Sanremo 2024 - the post!

Hello everyone! Here you’ll find this year’s Sanremo’s stuff and news (I’ll be uploading this post through all the week). The Festival will start on Tuesday February 6th at 8:30 pm (it’ll probably have a 5 minutes “anteprima = preview” every night), and end on Saturday February 10th, when the final will be broadcasted.

Also this year we’ll have the PrimaFestival, the small show broadcasted on Rai1 at around 8:30 p.m. (February 4th - February 10th). The hosts are Paola & Chiara (singers), Mattia Stanga and Daniele Cabras (tiktokers).

There's gonna be some kind of Dopofestival, with Fiorello and Alessia Marcuzzi (tv/radio host) called “Viva Rai2!… Viva Sanremo” (jingle/sigla) right after the end of each Sanremo's night (6th-9th Feb.). Gli Autogol (comedians soccer-related) will complete some missions for Amadeus on Raiplay.

CasaSanremo- A website about Sanremo and all the artists who will take part, with more infos and interviews (also Italian places and food specialties will be shown). Follow them also on their Social Media Channels, usually they make live video/interviews/shows on FB for example.

To watch it live:

Raiuno -> just click on the first video on the left, or here, to open the Raiuno streaming immediately (I added the whole Rai channels things in case you had troubles connecting directly and wanted to try from there). The RAI’s geoblock is usually removed for Sanremo’s week, no need to create accounts or whatsoever to enjoy Sanremo online!! Remember you can rewatch the whole event and each performance on Raiplay few minutes after it has happened (and the whole week will be avaiable as well for basically the whole following year).

FANTASANREMO - this year as well you can play while enjoying your Sanremo! How does it work? Every person “buys” 5 artisti and marks one of them as a captain. As in the last years, artists will have to do or say something while on stage to help you gain points (and also classification will have a say).

Hosts & Guests + Other Stuff

This years’ host will still be Amadeus (who choose the songs taking part into this Sanremo), a TV and radio host. He will be accompanied by a different co-host each night: Marco Mengoni (singer; first night); Giorgia (singer; second night); Teresa Mannino (actress, comedian; third night); Lorella Cuccarini (actress, tv host, dancer, dance teacher in AMICI tv show; fourth night); Fiorello (tv and radio host, comedian, singer; last night).

Some of the one-night guests during the week will be: John Travolta (actor, dancer); Giovanni Allevi (musician); Marco Mengoni (singer); Sabrina Ferilli (actress); Giorgia (singer) will celebrate her song "E poi"'s 30th anniversary; Russel Crowe (actor, singer); Eros Ramazzotti (singer) will celebrate his song "Una terra promessa"'s 40th anniversary; Roberto Bolle (dancer); the cast of "Mameli" (new serie about the guy who wrote our National anthem); Leo Gassman (actor, singer); the cast of "Il Mare fuori" (Raiplay serie); The Nuova Orchestra Santa Balera to celebrate "Romagna Mia"'s 70th anniversary; Gigliola Cinquetti (singer) will celebrate her song "Non ho l'età"'s 60th anniversary.

How it works

There will be 30 singers in the ARTISTI (artists) section. It will be the only section, as last year. 27 artists were chosen by Amadeus, while the other 3 are the winners of Sanremo Giovani (held in December 2023). The winner of the competition will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest: if he/she/they won’t accept, the choice will be another artist, usually the 2nd classified or the next (the first one accepting). This year we're gonna listen to all the 30 songs on the first night. The 2nd and 3rd night, we'll get to listen to 15 songs each night. The artisti that are not performing during the 2nd night will introduce the performing ones and vice versa on the 3rd night. The artisti introducing the performing artisti will be decided by a public draw during the Sanremo's press conferences on the 2nd and 3rd day. On the 4th night, there will be the usual “covers” night: the artisti this year can choose any song, national or international, from any year (until December 2023) and by anyone (even themselves).

Do you think the levihan fandom will die out now that the anime is over???

Hi nonny! I don't think so. At least not wholly.

The western fandom's quieted down but the eastern fandom is still appears to be going strong! If there's one reason to join Twitter it's to follow artists that aren't anywhere else, and it's worth it to keep the love flowing.

There's been drops in activity, and I think the reason is a multi-faceted one. Yes the series ended, but for a show of SNK's caliber, that didn't used to matter. I've commented on this before–and at the risk of sounding like a boomer– I blame binge culture, and more specifically, Tiktok, for playing a big role in how quickly fandoms die.

Even 5, 6 years ago, it didn't matter if a show was over; people kept the party going. A piece of official art or a merch drop kept a fandom fed for months. Now you're lucky for the hype to last a week. FmaB ended in 2010 and it was still hopping three years later when I joined in 2013. It took another four years for it to start quieting down and hell it wouldn't surprise me if it was still going. But now there's been this shift in mentality, and attention spans are shorter and sure we all joke about it but it's a real issue and you see it happen at an accelerating rate. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your interests changing, but I see over and over (at least on the artist side) creators only making stuff for fandoms if it can be profitable to them, and the second it's not they move on to the next big thing as a way to ride the hype and beat the algorithm instead of loving the thing for what it is. And I get it, it's how many make a living so they gotta do what they gotta do. It just unfortunately perpetuates this cycle of fandoms being trends rather than communities.

