who wants to learn about dragons and hoards?

So a lot of people mistake hoards as the result of a dragon's passing interests but in reality (for the types of dragon that have this hoard instinct) it's an intense and obsessive compulsion.

Dragons pack a lot of firepower into a relatively dense body, and hoards give them an opportunity to put all that energy somewhere by providing for a hoard's 'needs', whatever they are. In the old times, it was most common for dragons to hoard wealth, land or knowledge but as time went on the variety in subject expanded. Now, hoards can range from innocuous/harmless topics like baseball cards to more complex subjects (like literal living beings).

The darker side to hoard instinct is how intense and possessive it is - the desire to monopolise and satisfy the needs of a hoard is all-encompassing, and it's not unheard of for dragons to go too far. Just like dating, dragons typically go through a few hoards in their lifetime (like passing hyper-fixations) before they find the one thing that'll be their hoard until they die. And after they find that one thing, the rest of their life is in some way dedicated to protecting, caring for and 'leaving their mark' on that thing. A big part of maturing for dragons is learning the self restraint required to not let these urges overtake them and turn them senseless.

Of all topics, hoards that center living beings are by far the most complex simply because living beings have agency and can't be entirely controlled. Price's hoard is the 141, and he has learned over time how to respect the lives of his boys. However, right after his and Ghost's final clash with Roba which resulted in life-changing events for both of them, he realised that he'd already subconsciously made Ghost 'hoard' in his mind.

The two of them fell into a co-dependent and borderline toxic relationship during their recovery. For Ghost, it was a combination of trauma-bonding and also a way to deal with his new powers/afflictions as a wraith. For Price, the recent loss of his wing had him falling back on other measures to help cling onto his dragon identity, and he overcompensated by going way too far on what was already a very fresh and concentrated hoard response. Of course there was still sincere affection backing up all of this, but they both ended up spiralling into something together.

It's always tough being THE hoard starter, as whatever it is will get an exorbitant response that lessens the more a hoard grows. It didn't help that Simon was in one of the most vulnerable and complicated moments of his life post-wraith-transformation. The co-dependency and possessiveness got to a point where higher-ups had to re-instate Price earlier than they wanted to and begin sending him out on missions again so that they could have some time apart. On one of those missions, Price met Gaz, and then later on, Soap.

shoutout to @kuradex for these Pokémon stickers i bought from them! they're cute and really high quality. was a little worried they might get lost in the post because they were being shipped from the US to the UK, but thankfully they arrived. i'll be sticking them inside my Pokemon card folder when i find it out.

WHAT GAME ARE WE PLAYING?!?...the game

Materials

Deck of uno

Deck of playing cards

20 pokemon cards

Cards against humanity (amount depends on people playing ex 30 white 15 black for roughly 2-4 people) //or play with apple vs apples and let your 6 year old have a early crisis//

White board

Folders for however many players you have

Points

Cards against humanity- 10 points

Uno- number cards 5 points- weird cards- 6 points

Pokemon- Names a-h- 7 points- i-q 8 points- r-z 9 points

Playing cards- multiplier cards- hearts 1- club 2- diamond 3- spade 4. Even cards 7 points odd 8 points face cards plus aces 9 points

Set Up

Each player will have a folder covering their cards

All are dealt out like war, all cards should be given

Playing cards and black cards against humanity are in two separate piles a pile face down in front of you

Pokemon, white cards against humanity and uno cards are in your hand

One uno card is to be placed in the middle

One designated player will keep track of uno color and score on the white board

Ending the Game

The game will end when someone has run out of cards

The winner is the player with the most points

Game Play

At the beginning of the game, everyone will silently decide what kind of card they would like to put down. You will put the card down face up behind your folder and on three you will lift the folder.

Only put down an uno card if it can be played off of the uno card that is in the middle. You can also put down a white cards against humanity card. The number will be determined by the number of vowels on the card(one vowel the number is 1 and can be played on a 1 but the color DOES NOT changes ). If it is above 15 then it is a wild and color changer. Number 9-14 is a 9. Wild cards just work as color changers. But colored pluses add the points reverse cards are worth 50 points but you gain no points if any other uno cards are played.

