i'm gonna start being mean. if you have enough understanding for katniss's depression then how are you calling katniss's mom selfish for her response to her husband's death. you do understand what catatonic depression is right? you understand that she didn't purposely abandon her children?

As You Wish, Chapter 6
Tumblr media
Summary: When arriving at Camp Silver Star, Abby Floyd was anticipating a summer of adventure with an ocean separating her from the three people she loved most: her mom, her Uncle Bob and her Aunt Natasha. But after a run in with Charlie Seresin, an extremely familiar looking and irritating camper in a different cabin, her summer plans take a turn that neither girl ever could have expected.
Potential Trigger Warnings: reader's children are described as being blond with green eyes because genetics are wild and Jake's genes are strong, reader is canonically Bob's sister (but biological relation is never discussed), reader goes by Buttercup and is tattooed, angst, sadness, reference to divorce, kids doing sneaky things, references to babies, swearing, references to the hospital

Sharp Memorial Hospital, almost 12 years ago
The skies were painted shades of lilac and rose, golden hues dancing just above the horizon as the sun played peekaboo with the clouds, not quite willing to give up the daylight just yet. Jake watched through the small window in the private hospital room, two small, warm weights resting against his bare chest. His wife of less than a year slept soundly in the uncomfortable hospital bed next to him.
Bob and Natasha had left a few hours before to get dinner, the WSO arriving the second he was invited to meet his new nieces, his partner following close behind. The two were never far from each other, and Jake knew that they preferred it that way.
“Knock, knock…”
Jake looked up and immediately rolled his eyes. Under his arms, Javy had two massive teddy bears, one pink and one purple. Behind him, Rooster stood with a bundle of balloons, looking like he’d rather be holding anything else.
“Hey fellas,” Jake whispered.
“Jesus, Hangman, don’t you ever put on a shirt?” Rooster scoffed playfully.
“It’s called skin to skin contact, dipshit. It’s supposed to be good for them,” he retorted, shifting Abby (or was it Charlie?) in his arms as she cooed softly.
“Easy with the language there, papa bear,” Javy laughed, depositing the two bears beside the side table and moving to stand behind Jake’s chair. “You’re gonna have to watch the swearing with these two little angels around.”
Jake chuckled softly. “Yeah, I know. Buttercup’s already given me sh—lip for it.”
“That’s why I love that girl,” Rooster nodded. “She knows how to keep Bagman in line.”
“Just for that, Javy gets to hold them first,” Jake cocked an eyebrow at his friend and rival.
“But there’s two of ‘em,” Rooster complained. “Why should I have to wait?”
“Because I’m his best friend? Because you can’t keep your mouth shut? Because I’m superior in every way?” Javy laughed, tugging the other chair in the room over and plopping down. “Alright, little ladies, come to Uncle Javy!”
“Better pick just one, or the Prodigal Son over there is gonna start pouting,” Jake smirked in Rooster’s direction, cradling his daughters closer when he flipped him off. “I can give you neither of them,” he reminded.
Rooster huffed. “Fine. Just gimme.”
Jake handed Charlie (it was definitely Charlie, he remembered now: Charlie was on his left side because her name has an L in it) over to Javy, who immediately started cooing at the infant as he cradled her head in his big hand.
“Hey there, girlie,” he whispered to the sleeping infant. “I’m your Uncle Javy, and we are gonna drive your old man nuts together. You just wait until you’re a little older and I’ll teach you all the different ways to make the vein in his forehead pop.”
“I regret everything,” Jake muttered, handing Abby over to Rooster. “Watch her head, man. Hold her like a football.”
“I know how to hold a baby, Bagman,” Rooster gripped, looking slightly awkward as he cradled the newborn.
“Coulda fooled me,” Jake returned, standing with a groan and pulling his shirt on. “Don’t hold her like you’re afraid of her, dumbass.”
“Dude, she’s like…fresh,” Rooster grumbled, tucking Abby a little closer to his body. “I’ve never held anything this new before.”
“You get used to it,” a quiet voice yawned behind them.
“Hey mama,” Jake grinned, swooping down to kiss his wife’s forehead. “How you feeling?”
Buttercup groaned and stretched, her joints popping. “Like I just went through 27 hours of labor and pushed two of your giant kids out of a 10-centimeter hole in my body?”
Javy shuddered. “A little graphic, Buttercup.”
“A little accurate, Coyote,” she shot back, leaning down to fiddle with the controls of her bed, raising herself higher. “Anyhow, its time for me to try feeding them again. And, before you ask, no. You’re not allowed to watch,” she glared playfully at Javy and Rooster.
“We have to go?” Javy pouted but handed Charlie back to Jake to deposit in his wife’s arms.
“Sorry, man,” Jake grinned. “But whatever she says, goes. I won’t be arguing with her for a long time after what she just went through.”
Buttercup smiled at him, exhaustion shining in her eyes as she accepted her daughter into her arms. “Thanks, baby,” she whispered. “Rooster? Can we get Abby back please?”
Jake turned to see Rooster standing stock still as he stared down at the sleeping baby. “Do…do I have to?” he whispered.
Jake chuckled. “Who woulda thought that it would only take my daughter to shut down Bradshaw’s attitude?”
Rooster shot him a glare as he handed Abby over to her father. “I’m with Javy…I’m gonna enjoy working with these two to turn that blond hair grey.”
“Sure, Rooster,” Jake laughed, cradling Abby to his chest as he waved them off. “Whatever you say.”