I will say SNK and Levihan kinda got uniquely screwed though. Due to the last season's (understandable) release schedule and the way it was marketed a lot of people kinda unfairly tuned it out. Add on to that how Levi and Hange's scenes were handled and the fandom didn't get as big a boost as it should have.

But for me, it doesn't really matter how many people are still in the fandom. If Levihan is what I feel like drawing then that's what I'll do :3 Presonally, art is too hard and too time-consuming to spend making something I don't want to. At the end of the day, it only dies if we let it. Which would be a pity because there's still the blu-ray, Shigeki Fly, and Bad Boy to look forward to! 🥳

The first time Wooyoung 'met' you, was through his For You Page on TikTok.

He had his own private account for quite some time, watching mainly various dance trends, various food creators and cooking tips, in preparation for this Korean Chef certification.

Yes it was not actually practice or real revision, and probably way out of what he was supposed to be looking into, but scrolling through the specially curated videos was way more... addictive.

And during one such scrolling session, whilst sitting in a styling chair before a fansign event, he stumbled across one of your videos. Better yet, this particular video did not even feature your face, only your hands moving ingredients.

And your mellifluous voice, sweeter than the strawberry shortcake you were making.

As Wooyoung raised the phone to his ear to catch the audio better, he was taken aback when he heard a quiet, lofi version of one of his group's songs serving as background music to you.

NOW you were DEFINITELY on his radar. Bringing his phone almost to his nose, he clicked onto your account. You were full of surprises - you had a very large following, and an extensive selection of videos, with some of them definitely having gone viral.

There were baking videos, coffee-making content... there were some tours of a cafe... then another... And after looking through a little further, he stumbled upon a video of... you.

You, beaming into the camera as you were making an announcement about a new cafe of yours opening. Clicking away, he checked for any descriptions, and sure enough, he found a link to an about you page, that turned out to be an official site for your cafe chain, "dream-ity", now in five locations, with five locations around the Seoul National Capital Area.

If he had to choose a word to describe how he saw you from first impression, it would probably be 'soft'. A walking ray of sunshine as a person.

He went back to the video announcement, rewatching it. As he was drifting off into dreamland, barely controlling his heart eyes, his stylist peeked at the screen, nodding as she recognised the person on the screen.

"Oh you are watching Y/N?"

"Yes! Just found her, actually, do you know her?"

"Oh yeah! She is super famous on TikTok actually, and recently started a YouTube channel with more vlog-style content. If you are into... it, I highly recommend." she explained with a wink, giving a lock of Wooyoung's hair one final spray before tapping his shoulders to announce that she was done.

"Okay, thank you~" he sing-songed, hopping from his chair, spinning around to take a look at the word completed once more.

He returned to his screen, and smiled at himself, making a note to look you up later. As Wooyoung was called up to make final preparations for the signing, he tapped follow on your account, and liked the announcement video.

The second time he 'met' you, was when he had finally gotten the chance to simply laze on the couch at the dorms, laptop on his stomach, chin pressed flat against his chest.

He was feeling the need for some comfort, and remembered the suggestion of his stylist to find you on YouTube. Just searching up 'dream-ity' was enough. And there it was. Your channel. Your videos. You. A lot of you. Smiling, baking, focused as you did the perfect matcha pour to complete a latte, paired with an elegant matcha crepe cake.

Your concentrated face instantly became Wooyoung's favourite, his heart melting as you piped the most intricate flowers onto a layered cake.

He caught himself. Caught the woah. Since when was he, the master of sexy performance, so SOFT?

He decided to take a step back for a bit. Convince himself that it was just another creator, just another person out there doing their thing and-

Oh no you were good. You were really good at what you did. So good in fact, that you were a certified patisserie chef who had competed, and WON trophies before. All that, and you appeared to be humbleness itself.

Just out there, in your cafe(s), having the time of your life explaining step by step how to get puff pastry just right. Quoting 'The Great British Bake Off' was one of your favourite things apparently, so naturally Wooyoung noted that down on his phone. As one totally did if they were just 'admiring skill'.

On hour two of watching your content, he started picking up on your micro habits.

The way in which you brushed your hair out of your face with your lower arm, wrist bent ever so slightly so as to not get flour on your face.

How you bit your lip just a little as you were balancing a loaded tray of goodies while taking them to bake in the oven.

How your eyes practically shined as you delved into the history of a given dessert or bake or literally anything. Like in one of your non-baking videos, you were happily babbling away about various aesthetically pleasing cafes you visited while on holiday in Busan.

Wooyoung was on a train to paradise when a wild San appeared and got him in a headlock. Letting out a high-pitched yelp he slammed the laptop shut and attempted to fight his friend off, failing miserably.

"Oooooooh, Woo, so naughty, are you watching porn in the dorms? In broad daylight?"

"No what the hell San, I have enough of you walking around the dorms naked."

"So now I am your wet dream material?"

"Yes baby, now come and give us a kiss~" Wooyoung pouted and finally was able to scare San off as he began to make aggressive smooching noises in his ear.

"OKAY MAN I GOT IT NOW SPILL THE TEA."

"What tea?" Wooyoung played coy, twirling a lock of hair around his finger and gazing off to the side.

"Ahem, to quote the legends, 'bro who got you smiling like that?'" San flung himself onto the sofa, nearly knocking his friend and the laptop off, making Wooyoung fly towards it in a panic.

