Hero Vision Vol.55 (2015/Winter) Kamen Rider Blade 10th Anniversary Reunion Interviews Discussion on the Blade Drama CD (translations below)
Publication: February 23, 2015
Takayuki Tsubaki (Kazuma Kenzaki/Blade) Ryoji Morimoto (Hajime Aikawa/Chalice) Hironari Amano (Sakuya Tachibana/Garren) Takahiro Hojo (Mutsuki Kamijo/Leangle)
Tsubaki: I know that since Kamen Rider Blade is celebrating its 10th anniversary, the fans have been asking if we could do something for them. It reminded me that this show is still loved by so many people.
Amano: We talked about how it'd be nice if we could do something together. Kindof like how "Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger" celebrated its 10th anniversary, and released a new project.
Tsubaki: Yeah. Then, we were offered to do a Drama CD. It made me really happy. This is the first of its kind in Kamen Rider history, and I think the only reason such an offer was given, was because the fans, Toei, the sponsors, the staff, and the cast all came together to make it happen.
Amano: For me, at first, I honestly wondered how a 10 year old production would be revived, and whether anyone would buy it.
Morimoto: Yeah. For me, my first impression was that this was a new beginning. Honestly, I was happy, but I was also worried about whether I'd be able to portray the role I played 10 years ago in a convincing way.
Hojo: I felt the same way. However, when I first heard about it, I was more happy than worried. Blade was the work I was most attached to, and had the most vivid memories of during my acting career. Now, in a brand new drama written 10 years later, I was really looking forward to it.
Amano: But, I also thought it was a story that I couldn't accept if all four of us weren't here.
Morimoto: That's the minimum requirement. After all, "Blade" is only possible if we're all together.
Amano: That's why I thought the most important thing was whether Joe (Hojo-san's nickname), who had retired from acting and returned to his hometown Nagoya, would be able to appear in this work. If they said, "He's retired, so just drop it," then there's nothing we can do about it. But, when Joe said he was sure and wanted to continue to be involved with the Kamen Rider series, it was then that I realized for the first time that this story would actually be happening.
Tsubaki: In Joe's case, locating him was quick, but contacting him to finalize the deal was the hard part.
Hojo: Just as we were talking about it, my cell phone died......(laughs)
Tsubaki: It was the first time I saw him in awhile, but he suddenly brought me a box with his new smartphone in it and said, "Baki (Tsubaki-kun's nickname), set it up for me."
Amano: You're better off with a flip phone! (laughs). I sent you an e-mail the other day, but when I asked, "Why didn't you reply?," you said your screen had broke.
Tsubaki: Those kinds of things usually makes me nervous, but it's different when we're working on Blade. The other day, I asked him, "What would you do if you were offered an acting role for something other than Kamen Rider?" He said, "I won't do it. But, if it's Kamen Rider, I'll definitely do it." I'm so happy that Joe still feels that way even after 10 years.
-10 years later, the four of us are just as you imagined-
Morimoto: I was happy to see that the Drama CD was a continuation of the story up to episode 49, which we had performed over the course of a year, all while creating a new story.
Amano: I was happy to see the presence of Kenzaki (Kazuma), how Hajime (Aikawa) had grown as a human, and how Mutsuki (Kamijo) had become an adult.
Morimoto: And also, Tachibana-san is more like a gentleman.
Tsubaki: I think Kenzaki was as I expected. I was told by Director Ishida (Hidenori) in the film "Missing Ace," which takes place 4 years after the show, that, "Kenzaki will not change even after 4 years." I thought that even 10 years later, Kenzaki would still be the same.
Morimoto: It was the exact image I had in mind, or rather, what I wanted him to be like.
Amano: On the flip side, the most unexpected thing was the conversations between Tachibana and Hajime. After 10 years, It seems that Tachibana was now able to talk with Hajime.
Morimoto: That's for sure. At the time, Garren (who Tachibana transforms into) and Chalice (who Hajime transforms into) were enemies.
Amano: Now, Ryo-chan (Morimoto-san) and I are having deep conversations.
Morimoto: Just like me and Amano-kun, I was happy to see that after 10 years, Hajime and Tachibana had developed a strong relationship. That's why I felt that the scene had to be a condensed version of their 10 years together.
Hojo: There's a line from Mutsuki in the TV show, where he says, "I want to protect the smiles and tears of people."……Going along with that, Mutsuki's choice of an event company as a place of employment in order to make people smile had me thinking, "That makes sense." It also makes him happy having junior colleagues. In his mind, Mutsuki's senior is Tachibana-san, but it's not enough to just imitate him. Therefore, I think I was able to play the role of a senior in my own way, although not as strict as Tachibana-san.
Amano: By the way, how are Mutsuki and Nozomi-chan getting along 10 years later? In the Drama CD, it's only brought up alittle bit.
Morimoto: What's more, "Mutsuki," you slurred your words! (laughs)
Amano: I'm very curious. How about in Joe's mind? Do you go for it? Or…..
Hojo: Nozomi……I wonder if we're done.
Amano & Morimoto: What!!? You guys broke up?!
Tsubaki: Nozomi-chan...maybe she married someone else? (laughs) No, no, I'm just joking. What I left out just now, was foreshadowing for the next part.
Morimoto: You left it in!
Tsubaki: I'm sure that in the next part, Nozomi-chan will be in trouble, so Mutsuki, trying to save her, will finally transform into his Jack Form.
Amano: I don't think they (the scriptwriters) put that much though into it!!
-Because we understand each other's roles-
Morimoto: Hajime isn't the type to show his emotions, but during the recording, I was so emotional, that I actually started to cry.
