WH0 R U???
Warnings: Professor!Reader, Tara eye-fucking you, and that’s all I believe.
Summary: Tara’s attractive Professor comes to the rescue.
A/N: I’ll be doing a part 2 soon w smut 🥲
part 2
Tumblr media
Several years of school, scholarly work, and teaching experience led you here.
To Blackmore University. You were younger than the average professor, but your dedication and passion for education set you apart.
You were professional and not one to be pushed around. That much was clear when you set foot inside your literature classroom for the first time.
English was always your favorite subject, and you excelled in it throughout your academic journey. So, why wouldn't you pursue a career in teaching English at the university level?
However, for the next few months, you won't be teaching literature. Instead, you'll be filling in for your co-worker Laura, who's away on FML, taking on the role of teaching film study.
While you may not have much experience teaching film, Laura was desperate for someone to cover her classes, and you were willing to help out. She's been nothing but sweet to you. Plus, how hard could it be? You've watched movies before.
When you walked into the classroom on your first day, late in the afternoon, you were greeted by a bunch of drama kids who were honestly confused; you could see it in their faces.
They were expecting Laura, their experienced film study teacher, but instead they got you, someone with little to no teaching experience in film.
"Professor Y/LN?" Jason Carvey, a student from your previous class, asked with a puzzled expression.
"What happened to Laura? We were really looking forward to her class."
You took a deep breath, placing your belongings on the desk at the front of the classroom.
"Unfortunately, Laura had an unexpected personal matter to attend to and won't be able to teach this semester. But don't worry, I may not have much teaching experience in film, but I'll try my best."
You reassured the students, hoping to alleviate their disappointment. "Professor Crane provided me with some materials and resources to help guide us through the semester. Additionally, I've been doing my own research to ensure that we have a fulfilling learning experience in this class."
You give the class a tight-lipped smile before opening your briefcase.
"Well, shall we get started?"
Tara didn't know exactly what it was about you that made her eyes widen and her heart begin racing. Sure, anyone could see you were attractive, young, and obviously confident, but there was something more captivating about your presence.
Was it your voice? Was it how you commanded the room with your words? Or perhaps it was the way you'd lean back against the desk, crossing your built arms as your eyes scanned the room, exuding an air of authority.
Tara found herself drawn to you like a magnet, unable to tear her gaze away. She was intrigued by the air of mystery that surrounded you, wondering what secrets lay behind your confident façade.
As class went on, Tara's dark brown eyes scanned over you like a predator assessing its prey. From your perfectly styled hair to your amazingly kept eyebrows, your enchanting y/e/c eyes, to your sultry lips—don't get her started on your sculpted jawline.
You were a sight to take in, captivating and commanding attention without even trying. You presented yourself with an effortless grace that made it impossible for anyone to look away.
Your white button-up shirt was crisp and tailored, hugging your form in all the right places, and your black slacks were perfectly pressed, accentuating the length and strength of your legs.
Tara's stare flew back up, staring at the bulge in your pants, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment and desire—
"—Tara, is it? What do you think?" Tara quickly snapped out of her momentary distraction, her cheeks still flushed.
She cleared her throat and tried to regain her composure before responding, "Oh, I'm sorry. Could you please repeat the question?"
You smile, showcasing your charming dimples and perfect smile. While Tara was in her trance, you found yourself relaxing into the class's discussion, feeling like you no longer needed to put on your strict professor persona.
You leaned back, crossing your legs. "How do you think directors like Quentin Tarantino push the boundaries of traditional storytelling in their films? Do you believe their unique approaches have a lasting impact on the film industry?"
Tara nods, playing with the pencil that sits in front of her. "Yeah, I think directors like Tarantino definitely push the boundaries of traditional storytelling, especially with their unique approaches that challenge the audience's expectations and keep them engaged. Like Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction, for example, and how he used non-linear narrative structure and unconventional use of violence to create a distinct cinematic experience that stands out from the mainstream. Peak cinema at its finest."
You raise an eyebrow, impressed. "You surely know your film." The freckled-faced girl giggles in response, dropping her gaze to her hands.
At the end of the lecture, Tara approaches you with a small smile on her face. You look up from your notes, which Laura had given you, and it also confuses the fuck out of you. With a quirked eyebrow, you meet Tara's gaze, your face softening.
"Oh, Tara. Need something?" Tara hesitates for a moment before speaking. "Actually, I was wondering if you'd accept my late work. Professor Crane gave me extra time to complete it, but I still couldn't finish on time. I understand if you can't, but I thought it was worth asking."
You bite on your lower lip, not noticing how quickly Tara's eyes drop to the action. "Uh, sure." You rip out a piece of paper from your notebook and write down a quick note.
"Here's my number. I lost the login to my email, so this will have to do. Send me your late work, and I'll make sure it gets to Professor Crane. Just make sure to include your name and the assignment details in the text so there's no confusion. I'll do my best to help you out."
Tara's eyes light up with relief as she thanks you profusely. "I really appreciate it, thank you so much." You nod, giving her a tight-lipped smile before focusing back on your notes.
A few days later, you're home alone, eating a bowl of ice cream while you watch the movie Stab. Suddenly, your phone buzzes with a new message. Your eyes fight to tear away from the screen, and you reluctantly pick up your phone to check the message.
+1 (347) 871-1921: wh0 r u???
You squint at the unfamiliar number, puzzled by the message. After a moment of hesitation, you reply.
You: I'm sorry, but I think you have the wrong number. Who are you trying to reach?
+1 (347) 871-1921: profdsser y/ln
You furrow your brow, trying to decipher the cryptic message. It doesn't make any sense to you. Curiosity getting the better of you, you decide to respond one more time. You: I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you're saying. Can you please clarify?
+1 (347) 871-1921: rolling eyes emoji
+1 (347) 871-1921: three ht poreffesor whofilling for ms crane?
Was this Tara? You put down your bowl of ice cream; this had to be Tara. And she had to be drunk. You take a deep breath before responding again.
You: Tara, is that you? Are you okay? It seems like you're drunk.
+1 (347) 871-1921: ummmmmmmmm
+1 (347) 871-1921: busted
You: Tara, I'm really concerned about you. Is everything alright? Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
Tara: iamat the frt house
Tara: canyoucum pik me up, pleas?
You twist your lips, concerned about Tara's well-being and the fact that she is asking for a ride. Surely she had friends with her. You didn't want to leave her stranded, but you also didn't want to be the professor driving their students home from a wild party. However, you take a moment to gather yourself before responding.
You: Of course, Tara. I'll be there to pick you up. Just send me the address, and I'll be on my way.
Tara has started sharing their location with you.
You see the location pop up on your phone, quickly checking the estimated time of arrival, and mentally prepare yourself to pick up your drunk student.

Tara hates three things in her life. You, hairless cats, and soggy bread. In that order too
She could handle hating hairless cats and soggy bread, but you? You were in Tara’s friend group. Tara hated you and to make matters worse, she was the only one that did
You were nerdy like Wes and Ethan, quick-witted and funny like Mindy and Amber, athletic like Chad, charismatic like Quinn, protective like Sam, and (allegedly) nice like Anika. You had nearly every one of her friends best traits, but Tara knew why she didn’t like you. You were really fucking annoying
Along with all of your positive traits, you were loud and obnoxiously social. Not that Tara was antisocial or anything, but god you were on a whole other level. It was mildly infuriating how you could go to a party you knew nobody at and somehow come out with more friends than you started with
All those people and you decided Tara was the one you’d annoy. A nudge to her shoulder made Tara look up from where she was putting her head down
“You look like shit” The brunette doesn’t respond and puts her head back down on the table
“Sam tase someone without your permission again?” Tara could practically hear the smirk in your voice
“Please for the love of god shut the fuck up. Your voice is the last thing I need to hear today”
“Woah, someone’s mad” You stick out your tongue in response at the glare Tara sends your way
“Suck my dick, (Y/n).”
“Don’t tempt me with a good time, Carpenter”
Tara abruptly leaves the lecture room. You think you really fucked up this time, but let out a breath of relief when you see that Tara didn’t grab her things. She was probably going to the bathroom to escape you. Which, who would ever want to escape you?
Apparently not Tara because she’s back in her seat just a few minutes before the lecture starts
“Aspirin?” You grab the bottle from a pocket in your bag, shaking it next to her
“You have Aspirin laying around?”
“Anika told me you were at a party, I figured it’s the least I could do”
“You’re trying to drug me, aren’t you?”
“If I was trying to drug you, I would’ve offered it to you at the end of class”
“Why weren’t you at the party?” Tara asks, taking the bottle from you hands and shaking out two tablets before downing them with some water
“Missed me?”
“Nope, just surprised you weren’t blackout drunk”
“Good to know you think highly of me. I was studying, thank you”
“You? Study?” Tara scoffs
“Don’t act like the idea is so out of this world”
“Right, because last time I remember you passing up a party was because your betta fish died and you forced all of us to have a funeral for him at the park”
“Trout’s death is not one to be made fun of!”
Before Tara can respond, the professor starts talking and the lesson begins. Unfortunately her head is still kind of throbbing with only mildly wanting to throw up. She had to accept she wasn’t going to get anything done until that Aspirin kicked in. Especially when she can feel you staring at her
The class goes as smoothly as it can and you notice Tara hasn’t made an effort to even try to take notes. The lesson eventually ends and when everyone gets up, the brunette begrudgingly does too
You bump your shoulders together and Tara glares at you with enough power you actually manage to feel fear for a split second until you realize it’s Tara. The girl was like two apples tall. Two and a half on a good day
The brunette doesn’t realize you were handing her a paper so you physically have to place it in her hand. Her eyebrows furrow in confusion
“What is this?”
“Notes, you need them”
“I’m not buying you Raising Canes if that’s what you want”
“Since I’m such a good friend, I’ll give it to you free of charge. Just make sure to bring it back with minimal damage”
“You’re not gonna make me Paypal you fifty bucks?” Tara doesn’t have any classes for the next few hours so you two made a point to walk to your next class. She didn’t know how it started, but you were okay to talk to when you weren’t being annoying
“In my defense, Trout recently died”
“We buried him in the fucking park, I don’t think that costs money”
“It was condolence money. I made everyone pay and I think it was pretty genius”
“I really do wonder how you still have friends”
//-//
Someone knocks on the door of you and Anika’s apartment. When you realize your roommate is probably listening to music that was too loud to be healthy, you get up from your very comfortable bed
You don’t remember ordering food and you’re pretty sure Anika didn’t invite Mindy over, so the person behind the door was probably just the nice old lady across the hall that made cookies for everyone
For better or for worse, you’re met with a Tara Carpenter that’s caught off guard when you open the door. Tara usually sees you in well put together outfits so you can only imagine her surprise when she sees you wearing boxers that outlined your cock and a hoodie that barely covered it up
“Eyes are up here- What brings you to the Mojo Dojo Casa House?”
“Can’t you just let me in?” Tara’s cheeks burn in embarrassment. Thank god you just glossed over… it
“It’s protocol you identify yourself and state why you’re here” You lean on the doorframe, actively blocking the entrance to your apartment. Tara knew this was a losing battle and hated how you looked hot while winning
“Anika and I have a project we need to work on”
“You didn’t identify yourself” you’re wearing that same dumbass smirk you have after telling a horrible joke
“Tara. Tara fucking Carpenter.”
“Unfortunately I don’t think we know any Tara Fucking Carpenters. Guess you can’t come in” you shrug
“God give me patience.” Tara rubs at her temples like you’re giving her a headache
“Isn’t it god give me strength?”
“If god gave me strength, you would be dead.”
“Point taken, but you still need a password”
“You didn’t say anything about a password!”
“Yeah, well, I don’t know if you’re the real Tara or not. Say a fact about me only the real Tara would know”
The brunette pretends to think for a moment, even putting her hand on her chin and looking off into the distance for effect. When she notices you’re starting to get suspicious of her antics Tara pushes you though the door, successfully getting in without a password or confirmation
You stumble back almost like a cartoon character and you can hear Tara let out a small laugh. You can see the dimples on her cheeks whe she tries to cover it up with her hand
“Nika, your friend’s here!” You lead Tara to Anika’s room, making sure to knock loudly while Tara’s busy either checking you out or trying to blow you up with her mind. It’s unclear, but you have to lean towards the latter
“Isn’t Tara your friend too?” Your roommate opens the door, headphones around her neck
“No.”
“Yes.” Both of you say in unison. The look you give each other is almost comical with how Tara’s glaring while you’re smiling. Anika stares blankly between you two and it eventually starts to make more sense
“Stop eye fucking each other, we have work to do” Anika pulls Tara into her room. You shrug, heading off to probably yell at ten year olds on Fortnite or something
“We were not eye fucking” the shorter girl huffs, sitting on Anika’s bed
“I literally opened my door and thought you two were about to make out”
“I didn’t expect to get interrogated when I came here!” Tara flops onto her back, covering her eyes and trying (and failing) to stop the red that dusted her cheeks
“Whatever, I’ll get you to crack later”
“Kill yourself.”
//-//
Tara doesn’t understand what she’s feeling when she sees some random girl grind against you
It’s like that one scene in Euphoria when Maddy and Nate stare each other down at the school dance, except you were looking far more more bored. That is, until you see Tara glaring at both of you
Like a switch turned on, you’re suddenly more interested in the girl. You encourage her grinding with a hand kneading her hip, using your other hand to take a sip of your drink. And just like Maddy, she’s tempted to find Chad to do the same to you. She doesn’t.
Tara fucking hated you. But she also needed you now.
Making you jealous would take too long. In theory she had the time, but her hunger to taste you was making her do things she would’ve never thought of before. One of those things being grabbing your hand and leading you away from any girl that tried to even look at you.
The girl who was grinding on you calls her a bitch among other things, but Tara knows it’s worth it when she sees you smile at her like she’s your entire world. Because she was your entire world
She leads you into an empty guest bedroom of the house, locking the door before getting close enough to you she can smell the alcohol in your breath
“What’s all this about, Tar?” You grin. Tara doesn’t know if she wants to kiss or slap that smirk right off of your annoying face
“You know what this is fucking about.”
“Do I? I think you should spell it out for me.”
“You know, I’ve had it with your attitude.” Tara jabs a finger at your chest, the back of your knees hitting the end of the bed. In one motion you sit down and bring Tara down with you. You make her sit on your cock
“Anyone ever tell you you’re fucking hot when you’re mad?” You smile, finding the blush on Tara’s cheeks absolutely adorable
“Only you.”
“Good. How about we keep it that way, baby?”
“You’re so annoying.” The brunette cups your face with both of her hands, your lips fitting together like they were always meant to
“I know I am” You say in between kisses, your hands finding their way up Tara’s shirt, kneading the spot right under her boob. She forces your hand to stimulate her nipple, eliciting a moan from her mouth
“You’re so pretty, Tar. I can’t believe only I get to see you get all hot and bothered” You smile breathlessly
“Fuck. S-Stop talking like that or you’ll make me like you” Biting a hickey on Tara’s neck, you take of her shirt and her bra in a flurry of heat
“I bet you’ll like me even more when you’re bouncing on my cock” You force Tara to grind on the bulge in your pants, earning you a small whimper that makes you smile
“C’mon, all you have to do is admit you like me and I’ll fuck you better than anyone has” It should be considered torture how much you were teasing Tara. You were biting hickeys on her neck, playing with her nipples, all while a few layers of fabric were the only barriers between your dick and her pussy. Fuck you knew how to overstimulate a girl
Laying Tara on on the bed, you could really tease the brunette better in this position. You can feel the Tara’s wetness through her soaked panties, and you’re sure she can feel the pre-cum leak out of your cock. Your hands are on her hips as if you were thrusting, yet you deny her and your pleasure for the sake of being an ass
“Don’t you want me to ruin you for anyone else? I promise I’ll stretch you out so good no other guys’ cock can fill you up like me.”
“Fuck you. I hate you, you’re s-such a fucking asshole, you know that?” Tara reaches for anything she can hold onto, your arms being the nearest thing
“I can think ways you could ‘hate’ me even more” You smile when Tara reaches to take off her panties but you find her hands first. You intertwine your hands together and the action is so soft Tara almost forgets about the situation she’s in. Almost
“Whenever I masturbate I think of you, did you know that? God, sometimes I have these hookups and all I can think about is you cumming around my cock”
Tara thinks it’s embarrassing how she’s about to cum just by your sickeningly sweet voice and the constant friction between you two. Tara also thinks she’d rather die than miss an opportunity of a lifetime.
Sure you were a cocky pain in the ass, but you were her cocky pain in the ass.
“Fuck- I admit it! I think you’re the hottest fucking person in the world. I like you.” Tara looks straight into your eyes, and the smile reserved only for her makes another appearance
“That wasn’t so hard, was it Tar?”
“I still hate you.” You unbuckle your belt and unbutton and unzip your jeans with watchful eyes. You pull down your boxers just enough so that your cock springs out, making Tara’s mouth water. Fuck you were big
Pulling Tara’s panties to the side, she’s dripping wet when you swipe your finger across her slit
“Fuck- (Y-Y/n)” Tara sings when you lick up her juices with your tongue. She buries her hands in your hair, bringing you closer to her dripping cunt. You moan at her taste and the vibrations are almost enough to get Tara to cum. Almost
You rise to your knees, lining up your dripping cock with the shorter girls dripping pussy. You decide to be evil and rub your dick against her slit before easing your tip into her hole. It was infuriating how slow you were going and Tara remembers why she hated you in the first place
Tara’s whining and whimpering under you and you can’t remember a time where you’ve been happier than in this moment
Tara on the other hand, has never hated you more in her life than in this moment
The younger Carpenter decides to be bold when she grabs your shirt and forces you forward. You’re caught off guard and over half of your cock finds itself nestled tightly in her pussy as you catch yourself with your arms
“Y-You’re sneaky, aren’t ‘cha” With your face so close to hers, Tara realizes you’re as much of a victim to your teasing as she is. She can tell it’s taking everything inside of you not to fuck her raw until your dick is limp and Tara’s legs are sore
“You can go fast. I can handle it, baby” Tara cups your face with her hand, stroking your cheek with such softness like you aren’t literally lodged into her cunt like a dog in heat
With that confirmation, you give Tara a peck on the lips and buck your hips in such a way you hit that spongey spot inside of her
The sound of skin slapping is louder than the blasting music downstairs, but your grunting and Tara’s moaning combined are louder than both. Thank god the owner of the house was your friend because you don’t know if you could come out of that room if this is what Tara sounded like
“Fuck- I’m close” You say a little too breathlessly for your liking
“Don’t p-pull out.” The shorter girl uses your shirt as leverage to keep you inside of her. Your eyebrows furrow in confusion
“T-Too messy, don’t feel like cleaning up.” Tara answers between moans like she can read your mind
The familiar heat you’re so used to finally snaps. Wrapping her legs around yours, you cum with almost a guttural whine. Your orgasm is enough for Tara to have hers and you fuck her through it, making sure none of your cum drips out of her hole
You pull out and a few dribbles of your semen flow out of her cunt. You plug her pussy with your fingers and Tara is far too sensitive to handle it
“D-Don’t tell me you’re tired already?” Tara jokes, but all air in her lungs leave when you let out a laugh of your own
“I’ve got all night, love.”
Tara has to remember to make you buy her a morning after pill.

