Happy Birthday Dongyoon

Happy birthday to my angel Dongyoon. I know you wouldn’t want any of us to be sad on a day like today, but it’s not easy. I will use today, as I do every day, to remember all the good and happy times and celebrate your life. I wasn’t able to mourn your passing properly and I didn’t find out the news until months later so it’s very hard for me. It doesn’t feel real, like you’re not really gone. I miss you like crazy. I can’t put my feelings or thoughts into words but I miss you so much it hurts. But I will remain strong.

You were the bias I never told anyone about but loved with all my heart and soul. You brought me so much happiness and joy, you always made me laugh and smile, especially when I seemed to need it the most. I will never forget you. You will forever hold a special place in my heart. For all eternity. I was even listening to you and the boys earlier today on my way to work. I’ll never forget the day you came into my life. One of the best days ever and one of the best things to ever happen to me.

I know you are watching over us all and guiding and protecting us as you always have. And please continue to do so for all eternity until we meet up with you when it is our time. Dramas for days when you’re sick of cheesy romance

(Suggested list by @dramasthetic)

Disclaimer: If any of these had romance in it then sorry I probably forgot it and it didn’t stand out much (some had a bit but nothing important to the plot).

Avengers Social Club (Ra Miran, Lee Yowon, Myung Sebin)

I love this show so much it’s so brilliant and the main cast had such a unique friendship. I could watch another season of this, although it would have to have the same main cast because they brought the script to life and I couldn’t imagine it any other way. There was this carpenter guy but he was kinda irrelevant so I’ll just say this had zero romance. Anyways, this is a solid drama and if you breathe air then you should watch this.

Juhan Shuttai! (Kuroki Haru, Odagiri Joe, Sakaguchi Kentaro)

Although I only watched this recently it shot straight into my top 10 jdramas. At first I thought they were going to put Kurosawa -the cutest lead ever- and Iokibe together and have Koizumi as the second lead (which would have been terrible let's be clear) but I was pleasantly surprised that they ditched the romance altogether which made it a hilarious yet heartwarming story to watch. It has a similar feel to Jimi ni Sugoi except without the romance and 90% more comedy. This is such a rare find since it’s not dark (for the most part) nor is it a thriller so those who don’t like thrillers this one is for you.

Solomon's Perjury (Kim Hyunsoo, Jang Dongyoon, Seo Jihoon)

It’s safe to say that this is one of my favourite school dramas. Thinking about it now there probably was some romance in it since kdrama writers love shoving romance into just about everything, but that’s the least important part of the story honestly. Whilst there are a lot of dramas about bullying in schools, the trial part was particularly interesting. I don’t want to spoil anything but it gets pretty dark and there’s a lot of talk about the school system and suicide (it gets pretty heartbreaking so think it through before you watch it).

Missing Noir M (Kim Kangwoo, Jo Boah, Park Heesoon)

If you follow this blog then you’re probably sick of me mentioning this drama but please it’s so damn good just watch it ok. The plot is quite unique in comparison to most crime thrillers since it focuses on missing people, but it’s also about violent crimes. If the synopsis or KKW’s beautiful face isn’t enough, Kang Haneul makes a short yet impactful appearance and Jo Boah is a cool hacker and isn’t paired off with some creepy guy *slowly turns to the camera with a grin*.

Children of Nobody (Kim Sunah, Lee Yikyung, Cha Hakyeon)

I can summarise this one quickly: THIS IS SO DARK AND TRAGIC THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SPACE FOR ANY LOVEY DOVEY BUSINESS.

Misaeng (Im Siwan, Lee Sungmin, Kang Sora)

This was my first Siwan drama and I was surprised by how amazing he was in this role. There’s this really mellow feel to this one, but at times I felt like it ripped my heart out seeing Geurae and Youngyi being belittled. A downside would be that there was only like 3 female characters, I wasn’t going to mention it but this cast is INCREDIBLE (Haneul, Byun Yohan, Kim Daemyung, Tae Inho, Oh Minsuk AND Kim Heewon? Absolutely legendary). There is no other office drama that could beat this one. (I know I was talking about Siwan but Sukyool is my boy)

Black Dog (Seo Hyunjin, Ra Miran, Hajoon)

Currently watching this gem and the finale is next week so if they decide to shoehorn in a romance then I will choke someone, but I highly doubt it since it would be really random and there is A LOT to clear up in 2 episodes. This isn’t too dark nor is it cheesy which is why it fills my heart with such joy. Ji Haewon please come back it’s lonely out here without you.

Daeyoung: 

Gengar! 

