BMC ZINE INTEREST CHECK!!!

Please interact with this post if you’d be interested in a Be More Chill fanzine. I know there have already been several zines for this fandom but I think another won’t hurt!

I noticed there isn’t a recent zine and that most were from 2018 (ah 2018 my beloved) so I was thinking it’d be nice, as sort of a dead fandom, to make something cool with those of us that are still heere.

Little background: I got into BMC when I was 12 and now I’m 18. I am a grade above the BMC kids in school. Yes I have not fully grasped the passage of time. I sort of left the fandom for a very long time and now I’m back out of nostalgia!

I noticed I have a surplus of people following my blog because of my BMC fanart and kandi so this just seems like a good idea.

So anyway! If you’d be interested in participating/reading one just like or reblog or comment or whatevs! It would contain fanart, fanfiction, and maybe even cosplay (does anyone still cosplay BMC characters?)

This zine would also be digital and free because finances and printing are scary!

One difference between the bmc book and musical that I haven’t seen anyone talk about is the reason why rich set the fire. I think the generally accepted reason in the musical was that it was a suicide attempt (I don’t remember if that’s canon or not). The musical also clarifies that he wasn’t drunk or high when he set the fire, probably because he didn’t want to mess up his squip. But based on the old websites about the book, he likely was drunk or high. Several sites mention that drinking alcohol or getting high while the squip is on causes squipzophrenia. One of the symptoms of squipzophrenia is a fasciation with fire. So, in the book, rich set the fire because he was experiencing squipzophrenia

richard used to be a stable boy and hated how insignificant he felt in the village so he found himself under the count's wing and became a fellow accomplice for him, he helps lure in the next victims for the count to feed on. during a masquerade ball, he and the count attend and have their eyes on jeremy who just found out that christine is engaged--squip sends richard over to jeremy to convince him to visit the count.

I get hysterical whenever I remember that Keanu Reeves is the *default* for the Squip. Which means that everyone sees/hears Keanu Reeves at first but actively chooses something else. Which means Rich *actively* chose Evil Kermit to be his Squip. Which means Chloe *actively* chose for herself to be her Squip (I think?).