𝑫𝑶𝑪𝑻𝑶𝑹’𝑺 𝑻𝑹𝑬𝑨𝑻𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑻
Part 2
Pairing: Tara Carpenter x fem!Reader
Summary: After so long Tara finally meets you again... only this time a little drunk.
Word count: 3k
Tumblr media
It has now been a couple of weeks since visiting the hospital. People would think that Tara has already forgotten about what happened but the opposite is true. In those weeks there wasn´t a day she would not think about you. Her mind was repeating what happened and everytime a smile grew on her face. Mindy and Chad started to make fun of her, saying she looked like a kid first time having a crush. She doesn´t care.
Tara wanted to see you, so badly. She started thinking about how to get to see you again, like she would play another attack and go to the hospital, which to be honest was too cruel, or she would just go there and act like she had some examination and suddenly she saw you start to talk with you, then you would ask her to go on a date with her, you would start dating and-
God, she needs to stop. Young Carpenter sighed and put her head on the table. The voice of her professor was muted in her ears, today she felt like sleeping, just laying in her bed all day doing nothing. It was friday and she promised to go to some party. Mindy has been talking about it forever.
„Mindy I´m not in a mood right now.“ The girl turned her forehead against the table.
„I didn´t even say anything!“ Mindy scanned the shorter girl, looking for any signs of sickness. „You don´t feel good?“ she asked now with a normal tone. Tara shook her head.
„Well then we should probably call some doctor, who knows, maybe they will help you.“ Tara punched the girl beside her, making an angry noise from being teased on.
„Who does he think he is?!“ Tara was angry. They were currently at the party Mindy talked about. Everything was fine at first, everyone was minding their business, and they danced and drank, talked and joked around. It was so much fun.
But that fun soon disturbed that idiot Frankie. He was being himself of course and was trying to get with every girl there, including Tara. But the girl wasn´t in the mood for his stupid games. At first, she ignored him but as soon as he was touchy and started grabbing her to go upstairs, she became furious.
She yelled at him so hard the boy even flinched, wasn´t expecting this behavior from a sweet girl like Tara. Yeah, like she was some easy prey. He then became angry and embarrassed but knowing a lot of people were around him he couldn´t do anything.
„He is a prick Tara forget about him.“ Mindy was standing beside her watching as her friend was getting more alcohol into her cup. Tara wasn´t really drunk, yet at least. And after this incident, she just wanted to get alcohol into her system to forget about his ugly ass face.
„Like...“ the short girl let out and furious sigh out of her lips. „he is such a fucking idiot I´m surprised no girl has punched him yet.“ Tara shook her head at the bitter taste as the alcohol touched her tongue. Maybe she will be first.
„Oh! And on top of that-“
„Tara.“ Mindy said from her side but she only continued, she didn´t even notice the hand of her on her right shoulder.
„-he even-„
„Tara.“ Mindy said a little louder through the loud music that was playing in the house.
„Fuck Mindy what!“ Tara looked at her friend, raising her voice a little. She wasn´t angry at her, of course not and Mindy also knew that, but Tara had a short temper.
„Apollo at 9 o´clock.“
Tara turned pale. Her eyes widen and her body becomes stiff. She felt like she had forgotten how to breathe. What did she say? No, that can´t be. The only person they were calling Apollo was...
„Tara fucking turn around.“ Mindy said between her clenched teeth as she kept looking at the way she told her to look at.
Tara took a big breath trying to calm her beating heart and shot her eyes to the left. There was a group of friends chatting and laughing, they had beers and cups in their hands as they were standing by the side of the room so as not to disturb anybody.
She scanned the group and suddenly saw the familiar figure she had been so desperate to find these past weeks. You were standing there in your civil clothes and cup in your hand. Your bright smile could be seen from every spot of the room, smiling at your friends as you were talking about something, sipping on your drink.
„Tell me I´m not crazy.“ Tara´s eyes kept looking at you as if she was afraid you would disappear again. Her chest kept rising and falling at a fast speed.
„No Tara, you´re definitely not.“ Mindy may only see you from a photo but this was definitely you. You looked far better in a person than in a photo, she must tell.
The young Carpenter turned to Mindy with wide eyes and eyebrows raised. „Oh my God! Oh my God! What do I do?!“ she quickly looked at her clothes if they looked fine. „Do I look good? I don´t have anything between my teeth?“ she smiled widely showing her teeth Mindy to check.
„Stop Tara! Calm down.“ Mindy took her shoulders to make her look at her. „Okay okay stop right now. No, you don´t have anything between your teeth. You´re fine.“
Deep and slow breaths were the next thing she needed to do or she would have another attack and that would be pretty embarrassing. It was just you. Yeah, just the cute doctor who took care of her at the hospital. Yes, only you, as if you were someone special-
Of course, you were special! To her! She wanted to impress you so badly. The girl was always thinking about the ways she would meet you again, what would she say to you, what would she be wearing, and how she would impress you... She looked like a garbage at the moment.
Today Tara didn´t give a fuck about what would her clothes be or how she would style her hair. She just wanted to have a little fun from studying and enjoy the night with her friends.
She looked at your way one more time and your eyes met. You squint your eyes at the girl as if you were trying to remember something. She quickly turned her head to Mindy, a scared look swimming in her eyes.
„Mindy. She saw me.“
„And now she´s making her way here.“
„No, that can´t be real.“
„Oh yes, it is.“
„No no no no.“ Tara shook her head to left and right trying to put herself together. She wasn´t ready to face you. This is not how she imagined your second meeting.
„Hi.“ Mindy looked at you and greeted you back. She took Tara again by her shoulders and turned her to you.
„Hi.“ The short girl said as she was now looking at your pretty eyes. You were smiling at her like you were the first time you saw each other.
„I´m sorry I didn´t wanna disturb but... I think I know you.“ You now lowered your eyebrows a bit and kept scanning Tara´s face.
What? Do you know her? Oh my God, you remember! The girl´s heart started beating in her chest as she now realized that. You wouldn´t remember if she didn´t catch your attention, right? Right?!
„Uhm... I-“
„Oh! I know! You were in a hospital! I knew you were familiar.“ You smiled widely at her, you looked happy that you could remember after all a lot of people came through your hands every day.
Tara breathed out as she looked down. „Yeah,“ she laughed „you got me.“
„Oh, you okay now? You had any complications after?“ You kept asking her as you scanned her face and body, not in a disgusting way. But let´s be honest, Tara wouldn´t mind that either.
The shorter girl smiled softly, playing with her hands as she was softly swaying her body to the sides like a small child. „No no, everything has been fine since then.“ She smiled shyly at you. „Thanks again.“. You just shook your head like she had nothing to thank for. You were just too sweet.
Mindy offered you and your group to be with them and after the introduction, some went to drink more in the kitchen or went to the dance floor. The three of you along with some of your friends were sitting on a couch in a living room with drinks in your hands, talking and laughing at others' dancing skills.
You were so friendly and your friends too, Tara was looking at you the whole time, listening carefully every time you started speaking so none of the words could slip her. The Carpenter didn´t even notice how much alcohol she drank, guess it was because of the stress from your presence but as soon as she stood up, she could feel everything.
Oh no. Her mind was now spinning, „I´m going to the toilet.“ Mindy offered to go with her as she saw her friend's face. She was drunk.
„Oh my God, Mindy.“ These were the first words that left her mouth as she saw herself in a mirror. Her eyes were down and her face was all sweaty from the hot room and alcohol. Tara touched her cheek at the state and turned around to her friend. „I can´t go back looking like this.“ Her mind was spinning and she barely could control her legs. „I´m so fucked up.“
Mindy was behind her smirking, leaning against the bathroom door, clearly dunk as well. „Tomorrow morning will be fun.“ She laughed to herself, eyes closed from the sharp light of the bathroom.
„Hey! Are you even listening to me?“ Tara went to her but stumbled a little. Mindy laughed at her clumsy friend. She wasn´t as drunk as Tara, she could still walk normally. The only thing she was more giggling than usual.
„Come on, it´s fine. Or do you wanna leave Y/N?“ Mindy asked Tara. „Did you forget about how you were these couple of weeks?“.
Right. She can´t do that. She needs to get your number, at least that. They went to the group again but with each step they took the alcohol in their system could be felt more and more. Tara was now so drunk that she laughed at everything she saw. The girl sat beside you again but this time a little more closer than she was before, you turned to her and smiled at her. She giggled at you as she tilted her head a little.
You could see her cheeks were red and her eyes had fallen a little. Every time she was speaking her voice was really loud and her hands were everywhere around the place, even almost smacked you but you were quick to dodge it. Yep, she was drunk.
Tara´s mobile kept vibrating a couple of times but she only ignored that. It was Sam, she was worried about her because they agreed that Tara would inform her every now and then that everything was fine. The first time you caught the notification you wanted to warn Tara about it but then you saw it.
On her wallpaper was your photo from the hospital, the one with all of your colleagues. The photo was zoomed on your smiling figure, it was so cute you wanted to laugh but you couldn´t. You didn´t want to embarrass her so you played like you didn´t see that.
„So...“ Tara hiccuped as she leaned her hand on the back of the couch behind your head. You raised your eyebrows at her as you were trying to hide the smile from how drunk and cute at the same time she was. „How old are you?“ she kept looking into your eyes as if she was trying to seduce you but was cut by a hiccup again.
Laughing at her now you answered her question. „How old do I look?“
„I don´t know, you look really young to be a doctor. You are a doctor? Or you are a student? How old are you?“ Tara squints her eyes at you. You let out a laugh as you threw your head back at her words, closing your eyes in the process.
Tara was drunk smiling at you, showing her dimples. She didn´t know why you were laughing but it was because of her so she didn´t mind. In her head it meant victory. You wiped your unexisting tears and shook your head. „You are so drunk.“
„No, I´m not! Look I can drink more!“ she went to grab a cup that was on the table in front of the couch but you were quick to take it from her hand.
„Absolutely not, you had too much already.“ Tara wanted to argue with you about it but her thoughts were cut by your touch.
„You have really pretty hands. They are much bigger than mine, look!“ she compared your hands and yes, hers were really small.
„And your fingers are so long... I wonder how it would feel inside of-“
Mindy covered her friend's mouth from beside her. She kept listening to your conversation the whole time, making sure Tara wouldn´t say or do something she would be embarrassed about the next day. Something like this.
„Okay, I think we should head home.“ Mindy wanted to pull Tara on her legs but she didn´t want to stand up and leave you. She kept pouting as she sat a little more closer to you almost sitting at your tights.
„Come on, I will go with you.“ You stood up and gently took her hands to help her on her legs. She smiled like a kid and immediately did what you wanted her to do.
You and Mindy were taking Tara to her home. Sam was now calling Mindy asking about her sister. She had the right to be mad, she let her go to a party under the condition of her texting her if she was alright.
As you were close to the apartment door Mindy left you two so you could be alone. Tara won´t remember it but Mindy for sure will and she will make sure her friend will pay back for this.
„We are already here.“ Tara whined and turned around to look at you as you now stood in front of her door. „I don´t wanna leave you, I wanna be with you.“ The girl hugged your neck as she put her head on your chest to stare into your eyes.
You laughed at her. „Don´t worry, I´m sure we will see each other again.“
„Do you wanna come inside?“ she smirked and dragged her finger around your shoulder, tilting her head to the side softly. The young Carpenter had clearly enough for today.
„You know I can´t Tara.“ You breathe out with a kind smile on your lips.
„I love it when you call my name, it sounds so different, and also your smile and your eyes and-“
The door from her home suddenly opened and there stood Sam. The three of you kept looking at each other shocked written on your faces, waiting till someone made the first move.
„Uhm... hey I´m Y/N, I don´t know if you remember me.“ You smiled kindly at Tara´s sister. She kept studying you a little, then it hit her. Yeah, you were the one from the hospital. You helped Tara and that was all she needed to know.
„Yeah, I remember.“ She then looked at her sister, slowly shaking her head. Tara´s arms were still around you, not caring that her sister could see everything. „Come on Tara.“
The short girl let out a whine not wanting to let you go. She tightened her grip on you and was now looking at you to save her from her angry sister. „You need to let go of me.“ Your voice was so soft, it was only convincing her to stay but your words said otherwise and she needed to listen to you.
Slowly pulling away from and with a point on her lips, eyes big as if you were saying that you will never see her again. You didn´t even leave and she missed you already. The girl just wanted to stay with you.
„Will I see you again?“ Tara asked as she was almost at her apartment looking for your answer. You nodded your head at her, shooting her one of your smiles with a wink.
„Okay... Goodnight.“ She said with a low voice, putting her head down and leaving you in a hallway. Sam turned to you and gave you a tight-lipped smile.
„Thanks for bringing her here.“
„It´s fine, she´s amazing.“ You looked from the way she disappeared to Sam. „I guess I will head home also. Goodnight.“ You waved at her and started to walk away.
The next morning couldn´t be worse. Tara woke up with a terrible headache and the urge to throw up, Sam was giving her silent treatment, Mindy kept teasing her about yesterday and she had no way of contacting you. Like she would do that, the girl was so embarrassed that she just wanted to bury herself deep into the ground.
Afternoon Mindy and Chad came, and they kept making fun of Tara and her flirting skills. Suddenly her phone rang signaling a new message.
Y/N:) :Heyy, hope you feel better
What? How did you get her number? It was really you?
„Mindy? How did you get Y/N´s contact into my phone?“ Her friend looked at her with a confused face. „Did you give her my number?“ Mindy shook her head, still looking muddled.
„Maybe she did it herself.“ She shrugged her shoulders. „At least you have her number finally!“
Yeah, at least something but when did you make it? Oh yeah, she probably left her phone on the couch when she went to the bathroom. But if you got your phone number into her phone that must mean...
„Oh God... please no.“ She put her head into her hands, covering her red face from embarrassment.
You saw that fucking wallpaper.

pairing: prof!sam carpenter x student!female reader
summary: sam does something thats certainly not allowed.
words: 2k
warnings: age gap, sexual content, language.
Tumblr media
Sam's love life was completely dull and uneventful, it was something she's very self aware of.
It was almost tragic how lonely she was.
Although she knew she should have had an active love life; being a professor brought opportunities for intellectual conversations, networking events, and collaborative projects, which should've brought at least some kind of connections to her.
But it didn't.
All of Sam's colleagues were polite and all, but they were all so much older than her, she couldn't find herself relating to relate to any of them.
And besides, dating wasn't her thing. Since the last time she had thought she found the right person, she almost ended up dead along with her sister.
Sam could never trust anyone enough to date them. All the blame for the lack of trust rested on her previous psycho ex.
Richie had left a scar on her body, and it wasn't in the form of a stab wound.
Despite the loneliness and the lack of company, Sam loved her job.
She loved the subject she was teaching, and her colleagues were actually pretty decent.
The biggest bonus was that she got a good paycheck. She didn't have to work two jobs that could barely pay the rent for her and Tara's apartment.
And to Sam's own surprise and satisfaction, the students didn't seem to whisper about her or spread the rumors that had been on the internet ever since the murders in Woodsboro.
Most of Sam's classes were filled with jocks, party-goers or just genuinely stupid people. After all, the school she taught at had a reputation for attracting a more socially-oriented crowd rather than focusing on academic excellence.
Sam wasn't really the kind of teacher that had a big connection with her classes, sure she would crack awkward jokes in class occasionally and greet them in the hall, but no more than that.
It never felt important to her, she was there to teach, to work and to get her salary.
But then there was you.
Sam never payed attention to the people that entered the classroom, or on what place they chose to sit in for the rest of the lesson. But with you, she did.
You had caught her attention the second her eyes got in contact with your figure. It had been when she was about to introduce herself in front of the class, her first day.
The way you had looked at her when she spoke didn't make you seem like the cocky or popular type, however the outfits you chose to wear to school told her otherwise.
Skirts that were either the size of a belt or skirts that would totally show your entire ass if you bent over the slightest. And if it wasn't minimal skirts it was low waisted jeans that showed the top of your underwear.
Tiny and tight crop tops that would show the exact outline and shape of your breasts.
Sam was shocked when she found out the college didn't have a dress code, since it allowed students like you to dress like models straight out from a 90s porno.
Based on the choice of clothing you thought was school appropriate, made Sam think that you were one of those popular mean girls that she used to absolute gush over in high school.
But you didn't seem to be like that. Sure, you were popular, but that was because of your prettiness, not because you were rude or that people were scared of you. Because in fact, nobody was scared of you.
You were loyal. You were friends with technically everyone, including the teachers.
From what Sam had seen in the halls and in the classroom, you always had a smile on your face, greeting everyone you saw with a wave and the smile that looked as if the person you were talking to had hung the stars.
Sam thought it was impressive how much beauty can do for a person. The way everybody loved you because you were pretty, everybody.
Although Sam didn't think much about your scandalous outfits or the way you admired Sam every time she made eye contact with you during briefings.
Not until you had began to walk towards her desk after class had been finished.
The way you would call her 'Mrs Carpenter'. Just like you should've, just like everyone else did, yet it sounded so different.
At first it had only been a simple question about an assignment, but then you started to stop by after every single lesson.
Sam tried to act like normal, responsible. But it was almost impossible when you would slightly lean forward, basically forcing Sam's gaze to your chest. Your hushed and low voice did it for her as well. You talked as if it was secret, as if nobody else was allowed to hear.
She was starting to think that it was all on purpose, that it was all because you wanted a better grade that you couldn't accomplish by yourself.
Sam knew for a certain that she wouldn't give in, she wouldn't give in because you tried to 'flirt' with her, it might've worked with your other professors but it definitely wouldn't work with her.
Sam was stubborn and incredibly obstinate, but she was also very insecure, alongside having no self respect. Most times when she would tell herself to avoid doing something, her lack of confidence would make her do it regardless.
Weeks passed and you didn't stop. You asked Sam for help after every single class.
You spoke to her in a flirty and hushed voice,  Sam had tried to talk back normally, but she would be lying if she couldn't hear her own voice sounding flirty as well.
Sam didn't know what she was doing, you were her student. But you made it so incredibly difficult for her to act like it.
You were gorgeous, model material. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was that you were aware of it, you knew how pretty you were, you knew exactly how to act around people to get your way.
She couldn't understand what was happening, but when you were with her, Sam felt this subtle flutter whenever you approached or just looked at her.
Sam had never felt that feeling before, not even when she was with Richie.
So instead of telling herself you did that with all your teachers, she began thinking that maybe, just maybe you did it because you actually liked her. Even though it wasn't allowed.
Sam was starved. Not from food starvation or hunger, but from love and touch. And she knew it was wrong to think that way when it was about you, it was so wrong.
But it was just thoughts right? Nobody could hear them.
That's what she had thought, but it was like you could read her mind.
Your attempts of trying to make Sam give in got more and more intense. You would touch her hands, standing close up to her and compliment her.
Eventually, Sam's mouth had moved faster than her mind could process. She had accepted your request for her to tutor you.
Sam knew that you didn't actually want tutoring, you were passing the subjects enough to graduate, unlike everybody else in your class. She knew that this was your attempt to flirt even more.
She knew she should've cancelled. The thought still haunted her, what would've happened if she did? Everything would've been so different.
However, Sam didn't cancel. And it turned out exactly like she thought it would.
You had insisted to sit beside her, and not in front of her. You would make sure your arms touched, that you spoke closely to her ear, you would bite your lips and toe flirt with her.
You were bold, so bold that it made you look hotter than Sam thought was possible.
Sam was desperate for something to change so she wouldn't feel the desire to be touched. Her body was craving a touch that wasn't from herself, not from anybody but you.
She felt disgusted by her own thoughts, every single thought her mind managed to convey was about you.
Next thing she knew, your lips had landed on hers. And Sam just couldn't pull away, her mind wasn't working properly. She had kissed you back.
But when her mind started to fall back in place, she pulled away, panic rushing through her as she had scanned the place, making sure nobody had seen it.
She had kissed her student, in a library. A public library.
Her mind had done this before. When she had been on top of Richie, knife going in and out of his chest, blood being the only thing that could be seen. It was like a blackout, Sam didn't know what she was doing, but at the same time, she knew exactly. But it had felt too good to stop. Just like it had been with you.
When you got the confirmation of Sam wanting the same thing, you had pulled her into the bathroom stall, where Sam couldn't help but kiss you just as hungrily as she had done in her disgusting thoughts.
Nothing mattered when your hands were roaming her body. The fact that you were her student and she was your teacher didn't seem to matter at all in that moment.
Sam couldn't understand what her mind was doing to her. This was like another one of those blackouts, where she couldn't think about the consequences of the things she was doing.
Like now, when she found herself in her own bed tangled up in the sheets, with you next to her.
Bare.
Her mind was all over the place. Thoughts racing through her mind like the traffic in New York, making her head feel like it was about to explode.
She couldn't show you the panic she was feeling about the whole situation. Because that would make you think she regretted it. And she didn't, god no she didn't.
You were so gentle yet bold at the same time. You made sure to ask for permission before doing everything, but you did everything so well.
Your touch was everything Sam's body had craved for months, it was nothing like she had done before. Your touch basically boiled on her skin.
You worshipped Sam in ways she didn't even know existed. The ways you touched her felt so good that she couldn't begin to understand what you were doing.
It had all felt so good that Sam could barely remember it. She remembered moaning, she remembered the satisfaction in it all; the warmth, the passion and the wetness.
Looking down at your figure laying against her, legs tangled up in each other, to see that your eyes were already on her. Your beautiful eyes filled with curiosity and admiration was inspecting her face, fingers smoothly running through her hair.
"What're you thinking about?" Your voice came out as a whisper, voice cracking from the lack of talking; words had not been the priority just minutes before.
When Sam made eye contact with you, all the worries faded away. She could be fired because of this, because of you, yet you were the person who could make the worries bluntly disappear.
Sam's lips curled into a gentle smile when she looked at you, bringing up her finger to subtly caress your cheek. "That this won't help you get a better grade.." She lied, a faint laugh escaping from her lips.
You smirked up at her before planting a kiss on her lips. "Please Mrs Carpenter. I promise I'll do better next time." Sarcasm laced your voice, and if Sam hadn't heard that, she would be panicking.
The fact that you had called her 'Mrs Carpenter' made her stomach twirl, sparkles flying around in it. Just like it had done when you moaned it a few minutes ago.
Although the twirls quickly turned into guilt. She shouldn't be doing this, she shouldn't be in bed with you, let alone be in her own apartment with you.
It truly didn't matter how many excuses she tried to make for herself, it wasn't right, and she should've been disgusted with herself.
She was a professor at a college who had fucked her student. And for obvious reasons, that just wasn't allowed.

⸻ morning daze
✦ tara carpenter x gn!reader
✦ summary. it's a school morning for you and tara. when you wake up next to her you find her hair a mess and her mood for the day is "i love you. fuck school."
✦ word count. 836
Tumblr media
Tara was notorious for having bedhead in the morning. This was obvious though due to her hair always getting messed up even when awake; whether it be running from Ghostface, changing clothes, or simply going downstairs to get the mail, she always found a way to ruffle her hair despite not even touching it. It was one of your favorite things about her.
But the mornings when she had been sleeping hard were your favorite times.
The soft skin of her face possessed the indentations of her pillow, while her cheeks held a glowing rouge that expressed the warmth shared between the two of you during the hours of darkness. Her small body was curled up in the blankets as she remained close to you, but she could never fool you with her serenity. She moved in her sleep, and she moved a lot; blame it on her dreams or her body’s comfortability level, she was always stirring. She talked in her sleep too, murmuring through sleepy moans and calling out objections, pleasured expressions, or your name. No matter what it was, you would move towards her, pull the covers up, and nestle yourself into her; shushing her whimpers, pressing kisses to her head, and making sure she could feel your presence. And most of the time, it worked.
But this morning, she was peaceful and weighed down by sleep, which brought out her dependent nature to compliment.
“Good morning, my love,” you whispered, brushing Tara’s disheveled bangs from her face.
She smiled back, her eyelids heavy and her breathing soft aside from the drowsy sigh she gave to sink further into her pillow.
You giggled and kissed her now bare forehead before letting go of her locks, which allowed her messy hair to fall back into place. “Did you sleep well?”
“Mm-hm…” Tara shuffled closer to you and nuzzled her face into the crook of your neck.
“I can tell.” You traced the red marks that were revealed when the blankets slipped off Tara’s shoulders, “And your dreams?”
Tara hummed, drifting in and out of consciousness as she embraced the love embedded in your contact. She could hardly muster enough strength to reply, but she forced herself into one as she pressed her lips into your neck. “Dreamed of you…”
You smiled as you breathed in her scent, “All good I hope?”
She nodded, wrapping her arm around you to settle into another slumber. She forgot it was a school morning.
You both had class, and by your grace, you had given her an extra thirty to forty-five minutes of sleep, while you simply spent that time taking in your girlfriend, your sleeping beauty, your Tara Carpenter. “We have to get up, Tara… We have class, remember?”
Tara just whined and held onto you tighter, pressing her body into yours and flinging her top leg over yours to lock you in. “I don’t wanna go…”
Her voice was muffled, having you chuckle, “Huh?”
“I wanna stay in bed with you…,” she kept her position but lifted her head slightly, “Fuck school…”
You laughed and propped yourself up on your forearm, forcing Tara to come up with you. “Look at me.”
She obeyed; her sleepy eyes longing for you as her lower lip puckered out in hopes you would succumb and stay in bed with her. But as much as you wanted to, you knew how strict your professor was on absences, so you had to reluctantly push your desires aside and suffice the both of you with an apologetic but loving kiss on the lips.
Tara took you eagerly, keeping you a few more moments than you intended, but of course, you didn’t mind. It was the most you could do for her right now after all.
“You know I have to go…”
“I know,” Tara mumbled, leaning into you for a proper morning hug with her arms secured around your waist.
You gave her a few playful nuzzles to make her giggle before sitting back and running your fingers through her tangled hair. “Now, come on. You’re not going to class with your hair like this.”
“Why not?” Tara complained in a small tantrum, watching you slip off the bed and round the corner to pick her up, which she happily accepted despite the pout still present on her face. “You said you liked it…”
“I do!” You brought her to the bathroom where you sat her on the commode to fetch a comb and gently brush through her locks before whispering, “But I like it more when we can stay in bed all morning.”
Tara gave a huff of disappointment before turning back to gaze at you with puppy-dog eyes. “I need another kiss then. You know, to make up for that.”
And with a scoff of amusement, you kissed her.
“We’re staying in bed tomorrow, Y/n.” She smirked when she pulled away to let you resume your grooming. “I’m serious.”
And in turn, you laughed. “We’ll do whatever you want, my love.”