The commotion also brought forth a curious pair of ears, Seonghwa stepping out into the corridor with a lint roller and a rag in hand, making it a point that apparently, exactly right now was the best time to start cleaning a specific spot of the corridor. Hongjoong also did the unthinkable and JOINED Seonghwa in cleaning, albeit a lot less enthusiastically, moving a dry rag back and forth with his foot, arms crossed.

Soon enough Wooyoung noticed that, thanks to San's very gossip-promising question, the rest of the members were also suddenly making their respective appearances and occupying themselves with menial or highly questionable tasks.

Yunho and Jongho had made a beeline for the kitchen, with the former browsing the top shelves of all the cabinets, opening each door with the speed of a sloth, and the latter pouring the tallest glass of water that was in the house, moving in slow motion.

Mingi opened his door wide open, and after peering out to check that nothing had been revealed yet, lied back down on his bed, but continuously raising his head as if repositioning an antenna.

But Yeosang was what did it for Wooyoung. He sauntered, across the entire living room, with the world's most unperturbed expression on his face, and sat down right in front of him on the floor, staring into his soul, and commanding:

"Spill."

Wooyoung was frozen still bent down from managing to catch the laptop before it fell. There was no getting out of this. It was either he said it all, or it would be 7 and hostage makes one team.

"So, there is this one TikToker right-"

"You say what now?" San interjected, as Wooyoung swore he head Jongho spit out a bit of the water as he tried to stifle a laugh.

"NO it's not like the buss it thing, we're long past that."

"Uh-huh, as if..." Seonghwa mumbled to himself, rolling his eyes.

"No really!" Wooyoung was getting fired up, enjoying the attention that he now had. Standing up on the couch, he began gesturing with the laptop as though he was a lecturer.

"Anyways. It is very wholesome. It is a baking and cafe account. Really aesthetically pleasing. The creator also has a YouTube channel, and she-"

"Ah so it IS a SHE!!!!" San clapped his hands together, as if celebrating a discovery.

"Yes, ha-ha fun-ny. Anyways, literally all of her content is amazing. So I have been watching it."

"For the past two hours." Yunho commented, finally shutting all the cupboards

"Dude and you like e-girls!" Wooyoung retorted.

"HEY that was totally uncalled for and so not true!"

"choke me like you hate me BUT YOU LOVE ME-" Mingi began a dramatic rendition of a well known song, progressively getting louder, as Yunho flew across the apartment and into his room, with a battle cry of "IT'S TIME TO STOP", ready for violence.

"Ah never would I think to see the day that my trouble child would like a wholesome, down to earth girl."

"She's a badass." Wooyoung smirked, at Hongjoong, who's expression immediately fell. "She literally owns baking competitions and five cafes. Basically a girl boss in the best way possible."

"That is one heck of a badass... like... Shiber level badass." Yeosang mused, eliciting a round of laughter from the other members.

After twisting his hands and forcing him to show them some of your videos, Wooyoung had been tasked with a mission to go to your cafe under penalty of cleaning the dorms under Seonghwa's supervision, using the eldest member's method.

He agreed initially, for the excitement of it and because, come on, he was the king of flirting and performances. How many killing points in choreography were his? But as a day turned into a week, and then two, and he was still merely a viewer who was liking all of your content, the challenge was hanging over his head like a guillotine.

The members ceaselessly taunted him with the Cleaning Contract, with Seonghwa taking particular pleasure in describing intricate routines for how he would want the smallest segment of the apartment cleaned, emphasising that if something were to be done even a tiny bit wrong, Wooyoung would be redoing the entire thing.

Finally, one sunny day the fear tactics worked, and officially done with his member's attacks, Wooyoung got up extra early, dressed up to the 10s, only to cover it with something more inconspicuous, and completed the look with truly anonymous cap and mask.

While on the way to one of your cafes, he wanted to slap himself. Firstly, what in the world was he doing, travelling to an unchecked location way before its opening time, and how did he even know that this was the cafe you were going to be at?

Way to go. He was a planner extraordinaire. But seeing as he had nothing else to do, might as well have some fun and go "you-scouting".

To his disappointment, the first location definitely did not have you anywhere in sight, so like the wind he ran back to the metro, praying that no one was going to recognise him along his journey.

Whilst catching his breath, he looked up at the 'dream-ity' logo on the second storefront, muttering a colourful collection of vocabulary under his breath - again, you were nowhere in sight.

A brief panic washed over him as he thought - what if you had been in the back of the cafe, or had just come in? And he was already on his way to his third spot - his final, considering that it was already way past opening time, and slowly becoming a risk for him.

Goyang-si, his home city. He prayed that it would not let him down, being able to house his chaos for so long.

By grace of everything good in the world, as he was ambling towards the cafe, part of him already having given up, and laughing at his boyish determination, he looked up and there you were.

Laughing with a co-worker about something or other, them being indoors, and you outside, watering some potted plants.

It felt like a dream - suddenly Wooyoung understood why you named the cafe how you did.

He checked the street for any passers by. None. Your cafe - no one except the people working. He checked his phone - destiny decided it was his day today: this particular outlet was one that opened the latest out of all, and actually he had managed to arrive half an hour early.

Before you saw him he stealthily turned the corner, and checked himself in the window of an empty car. Removing some of the clothing items to look more like his stylish, dandy self, removing his mask, and readjusting the cap to let some of his flaming red locks show and frame his face, he was ready to impress.