Amano: It was the final scene. When we finished, I said, "This isn't it," and re-recorded it.
Morimoto: Yeah. If Hajime honestly expresses his feelings and becomes 100% human, that's where the story will end. But, after seeing Kenzaki for the first time in such a long time, the thought of never seeing him again made me so emotional. I though, "Hajime should act like this too," but then I realized, "maybe I'm being alittle too feminine." When I asked everyone about it, both Amano-kun and Hojo gave the advice of, "Definitely don't cry." The reason we can share our opinions like that is because we all understand our roles.
Amano: That's right. It's the same for me, I remember other people's roles more than my own.
Morimoto: In a way, it's like looking at it from the Director's point of view. A scene where I tell Amano-kun, "These are the only friends I can trust!," seems strange.
Amano: Now that you mention it, you were very quiet about it at first. But, that scene was also in the TV show, so when I asked Ryo-chan, "What were you doing before?," Ryo-chan remembered it well.
Morimoto: You said I was quite loud at that time
Amano: That's why we re-recorded it. Everyone remembers what Hajime was like, what Mutsuki was like, and what Kenzaki was like.
Tsubaki: When it comes to "that kind of thing" Kenzaki can only speak the "Ondul Language" right? (laughs).
(Everyone laughs)
Morimoto: For better or for worse, the image I have of Kenzaki has never changed. It was the same in the Drama CD. I remembered almost immediately that, "Kenzaki is just like this."
Tsubaki: "Like this," in a good way? (laughs).
Morimoto: Ofcourse. On the other hand, it would be strange if Kenzaki could speak as fluently as (Kenichi) Suzumura-san (laughs).
Tsubaki: Come to think of it, during the dub recording for "Super Hero Taisen," the staff members said, "We have high expectations" So when I asked them, "Which are you expecting?," they said, "Whichever!" Well, from the very beginning, I started chewing as I spoke, and they all started clapping……
Morimoto: You also chewed in the Drama CD (laughs).
Tsubaki: Yeah, I chewed on the first take. Then, a nerve struck in Amano-kun, and he said, "I can't take this anymore…."
Morimoto: Then he left (the recording room).
Hojo: When he came back, he kept laughing like this (he holds his hands over his mouth) (laughs).
Morimoto: It was insanity. I also laughed at the beginning exchange with Kenzaki. In the flashback scene of the main story, he says, "Hajime, you can continue to live among other humans!"
Tsubaki: It came out more, "You can continue to live among other humans….."* (laughs). It's because that scene once traumatized me. *(said slightly slurred towards the end)
Morimoto: Were you actually hurt or something?
Tsubaki: I don't know if it's because people think that my lines with Ondul elements are the correct ones. I was wondering which expectation I should meet, but in the end, I ended up going with Ondul.....
Amano: I was entertained by it though.
Hojo: Another new saying will be born (laughs).
Morimoto: That part of him is what Kenzaki's all about.
Tsubaki: Just so you know, I usually speak very normally. But Kenzaki, he's just different! (laughs)
-We're now eagerly awaiting to visualize it!-
Tsubaki: Thankfully, I heard that the number of pre-orders for the Drama CD exceeded expectations, and Blade, which was broadcast on "Nico Nico Douga" late last year, was also quite popular. So, if we can get a little more support from the fans, I think a video version may be possible.
Amano: I'm glad that we were able to do a Drama CD, and that we were able to appear in Super Hero Taisen with all four of us, but, we mainly did dubbing. Next time I want everyone to appear in a film. By the way, I've confirmed that all four suits of Blade, Chalice, Garren, and Leangle still exist (laughs).
(Everyone laughs)
Tsubaki: Leangle's Jack Form figure is also available!
Amano: No way! I never thought it would actually release….!
Hojo: Come to think of it, at the time of Missing Ace, Baki and Amano-kun lied to me by saying, "I heard Leangle gets his Jack Form……" (laughs)
Amano: Now that it's become a figure, the visualization will also become a reality! So, first of all, we need everyone to support the Drama CD and push for this visualization. It'll be difficult to do something like this in another 5 or 10 years!
Hojo: Kenzaki and Hajime will grow old (laughs).
Morimoto: I'll become a wrinkly Undead! (laughs)
Amano: The Undead don't age, which means we'd have to change the original setting……
Tsubaki: Then it should be within this year. The filming period will be from April to May, and the release will be around August.
Morimoto: That's way too specific! (laughs). If that's the case, we'll have to get a new cards made…..(laughs).
Tsubaki: Talking like this, there's no end to our desires. I still want to make it into a video!
Hojo: When that time comes, I'll come back from Nagoya!
Amano: That's good. I think an adaptation would be fine if Joe actually answered his phone (laughs).
Morimoto: I won't break my cell phone or say that the screen died (laughs). That much is important. But, this year is the anniversary of Blade……so I'd be happy if we could end this year on a good note.

The Same Sky and Moon and Stars
Happy Inukag Week!
I didn't realize it was InuKag week until now 😅
Not sure if this fits exactly with the prompts as it's more focused on Kagome's friends and family dealing with her returning to the past to be with Inuyasha, but I think it goes well with Day 1: Love Languages.
If it doesn't fit the prompts too well, please forgive me and ignore this 🙈 (Too nervous about tagging haha, what if it doesn't match the prompts well?)
