You can't quote the "God made me transsexual" quote from Julian K. Jarboe and then in the next breath be antisemitic. That quote comes from the teachings of Rabbi Akiva, it's a *Jewish* quote, and the way it's thoughtlessly parroted by antisemitic queer goyim is yet another example of how the modern queer movement benefits from Jewish activism and voices and teachings while simultaneously excluding and demonizing us. You can't have it both ways. You can't use Judaism for your own self-validation while not cherishing Jews.

I had an amazing time at the drag Purimspiel I went to last night. There was something so comforting about being in a room full of queer Jews. Screaming, cheering, booing, and laughing. Like the host said at the beginning of the show “this a night celebrating Jewish joy. Especially queer Jewish joy. There aren’t many spaces like this one, so I’m so happy you all are here.”

I was discussing it with a friend from my conversion class afterwards who was also there and he just said “it felt safe” and yeah. It felt so safe.

It’s almost Purim, so it’s time to share this 1845 article about two Jewish drag kings/crossdressers/trans men. I love these two and I want to be their best friend.

I have no idea why Purim is referred to as the ‘Ram’s Head Festival’; it’s not named but I’m 99% sure this is about Purim based on the date and the description (the masks, and the long-established tradition of crossdressing on Purim). Maybe they got it confused with Rosh Hashanah and it’s an oblique reference to a shofar?

Absolutely incredible use of the passive voice: ‘During their scuffle with the policemen, the fair daughters of Israel were relieved of their gold bracelets and several articles of rich jewellery.’ Relieved by whom? Who can say? I’m very proud of these funky fresh boys for beating the shit out of at least one cop.
