I couldn't stop thinking about the newest chapter and I just had to start drawing this scene.

Not gonna lie, this is probably the best drawing of light effects I have done so far, I am very happy with this! although I'm not sure about the rest of the drawing (it feels almost too cluttered)

btw cave's eyes are static. but it doesn't show up very well

(side notes: I tried doing some other effects but I couldn't get the plugin in krita to work. I also planned to have a glitched out cave with the jumpsuit and portal gun looking angry but I felt it wouldn't fit without it being confusing. Still have the drawing tho)

i love reading obscure books bc i have a terrible terrible adhd problem where i will get bored* with a book & google a synopsis before finishing it but with books nobodies read... there is no synopsis... and i must experience the novél as it is meant to be experienced

anyway if anybody's read the luminous dead i had a different question but having just typed out the title is the lichen people? is the glowing lichen & mushrooms gyre's been seeing people? original question: i am only 37% through this book so im not treating this Q as spoilers but is Em feeding people to this cave? are her schrodinger's parents alive down here but surprise: they're cannibals!

*not like "this book is boring" bored but like "this book isnt happening Fast Enough" bored despite reading speed being entirely under my discretion

Don't remember if I ever asked you or if anyone has asked you yet but what was your main inspiration behind SC?

I think I mainly wanted to put Cave in a situation (as one does with favorite characters), but I think some art by @the-dangerous-mute-lunatic was something that really made me decide to make a fic about Cave doing the testing for a change. But also… major fic spoilers below the cut

I also thought hmmm. Being a test subject is dangerous, he could very well die from this. Solution? Spares!