I always wondered what Kagome's friends and family thought of her vanishing into the well, and how they dealt with her absence after years and years. This is my interpretation of how that might have been. I haven't seen more than a few clips of the sequel series yet and I am not too familiar with the storyline, but I saw a clip of Moroha hugging grandpa and maxing out Sota's credit card and I thought that was so cute. Please tell me what you think! :)
Summary:
"His family had gotten on well enough, knowing that his sweet, beautiful granddaughter was safe and happy in her new home, but even so, he could detect longing and anguish for her phantom presence. He knew better, though. She hadn't gone anywhere. She was right there with him, under the same blue sky."
Kagome, and the world she left behind. Post-series.
FFN / AO3
Be sure to come to Wac's at noon! Eri had told Kagome, beaming brilliantly. Then we can go to the arcade, and then we can watch a movie.
Finally.
After months and months of cram school and late nights studying, entrance exam torture and nervous breakdowns.
Finally.
They'd graduated.
Yuka would move all the way down south to Kyushu for college in a few months, and Ayumi would go straight north, north, north, right into the depths of the snowiest mountains. Eri would remain in Tokyo.
Kagome still hadn't said what she was planning to do after high school, but as her grades had somehow drastically improved three years ago soon after starting high school, Eri was certain that Kagome, too, had gotten into a prestigious institution.
She hadn't said where that was, but Eri was sure that she would spill the beans after a couple of burgers and milkshakes.
Truthfully, she was hoping that at least Kagome would stay in Tokyo with her. It would be lonely with Ayumi all the way in Aomori, and Yuka in Fukuoka. Notwithstanding her strange illnesses and absences back in the ninth grade, Kagome had been dependably the next desk over in class, sharing notes and lunches and smiles for years and years and years. Eri didn't want her to go too soon.
Noon became 12:15, and 12:15 became 12:25.
Eri ordered a heaping of fries, and Ayumi an extra-large milkshake.
Yuka had taken the liberty of ordering for Kagome the extra extra extra large burger that she liked, and tapped her foot impatiently. By 12:45, she had crinkled her brow in a blend of irritation and concern.
"You don't think she suddenly got sick again, do you?" Ayumi asked. "Hang on, I'll call her house."
She pulled out her brand-new Nokia flip that Ayumi's parents had gotten her as a graduation gift. (They would all color-coordinate their phones soon. Ayumi had insisted.)
"Yes, ojii-san, this is Ayumi. I'm calling to ask about...oh, really? He's back so suddenly? She's gone to meet him?...Well, tell her to come to Wac's soon, please, her burger is getting soggy."
She hung up, her face clearing, her brow smoothing, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"It's her delinquent boyfriend again! He's back from that three-year trip and he's gone to meet Kagome!"
Their table erupted in squeals and applause.
"So Kagome isn't in a long-distance relationship anymore!"
"Ooooh, this is way more interesting than college plans!"
"Think he's still not as good a match as Hojo-kun?"
"You think she's gonna bring him here? We need to check him out!"
"She better!"
One o'clock came and went.
Kagome still didn't come.
They shrugged their shoulders, not all that concerned. She and her boyfriend were all lovey-dovey. She was constantly getting piggyback rides from him and all. They had probably lost track of time after three years in a long-distance relationship.
Eri wrapped up the burger and dropped it off at the Higurashi house with a friendly, teasing note that Kagome would never read.
***
Five years had passed since high school graduation, and honestly, Ayumi was still a bit miffed at Kagome.
You would think that Kagome's best friends would be invited to her wedding. You would think that they wouldn't suddenly elope out of nowhere right after the last day of high school. Really, what were they thinking?
She'd been meaning to call for years now, hoping to give Kagome a piece of her mind. Kagome's mother had given her a phone number, but whenever Ayumi rang, there would only ever be a beep and a polite, robotic voice, telling her that the number was invalid and to please dial again.
***
"Mama, who's that?" her daughter asked one evening, pointing to a gaggle of smiling schoolgirls in Yuka's old, yellowing photo album.
"Hmm? Those are Eri-san and Ayumi-san. They settled down in Tokyo last year. You met them at that party, dear."
"No, mama, I mean this person."
Yuka rubbed her aging eyes and blinked.
Ah.
It had been decades, but something in her heart lurched even so.
"Well, that's Kagome-san. She was a good friend of mine in high school. Don't know what she's up to now. I haven't been in touch with her for years."
Every once in a while, she would call the Higurashi shrine and ask about Kagome, if she was busy, and if Eri and Ayumi were in town, if she might want to stop by at Wac's and take a selfie and a burger for nostalgia's sake.
Kagome never was home. Her mother would always sigh softly and say that Kagome was "abroad." Whichever country she was in now, the Higurashi family definitely didn't seem keen on telling her.
It was life, she supposed. You moved on.
Still, a part of her would close her eyes and drift back to sleepy, golden afternoons and biking back home, happy smiles, and rapid-fire discussions of Kagome's strange, delinquent boyfriend.
***
There used to be a girl he liked, back in high school. Higurashi, wasn't it?
She was quite beautiful, and though he had been happily married for thirty years now, her bright, smiling face crossed Hojo's mind sometimes.
She had fallen quite sick in the ninth grade. All sorts of strange illnesses. Economy class syndrome and swine flu and chicken pox and even a bite from a potentially rabid dog.
Yet through those bizarre and alarming-sounding ailments, Higurashi's face always seemed to glow. She certainly didn't have the look of a sick person. Hojo hoped that meant all the get-well cards and medicines he gave her had worked.
He'd gone to an all-boys school after that and didn't get to see her as much, but every few weeks, he would run into her on the street and she would always greet him with a nod and a smile. They'd even gone to the movies once or twice, but soon enough, Hojo could tell she never saw him as anything other than a classmate. He was dejected for a while, but soon enough recovered his good cheer, and was happy that she still enjoyed his friendship.