With the swagger that he would have on the stage, he stepped out of hiding, and took course right to your cafe. Your co worker had left you alone to finish tending to the flowers.

Wooyoung stood a bit away behind you, thinking of just how cool he would be when you beat him to it with a simple:

"Sorry, we're not open yet."

And you had not even turned to look at him. His jaw dropped. Well that was a healthy dose of reality. He bit his lip, not quite sure how to proceed.

He hummed, pensive and tried:

"Well I was hoping you could make an exception?"

"And what makes you- oh." As you turned, you were in for a shock of your life.

There he was. In person. Your bias. Of all people.

You contemplated slapping yourself but that would just be the strangest first impression. Deep breaths, deep breaths. You probably looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Quick, say something-

"If you don't mind helping with a couple of things."

Again, you were dying inside. Was that really the best thing you could say? Well, at least it was quick.

Wooyoung found your reaction adorable, and the quip even more so. Judging by your initial reaction, it was safe for him to confirm that you definitely knew who he was, but your daring offer just drew him in. He wanted to see what other buttons he could press, and how you were off camera. Off his phone or laptop screen.

"With pleasure. Are you making your signature mille-feuille today?" He asked, and sent a wink your way.

Oh. Oh he watched your content. Oh he knew what you liked to make.

"I think it needs a taste test, want a bite?" You responded, your voice dropping unintentionally low.

Well today you learned that your mouth was disconnected from your mind. And that Wooyoung seemed to be quite giddy about that.

"Exactly what I've been craving, sweetheart."

Wooyoung was burning up, and was grateful that his ears were covered by his cap, though his face was probably starting to match his hair. You probably thought he was too forward, or too pushy or too much-

"Then come on in sugar, and take some chairs down from the tables while you're at it." You instructed, beaming at him.

He could get used to this. Quickly. Like a sugar rush.

So he visited. And visited again. And again. Not caring a single bit that he had to wake up at a strange hour instead of getting more sleep. Not caring that he had to take his tired body all the way to the cafe in Goyang-si. He loved these quiet hours of the morning with you.

And definitely appreciated that you told your employees to arrive after official opening hours. So that you could just spend time together and talk about everything.

On that first day when he went back, which was much later than he had initially planned, he had attempted to cover up the rendezvous he blurted that he was visiting his family. But that did not slide, since San was immediately threatening him by pointing at his phone and boasting his ability to phone Wooyoung's entire family tree, and Seonghwa simply opened the door of the closet that housed the vacuum cleaner.

Truthfully, had he just told them that he succeeded in finding you, speaking to you and even getting your number, the evening would have been much less 'eventful', as the members ended up simply patting him on the back, giving him a round of applause in true ATEEZ sarcastic fashion, and labelling him as "lover boy" and "hopeless romantic". Not that he minded at all - actually Wooyoung felt it had a nice ring to it, and showed these traits with pride.

Quickly enough it had also permeated into his numerous K-Pop Idol Profiles on social media, when during a couple of interviews his members poked fun at him by hinting that he was as such, testing him as to what kind of excuses and stories he would make up to not reveal his connection to you for safety. He now apparently liked romance kdramas, which was questionable, but was the best he could think of in the spur of the moment.

With both of you being public figures, you had made it your top priority to ensure that no one intruded into what was only made for two. At first, you thought that Wooyoung would crack at a certain point, perhaps by accident, but as it turned out he was a LOT more responsible and considerate than his demeanour would suggest.

Even when he had simply sent you flowers to the door, he did not include any information that could in any way guide someone to you and him, instead ordering a series of emojis printed on a card that only you would be able to decrypt.

As you got to know each other better, you had grown more comfortable and began to delve into each other's deeper backgrounds, including how you came to be who you were, what fears and hopes you had, the list went on.

You had revealed to him that initially you had been lined up to be trained as a chef in traditional Korean Cuisine, to follow in the footsteps of your father. Although you could appreciate the art, and to appease your father had indeed trained for a short while, you soon realised that you could not bear being in the exact same line of work as him.

You did not want to be known simply as his daughter. As a shadow that was 'still learning, and had a long way to go', as he had informed you after you spent a 12 hour day working at his Michelin star restaurant.

The constant reprimands and harshness eventually made you crack and so you turned to your safe haven - baking and dessert making. While your father had seen only the one side of you that he wanted to shape, you had concealed your efforts to work part time when you could, to go to night classes, slowly but surely building up to an actual degree.

Once you had 'quiet quit' your Korean cuisine path and had proof under your belt that you could succeed in the 'sweeter side of life' , things became easier. You allowed yourself to just do the bare minimum, could not care less if your father did not praise you, and became much more liberal with your schedule - to make more time for creating a future that you actually wanted.

When your father had finally found out about what he had called your 'betrayal', you were prepared, and without much else to say simply gave him a 90 degree bow and sped off to Busan, where you had gotten to know an affluent professional, from whom you had further learned.

Fast forward some time later, and you had found yourself on an exchange programme in France - the loneliest time in your life, but it definitely raised you to the next level, and upon your return, 'dream-ity' was only a month away from being launched.

And now, well, you had built your own happiness, were continuously expanding business and experimenting, did masterclasses and ran popular social media accounts, with no plans to stop.

Wooyoung could only stare at you in admiration. This kind of perseverance and passion was something that he valued deeply and strived for for himself, and to see it in you was simply stunning.