Playing cards and pokemon are played as war. The winner is based on the first letter of the pokemon or whether the playing card is odd, even or a character card. If the playing card wins, the points are multiplied by the numbers tied to the symbol. If both play a playing card, the winner gets the points of the winning points subtracted by the losing points. If you tie, then you will play a round of cards against humanity with the point kept as a judge or whoever has the most siblings, using the last white card played.

Rules

If you forget the color of the uno game and you put down the wrong color, you get subtracted 10 points times the number of your card, or times 10 if it is a colored wild

No changing cards after you put it down

No hitting

Old cards go next to the uno pile

In uno if more then one players have put a uno card down after lifting the folder who ever is first to place their card down gets to if the other person(s) card(s) cant be played they get the same punishment as if they forgot the color (times ten of the number)

If a card against humanity card is played they get authority over the uno cards and get to place their card first.

No asking judge /person holding points on white board/ for point checks

Edit: at the end when tou run out if cards you have to yell "what game are we playing?!?" If failed to do so you switch points with whoever as the lowest amout

so i'm sticking with this tzp inspired acd one 'gotta sign 'em all' as i need to get it out of my WIP folder and hopefully posting more here will make me write more - and figure out how to weave the past and present bits properly lol (YIKES!)

The first person to approach Alex is a newer resident from the shelter. Alex is helping her with her emancipation, and she has one of the copies of the book that Alex brought in a few weeks ago after hearing from Pez that the shelter was out of copies. He loves that Henry is so loved, and everyone wants to read his book. He hears so many places he goes how Henry’s book has spoken to them in some way. She walks over almost shyly, even though Alex is around her enough to know she’s definitely not. Still, he also knows there’s a difference between them talking at the shelter after school/work or on the way to or after court and now when there is a whole store full of people in just this one part of the store. He decides to help her out and says, “Hey, I see you got your copy of Henry’s book; glad ya got one before the vultures at that shelter swooped in.” She giggles and is almost instantly the girl Alex is used to, “ACD, now that I have my copy, I hear you do this thing, and I have a pen,” she opens the book and continues, “And look, here it’s the dedication page. Seriously you two are fucking saps; I read that damn thing when I got it; I almost lost all respect for you. I was drowning in so much sap knowing you go around sighing all over and signing your name to it.” Alex smiles as Pez nudges him from the next chair, laughing, “Are you sure you want me to sign it then? I wouldn’t want it to be too much sap for you.” “Bullshit, I need bragging rights. Do you know how many people at school will be going crazy when I say I collected the pair of signatures? It’s like getting some elite Pokemon card; I can ride off that fame for weeks.” Alex laughs and takes the book, “Well, I guess if it’s going for a good cause, I must.” He signs and hands it back, and she is off, back towards the group of kids she came with, with a parting, “Later, ACD.” She is no more than gone when June pipes up, “Jesus Christ, no wonder you get along so well with the kids at the shelter; they’re all just like you.” “I am much more mature than a bunch of teenagers-“ Alex gets out before being interrupted by Nora.

A fact you should know about me is that back when Pokemon card collecting was the rage when I was a child I also did so. But I didnt care about the actual Pokemon cards. Id get them second hand or in those small packets but then Id only keep the ability cards. And Id organize them by type and colour (fire then fighting then electric you get me) in a formal navy blue plastic folder from my Dad's work. I didnt play the game because most of what I had was just Water type cards. I am diagnosed with "Autism Spectrum Disorder" if you must know

APPEARANCE HCS

first and foremost — hes half japanese because i remember his aside counterpart being japanese iirc and i thought that was really cool and wanted to implement that into my own little hc (also he speaks like a dozen languages bc of another thing i'll go into detail with in a bit

so many different facial features, scarring (theres a very elaborate reason for this tbh), moles, freckles, etc all bc why not?? (freckles is primarily bc of my bestie crow and now im obsessed)

lashes bc why not, give every man a pair of lashes i think theyre pretty

PIERCINGS. so many piercings. this is primarily because i am a very firm believer that tabi gets piercings done because he wants to feel human again so he finds comfort in decorating himself as much as possible for that reason and also the aesthetic

broken horn bc of the mod events, damage beyond repair and whatnot

HE HAS LONG HAIR BC I SAID SO ‼️‼️ i figured considering he's been invisible for so long he never really knew what to do when it came to cutting his hair, so eventually it grew out to around his waist, and he kept that hairstyle ever since (he prefers wearing his hair in a ponytail or smth bc sensory issues when it comes to hair touching his skin)

a lot of tater's hcs infected my brain hehehehehe especially the tail and his hands still being what they were when they were cursed (also. paw beans. /vpos)