She'd vanished after that.
Just one day, out of the blue, he stopped seeing her around on the street. He supposed she had moved away for college and a job.
Was she doing all right now? Hojo hoped that, approaching late middle age as their generation was, that Higurashi was taking care of her fragile health.
He touched the missing button of his shirt and smiled.
It was true, he had been happily married for years and whatever romantic feelings he had for her had long since faded into the breeze. But he hoped that Higurashi would always have a bright, smiling face, wherever she was, enjoying good health long into old age.
She did say that they could be friends forever, and surely it wasn't wrong to wish his friend well.
***
Her scent faded from the house slowly and steadily.
First downstairs, then upstairs, from the kitchen and living room and eventually from the shrine grounds. Her room stopped smelling like her long, long ago.
She used to give him good ear scratches and let him lie on her chest. She filled his food bowl much more copiously than did her brother, and she was always ready with treats from the supermarket for him.
The memory of her face was fading at the edges. Buyo was getting on in years.
He'd never forget her scent, though. Fading though it was, it lingered at the well and at the foot of the huge, old tree.
Lately he would venture down there, down that well, hoping to catch a whiff of her distinctive scent. He'd always get stuck, and her brother would pull him out.
***
It didn't hurt when she wasn't at his high school graduation. It didn't even hurt when she wasn't at his wedding. Once she went into that well, she couldn't come back out.
He knew that. And he knew that nee-chan was happy over there with her new family and friends. He couldn't begrudge her happiness. It wasn't like she was walking home after school one day and vanished without a trace, in potential danger. He knew exactly where she was, on the other side of the well.
Sota knew that she loved him all the same, whether she was here in the present or in the Sengoku Jidai with his new brother-in-law.
But –
He turned to his left and caught a wrinkle on his mother's forehead, and he turned to the right and caught the slow shuffle of his grandfather's feet –
And suddenly his eyes blurred with crystal tears.
New family.
New friends.
They were all getting older and older, and she was already gone, new and ancient all at once, somewhere in the distant past, before any of them were even born.
***
The day she became a mother was the happiest day in her life.
The day she learned she was a grandmother was yet happier.
Her tears wet the earth and soaked into the roots of the Goshinboku, all the way to her daughter.
Thank you, Kagome.
***
Some of Kagome's friends were sad. Others were mad. His family had gotten on well enough, knowing that his sweet, beautiful granddaughter was safe and happy in her new home, but even so, he could detect longing and anguish for her phantom presence at the kitchen table, at the hospital, at the shrine entrance greeting visitors.
He knew better, though.
He rested his aching back against the tree and breathed deeply, sensing her peculiar power.
He wasn't worried. He didn't miss her. Why would he? She hadn't gone anywhere.
She was right there with him, under the same blue sky.
***
Kagome stilled, her palm against the tree.
A light night wind made the branches sway and rustle under the starry sky.
She could feel it.
Feel them.
Old family and new, all at once.
The tree always did have a special power.
She wrapped an arm around her sleeping husband and daughter and smiled.

Meanwhile, Eden was getting and opening his gift. A “gift” would arrive for one Nellie Yukimura. He was in his room when a knock was heard at the front door. Opening it, Nellie only found a package addressed to him on the doorstep along with a label that said CAUTION. Picking it up, Nellie noticed the package was somewhat heavy but brought it inside, set it on the counter, and began to open it.
Tumblr media
Inside the box was a sleeping white cat with a ribbon around its neck. Nellie gently reached to pet them. Now, who could have sent him a cat as a Christmas gift?
Tumblr media
Then suddenly, the white cat awoke, revealing its demonic red eyes. It let out a yawn, revealing its prehensile tongue horrifically covered in spikes. The cat, seeing Nellie, immediately jumped off from the counter and began to rub its head against his leg. Nellie, understandably a bit horrified, noticed a note attached to the ribbon around its neck and shakingly picked it, began to read it.
Yukimura,
If it is not for the fact that I was forced into doing this asinine event, I would do nothing this holiday season. However, since I am, enjoy your new cat. It shouldn't attack you as I’ve accustomed it to your scent, but I make no promises for anyone else.
– Dr. Hojo
After read the card Nellie looked at the "demon" cat and blinked walking to Eden's bedroom
"Edén"-he called his son who turned to him
"what's that dad?"-he asked and looked at the cat,his eyes opened and after he started to laugh
Nellie sighed with relief-"well... that's enoughly to know that's not another delusion"-he said, some minutes ago he had an schizophrebia episode and was relieved of that's not was another episode
"are from kanon-san from Shizuka"-explain the journalist and Eden nodded understanding,if the underground singer not remembered bad that's was the scientist who reminds him to his older brother,Aoba
Eden looked at his foster father like asking for permission, Nellie nodded and he stroked the cat that purring in Nellie's arms
"how we call him?"-the journalist asked to his son and Eden blinked pensative
"what do ya think of...bakeneko?"-he asked with his phone in hand and taking at photo, Nellie hummed smiling
"so...welcome home bakeneko chan"-he said and the cat purr peacefully

Standing just in front of the stairway that led to the Grimm and macabre building that belonged to Kanon Hojo, was a man in his late forties.
Under any normal circumstances, any person who had the gall to even approach the household would be dead or taken in for Kanon’s entertainment before they would make it through the door.
However…
The man in front of her bowed in an elegant, foreign manner. Lying on the ground him was a large present that was as tall as he was, wrapped in a strange manner and finished off with a shiny gold ribbon.