He thought back to his initial impression of you, and realised how wrong he had been when labelling you just as a 'happy-go-lucky' girl who just existed in a soft alternative universe and just baked cakes all day. No, there was always something new to learn about you, from your life to your beautiful mind.

Wooyoung had become a fan of yours because he was interested in exploring something he could not do and make. He had stayed when he had heard how in love you were with what you did. And now, he fell in deep because of how well he understood you and respected you, and you did the same for him.

You two were passionate people, no doubt about that. Maybe at first one might think you two could cause a wildfire. But the maturity and level-headedness you had promoted in one another was worthy of respect.

At least when it was just you two.

Because the members were at their wits' end. He had gotten even louder, even more flamboyant, and made every effort to be the funniest guy in the room which, to be fair, did work phenomenally during quite a few of their events. But when that translated to auto-pilot loved up chaos mode in the dorms... it was a hurricane.

So they banished him out of the dorms until he came back with you being officially his girlfriend. And boy was he in trouble. It was nearing closing time for you, and it was much busier out. Thankfully, you had a back door, and let him through it, so he was safe. He waited for you until the cafe was shut, and ended up inspecting a photo of you and your father that you had up on a wall. For some reason, he looked very familiar.

When he finally figured it out, he was in for the shock of a lifetime. As his face went pale, and he was not responding to you, you got more and more concerned that Wooyoung fell ill, but all cleared up when he raised his own phone, with a photo to show you.

In the photo was him in a line chef's outfit, standing right next to your father. You and Wooyoung erupted into maniacal laughter until tears were threatening to roll down your cheeks and your ribs hurt.

"So I really took the traditional route here and met your father before I met you huh?"

That day you had to thank your father for the most unexpected thing. For the fact that somehow, by learning this interesting crossover, this provoked Wooyoung to ask you out officially (he was never going to tell about how he had a whole troop at home ready to unleash guerrilla tactics). You had poked fun at him that it was because he actually wanted to date your dad, but Wooyoung kissed you in exchange for your silence, so it was a done deal.

It was already quite late at night when Wooyoung finally thought it was necessary for him to come back, but little did either of you know, the future held a lot more obstacles than you could have imagined, with a photo of Wooyoung leaving the cafe past closing hours rapidly making rounds on social media the very next day.

Every Time a Bomb Explodes, A Super Gets Their Cape - Part 2

As discreetly as possible, Lexi shifts her eyes from the tablet in front of her to study the woman across from her.

Her mother was fidgeting in her seat, the fingers of her right hand twirling the wedding bracelet on her left. It almost seemed like an absent minded gesture, but to Lexi the simple act said so much more. Especially with the deep crinkle seated between her eyebrows.

Kara has been acting weird ever since her fight the night before with an unidentified alien; and her behavior had definitely escalated this morning. From her odd behavior in the kitchen, to her extra long hug before they left, and now her distractedness in the limo.

Rolling her neck to rid the kinks, Lexi tried to refocus on the work in front of her. She only has another week to finish the findings report for her latest experiment, and she's trying to concentrate, but she just can't shake the feeling that something is . . . off.

Out of the corner of her eye, she watches as Kara's studies the inside of the car; eyes peering out over the rim of her glasses in a way that Lexi knows means she''s using her x-ray vision. Kara may be think she's being sneaky, but you don't grow up around a super hero without learning their tells.

Lexi swipes over to the message app on her tablet and pulls up the text chain with Lena and Aunt Alex.

"Something weird is going on with mom."

No sooner has she hit 'send' then her phone goes off, lighting up and buzzing in the seat beside her with the notification of an incoming call.

Ignoring Kara's curious look, she silences the phone before turning back to her tablet.

"Don't call me! She's right here!" she types angrily in the text box to her mother as she tries to avoid looking in Kara's direction.

"Who was that?" Kara was trying to sound nonchalant but Lexi could hear the strain in her voice.

"Telemarketer." Lexi shrugged, never taking her attention from her tablet screen.

Even without looking up, she could tell you exactly the look that was on Kara's face - the patented 'super mom' stare - the same one that if Lexi didn't know better would make her believe her mother had mind reading powers.

The message icon flashes with a new text.

"Red Kryptonite?"

With two words, Alex has managed to give voice to all of their fears.

Lexi pretends to stare pensively out the window at the passing buildings; but in reality she uses the opportunity to scrutinize her mother out of the corner of her eye.

She's spent hours poring over Supergirl footage, knows all of the telltale signs of a red kryptonite exposure from the handful of incidents before.

There are no characteristic glowing red veins, and no sadistic glint in her eyes. In fact, she seems almost exactly like the person Lexi grew up with - except she seems . . . lost.

Lost and sad.

The bone deep sort of sadness that Lexi had only seen about her when she talks about losing Krypton.

No. she finally texts back.

It's not red kryptonite.

That much she's sure of.

But it is something. she adds after a moment.

Alex's response is swift.

Do I need to bring tactical support?

If there's one thing that Aunt Alex had drilled into Lexi's head over the years, it was to trust her gut.

It's a feeling, kiddo. You can't explain it, hell; half the time you don't even understand it. You just know.

And Lexi knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that her mom isn't dangerous . . . she's just . . . well . . .

With a start, she realizes that Kara has shifted to meet her gaze and their eyes are locked across the backseat of the limo.

