs across the world that she's visited to drop in on old friends, or go on foodie tours of places she's liberated. They stole G'raha being a foodie traveller in the dawntrail trailer from her actually.

Kinda always wanted to do a in character review of all the drinking establishments in game.

Most positive trait: determination and everything that went into being strong enough to do the end walk, which did feel like a culmination of all the positive things they ascribe to the WoL. Since she's living the life of box art Meteor with no plot deviations or alterations except what I can put into the downtime and spaces between cutscenes, I can't argue with times when they REALLY show the admirable heart of the WoL.

Most negative trait: She's not going to say no, so if you need a favour just stand near where she wanders by routinely and look forlorn and you WILL get helped to within an inch of your life.

the general idea is they're both streamers ahhayhah on a totally and definitely original streaming site called Switch hahaha so original hahaha

The both of them aren't overly popular but they have some form of reputation to their name cause for jia some of her stupid clips have gone viral (she does mostly gamer content 🎮💪🔥) where it's either her being real bad at the game or she's getting jumpscared and for hobie his content is a lot moreeee diverse I think, and he also streams a lot less than jia does cause it's just a side thing for him but some of his clips have gone viral for either music related reasons or it's something he's said (HES FUNNY IN A WAY YOU WOULDNT EXPECT KIND OF THING)

ok so sousou no frieren (or frieren beyond journey's end (i think thats the en title)) follows ! well. frieren. she's an elf so she lives an extremely long life (also she is so autism. peak tbh creature but thats unrelated) so time is extremely inconsequential to her. so the story begins at the end of every other like, fantasy anime - the Big Bad has been defeated and the heroes are coming home and settling back into their lives. except frieren splits off from her party to go wander around and collect magic. for 50 years. so when she comes back to honor a promise to her friends that they'll all go see a meteor shower that happens once every like 50yrs, they're all Old.

and then the leader of her party, himmel, dies. (also he was lowkey in love w/ frieren but she Did Not Know and is only figuring it out as the story progresses) which kickstarts frieren's journey.

ngl i kinda forgor what she's doing overall but. she meets up with one of her other party members and stays with him for awhile while training his like. adopted?? daughter as a mage (and she becomes frieren's party member and the two travel together :3) and !!

its this very soft and sweet story. but it's also really cool and intense at times skjdghds like frieren is following the path her original party took - and making new memories along it. the first episode made me cry btw its A Lot. but its such a good series. frieren learns to care about people because she didn't and then lost someone and wishes she had tried harder. so she does. and its so cute so many of the things frieren does all come back to himmel and its just. ough. i need to chew on them.

My name is Tix (they/them), and welcome to my rotumblr blog! I'm 21, I'm from Unova and in Unova and i run a small café on Route 3 right outside Striaton City. If you don't find it, just look for the Daycare on the hill, walk up that hill and look for the building at the foot of the hill! And now come in and get a cupcake, you earned it!

A bit of background info, so you're not put off:

- I'm a trainer, i went on gym journey but i never finished (i have 5 badges). I know a bit about tactics, i like battling as a concept (i love watching league battles and gym battles on TV) but I'm not a big battler myself. If you're interested though, just ask. I have a good team and we do like the exercise. Just... Don't expect me to win.

- My parent's own a farm near Lacunosa Town on route 12. Their main focus is on Produce but they also offer a breeding program. I've worked a lot with them as well, so if you've just gotten an egg from the daycare, i can give you some tips. I don't know everything though.

- I'm a poison type specialist. Don't be put off by this. The food is all safe to eat, the air is safe to breathe and if anything should ever happen, i have antidotes. My Pok￩mon are all sweethearts, but please be careful about touching them. If you would like to pet them, feel free to ask me. I will gladly tell you how to safely do it or if it's not possible. This should go without saying, but some people... Well.

First, this is obviously a Pokemon irl rp blog. As I and the people I'll mostly interact with will pretend that Pokémon are real, this is a blanket #unreality warning. I tried for a while to tag every post with that, but tbh it's tiresome, and I don't think it's really needed. Instead, I'll usually tag with at least one of the following three tags: #pokemon irl, #pkmn irl or #pokeblogging. It's probably gonna be #pokeblogging though.

Second, while both I and my character(s) are adults, I'd prefer to keep this blog semi SFW. (I will act like an adult though.) Mentions and, I'll call it "informative discussions" of sensitive topics are okay, but I try to keep it off screen. I don't think anyone had plans to play out elaborate sex-scenes on here but you never know.

If anything comes up, I'll try to put a warning tag. I'm not a fan of spamming tags, and some posts i already did have quite a lot, so I'll keep it to one format: #cw [trigger]. I will probably still use them sparingly, since i'm personally okay with most things. Please tell me if i should tag something.