“Greetings, Kanon Hojo-san,” the man said. “Her Majesty the Queen Card wanted to wish you well on your special day today but was far too busy to do so. So I am here to deliver her present to you in her stead.”
“She also instructed me to relay this message to you: ‘Should you truly be the woman you’ve been made to be, surely, you will see beyond what is in front of you. And if you would be so kind, to take me up on a special, one of a kind offer I have for you. A special offer that you would not wish to refuse.’”
He bowed once more. “I’ll be on my way, then.”
Kanon, now fully paying attention, watched the man walk away as she crept down the stairs, where the present addressed to her was rested.
After tearing away the cloth that wrapped around her present, she peered inside.
Inside was a man in his mid to late twenties. Though his heart was still beating, he remained unconscious, his eyes wide as saucers and his body completely still. Carelessly placed on the man’s shirt was a note addressed to Kanon. Though the contents were typed out and not handwritten.
‘My dear Kanon Hojo, I would like for you to meet the man behind a series of cruel and barbaric serial killings for the past four months. The families of his twelve victims requested that the one behind the murders be dealt with immediately.”
“Surely, there is no better way to deal with such a dreadful being than to give them to someone who surely would know what to do with them, no? For the sake of the victims, do enjoy your new toy, my dear subject.”
“My my, someone was kind enough to give me a…thoughtful gift for my birthday,” Kanon smiled, the derangement clear to see in her eyes. She grabbed the man’s face, bringing him closer to her own. “Now then be a good specimen and don’t scream. It gets dreadfully boring hearing people beg for mercy.”
A Few Hours Later…
Reika and Sakura slowly approached Kanon’s “home” after they had gotten word that loud screaming could be heard from inside the dilapidated hospital. As they entered the building and grew closer to Kanon’s lab, they could hear Vivaldi’s 4 Seasons echoing through the building along with loud sobbing screams. Finally, entering the lab, Reika and Sakura saw what was causing the screaming at least.
Kanon was standing in front of her operating table, the same man she had been given as a gift strapped to it. He had been cut open from his sternum to his stomach without any anesthetic with Kanon elbow deep inside, ignoring his pleas for mercy as she pulled out an organ.
“Tch. Can’t you two see that I’m busy?” Kanon demanded as she heard Reika and Sakura enter her lab. Continuing to pull organ after organ out of the man’s abdomen, not even bothering to turn around to speak face to face to her teammates. Finally, having enough of the man’s excessive screaming, Kanon ripped out his heart, placing it on the table beside her.
“Well we were in the neighborhood when we heard screaming Kanon,” Reika drawled out, not at all bothered by the sight in front of her. “So we decided to pay our favorite mad scientist a visit.”
“Where did you even get him, Kanon?” Sakura questioned, pinching the bridge of her nose. “I swear if you plucked a random person off the street again…”
“If you must know, this was a gift.”
“A gift?”
“From who?”
“Minato’s Queen Card.” Kanon drawled out as she plucked the man's eyes out of his skull to place in a jar. “Surprisingly she has an offer for me, and I'm curious to hear what she has to say. The least I can do for such a lovely gift.”

What are some smaller or less known events in which a Maiko can participate? For example I saw on instagram 2 Maiko selling omamori at a shrine, and others giving water at a race , in the manga Maiko San chi no makanai San , Momohana and others participate at the jizo festival, do Maiko really attend this festival?
While I don't know of a jizo festival, there's plenty of smaller festivals/shrine rituals that geimaiko perform in. If you check out the Calendar of Events tab, anything that says "two maiko" or something along those lines then you've found one of those events. Some of those include the Gion Hojoe Festival, The Gion Kouta Festival, and the Nagashi Bina Festival ^^

I am pretty sure the Weiss's whole speech in dirge was recorded from Nero and Hojo due to collecting data and he did not care about Omega. Even in Opera Omnia he does never mention the Omega thing. Just a power that makes him strong.
yeah sorry! let me clarify what i meant.
weiss' speech is definitely a pre-recorded message, but given that it reappears during remake i feel it's just - kind of up in the air as to which of them says it? like we've got three different weisses running amok now.
(was it weiss, or was it it an early attempt at possession from ai!hojo? or now given the introduction of ai weiss it raises the question as to whether or not it was ai weiss being hacked by hojo and that's why that weiss has the flash forward because his data was what was used to make the speech ) i just wonder if it was meant to be something else. i truly don't think nero would be okay with hojo using his brother's image and constructing something from it, so ig it's possible that hojo is playing some really fucked up 5d chess by using ai!weiss to fuck with nero's head even harder.
but knowing them, and honestly even how it's kind of worded, it's also entirely possible that the dalmation duo decided that they were going to film a super edgy speech declaring their intention to wage war on shinra and the surface itself. like it's just vaguely worded enough that i could see that. and then it languished because a goddamn building fell on them and it ruined their christmas massacre plans. and then shinra fell in on itself.
it just falls into that same ???? when did this happen and for what purpose ??? nero did you really need to play this speech on all wavelengths and make your brother the most wanted man on gaia? and it slides back into the question of what the tsviet's overall plan and motivation was before, yknow............ a building fell on them and trapped them.
i have a lot of lingering questions. such as why weiss opted to act when he didn't have a plan to save himself. how did he plan to lead deepground once he was out? what we see of him as a character runs so weirdly counter to the speech that he gives. he kind of goes out of his way to spare people if he doesn't have to harm them and keeps his eyes locked firmly on deserving targets.
my best assumption again comes down to what little remains from online mode + some cut lines. like... nero being kept in absolutely abysmal conditions and seeming to be nearing his breaking point was probably a motivator, and the opportunity to get nero out presented itself and weiss took it without considering that nero is fucking insane and literally can't survive without him and can, would, and does spit in the face of his sacrifice to bring him back from death because he and lucrecia have those strong desperation parallels.
and the brothers of them just started playing hot potato with death.
anyway, tl;dr - i mostly say that i don't know for sure what weiss' intentions were because it's possible he got an elevator pitch of the plan (nero being like okay nii-san i've GOT A PLAN TO SAVE YOU and then not telling him shit about that plan beyond what he needs weiss to do to make it work because nero excels at lying by omission ) but i think hojo was the ultimate mastermind, nero was the fucking unhinged nightmare goblin desperate enough to make it work, and weiss was just along for the ride and is now wandering the final fantasy multiverse and is very concerned that nero is either very dead or is running around loose and has no babysitter.

