Greetings, far-flung traveler. A question for you: how do you create these "Voltas" of yours? I would like to understand your process.
-@in-omni-scientia
mon joie de livre / hello, here's my gist:
many old voltas already exist
they pre-date us all / from more war-filled times
taught to us in school like nursery rhymes
my pilot prepared to go through the pale
a thousand more voltas / though to no avail
the wartimes had ended / aerostatics aside
and despite disappointments / i stay here to guide
in a way, clever one, we're alike afterall
a distant voice singing / a memory to recall
though sometimes i make them (my pilot does too)
when im more than just song (like how i talk to you)
a volta do mar can be easy to make:
needs meter and rhythm (for breathing to take)
reminders of love (someone calling you home;
or something to ground you, through pale you may roam)
though not truly needed, an option to rhyme
(easier to remember through more dire times)
i hope i've assisted, if not let me know,
its a pleasure to meet you and merci beaucoup

The next knives out should have a mystery with motifs of either adultery, poker, or bees so we can continue the rhyme
Knives out, chives out, wives/fives/hives out

Last Line Tag
HI IT'S BEEN A THOUSAND YEARS. I have basically every tag game I was put in this year saved to a very, very large bookmarks folder on my toolbar and at this point I'm too afraid to poke at it.
@zmwrites tagged me in a last line tag and I just wrote some lines i needed an excuse to share, so thank you for that!
ANYWAY here's Dedrick's stream of consciousness morphing into his instinctual Ashon Lyricism going "hey i can use this" and just--
I saw the stars like few ever could.
I saw the men that made them.
They called me by name.
I thought it was only mine.
They gave me a destiny.
The Curse given from the divine.
No I don't know where this came from either. I really hope it survives rewrites.
ANYWAY I guess I'll tag uhhhh @ashen-crest @magic-is-something-we-create @akindofmagictoo and/or anyone else who ALSO needs an excuse to share some lines they just wrote. GO NUTS

Picture ID:
RhymeZone screenshot cropped in on a few entries, punctuation added by yours truly to ad hoc a poem. It reads quoth:
“In memory,
Emery:
Never be —
Never see —
Beverly
Whenever we
Celery.” Unquoth.
End picture ID.

based on the amount of people that write lyrics/poems with the syllable count slightly/completely unmatching for their rhymes, i have to guess that it's probably no big deal,
that being said. pisses me off

there are spike traps round my tower,
ensnaring those below.
no matter how the dangers lour,
there’s always more in tow.
the witches hunts and stern decrees,
i tire to run from.
i barely hear their earnest pleas,
its through the gore they come.
maybe theyre right, as i cant find
a reason left for me.
if giving up could be to try
something put so simply.
i hammer down each spike and spine
and bury them in twelves.
they come to visit, i to greet them, it was fine,
til they remember why they sharpened them themselves.

I wish we had a word for tribalism that wasn't tribalism (because of the, you know, bastardization of indigenous people's terms)