That said, i usually don't consider "gore" as NSFW because thats just silly in my opinion. People cut themself and break their bones. I'll still try to keep stuff like this on the low end, and extreme stuff like dismemberment will also be tagged.

Third: I'm not the biggest fan of high stakes, especially on a global scale. I'll decide case to case if i want to react or interact. If it's something personal high stakes I'm more willing to participate (a character's arc that results in a final battle with a nemesis). Like i said, global scale high stakes where the world is threatened is probably not something I'll do a lot (team aqua wants to flood the world again). I do acknowledge it if it's happening because a lot of other blogs do participate and it's just weird if I'll always ask "whoa whats a shadow Pok￩mon", but, like, Tix will probably be a lucky one and be unaffected by most things. If you would like me to participate, feel free to ask though. (I might just decline). Everything will be appropriately tagged #high stakes pokereality. I don't think i will be getting into details like "low stakes" and "medium stakes" for tagging.

Regarding sentient/sapient pok￩mon: Human Characters will treat them as roleplayers online who just have fun. Might play along, might be a bit snarky or so. Pokémon Characters (Porygons, Rotoms, Team Nightdancer) will interact and understand them, even in person. This means that @team-nightdancer is NOT canon to the human run blogs, despite me running both. Exceptions to this rule is the Porygon line, Rotom and possibly very specific cases.

Fourth: as for other tags: all of Tix' and Olivias pokemon will have their own tag in the format #[nickname] the [species] , for example #coffee the koffing . I don't know how consistent I'll be with capitalisation, i try to use all lowercase. All posts regarding Yoghurt the Yveltal while it was still an egg are tagged with #yveltal??? Posts about Cracker the Murkrow and Cheese the Crobat from before they were caught are tagged #unknown crobat . I will not tag Pok￩mon of other people, and I'll only tag the Pok￩mon that are relevant for the specific post/reblog (because i have a lot of pok￩mon and the tags won't end otherwise). If I'm sure something will be the last entry in a longer series of reblogs, i might tag everyone who was relevant, but don't expect it. I usually put them there so people know who I'm talking about, because i use the nicknames. (Another list of the Pok￩mon will be at the very end)

depending on what kind of interaction i am doing on rotumblr, there are 6 tags, 2 for each Tix, Brandy and Olivia. Answers to asks will be tagged with #tix answers, #brandy answers or #olivia answers. If it's about "normal" blogging, it'll be tagged either #tix.txt, #brandy boasting or #olivia online. some old posts might have #tix blogs or #olivia blogs, i won't go through that to change it. posts from before olivias appearance might not be tagged at all in this way. The "event" (idk how to call it) where i come up with weird drinks or things that people order will be tagged with #daily disaster drinks . In character, these will be made by Olivia and will not be daily, as Olivia isn't working at the caf￩ every day.

Ask games or Ask memes or whatever you call them will be tagged with #ask game. Once i reblog them, they are open indefinitely. omg tell us more about ur ideas about the o’brien’s relationships on tng vs ds9 i’m very interested

tbh i really need to go back and watch tng because obviously i wasnt paying as much attention to obrien back then and i straight up forgor. but yesterday i did rewatch obrien scenes from both "data's day" and "in theory" and I feel like O'Brien is a lot different but not in like a continuity error way just in ways that could be factors of his environment. He was just a lot quieter (something that is probably DIRECTLY because he isn't a main character in TNG, therefore there is much less reason for him to be on screen talking, but we can have fun and pretend that was an intentional character decision) he also kept calling Data sir like one million times, which I feel like is a sign he was not comfortable or friendly with him. Which i mean if O'Brien was uncomfortable with the rest of the senior staff or felt the need to be overly formal to them it would make sense. Although at that point he had been in Starfleet for a long time, he was still an enlisted officer surrounded by what was considered the best of the best in all of starfleet. The enterprise definitely has this kind of elitist very professional vibe to it. everyone is so eager to be this self-sacrificing hero. I think this vibe comes across a lot in the episode Lower Decks, how all the ensigns are trying their best to get noticed and to move up in ranks. I can see why a guy like O'Brien would feel uncomfortable in this environment and have a hard time relating to his peers. O'Brien wants to start a family and spend his time fixing things. If he ever was a man whos actions were influenced by glory-seeking and heroism, i feel like that was stomped out during his time in the war. It is not something that is ever addressed in canon (though it might be kinda interesting) but you cant tell me there isnt some kind of biased against enlisted officers, even if its just a status thing.