HES TRANS ‼️‼️ hes also very dumb and has very little regard for his health and forgets to take his binder off a lot (trust me he gets scolded a lot for that)

GENERAL HCS

hes autistic and has adhd — the autism hc i lowkey stole from crow but the adhd hc ive had for a long long while now — one of his lifelong special interests is performing arts and musicals

chronic insomniac — sleep? never heard of her

plays like 5 different instruments but primarily specialises in piano and guitar

safe food is anything sweet or chocolatey — he has a massive sweet tooth and is obsessed w cookies and pastries in particular which ayana baked for him a lot (ill prolly make a whole other post for her in the near future but guys. pastry chef aya. hear me out)

an absolute boss at board games, especially monopoly, and he constantly loves screwing everyone over

extremely hyperfixated on pokemon and owns a bajillion folders filled with cards worth a buttload of money, and a dozen plushies + figurines (projecting bc pokemon is one of my hyperfixes dont judge me) his fav gen is absolutely johto

his eyesight is pretty bad but like. not bad enough for him to be needing glasses (unlike a certain someone cough cough agoti)

speaking of said certain someone, he and agoti do each other's hair a lot simply because its really fun and provides some stimulation, and also because it helps tabi practice with self care and such

VERY SENSITIVE TO SOUND AND TEXTURES, often times he will probably start crying if something sounds or feels wrong

sometimes he forgets certain words in english and has to resort to using what theyre called in russian

has the goofiest sounding laugh ever and i will die on this hill. when you get tabi cackling he will start rolling on the floor and making the most UNGODLY sounds

can speak like 6 languages fluently and a dozen others in simple conversation (NERD ALERT)

he sucks so hard at writing essays but is (for some reason) really good at maths

despite being the more serious one among his group of friends, tabis a dumbass and does a lot more stupid things than one would expect

a long time ago, i made a hack for psmd known as psmd expanded. its been years, and after seeing some people mention it, and wonder where its gone, i thought id make it once again! this time, a little different, including all previous non-starter player characters as well as some new friends! download and notes below :)

Notes:

Due to the way that the hack is set up, the game will start with both the hero and pokemon not having nicknames. (ie; Your hero is Zorua, their name will be Zorua.) This is easily fixed by playing the game until the name change option on the main menu is available. (Right before rescuing goomy for hero, before Drilbur Mine for partner) Also, expect missing portraits and some wonky animations!

Install instructions:

Luma- Place folder on the SD card, under /luma/titles/ Launch game, Luma should take care of the rest as long as you have Luma's hack feature enabled!

How to Shiny Hunt Mew

Alright, I'm gonna share how I hunted Faraway Island Mew in Pokemon Emerald!

You'll need a DS Lite, a copy of Pokemon Emerald, a Micro SD and an R4 card (which you can get here. If you've never used one before, you'll need to look up a different tutorial to set it up). You'll also need to download the Gen3 Event Tool by clicking 'NDSEventTool.nds.' Make sure you have Mystery Gift, too! Go to any Pokemart (shown below) and enter 'LINK TOGETHER WITH ALL.'

Once everything is prepared, save your game in a Pokemon Center. Put the Micro SD into your computer and drag 'NDSEventTool.nds' to the root folder. Remove the Micro SD and put it back into your R4. With Emerald in the GBA slot, insert the R4 into your DS Lite and turn it on. Run NDSEventTool.nds and select 'Old Sea Map.'

Once it says 'done' turn off your console, remove the R4 and turn on Emerald. Go upstairs of any Pokemon Center and claim your Old Sea Map!

Once received, head to Lilycove's shipyard so Mr. Briney can take you to find Mew on Faraway Island. It's crazy this event was never received out of Japan, so being able to experience it (let alone shiny hunt a Mew) is really cool! Hope this was helpful, or at the very least interesting!