Gengar has the ability to hide perfectly in the shadow of any object, granting it exceptional stealth. However, Gengar's body acts as a heat sink. Its presence cools the temperature of the surrounding area by nearly 10°F (5°C), because it absorbs the warmth. Gengar is very mischievous, and at times, malicious. It enjoys playing practical jokes and casting curses, such as pretending to be one's shadow, then behaving erratically. When the quarry notices, the Gengar takes delight in its victim's terror. However, Gengar has been known to be loyal to a Trainer who treats it well. Being the result of an evolution via trading, Gengar is rarely found in the wild, though they can be found in caves and dark places where shadows form. It is especially fond of urban areas such as cities and back alleys, but only during the night.

Found his Gengar as a Gastly and named him Mister Purple because baby Daeyoung was very original. Even in his regular verse, Daeyoung adores Gengar, has almost all the Gengar merchandise available and even transforms into one with his magic. 

Proxy: 

Silvally!

Once it finds a partner it trusts, Type: Null destroys its own control mask to become Silvally. It reverts to its natural, wild temperament, but it is nonetheless loyal to its Trainer, and will even risk its own life in its partner's defense. The destruction of its mask re-activates its RKS System, allowing it to change its type according to the memory attached to it; its eyes, spikes, drives, and fin membrane all change color to match its current type.

As an amalgamation of “science” himself, Proxy definitely got assigned a Type:Null with his involvement in Manticore Industries. A manticore and his pet chimera also seems very on the nose.

Minho: 

Gumshoos! 

Gumshoos hunts by patiently waiting along its prey's known travel routes and pouncing when the unsuspecting prey comes along. Due to its tenacious personality and ability to withstand intense hunger, it is able to wait for its prey for long periods without eating. Its favorite prey are Rattata and Raticate, but since Gumshoos is diurnal, it rarely encounters them. Once the sun sets, this Pokémon's stamina is depleted and it will fall asleep where it stands. It is not originally from Alola, and was brought over to take care of Rattata outbreaks.

A weasel touting a weasel is hilarious. It was the easiest and weakest thing on a starter route to tack onto a forgotten younger child who would then develop a crippling fear of sharp fangs amongst other things...rip 

Dongyoon: 

Azumarill! 

Azumarill has highly developed hearing that allows it to hear distances, even when it is underwater. By keeping still and listening closely, it can identity prey even in wild, fast-moving rivers. If Azumarill spots a drowning Pokémon, it will make a balloon out of air that helps them breathe. It lives in rivers and lakes, and can live in the water all day long.

He can literally turn into this in his regular verse... Needing to help everyone is also a huge trait of his ;w; 

Deuleol: 

Liepard!

Liepard has well-developed muscles that allows it to run silently and strike opponents from behind. It has also been known to vanish and reappear without warning. It is known to be rather moody and vicious. 

Not only is it a big cat, something Deuleol would immediately fall in love with, they’re also sneaky little creatures that can be vicious at the drop of a hat? Big love for somewhat evil ex-talk show hosts. 

Inwoo: 

Tapu Bulu! 

This guardian of Ula'ula Island is able to command vegetation to grow and change shape to its will. Despite its fearsome power, it is largely inactive, leading some to consider it a lazy Pokémon. It has a peaceful disposition and does not like to cause unnecessary violence, so it rings the bell on its tail to alert others of its presence. However, it is merciless to those who offend it and it is said to have once repelled thieves from its ruins by swinging trees like clubs. The ruined Tapu Village stands as another example of the guardian's wrath.

Canonically the avatar of this Pokemon, and “merciless to those who offend it” is so on the nose. Became inexplicably linked to this guardian’s fate due to it seeking out his mother first. 

Kwanwoo: 

Toxtricity!

Amped Form Toxtricity are known to be short-tempered and extremely confident. This form aggressively attacks anything that makes eye contact with it. It slowly absorbs stagnant water for the toxin it contains. It then breaks down the poison in order for Amped Form Toxtricity to generate electricity. By clawing at its protrusion located on its chest, both forms of Toxtricity can generate electricity. The sound it makes resembles that of an electric string instrument; a standard guitar for Amped Form, and a bass guitar for Low Key Form.

Aggressively smug and confident lizards that are also hugely poisonous? It’s too on the nose for me not to choose this for Kwanwoo :P

It’s June 2nd when trainees are called to hear what exactly was prepared for them this month. The coaches tell them they will be grouped with their company mates this time, separated by gender except for Nova who’ll get to work all together. The challenge sounds easy: choose three of your company seniors’ songs and perform them. Don’t worry, only dancing is asked this time! The only trick seems to be their evaluation performance is scheduled for the following week, June 9th.