I'm sure O'Brien had friends on the enterprise and obviously, thats where he met his wife, I just cant imagine him being close with any of these people. He seemed to have a good relationship with Geordi, but those two were both pretty similar and really Geordi could (and has) make friends with anyone. Anyway, O'Brien seems like he would be much more comfortable in the environment that's created on DS9, where rank doesn't seem to mean much and everyones a lot more casual with each other. Before the dominion and all that, DS9 really was a quiet little out-of-the-way place that, of course, was not the perfect environment to start a family, but at least wasn't facing the threat of being blown up each week like the enterprise (this changed very very fast, but O'Brien had no idea that was gonna happen when he first signed up for the job) Probably part of the reason O'Brien didnt like Julian at first was because he would have fit right in on the enterprise with his top of the class wanting to be the hero attitude. He even kept calling him sir at first, just like he did with all the officers on the enterprise (but... i dont need to explain how their relationship develops you already know) also there is just a lot less starfleet personnel on the station then there was on the enterprise and i would imagine there is a lot of turnover, so there would be a lot less options for friends, which would kinda force you to get closer to the people you do have.

Mandela Catalog x Dungeons and Dragons AU

D&D I am still kiiinda hyperfixated on, and of course y’all know the same is very true for The Mandela Catalog.

Lemme know if y’all want any more of this. I’ve already started to sketch designs.

So I’ve been thinking: what if the story was set in a D&D universe?

The Alternates are actually an elite group of Changelings sent from the Feywild, by Gabriel, a high-ranking Fey (who sealed away and disguised himself as a high-ranking Celestial who oversaw it) that wants the main plane of the world to fall to its knees, and become basically a new Feywild. I switched up some races (as in human or something else, I mean) but kept them humanoid and roughly human-sized.

This all began when I started making classes for the main cast:

Mark: Fighter (Battlemaster, a more modern setting would be Gunslinger) / Barbarian (Zealot), Half-Elf. I think he comes from a tough family as far as all that training goes.

Cesar: Fighter (Psi Knight) / Cleric (Knowledge), Aasimar. Don’t wanna talk much about the alt one tbh, though I do have ideas for him. This dude is just clever, nice, and not to be trifled with.

Adam: Blood Hunter (Mutant) / Warlock (Celestial, but could also be fiend), Changeling (believes he is a Tiefling, and looks as such). I did not choose Tiefling to demonize here, we don’t do that around these parts. On the contrary, Tieflings are my favorite race, and I like their misunderstood history and feel it fits Adam wonderfully.

Jonah: Rogue (Arcane Trickster), high elf. Because hehe stoner but also just The Vibes. Was thinking of making him a Tiefling too, but decided not to.

Sarah: Monk (Long Death) / Paladin (Vengeance), Half-Elf. Let her be POWERFUL, dangit. Imo she already is in canon. Her and her brother tag team really well.

Evelin: Druid (Dreams), Eladrin Elf. I thought it would be interesting that her Druidic power is connected to the Feywild, referencing how she was influenced by Adam in-series. Idk why she gives me Druid vibes. I think she��d mostly take her autumn form, possibly winter.

Dave: Sorcerer (Divine Soul), Half-Elf. Going off the idea that he’s related to Mark and Sarah. Just because I think that it would be neat to upgrade him to have more of a metaphysical kind of skillset given that this horror ain’t so analog, but he’s also a Normal Dude caught up in bullcrap. …the audience for this AU, I’m pretty sure, consists mainly of me and my friend Bel. Wah.

Ruth: Paladin (Ancients) / Rogue (Swashbuckler), Air or Fire Genasi. Not sure what kind. I just know she’s neat, tbh. NO WAIT I FORGOR, AASIMAR! CUZ GUARDIAN ANGEL. And I know there isn’t much confirmed about her in-universe, but I think these classings fit her. Charismatic and crafty when she has to be, but doing all she does for the greater good.

Thatcher: Rogue (Phantom) / Paladin (Watchers), Shifter. I do think Thatcher is so entrenched in the stuff that he’s up against that he’d need to be a bit like it to stand tall as long as he has, and I feel like making him a shifter is perfect for that.

I have been frothing in the mouth to see Bendis' head on a proverbial plate since he aged Jon up and explained away Kon's removal and return as a multiverse brainfart but oh my God, I can't believe I am starting to appreciate his absolute bumfuckery of a writing that feels like it gives me a concussion at every five words.

I give credit where it's due in that he had some very interesting ideas: angst-loving edgy bitch in me has been going insane to see a proper Jon breakdown after the volcano— I wanted drama, I wanted resentment, I wanted unreliable narrator! But it ended up like a wet fart and next writers made that shit into an off-handed joke. Either by his own or the editorial's incompetence (and/or cowardice), none of them led to anywhere.

unfortunately, i did not know he was using otho and osul to substitute for what would have been OG chris, but tbh, that does not surprise me.

Oh, I meant that the twins bore, in my opinion, quite a few similarities to Chris (both thematically and visually). They all came from abusive backgrounds, one of them has a god stuck in him, and one scene seems to have visually copied the scene where Chris catches the Daily Planet globe from falling onto Lois. Oh, and they get adopted by Clois, but that goes without saying. It's not much, but it sure makes me PhilipFryNarrowingEyes.gif at the whole deal, especially with people coming out of the woodshed to scream about Chris Kent louder in the recent years.