Tara Carpenter x Fem!Reader
Warnings: None??
Summary: You come late to a class one day, and an unexpected friendship, (and maybe more) blossoms.
Word Count: 1.5k
A/N: Woo! This was a long one to write, and i'm not sure if i added enough fluff in there, but if you guys want a part two, i'm happy to write more :)
Tumblr media
You had been pining over this girl for six months. At first it was all fun and games, just some motivation to get up and into class each morning. But soon with every nice gesture and soft smile she sent your way, it turned into something more.
Tara Carpenter.
She was the prettiest girl you've ever laid your eyes on, with wide doe eyes and freckles littered everywhere across her face. You'd noticed her one particular day when you had realized you overslept, rushed into class, in nothing but your jamies and an oversize hoodie.
When you opened the doors, a little loud, okay maybe a lot loud, everyone's heads snapped to you. You stilled, acutely aware of everyone’s eyes on you.
A small giggle sounded through the room, and you locked eyes with a short-looking brunette.
Feeling embarrassed enough to last a lifetime, you quickly hurried over and sat next to the girl, a blush rising up your neck at everyone still staring.
"As I was saying..." The professor began, to which most people took their eyes off you and focused back on the lesson. You breathed out a sigh.
"That was quite an entrance, if I do say so myself." A voice sounded beside you.
When you turned your head to look at her, the comeback you had so cleverly thought up died in your throat.
"I- um, hi! Yeah, it was a crazy day, see- I just went to a party last night and I might've gotten crazy drunk and then forgot to set my alarm and woke up and realized we had a test today, so I really wasn't thinking about my outfit, but-" You stopped when you realized you'd been rambling, the blush rising to the tip of your ears now, though for a totally different reason.
The girl cocked an eyebrow up and gave a tiny smirk.
"Sorry, my name's YN. I'm not usually this stupid." You offered her a handshake, head turned down in embarrassment.
"A handshake?" She asked a little teasingly, but took your hand nevertheless.
Deciding you'd already embarrassed yourself enough for one day, you turned back to the teacher, determined not to act stupid in front of this pretty girl.
"Tara." She mumbled after a while, but loud enough for you to hear.
"I'm sorry?"
She turned to you and tilted her head a bit, like staring hard enough would allow her to read your mind.
"My name's Tara." She said, giving you another soft smile.
You felt your lips start to tug upwards at the ends, and a giddy feeling, like butterflies entered your stomach.
"Pleased to meet you, Tara."
_
The both of you never talked about the routine you got into, but ever since that first day, when you walked into class and scanned the room, you would always look for Tara first.
She would always leave a seat beside her for you, death glaring anyone that tried to sit in it.
It was a comfortable situation, and you were content in being in her company, even though it was only for a few hours.
You’d bring her and yourself some coffee, quickly remembering what her go-to order was.
Sometimes you guys would study together in the library, throwing flirty comments and looking at each other longer than friends should.
You couldn’t help but get distracted sometimes in class, what with such a gorgeous girl next to you, how could you not?
Unbeknownst to you, Tara would also sneak some peeks in, but she was a lot more discreet about it. You never caught her staring once.
-
But on one random Tuesday morning, she wasn't there. It was weird of Tara to not be there before you, since you were always late, but you shrugged it off and figured she might've gotten lost on the way to class. She would never miss a class in her life. You brushed the nagging feeling in your chest away.
Halfway through the lesson, the nagging feeling turned into outright worry. Tara would never miss a class without an important reason, and if she did, she would have at least texted you about it. The two of you had grown pretty close in the last semester.
y/n: Hey, are you okay?
She never answered.
As soon as the class ended, you sprinted outside and started running.
Finding the way to Tara's apartment was a bit challenging, seeing as though you'd never been there before. But Tara had given the address to you once, during a frat party you attended together.
You swayed on the heels of your feet anxiously, hoping Tara was home and not out somewhere dangerous. You had heard news of a new killer around, though you didn't pay it much attention. You certainly didn't want Tara to be one of his victims though.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
A girl you'd never seen before opens the door, expression clearly annoyed. She looked a bit like Tara, but her demeanor was all dark and gloomy, completely unlike Tara.
"Um...is Tara home?" You mumbled, starting to feel small under her intense gaze.
"And who the hell are you? " She asked, eyebrows furrowed, arms crossed in front of her chest.
"YN?" Came a voice from inside, and you immediately recognized it as Tara's.
The girl at the door was pushed aside gently, and you looked down to see Tara, a curious expression painting her face.
"Ohmygod i'm so glad your okay. I was so worried I thought that psycho killer might've gotten you." You mumbled as you pulled her in for a tight embrace, her face nuzzling in the side of your neck. A small giggle erupted from the girl, and she held you a little tighter.
You stayed like that for a while, until someone loudly cleared their throat beside you.
You pulled away quickly, forgetting that there were other people present, and straightened up, raising your hand to the girl who greeted you at the door.
“Sam? Is everything okay?” Came a male voice from inside the apartment.
“Yeah, we’re good Chad!” She shouted back, still eyeing you like you were scum on earth.
You took a breath and stepped forward, raising your hand and meeting her eye.
"Hi. I'm YN." She eyed your hand, arms still crossed and very much still looking furious.
"A handshake?" She shot Tara a look, expressing something like a "really? this is the one you pick?"
"Yeah i'm sorry if i'm intruding, I just wanted to make sure Tara was okay since she didn't come to class today." You explained.
The older girl was fast to snap back, "You are, and you've seen her, so you should leave now."
"Sam!" Tara exclaimed, taking a hold of your wrist to prevent you from leaving.
"It's okay Tara, I don't mind. As long as I know you’re okay, then I’m good." You whispered, making sure she looked you in the eye to express how serious you were.
Her eyes softened a little, before turning to Sam and speaking slowly.
"He must've saw her come up. We can't let her go. She might get attacked."
You furrowed your eyebrows, starting to get confused about what they were talking about.
Sam must've saw the look in Tara's eyes, because she rebuffed her immediately, glaring at you as she said, "Absolutely not. I know nothing about her, you know nothing about her. For all we know, she's the killer!"
At that you step in.
"Woah, woah woah. I just gotta defend myself here and say I don't know what you're talking about right now, but I am most definitely not a killer." You winked at the older girl, trying to keep the mood light.
Oh shit. That sounds exactly like something a killer would say.
"I mean-! I'm just Tara's friend, I wanted to make sure she was okay. She never misses class so I came to check on her." You hurried out, seeing the look of suspicion growing on Sam's face.
"Please, Sam. How many innocent people are you gonna let die? And if she is the killer, then we'll have her right here with us! We'll keep an eye on her." Tara pleaded, though her tone was more pressed than anything.
Sam let out a scoff, and walked away, further into their apartment.
You’re left standing in the hallway corridor, not really sure what just happened.
"I guess that's a yes." Tara sing-songed and smiled at you, pulling you in and closing the door and giving you a peck on the cheek.
Your eyes widened and you tried your best not to gulp, but by the way Tara's smile turned even bigger, you know you failed.
"Come on, let's go meet the others." She tugged on your wrist, which she was still keeping a death grip on. Effectively dragging you forward to the living room.
You snap out of your daze and start to follow her, but not before asking a question you should’ve asked about five minutes before.
"What's this about me being a killer again?"

This isn't Your Fault (First Date)
Pairing: Tara Carpenter x Reader

Tara was tapping her pen on her notebook as she waited for class to start. They were a few weeks into the semester and had been in the city for about a month. Tara was studying film like Mindy; they were taking all the same classes but oddly they only shared Video Editing 1. Tara liked to pretend that was her favorite class, it was Mindy’s favorite class. It would usually be her favorite because they were actually editing videos, cutting together clips and creating trailers, interviews, and Mindy was there.
That wasn’t her favorite though. Her favorite class was this one, Film History. Sure, it was one of her only classes where she actually needed to take notes and write papers for but for over an hour twice a week she got to sit in class and just talk about movies. She got to sit there and hear about the history of some of the best and most influential films, the movies that paved the way and inspired everything they get now. They also got to watch some movies. She had this class twice a week, the first day was a lecture, learning about the history of movies and the influence some have had on the entire industry. The second class though, that was the one where they just got to watch a movie. They were going through the history of movies, so they started with the very beginning, silent films. All of that was great but the real reason, not that she’d every admit it, the real reason this was her favorite class was because of you.
And as if she summoned you, you walked through the doors. Tara paused her tapping of the pen, her breath catching as she watched you make your way to your seat. You sat in the row in front of her, a couple chairs down. It gave Tara the perfect vantage to stare at you, in a non-creepy way. It was always the same, you came into class, headphones on and sat in the same spot. She didn’t know what you were listening to, but she admired you, seeing how whatever it was let you escape and ignore everything around you. You kept the headphones on right up until the very last second, as soon as the professor came in though, you slipped them off, keeping them rested around your neck.
Tara noticed you the very first day of class. That was also the first day she ever talked to you. The professor made them do those stupid ice breakers all teachers insist on for some reason. The professor gave them fifteen minutes to walk around and get to know each other, saying to introduce themselves and tell each other their major, and their favorite movie. To prove everyone was participating the professor would go through and ask each of them to share the other person’s favorite movie. Tara dreaded ice breakers, even before Ghostface, when everyone separated, she saw you slumped in your seat, seeming to hate ice breakers just as much. Despite her reservations Tara decided to make the first move, she would force herself to talk to the cute girl, the two of you clearly hated ice breakers, mutually shared hatred of something made for great bonding.
“Hey,” Tara said shyly, glancing around the room seeing everyone else effortlessly make conversation with each other. “I’m Tara.”
“Hi,” you said quietly, shyly glancing at Tara. “I’m Y/N,” you reached across, offering your left hand.
Tara clenched her hands, staring down at yours hanging in the air for what felt like an eternity. She knew it was only mere seconds considering you weren’t looking at her like she was crazy. Tara hesitantly lifted her hand to grip yours. Your eyes flicked down, lingering on the scar on the back of her hand. Tara almost pulled her hand away, this was a bad idea, you were going to ask her about it, or you already knew about Woodsboro, and you were going to connect who exactly Tara was, this was a bad idea, and she never should have come up to talk to you. You didn’t do anything though, you reached out the rest of the way, meeting her hand and giving it a soft shake.
“Nice to meet you,” you said, smiling as you pulled your hand away. “I’m an audio major.”
“Now the headphones make sense,” Tara mumbled. You instantly blushed reaching up to toy with the headphones still resting around your neck. Tara internally slapped herself for revealing she’d been watching you. “I’m a film major.”
“So, we’re opposites.”
Tara giggled, she felt her face get hot, it had been a long time since someone made her truly giggle. “Looks that way. What’s your favorite movie?”
“Jurassic Park.”
“Really?” Tara didn’t usually question people when they told her their favorite movie, well she didn’t usually do it to their face but now knowing you were an audio major she couldn’t help show her surprise, she was imaging something more music related.
“It’s a classic,” you laughed. “Plus, the theme is incredible.” You closed your eyes, letting out a small sigh as you clearly thought about the main theme of Jurassic Park. “I mean when they’re driving up to those gates, that theme makes you feel it all, the excitement, the wonder, the magic.” You chuckled. “Sorry, what’s your favorite?”
Tara shook her head; she was too busy smiling as she listened to you talk about the theme of Jurassic Park. “The Babadook.”
“That’s a horror movie, right?”
Tara’s eyes widened. “You’ve never seen it?”
You shook your head and had your mouth open about to say something but then the professor clapped their hands, ushering everyone back to their seats. Tara plopped back down in her chair with a pout, she had just gotten to talk to a cute girl and was about to be given the chance to ramble about her favorite movie. Her only conclusion for the first day of class, professors were evil.
Tara made small conversation with you here and there after that day. She wanted to get to know you more but after everything that happened, she couldn’t trust anyone. You were nice, you were so nice, always offered Tara a shy smile or a small wave. Amber was also nice, then she stabbed Tara and attempted to kill her, her sister, and all their friends. Nice didn’t mean anything. No one could be trusted. Luckily for Tara that, as nice as you were, you were also shy, so you never went out of the way to talk to Tara unless you specifically had to, like that first day of class.
Just listening to you in class when the professor called on you or talking to you while working on a paper together, Tara learned so much. She learned that you loved movies as much as her. Where Tara liked the story and the deeper meaning behind movies, specifically horror movies, you loved the music. Despite being shy, the most you talked was when the musical score of a movie was brought up. Tara never thought much about how significant music was to movies, but she soon came to realize you were right. Music was that part of the move that most people didn’t notice because even if it was there throughout the whole movie, it was just so easy to ignore, it was always just there but if you removed the music from a move, the movie just wasn’t the same. The music, the sound, all of it created the movie. Most movies were nowhere close to amazing when the music was removed.
Tara was sitting on her phone, scrolling through Instagram. She had found yours and it was private but Tara, feeling bold, requested to follow. It was only an hour later when you accepted, requesting to follow her in return. Tara allowed it, it wasn’t like she posted much anyway. Ever since you accepted her request though she’d been scrolling through your posts. You also didn’t seem to post a lot, everything you did post though was related to music, movies, or videogames. Tara went through to see who you were following, and it was pretty much the same thing, actors, movies, and videogames.
“I can’t believe you did that!” Mindy shouted, snapping Tara out of her mindless scrolling of your profile. She looked up to see Mindy storming in behind Anika who was in the middle of rolling her eyes. Chad was behind them, quietly closing the door, clearly trying to stay out of whatever was going on.
“It’s not a big deal!” Anika sighed, plopping down on a chair.
“Not a big deal! Do you hear this?” Mindy looked at Tara who just raised an eyebrow which Mindy ignored. “Can you believe this?” Mindy looked up. Tara followed her gaze to see Sam standing in the doorway between the living room and kitchen, she too had a confused expression.
“We’re doing a project together,” Anika raised her hands in defense.
“A project? A project? A project?”
“Yes!”
“On what, how to commit murder?”
“What is happening?” Sam asked.
“Did she ask about me or any of us?” Mindy asked, narrowing her eyes at her girlfriend, and ignoring Sam’s question.
“No! She’s never once asked about you.”
Mindy crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. “Oh, really? Oh, really? Then why did she have that scared look when I came in? Why did she leave so abruptly? Seems suspicious.”
“You were glaring at her!” Anika shot to her feet. “You stormed into the library and instantly started glaring at her.”
“How do you know she can be trusted? How well do you even know her? You said you haven’t been friends long.”
“We met at the beginning of the semester. We share a class. I met her before any of you,” Anika spun around looking at everyone.
“Who is this about?” Sam interjected again.
“Y/N Y/L/N,” Mindy said, narrowing her eyes even more at Anika.
Tara perked up at hearing your name. She slowly sat down her phone and focused more on whatever was going on. It seemed that Anika knew you and now Mindy was arguing with her about you for some reason.
“She shares a class with Anika,” Mindy continued. “She’s also in one of mine.” She looked at Sam as if that provided all the answers in the world. Sam just stood there with wide eyes, even more confused than before. “Don’t you find that suspicious?” Mindy raised her hands, letting out a frustrated sigh. “We aren’t in the same major,” Mindy gestured between herself and Anika.
“So?” Anika snapped. “A lot of majors overlap. We’re all in very similar majors. I have a few classes with you and Tara, you, and Tara share only one class despite having the exact same major. There’s a guy in my theater class who’s an engineer major because he just loves performing!”
“She’s right,” Chad said, coming up from behind Sam, snacking on a bag of chips. “I’m taking Art History, and it has absolutely nothing to do with my major or football.”
Mindy glared at her brother but didn’t say anything, she kept her arms crossed and jaw clenched but relaxed her shoulders slightly. “Babe,” Anika said, stepping forward to uncross Mindy’s arms. “She’s really nice, she’s the only reason I’m passing, she’s also my best friend. There is no ulterior motive. She isn’t some weirdo trying to get close to me to get close to you so she can murder you all.”
“But how do you-” Mindy started to ask.
“Because we met the first day and have talked ever since,” Anika cut her off. “Also, I’m pretty sure after today she’s never going to want to be around you again.”
Tara tuned out the rest of the conversation after that. You were friends with Anika. You were best friends with Anika. Mindy had met Anika early in the semester at a frat party and had been together ever since. Sam had been suspicious of Anika at first, but everyone quickly learned Anika was really sweet and just the nicest person in the world. Anika was the first person everyone unanimously approved of, and that Sam allowed up to the apartment, even when she wasn’t home. If Anika vouched for you then Tara didn’t see the harm in going after what she wanted.
Everyday Tara’s crush for you grew more and more. You were nice, you were pretty, you liked movies, and you treated Tara like a normal person. Most of the time school wasn’t to bad but Tara would walk to class or be sitting there waiting for class to start and catch whispers of Ghostface or Woodsboro. Even if no one talked to her directly, they all knew exactly who she was, and it was always a topic of discussion. Not with you though, you never asked about her past. You saw her scar that first day and you still never asked about it. Tara assumed you knew but it was hard to tell, you never looked at her differently, you never asked about her sister or friends. If a topic was going to lead to what happened last year you changed the subject so easily Tara never realized what you had done until after she had already forgotten she was getting anxious.
That night Tara decided she would ask you. The next day after class she would just walk up to you and ask you out. If you said no, then Tara would just go back to the normal and never speak to you again. She didn’t think you’d say no. She hoped you wouldn’t say no.
The next day rolled around; Tara got there extra early due to her nerves even if she didn’t plan on doing anything until after class. Like clockwork you walked into the room, Tara offered you a small smile which you shyly returned and then you went to your seat, headphones on until the professor came in. The class was normal, they were discussing the film they had watched the previous week before getting into this week’s topic. Tara was being a good student, diligently taking notes when class ended. She was scribbling the last remainder of her notes, when she looked up and saw you were already gone.
The rest of the day and the day after Tara spent pouting. No one noticed Tara’s sour mood though. She should have probably been concerned with whether they were completely missing the fact that Tara was in a bad mood or were so used to Tara being unhappy that they just ignored it now. Tara could only focus on you though. Instead of working on any of her schoolwork or studying for any of her other classes, she decided to formulate a plan on how she’d corner you after class, she went over exactly what she would say to you, and she attempted to prepare a response for any possible reaction from you.
Finally, the second day of class came. Tara sat through the entire class, her eyes darting from the movie playing in front of her to you. You were sitting there completely engulfed by the movie. Tara tried to pay attention, she knew it was directed by Stephen Spielberg and she thought the name of it was Duel or something like that. She didn’t really care, there was a dude driving in a car and there was a truck. Tara lost interest instantly, instead spending all her time thinking about you and asking you out finally.
Before she knew it class came to an end and Tara shot up from her desk and ran out the door. She leaned against the wall next to the door so she could get you as soon as you stepped foot out of the room. Which is exactly what she did. You stepped out of the room, headphones already back on your head and Tara stepped directly into your path. You almost turned right into her but as soon as your eyes registered someone was in front of you, you jumped.
“Sorry,” Tara said quickly, taking a step back. In all her planning Tara never considered ambushing you after class might scare you and come across as creepy.
“It’s okay,” you said, giving her a small smile as you slipped your headphones back around your neck. “How’d you like the movie?”
Tara’s eyes widened, she also forgot that ambushing you after the second class of the week meant that you might ask her about the movie you both just watched, damn it, she really should have paid attention. “It-it-it was good,” Tara nodded trying to sound more convincing.
You tilted your head slightly, Tara found it adorable. “Yeah? What was your favorite part?”
Tara laughed awkwardly. “Oh, you know, the part… with the… truck.” Tara closed her eyes and suppressed a groan, all her planning thrown out the window, she was blowing it right now.
“Right, that part was good.” When Tara opened her eyes again you were giving her a slight smirk.
You tilted your head again, eyebrows raised as you looked at Tara. “Oh! Right!” Tara shouted a little louder than she meant to, making a few students passing them look at her weird. “I wanted to ask you something.”
“Okay.” Tara stood there, staring at you. You continued to stare at her until you started to furrow your brow. “You, okay?”
Tara wanted to smack herself. She finally got what she’d been wanting all week, she had you right here just like she had wanted and now she was blowing it. “I was wondering if you wanted to go out?” Tara said quickly. “With me.”
Your eyes instantly lit up. “Like, like a,” you bit your lip.
“Like a date.”
You quickly looked away, smiling as your face suddenly turned red. “Yeah, yeah, I’d really like that.”
“Great! Friday night? There’s a new horror movie coming out.”
There was a slight twitch of your mouth, but you never lost your smile. “Yeah, sounds great.”
“Great!”
Tara walked to her next class smiling. Even though she had failed in her execution for asking you out she had succeeded, you had said yes. You even agreed to Tara’s suggestion day and date, everything was working perfectly. It was going to be a Friday night; she knew Quinn would be out of the apartment with one of her gentlemen callers and that Sam would be working late. Tara would be able to have her first date with you, see a horror movie she’d been dying to see, and maybe if all went to plan, she’d even get to kiss you goodnight, and still make it back home before Sam was none the wiser.
The rest of the week had gone by quickly. Tara was bouncing with excitement the closer she got to Friday. When Friday finally came around, she rushed home, making sure to say hi to Sam before she left for work and setting up as if she was going to have a normal night in. As soon as Sam left Tara ran to her room and started destroying her closet looking for the perfect outfit. She wasn’t sure why she was trying so hard or what she was looking for, it was just a date to the movies, but it was a date with you.
Tara glanced at her phone, seeing she needed to be at the movies to meet you in half an hour she quickly threw on a cute shirt and some jeans before rushing out the door. As much as she wanted to pick you up, she didn’t have a car and you lived on the opposite side of the city, so it was more convenient for the two of you to just meet up at the movie theater.
Tara arrived at the theater a whole ten minutes early. She paced back and forth outside the front doors. She had her phone out, trying to be casual but she couldn’t take her eyes off the time. As the seconds ticked by Tara started to wonder if you’d be late or if you would even show up at all, maybe you were going to stand her up.
“Hey!” came your voice, greeting Tara as you walked down the sidewalk.
Tara glanced at her phone one last time before putting it away. A whole two minutes had passed since she arrived, meaning you also arrived early for your date with her. “Hey!” Tara greeted.
“You ready?”
Tara nodded. She wanted to hold your hand as you walked in the theater. Her fingers nervously tapped her leg as the two of you made your way to the snack stand. You both got Icee’s and a medium popcorn. Before she knew it Tara saw you handing your card over to the cashier.
“Hey,” she shouted. She asked you out, she intended to pay for everything.
“You bought the tickets,” you said. “Which are already an insane price, at least let me pay for the overpriced snacks.”
“Fine,” she mumbled, crossing her arms with a pout.
You handed Tara her Icee, holding the popcorn as you took a sip of your own Icee. When you turned around you almost spit out your Icee and started choking. Tara glared at you; how dare you laugh at her pout. Tara’s glare only seemed to make you laugh more. Once you stopped choking you had an adorable smirk on your face that Tara was hating because it made her want to smile.
“Shall we?” you asked, somehow managing to hold your drink and the popcorn in one hand while you held at your other towards Tara.
Tara stared down at your hand, flicking her eyes to your face before going back down to your hand. Tara quickly grabbed onto your hand, taking a sip of her own Icee to cover up the smile and reddening of her cheeks she was sure was happening. Tara dragged you to the kiosk where the usher was scanning tickets. She held out her phone and the guy pointed down the right hallway telling them which theater to head to.
You and Tara took your seats. Tara had picked the perfect seats, it was still a new movie, and it was rather popular, but she managed to get the best seats, a couple rows back and right smack in the middle. Tara sipped her drink, trying not to focus on how you hadn’t let go of her hand, continuing to hold it as the lights dimmed and the trailers before the movie began to play.
Tara stared up at the large screen, watching as screams filled the theater. Tara had begun chewing on her straw, she wasn’t sure when she had finished her drink. Tara jumped, smiling at the scare that just happened.
“I’ll be back,” you whispered into her ear. Tara nodded but didn’t look your way, she felt your hand finally release hers.
Tara was engulfed in the movie, watching the scenes flash before her. She reached for some popcorn when she realized her hand was cold. Tara furrowed her brow, remembering you had let go of her hand when you got up. Tara turned to see your seat empty, your Icee still in the cupholder, now completely melted. Tara frowned, you had left a little while ago, you left about thirty minutes in and now the movie was almost half over.
Tara got up from her seat and moved through the dark theater, slipping out as quietly as possible so as not to disturb the other people. When Tara pushed open the doors entering the hallways again, she looked up and down until her eyes finally landed on you. You were seated on the floor, back pressed up against the wall and head buried in your hands. Tara slowly approached, not wanting to startle you. She eased herself down until she was right next to you but making sure she wasn’t close enough to accidentally touch you.
“Hey,” Tara said softly. Despite trying her hardest not to startle you, she saw your body shudder. “Are you okay?”
You nodded, not lifting your head from your hands. “Yeah,” you said quietly as you slowly lifted your head. You refused to look at Tara, keeping your eyes glued to the carpet.
“What’s wrong?”
You shook your head. Tara saw your cheeks darken slightly as you inched your feet closer to your body, closing in on yourself even more. “Nothing, sorry for disturbing the movie for you.”
“I don’t care about that,” Tara said quickly, shaking her head. “Please, tell me what’s wrong, please?”
You finally looked Tara in the eye but quickly dropped your gaze again. You ran your hands down your face as you let out a nervous chuckle, your face becoming redder as you prepared yourself for whatever you were about to say. “I hate horror movies.”
Tara blinked a few times. Out of all the things she expected to hear you say, that was not one of them. “What?” Tara asked dumbly.
You let out another nervous chuckle. “I hate horror movies,” you said again. “I’m sorry,” you looked Tara in the eyes again, looking so sad and disappointed in yourself, as if you expected her to suddenly dislike you because you didn’t like horror movies.
“Why’d you agree to see this with me then?” Tara asked softly, with a small smile, trying to offer you any sort of comfort.
You shrugged. “Horror movies are your thing. You love them.” You started picking at the carpet. “I even tried watching The Babadook because I knew it was your favorite. Your favorite movie is a horror movie!” You let out a long sigh, crossing your arms over your knees and resting your head on them. “You finally asked me out, I didn’t want to turn down your date suggestion.”
Tara’s heart broke, she hated how oblivious she had been. You sat through thirty minutes of a movie for her even though it made you miserable. Tara had been so focused on the movie she never noticed your discomfort. When she thought back to all her interactions with you, she suddenly realized how you never talked about horror movies. Tara would go on and on about them and you just kind of nodded along.
“Hey,” Tara said softly, gently bumping your shoulder with hers. “Why don’t we get out of here?”
“What about the movie?” you asked, looking at her with sad puppy dog eyes.
“Forget the movie.”
“But you were enjoying it.”
“So, what? I’ll wait till it comes to streaming or convince Mindy to see it with me later.” Tara reached out, grabbing one of your hands and bringing it over to her lap, drawing circles on the back of your hand with her thumb for comfort. “I asked you out because I wanted to get to know you better. Let’s go get something to eat and just talk.”
Tara held your gaze, giving you a soft smile until you nodded, returning her smile as well. “Okay. I know a pretty good pizza place not too far.”
“Sounds great.” Tara stood up, holding out her hand, when you gratefully accepted, she helped you to your feet. “I get to pay though,” she gave you a pointed look.
You chuckled, finally relaxing again. “Okay deal.”
Tara walked out of the theater hand in hand with you. You led her a couple blocks down to a little pizza shop. The two of you walked up to the register, opting to order two slices each. Once the two of you order Tara pushed herself in front of you practically throwing her card at the cashier before you could weasel your way into paying. She heard you silently chuckle as you stepped out of her way.
You grabbed your slices and hers, ready to sit down as soon as she got her card back. Tara grabbed a drink for each of you then followed you back outside to the bar seating that overlooked the street. The two of you sat in silence as you ate your pizza, just watching the people and cars pass by.
“So,” Tara said, tossing her napkin onto the empty plate. “If horror movies aren’t your thing, what is?”
You played with the remaining crust of your pizza, quietly smiling to yourself. “Videogames.”
“Really?” she couldn’t hide her surprise.
“Yeah, the sound design, the music, it all elevates a game, it helps fully immerse you in that world.”
“Okay, what kind of games do you play?”
“You’re going to laugh.” Tara smiled, tilting her head in question. “Post-apocalyptic, horror, really anything.”
“Are you kidding me!”
“It’s not as scary when I’m playing myself,” you defended.
“Wouldn’t that make it more scary?” you just shrugged. “Okay, whatever, how about you make me a deal?” you raised an eyebrow. “You can show me some videogames if I can show you some horror movies.” You tilted your head, seeming reluctant. “Come on! I’ll start you off with some easy stuff, not super scary. Our next date you can teach me how to play your favorite game or whatever you want.”
“Who says you get a next date?”
Tara’s face went white, her mouth hung open as she stared at you with wide eyes. She was having so much fun, she assumed you were as well. The two of you were technically still on your first date and she was already talking about a second date. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to assume, I’m sorry, I-”
“It’s okay,” you giggled. “I can’t wait for our second date either.”
Tara took a piece of crust from her plate and threw it at you. “Jerk.” The two of you broke out into a fit of laughter.
The two of you sat and talked for a bit longer before Tara looked at the time and realized Sam would be getting home soon. Despite assuring you she’d be fine you insisted on walking Tara home. Your argument was that you guys walked to the pizza place, which was slightly closer to Tara’s apartment, therefore you got to walk her home. Tara tried to argue but she didn’t put up much of a fight, wanting to spend more time talking with you. Which is exactly what she did, she talked with you the entire walk to her apartment, talking about classes and what each of you wanted to do after college.
“This is me,” Tara sighed, looking up at her building. Tara bounced on her feet, wanting to invite you up and continue your conversation but she knew if Sam came home, and you were there someone would surely be murdered.
“Don’t worry,” you said, smiling softly at Tara. “I just wanted to make sure you got to the front door okay.”
“Thank you.” Tara bit her lip looking into your eyes, she saw you blush, looking from her eyes to her lips, she was waiting to see if you’d make the first move or if she’d have to.
“Can I-would you mind-Can I-Would you-I-” Tara cut you off with a quick kiss. She felt you suck in a breath but quickly melt into the kiss, instantly returning it.
Tara pulled away, stepping back to see a goofy smile on your face. “Sorry, I hope that’s what you were trying to ask.” You opened and closed your mouth a few times but ended up just nodding. Tara giggled at rendering you speechless. “Night,” she whispered, leaning up to place a quick kiss on your lips again before running up the steps to the front door.
“Night,” she heard you whisper.
She turned around giving you a wave goodbye, which you happily returned. Once the front door closed behind her she saw you start to walk off back down the street. Tara smiled as she quickly ran up all the flights of stairs to her apartment. She unlocked the door, slumping back against it with the biggest smile she had had in a long time.