---Keiwa was forcibly entered into the main Rider's chat, and coincidentally, Houtaro was kicked out of it...---
Emu: Hello, Keiwa-kun, looks like you're the visitor for the day in this chat.
Keiwa: Hojo-sensei!
Keiwa: This always happens a lot huh?
Shinnosuke: Pretty much. Just expect something to come at anyone's expense, either yours or someone you know.
Shoutaro: Especially from the Pink menace himself.
Tsukasa: Its Magenta! Ma-gen-ta!
Haruto: Oh shut up, its been pink, always.
Tsukasa: Now that I have everyone's attention...
Tsukasa: Tycoon.
Shinnosuke: Oh boy.
Keiwa: Please don't let it be bad...
Tsukasa: It's a good thing you didn't end up in this position when you got kidnapped huh?
Tumblr media
Eiji: Oi! Decade!
Emu: Di-kei-do.
Emu: I hope you remember, Houtaro-kun is in this chat.
Daiki: Natsumi here, I used Daiki's credentials to kick Hotarou out of this group chat temporarily.
Daiki: Tsukasa, If I wasn't busy patching up Yuusuke now, you would have been in a keeling 20times over with my family's secret technique.
Tsukasa: Thank you, Natsumikan.
Tsukasa: Besides, Tycoon's censoring code should work and not let Gotchard catch wind of this conversation
ikki: Keiwa?
Keiwa: ... *blushes in embarrassment*
Ace: Tycoon, what happened.
Tsukasa: Oh my Gaim!
Keiwa: I woke up when they were arguing how to keep me captive...
Keiwa: Aah mou! I'm not answering that question, I was fine when I forgot all about that time in my life!
Tsukasa: Oh, this is golden! Let's add in someone here.
Michinaga: What?
Tsukasa: Buffa, did you or did you not argue whether to put Tycoon in this situation?
Tumblr media
Michinaga: Haaaa?!
Ace: Buffa, answer the question.
Michinaga: We argued, Nadge Sparrow and Archimedel wanted to use him for Jamato experiments.
Michinaga: Beroba wanted to put him on display while everyone else fought.
Ace: And you?
Michinaga: I didn't vote for either of them.
Michinaga: Archimedel and Nadge-Sparrow could've used the blood that Tycoon spilled after he got defeated by the submerging Jamato.
Michinaga: It'd be too much work to display him like a trophy so I voted to put him in a cage.
Ace: How pretty logical.
Tsukasa: thank you for your input, Buffa.
Tsukasa: What do you think, Hakubi...
Sara: Excuse me, while I buy a bow and arrow to shoot some birds, maybe even some bulls.
Keiwa: Nee-chan?
Ikki: Keiwa?
Ace: Probably trying to convince Sara-san not to go through with the her plans.
Emu: it makes sense.
Ryotaro: I kept silent because I think Keiwa-kun can handle this, but as family, I do not like what you did to him, Tsukasa-san.
Wataru: Right, your sister married into the Sakurais... even if it was undone.
Ryotaro: I do not appreciate an attack on my family like that, Tsukasa-san.
Tsukasa: I wasn't attacking your family, Den-O.
Tsukasa: I was simply pointing out how lucky he was for not ending up like OOO in that TV special they made awhile back.
Keiwa:...
Keiwa: Onore Dickeido! I was fine forgetting everything that happened.
Keiwa: And you just had to wrestle those memories to the surface!
Keiwa: What's worse is that you involved my sister in this.
Keiwa: Listen here you pompous pink-clad menace, and listen closely.
Keiwa: If you take jabs at my expense, and involve my sister in them, you better pray to Gaim to Geats to Saber that I don't grab your pink camera, that you are too incompetent to operate and slice it to pieces and force feed them to your mouth wide open and then unravel your films and wrap them around your neck.
Emu: ...
Touma: ...
Shinnosuke: ...
Ryotaro: ...
Wataru: ...
Ikki: ...
Ace: ...
Ace: I'm getting the feeling that you held back in our fight, Tycoon.
Keiwa: What do you think, Ace? I had my sword sheathed after getting it the second time.
Emu: Onore Dickeido!
Shinji: Onore Dickeido!
Shinnosuke: Onore Dickeido!

Elliot's Thoughts on Shizuoka Division
Tumblr media
Kanon Hojo
"This woman... she's just like the one from Shinagawa. But... l-like Mina stated, she seems a bit more... unhinged. Like, something happened in her life that caused her to... lose what little s-sanity that she had left, and there's n-no way to reclaim it. I don't know what has happened to her, but... Yorii told me and Mina to not underestimate her. It w-w-was the first time in a long time I've seen him so serious. ...But then again, he does always g-get serious whenever the subject involves C-Chuohku..."