"You alright, Little One?"

It's the same calming voice; the same term of endearment that Lexi's been hearing since she was three years old and first learning to trust people. No matter what's going on, she has to help Kara figure it out, she owes her mom that much.

"Yeah, yeah, just uh . . . nervous. Ma and Taylor have been plotting together all morning, who knows what they've come up with."

Kara's laugh doesn't quite reach her eyes.

"I'm sure it'll a surprise for both of us."

Hopefully a good surprise. Lexi can't help but hope as she types out a response to Alex before closing her laptop.

No tactical support needed.

Kara can't help but feel slightly out of place as the town car makes its way across the city. Sure, she's been in Lena's car service before, but never without Lena; and certainly not sitting across from her . . . kid. It sounds weird saying it even in her head, but it also somehow feels perfectly normal. Like a part of her looks at Lexi and feels, well, motherly. Vague memories taunt the edges of her consciousness like a dream that she can't remember.

Other feelings are there too as she listens to Lexi rattle on somewhat nervously about the space travel experiment she's working on -

Love, is the most obvious by far.

There's a warm blossoming of undying and unconditional affection that Kara can feel deep in her bones in a way that she's never felt about anything before.

Sure, she loves lots of things - potstickers, lasagna, puppies, Alex, Eliza, the memory of her parents, heck even Lena, (in more ways than she's ever even admitted to herself before today). But this, this is something entirely different. She's never felt so much love and pride and worry - god, are mothers always this worried? - directed towards a singular human being before.

She's barely known Lexi for a few hours, but she already knows that she would die for her. Perhaps more worrisome is that she would kill for her too, without a second thought.

Kara doesn't kill.

Or at least, she tries not to.

But if Lexi was in danger, she knows what her choice would be without hesitation.

It almost makes her understand what her own mother must have felt when she put Kara on the space ship bound for Earth. She'd spent years wondering how her Alura could have so easily sacrificed herself and battling with a mountain of survivor's guilt.

But now, looking at Lexi, she understands - at least in some way - the feeling behind her mother's actions.

It's not long before the car comes to a stop in the middle of National City's shopping district, and Kara watches as Lexi packs up her laptop into her shoulder bag.

She feels a rush of nerves as the younger woman slides out of the car calling a "Thank you!" to the driver as she steps onto the sidewalk.

This is it.

Sure, she's seen pictures of her and Lena together in this universe. She's spent some time around Lexi - their literal kid - the 'product of their union' - so to speak.

But this.

This is big.

This is seeing Lena with her own two eyes.

A Lena that doesn't hate her.

A Lena that knows her secrets - ALL of her secrets.

A Lena who she presumably hugs and kisses and - oh Rao, she feels her neck start to sweat under her collar - because they've definitely done things, if the drawer in the closet that she tried not to pay attention to is any indication, they've done a lot of things.

She doesn't know how to be that person with Lena.

She's only ever imagined that kind of relationship with Lena in her deepest, darkest fantasies. And now, now she's going to have to go out there and try to act normal when she knows that Lena's seen her naked before.

Of course, she's presumably seen this universe's Lena naked before too, but she doesn't remember seeing Lena naked, and that definitely puts them on an uneven playing field.

Oh Rao, why did she ever start thinking about Lena naked?!

Now it's the only thing she can think of, and wow her face is really hot -

"Hey! Mom!" Lexi's face appears as she bends down to look in the car. "You coming?"

"Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yep." It's then Kara accidentally meets the driver's gaze in the rearview mirror and of course he's looking at her like she might have possibly just grown a second head. So she smiles what is probably the most awkward smile in the history of awkward smiles, and steps out onto the sidewalk.

"Come on," Lexi begins leading her in the direction of the crosswalk. "Ma said they'd meet us on the corner of Chesnut and 4th."

It takes a moment for the light to turn red and the walk sign to flash, but by the time it does, Kara thinks she's gotten herself under control. She's even almost paying attention to the wedding drama that Lexi is going over.

That is, until she looks up and sees Lena and Taylor waiting on them across the street.

Lena isn't looking at her, instead she's looking in a store window, laughing at something Taylor is pointing at.

Kara can't help but stare, because oh, she looks beautiful.

Sure, Kara's had that thought before, but this is something else entirely. She's not sure if it's the strands of gray mixed with Lena's dark bun; or the laugh lines framing her casual expression; or the matching ring and bracelet on her left hand that sparkle when they catch the light just right. Whatever it is, hits Kara like freight train, and just as if the yellow sun turned to red, she feels weighted to the spot.

"Oh my geehad!" Lexi is stopped a few paces ahead of her in the crosswalk, exasperated look on her face. "Quit staring at your wife and come on."

Kara blushes furiously, ashamed to be caught so blatantly staring, and allows Lexi to pull her forward.

"Geez! When will you two ever stop? I swear, it's like you're two little lovebirds that can't stop staring at each other. You've been married for almost thirty years; get a grip, Mom." Lexi's voice is teasing but it does nothing to calm Kara's nerves.

"Sorry, she's just so -"

"Beautiful." Lexi finishes with a roll of her eyes. "Or stunning, gorgeous, ravishing; whatever synonym you pull out of the thesaurus today."

If Kara thought she was blushing before, it's a thousand times worse now, because she knows that they're close enough for Lena to over hear them; and even though Kara isn't the one to say the compliments out loud, she was certainly thinking them.