“What exactly are we doing here?” You asked Tara as she led you to the roof of her apartment building. “I’m bored and we have an exam to prepare for so multitasking is what we’re doing,” she answered as she opened the door and walked out onto the roof.
She sat down in a dirty white patio chair and you sat down in the one beside it. “Okay…but why are we up here?” You asked her. She rolled her eyes before turning her head to you. “I need fresh air.”
“And this is what you came up with?” You asked incredulously. “Can you just stop being an asshole for one second and do whatever you need to do with your papers.”
It was your turn to roll your eyes as you took out your binder. You flipped through it before looking at Tara. “What?” Was all she said. “Nothin.’ ” You responded before turning back to your binder.
“No, what?” She repeated and sat up. You looked over to her again. “I was just thinking–” you closed your binder, “–this is the perfect spot to chuck water balloons at people from.”
“That’s cruel…damn how didn’t I think about that?” Tara crossed her arms. “I know, it’s pretty genius. Don’t beat yourself up for not coming up with it first,” you winked and she scoffed.
“Yeah sure. Go back to your dumb binder.” You put a hand over your heart. “My binder is not dumb. It keeps things organized. Neat.”
“It also keeps girls away,” Tara stated. “Your sister doesn’t seem to mind it,” you replied. Tara immediately went to shove your shoulder. “Will you stop it with that?”
“The heart wants what the heart wants,” you joked.
“You know what–” she stood up “–I’m going back inside. “You can climb your way down for all I care.” She walked back inside, the door to the roof loudly shut when her words sunk in and furrowed your eyebrows.
“Wait– what?”
Did the door make a click sound?
You walked up to the door and tried to open. It was after a few more shakes of the door handle when you realized.
“She locked me out on the fucking roof.”
Tara knocked on your apartment door three times before Anika opened it. “Hey, Tara. What’s up?” Anika asked with a smile. Tara reciprocated the smile before answering, “Hey, I think I left my headphone charger last time I was over. So I was just wondering if I could take a look around?”
“Oh yeah, of course. Come inside.” Anika opened the door wider, letting Tara inside. Tara walked over to the couch and dug her hand in the cushion; already having an idea of where her charger is. “So,” Anika started, “you and Y/N seem to be doing a lot of school stuff together.”
Tara hummed and raised her eyebrows. “That? Well, yeah. Everybody else in our history class has kind of already buddied up for any future stuff so we got stuck together,” she responded as she felt the charger but couldn’t quite grasp it.
“Oh? I thought you two finished your group project thing last week,” Anika questioned as she walked over the kitchen, still within earshot of Tara.
“Yeah well–” Tara huffed as she continued to miss hold of the charger, “–our professor seems to be a fan of group work. Sometimes we end up studying together but it’s all just a ploy so I could copy her notes–” Damn, I almost got it that time, Tara thought to herself.
Anika laughed a little before replying, “Interesting.” It was more to herself than the other girl but Tara still heard it. Finally she got a hold of her charger and pulled it out of the couch. “Finally,” Tara sighed.
“Where is Y/N anyways?” Tara asked, putting the charger in her bag. “She’s away this weekend. Visiting family in Brooklyn.” Anika answered before Tara let out a little “Oh.”
“Did you need something from her?” Tara shook her head and waved her off. “No, just wondering…”
Anika gave her a look before continuing. “Alright then, do you wanna stay over for a bit? I was just gonna put on a movie.”
“Yeah sure, sounds great,” Tara replied before sitting down on the couch as Anika joined her.
Thirty minutes into the movie and Tara’s mind kept trailing back to you. It was extremely frustrating. Even when you weren’t here you were a nuisance to her. Clearly she just wasn’t used to being at your apartment this long without purposely trying to annoy you. Not like she could…right?
She took out her phone and found your contact not that it took long and started typing.
Tara (1:34 pm) you didn’t tell me you’d be out of town
Asshole (1:36 pm) oh sorry mom, didn’t know I had to tell you where
I am 24/7
Tara (1:36 pm)  apology accepted.
Tara (1:37 pm) enjoying brooklyn?
Asshole (1:37 pm) how tf do you know where I am?
Tara (1:38 pm) I have my sources
Asshole (1:38 pm) you’re literally obsessed with me
Tara (1:39 pm) am not
Asshole (1:39 pm) sure my little stalker
Asshole (1:40 pm) whatever helps you sleep at night
Tara (1:40 pm) god, you’re so annoying
Tara (1:41 pm) aren’t you supposed to be hanging out with family rn?
Asshole (1:41 pm) I’m currently hiding in the bathroom
Of course she is, Tara thought.
An hour later Tara was still staring at her phone with a smile as she typed away, letting out a few quiet giggles here and there. Anika would occasionally look over to Tara with curiosity. She may not have been told it was you that Tara was messaging but she had a feeling.
Anika’s own phone rang when she got a message from her girlfriend. “Hey, Tara–” Tara looked up from her phone for the first time in almost two hours, “–Mindy and the others are gonna come over in a bit for a movie night thing. You staying?”
“Sure, sounds good,” Tara responded before turning back to her phone. It’s not like you two were being lovey dovey or anything. Just your usual petty comments and insults you throw at each other. Maybe a very very small part of Tara could admit to herself, and herself only, that she missed it a little. But not you. She didn’t miss you. Oh no, that would mean she cared for you.
And she doesn’t! She could never, you were nothing but a nuisance and if she wanted to use that for her own entertainment then that’s her own business.
Mindy and the others came over about twenty minutes later. Tara didn’t get up from the couch, only greeting them with a couple of  “Hey’s” and “Hi’s.” Mindy noticed this and tilted her head at her girlfriend, raising an eyebrow. Anika shook her head, “Don’t bother. She’s been like this almost the entire time.”
This was all it took for the teasing to begin. Mindy sat down on the couch across from Tara with Anika in her lap. “So, Tara. Who is she?” Mindy asked with a smirk. Tara looked up from her phone with her eyebrows furrowed. “What?”
“You heard me. Who’s the girl that has you glued to your phone?” The other girl elaborated. Tara gave a nervous chuckle before responding. “That's ridiculous. You sound ridiculous.”
“Wow, getting defensive there Tar. Wait a minute, is it somebody we already know?” Mindy asked, Tara looked away with an eye roll. “Shit it is. But the question is who.”
“There’s no girl. There’s no anybody.” Tara failed to notice Chad peeking from behind her. “The contact name is asshole.” Chad said.
“Chad!” Tara quickly turned over her phone.
Anika and Mindy gasped at the same time. “Tara…anything you have to share with the class?” The younger Carpenter looked between Anika and Mindy before speaking.
“Chad’s a nosy prick and I’m hungry.” Tara stood up and grabbed her jacket off the coat rack. “I’m going to the store.”
“Get me something too, lover girl!” Mindy called out to Tara.
“Just for that you’re not getting shit!” Tara called back before leaving and slamming the door shut.
“Stop,” Tara said. You refused to meet her gaze as she stared up at you with her big doe eyes. “No.” Tara groaned in response.
It was Friday and Tara was over at your place to work on another assignment with you. Inevitably this meant you two did your typical bickering.
“I swear, Y/N if you call me short one more time–” You finally meet her gaze and cut her off, “Why? It’s true.”
“Doesn’t mean you have to point it out twenty four seven.” Tara rolled her eyes for the hundredth time that afternoon before she put her book down. “But it’s so fun.” You smirked at her unamused expression.
“But it’s so fun,” Tara repeated your words, changing her voice to mock you. You looked at her with a deadpan expression. “I do not sound like that.”
“You sure about that raspy?” You scoffed at her and crossed your arms. “I do not– you cannot just– you know what I’m getting water.” You stood up and walked over to the kitchen. “Maybe some tea while you’re at it,” Tara called out.
“Hey, maybe I can get you some milk. Heard it helps with growth,” You called back as you poured yourself some water. You heard Tara scoff before you opened the fridge and grabbed a juice box. You walked back to where you were previously sitting with Tara, placing the juice box in front of her and sitting down a few cushions over.
“What’s this?” You looked at her with furrowed eyebrows, “What do you mean?”
“What’s this?” Tara repeated, now pointing her thumb at the juice. “It’s juice. Clearly.” You sipped on your water before putting it back down and opening up your notebook.
How did you know her favorite juice brand? No, it was just a coincidence.
“Uh, earth to Ms. Carpenter–” you gently poked her shoulder, “–we gonna continue this or nah?”
“Why? You have somewhere more important to be?” Tara asked mockingly.
“Yes actually. A stupid date I should’ve never agreed to. Now, let’s get this–” Tara blinked a few times before cutting you off, “Wait a date? I find that hard to believe.”
“Did you come here to talk about my dating life or to work on this assignment?” Tara reluctantly turned back to her head back to her book and mumbled, “Whatever.”
Thirty minutes later, you two were finished. You closed your book with a huff and stretched. “Alright, I’m gonna change. You can stay here and do whatever.” You got up and walked to your room, Tara didn’t look up from her phone and only hummed.
She was hanging out with Anika and the others later so she was just staying at your and Anika’s apartment until they showed up. After fifteen minutes of scrolling through tiktok the door to your bedroom door opened and you walked out. Tara looked up from her phone and at you, immediately taking in your appearance.
It wasn’t anything fancy but you certainly caught her attention. “Alright, I’m off.” Is all you said before grabbing your keys. “You don’t look entirely like shit, by the way.” Tara wasn’t one for giving you, of all people, a compliment so when she said this you turned to look at her with furrowed eyebrows.
“Thanks?” You wore a confused expression as you opened the door and left the apartment.
As soon as you left Tara cupped her cheeks, silently pleading the heat rushing to her face wasn’t noticeable.
You pretend to laugh at what your date considered jokes. Truly, you didn’t care. The only reason you agreed to go was because it was a good distraction and Henry had a friend he wanted to set up. Little did you know he set you up for boredom.
Seriously, Henry. An accountant? You thought to yourself as you spared another fake smile. You don’t know how much longer you could go hearing about financial mumbo jumbo. Your date needed to find better topics before you died of boredom. You could only say “oh, really?” and “cool” so many times. Henry was going to pay for this. This is what you get for going against your “No blind date” rule.
Eventually the date came to an end at around ten thirty. In your opinion, it didn’t end soon enough. When you got to your apartment you could hear laughter on the other side of the door. You silently groaned before entering your key and opening the door.
You immediately felt their eyes on you but you chose to ignore them as you went straight to your room meaning you didn’t hear Mindy teasing Tara.
Mindy nudged Tara’s side, “No wonder she had you all tongue tied when we got here.” Tara shoved away Mindy’s elbow. “I was not tongue tied.”
“You were having a full on gay crisis–” Chad started but Tara cut him off  by chucking a die at him “–um ow?”
“I was not having a gay crisis. Especially not over Y/N freaking Y/L/N.” Anika smirked before joining in. “I briefly remember you pacing back and forth,” the girl pointed out.
“Was not! I was just a little confused about something but I’m fine now,” Tara stammered as she earned skeptical looks. “Now, Ethan it’s your turn. Roll the dice.”
“Okay–” Ethan stopped as Mindy raised her hand to stop him. “You’re deflecting, Tar.”
“Nuh uh,” Tara responded, sounding like a child. “Ethan if you don’t roll the fucking dice–”
Ethan immediately started shaking the dice in his hand before rolling them. “Fine, have it your way. But just know I will get to the bottom of this.”
“There’s nothing to figure out,” Tara said with crossed arms. Mindy narrowed her eyes at the younger Carpenter but otherwise dropped the topic for the time being.
The entire time they were there you stayed in your room. You laid down on your bed with your headphones on and music blasting. Your shoes had been kicked off and you were now in your pajamas. There was always the possibility of going deaf by fifty but loud music was good. It was a distraction.
You haven’t even thought about how last week was Dewey’s death anniversary. In fact, you ignored it entirely last week too. Some may say that’s unhealthy but you had your own coping methods.
But does it really count if you aren’t coping at all?–
Suddenly you heard knocking on your bedroom door and pulled off your headphones. “Y/N, we’re going out for some pizza. You wanna come?” Anika asked you from the other side of your door.
“No, thanks.” You responded without a second thought before putting your headphones back on.
Anika walked back in the living room and sat back down in her girlfriend’s lap. “Y/N’s a no go.”
“Alright, when do you guys wanna leave? Cause I'm starving.” Chad said, rubbing his stomach.
“You’re always starving,” Mindy remarked.
The next day Tara surprisingly beat you to class. You slept through your alarm and it was the first time you had gotten a decent night’s sleep in weeks. I’ll take the win, you thought to yourself. Tara gave you a single glance before turning back to the front of the class.
“You’re later than usual.” Tara stated, still not looking at you. “Was up late, thinking about your sister,” you responded which earned you a pinch to your thigh.
“You’re disgusting.”
After hours of note passing and unnecessary side arguments with Tara, history class ended and you got up. As soon as you leave class you feel an arm wrap around your shoulder. “How was your date?” You looked over to see Henry.
“Shitty and extremely boring. Wouldn’t stop talking about financial stuff or whatever and I think pilsners were even brought up at some point? As if that would grease up the conversation.” You were starting to bore yourself just talking about it.
“Sorry about that.” Henry gave you an apologetic smile before speaking again. “But if you wanna try again there’s a–”
“No no no–” you cut him off, “–I’m not doing this again.”
“You’re never forgiving me for this, are you?” You sighed and answered, “You are not allowed to set me up ever again.”
“Yup, sounds about right–” he unwrapped his arm from your shoulder, “–I gotta head to class but I’ll see you around.” You bumped your fist with his before he made his way to class.
After you finished your classes you went and you started your shift. It was a slow day at the cafe you worked at. You were focused on the counter until one of your regulars walked in.
“Hey,” she greeted with a charming smile. “Hey,” you repeated back to her. “Your usual?” She nodded and you started to make it. “Not many people today,” she said as she looked around.
“Yeah, you caught me on a slow day.” You put a lid on her drink before giving it to her. She thanked you before handing out her money for the coffee.
She cut you off before you could speak. “Don’t say ‘on the house.’ Let me get it this time. I don’t need this coming out of your paycheck.” You playfully rolled your eyes as you took the money. “Fine,” you sighed with a smile.
You put the money in the register and gave her her change. “How else am I supposed to show you you’re my favorite regular?” She put the change in the tip jar. “Don’t worry, I know hun. See you later,” she waved as she started to walk out.
“See ya, Natalie.” You still had a smile plastered on your face that was quickly wiped off when Anika’s voice snuck up on you. “What was that?” You jumped and put a hand over your chest. “Jeez, Anika. Little warning next time?”
“You would’ve noticed us if you weren’t busy flirting with your regular.” You tilted your head slightly before responding. “Us?”
Anika turned back and discreetly pointed to a table where Mindy, Tara, Chad and Ethan sat. “Great. Now she knows where I work,” you huffed.
“Are you expecting her to put a hit on you?” Anika asked rhetorically. “Wouldn’t put it past her,” you mumbled. “You two can be so immature.”
“Are you here to be judgmental or to order something?” You crossed your arms as you looked at your roommate. “I can multitask,” she replied before ordering.
Anika went back to the table with the drinks and pastries. “Alright, here we are.” She gave everybody their order. Mindy kissed her cheek, “Thanks babe.”
Anika smiled and replied, “You’re welcome, babe.” Tara sipped her coffee before speaking up. “Who was that chick Y/N was speaking to?” She asked, looking over to Anika.
“I think it’s one of her regulars. She’s always been pretty flirty with her,” Anika responded as Mindy smirked. “Why, Tar? You jealous?” Tara scoffed. “You sound ridiculous–” Tara said her next words in a hushed tone, “and can you lower your voice?” They all subconsciously looked over to see you wiping down counters with your headphones in.
“Ah hah–” Mindy pointed a finger at Tara, “–I knew there was something.” Tara lazily pushed Mindy’s finger out of the way. “There’s nothing. I was just curious.”
“I don’t know Tar it does seem pretty–” Tara cut off Chad, “Well nobody asked you Chad. And come on guys. All this because I brought up how I told her she doesn’t look entirely shitty? You’re just reaching.”
“Oh am I? Remember that dream you told me about–” Mindy began and Tara’s eyes widened. “Don’t you dare bring that up. Besides that dream meant nothing. It was just– a dream.” Mindy gave her a look that said, “Really?”
“If I may–” Ethan started. “No. You may not,” Tara finished for him.
“Haven’t you two also been doing like a bunch of study sessions together?” Mindy asked with a raised eyebrow. “All a ploy to copy her notes,” Tara claimed.
“Is the flirting all a part of the plan?” Anika asked Tara who was now feeling betrayal. “Traitor.” She mumbled.
“So you don’t deny the flirting?” Chad asked with a smirk.
Tara looked over to him with a deadpan expression. “You’re really no help. You know what–” Tara got up with her coffee “–I’m leaving. I don’t need to stand for this interrogation any further.”
“See you, lover girl,” Mindy said to Tara who was flipping them off as she left the cafe.
Tara should’ve never told Mindy about that damn dream. Next time she wants to know the meaning of a dream, she’s turning to google.