Reika Aichi
"I've heard of her. She's a rich socialite, which is kind of odd since I know that many socialites frequent Aoyama. But it seems she left there years before and relocated to Shizuoka. She seems nice, but Mina tells me to watch out for her, cause she's not all that she appears to be. I don't normally pay much attention to hearsay, but... I have heard some rumors about this woman that doesn't exactly make her seem all that benevolent. I don't know if they're true or not, but... well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see for myself."
Kito Sakura
Unlike the other two women, Elliot actually looks serious as he speaks of the Kito-gumi figurehead.
"I don't normally judge people before I've met them, but... I don't really care for this woman or what she does. I know she works as the leader of a Yakuza family, and I don't want anything to do with her. The reason? Because recently, on the news, it was reported that the police managed to arrest a group of individuals with ties to the Yakuza. Normally, that wouldn't do much to bother me. But... what the news revealed afterwards was that the Yakuza were involved in animal trafficking. They had captured more than a dozen exotic animals and were planning to sell that off to the highest bidders."
"When the news showed pictures of those animals and the conditions they were living in... I felt my heart literally crying. So suffice to say, I don't care for anyone who in the Yakuza. It's bad when you hurt other humans, but hurting animals is something I can't forgive or forget."
Silent Tragedy
"I get a bad feeling from all of these women. I suppose it only makes sense that they banded together, I guess. I mean, bad usually attracts more bad, so... yeah. I don't really mind Aichi-san, and Hojo-san... as long as I stay f-f-from her, I'll be fine. But Sakura-san... I don't like her, plain and simple. Like I said, anyone who does anything to harm animals is evil in my eyes. And she and other families that make money off of trafficking animals and selling them off... they are wrong, and don't deserve to exist."

nee-san is cool, but what about fluffy seph with a little-sis-like darling ?
Tumblr media
Always enjoy exploring different dynamics with Sephiroth~
Tumblr media
Similar to Zack and Angeal, this darling would have been introduced to Sephiroth through mentorship.
He wouldn't care much for her at first. Honestly, might even see her as a nuisance.
The Darling herself wasn't enthusiastic about him being her mentor. She wanted to be under Genesis' mentorship.
Sephiroth may've been everyone else's hero, but not HERS.
Spending time with people is bound to create emotions, and that's what will happen with Sephiroth and the darling.
They formed their bond out of obligation, even though Sephiroth disliked it.
He begins to respect her more when he observes how well she is absorbing his teachings.
He took a more active role in checking up on her after missions, personally asking her about her condition and well-being.
His concern for her well-being surprised her, as she had assumed he wouldn't care if anything happened to her.
Sephiroth would treat her to special training outings outside of Shinra HQ.
When she grows past a certain threshold, he plans to gift her a Masamune of her own, perfectly sized for her.
He's fiercely protective of his little sister mentee, so anyone trying to flirt with her or pursue a relationship is out of luck. No one is good enough for her.
He's especially protective of her around certain scientists like Hojo. Whenever she is around unsavory individuals, he positions himself as a protective wall for her if he can help it.
Even through his overprotectiveness is obvious, the darling remains oblivious to it and sees it as a typical Sephiroth behavior.
Despite his jealousy, Sephiroth cherishes her so much that he still gives her the chance to meet and interact with Genesis, whom she admires deeply.
For once, Sephiroth wishes to be someone's hero... and he hopes he can earn that title in her heart as they continue their journey.
Tumblr media
Aw, Sephiroth, you can't cling to her forever...

calling all ex-aid women, KILL
this is just sketching out some thoughts for an ex-aid roleswap au, where Poppy, Saki and Nico switch places with their kamen rider counterparts. i mostly made this up because i needed saki to transform into a dragon.
Kamen Rider Poppy: Karino Asuna, 25 year old CNS in Seito University Hospital’s first Nurse Practitioner certification program. A cheerful and capable nurse with a kind bedside manner by day, Asuna becomes Poppy Pipopapo by night, a household name in the Japanese rhythm gaming scene for her idol-esque fashion and unbeatable scores.
Asuna found solace in becoming Poppy after the loss of a long term patient who she was in care of daily care for. Asuna was in charge of her end of life care and thought that something wasn’t right but wasn’t able to help her, and was discouraged from finding out more about her death. It wasn’t until she was in charge of another patient who was presenting with the same symptoms, and when two men basically trip over her while she was searching for her runaway patient that she learned the truth of the Bugster virus.
Kamen Rider Hunter: Momose Saki, 26 year old attending surgeon at Seito University Hospital and current Cyber Rescue consultant. Saki is a good surgeon and a mainstay of the hospital, but others find it hard to work with her as she comes off as distant and stand-offish, speaking very little to her interns and residents.
Saki learned the truth of the Bugster virus after her ex-boyfriend Kagami Hiiro succumbed to it. He’d never told her he had been sick as she’d broken up with him shortly before he contracted it, and he thought he would be able to work through it. The last thing he ever said to her was to apologize that he’d never be the kind of doctor she’d wanted him to be. Saki takes her role as a Kamen Rider very seriously, and has been keeping up with any minor outbreaks of the virus since Zero Day very competently. She initially treats Asuna as a subordinate, as she feels like she should be the one bearing the burden of treating the threat as the sole full doctor of CR.
Kamen Rider Taunt: Saiba Nico, 18 year old medical intern and one of the few survivors of Zero Day. Nico is the beloved rookie of the hospital, once being a long term patient returning to do her internship with the doctor who took care of her. She has a long way to go with bedside manner.
