But like. What if bellamy's anomaly ghost is clarke during praimfiya (idk how to spell it). And then it morphs to her radio calls- and they are tortured messages from her worst moments (ofc it's bellamy's imaginings so it's bad, and he'd feel hella guilty).

Honestly I don’t think that we probably DO get to see Bellamy’s anomaly ghosts. But I will say, I don’t know if the radio calls would be heard as part of Bellamy’s anomaly ghost bc isn’t it in his head, what he would hallucinate due to the anomaly? And he hasn’t heard the calls yet, so his mind doesn’t have that information to work with. Maybe he imagines the calls, but it would be his imagination and not what Clarke canonically said. Even with Hope seeing Octavia, her mind can make that up because she does know Octavia, she just forgot she does. But still, even Bellamy imagining Clarke’s calls, of her in pain, would be so heartbreaking.

But regardless I think we’ll definitely see Bellamy face his “ghosts” - we’ve seen Octavia’s and Clarke’s ghosts last season and we’ve seen Echo’s now too. It would make sense, especially since we never saw what was going on in Bellamy’s POV in 6x02 when he was going crazy. Always thought that was an interesting narrative choice, leaving out his POV during that scene when they showed the others’. I thought there was maybe a reason for that but then nothing came of it - but maybe it’s because they were waiting for this season.

As I write this and think of POV, I do think we didn’t really seen what’s going on in Bellamy’s head last season. Maybe this was only me, but I felt like there was always a feeling of viewing him from the outside, like the season was Clarke POV because of the mindspace and even Octavia’s POV minus the anomaly disappearance. This may be the season of Bellamy’s POV, where we get a deeper look at his demons and ghosts. Bellamy has so much to potentially “haunt him” but I’m not sure that there’s anything that screwed him up like leaving and losing Clarke.

Which, to be fair, isn’t really a *bad* thing be did, like the Mt. Weather massacre, the massacre of the grounders under Pike, or maybe even making Madi the commander (given he’s never apologized for that I’m not sure if that’s a ghost to him). In fact has he stayed it would have meant Clarke watching him die, and maybe their other friends dying because of his absence. But despite doing the *right* thing by leaving Clarke behind I think it probably haunted him most, even though he had *no choice* really, if he wanted to save their friends.

But I’d love to see him leaving Clarke addressed at all - I could be wrong and forgetting but did we ever get a conversation where they address that? Sure Clarke tells him to not feel bad on the radio but he never heard it. It would be interesting to see a conversation similar to S2 by the fire - “Last time I saw you, you were closing the dropship door. Had to be done.” But we haven’t had Clarke telling Bellamy the that, as far as I remember.

I DO think the radio calls will come into play again. I go back and forth but now I’m on that side again given the possibility of memory loss or Bellamy simply losing his mind. I think whether the horrible ones are used to torture him or the fluff ones are used to bring him back remains to be seen. Maybe both? I’m just not sure it’ll be via anomaly ghosts.

But overall, I do think this season we’ll see Bellamy facing demons and I think we’ll see the calls coming into play, either to break him or bring him back. Lmao I’m probably wrong, but it makes sense to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

How do you feel about butterfly assassin? I have mixed feelings atm. I think, based on promo pics, next episode will really solidify my opinion on them.

I think there is a lotof potential for Ilian and O to be a lot of really important,meaningful, challenging things to each other. I have no problem with theirrelationship being dark (at least initially); they have both sufferedenormously, they’ve both been consumed by vengeance and they’re both going tobe grappling with questions about who they are when they come out the otherside.

I’m not thrilled aboutthe optics of Octavia holding a gun to a MOC’s head, particularly becauseviolence against POC is an established pattern of hers, but within the story itis not an outlandish thing for her to do; Ilian just burned down the place theywere going to use as shelter from Praimfiya. He didn’t know the fullconsequences of what he was doing, but he definitely knew his actions were atbest going to make an entire people homeless and at worst kill them. I don’tendorse Octavia’s choice there, but I do understand it – and I think that’s thestance that Kane will have, and which will be supported in the narrative.

My issue has always beenthat the show did not criticize other instances of Octavia’s violence; it seemsfrom the promo pics that Octavia will not go unchallenged on this one. Andthere is a clear, glaring parallel between Octavia holding that gun to Ilian’shead and Pike holding his to Lincoln’s; Octavia has (and it will becrystallized in that moment, I hope) become very much like the person she hatedmost in the world. Assuming that is deliberate and they lean into it, that’s asearing condemnation the show is making, and while I wish things didn’t need togo that far, it jives with Octavia’s characterization that it will takesomething pretty big to knock her off her self-righteous boots and intoself-examination.

So although the promopics are concerning, and definitely don’t suggest that Ilian x Octavia is goingto be in a good place in 4x06, I am still cautiously hopeful about the shapeButterfly Assassin will take a little further down the track. Lincoln was atotal kindred spirit to the girl who chased butterflies, but I think Ilian is akindred spirit to her darker side. Interacting with him will prompt her to dealwith her views on justice, revenge, loss, forgiveness, guilt, family… I amexcited about where it could go, because I can see Ilian and Octavia helpingeach other rediscover their humanity. And giving Octavia a romance with someonewho is just as stubborn and righteous as her could be good for her. I’m hopingshe’s met her match.