Fuck it I love you
Tumblr media
pairing: sam carpenter x fem!reader
summary: When paired with Tara Carpenter for a project you were expecting a B or maybe even an A. Not falling in love with Tara's older sister, Sam.
series masterlist
words: 2.320k
warnings: mean sam, light swearing, reader being down bad for our sammy, bad writing
authors note: alright my darlings the first chapter to the sam mini series as promised. the wonderful anon who requested this, my dear i am so sorry it took so long for me to get to this. although it's taken a while, i do hope you still enjoy this! feedback and comments are greatly appreciated:)
The wonders of college.
You get to meet new people, explore your sexuality, party like there’s no tomorrow, try new things and staying up till three in the morning  crying over a piece of work that’s due that very morning that you decided to wait till the last minute to do only to instantly regret it, saying you’ll never do the same mistake next time but  knowing deep down inside you will.
And of course the trials and tribulations of group projects. Something everyone loathed, and if anyone said otherwise they’re lying.
You have never been a fan of group projects; so when your professor announced that you’ll be doing a pair project you couldn’t tell if you wanted to slap him or cry. Probably both. The absolute worst thing about projects that involve more than one party member is awkwardly asking a stranger if they’re willing to work with you.
That’s why when you heard that familiar sweet voice speak to you, you couldn’t help but smile.
“You cool with doing this together?” Tara Carpenter asked you with a nervous smile.
You and Tara aren’t exactly friends, more like acquaintances; if one missed a presentation the other would give them their notes to copy off of, saving a seat next to each other, saying hello if you ever see each other around campus.
It isn’t the fact you don’t want to be friends with Tara, she seems like a really kind woman but she’s quite distant and quiet. You can’t judge her or shame her for it since you’re shy, awkward and always in a state of anxiety.
Maybe this would be the push to make you and Tara become friends.
You smile at the brunette with an appreciative gleam in your eyes. “Please. I was already planning a speech on why the professor should allow me to do this alone.” Tara laughs, covering her mouth with her hand as the corner of her eyes crinkled with delight.
“Lucky for me then.” Tara stays silent for a few moments before she added. “Do you wanna just get the whole awkward phone exchange now?”
You chuckled, nodding your head as you dug out your phone from the pocket of your hoodie, unlocking it and passing it over to her. Tara stares between and your phone almost bewildered with the fact you just passed your phone over to her without hesitation, rather than just saying your number.
She slowly takes your phone and adds her phone number into your contacts texting herself before passing it back to you. You smiled at her as you pocketed your phone back into its original space of your pocket.
___________
A few days have passed ever since you and Tara exchanged phone numbers but no plans had been made on when you two should start. You refused to leave this till the last second like you’ve done so many times before, swallowing your nerves you unlock your phone and send Tara a message.
Me (11:32am): hey tara it’s y/n from class, i was wondering what day we can meet to start our project. i was thinking we could meet in the library whenever you can :)
Instantly you shut your phone off after the message is delivered; there always has been something so weirdly intimidating about messaging someone you don’t really know. Deciding to distract yourself you go make yourself a sandwich for lunch, leaving your phone in your room.
After two episodes of New Girl and a delicious sandwich had been eaten you returned to your room in search of your phone. Flopping down on your bed you grab your phone and see Tara has messaged you back.
Tara (12:15pm): hi y/n:) if you’re free we can meet today to get started on our project? the only issue is that i can’t come to the library
Me (12:23pm): im more than good with today!! :D
Me (12:23pm): do you wanna come over to my apartment then??
Tara (12:24pm): actually is it alright if you come over to my apartment, around half two?
Me (12:24pm): yeah idm, just as long as we start it lol. where do you live?
Tara (12:28pm): the apartment complex near Blackmore, apartment number 56
Me (12:28pm): okie dokie, see you soon :D
Tara (12:29pm): 😊👍
You grinned to yourself slightly proud you’ve decided to be smart and start this project early. You just hoped the actual planning of the project would go just as smoothly.
___________
At two you decided to leave your apartment, wearing a simple white shirt along with some mom jeans. Not even ten minutes into your walk it began pouring down with rain, leaving you sprinting towards the complex as your heavy backpack hit your bag with every step.
Slamming the double door entrance to the apartment complex open, you instantly gasp for breath as water drips off of every part of you.
How fucking typical.
You pull out your phone and with wet fingers you send Tara a quick message before slowly starting to walk up the stairs.
By the second floor you started to get tired, by the third you began wondering why the fuck there isn’t an elevator in this place, by the fourth you’re questioning your life choices and by the time you arrive on the fifth floor you’re breathing like a life long smoker who just ran towards the store after noticing they’re out of cigarettes.
Like a zombie you walk over to the apartment door with the number ‘56’ on it, sluggishly you raise your hand and knock on the door two times.
After a painstakingly long time a woman answers the door, and you’re pretty sure your heart explodes at the sight of her.
She’s got olive skin that looks so irresistibly smooth, dark brown eyes that glared at you, she’s around the same height of you if not maybe a bit taller. She’s leaning against the door frame as she’s only opened the door a small amount so her figure could be shown.
Her lips are pulled in a tight straight line as her arms crossed over her stomach, the tight grey vest top she’s wearing showing off her impressive biceps. She’s glaring at you with her cold eyes as she glowers down at you.
“Who are you?” She asks in a voice that is ever so raspy, her eyes gazing up and down your body. Your ears burn scarlet red at her eyes checking you out as you stare at her in awe. “I’m, uhm, Tara’s project partner. Y/n L/n.” You stutter out as you can feel your heart beating erratically in your chest.
If this isn't gay panic you don’t know what is.
“Why are you so wet?” She questions with judging eyes.
‘Cause of you
“It started raining after I left my apartment and I didn’t bring a coat.” You explained with a nervous smile as you locked eyes with the woman’s.
She hummed as she turned to look behind her, after a few seconds the door opened wider and Tara appeared next to the woman, the height difference between the two almost making you laugh.
Tara smiled a small smile to you before it faded and changed into shocked one. “You’re soaked.” She states in a matter of fact way. You laugh nervously as you nod your head, rubbing the back of your neck with your hand. “Started raining on the way here.”
She frowned concerned as she took a step back, allowing you to enter, while the older woman still stayed in the doorway, glaring daggers at you. You swallowed nervously as Tara glared at the woman. “Sam, she's fine, don't be a bitch.”
Sam
Sam stares at you for a while before she reluctantly leaves the doorway and back into the apartment, you smile at Sam’s behaviour as you turn to look at Tara.
“Sorry about her, she's just really protective over me.” Tara apologises with a smile as you enter the apartment, closing the door behind you.
As you get a good view of the apartment you notice two other people talking to Sam, you've seen them around Blackmore.
The three of them are glaring at you as they whisper among each other. When they notice you’re looking at them they silence, all silently staring back at you.
Without thinking, you wave your hand at them as you smile. “Hi, I’m Y/n. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen you two before around campus.”
Tara doesn’t allow you to say more as her slender fingers wrap around your wrist as she drags you towards the dining table, your eyes remained on her beautiful sister Sam.
“I'll get you a towel, you prepare.” Tara tells you with a smile before taking off. You nod your head as you do as she said, take off your backpack and take out everything from inside it and place it onto the table.
Tara thankfully returns a few minutes later with a towel and a dry hoodie, she passes them over to you.
“You can borrow the hoodie if you want since your shirt is more than less see through.” She says with an amused laugh, you look down at blush at the fact it’s quite obvious you’re wearing a black bra.
“Thank you.” You tell her with an embarrassed laugh as you shamelessly take off your shirt and throw it into your bag before putting on the hoodie. It's warm and slightly too big for you, but you don’t mind it.
Grabbing the towel you place it under you, making sure you wouldn’t utterly soak the chair from the rain on your pants.
She gives a smile before she begins talking about her plans on what you two could do, stretching to reach the notebook full of notes you had brought with you.
You tried listening to Tara, you truly did, but not even five minutes after Tara had begun talking Sam had entered the kitchen to make a drink.
Suddenly every word Tara uttered it went into one ear and flew right through the other.
Her back faced you as she grabbed the glass from the top cabinet, not even having to go on the tip of her toes to reach it, something the shorter Carpenter would definitely have to do.
You smiled without noticing the longer you gazed at the gorgeous woman as she carried on making her drink.
“Y/n.”
You snapped your head back at Tara who had her eyebrows raised. “Did you listen to anything I said?”
Sam turned to look at the both of you as she leaned against the counter, sipping her drink. Her eyes focused on you as she drank at a slow pace.
You smiled nervously at her to which Sam only scowled back at you.
“Yeah, uhm, work and stuff right?” You waffled with a smile, Tara simply sighed as she shook her head. She went to say something but got interrupted by her older sister.
“Is that my hoodie?” Your head whips back towards Sam’s direction, Sam’s eyes focused on you. You blushed as you noticed Tara and let you borrow McHottie’s Sam's hoodie, not hers.
Your fingers toyed with the bottom of the hoodie nervously, before you could reply with utter gibberish Tara answered over you. “I let her borrow it since she was completely soaked.” She explained with a brief tight smile.
Sam hummed as she dropped the glass onto the counter. “But why give my hoodie to her? Why not yours?”
“Because It was closest to me, Sam. Jesus she isn’t going to do anything so calm down.” Tara defended you in an annoyed tone now, her eyes glaring at Sam as she leaned on her hand. “And tell Chad and Mindy to cut it out with the staring.”
“I can give it back if you’d like?” You gingerly asked. Both of the girl’s heads snapped towards you at your words.
“You don’t have to-” Tara started before Sam interrupted her speedily
“Yes. Give it back.” She demanded, pushing herself off the counter as she advanced towards you. Without hesitation you ripped the hoodie off of you, pulling it over your head quickly as your shirt rolled up with it.
You smiled sweetly at her as you passed her the hoodie with your right hand, your left hand not so subtly pulling down your shirt. Her fingers grazed over your knuckles as she retrieved the jumper from your hand, her eyes ogling at your shirt momentarily.
Her eyes connected with yours again as she pulled the hoodie to her side, she glowered over you as you looked up at her with a nervous smile.
She’s so fucking pretty, oh my fucking-
“Don’t give my stuff out again, Tara.” Sam told her sister as her eyes stayed glued to yours, “Sure, whatever, will you just leave now?” Tara says with annoyance clear in her tone, Sam stared at you for a few more seconds before she fulfilled her sister’s wish by leaving the kitchen silently.
Your eyes followed her leaving until she was out of your sight. Your eyes landed on the glaring twins to which you smiled awkwardly at them before you returned your attention back to Tara.
The shorter girl huffed as she flicked through a few pages of a notebook. “Sorry about her, she’s just really protective over me.” She apologised again.
You smiled dreamily at her as you thought more of the older sister. “You don’t have to apologise, it’s actually kinda sweet.”
Tara gives you a funny look as she snorts a laugh, her fingers finally stopping as she lands on the particular page she was looking for. “You must be delusional if you think Sam is sweet.”
Guess I’m delusional then, you thought with a smile as your eyes gazed over the half full glass Sam had left in the kitchen.

“Can you name three of Shakespeare’s histories, tragedies, and comedies?”
I wonder how planes fly. Like, where’s the physics in that? Tara thought as she stared blankly at the notebook in front of her, the page filled with half-assed notes about literature. And why can’t we fly? That’s bullshit.
“Tara? Are you with me?”
This mattress is really comfy. I should ask her where she got it.
“Tar?”
Tara glanced up at the sound of your voice, blushing as she realized that you had been asking her a question, which had promptly flown over her head because of how boring the topic was.
“Sorry, what was the question?” she asked sheepishly, smiling at the way you giggled.
“Three histories, three tragedies, three comedies,” you said.
She’ll be lucky if I can even name three plays in general. Tara huffed, pulling her bottom lip between her teeth as she thought. “Okay, comedies: Twelfth Night, The Merchant of Venice, and…uh, The Winter’s Tale?”
You tilted your head, eyes narrowed as you thought about her answer. “Twelfth Night and The Merchant of Venice, yes, but The Winter’s Tale is technically labeled as a tragicomedy nowadays.” What the fuck is a tragicomedy? Tara thought. She blinked at you, and you clicked your tongue. “I think your professor would accept that, though. Next?”
“Othello, Antony and Cleopatra, and Titus Andronicus--tragedies.” You nodded, not even sparing a glance at your own note sheet that you had pulled out to help Tara study. How does she just know this shit off the top of her head? “And histories? All of the Henry plays.”
You chuckled. “Can you be more specific?”
“No.”
“Tar, come on.” You crossed the room and sat on your bed, leaving your desk abandoned. She held her breath at your sudden closeness, your shoulder nudging against hers as you pointed at her notebook. “You have them written down.” You squinted. “I think? Tara, I can’t even read this.”
She looked down at her notes. What she had thought was legible writing was, in fact, just chicken-scratch. “Oh,” she said. “I think I was falling asleep during this lecture.” She sighed and leaned back against your pillows. “This is stupid. I’m a film major! I don’t need to know about Shakespeare or Hawthorne or the Pope!”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “Do you mean Pope, as in Alexander Pope?”
Tara frowned. “Same difference.”
“I don’t think that’s how that works.” You shook your head, giggling. “Look, I know you find literature boring--”
“Literature is the bane of my existence,” she stated, crossing her arms over her chest.
You leaned back, and Tara tensed as you placed your head on her shoulder. Must. Stay. Perfectly. Still.
“You didn’t have to take Intro to Lit., you know. There’s a lot of other courses that could’ve fulfilled this credit.”
She grumbled. “Mindy told me to take it. She said it would be easy.” She clenched her jaw. “It’s not easy.”
A laugh erupted from your throat, shaking Tara’s frame, and a grin pulled at her lips at the sound. “Of course she would think it’s easy, Tar,” you said. “She likes literature.”
“Whatever,” she huffed.
You sat up and twisted yourself so that you could look at her, your eyes soft and smile softer. “Come on.” You pulled lamely at her arm. “We’ve gotta get back to studying.”
“Fine.” She sat up and rested her chin on your shoulder. “But I’m not happy about it.” She felt as you shivered when she spoke, her breath painting over the skin of your cheek.
Your eyes flitted down to her lips, and just when she thought you were about to lean in, you asked, “Can you explain the idea of the Blazon to me?”
She clamped her eyes shut. This girl will be the death of me. She opened her eyes, looked at the small smile that was always on your lips whenever you were around her, and sighed out, “Okay.” And I’ll gladly accept that death.
* * *
“There’s only, like, three more authors we have to go over, Tar.”
It had been nearly four hours since you had moved away from Shakespeare and onto the other works that Tara had been reading for her literature class, and it was safe to say that Tara was burned out.
“Can’t we just take a nap or something instead?” she asked. She tugged at the sleeve of your sweatshirt to pull you to lay back with her. “Or make out?”
The tips of your ears turned bright pink, and she was sure that if you were facing her, the rest of your face would be the same hue. “Shut up,” you mumbled. You looked at her, and her guess was proven correct--you were blushing all over. “We have to do Emily Dickinson.”
“Oh! Like that TV series with Hailee Steinfeld.”
Your eyes widened. “You watched that?”
She shrugged. “Some of it, but I was only paying attention to--”
“Hailee Steinfeld, of course.” You chuckled. “You didn’t listen to any of the poems, did you?”
She waved you off. “Of course I didn’t.”
You shook your head and looked down at her notes, eyebrows furrowing and a scoff pushing past your lips. “You guys didn’t even read any of her best poems,” you said. You stood suddenly, and Tara watched as you crossed the room to your backpack, pulling out a small, battered, leather-bound journal. You cracked it open. “Like, how did your professor never assign ‘I Cannot Live With You’?”
Tara shrugged. “Never heard of it.”
You cleared your throat. “‘I cannot live with you,’” you began, taking small steps toward the bed as you read. “‘It would be life--, and life is over there--, behind the shelf.’” You sat on the edge of the bed, eyes still trained on your notebook. “‘The Sexton keeps the key to--, putting up, our life--his porcelain--, like a cup.’”
Tara listened as you continued to read her the poem, her heartbeat speeding up at each word that rolled off your tongue. You looked so peaceful reading poetry, like you had just made your way home after a long trip, and she gulped. Jesus Christ, she thought. Could she be any more perfect?
“‘So we must meet apart--, you there--I--here--, with just the door ajar, that oceans are--and prayer--, and that white sustenance--, despair,’” you finished, glancing up at her when you were done. She was staring back at you with half-lidded eyes and her mouth slightly agape. “Isn’t it beautiful?”
“You’re beautiful,” she breathed out, and you smiled, blushing again. “Can we makeout now? Because that was, like, the hottest thing ever.”
You shut your journal and threw it near Tara’s notebook. “You’re horrible,” you joked. She shrugged, like she couldn’t be blamed for wanting to pounce on you. “Since your mind is so set on kissing me, let’s turn your studying into a little game.”
Tara eyebrow’s furrowed. Why won’t she just make out with me? “A game?”
“I’ll ask you questions, and if you get them right, you’ll get a kiss,” you said. She nodded fervently and sat up, hovering over her notebook.
“Okay! I’m ready!” She glanced at you, watching as you giggled to yourself. “Also, before we start, is this entire thing”--she pointed at your journal--“filled with poems?”
You shook your head. “The back half is poems, the front half is plays and novels.”
She picked up the little book and opened it, eyes widening at your delicate handwriting detailing different plays that you wanted to read or novels that your professors suggested. She flipped to the back half, where she found pages upon pages of poems written out, some from Emily Dickinson, some from authors she had never heard of in her life.
“You’re such a nerd, you know,” she teased, putting the journal back down.
“Yeah, a nerd that’s gonna get you a passing grade on this damn midterm.” You grabbed her notebook from her, leafing through the pages before settling on a topic. “Okay, what literary period was Alexander Pope in?” you asked.
“Uh, an old one,” Tara said lamely.
You glared at her lightly. “Tar, I’m not kissing you until you get one right, so you might as well try.”
She huffed. “Fine.” Literary period? Stupid. It’s all stupid. “The Restoration?”
“Close,” you said. “Wanna try again?”
“No.”
You rolled your eyes teasingly. I’d like to see her eyes rolling in a different way-- “It’s the Augustan Age. What about Jonathan Swift?”
“Oh! I know this! It’s also the Augustan Age, ‘cause he and Pope were friends.”
You tilted your head. “They weren’t really friends, but--”
“But that’s right, isn’t it? Don’t I get my kiss now?”
You chuckled at her eagerness. “You sure do.” Tara leaned forward, and she frowned when you put a hand on her shoulder to stop her. “If you can name one piece that Swift wrote.”
She gasped, placing a hand on her chest. “You said you’d kiss me if I got a question right!” she whined.
“I also said I’d get you to pass this test.” You raised an eyebrow at her. “So, what did Swift write? Give me literally anything.”
Cruel Summer, Cardigan, Back to December. She shook her head. That’s Taylor Swift, stupid. Jonathan Swift, on the other hand…
“Uh, ‘A Modest Proposal’?”
You leaned forward, pressed your lips to hers, and she grinned into the kiss. Win!
“Good job, baby,” you said when you pulled away, your eyes widening when you realized the pet name that had slipped out. “I mean, uh--”
“‘Baby’, huh?” She bit her bottom lip and smiled. “I could get used to hearing you say that.”
bonus: “i got an A on my midterm!” tara exclaimed from where she sat at her desk, eyes on her laptop, which displayed the grade that had just been released.
mindy, who was scrolling through her phone on tara’s bed, jumped at the sound. “you got an A? On Intro to Lit.?”
tara grinned. “it pays having an english major for a girlfriend.”
“girlfriend?!” mindy immediately started scrambling on her phone, and tara heard her own phone buzz on her desk a minute later. she picked it up, glancing at the screen.
you :D (9:43pm): girlfriend, huh?
you :D (9:43pm): i wasn’t aware we were girlfriends yet
tara (9:44pm): hold that thought
tara twisted in her seat, eyes narrowed at mindy. “i swear to god, i am going to strangle you.”

Tara Carpenter x Female Reader (Scream Queen)
Warnings: mentions of murder, killing, death, slight angst, scars, dead bodies, tiny fluff, deep shit? Bad translation?
A/N: my dear I tried my best. I hope I understood what you meant with scream queen. If not. Text me I’ll make another story 😉 I think it turned out somehow dark. Also I really wrote not much between reader and the gang. I tried. But somehow it turned out like this. Hope you guys like it tho 🧡
Let’s heal together
I hissed lightly as I impatiently drank a sip of my fresh cocoa. I know… y/age and still drink cocoa? What can I say. This sweet soothing scent and the taste itself made me feel things that calmed me down for a few minutes. Once again, I took a deep breath through my nose when I took another small sip. I closed my eyes in torment. My tongue burned and tingled. It was like this sweet temptation to take it, but I couldn't let it go. Now I opened my eyes again and looked around the campus of Blackmore College.
"New city... new life" I whispered to myself as I wrapped the cup in which my cocoa was with both hands to warm it.
It was winter and the air was icy and pungent. I just hoped to reach the library quickly in order to be able to continue working on my work for the film course.
I put on my headphones after I could laboriously untangle the cables with one hand. Never in my life would I get AirPods, I would be too scared and definitely had too little money to be able to buy new ones if they thought they had to fall out of my ears.
So I stayed with my classic headphones that no longer had an aux connection but a USB c... crazy how everything changes I thought.
My free hand lights up red, the cold was too harsh. Trembling, I took out my phone and started a playlist with dramatic classical music.
Now I got closer to the library, the wind seemed to be my enemy. Hair strands were at the locations of my face that made me restless. When I arrived at the library, the warm air of the heating ventilation hit me. I sigh slightly as I straightened my hair and looked for a free place. In the end, I found a small table at the end of the library on which I could work undisturbed. Nervously, I repeated in my head
"Ignore them, they don't stare at you"
Nevertheless, I didn't leave the feeling of having been stared at by everyone. Was it the way I looked?
Was my hair weird? Were my eyes too conspicuous? Or was it my face in general? More and more I began to look for reasons.
Is it my look? My sweater? My jeans? Or maybe it was the shoes?
But I actually knew the real reason. Well... I suspected it.
They knew who I was. What my story was. Well... they at least only knew what the media told them.
In the end, I made it to the table at the end of the library. A dark wooden table with two chairs. I put my things down on one of the chairs and slowly sat down on the opposite one. Instead of looking through the corridor of the library again, I instead looked out of the window to my left and watched it start to rain.
I unpacked my iPad and started correcting the given "bad" script. We had received the task from our professor to correct a script.
Now time passed little by little. Students came and went. It didn't stop raining and slowly got dark outside, so the library was forced to turn on its warm lamps. I automatically felt safer and more secure. I always found it interesting how warm light represented a safe mood.
Suddenly I recognized a shadow in the corner of my eye.
I took out one of my headphones to better perceive my surroundings. To find out where this shadow came from, I looked over and made acquaintance with dark... no. Almost black eyes. Within seconds, I had noticed the person's face. A friendly and somehow sweet smile. Beautiful teeth. Dimples. And not to forget the light freckles on her nose and cheeks.
I could perceive all this within a few seconds and that even though I only looked into her eyes.
Eyes so dark that they were almost black. Eyes in which the light of the small lamp was already reflected on the table.
"Can I sit down with you?"
She asked and I easily lifted the corners of my mouth without really realizing it and took my coat and backpack directly from the chair to make her place.
As a thank you, she gave me an even wider smile back before she sat down and opened her laptop. Curious, I looked back to the large corridor of the library because I had wondered. Why did she want to sit here?
This question was answered with my look back to the hallway. It had become quite full in the library.
In silence, we both worked on our tasks without worrying about the other in the slightest.
Later, a gossiping mixed group of boys and girls ran past us.
"Looks like the freaks have found each other," one of the girls whispers and tells us condescendingly. With eyebrows pulled together and a concentrated look, I looked after them as they giggled and turned around again before they disappeared. What did she mean by that? I asked myself and still looked confused with working head after them even though they were no longer visible.
"Don't worry. They would never be able to understand us..." A soft voice tore me out of the trance.
"Hm?" I asked and my eyes landed on the girl sitting opposite me.
Her facial expression was gentle, yet there was a cheeky grin on her lips.
"To be the survivors..."
With a slightly tilted head, I looked at her and tried to understand.
"You... don't know?" She asked surprised and smiled even more broadly as if she had to laugh at this situation.
"What to know?" I asked calmly and slightly annoyed. She closed her laptop and stretched out her hand to me "Tara Carpenter by the way"
Confused but with slightly raised corners of my mouth, I took her in comparison to my dainty hand and shook her "Y/N Y/L/N"
When I did this, our eye contact began to become firmer and firmer and then I began to understand and my eyes widened in surprise "Tara? Oh..."
That was the moment I realized it.
She nodded and smiled forcedly before our hands separated from each other and her look became a little more serious "yeah..."
I sighed and looked at her facial features again this time... they looked so much different to me. Now that I knew who she was. What her stories were. Well the things I knew from the media only.
"I'm impressed..." I said gently with a look deeply lost in thought.
"I should be the one who is impressed. What you've been through..." she began, turning her gaze away and smiling as she sighed.
"Maybe... But you went through it twice... Try not to make yourself less strong" I said, smiling broadly.
"How small the world is..." I said and had to laugh slightly about it. So I was sitting here now. At a table with Tara Carpenter. Survivor of two Ghostface attacks.
Tara stood up on her chair as she put her arms on the table to prevent something "can I ask you something?"
I nodded and looked at her gently
"How did you deal with it? Some of us went to therapy... I tried to forget somehow... but I promised my sister to visit a therapist"
I sighed barely audible
"At first I had also tried to just forget it. But there are far too many things that remind me over and over again. Things that were once associated with good memories" thoughtfully I looked down at my iPad before I locked it.
I shrugged my shoulders
"If you know my weights... you can certainly imagine that I was forced into therapy from a certain point. To make sure I'm not crazy"
Tara nodded and something about her attitude and the way these Bambi-like eyes looked at me, I felt the feeling of being able to tell her everything.
It was now two years ago when my family was killed by my own father.
How I survived, It still was a mystery to myself today and how I didn't lose my mind all the more confusing. My family was never perfect. They were fighting here and there. They said worse things more often, but I never thought it would really come to one of these things. So it came to one thing at a time. A quarrel that degenerated... first my mother. I was glad that she didn't have to suffer... nevertheless, my mind couldn't understand that she wasn't there from now on. She wasn't there anymore because of a broken neck. I would never forget the look in my father's eyes. It was no remorse. No fear. It was darkness. Pure darkness. I was looking for shelter in one of the bedrooms. Heard the screams of my younger brother...
I took a deep breath to stop thinking about it. In order to no longer hear the screams, I changed the music. A song like once liked to sing together. In addition, we shot embarrassing lipsync video.
"How was it for you?" I whispered and looked up at Tara. Darkness. Eyes so dark that they looked black. After what my father did, I hated brown eyes. But Tara's eyes... they made me curious and thoughtful.
"Someone to kill who was actually close to you?" Tara asked, I nodded silently to answer her question.
After what my father did, I somehow managed to surprise and kill him. I was trapped in the house with the bodies of my family for 24 hours. It took me 24 hours to realize what happened. I needed 24 to understand that they would never come back. It took me 24 hours to understand that I was now also a murderer.
"Hard..." said Tara as our eyes parted and she looked down thoughtfully.
I nodded, "I think I can well imagine it..."
Tara looked up at me and nodded.
"It's hard to process it. Therapy is somehow always good. It at least calms the court or the police... but I guess everyone has to find out for themselves how best to process it..." I took a deep breath and looked down at my phone to look at the cover of the song that was currently playing.
"I try to repeat the good memories... over and over again in my head. Although they remind me of the bad at the same time... somewhere it helps. Somehow it calms me to know that I will never stop thinking about them..."
Tara nodded
"Maybe I'm getting too close to you and maybe that's very off topic now. But would you like a coffee? And talking about something that doesn't remind us of our messed-up life’s?"
I smiled and laughed dryly.
"That sounds good..."
From that moment on
I didn't know how my life would change. I didn't know that I would fall in love with eyes that were so dark and scary for me once. I didn't know I would live on. I didn't know I would create new good memories. I didn't know I would have a new family.
Days passed. Days became weeks and soon weeks became months.
If I didn't meet Tara at least once a week, we would write to each other day and night. At first I wasn't sure if it was good to be friends with each other, if we might be too toxic for each other. But it was the opposite. We lived on. We healed. We were there for each other. We understood each other without really talking about it.
"Are you coming over? The others would like to get to know you," Tara wrote to me at 8:00 in the evening. I hesitated with the message. However, I couldn't think of any reason not to go, as if I found myself 30 minutes later in front of Tara and Sam's apartment door. As soon as I knocked on it, I could perceive several voices. When the door opened, I met a broadly smiling and laughing Tara. I looked down a little shy. Her eyes, which once didn't have a great effect on me, made it harder and harder for me over the time when we became friends. At first I liked to look at them. Then I began to lose myself in my thoughts. Then I started to feel nervous. It usually started with goosebumps... which then turned into a tingling. Since then, I couldn't look her in the eyes for long without feeling like I was doing something that was probably wrong.
"I hope you're ready for a discussion about some movies" Tara began when she ran towards me and hugged me as a greeting. I replied to this lightly and said
"I don't care... I'll stay out of it"
Slowly I followed Tara into the living room and saw the remaining members of core 4.
I grinned broadly "wow the core 4. Can I get autographs?"
Mindy laughed and looked at me proudly "I already like her. Come here Y/n"
I sat down slightly shyly next to Mindy and was drawn into the discussion between Barbie and Oppenheimer without wanting to.
"Mindy go easy on her," said Sam with a head-shaking smile on the armchair. I sighed and my gaze fell to chad "go ahead Y/n what do you think? As a film student"
I leaned back on the couch and began "that the message behind the Barbie movie is great, we don't have to discuss any further... Oppenheimer is purely cinematic a must for itself. That's all I'm saying about it" Tara grinned broadly and threw the pillow that was lying next to Y/n on chad before she dropped next to her "see Chad. We told you"
We discussed different films throughout the evening and got to know each other in between.
Mindy put her arm around Y/n and asked with a slightly dirty grin "are you staying the night? We want to make a spontaneous trip to coney island together tomorrow"
Y/n didn't quite understand the combination of Mindy's body language and the question and was a bit overwhelmed to answer directly.
"Y/n doesn't like sleepovers," Tara said relaxed. When y/n looked at Tara and caught her heart beating faster, Mindy gave Tara a look that meant something like "shut up, I'm trying to clarify things for you here" which Y/N of course didn't see.
"Is there a specific reason?" Sam asked seriously while she let all the scenarios go through her head.
Y/n shrugged her shoulders
"I don't like sharing beds or being not able to sleep in my own bed in general"
"Tara and Sam have a free room... you could sleep in there..." said Chad and tried to help Mindy to convince y/n to sleepover. What Tara didn't knew was that Mindy, Chad and even Sam were pretty sure that Tara and Y/n shared some unspoken feelings for each other but things were going so slow between them. So they tried to help.
"The room where your ex roommate lived in? The one who you know? Tried to kill you guys?" Said y/n and laughed slight
"No thanks..."
To everyone's surprise, Tara said quite relaxed "You can sleep in my bed..." all eyes fell at her and Tara seemed to notice why she added in her sentence "I sleep in Quinn's room of course then"
After a short discussion and the persuasion skills of the core 4 Y/n found herself in Tara's room again.
She watches Tara pick clothes to sleep for her.
"You know that you don't have to stay here if you don't want to," said Tara and handed y/n the clothes. Their hands brushed lightly and y/n turned around to put the clothes on. Tara did the same. Both had turned their backs on each other when they put on their pajamas.
"It's okay. For once, I feel really comfortable with someone else. I like to stay," said
y/n after she pulled up her pants. Tara was so surprised by this answer that she turned around and asked "really?"
Y/n laughed and turned around. Both stood in front of each other in only pants and bra.
"Of course..." she said as if it had been obvious. Tara's gaze wandered briefly over y/n free upper body before she looked into her eyes "I also feel comfortable with you".
Now y/n look also wandered over Tara's upper body and it was the first time she got to see the scars other than the one on Tara's hand.
Out of intention y/n stretched out her hand and touched one of Tara's several scars. She had looked at the scar slightly above her hip and stroked it lightly and carefully with her fingertip.
At that moment, Tara's gaze wandered again over y/n upper body. Near her collarbones she got to see a scar and now stroked it slightly herself.
When y/n took Tara's touch, her whole body began to feel like a burning object. Y/n stopped in her own touch, yet her fingertips lay on the slightly raised and lighter area of Tara’s skin.
Slowly she looked back into the dark eyes. So dark that it reminded her of espresso or the night sky that she liked to look at when the full moon was out.
She slowly put her hand around Tara's waist while Tara's slowly wrapped around her neck.
"I also feel safe around you" y/n whispered as she pulled Tara so gently that it almost felt like slow motion. Only now did she realize how big the difference between the two was. Because when their body was only a few centimeters away from each other, she saw Tara look up at her.
"Me too" whispered Tara with a slight smirk while pulling y/n closer by her neck and then y/n began to lean in and closed her eyes. Tara also closed her eyes and began to feel y/n nose brushing slight hers before their lips touched gently. For a few seconds their lips touched before they pulled away to look into each others eyes. Without saying any words their eyes spoke for themselves. Soon they leaned back in and kissed. Kissed each other softly and slowly.
They weren't toxic. They weren't freaks.
They were connected by a dark and suffering past. They were meant to pass each others path so they could care and give eachother the love they needed.
The love of someone who understood.

