There was something in the air at the entity as the three of them sat on the bridge one warm afternoon, enjoying lunch. It was warm, drifting and weaving through the three of them like a ribbon as Scar leaned over Mumbo, feeding him bites of sandwiches. Grian leaned back, the warmth circling around his head as he sipped on lemonade from Scarland.

From their place on the bridge, they could see all 3 bases, plus a few more. The flag of the Perimeter was barely visible in the fog, for example. Grian smiled fondly in the direction of the buttercups camp before turning back to Mumbo and Scar, laughing as Scar toppled off Mumbo’s lap to land beside him on the bridge instead.

“Be careful. We’re up kinda high, ya know,” Mumbo said, sitting up a bit to make sure Scar was alright. Scar’s grin had not broken on his face, and he used Mumbo leaning over him as an opportunity for a kiss. Mumbo’s ties always made for an amazing handhold.

“Worried about lil old me, darling?” Scar teased, Mumbo’s cheeks flushed a lovely color of pink as he right himself and pulled Scar upright too. Not to be forgotten about, Grian leaned forward over his legs with a pout.

“Mumbo gets kisses, and I don’t now? What is this – some sort of grand Anti-Grian conspiracy?” he asked. His tone was light, and his tricolor wings were spread out to either side of him, just catching the edges of the bridge.

“I’ll have you know I was coming to give you a kiss, mister!” Scar said, leaning forward onto his hand to place a kiss on Grian’s nose. That wasn’t good enough for the avian, who moved his head until their lips slotted together. It was nice, the warm breeze wrapped around their little picnic again as Scar parted ways.

“Well, that didn’t feel very ‘Anti-Grian’ to me, personally,” Scar said. He pushed his short hair back, his own face flushed. Grian didn’t know if it was from the kiss or the sun.

“Well - I still think there’s something going here – maybe Scarland needs a few dozen chickens so it can sort itself out.”

“Grian you wouldn’t dare-”

“Who, me? No – no, I wouldn’t, that’s more of a poultry man thing anyway.” He wore a grin on his face as Scar reached out to tug him closer. He ducked out of the way, silently saluting Mumbo and Scar before diving off the edge of the bridge, his wings open to catch the wind under them. Mumbo’s noise of concern was almost covered entirely by Grian’s own joyous cackling.

hi again. i did end up posting some of my art but idk if there's a way to link it in the ask (kinda new to tumblr lol), so im just gonna trust that you know how to find it. Anyways, I have more questions for you :)

jumping into the deep end w/ traveling thieves:

is there any way to remove a collar without the owner's permission? Could a non-collared person do it? Are they physically destructible? What happens if the owner dies? Basically anything that could free Jimmy and Scott T-T

Can any nether-born wield fire, or just blaze-borns? bc hypothetically, we could get some team ZIT going if impulse is a nether-born (he's normally head cannoned as a demon, but I like the idea of wither skeleton instead for this au, if you don't already have plans for him). he could join Zed and Tango :)))

how does the siren song work? can you get anyone to do anything with it if you were good enough? considering song is in the name, is it more effective if it's more melodic?

how do the rune trigger thingies work? Does the staff need to be continuously touching the person to trigger the collar, or does it have a time limit, or is it a secret third option? (this is for a lil piece i've written that I may or may not post lol)

That's it for now, although I do want to say that it would be adorable if Katherine got Shelby a sun-lamp so she could grow over-city plants down there :3

actually that's not it. it'd be fun if you wrote a piece where Grian helps Mumbo and Scar pull a (not so ethical) job. just an idea :)

I said it in my reblog but again here they are SO PRETTY I love Cute Guy his wings are beautiful and his shoes are so KILLER and then the SWAGON from Traveling Thieves! It's even got Grian's lil bay window! It makes me so happy! I will treasure them, thank you so much for sharing!