"Don't worry, chickadee, with any luck, you'll be an old married woman someday and you'll be so disgustingly infatuated with Taylor that you'll gross your kids out too." Lena teases as Lexi leans in to kiss her cheek.

"Yeah, yeah, but it won't be gross when I do it. " Lexi protests. "Right, Tay?"

Taylor laughs, pulling Lexi in for a kiss.

"I think it's adorable."

Kara can't help but smile at the two of them, because their so obviously in love; and young love is something magical for sure. Then she looks back at Lena, and her heart stutters in her chest just a little bit, and her stomach flip flops, and maybe it isn't just young love that's magical. Because now, she's face to face with green eyes that certainly feel like magic to her.

"Don't let her tease you, darling. I love your synonyms." Lena smirks."

"Ah heh." It's then that Kara's brain decides to notice that Lena's lipstick is the same maroon shade as her coat. She knows she's staring, but she can't stop her eyes from tracing the path from Lena's eyes to her mouth and back again. And then Lena's face is inching closer and closer, and before Kara can put together what's happening; Lena's lips are on hers.

Because of course they're kissing, because that's something that they do, obviously.

And of course Lena's mouth feels like heaven, and Kara wants to lose herself in the hypnotic movement of her lips and the gentle tracing of her tongue and -

Just like that, Lena's pulling away.

Because this kiss may be something monumental to Kara; but to Lena it's just a regular kiss - something they do every day, several times a day at that.

Kara can't help herself from chasing Lena's lips with her own.

Can't help reaching a hand up to frame Lena's jaw and pull her closer.

Can't help her tongue from following Lena's back to the other woman's mouth.

Can't help her other hand from settling on Lena's waist and fisting around the leather of her belt.

Because it feels like the first time.

It feels like something she's waited years for.

But it also feels like something she's done a thousand times before and will do a thousand times again - as long as Lena will let her.

Their breath mixes together in a heady sort of haze, and the kiss deepens into something that's almost to much for a street corner.

When Lena pulls back, Kara lets her; but she keeps her hand on Lena's cheek, thumb reaching to swipe at lipstick that's smeared under Lena's bottom lip.

"Ahem." Lexi clears her throat pointedly, and Taylor snickers; but Kara's too love drunk on the sparkle in Lena's eyes to care.

Her stomach, unfortunately, pays no attention to the mood or the desire pooling in her belly and lets out a loud grumble.

The sudden noise may ruin the kiss, but it makes Lena giggle, and Kara can't help but think that that's almost just as good.

"Come on," Lena pulls away, taking Kara's hand in her own as she turns. "Let's stop embarrassing our daughter and get you some food."

DESCRIPTION OF "GENEPRO★7"

A 7-member unit "Gekidan SEVEN" that is extremely popular amongst the young people. While heading into preparations for the much talked about stage play "Shakespeare Legends", with the addition of a new group member Yamai Keisuke (Miura Kairi), the group's charismatic leader Soga dies.

With the loss of Soga, something in the group starts crumbling: the members start blaming each other for their mistakes, they are disinterested in rehearsals and cracks form in their belief in each other. On top of that, they are told "a certain secret", which causes the wheel of fate to ruthlessly spin out of control.

Is someone manipulating them? Is it some kind of trap set for the group? A creepy shadow haunts each and every one of them, ridiculing them and mocking them. There is an unstoppable sense of suspicion and impatience.

Who is the mastermind who is trying to break the bond between the 7?

Manta rays are a symbol of respect and tenacity.

This is because they easily adapt to different pressures and depths in the oceans.

Oceanic manta rays have few natural predators as they are very large and fast .The main ones are large sharks and dolphins.

Manta rays have a late sexual maturity. Males become sexual mature when their discs are 4m and females when the discs are about 5m wide .

The have a long gestation period and (12-13months ) and normally have one pup. With threats such as overfishing, this makes it difficult for their populations to bounce back easily.

Their gills are highly valued in the Chinese medicine market and are used to make a tonic that boosts one’s immunity.

They are officially listed as endangered by the IUCN.

Other threats they face include:

Pollution ( manta rays are filter feeder and they may be consuming micro plastics which are known to carry persistent organic chemicals such as DDT’s)

Boat collisions

Bycatch(they get caught in fishing gear especially in shallow waters)

Sanremo 2023 - the post!

Hello everyone! Here you’ll find this year’s Sanremo’s stuff and news (I’ll be uploading this post through all the week). The Festival will start on tuesday February 7th at 8:30 pm (it’ll probably have a 5 minutes “anteprima = preview” every night), and end on saturday February 11th, when the final will be broadcasted.

Also this year we’ll have the PrimaFestival, the small show broadcasted on Rai1 at around 8:30 p.m. (February 4th - February 11th). The host are Andrea Delogu (actress), gli Autogol (Youtube/Actors’ group of comedians and radio hosts) and Jody Cecchetto (gamer/speaker).

I’m not sure if it's gonna be like the usual Dopofestival, with the analysis of the show at the end of each night, but Fiorello is going to be live with a show "VivaRai2...Viva Sanremo di notte!" right sfter the end of each evening on RaiUno. Seeing it's Fiorello, I believe it's gonna be a bit different than usual.