I don't want to walk anymore alone
Tara Carpenter x Male Reader
Request- Tara Carpenter x male!reader where y/n was stranded on an island for 4 years when he was 12 years old. He had to survive by himself and his parents died. On the island there were mercenaries and y/n had to kill to survive. He came home when he was 16 years old, he came home with scars on his body caused when he was tortured. As well as a bow he used during the island. In the beginning, Tara always kept quiet and never spoke to y/n unless it was necessary.
In the third week of college their professor asked them to do a project in pairs and because they sat next to each other they were paired.
Tumblr media
You couldn't sleep last night and you barely sleep. You sat up on your bed and sighed, then you look at the time.
“It will be a long day” You mumbled.
You have to get ready for class and you take a shower first. After a while of getting ready, you noticed that you have time to get breakfast. You head to a small cafe shop and you are standing in line, thinking about what to buy.
“You are three dollars short,” the worker said.
“Crap, I thought I had enough” She sighed.
You recognized the vote and it's Tara from your class.
“I will pay for it,” You said.
She turns around and she recognized you.
“Oh, hey Y/n. You don't have to pay for it” Tara said.
“I don't mind and you don't have to pay me back,” You said.
“Thank you,” Tara said.
You ordered your coffee and muffin, you paid for everything. You walk out of the cafe shop and you walk to class while drinking your coffee. You sit in class and start to read the chapter and wait for the professor to arrive. Ten minutes later, Tara arrived to class. She sits next to you and you don't say a word. You don't talk to anyone in class and she always sits next to you.
“Hello everyone. I'm going to pair everyone into groups and the grade will be fifty percent toward your final grade. And everyone has to write five pages on the topic. There are no expectations of working alone and the due is three weeks. Tara Carpenter and Y/n will be working together...” The professor said.
Tara looks at you and you don't say a word to her. Class is over and everyone starts to leave and you start to put your books away. Then Tara stands in front of you and you stare at her.
“We should get lunch so we can go over what to do,” Tara said.
“You pick the place,” You said.
You and Tara leave the classroom together. She takes you to a small Italian place and you paid for the food.
“So... I was thinking we write half then we get together and compare notes,” Tara said.
“We should pick the part we would write first,” You said.
“I noticed you don't talk a lot and I never saw you at parties,” Tara said.
“I don't do well at parties,” You said.
You and Tara share food, you mostly listen to her talk. You walk her back to her dorm room and you meet her friends. She noticed you didn't say much, you said bye then walked away.
“Y/n, wait,” Tara said.
“Yes?” You asked.
“Let me get your phone number so we can stay in touch,” Tara said.
“Sure,” You said.
Tara saved your phone number and you did the same. You walk away and head to your dorm room, you changed clothes and start to study. Unexpectedly you get a text from Tara...
Tara- Y/n?
You- yes?
Tara- just making sure you didn't give me a fake phone number
You- I have no reason to lie
Tara- you are something.
You- ok
She didn't text back because she was busy and you didn't text back either. You got tired of studying for long hours and you barely ate, you start to get ready for bed. But it wasn't a peaceful sleep, you have another nightmare. You jumped out of your sleep and you are breathing hard.
----
During class, you and Tara don't talk to each other. Even outside of class, you and Tara barely text each other. But today, you met Tara at the library and start to work on the project.
“Y/n, I'm having a game night at a friend’s place... Maybe you want to come?” Tara said.
“No, thank you. Look, you can write this part but change a few words,” You said.
You give her the book and show her.
“What other part you would write?” Tara asked.
“Why the Roman Empire Collapsed, but I would go into further details,” You said.
“Okay,” Tara said.
You and Tara continued to work together and help each other. You don't talk about yourself and she noticed. After a while, you walk her back to the dorm room. Her dorm room is across campus and it's nighttime.
“Y/n, you don't have to walk me to my dorm room if you don't want to,” Tara said.
“I don't mind. Plus, I heard on the news ghost face is back and I like to walk” You said.
“Thank you,” Tara said.
She is hoping that Ghostface won't hurt you. She goes into her dorm room and you walk to your dorm room.
---
Tara went to meet a friend Mindy.
“I noticed you talking to Y/n,” Mindy said.
“So?” Tara said.
“You don't know, who he is? Tara come on” Mindy said.
“What are you talking about?” Tara asked.
Mindy went on her phone and googled your family. Mindy starts to show Tara, what happened to you many years ago.
“He was on a boat with his parents, but his parents died and nobody knows how exactly they passed away. He was stranded on an Island when he was twelve but he was found until he was sixteen years old. He did interviews but he wouldn't talk about it so much” Mindy said.
“I had no idea, this happened to him,” Tara said.
“Last year, I had a class with him and he didn't speak to anyone. And he doesn't speak about his past or show off. He just goes to class and back to his dorm room. Once I asked him for a pen and gave it to me and that's it” Mindy said.
“He is my partner and we have to write five pages and other stuff. He is nice to me and he only texts me if I have questions on the project” Tara said.
“I'm not surprised. I have never seen another side of him” Mindy said.
“Me too,” Tara said.
✯ ✯ ✯ ✯
You are at Tara’s dorm room studying together.
“Y/n are you free tonight?” Tara asked.
“Yes,” You said.
“Maybe, you would like to come to a party with me?” Tara asked.
“I’m not much of a people person,” You said.
“I know. But maybe, change your routine for a night and you won't be alone, I will be there” Tara said.
“But, other people will be there,” You said.
“Maybe, think about it? I will send you a text later and let me if you will come” Tara smiled.
“Sure,” You said.
You go to know Tara more. You listen to her talk about her favorite movies, but you didn't know any of the movies she was talking about.
“Next time, we will watch the movies together,” Tara said.
“I guess,” You said unsure.
“I know you will like it” Tara smiled.
Later, you leave and Tara is getting ready for the party. She sent you a text and you start to think about what to write back...
Tara- do you want to come to the party with me?
You- ok...? I will go?
Tara - lol. I will take that. I will pick you up in ten minutes.
What I have done, you thought to yourself. You took a quick shower and started to get dressed. Twenty minutes later, you hear a knock at the door and she is smiling at you.
“Ready to go, Y/n?” Tara asked.
“I guess,” You said.
You leave with Tara. She can sense that you are feeling nervous about the party. You and Tara take the train and is packed, and some people have costumes on. Tara noticed Ghostface and she starts to breathe hard and she doesn't want Ghostface to hurt you.
“Tara? Are you okay?” You asked.
She takes out her inhaler and used it.
“I’m... I'm fine, Y/n” Tara said.
She looks around but doesn't see Ghostface anymore.
Once at the party, Tara introduced you to her friends and you don't say anything. You are starting to feel awkward, you walked away and went to get something to drink. You sit on the couch and watch everyone have fun and talk to each other. You don't try to make a friend and you just drink your soda.
Tara noticed you not talking to anyone. She was going to walk toward you but a friend started to speak with her. You get up and head to the door and Tara goes after you.
“Not having fun?” Tara asked.
“No. I feel out of place, but I will wait for you so I can walk you back to your dorm room” You said.
“Y/n, that's so sweet. I don't want to make you wait for me” Tara said.
“I don’t mind. Have fun and I will come later also I saw a pizza shop open” You said.
“You know what, I'm going with you then we can do something else,” Tara said.
“Are you sure? I'm not a fun person” You said.
“Stop doubting yourself and yes I'm sure,” Tara said.
You and Tara left together and walked toward the pizza shop
----
You and Tara have been working hard on the project. You went to her dorm room to study together but you and Tara started to get tired. You end up falling asleep on her bed and she fell asleep next to you. You are having a nightmare, it feels real to you and you're breathing hard. In the dream, you are being chased and you just killed someone.
Tara starts to wake up and she sees that you are having a nightmare. You are mumbling something that she couldn't understand. She starts to shake your arm to wake you up.
“Y/n, wake up. It's only a dream, wake up” Tara said.
You wake up but grabbed her neck, thinking she is the enemy. You feel her fingernails dig deep into your forearm
“Y/n!” Tara yelled.
You snapped out and you noticed what you did. You let go of her and you start to apologize.
“Tara, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you, I am so sorry” You repeated over and over.
You get out of bed, you rushed to put your books away.
“Y/n, wait,” Tara said.
You run out of her dorm room before she got a chance to say something. You are still breathing hard and you went straight to your bedroom. You grabbed the water bottle from the mini fridge, you drink it fast. Your shirt got wet and you are breathing hard.
The next day, you sent a text saying sorry. Everyone on campus is feeling scared because Ghostface killed two people. Ghost face, threaten to kill you and she didn't want that to happen. She starts to keep her distance from you.
Today in class, Tara doesn't sit next to you. For the project, she doesn't answer your texts, and you already finished your part of the project. After class, you follow her
“Tara... Tara we can talk?” You asked.
“Leave me alone!” Tara yelled.
You didn't say anything back and you watched her walk away. Tara is hoping that you don't hate her for yelling at you. You are starting to feel bad for what you did to her.
Tara did keep avoiding you. You are keeping your distance from her and you don't say anything to her when you are in class or in the hallway. But Ghostface has killed more people again and Tara is feeling scared but doesn't show it around her friends.
✯ ✯ ✯ ✯
Tara is walking back to her dorm room from Mindy’s dorm room. She noticed Ghostface walk by fast then she stopped. The lights down the hall went out and Tara is feeling scared. Tara ran towards the exit but Ghostface jumped out of the shadow and grabbed her from behind. Tara screamed then she headbutts Ghostface in the face.
Now Ghostface starts to chase Tara. Ghost Face tackled her to the ground, almost being stabbed in the face. She managed to stop the attack with all her force, she screams for help.
“Fuck you!” Tara yelled.
You left a place where you can practice archery. While walking back to your dorm room, you see Ghostface trying to kill Tara. You rapidly get your bow out and then grabbed the arrow. You hit Ghostface in the shoulder then he falls off Tara. Then Ghostface struggled to get up, you start to walk closer to them.
“Y/n,” Tara said.
The second arrow hit Ghostface in the leg and Ghostface is screaming in pain. Tara is breathing hard and she is having an asthma attack. You had to make a choice go after Ghostface or save Tara. You run towards Tara, then you search through her jacket and take out the inhaler. You put it in her mouth and pressed down then you move it away.
“Ghostface is gone,” You said and you keep looking around.
You help her stand up
“Thank you, Y/n,” Tara said.
“I’m taking you to the hospital,” You said.
“No!” Tara yelled.
“I’m not going to leave you alone,” You said.
“Fine. I will stay with you” Tara said.
“Fine,” You said.
Tara follows you to your dorm room then you locked the door. You and Tara sit together on the bed.
“Why are you out late?” Tara asked.
“I was at a place where I can do archery. Why are you out late?” You said.
“I was with a friend until Ghostface attacked me. I had to keep my distance from you because I didn't want Ghostface to hurt you. I'm sorry, Y/n I didn't want to drag you into my problem” Tara said.
“I understand, what you had to do to survive. What happened that night, I had a nightmare I didn't mean to hurt you. It felt real to me” You said.
“I believe you, Y/n. We both did things we are not proud of, I killed before” Tara said.
“You had to do it to survive, Tara. Same way, when I was on the island, I had to kill so I can live for the next day. We have both been through traumatic moments but we are still here” You said.
“Yeah, but my mine won't leave me alone,” Tara said.
“Are we comparing?” You asked.
“I guess. Our lives will never be the same” Tara said.
“It won't,” You said.
She stares into your eyes, then you felt her lips on yours. You start to kiss her back and she gently put her hand on your neck and she doesn't stop kissing you back.
----
Months later... You and Tara have been dating in secret. Tara doesn't want her sister to find out. You and Tara have been opening up to each other, you told her what really happen on the island and you had to kill people. But Tara didn't judge you or made you feel about your past, and Tara told you everything about Ghostface. You still don't show a lot of emotions and you are somewhat affectionate with your girlfriend.
“Y/n, you shouldn't be ashamed of your scars,” Tara said.
You took off your shirt and you have scars all over your body.
“I feel insecure,” You said.
She put her hand on your chest.
“Babe, don't feel insecure. We both have scars that we wish would go away. But like what you said, we had to survive. I still find you attractive with the scars” Tara said.
You were about to kiss her but someone knocked on the door.
“Tara, open it's me, Sam,” Sam said.
Tara starts to panic.
“Hide!” Tara whispered.
“Where?” You asked.
You were about to go to the bathroom but she said no. But she made you hide under the bed but you forgot your shirt on the bed. Tara opened the door and Sam walked in.
“What’s up?” Tara said.
“I came to check up on you. Is this your shirt?” Sam said.
Sam grabbed the shirt off the bed.
“Yeah, it's my new shirt,” Tara said.
“Well, it's an ugly shirt. Let's go out and eat” Sam said.
“Oh okay, yeah” Tara stuttered.
Sam goes to the bathroom and Tara looks under the bed.
“Sorry, babe. But I will make it up to you, I promise” Tara whispered.
“It’s okay. I will hold that against you and my shirt isn't ugly, my girlfriend bought me that shirt” You whispered
“I have a cute boyfriend. I will text you later” Tara whispered
Sam comes out of the bathroom.
“What are you doing?” Sam asked.
“I-I dropped my phone under the bed, but I got it. Let's go out to eat” Tara said.
“Yeah. But I'm not in the mood for pizza” Sam said.
They leave the room and you heard the door close. You wait a few minutes then get out of under the bed. You put your shirt on and you head back to your dorm room.

you shut your book as lecture was concluded, gathering your notebook and notes together and putting them into your bag. your headphones hung around your neck, and in any other day you would’ve put it on and not said a word to anyone, but you were standing next to tara, waiting patiently for her to pack up.
her hands were shaking slightly as she shoved her items into her backpack hurriedly, occasionally dropping pencils. “fuck,” tara muttered under her breath, quickly picking up her dropped pencils and putting them into her bag haphazardly.
“you seem on edge,” you stated dryly, making her huff in frustration. of course, you knew the reason why; there was no need for her to treat you like a therapist and tell you everything.
“that’s one way to put it.” tara sighed as she threw her backpack over her shoulder. she walked alongside you as you made your way towards the exit. “you don’t usually wait for me,” she stated, glancing at you suspiciously, though you were looking ahead of you and not at her.
“i guess this class is finally teaching you something,” you hummed, looking at her from the corner of your eye. she didn’t seem to let it up, still tensed as you sighed, rolling your eyes. “call it a change of heart.” your response didn’t calm her completely, but her shoulders relaxed.
you both passed your professor, who acknowledged your leave with a small, “miss carpenter, miss vaughn,” which you only nodded at. you walked ahead of tara and held the door open for her.
“did you hear about the murders?” tara asked, tilting her head at you as you began to walk. she was probing at you, you knew that, but you knew better than to admit that ‘no, i’m not worried because i steal things to pay rent rather than kill people and i’d rather pay attention to that,’ so you kept it as honest as you could.
“‘course i did. just because i have no friends doesn’t mean i live under a rock, tara,” you teased with a slight smile, making her roll her eyes. she couldn’t even deny it; she of all people knew you kept to yourself. the only time she ever saw you socializing was at parties, flirting with guys and making them believe they were in charge of the situation before you led them upstairs (when you obviously had them wrapped around your finger).
“well, obviously. it’s just.. everyone seems so on edge, and it makes sense!” tara added hurriedly, “i’m not saying it doesn’t! but you look so..”
“so..?” you raised a brow.
“so calm.” tara let out a long sigh, hands holding onto the straps of her backpack. “i don’t know how you do it.”
was she asking you how to stay calm? you blinked, trying to analyze her words in a way you could understand. was she indirectly asking you for advice? “well, this is kind of an atypical situation to stay calm in,” you began, glancing at her, “but i’d say i’m just too spiteful to let anyone other than me influence how i feel. i’m not gonna let some psycho have so much power over me that i can’t live my life, y’know? i've been stressed out enough."
you looked away from tara, only slightly embarrassed at your own words. this was why you had no friends; too much second hand embarrassment. your eyes settled on the pavement ahead of you, tilting your head in interest at the sight of tara’s friend group; her sister, sam, mindy (who you only knew because you had taken a shot with her once) and some other people you didn’t know.
“you give good advice, y/n.” tara said, making you scoff as you raised a hand and waved her compliment away.
“whatever,” you said, managing a small smile her way. turning back to her friends (who were walking closer) you said a quick, “stay safe, tara,” before you walked away, allowing her friend group to walk up to her.
you passed by a brunette boy as you put your headphones on, not bothering to say hello to tara’s group (they were her friends, not yours). but you were too preoccupied with your music to notice that you had passed ethan, who looked back at you as you walked away. he took in your form, how you dressed in strictly black and white clothes yet had a tote bag with a small cat charm on it. he didn’t even get a good look at you, but he found himself watching you walk away.
“dude.” chad nudged his shoulder, breaking him from his stupor. a knowing grin made its way onto his friend's face, one that made ethan’s ears and cheeks burn red.
“don’t say anything.”
“who is she?” chad asked shamelessly loud, ignoring ethan’s groan of embarrassment. his voice broke the conversation the girls were having, making them lean in out of interest.
“literally no one!” ethan exclaimed, silently begging for chad to not make a big deal out of it. he’s been on his ass for ‘not putting himself out there’ and choosing the library life instead. he always told him off for never truly living a life of someone his age.
if only chad knew that ethan had been craving that feeling of living as though he was his age and not some 30 year old man. but after richie’s death and after he basically (almost) cut off his family (not to mention his secret nighttime job as a superhero), he felt as though that was basically impossible. simply put, ethan landry had more important things to focus on rather than worry about living like a college student.
“not really no one,” tara stated, poking her head into the conversation. “that’s y/n vaughn—”
“another side character. see— probably gonna die,” mindy said to her girlfriend, anika, who sighed as she squeezed her hand reassuringly.
“sure, babes.." anika said, "but maybe don’t assume everyone tara talks to is like, cursed or something?”
“i only ever talk to her during my psych class, so don’t worry,” tara huffed, sitting down at a nearby bench. chad wordlessly sat next to her. “i probably haven’t cursed her. besides, she doesn’t seem like the type to be really bothered by that stuff.”
“what does that mean?” ethan asked, sitting next to chad.
“she’s just really straightforward— the nonchalant type, y’know.”
“even more suspicious!” mindy stood up in front of them as though she was ready to give a presentation; which, honestly, she kind of was. a dark look befell her features as she began to talk about the possible suspects, listing off everyone’s name one by one and including one extra; y/n vaughn.