Questions questions! 🏃‍♀️

Short answer: No. Long Answer: Not any way that Scott or Jimmy currently have access too. If their current owner dies the contract has a clause that will automatically transfer them to whoever said owner designated as the inheritor, this being a built in safety measure to ensure enslaved hybrids don't try to one-hit kill their masters before a punishment can kick in to go free. They are technically physically destructible but any attempt at cutting them or unlatching them will trigger the punishment runes. And they are very tough, reinforced by the magic in the runes, again to ensure this isn't attempted, so it would be far to painful to attempt to just endure the punishment long enough to cut them off. This doesn't mean it's completely impossible for them to get them off without their current masters permission...but we haven't gotten to that yet. 😉

Blaze-borns specifically can wield fire as physical parts of their body, but other nether hybrids are able to pull similar tricks such as heating up their hands to work metal, and obviously they're fireproof. Plus, considering our lovely dark fantasy AU, some of them have proficiency with fire magic! I do have plans for Impulse in Traveling Thieves! Please look forward to it!

It's basically voice-based charm magic. I may have messed this up, but I'm pretty sure I only ever refer to it as 'siren spells' and not 'siren songs'? Is there anywhere I screwed that up? Siren spells also give the user the ability to make their voice more pleasant and tend to have good singing voices anyway. If someone is extremely good with it (ex: Scott's Dad) they could 100% use it to strongly compel others, but it's not like brainwashing. Like when Scott used it, all it really did was make the ice mage suddenly care about his opinion, and that confused her enough that she hesitated on using magic. It still has to be something understandable. It wouldn't have been enough to, say, get her to fire a spell at her companion and kill him. It's more like it makes the users words much more influential in the mind of whoever is hearing it. It can also do other things, though! Like how I mention that Scott's Dad would sing for the Queen, Scott's Mom, to help her relax, that's not just because he's a beautiful singer (which of course he is) he's also using siren spells to lower her stress.

One hit triggers the punishment runes. A second hit makes them stop. Like an on-off switch! They also specifically have to get hit with the gem at the end of the rune trigger. If you do post anything anywhere please do send another ask/post it somewhere I can see, I'd absolutely love to see what you do with the AU! ☺️

Awwww...Katherine could totally get Shelby a sun-lamp, that'd be so cute! Also I totally plan on writing a piece at some point where the Swagon Trio steal something, it's a series called Traveling THIEVES and there has been a distinct lack of thievery so I need to fix that. 😤

lil bit of grumbo hurt/comfort involving the emotion-eating-watcher lore (more martyn style than hunger au style) scenario: mumbo used to have REALLY bad anxiety and panic attacks, where he'd get really stressed about something, which made it seem more stressful, so he'd get even MORE upset, and then he'd start getting stressed about being stressed, and it was a whole disaster. plus, he'd feel really guilty and ashamed about letting anyone know.

grian, meanwhile, felt terrible about eating people's emotions and was compensating for consistent undereating with lots of use of creative mode and potions and concealing that he was eating emotions at all (trying to pass for a regular flightless avian - it helped that he can eat physical food it just has the nutritional value of flavoured cardboard). mumbo assumed the symptoms from this were from some sort of chronic illness.

when mumbo realized he'd fallen in love with grian, he fell into one of his stress spirals about telling grian. usually he self-isolated during these stress spirals until he was too emotionally exhausted to keep panicking but this time, grian found him.

grian felt horribly guilty about being unable to resist the urge to eat mumbo's panic, right up until mumbo started apologizing for making grian deal with him while he was panicking even if it did make mumbo feel better. one thing lead to another and grian ended up confessing to eating mumbo's panic and liking the taste.

mumbo thanked him for it, and grian ended up calming him down completely. mumbo told him about his romantic feelings, grian asked him if he really wanted a Watcher as his boyfriend.

mumbo said yes, and as well as the normal boyfriend things, grian eating mumbo's anxiety became a regular thing.

Mumbo knows this probably isn't the healthiest way to deal with his anxiety, but this is the best he's felt in years. And he can see how much healthier Grian looks too! Both of them feel good, being able to look after each other like this.

Mumbo doesn't know why Grian being a Watcher would ever be a deal-breaker, though! If anything, he thought his anxiety would be! Which, Grian points out, is exactly what somebody with anxiety would think.

They have been working on techniques for Mumbo to use when Grian isn't around, but this system works for now. And being less anxious makes it a lot easier to try them too!

Total drama traffic series AU

I’m mixing my two obsessions together

The hosts are still Chris and Chef cause I can’t for the life of me imagine anything Total drama without them (This is a callout to the ridonculus race)

So it’s the third life people, simply because I will be following those story beats. Sorry Pearl, Mumbo, and Lizzie.

