My 2023 Achievements

Following a Unity course I did my second game, S.T.A.R.

A lot of little videogame prototypes I can't show yet, they're not good enough to be seen but it was progress, learning and experimentation!

I got a job :D

Knowing about Rain World, playing +700 hours and creating this tumblr account because of this game!

I created two DMS mods, Dripcat and The Fidget!! (The Fidget by Pookapufferfish). I'm really happy about this mods and I would love to create more!

I started learning and prototyping about region creating in Rain World, here it is some of my practice:

This year wasn't a great one, but in the end I learnt a lot, specially about modding and game developing. I met my favorite game and I hope I'll know more about the game, the mods and the fandom!!

#fun fact! this oc is based on a real modded hunter run I did #I went through a bunch of modded regions and tried to get wanderer + all pearls (plexicon) #at the end of the run I had all pearls but was missing a single wanderer pip #I could not find this pip. the run had been going on for months. I just wanted to finish it #so I went to the void sea and swam down and... crashes #I reload and do it again. keeps crashing at the “swim to the orb” bit #so psychopomp having a botched ascension isn't even a fan thing. that's just real. that happened to me #(I never even found out what the missing pip was) #the mask is from the run too! I kept it on me the entire time #rain world #rw slugcat #slugcat #slugcat oc #void worm

0/45 rooms complete, but I intend to work on the stuff near Outskirts soon. The rooms will be more populated with stuff, and there will definitely be more than one lizard lol

Also if Underpass is the name of someone else’s region, please tell me so I can rename!! I don’t ever want to step on anyone else’s creation

First finished room with the level editor! It's intended to be the starter room for this slugcat, who enters from the left (it's inaccessible for that reason)

The concept for this part of the region is an underground prison that some caverns have formed in since the ancients moved on top of the iterators

Below the cut is my first attempt. I asked for some feedback and completely redid the room based on that and I'm glad I did because MAN the first version was ugly

I’ve been working on something for a couple of months now that I think i should  announce now

Introducing: Urban Expansion!

Ever thought that rain world has too few urban regions? Are Outskirts and Drainage System not enough for you? Just want more rain world? then Urban Expansion is the mod for you!

There are three regions in development currently:

 Residential District, a vibrant, moss covered urban jungle comprised of high towers and tangled concrete highways.

Sunken Alleys, a muddy swamp in the impoverished bowels of the city, in the shade of the dense bustle of the buildings above.

and lastly (if i don’t succumb to scope bloat), Power Station, a cold, foggy facility that supplies power to the regions.

I’ve been wanting to make a proper region pack for rain world for years now, and after 4 years of slacking modding rain world (including work on the dlc. When downpour comes out, look for my name in the credits :3), it’s finally happening.

A shortcut! #Now imagine for a sec trying to get through a parkcore + miros bird gauntlet with a corpse and a worm within 5 cycles #before the scav ran out of karma and you were stuck inside forever. Yeah #Besides that tho I've been messing around and been very tenderly modding the game. #Turns out you can have a bit of fun with most sprites without too much effort by simply cloning the MSC mod in your files #Then changing the copy's mod info so it doesn't clash and simply swapping images out for whatever you want #As long as you have the sprite name you can do this. You can also change region names and decals and music all sorts of stuff. #In short I've been brewing a custom mod for a friend to make her suffer as much as possible <3 #Thanks to a buddy on the rw server for showing me that trick btw lol. The best cesspool I've ever participated in #Oh before I forget- the symbol on CW's head is completely made up. They just looked so... Bald. #Tbh I wasn't expecting their personality to be so... bright? Most interpretations make them kinda solemn and gloomy #But nah this CW is what NSH should've been 100%. I like them. Not gonna spoil too much but their situation is somehow so... chill. #Still bad tho! #Other fun news! There's a scammer going around on discord that's basically like ''bad news I reported you for fraud'' #And they're getting a lot of people. My buddy that owned my home server got hit and we lost everything. It's all OK tho nobody was hurt #I keep trying to ask them questions on my alts but they're ignoring me... I kinda wanna bait them into doing the scam with me #to see how far I get before they catch on 😜 #Wasting a scammer's time is never a waste of time #Ah I had more to say but I reached my tag max. Till next time- hopefully my animation project will be done by then!
