Some Ami x Zoisite content for my lovely @quicksilverblue. Not quite her version of Z, but I always loved her idea of giving Z predominantly ice powers that work well with Mercury's water.

I had said that my last Mermay drawing based on this series would be published tomorrow, but I went ahead and wanted to publish it today!!
I literally haven't drawn anything related to Sailor Moon since 2020, one of my supposed (and only) favorite animes, I hope in some distant future to make more FanArts of this beautiful franchise 🥲✨🌙

Princess Couture: Mercury
(This series isn't dead! I just only write an entry every 1-3 years, lmao. I'm determined to finish the series up this year, as only Uranus and Serenity are left)
Unlike Jupiter and Venus's extravagant gowns, or Mars's simpler yet still striking one, Princess Mercury's gown is the plainest of the Inner Senshi (at least in my opinion). I feel like this showcases Ami's more practical and modest personality. Ami is a person who doesn't really like to draw attention to herself, which is reflected in her clothes; they're cute, but she never really wears anything that's impossible to ignore.
That being said, the bodice of Mercury's gown features a lighter shade of blue, and there’s gauze and jewels. After all, Ami still wants some extravagance to her gown. I also think it's interesting that Mercury's dress features a sort of gauze "cape" on the back, which none of the other Inners have but is a unifying trait among the Outer Senshi dresses. I don't think it really means anything, but it's still interesting! Finally, the blue in Mercury's gown represents water, while the light blue bodice could represent ice, Mercury's other element.
As for the color, blue represents calmness and coolness. Blue is said to have a soothing effect on people. It is the color associated with water, which explains why so many people find it relaxing. In addition, blue is associated with depth and perception, wisdom, intelligence, peace, trust, truth, loyalty, order, and stability. Of course, all of these attributes can be applied to Ami. She is as calm as a still lake and considered to be the smartest of the Senshi.
When you combine all these factors, it results in a gown that's perfect for Mercury!