When the day comes, the trainees start their performance as it should be, but are soon surprised by the catch. The coaches warned them right before they started to keep performing no matter what happened, and, unlike a few months before, the song does not stop. Instead, it skips ahead, and a few moments later changes to your second song. Maybe it takes some time for the trainees to notice, but what they’re going through is the famous Random Play Dance. They’re expected to adjust their formation and continue dancing to which part of the song is playing.

Once the game finally comes to its end (maybe after tricking the trainees into thinking it was over a few times before), the coaches announce the real evaluation for the month. It’s a variety month, and everybody will have to do their best to impress. With the first week going by, trainees are assigned their second mission. They’re told to practice or discover one or more personal skill to show on the following Sunday, the 16th, in front of all your company mates. This can be anything from a weird trick you can do with your hands, imitating animals or anything you think could impress. They’re told languages and instruments are off-limits. Remember that this is supposed to be variety, so don’t go for anything that’d leave a possible fan uninterested!

The third challenge is something that anyone aspiring to do well with variety should know how to do. During this week, the companies will receive the visit of comedian Shin Beomsu to talk and show a bit of how improv works. On the 23rd, they’ll be grouped to work on a scene they will only learn the theme of on the spot. Everybody will gather at their own company’s auditorium and, as the coaches call your name, you take the stage with your new partners and do your best not to get out of character or too boring. Treat your labelmates watching you as a real public and make sure they’re entertained! A list of the groups and themes can be found below the cut.

Finally, when the fourth week comes, the coaches keep it with an air of mystery. The only hint is that they should work hard during gym workout but, apart from that, the only real information comes on d-day, June 30th. At the very last day of the month, exactly at 2pm, all trainees are called into the gym for their final evaluation of the month. Each one of them receives a special vest to put on with a single white line on the back. The challenge is announced quickly, and most people would probably understand it right away. They’re told to take their name tags at the exit with the coaches and then hide somewhere because they’re about to re-create an episode of Running Man inside their building. They’re told that, at exactly 2:30pm, the game starts.

Once everyone is sent running and the time hits, the game will start. Whoever gets their nametag ripped from their back will have to return to the gym and wait for the final results. Trainees are expected to make it fair and coaches will be roaming around the building to make sure no one gets hurt. They are also told to avoid getting near their CEO’s office as the off-limits area. We’ll announce the winner OOC on the 1st of July.

Becoming a trainee was a lot harder than expected, escaping a burning building or ripping Mount Everest with your bare hands was perhaps easier. It wasn't like it was physically hard on Dongyoon, but it was definitely mentally hard. He had managed to keep the whole trainee thing a secret, mother really couldn't find out, she would go crazy and suddenly get high hopes, everybody else couldn't find out because that would make the chance of mother finding out bigger. But keeping it a secret had its difficulties, he had no one to talk to it about and no one to help him. However, it wasn't like nobody in the whole world didn't know, other trainees of KT of course knew, and so Dongyoon had made it his mission to make friends within KT, process going slower than expected, but he was still making some.

If Dongyoon had to guess why KT signed him then he would guess because of his confidence, because he can literally not do anything else, singing, dancing and rapping just isn't something he's particularly good at. He can play soccer, but it wouldn't really make sense that they signed him because he's good at that. Confidence was his best guess, if you thought about it, he was always confident, he performed bingle bangle in a crop top and still had confidence like no other.

It seemed like this guy had noticed Dongyoon's confidence, at least they had asked him to teach him how to be so confident and immediately Dongyoon had said yes, this was his chance to make friends. He had invited the guy out to a very fancy place, a tree. He had brought a very fancy camera, his phone. And the two were about to do what Dongyoon would call a 'photoshoot'.

"Okay listen here buddy, all you gotta do is, pose and look confident".

I logged into Facebook to only find out you left this world. To only find out your no longer around. You were only 20, you were so young. There’s people out there I know that don’t respect you and I apologize for those hoes, Thank you for all the memories you spent as an idol making our fangirl life’s better and less depressed. thank u! i've been following them since january or february so ik a bit more info about them and i'd like to share it with you guys! ^^ seems like they're going to be a six member group! we thought they were gonna be five (they uploaded a photo with blurred faces of five members) but recently, sundae posted on his ig story with their logo and he added 6 emojis of boys! they'll most likely debut in october. they mentioned this during sehyun's live several times (1).

(2) (seems like sehyun isn’t debuting with them though :c) sundae had also posted on his ig story with “90 days left, 26 july oct 26 ✌” SO MOST LIKELY THEY’LL DEBUT THE 26TH OF OCTOBER! just speculation lol lineup will probably consist of: 1. sundae (pretty much confirmed) 2. kim dongyoon 3. minjae 💘 4. moon seunghyuk (former d.i.p & underdog member) 5. LSH 6.
