She was technically born a witch but she had no ability to use witchcraft naturally no matter how hard she tried.
She was disowned by her mother because of this at the age of 12, and raised in Meteli by her Aunt Sophia.
While in Meteli, she met Castor, an older boy interested in learning magick, despite not having the natural ability. As they got older, they learned more and more about magicks, witchcraft, and runes. Sasha decided to become a mage, to tattoo herself with runes in order to gift herself with the ability to use witchcraft, like she believed she was owed. Castor… did his own thing.
When she become a guard, she’d use her mage craft in order to protect Meteli and her Lord Jo.
She is a very skilled potions maker, one of the best in Ru’Aun.
She’s albino.
When she became a Shadoa Knight, her scars from the lava covered her entire body. In fact, they still do. But she uses magick to cover them up. She feels like they make her look weak, even though it’s quite the opposite.
For a long time, she fully believed the lies that Gene implanted in her head. That her people left her to die, that they abandoned her. That was until she met Eseryt. Being a siren with perception magicks, Gene could not tamper with her memory no matter how hard he tried. Eseryt helped Sasha to see what he had truly done, and that her memories were not her own.
Finally, she decided she’d had enough. She’d been a puppet for Gene and the Shadow Lord long enough. She secretly joined the Blue Flame and fought along side them during the final battle.
the shadow knights get to be set on fire when they're angry, as a treat.
gene, shouting something or other and as he gets progressively more frustrated sparks start shining in his eyes, he looks to the sky and embers from his irises set his hair a flame. no one knows what he is.
zenix, with no idea how his new emotions work, is blinded by overwhelming anger and as he tries to process this his thoughts are taken over by flame, as are his hands as he waves them without thinking, and he does not know where it's coming from or how to stop it.
sasha, who knew what she did and knew what anger does to what she's become and chooses to suppress it all she can, and instead as she cries she feels fire on her face, a fire that no longer burns her. looking in a shard of mirror, she sees ash dripping down her face as what would be tears burns where she rests before consuming her in a freezing agony.
laurance, who's anger has always been a part of him especially as he grew, tired of minor conviencies and emotions doesn't allow them to break free, until one moment sticks. it sticks in the armor he builds for himself and it cracks more and deeper into him until he shouts, screams, no words coming out as bone crushing grief and anger consumes him, and all of him becomes a part of a bigger hearth.
Breaking my consistency all month to tell u I am just posting this to show I did the whole challenge!!! And this originally had 9 girlies, and I will properly finish it later
I feel like sometimes the depth and backstories from characters are overlooked due to them being hot.
Lucinda and Sasha are great examples of this. Two absolutely stunning women, but I feel like in turn their complexities get overlooked.
In mcd, Sasha isn't just "women's wrongs" and a hot goth girlboss. She is someone who has her memories messed up. And is made to believe her childhood friends betrayed her. Yet she still cares about them deep down regardless. She cares so deeply about Kenmur that she would rather see him be happy with someone else. We know she believes Laurance betrayed her, yet she is still kind to him and still defends him when she believes Aphmau to have left him. She seems to care deeply about her fellow shadowknights, as she thinks they took her in after her long-term friends left her to die. Seen by how upset she got over Zenix killing them, the way she was upset was personal because those were her friends that he killed.
Lucinda isn't just hot, beautiful, stunning, and gorgeous. She is someone who faces prejudices because of her witchcraft. And has a strong moral code because of this, way too often have I seen people claim Lucinda would kill someone or would do any other romanticised morally dubious thing. Just because she is hot and cool. She also has family problems. Her dad rules a village that hates witchcraft users. And she has some problems with her mother too, considering she left her mom when she was 10. When she sees her again, Lucinda attacks her and says she wants nothing to do with her.
“That was the moment when I saw the kind-hearted boy under all the dirt. He just needed some love to bring him out.”
To be loved is to be changed.
Laurance finally understood it then.
And he understood it even more now.