To watch it live:

Raiuno -> just click on the first video on the left, or here, to open the Raiuno streaming immediately (I added the whole Rai channels things in case you had troubles connecting directly and wanted to try from there). The RAI's geoblock is usually removed for Sanremo's week, no need to create accounts or whatsoever to enjoy Sanremo online!! Remember you can rewatch the whole event and each performance on Raiplay few minutes after it has happened (and the whole week will be avaiable as well for basically the whole following year).

FESTIVAL LIS - songs and whole exhibition explained in signs language

FANTASANREMO - this year as well you can play while enjoying your Sanremo! How does it work? Every person "buys" 5 artisti and marks one of them as a captain. As last year, artists will have to do or say something while on stage to help you gain points (and also classification will have a say).

I’ll try to write down some more infos/links through the week.

Hosts & Guests + Other Stuff

This years’ host will still be Amadeus (who choose the songs taking part into this Sanremo), a TV and radio host. He will be accompanied by Gianni Morandi (singer) who will co-host with him all the evenings; as in the past 3 years, they'll be accompanied also by a different co-host woman each night: Chiara Ferragni (online business woman; first and last night); Francesca Fagnani (journalist, tv host; second night); Paola Egonu (volleyball player, model; third night); Chiara Francini (actress, tv host, writer; fourth night). Some of the one-night guests during the week will be: Mahmood and Blanco, i Pooh, Massimo Ranieri, Al Bano, Gianni Morandi, Black Eyed Peas, Maneskin... This year too there will be singers perfoming on a boat and in live stream with the Sanremo stage: Salmo, Fedez (husband of Chiara Ferragni), Takagi & Ketra e Guè. In the square outside the Theater, there will be the exhibitions of Piero Pelù, Francesco Renga and Nek, Achille Lauro, Annalisa and La Rappresentante di Lista (these too will be broadcasted on Sanremo).

How it works

There will be 28 singers in the ARTISTI (artists) section. It will be the only section, as last year. 22 artists were chosen by Amadeus, while the other 6 are the winners of Sanremo Giovani (held in December 2022). The winner of the competition will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest: if he/she/they won’t accept, the choice will be another artist, usually the 2nd classified or the next (the first one accepting). On the 4th night, there will be the usual “covers” night.

what social medias i headcanon daredevil characters using

Foggy - almost exclusively Instagram and Facebook. Facebook for his older relatives and IG for his friends/younger relatives. He doesn't post on FB much - only for major holidays. It's mostly for the Nelson family FB messenger group and events since that is the only site his parents bothered learning. He posts more on IG for his friends and for himself. He has a Twitter he only logs into for breaking news (Fisk getting arrested, Avengers incidents, etc) he doesn't ever post there. His pfp on Twitter is Elle Woods.

Karen - since Deborah Ann is one, i headcannon Karen as a major nerd thoroughly entrenched in her fandoms. She uses Discord for friends and Reddit for news and arguing with people online. She has an Instagram she updates occasionally. Was on Tumblr during the Superwholockian days but isn't anymore. She's on alot of platforms but does a good job maintaining her anonymity and is very careful about not giving out too many details about herself.

Ellison - Twitter. Posts quippy one-liners for his 537 followers and has a blue checkmark since he is Editor of the Bulletin.

Dex - Whatever Julie is on.

Brett - Facebook and complains about ads relentlessly. Says he is going to give it up but never does. He's also plays the NYT Wordle everyday and posts his results in the work group chat.

Elektra - Instagram, but it's JUST for looks. She posts gorgeous pictures of herself from across the world and has 45K followers.

Josie - you would be surprised to learn that the rough bartender is on Facebook mostly for political memes.

Vanessa - not on social medias as it goes against her "living in the moment" life philosophy.

Fisk - Fisk has all social medias but they are "official" update accounts that are ran by his team. They all have the exact same professional headshot pfp.

Ray - a groupchat messenger like WhatsApp or FB messenger for family updates mostly. Since he is the FBI he shys away from social media.

Marci - TikTok. LOVES the gross pimple popping TikToks and lifehack TikToks. Read every book on BookTok. Saves all recipes. Eats TikTok UP. Tried to get Foggy on it while they are dating. She also has a SnapChat she used in college to get weed.

Matt - Has a LinkedIn profile he was forced to make in a career prep class he took in university. Hasn't touched it since Senior year of his undergrad.

Hello! Firstly, thank you so much for sharing content, etc, about Ryuji's activities. As a new fan of his, your posts helped me a lot.

I really want to watch Ryuji's series/movies/musicals but I don't know where to start. Japanese isn't a problem and I don't mind paying to watch either as I'm very willing to support artists I like, but most sites are region restricted. Do I need to use a vpn? Unfortunately, you are right about most official Japanese sites being region-locked. Personally, I think having a VPN installed is really convenient in this regard.

List of VPNs that you could try: SoftEther, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Cyberghost, Surfshark, TunnelBear

Please note that these are just suggestions and there are also other VPNs out in the market. Each VPN has its advantages and disadvantages, so do select the one that is the safest and most suitable for you :D

Also, some sites can detect VPN, so having one might not guarantee access to all sites.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Most Common Payment Options: Credit card (Visa, Mastercard), Paypal

Payment options depend on the site themselves as well as the options available depending on the region you're accessing the site from.

In some cases, even though direct payment doesn't work, the site might have alternative payment options that you can use. For example, Amazon Prime Video Japan also has the Amazon Gift Card option.