So we’ve two teams, red’s and green’s.

Theres Grian, Scott, Martyn, Cleo, BigB, Impulse, Joel VS Scar, Jimmy, Ren, Skizz, Tango, Bdubs, Etho

I imagine that the first challenge it was team-less, and so everyone sorta formed their own lil groups. Scar and Grian became buds, Scott and Jimmy, Martyn and Ren, BDubs and Cleo, Etho Tango and Impulse etc. Grian won the challenge, a stay awake challenge, and he gets an immunity totem as a price.

The second challenge is Red Light Green Light, which will determine the teams. The seven people who first loses will be Reds, and the seven people who win will be the greens. Greens will be given the better food, better housing, and an advantage in all future challenges. Very desirable team.

Jimmy falls on his face, so he’s the first red. Grian trips Scar as a joke and accidentally makes him lose, and he feels really bad about it. Bdubs falls on Etho which is how he ends up in red. Tango trips. Skizz does as well. Ren moves on purpose however, later saying in confessional that being on red gives him more of a challenge, plus it’s more dramatic.

Some alliances stay intact though. Grian promises that he’ll get Scar to the final two with him to make up for the “prank”, and if it stood between the two of them Grian will sacrifice himself. Scar has to try and keep him in the game though. They call it the desert alliance, for no real reason.

Martyn is annoyed at Ren for moving on purpose so they’re on different teams, but the man just waves him off, saying that they can still work together, he’s still “The hand of the king” (Whatever that means).

Etho has it out for Bdubs for getting him on the worse team, so Cleo is kinda forced to protect him, mostly cause he’s hiding behind her almost 27/7 (He says he’s not, he’s protecting her back)

Scott laughs a whole lot at Jimmy, but they remain somewhat allies. To be honest Scott just kinda likes the pathetic man, plus he gave him a flower, so there’s that.

I’d say there’s two award challenges before the first elimination challenge.

“Retrieve a piece of paper from a room that slowly fills up with lava, and then get it back without either the paper or you setting on fire. If you touch the lava or burn yourself then you have to go back and tag the next member of your team. First team to get their paper back safely wins immunity”

Team green’s advantage is that they get a turn to try before any reds do, but Joel sorta screws it up immediately.

In the end, Jimmy once again trips when trying to get back from retrieving the paper (giving him some small burns from the lava), and Martyn uses his body as a bridge to avoid walking on the hot floor, giving team green the win.

Jimmy is the one sent home, with a vote from everyone except himself and Etho, who voted Bdubs (Something he will keep on doing)

The next elimination challenge, I have no ideas for. Cleo is the one sent home, but like her deaths give me nothing to work with here. Sadge. Bdubs is now very scared, cause he lost his protection. Tango is his new safe haven, and the guy doesn’t mind it really.

Next challenge, both teams have to defuse a bomb. Green team’s advantage is two extra minutes on the clock. Skizz ends up cutting the wrong wire that blows up their bomb, so he’s voted off.

Next, the teams have to tame three dogs each to fight, and then pit them against one another. Green’s advantage is that they get three pitbulls, while team red get three chihuahuas. Joel spends all their training time cuddling the dogs though, making them his pals, while Ren has a way with dogs so he can get the little pups properly riled up.

When the two dog squads are pitted against one another, Team Green’s are nothing but friendly while Team Red’s are ready to kill.

Joel gets voted off.

I’m at a loss for Scott’s booting too, sorry lads

Next challenge is a kind of, protect the fort challenge, except it’s a tree instead. Team red must protect a great oak tree, while team green try and cut it down. Their advantage is a chainsaw.

This is where the Desert alliance starts to come into play, as Grian manages to break the chainsaw. Scar, knowing that if team green lost then Grian would get the boot, decides to wait until the rest of team red are off chasing away the greens, then burns the tree down.

Etho manages to catch him in the act and accuses him of helping the other team, but Scar being Scar twists the scenario in his favor, making it seem like Etho was the one who burnt the tree. Since the tree is technically cut down, team green wins and Etho is booted.

(Bdubs also manages to see this happen, but swears not to tell any of the others, but Scar does owe him one)

The challenge after that is a cow herding one. Cows are released into a forest, and the team who manages to get the most into their pen wins. Green’s get the advantage of horses, while Red have to use goats.

