Yes, Republic is flawed, yes it's horrible a planet is controlled by gangsters. But membership in the Republic is completely voluntary. To act against rulers of another planet is an act of war. To absorb a planet without it willingly applying is not what freedom and democracy stand for.

Tatooine is messed up because of the Hutts, not because of the Republic or the Jedi.

I’ve been reading a lot of Star Wars Novels lately but one of Rael Aveross’ lines in Master and Apprentice really stood out to me

‘We don’t choose the light because we want to win… We choose it because it is the light’

To me it very well puts together the fight of the Jedi in the Clone Wars and later, the remaining Jedi’s battle against the Empire. They could of very well of given up but they chose to keep fighting on the side of good not because they knew it was the winning side, but because it was good because it was filled with light.

It’s Rael restating Qui-Gon Jinn’s line from earlier in the novel but I prefer the more simple way Rael phrases it.

In Jedi Palpatine aus it’s always a what if Yoda was Sheev’s master or what if Dooku was his master but I have a funnier suggestion.

I don’t know if his age was brought down in the new canon but Quigon was about ten years older than Sheev Palpatine. Which I’m pretty sure is a larger difference than Ahsoka and Anakin so Palpatine could definitely be Quigon’s padawan.

I think this would create a dynamic so terrible. Unless Quigon can mellow him out which I don’t think so.

Had to share this passing thought bear with me.

Qui-Gon lives au he's a General in the clone wars which Clone would be his Commander?

Obviously Fox. Obi-Wan has his own army to deal with they need someone else to do Qui-Gon's paperwork and rein in impulsive need to follow the Force's will which works well when you're in a small group but not when you're leading an army.

Fox benefits in that this is actually excellent enrichment for him and Qui-Gon will let him use his name and forge his signature as he sees fit.

This all is the worst case scenario for Quinlan Vos who now has to do the walk of shame in front of Qui-Gon Jinn for the second time in his life.