you polished every one of your retractable claws, pulling your lamp over it to allow it to shine brightly. it was razor sharp at this point, as you had been using everything in your power to make them as dangerous to others as possible. your room was boiling hot, and you had opened up the window of your room, silently thankful you had a balcony and not a fire escape. at least then, no psychos could casually climb up to your apartment.
the photo of you and your father was situated on the corner of your table as you worked; you, age only 8, were wearing huge headphones as you sat on your father’s shoulders at a rock concert. it was one of the few photos you had of your dad, and while you didn’t want to think of yourself as a particularly sentimental person, you were probably just in denial. because even as you worked and only saw it in the corner of your eye, you felt that familiar tug of pain in your chest.
if only he knew that you had a deal with an insect themed superhero.
you checked the clock, letting out a sigh upon seeing ‘11:12 am’ flash back at you. you were already 12 minutes late to your meeting with the hero, and you weren't even dressed yet. the sound of paws hitting your table and a soft coo made you turn your head towards one of your cats, a genuine smile gracing your features.
"how did i get into this situation, bitters?" you sighed, holding your hand up and feeling bitters rub his black fur under it, purring loudly. reluctantly, you stood up and began to get dressed, stripping before pulling on your usual black suit and mask. you reached for your gloves on the table and retracted your claws before reaching for the rest of your equipment; your grappling hook, your throwing knives, and your gun. the murderer (or murderers) were clever, you knew that, and they probably spent months or years preparing for their plan.
you never underestimated someone with a drive to kill.
the night was calm, void of any strong and chilly winds. the moon was still as full as ever, hanging over you like a lamp as you made your way out your window and shot your grappling hook up to the nearby building's ledge. pulling yourself up and over to the next roof, you began to run, allowing the adrenaline to flow smoothly through your veins.
your legs helped you jump over the gaps between the buildings as though it was second nature to you; and in a way, it was. you had been stealing ever since your father died, only taking up bigger projects when you were 16. you knew how to slink your way between alleys and roads, how to travel across streets and cops undetected. you weren't a novice.
the building in front of tara and sam's apartment came into view as you neared. you saw the familiar red and blue hero situated on the rooftop, his back to you as you set your feet down on the floor. immediately, he turned around, as though you had made all the sound in the world. only mildly perturbed, you rolled your eyes. "is that one of your little powers? being able to tell when i'm here?"
standing up to look at you, he crossed his arms over his chest. "you're 30 minutes late," spider-man said annoyedly, making you sigh exaggeratedly, walking towards him. one of your gloved hands came to flick his arm as you passed him.
"you're such a sourpuss. i wasn't aware that you were so strict about our meetings." squatting down to avoid detection, you gazed at the apartment building. he was practically radiating warmth, for as he sat next to you, you felt his warmth going off of him in waves. having powers must've made him similar to a furnace. throwing a quick look at him, you managed a smirk and added, "i didn't know you were so desperate to see me."
he scoffed at your words, shaking his head in disbelief. "jesus, not everything is about you, you know," he grumbled, "i needed you here on time so that we could talk about that information you gave me yesterday."
"right," you drawled, "the shit about the stab masks and the roommates. i was gonna ask one of the mafias i've worked with if they knew anything about that." you had told him what had happened after you had called the police to laura crane's body. you had followed the perpetrator after recognizing his backpack, and found him walking into his dorm room (which was at your college, another detail that truly made you think about whether you should just stop going to classes). he was killed right after you had left him, unwilling to call the police for obvious reasons, but you wanted to keep an eye on him. and while it wasn't your m.o, you might have killed him.
but spider-man didn't know that.
"i don't think there's only one killer. and as it's shown in the past, there's almost always two," spider-man said thoughtfully, eyes focused on the window view the both of you had into tara and sam's kitchen. unbeknownst to you, spider-man was also adamant on watching their apartment for another reason; quinn was in there. ethan wanted to keep an eye on his sister and protect her as much as he could, because he knew that being friends with the woodsboro survivors put her in as much danger as them.
you scoffed. "well, that's obvious. being that codependent on someone else has got to make you a sociopathic murderer. placing that much trust on another that you murder together.. that's collateral damage. they're practically bound for failure."
spider-man sent you a look (or as much of a look as he could with his mask covering his entire face). "i bet you have tons of friends with that mindset, kitty."
you rolled your eyes at his words. "thanks, spider, you're such a wonderful person to be around while we stake out this killer," you said dryly, letting out a huff.
"trust me," spider-man chuckled in disbelief, "the fact that i'm stuck with a criminal with more of an attitude problem than anyone i've ever met doesn't exactly make me thrilled."
you let out a joyless laugh. who was he to even talk to you like that? you weren't going to let some baby-man with powers talk about you as though you were nothing. "you can do this shit alone then, spider." you stood up, making him stand up alongside you. an accusatory finger poked at his chest. "if you can't deal with my attitude—"
"i'm surprised anyone can," spider-man seethed, walking closer to you.
you clenched your jaw, fists clenching as you stopped yourself from throwing a punch. "all that stuff about asking the mafia, you—"
spider-man's head turning to his left as he murmured a small, "shut up." his head turned around him frantically, as though he was suddenly searching for something. he felt that familiar chill run through his entire nervous system, and yet he found himself running a blank. nothing was happening; nothing he could see, at least.
"i won't, actually! you can kiss that plan goodbye if you keep being such a fucking—" spider-man grabbed your arm, his hold not tight, but firm enough to cut your words off.
"something is happening right now. and i don't know what it is." he seemed panicked as he spoke, as though everything was running on overdrive. usually he knew exactly what was happening, but he didn't know what this time. he couldn't see anything huge happening around him, but he knew something was going on. something in the apartment.
you looked at the apartment, squinting when you saw tara and her friends laughing over god knows what. turning back to the hero, you swallowed your pride down for once and forced out a, "take me to where you think it's happening."
a beat. he was studying your face, trying to see if you were serious, if you were actually willing to help him despite your interrupted argument. wordlessly, he put his hand around your waist and pulled you to him, throwing a web towards tara and sam's apartment.
Tumblr media
a scream left mindy's lips when she ran into the bathroom, finding the body of one of quinn's hook-ups in the tub, stabbed repeatedly with his blood splattered all around him. "oh, fuck, that guy's dead!" mindy cried out, gripping her sliced arm tightly before she turned back to the bathroom entrance, screaming at the sight of the murderer right at the door.
they took a step towards her, knife glinting in their hand before you kicked him in the stomach, kicking him against the wall. your clawed hand came down to scratch his chest, your brows furrowing when your hand met a bulletproof vest rather than skin. the murderer swung his knife at you, only slicing the base of your neck as you quickly dodged. you punched their face and kicked them back further against the wall, using one of your knives to stab their chest, only praying it made it past their bulletproof vest. you then ran into the bathroom and shut the door behind you.
"who the fuck are you?!" mindy screamed, taking in your get up and mask, eyes widening in recognition. "you're that criminal—"
"stop talking and get into the room! take this," you put one of your throwing knives in her hand and turned to sam, who was pulling mindy into the bedroom and sending you a confused look. shoving them both into the bathroom, you helped them barricade the door before the killer came close, your back against the door as you kept the dresser against it.
"who is this?!" anika yelled, practically spilling her guts all over the bed.
"maybe don't ask questions while your intestines are threatening to come out!" you yelled, still holding the door shut.
"say something more positive!" anika screamed in response, mindy coming next to her to apply more pressure to her huge wound.
you looked at sam, who was yelling at the neighbor across the alleyway, before she looked up, her face laced with even more confusion. "about time!" she yelled at the hero, who crawled down the wall as he threw a web at the roof's ledge and held onto the other end of it.
"we're gonna get you across!" spider-man said reassuringly, offering a hand out for sam, who immediately took it. he pulled her close as he brought her across and into the other window into the arms of the neighbor before he went to the other window again, peeking in. "oh, hey!" he said lightly, trying not to show his panic.
"hi. can you help?!" mindy asked harshly, helping anika stand up and bringing her to the hero.
"oh, you don't look great!" he shot some webbing into his hand and places anika's hand more into her wound before wrapping her hand and her wound, keeping the pressure. "keep pressing down," he said, carefully putting his arm around her to bring her to the other side. "you doing okay there, kitty?" he asked behind his shoulder at you, making you groan in frustration.
"just fantastic!"
"okay, good!" with that, he swung out the window, anika screaming in her wake. he brought her to the neighbor's window, carefully putting her down before he went back for mindy.
the door behind you suddenly lurched forward, as though the killer had gained twice the strength than they originally had. the sudden strength pushed you far enough away from the door for it to open, the killer quick as they shoved it wider. you hand flew to your gun, ready to shoot despite the vest you knew they were wearing. behind you, mindy was already being brought to the other window, leaving you alone with the killer, who tilted their head at you. they took the knife you had stabbed into them and threw it back at you, making you dodge it quickly, shooting a shot at their leg.
they didn't fall. instead, they swung at you, cutting your side as you moved back. you groaned at the sudden pain, hand coming down to hold it tightly as warm liquid began to seep through your fingers. they managed to cut in the one area that wasn't protected by some of your armor. and while it was only a slice, they cut deep. they were angry; it was evident in their sudden frantic movements. they wanted you dead.
they lunged at you, making you move away from the window and shoot at them again, your shots to their chest doing nothing. "i fucking hate this," you grumbled, putting your gun back into your side before you unsheathed your claws and swung at his dominant arm, scratching it and hearing them groan in pain.
the sound was muffled, but they sounded like a man.
you kicked them, trying to kick them out of the window, only for them to grab the windows edges and lunge at you again, making you move swiftly out of the way and making them hit the dresser harshly.
a thwip sent a web towards their hand, and another sent one to their leg, sticking them there. spider-man swung in next to you, taking in the cut on your neck and the blood dripping from your hand. "you have to get out of here," he stated, grabbing your hand and lifting it to use a web to bandage your wound quickly.
"i'll be fine," you seethed, ignoring the pain, "remove his mask, we need to catch him."
"you're not going to be fine, i'm getting you out of here," his hands came down around your waist despite your protests, your want to remove the killers mask strong as you tried to wriggle your way out. "stop being so fucking stubborn and let me help you!" the hero snapped, already throwing a web out the window and pulling the both of you away from the apartment.
he laid you down on the rooftop of the building, giving you a quick once over before he went back to the apartment, leaving you alone. you hated to admit it, but the amount of blood you were losing from both your wounds was making you dizzy.
spider-man landed back inside the apartment, letting out a groan of frustration at the sight of the cut webs and the lack of a killer. turning to the neighbor's apartment, he swung over, landing in their kitchen casually. "help is on the way. in the meantime stay in here," he looked at all of them strewn throughout the apartment, all sporting some type of wound. the eyes of his mask narrowed when he noticed a few people were missing. tara and chad were gone, but most importantly, quinn was gone too. "was anyone left behind?" he asked sam, trying to keep a relatively calm front.
"tara and chad were locked out, and our roommate, quinn.." sam swallowed thickly, her eyes fogged over as she tried not to think too hard about it.
from beneath the mask, ethan's eyes began to blur over with tears out of worry, the lack of response making him want to shake sam and demand answers. demand where his sister is, cry out that they should've done more, that it was him under the mask, that he needed to know if she made it. "did," he exhaled shakily, makiing sam look at him in interest, "did she die?"
"she didn't make it," sam said with a heavy exhale. "ghostface got to her before we could stop them."
ethan's jaw clenched as his eyes began to well up with more tears that he couldn't wipe away. it felt like sensory overload; he could hear anika's labored breathing and mindy's reassurance from the living room, smell the smell of pennies from everyone's blood, feel every fiber of his suit sticking to his skin. he was suddenly aware of how small the apartment felt, how the ceiling seemed to come closer and closer to his head and how the walls seemed too reachable.
he had to get out.
"thank you. and tell your friend thank you too," sam said, breaking his cloud of sadness briefly.
his friend. you were still up there, bleeding all over the roof.
"i have to go. i'm.. i'm sorry about your roommate." he turned to the others in a silent farewell, before turning back to sam. "we'll be doing patrols around your guys' apartment." and with that, he swung out the window and back to you, pulling his mask over half his face to try and regain his breath.
"he was gone, wasn't he?" you asked, your voice monotone as you sat with your hand over your wound. you looked at him, your eyes unreadable as you took in how stressed he looked. he was drinking in air as though he had been drowning, and if you looked closely, you saw tearstains on his cheeks. his head had fallen back and his face was tilted up to the sky, his chest heaving as he tried to calm himself. rather than question it, you knew it wasn't your place.
ethan, while he wanted to desperately to cry and scream for the death of his sister, only tried to calm himself. he could feel anger thrumming through his veins, and most of all, he felt that same pain he felt when richie died. as though a part of him had died too.
he realized then that the panic he had felt from his senses was most likely the feeling of his older sister dying in the arms of a killer. he felt her attack.
"he was." the hero answered, taking in one more deep breath and exhaling slowly. he turned to you and moved to help you stand up. instinctively, his arm cam around your waist, allowing you to use him like a crutch. "we have to get you help," he murmured, turning towards the direction of the hospital.
"you and i both know that we can't go to the hospital," you muttered, looking at him. his mask was still pulled over half of his face, leaving the upper half of his face a mystery to you. but you could see the lower half, and you stopped the urge to roll your eyes at your conclusion.
of course, new york's spider-man was a pretty boy.
"fine, then. we're going to your place."
yeah, he was pretty. pretty stupid.
"are you serious?" you managed a laugh that quickly died due to the pain that shot up your chest. "no. why can't we go to your place?"
"because my roommate has a room right next to me and the walls are so thin that he can hear everything i do," he responded dryly, looking down at you. "you don't have to remove your mask. i won't do it either, and.. you can put away any photos you have in your apartment. deal?"
you stared at him, weighing the other options in your head before groaning. "fine," you grumbled in annoyance, "but i better not see you making any friendly visits any time soon. i'm not the hospitable type."
"'m not gonna make any visits, kitty. promise."
Tumblr media
spider-man pushed your window open, helping you enter before he closed it shut behind you both. the sound of your two cats, bitters and junie, welcomed you home as per usual, their meows relaxing you as you managed a small smile their way. surprisingly enough, they rubbed themselves on the hero's leg as they made their way towards you.
"very on brand of you to be a cat lady," he hummed, making you send him a look as you reached down to pet them briefly. "am i wrong? you're black cat and you have black cat. and a white one. for all i know you could have more in here."
"do you want to meet my cats or help me stop losing blood?" you asked snarkily, making him turn to you, the eyes of his mask widening.
"oh, right. you're hurt."
"thanks for your concern," you responded dryly, feeling him fix his arm around your waist. "bathroom's down that hall to the left."
your weight seemed like nothing to him as he led you to your bathroom, sitting you down on your closed toilet. he threw open your cupboards, searching for your first aid and finding it. he managed a small triumphant smile as he took it out, closing the cupboard and sitting to your right.
"you know what you're doing, right?" you asked warily, staring at him as he brought out your suture kit. "scandalous," you couldn't help but comment as he pulled his gloves off, making him send you a look.
"stop staring at my hands."
"i'm staring at the needle you're going to stab me repeatedly with, not your hands," you stated, rolling your eyes. "your hands are nice too though, spider." you chuckled at his frustrated sigh, eyes on him as he stood up to wash his hands. "you didn't answer my question."
rushing water filled your ears as he washed his hands diligently. he seemed to be thinking about whether or not he should answer your question, but honestly, you were just trying to make the whole situation less awkward. you couldn't care less whether he had done it before or not; what mattered was that he could suture up your wound.
"i think it was the fifth time i was in a fight?" he began, eyes set on his hands as he dried them off on a nearby towel. "i was still.. new to all of this, i guess. caught this gang ready to beat this poor kid up— he was like, 13 at the most, and they were trying to get back at his older brother. 'course i had to help him." he moved back to your side, sitting down comfortably and taking the suture kit. "i was able to get most of 'em out of the way. but one snuck up on me. my senses made me get out of the way on time, but i got this huge cut on my stomach. another one on my side from his buddy." he carefully cut the webs on your side, looking up at you for permission. "i'm gonna have to cut your suit. may i?"
you nodded quickly. "i have more, just.. keep talking."
"right." he cut the rest of the webbing, including the cloth of your suit, reveling the entirety of your wound. "i spent that night suturing up my own cut with a needle and thread. i can heal pretty quickly but if i were to just bleed everywhere my roommate would notice." he then took a cloth and rubbing alcohol and gently cleaned around your cut. "hurt like a bitch, though."
"well, duh." you watched him pull out all the thread and take the forceps to bring the needle out. he brought it closer to your skin, and you took deep breaths.
"ready?"
"just get it over with." you groaned in pain when the needle entered your skin, the thread pulling through quickly after it. the pain was horrible, but soon enough he was tying the knot and beginning the next one. you were biting down harshly on your lip, trying not to cry out from the pain as you felt the next one enter. your mind was so focused on the needle continuously entering your skin that you didn't even hear spider-man talk to you.
"your apartment is nice," he said softly, only glancing up at you before he focused back on the task at hand. "you must be loaded from all the stealing 'n stuff."
his hands were a bit rough, most likely from training and from superhero duties. but the way he touched you, regardless of how harsh your personality was; it was as though he was scared he'd break you. as though he was watching his strength as he poked the needle through your skin and pulled, careful not to hurt you as much as he already was.
he didn't know why he was being so gentle, why he was watching how he was touching you. maybe he felt guilty for allowing you to be the one to go into the apartment. maybe he wanted to make up for the wounds he felt like he indirectly caused you. ethan didn't know.
"yeah," you forced out through gritted teeth, trying to steady your breathing. he was trying to distract you, trying to keep you talking about whatever he was asking you rather than having you focus solely on the thread moving through your skin.
but unbeknownst to you, ethan was asking you questions not only to distract you, but to distract himself as well. he was still reeling from the death of his sister, but he had compartmentalized it all before he had given himself the chance to fully cope. he hadn't fully cried yet, nor had he given himself time to grieve. he didn't know when he could; it felt like he had no time to grieve for her. "the day we first met, after i caught you—"
"you didn't catch me."
"after i almost caught you while you ran away from the museum," another stab, another stab, another knot. "why did you bring that painting back there? like," his lips twitched downwards, "you didn't even steal anything from the museum, which is weird considering you're a thief and probably a klepto who would love to have a collection of paintings in her really nice apartment—"
"i put it back where it came from." you avoided his gaze as you focused on the bathroom floor as though it was the most interesting thing in the world. "the rich people i stole it from hired some random criminals to steal it first," you explained, "so i just put it back. they don't deserve to keep that piece of art to themselves when the painter made it for everyone to enjoy."
he looked up at you after he finished tying another knot, taking in your features. how you seemed a million miles away despite being right in front of him, and how you had just admitted that one of your crimes had more meaning behind it than just a simple burglary. and you looked.. almost embarrassed to say it. as though you had never admitted it out loud before.
"the people you steal from are usually well off."
you turned your head to look at him, and this time it was his turn to focus on something else. his eyes were set on his stitches. "old money, new money, just people who are incredibly wealthy."
"have you been studying me, spider?" you asked teasingly, making his cheeks (or what you could see of it) burn red.
"no. i mean—" he stammered, groaning when he heard you chuckle softly. "i had to! i mean, i've been trying to keep track of the usual criminals in the city and you were obviously on that list so.. yeah!"
"so you were studying me." you tilted your head with a teasing smile.
"okay! you're done." he put a bandage around the suture to finish it off, throwing away the used needle and thread. he began to clean up quickly, shoving the suture kit into the first aid box. but as his eyes looked back at you, he paused his embarrassed antics. he stared as you stood up, ready to change your clothes, before he stopped you. "wait."
you looked at him in confusion as he took out a bandage and ran a cloth under water. he moved closer to you, and you saw him visibly gulp from where his mask was pulled up. "your neck," he murmured, and you raised a brow, but for once stayed quiet. the warm cloth met the base of your neck, rubbing away the dried blood from the cut that you forget was even there. water dripped down your skin and melted into your suit, but you were too preoccupied with looking at how his tongue poked at his cheek when he was focused.
he wiped away the rest of the blood and used a dry towel to pat it down dry before taking the bandage. his fingernails grazed your skin ever so lightly as he placed the bandage over your cut, his adam's apple bobbing when he saw your eyes set on his face through his peripherals. he could smell your lavender perfume from where he stood, pressing the bandage down into your skin, warming the skin with the heat of his palm. "done," he breathed, eyes looking back at you.
and suddenly, his hands fell at his sides as he focused on cleaning up again.
"what was that?" you couldn't help but ask, but he only shrugged in response.
"don't think about me too much, kitty."
"i should say the same to you," you said blankly, brows furrowing as you watched him clean up as though he hadn't just helped you patch up all your injuries.
you moved past him, making your way into your room and shutting the door behind you. you hid the photo of you and your father under some papers before unzipping your suit and pulling it off of you. the fabric moved over your wound, but you were careful enough that it add onto the pain. you put on a shirt and some shorts before walking out to your living room.
you bit back a comment when you saw the hero sitting criss-crossed on your living room floor with bitters on his lap and your white cat, junie, nudging herself under his hand as she purred. a genuine smile was on his face; he had a habit of pulling his lip under his teeth when he smiled.
"how're you feeling? you asked nonchalantly, making him look up towards you. you felt his eyes on you as you took out two glasses and poured water into both.
"fine, i guess."
"stop lying," you said over your shoulder, taking the two glasses and walking towards him. you held one glass out to him, looking at him pointedly. "i saw you after you went to check on them. something happened."
you were onto him. that was all ethan thought as he took the glass of water from your hand and looked down at your cats. your eyes were practically burning into his head as you waited for him to answer. you thought it was right; you gave him truth, now he should give you some in return. hell, you let him into your home.
taking a deep breath, he calmed down his rapidly beating heart. "i knew one of them, and they didn't make it. that's all." you could see him bite down on his lip as though he was stopping it from quivering, his eyes dead set on your cats despite your eye contact.
you didn't say anything for a minute, letting him relish in the quiet before you began talking again. "we'll find out who attacked them." no 'i'm sorry.' no condolences, because you were someone who hated hearing it from others. especially when your father died; mafia groups sent their condolences, sent their 'i'm sorrys' to the door of your past house as though they hadn't wanted him dead for years. you didn't like hearing it and your didn't like saying it.
the hero nodded, his brows coming down to furrow together. "we will." he stated. you had made a deal with him the night before, but that didn't truly feel like a deal. this one did; it walked a thin line between a deal and a promise.