Tango has had ranch experience in the past, so he does a really good job herding cows. His one flaw is that he doesn’t bring them back to the red pen, instead riding around with them to flaunt. This makes it easy for the greens to steal them, making the reds loose the challenge. Tango gets the boot.

This is where the merge happens. The remaining players are Ren, Martyn, Impulse, Grian, Scar, BigB, and Bdubs.

Their first merge challenge is a paintball hide and seek one. Chef will hunt the contestants for two hours, and then one with the most paint on them at then end of it has to go home.

Ren ends up sacrificing himself for Martyn, hopping in front of him to protect him from a direct hit. He ends up soaked in paint, and is out. Martyn smooches him as a thank you though, promising to win for both of them.

Next challenge is a cooking one. The remaining are paired up randomly, and are forced to cook the most disgusting meals they can to feed to the other. First to make their opponent throw up is safe from elimination.

Martyn gets paired up with Scar, BigB with Bdubs, and Impulse with Grian. While most of them make pretty awful things (Bdubs and Impulse were the ones who threw up in their respective match ups), Scar ends up actually poisoning Martyn, to the point where he can no longer compete. Tragic end.

Five left.

Next we have a treasure hunt. All five of them are told to find one of four things, the person who doesn’t find their treasure is eliminated.

Scar and Grian team up to find the Llama and banner respectively, landing them in first and second place. BigB finds the sword on his own. Impulse and Bdubs were teamed up, until Bdubs spots the last item (a golden clock), and pushes Impulse out of the way to get it. Impulse comes in last, and goes home.

Four left. Objective, steal a cookie. Sounds easy enough? Well, you have to steal a cookie from chef, who does not like when people steal from his kitchen.

Lucky for Grian, Scar has been stealing cookies during the duration of the entire show, so the two get first and second once more. Bdubs cashes in on his favor here, forcing Scar to tell him how to steal the cookie. BigB looses, because of forces out of his control.

Final three, Scar, Bdubs, and Grian.

Grian thinks that this is a safe way to the finale, since the Desert alliance is still in motion. But in a surprising twist, Scar turns on Grian and teams up with Bdubs.

I don’t know what the challenge is yet, but I do know that Scar wins, Bdubs second, and Grian comes in last. But, to everyone’s surprise, Grian pulls out the immunity totem he’s been saving for all this time, that everyone had forgotten about, including Chris!

So Grian is safe, and Bdubs is off.

The final challenge is similar to the finale in Revenge of the Isle, it being an arena battle with a bunch of misc items being used as weapons.

All previous contestants are Brought back, Bdubs taking extra protection behind Cleo cause now Impulse and BigB are upset with him too, Martyn still feeling a little iffy and leaning heavily on Ren, and Scott and Jimmy having matching poppies in their hair.

When the two finalists goes to fight though, Scar surprises everyone by getting down on his knees and surrendering, stating that he betrayed their alliance and doesn’t deserve to win.

Grian, who was fuming and ready to beat the shit out of Scar for betraying him, softens slightly. The previous contestants boo, mostly cause they want a fight, but Scar refuses.

So Grian bonks him on the head, he falls dramatically to the ground and pretends to die for a solid three minutes, and Grian wins 100 000 dollars.

(That is until the price gets upped for a second season. You bet your ass I’m doing a part two)

(Also gladly taking suggestions for Cleo, Scott, and Bdubs elimination challenges)

I'm sorry, u think I might be bothering u for a while with my Lil idea, lmao

So I've been thinking about how grian would kinda become protective of Jimmy. Because hey! That dude holds his life in his hands, too! If something happens to him, it happens to Grian, too.

At first, he thought of it as a drag, as something he had to do, being over stressed and paranoid.

It didn't help that all of his previous relationships/partnerships ended by his own hands; mumbo and Scar (if we actually talking about it, it actually also includes dl, once again scar, plus bigb. The only time he didn't was with bad boys, but still he back then came to conclusion that they were going to die before him anyway).

But then Grian saw that Jimmy was capable, and even he was a little overprotective of Grian. In the end, they had each other, no matter what shifty situation they were in rn.

People undermistate Jimmy, maybe ye, he isn't the best fighter, and he does have a knack to turning people on him, but he's good alwhen there's someone to lead him.