At 13, Nico was at the top of competitive gaming in Japan, with sponsorship offers that made it very tempting to stop her schooling before entering high school despite her good grades. Then she contracted the Bugster virus, hospitalizing her and nearly killing her before Dr. Hanaya Taiga saved her life. His body was unable to keep up with the strain of being a Kamen Rider, and he became disabled. He deals with chronic pain that prevents him from working outside an administrative and teaching capacity, but he helped Nico through accelerated high school programs and college, letting her become the youngest intern at Seito University Hospital and the youngest CR consultant.
More notes:
Kuroto switches with his dad so he is in jail. His ultimate goal is still godhood but he’s much better at masking his god complex because he needed to survive in prison. He’s anti-capitalist because he hates his dad.
Kuroto wants godhood so he can bring back his mom from the Proto Gashats and create a world where he controls who lives and dies because they're all data. "I will not let anyone interfere with my eternal stage" etc (you all should watch revue starlight) He and Poppy face off about it and she has to kick him into accepting the nature of life and death.
Emu and Parado are the navigators! The game in CR is Mighty Brothers X. Parado is still Parado but Emu’s name is M, short for Meta. They were born of Patient Zero of the Bugster Virus, the son of the original creator of the virus. Their human names are Hojo Emu and Hojo Nazo because they’re married. Parado only responds to Hojo-san also because he is married.
Kiriya is an AI created by GENM corp to help CR but his data got corrupted by Kuroto right before he got arrested and he loves to act silly and lie. He also is like Bugster adjacent. They put him in Poppy’s bike. He brings Poppy to meet Kuroto by diverting her GPS on her day off and Dan Masamune bricks him in response, until he comes back <3 upgraded <3

I found the twitter account of one one Okita Mitsu’s descendants https://twitter.com/oki045/status/1259145304651083778?s=61&t=dgsv3BtuXS1AGH5aV7mp3A
Thanks for sharing this!
Okita Ikuo (沖田郁雄) is the great-great-grandson of Okita Mitsu. He actually really looks like that famous composite photo commonly mistaken for Souji 😅
Tumblr media Tumblr media
According to this article, he’s the current head of the Okita family. His father was Okita Tetsuya (沖田哲也), a scholar of public administration, emeritus professor at the Faculty of Political Science and Economics at Meiji University, and Director of the Center for lnternational Programs (1, 2) focusing on Canadian Studies, who passed away in November 2000 (obituary).
From a quick Google search, according to Linkedin, Okita Ikuo works as a private secretary at the House of Councillors. After seeing other photos of him on his Instagram and Facebook, I think he kind of looks like these 2 possible photos of Okita Souji 😅
Here's what I learned from his tweets about the Shinsengumi:
He donated a photo of Okita Mitsu to the Shinsengumi Hometown History Museum in Hino. (source). “I wondered if I could have sent Mitsu back to her hometown. I don't really know if Hino was her true hometown, but at least she returned to the place where she spent time with Souji.” (source)
“There are no photographs or portraits of Souji.” (source)
“According to the scraps of lore passed down in the Okita family. Mitsu liked to gather people and have banquets. It's said that she gathered the "continental ronin" [T/N: Japanese who lived, traveled and conducted political activities in continental Asia from the early Meiji period to the end of World War II, in other words, colonists] at her son's house in Dalian and took care of them. Well, Souji was also helped by Yagi-san and other caretakers, so maybe she was paying it forward for their kindness to her brother. It's interesting to think about it.” (source)
Okita Souji was also fully-licensed at the Chiba Dojo. (source)
Okita Souji was a tall man for his time. (source)
It's been handed down in the Okita family that Souji used to slay people right after smiling and laughing in his daily life. (source)
“Inoue Genzaburo was not a good-natured uncle like he’s often portrayed in dramas. He was a staunch swordsman like a warrior from the Warring States period.” (source)
He confirmed that Okita was at Ikedaya according to the information passed down in his family (source)
“Kondo Isami vaguely dreamed that Hijikata Toshizo would reach Goryokaku and that the peasants and local samurai of Tama would decide the fate of the country. Ryoma acted early on with the awareness that commoners would become involved in politics. It was an awareness that Souji couldn't reach.” (source)
As a descendant of the Shinsengumi, he is deeply offended by the presence of Yasukuni shrine [T/N: this is the WW2 war criminal shrine, also enshrined members of the anti-Shogunate side who died during the Bakumatsu] for insulting and defaming the Shinsengumi. He believes State Shintoism is the pinnacle of cowardice for taking advantage of the fact that ordinary people would not sue (source). He would never visit Yasukuni because he’s a descendant of the opposing side, he’s Christian, he believes it would be better to thank those who had a higher mortality rate than the soldiers, such as transport crews, and he couldn’t forgive the suicide attackers. (source)
In the past, the Shinsengumi were portrayed as villains and didn't play a big role. Thanks to Shiba Ryotaro's novels, they became popular. He’s grateful as a descendant of the Shinsengumi. (source)
The families of the core members of the Shinsengumi were not descendants of Takeda Shingen's surviving vassals, rather vassals of Hojo. (source)
“As a descendant of the Shinsengumi, it is a family motto handed down from ancestors to beat off the "patriots" of the Meiji Restoration.” (source)
“Why does the Okita family, who is based in Tama, live in Tsurumi, Yokohama? That's because Tsurumi used to be a part of Tama.” (source)
“The Shinsengumi was a group of young people. I'm sure there were some serious historical dramas, but it couldn't have been without romantic elements.” He supports the idea of love stories involving Shinsengumi, and said this in response to someone making music for a romance novel series about the Shinsengumi (source)
Okita Souji’s descendants could visit his grave any time (source). For everyone else, it’s only open on the anniversary of his death. (source)