It felt way too good to be true, to be completely honest.
You were a survivor, a fighter. When the Woodsboro attacks happened again, you were there. You survived. You got stabbed in your back 4 times and it damaged your nerve. You would never walk normally again. But you still survived. Liv and Wes couldn't say the same. And you were so grateful that life, god, fate, whatever you wanna call it, gave you a second chance.
So, like any sane person would, you and your friends decided to leave Woodsboro behind. All of the trauma and the pain should stay right there, where it belonged. You all needed a fresh start. Chad and Tara enrolled into college, Sam finally started therapy and Mindy got a girlfriend, just like you did. You started to work in NYC as a photographer and, surprisingly enough, started dating Sam. Like I've said; way too good to be true.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me." You said while getting up from the couch. A ghostface attack, on an alley. A college professor died brutaly. She was young, so freaking young to just die in the hands of an asshole with a mask on. "Guys, I think y'all need to see this..."
You said, grabbing the attention of the Core Four (horrible name, by the way), making them leave the kitchen and watch the news with you. The room once filled with laughter got quiet all of a sudden. Tara was in the verge of tears, Mindy was shaking. Chad couldn't even speak. But Sam was the only one who took action and said something. "Pack your shit, we're leaving."
Your girlfriend fled the room, going to the kitchen to grab her knife and to start packing up her stuff, but you followed her. "Yeah, no? We can't do that, Sam. We can't just, leave!"
"Like hell we can't." She finally grabbed her knife and went to her bedroom.
"You think we're gonna be safe if we leave? He followed us, Sam! What makes you think he's not going to again?" She didn't even listened to you, just started packing her stuff like you weren't even there. You put both of your hands on the top of the suitcase, preventing her from continuing. "Stop this and listen to me, babe."
"Don't call me that in front of them, (Y/N)." You rolled your eyes.
"Fuck that, no one is fucking here. I already know you're ashamed of me, you don't need to remind me." Sam looked at you, with a tired look on her face. Here we go again, she thought.
"You know that I'm not ashamed of you, (Y/N). It's complicated and you know it." You huffed, closing the door so you both could have some privacy. "Complicated my ass, Samantha. You don't wanna be seen with me and that's fucking fine, I can handle it. What I can't handle is the fact that you don't take my opinion into consideration!" You ran you hands through her hair and took a deep breath. "We cannot just fucking leave here, Sam! Tara has her life here, she wants to be freaking normal and that's not gonna happen if you move us around the country like we're fucking nomads." She tried to speak but of course, you didn't let her. "Plus, we need to know what we're dealing with! Who we're dealing with! They may wanna come after you again, and if they do, they're not gonna just give up. They're gonna follow us if we don't stop them, Sam. You know I'm fucking right."
"I am trying to do what is best for my family, (Y/N). We're going to fucking die if we go through this shit again!" She raised her voice at you. So she wants to fight, huh?
"And I'm not, Sam?! Is that what you fucking mean? That I wanna stay here because I want all of us to die?"
"Tara doesn't fucking need this anymore! Not again! We're leaving New York and that's final!" She started packing her bags again, making you angrier by the minute.
"I'm sorry to say that but that's not how life fucking works! We are a family, Sam! We get to make all of our decisions together!"
"No, (Y/N)! We are not a fucking family! Tara and I are family, you're not. So just stop trying to decide what is best for us and leave us the hell alone!" She screamed loudly, looking at you with rage in her eyes. Hearing all of that shit from her broke your heart into million pieces. She was right, you were not her family. You felt your eyes start to water and it made you laugh, ironically. Sam realised what she just said, and the expression on her face just softened. "(Y/N), I..."
"You're so fucking right, Sam. I'm not your family. You don't even have the guts to tell people we're dating, so I guess you're right." You said, smiling through the pain. "You know what? If you really want to, I'll leave you alone."
You opened the door, grabbing your jacket and keys, getting ready to leave the apartment. Sam didn't even tried to stop you; she just stood there, speechless. All of them heard you fight, but they also didn't said anything, until you were just about to leave. "(Y/N), don't go out. Ghostface is out there, you know it's not safe. He might..." Chad started but you interrupted him.
"Kill me? Yeah, I'm aware. But I just learned today that it wouldn't make a fucking difference if he did." And then you left, going to god knows where.
--
It has been a couple of hours since you fought with Sam. She's been trying to contact you and left, literally, more than 100 messages on your phone, but you didn't replied to any of them. You were too hurt to reply to any of them. You just found a bar downtown and drank the whole night. Thank goodness you didn't got drunk that easily, otherwise you wouldn't even be standing still right now.
"It was hard to find you." You heard someone say behind you, making you turn around. It was Sam. Her eyes looked puffy, like she's been crying for hours, a heartbreaking scene to be honest, but you didn't said anything and took a gulp of your whisky. "I had to track down your phone, like, a million times..."
"Sam, I-" You tried, but she interrupted you immediately. "I just wanna talk, okay?" You huffed and look straight ahead, letting her sit right next to you. "I hate it when you drink."
"Well, I guess we're both disappointed right now." You laughed ironically which made Sam take a deep breath.
"I'm sorry for what I've said. Truly. I was upset, and scared. We all are. Just come back home so we can talk about all of this." She pleaded, holding your hand over the bar table. "And you're absolutely right. I don't need to hide anymore. You make me happy, (Y/N). Happier than I've ever been in so fucking long. I don't need for this, for us, to be a secret. And I'm so sorry for making you feel like I was ashamed of you."
"I know that, don't worry. It's fine." You held her hand and kissed the back of it. "You know that we can't go, Sam. We need to stay here and figure out who is behind all of this." She nodded.
"I know... It just scares the shit out of me. I don't want to go through this again, I don't want Tara to go through this again. I don't want you go through this because of me."
"Stop it, okay? This is not your fault, baby. They're just some psychopaths with a mask on who have nothing better to do." You kissed her hand again. "We're gonna get through this, like we always did. And plus, I wouldn't mind killing another ghostface." You joked, making her smile a little. The most beautiful smile in the world, you dared to say. "Come on, let's go home."
--
"I fucking KNEW IT!" Mindy yelled, pointing at you while laughing a little. "I've always felt some sapphic vibes from you both, damn. The gaydar never fails."
"And why you waited until now to tell us? Especially now, actually, with the whole ghostface shit going on." Tara asked, making Sam look at you then her.
"I don't know. It's just, ever since Richie, it felt weird and stupid to date again. I thought I'd never trust anyone ever again. It felt safe having this little secret, for some reason. And I'm sorry from keeping this from you, really." She said, while holding your hand. It felt good to finally reveal the secret. You guys could, actually, hold hands in public. And kiss, and call each other pet names. It felt really freaking good.
You guys stayed up all night talking and drinking, the six of you. Anika got really close with you guys so she felt like family at that moment. It made you guys forget for a few hours about anything that was going on, especially ghostface.
After a while, Chad, Anika and Mindy decided to leave. It was getting pretty late and they didn't wanted to walk around the city late at night out of fear. Tara decided to study a little bit, and your roommate Quinn was at some hookup's house being sex positive, or whatever that means.
"Did you do it for me?" You asked, while looking at Sam. She was changing into some more comfortable clothes while you were laying down in your bed. It felt nice to finally share a room with her instead of Tara, to be honest. "Did what, babe?"
"Told them. If you really wanted to be a secret, still, I could handle it..." She smiled at you and walked towards you, laying down on top of your body.
"I wanted to tell them, babe. Seriously. It feels nice to finally be out there, too. I didn't wanted you to think that I did it because of our fight, or ghostface, or anything. I did it because I love you, (Y/N). You're my girl. I want everybody to know that." She whispered the last part, getting closer and closer to your face while she talked. You could feel her hot breath against your skin, and her mouth looked incredibly kissable at that moment.
"Don't do that." You mumbled, looking at her eyes. "Do what?"
"This. It makes me... feel things." You always felt so shy in front of Sam. She had this whole protective aura around her, that it made you actually want to be protected by her. It turned you on, even. "Feel what, babe?"
"You know what I'm talking about, Sam..." You diverged you look to the wall, but she held you chin between her index and thumb, making you forcibly look at her. Her eyes were darker now, filled with something that you knew exactly what it was.
"It turns you on, huh? When I call you mine?" She got closer, if that was possible, making your lips rub against each other. Her free hand made its way to your stomach, then your thighs, and your legs. Without ceremony, her hand got into your pants, fitting like it really belonged there. You were already embarrassingly wet by now, which made Sam smile a little. "Oh, you're already like this, babe? I didn't do anything, yet."
"You know you don't need to do nothing, Sam..." You swallowed, closing your eyes. You were completely at her mercy and she knew it, and knowing her, she would take advantage of that pretty soon.
Sam started to make circular movements on you clit, over your soaked panties. It made you shiver and tremble under her body, which made her laugh slightly. The way you were moaning softly to not starle Tara in the other room was heavenly, she loved being the one making you moan like this. "Sam..."
"Hm?" She replied, innocently. "M-More..."
She promptly obeyed, entering your panties and sliding one digit into you, making you gasp and arch you back. You were holding back your moans like crazy but let one slip. "Shhh... Tara is right in the other room; we don't want her to hear that, hm?"
You shook your head no, looking at her. Her eyes were filled with lust and desire; you could almost feel how much she wanted you right now. She started to pump her finger inside of you, starting slowly; then increasing the pace gradually. "Fuck, Sam..."
"You feel so good around my fingers, baby. So fucking tight... " She said while kissing your neck, leaving some love bites all over your skin. "You're fucking made for me, and only me."
"Only you..." You admited, without even thinking straight. She made you feel at cloud nine, all of the pleasure was something that only she made you feel. She added another finger, thrusting them inside of you deeper by the minute. You were spending all of your energy in holding back your moans, and you would hate if Tara walked in on both of you. Sam felt your pussy tighten around her fingers, making her smile slyly. "Come on, baby... Cum for me."
That was everything you needed to hear to finally release on her fingers, with a loud moan that you couldn't supress this time. Sam rode your orgasm perfectly, putting her own fingers into her mouth when you were done. "Delicious."
"You're unbelievable, Sam." You tried to say, out of breath. She held your chin and kissed you slowly, lovingly. "And you love it."
Before you could say anything, you heard some knocks on the wall next to you. "There are people trying to study here! Go be all porn-huby somewhere else!" Tara yelled, making you widen your eyes and blush. "I'll never leave this room again, Sam."

“So I take it you didn’t enjoy the movie?” you said as you and Tara walked out of class on Monday.
“God, no,” she replied, making a disgusted face. You laughed. “Why, couldn’t you tell?”
“I had a hunch when you only added to the discussion two minutes before class ended. And you just reiterated what I had just said.”
“Yeah, because that was the first time you didn’t talk for five minutes straight!” she exclaimed, nudging you. You grinned. “Seriously, you talked more than Professor Johnson did. And your eyes were sparkling the whole time like it was the most interesting topic in the world!”
“Sparkling, huh?” you smirked, raising an eyebrow at her. She just shoved you again.
“Yes! I don’t understand it! How can you get so much joy out of such a boring movie?”
You shrugged your shoulders dramatically. “Well…”
“No,” she commanded, pointing a scolding finger in your face. “I cannot stand hearing you talk about that movie anymore. Or any old movie for that matter. I forbid it.”
“Okay, fine, we’ll talk about something else,” you chuckled. “Why don’t you go on and on about something then?”
“Like what?”
“Those elevated horror movies you were texting me about all weekend,” you suggested. Tara’s eyes lit up.
“I wasn’t annoying you with all those texts, was I?”
“No, of course not.” You shook your head, trying to get rid of the blush you felt creeping up your neck as you thought of how you’d waited with bated breath for her next message. You’d nearly screamed with excitement when she’d sent I’m so proud of you! after you’d told her you’d seen all of Jordan Peele’s films. “I like hearing you talk about horror movies.”
Tara beamed, and you couldn’t help but smile at her. “Okay, which movie did you end up watching?”
“I watched two, actually. The Witch and Midsommar.”
“And what did you think?”
“They were great! Especially Midsommar. The cinematography and special effects really enhanced the growing sense of dread throughout the movie.”
“Oh my god, I know! Ari Aster is, like, one of my favorite directors ever, his work is so innovative” she babbled. “What about The Witch?”
“I loved how they used the Puritan setting to convey the theme, but if I’m honest, I thought it dragged a bit in the middle.”
Tara stared at you in disbelief. “Oh, I know you didn’t just call one of my favorite movies boring.”
“I didn’t say that!” you insisted, throwing up your hands in surrender. Then you grinned mischievously. “I just think it’s a little surprising you didn’t like Metropolis.”
She stopped walking and crossed her arms childishly. “I don’t even want to talk to you,” she scoffed, turning up her nose. “That’s the most insulting thing anyone’s ever said to me.”
“Oh, c’mon,” you said, rolling your eyes. “That can’t be true.”
Tara gasped.
“I’m kidding! I’m kidding,” you chuckled. She glared at you, and you smiled at her softly. “Tell me about The Witch.”
She pretended to be angry for another moment before dropping her arms back to her sides. “Fine,” she huffed, trying to hide her grin. “But you’re still an asshole.”
“It takes one to know one, Coffee Girl. Remember, you insulted one of my favorite movies first.”
Tara ignored you and launched into her spiel about why The Witch was so brilliant. She explained the origins of the folklore and the texts that Robert Eggers referenced when writing it, and she had a lot of thoughts about Thomasin’s strained relationships with her family members. You couldn’t imagine your eyes had ever sparkled half as much as hers did now. She made you want to watch the boring movie again if only to keep that beautiful smile on her face.
“If that’s what I sounded like in class, then I’m sorry,” you joked when you reached the crosswalk. She slapped your arm, her nose scrunching adorably as she snickered. “I wish I could hear more of your riveting analysis, but this looks like the end of the road.”
“Actually, I was going to go to the campus cafe and get some coffee,” she said, dipping her head and glancing up at you hopefully. Her cheeks flushed. “Do you want to come with me?”
“Yeah, that sounds great,” you grinned. “I’ve been looking for an excuse to get some caffeine in me.”
“Okay, let’s go.” She turned toward the cafe and you followed eagerly. “So as I was saying, I find Thomasin’s relationship with her mother to be the most compelling dynamic in the movie,” she continued without missing a beat. You just nodded.
You arrived at the cafe and ordered your drinks, smiling awkwardly at each other as you sat at a small table by the window. You took a sip and your eyes widened in surprise. “Damn, this is good!”
Tara giggled. “Have you not been here before?”
“No, I’ve been meaning to check it out, but I haven’t got around to it. So, thanks.”
“Anytime.”
“Now, I know why you love The Witch, but I don’t know much about you,” you said after a moment. “What are you into besides elevated horror? What’s something I need to know about Tara Carpenter?”
Something flashed in Tara’s eyes, but it disappeared before you could identify it. She shifted uncomfortably, gripping her coffee cup, and you noticed the scar on the back of her left hand. “Oh, I… I’ve been talking for a while. Why don’t you tell me something about you? Tell me about your tattoos!”
She gestured to your arms as she took a big gulp of her coffee, and you smiled sheepishly. “Well, this one is a reference to my favorite TV show,” you said, leaning forward and pointing to the design on your right bicep. Then you pointed to the tattoo opposite it on your left arm. “That one is a reference to my favorite band. And this one’s a reference to my favorite book.” You held out your right arm to show off the intricate design on your wrist. “They’re all things that mean a lot to me. In one way or another, they’ve kind of changed my life,” you explained. Tara smiled. Then you pointed to the bats on your left forearm. “And this one’s just because I think bats are really cool.”
Tara chuckled. “They’re really pretty.”
“Thanks.”
“How long have you had them?”
“Well, I got this one back home in Kansas on my eighteenth birthday,” you said, pointing to the one on your wrist. “And I got the other ones here over the summer.”
“I wonder if you bumped into my friend Chad, he got some here over the summer too,” she said. “I figured most other out-of-state students moved in at the start of the school year.”
“Yeah, well… I guess I just needed a change of scenery,” you replied, rubbing the back of your neck.
“I get that. It’s why we moved during the summer, too.”
“We?”
“My friends go to Blackmore too, so we moved at the same time. And my older sister kind of followed me here.”
“You must be close if you let her do that,” you commented.
Tara stared into her coffee with a small smile. “Yeah, I guess we are.”
“So, is there anything else you want to know about me?” you asked her. She thought for a moment.
“What kind of stuff do you write?”
“Oh, I hope you’re ready for me to ramble at you again,” you grinned. “I’ve written some sci-fi and fantasy stories and a couple of short films, but right now I’m working on a horror story.”
“Ooh, tell me about it!” Tara said, leaning forward excitedly. You did the same, and as you began to describe your passion project, her eyes sparkled almost as much as yours did.
You couldn’t help grinning all the way home. Tara had loved the idea of your horror story, and after making her beg you to let her read it, she had loved the first few scenes even more. Then when you had refused to tell her how it ended, she had thrown napkins at you until a server came over and told her to stop. Her brazen insistence that the server was in the wrong made you forget all about being embarrassed, and you talked for another hour after that. The conversation spanned a wide range of topics, and even though she hadn’t told you much about her past, you felt like you knew Tara pretty well now. Every moment you spent with her made you like her even more, which was why you decided to be bold the next time you saw her.
“Ugh, how many stupid silent films are we going to watch?!” Tara exclaimed as she slung her backpack over one arm, her eyes daring you to challenge her. You chuckled.
“For once, I agree with you. Even I think The Passion of Joan of Arc is boring,” you smiled.
“Finally! God, I was wondering when you would start making sense.”
“But Professor Johnson’s not wrong though. It has some great close-up shots and really interesting set designs,” you continued. Tara groaned.
“Why can’t you just hate the same things as me?”
“Because I have better taste than you,” you said, your smirk growing wider as she pouted back. “If you’re free this weekend, you should come over to my apartment and we can watch it together. It might make it a little more bearable.”
Her expression darkened, and she drifted to the edge of the sidewalk. Away from you. “Sorry, but I can’t- I’m busy this weekend. I can’t… go to your place.”
She avoided your eyes, and you felt a cold dread seep into your chest. Was that too forward? You thought you were friends by now. But of course, you had to go and ruin it. You stumbled over your words, rushing to apologize before she could tell you she never wanted to speak to you again.
“Oh, yeah, no, of course! It’s totally fine, I get it. I’m sorry, I- I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. I just thought- never mind. I’m sorry.” Your entire face felt hot, and you could’ve sworn she could hear your heart pounding in your chest. She looked at you, her expression probing, and you felt small under her gaze. Then she smiled shyly.
“How about after class on Friday,” she suggested. “If you reserve one of the study rooms in the library, I’m there.”
“Sounds good,” you grinned, heaving a sigh of relief. “Yeah, you got it. I can’t wait.”
“Me neither,” she said. She nudged you playfully. “I never realized how awkward you are.”
“I’m just a treasure trove of new information, aren’t I?”
Tara giggled. “Yeah, and you’re going to use all that information to help me pass this class.”
“Ah, that’s the real reason you hang out with me. You’re using me for my intelligence.”
“Oh, for sure,” she grinned. “No other reason.”
“Understood,” you said, nodding as you approached the crosswalk. “It’s good to know where I stand.”
“Alright, I’ll see you in class, Y/N,” Tara smiled. “And I’m going to hold you to what you said about making Joan of Arc less boring.”
“I’ll do my best,” you promised. “See you later, Tara.”
You fiddled with the drawstring on your hoodie as you walked to the library on Friday. Tara followed as you led her to the study room you’d reserved, the large oak tree outside the window blocking the sunlight and making it feel like a little movie theater. You had spent an hour scouting all the rooms to make sure you got the best one. Not that you would ever tell her that.
“Have a seat,” you said, gesturing to the plush chairs spread out in crude rows across the room as you pulled down the projection screen. You’d also made sure you had the room with the best furniture. “I just need to connect my laptop, and then we can start the movie.”
“How long is it again?”
“About two hours.”
Tara threw her head back against the chair, her eyes screwed shut in a pained expression. “Your job today is to convince me not to drop this class.”
“What, is getting to hang out with me not enough for you?” you smirked. She rolled her eyes. “Aren’t you the one who chose to be a film major?”
“Yeah, but I want to learn how to make movies now, not watch films from a hundred years ago!”
It was your turn to roll your eyes. “Okay, I’ll do my best to convince you. Do you remember what we’re supposed to be paying attention to?”
“Yes,” Tara replied. “But I think you should say it anyway. So I’ll know if you remember or not.”
You smiled in spite of yourself. “The use of close-ups and the things that are off-kilter in the mise en scène.”
“Yeah, good job! You got it right,” she grinned.
“You’re a piece of work, you know that?” you said as you started the movie.
“Yeah, but you like me anyway.”
You didn’t respond as you settled into the chair next to her, feeling self-conscious under her mischievous gaze. “Watch the movie,” you said softly, and you heard her chuckle.
You did watch the movie, at least for a while. Then, as you neared the forty-five-minute mark, Tara’s fidgeting became unbearable. You raised an eyebrow at her as she crossed and uncrossed her legs for the hundredth time, an affectionate smile painting your face. “Do you want to watch it at double speed?”
“Oh, thank god. Yes, please,” she said, heaving a sigh of relief. “Seriously, I don’t know how you can watch this. It’s torture.”
“I never said I liked every silent film,” you replied, getting up to speed up the movie. As you sat back down, you noticed that Tara was shivering. You took off your hoodie and handed it to her with a smile.
“Are you sure?” she asked, glancing from you to the hoodie and back again.
“Yeah, take it. The library is always freezing, and I run hot anyway.”
“Thanks.” She took the hoodie from you, and you realized she had a scar on the palm of her left hand. You couldn’t quite tell, but it looked like it was almost parallel to the one on the back of her hand. But before you could decide if it would be too insensitive to ask about, you saw her poking curiously at the snake embroidered on your favorite hoodie. She looked more adorable than you could’ve imagined, and you weren’t sure how you’d ever tear your eyes away.
Luckily, your hoodie seemed to have placated Tara, and she sat still for the rest of the film. Whether she actually paid attention remained to be seen, but as long as she wasn’t complaining you considered it a win.
“Thank god,” Tara professed when it finally ended. “That was the most boring movie I’ve ever seen.”
You smiled at her. “Now we just need to finish the assignment, and then we never have to talk about it again.”
“I hate you.”
“Uh-huh.” You nodded, opening a new Word document. “What did you notice?”
“Professor Johnson was right. There were a lot of close-up shots.”
“Yes, but what purpose did they serve?”
“I don’t know, making me uncomfortable? Why can’t you just give me the answers, I thought that was the whole point of watching it together.”
You shook your head. “I said I’d help you, not do it for you. The point is for us to collaborate.”
“My fist will collaborate with your face,” she grumbled.
“What?”
“Nothing!” she said, smiling up at you innocently.
“Why did they make you uncomfortable?” you prompted, choosing to ignore her.
“The angles were weird and the shots were so long. It felt like I was stuck in her head- oh.”
“There you go!” you cheered. “Now do you get why we had to watch this movie?”
“It’s still a terrible movie,” she insisted, but she couldn’t keep the shy smile off her face. “But maybe that was a really cool effect. And maybe I kinda, sorta, almost, just a little bit liked it a lot.”
You beamed. “I’m so proud of you!”
“Shut up,” she mumbled, blushing.
It didn’t take you too long to finish the assignment. And if you let her write down some of your thoughts, well, nobody needed to know. She put away her laptop and stood up, preparing to leave.
“Wait,” you said, holding up a hand to stop her. “Do you have anywhere to be right now?”
“No, why?”
“Well, if you want, the room is still reserved for a couple more hours. I figured we could watch a horror movie or something, to cleanse our palates.”
“Yeah, that sounds great!” she smiled. “Good job, Burgers. Maybe this is why I keep this class.”
“Happy to be of service,” you joked. “I’m glad you don’t have plans. I mean, I still would’ve enjoyed watching a movie without my roommate barging in and interrupting, but I’d rather watch something with you.”
“So, what do you want to watch?”
“You’re the horror movie expert, right? You choose.”
She tapped her finger against her chin. “Hereditary. It’s Ari Aster’s first film, I think you’ll love it.”
“Aye aye, captain,” you smirked, saluting her. You started the movie and sat back in your chair, and Tara laid her head on your shoulder.
You knew anything would seem exciting after watching The Passion of Joan of Arc, so you happily settled in for another slow-burn elevated horror movie. And it lived up to your expectations for a while. But then you felt Tara tense, hiding her eyes in the crook of your neck, and then-
“Holy fucking shit!”
It quickly became your favorite scary movie.