He's a team player, and while he won't give u anything grand when it comes to pvp, non, the less, he IS usefully and helpful.

ah dont worry dont worry maybe he does it a bit too much, maybe even babying jimmy and "forcing" him to stay in their base because he doesnt want to risk jimmy doing dangerous stuff - maybe it does lead to a death because enemies attack their base His losing his previous partners due to his own hand/fault maybe leads to grian not getting close to jimmy, fearing he will do it again. (i mean this au would probably not include lim life because it hasnt happened yet) maybe jimmy saves grian and grian is confronted with the fact that jimmy is a good teammate He isnt the best at pvp but he does have the ability to step back and look at a situation and he sometimes provokes pity from others and is underestimated so they dont think jimmy would pull a big thing. Grian could use that to his advantage

We all know that Grian is a born leader by Skizz’s own words during the affirmations in Limited Life— and it’s quite obvious too- and Lizzie is also somewhat leader like in Last Life, so these two are definitely the ones busting out plans, strategies and orders— but Grian probably does the most-

Now with Lizzie and Scar, they would go messing around in a sense of just meeting others and or getting supplies— if anything the two would be very friendly since they both can be silly and speak lil bloodthirsty talk. I don’t know, just silliness between these two and that’s all I can imagine!

All together, they can pull pretty good punches! Plus! They are all a lil evil in their own ways.

Grian can be evil by just given TnT and reason.

Scar can be evil by just being red and stolen animals from him.

Lizzie can be evil if given a reason.

They all can be evil together and they are great at intimidating others definitely! Honestly I can just imagine either them being super op or super silly and a mix of all that.

This is all I got and I hope it was good— currently is 5 am for how long I’ve working on this while binge watching Lizzie after so many years of not watching her— and man oh man have I missed watching her.

Anyways Uhm if I do have any ideas or crazy things, I’ll just post about it but running on so far not much sleep, I’ll putt this to a close!

I just think the dynamic of Tubbo teaming up with his two past murderers to rescue his and his late husband's son is really funny Especially him making up with Techno and kinda forgiving him for the execution but also dunking on Eret for the final control room I just think seeing more of them would have been cool, seeing them grow from there and maybe have Eret and Tubbo make up as well (though I also haven't seen a lot of the post-jailbreak lore, I joined the fandom late and piecing everything together is hard, so maybe there is more that I haven't seen yet)

I'm too weak-hearted and have too-strong opinions im just gonna say it

I feel like bursting into flames whenever i read anything even remotely relating to grian using bigb to forget/distance himself from scar. I CANT... I HATE IT (/LH)

I'm just able to do surface level analysis but still.

Grian came forward and BigB reciprocated. They exchanged hearts!! A lil warped on the cookie side but still!!

What does desert duo have? Sure, they have a complex and intricating web of stories through all the three seasons of the Life Smp plus the Hardcore series for those who want that extra flair. And sure, their story is absolutely heartwrenching and fun to interpret, especially since they're silly block men

BUT, you know what desert duo doesn't have!

The commitment without obligation!

3rd Life, Grian only initially partnered with Scar out of obligation as payment for his prank gone wrong! Sure, after Grian lost his first life he still stuck with Scar even through the no-kill-pass betrayal....

LAST LIFE. I havent actually watched their povs but im 90% sure grian scammed Scar of a heart and then just chilled with the southlanders until that went up into flames! No reason for commitment, therefore, went on his own!!

And now DOUBLE LIFE. Commited with Scar for the reason that they both with simply perish if one mistake occurs!

Grian already puts a lot of commitment into Scar!! They make each other worse and I love that for them!!! BUT SOMETHING ABOUT GRIAN CHOOSING TO LOVE SOMEONE ELSE, OUT OF HIS OWN VOLITION AND NOT BECAUSE THE UNIVERSE THOUGHT "THIS IS HOW IT MUST BE" FOR HIM REALLY GETS ME GOING.

It reminds me of when everyone made the parallels with grian and scott. Scott broke the rules and grian followed them. Except this time, Grian chose to bend them. He chose to bypass it. For BigB!

How can you be loving the wrong person when it feels so right? When they love you back just as much? You don't need history with someone to love them. You don't have to be complicated either.

Sometimes, you just love and be loved.