However, the twins ARE blatantly stated by Kennedy to be a replacement for Jon and his kid appeal. (dragged away by orderlies in a straitjacket) THEN WHY LET BENDIS SCREW JON OVER—

I surprisingly didn't mind Rebirth Lor-Zod because I guess I see it as a better alternative to seeing a child get abused and brainwashed while Clark frolicks with Jon. Plus, Zod and Ursa as good parents feels like an interesting narrative to me. AND I will always laugh at the idea of Zod being a better parent than Clark at this point.

For me, Lor and Chris are definitely different characters. I love time dimension fuckery, what can I say? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Hey, Wally and N52 Wally exist together! Why not the Zod bros? I'm sure this crap doesn't affect the Phantom Zone the same way it affects... everything else. Yes, that's the half-assed explanation I'm going with. Better than what DC would have said anyway.

I will always thank Taylor and his editorial team for at least giving us Bi Jon, but I am still gonna bite their ankles for lackluster books. :/

Anyway, I agree, let Bendis come for a swan song where he nukes everything DC like he nuked the whole Krypton planet explosion myth except tenfold, and we can go from there.

akjfhsjkdfgsdfhj ok to be fair, bendis is a mindbender. he writes some absolute GHASTLY shit with little care for how hard writers after him are gonna struggle after he's done, but he DOES write some pretty awesome stuff too. it's just one of those things where it's like yeah..... clark forgot kon, jon was abused in a volcano for five or six years, clark came out of the kryptonian closet, etc. every story point was a rough read, but i like to believe they all had merit. could they have been better? absolutely, but i read bendisboot losh and it was literally just industry hoes gathering to draw killer pages of losh in the modern age with zero written craft. like you could smell the Industry on that book. i don't doubt editorial cared how terribly written it was since they printed some of the most beautiful artwork in that book.

sjhdgfdfgskjfdg ok ok that makes more sense. i don't know much about kennedy johnson at all, so i was just having a good time reading clark raising some kids after chris died (in my heart) and jon was sacrificed after bendis refused to write escapist fiction. he's not tomasi or jurgens or kennedy johnson, that's for sure lmaoooo

i won't lie, in the OG warworld, i really didnt think they were ten, and i did think osul would die, just bc it would fuel otho's womanpain. it was only after warworld wrapped up that the Chris Allusions really kicked in with me. i honestly thought kennedy johnson was gonna do the Struggle Arc with otho after osul's permanent death since bendis didn't do it with jon after his abuse by ultraman, but all that fell flat pretty quickly. all the comics post-warworld have just been a prolonged falling action, but i AM happy he didn't kill the twins. they graduated to nibling status. kennedy johnson coulda been petty and killed em off before moving on, but he can get a cookie for leaving them alone for now.

on a side note, with otho and osul seemingly staying on, i really believe nobody on that editorial board got any plans to deage jon anytime soon. his 'purpose' has effectively been replaced. and tbh.... good. i hate the og supersons concept, so anything that murders the blood supremacy nepobaby garbage is an A+ in my book

oh moooood. i only picked up rebirth bc i wanted some context into what joe casey wanted to do for kneel before zod, but i do NOT regret reading it. rereading new krypton, reading rebirth, and now getting ready for kneel before zod in just months is just SUCH a rush. i think zod's one of those characters that shines when you have writers that want to write HIM versus writing an enemy for superman to fill some pages.

it's like the opposite of the superchildren issue. all the super kids are pretty much destined to suffer BECAUSE they're superman's kids, but if you're a villain who's a superman villain that's taking five minutes NOT to look at superman, you're reading a science fiction political narrative where the main belligerents are general zod and sam lane and NOT superman and all that holds him back bc of status quo.

the lackluster books make me wanna weep, BUT, issa general dc comics problem rn. editorial thinks complex lit dont sell no more, but i know they're wrong. that one book ram v wrote with jon as a swampy boi was such a tease. imagine three books with swampy boi jon tapping into his human roots as a baby avatar of the green.

and injustice! i know ppl hated the ending, but we got so many sweet tidbits. pretty clear now that jon DID get sexually abused, at least one variant of the injustice universe knows jon exists, jay exists outside of prime earth, future state jon with ties to midnighter and the authority.... be strong. one day someone with the spirit and hand of frank millar will write a book where jon's not a tool for clark's manpain or a way for editorial to write unproblematic nepobaby escapist fiction. he has the potential. we just gotta have a little faith 👽

Anyway, I agree, let Bendis come for a swan song where he nukes everything DC like he nuked the whole Krypton planet explosion myth except tenfold, and we can go from there.