Clifton, Texas, Now
Bright sunlight streamed in through the small gap in the purple curtains, slicing across Abby’s face as she yawned and stretched before sitting up.
It took her a moment to remember where she was. The furniture in her bedroom was supposed to be walnut, not grey. Her window was certainly not east facing, and she did not have that many plaid shirts hanging in her closet. It was only when she heard Rooster’s heavy footsteps above her that she remembered. She was home, technically. Home in Texas, with her father and her uncles, as she had been for the past few days.
Abby’s cheeks ached as a wide smile tugged at her lips. The last few days had been so wonderful. Her dad was everything she ever could have dreamed and more. She’d spent the previous day just hanging out with him in the ranch office, eating sandwiches that Rooster had made for lunch and making each other laugh. The day before that, she’d tagged along with her dad to one of Javy’s football practices. She may not completely understand football yet, but she’d had a great time watching her dad and Javy coach the team of high school players. Every night, she hung out in the kitchen with Rooster, helping him make dinner and prep lunches for the ranch staff and the guests staying in the cabins. Each day had been better than the last, and she couldn’t wait to see how the rest of the week played out.
That day, she knew, would be the best day of all. Her dad had promised to take her out on a trail ride through the forest that bordered one side of the property. He had said that he had something important to talk to her about, and that phrase had sent her heart racing. She didn’t think that he knew about the swap (mostly because Charlie had reassured her in a late-night call that nothing about her dad’s behaviour seemed out of place), but she wondered if maybe he would tell her about her mom and sister. Maybe he was going to share the news that she and Charlie had been waiting to hear from their parents.
Anxious to hear whatever it was that her dad needed to talk to her about, Abby raced to get ready and made her way downstairs, only pausing when she heard an unfamiliar voice in the kitchen.
“But sugar…”
“I know, baby, I’m sorry. But I promised that I’d take Charlie out on a ride today, and I swear, I’m going to tell her today.”
“That’s what you said yesterday. And the day before that. And the day before that,” a high pitched, southern drawl responded, and Abby poked her head around the corner to sneak a peek at whoever was speaking. All she could see was her father, his hands cradling the hips of a tiny woman with bleach blond hair and painted on blue jeans.
“I know, baby,” Jake sighed. “I planned on telling her last night, but she passed out early. And I was definitely going to tell her about you the day before that, but Javy waylaid me and invited us to football practice. Rooster’s been keeping her busy in the kitchen after work too, so it’s been hard to get a moment alone with her.”
“Hard to get a moment alone with your own daughter? In your own house? On your own property?” The pout was clear in the woman’s voice.
“Savannah, don’t start,” Jake sighed again, removing his hands from her hips and turning. Abby pulled her head back around the corner before he could spot her. “You know that Rooster, Javy, and I own the place together. And she’s known them since she was born, so they’re as entitled to spend time with her as I am, especially when she wants to spend time with them.”
“I’m sorry, sugar. I’m just so excited for her to know.”
“I know, baby. Me too. I’ll tell her today, I promise.”
Abby poked her head back around the corner in time to see Jake kiss Savannah, and she felt her heart sink.
Turning on her heel, her feet pounded up the stairs and she launched herself onto her bed, scrambling for her cell phone.
A: Does dad have a girlfriend?
The answer came almost immediately.
C: LOL no he’s got no game
C: Why??? 👀
A: Because there’s a random blond lady hanging out in the kitchen and he’s calling her baby
C: You sure it’s him and not Rooster?
C: Uncle Roo has lots of hookups 🤢
A: Pretty sure I know what he looks like, thanks 🙄
C: You didn’t until a couple of weeks ago, smartypants
A: Thanks for the reminder
A: Are you sure he doesn’t have a girlfriend?
A: He wants to talk to me about something
A: What if it’s her?
A: Charlie?
C: Sorry, gotta go! Mom’s taking me to one of her book signings, and then we’re going to dinner and a show! Good luck!
Abby threw her phone onto the mattress and groaned, watching it bounce.
“Super helpful, sis…” she muttered, burying her head in her hands.
Her dad wanted to talk to her about something, and that something seemed to be a pretty, tiny woman with a grating voice. And, for all of Charlie’s reassurance, they had seemed pretty friendly and familiar with each other in the kitchen. The memory made her stomach churn.
What if he wanted to tell her that he was dating this Savannah lady? What would that do to their plan to make their parents see each other again? They had always known that their parents getting back together was a long shot, but they had hoped. And what if Savannah didn’t want her dad to change the current custody arrangement? What would they do then?
Abby felt her heart crack a little in her chest. She couldn’t imagine going back to the way things had been before, not now that she’d gotten a chance to love her dad and be loved by him in return. Not now that she’d gotten to cook with Rooster and coach with Javy and watch the three men barbecue while she swam in the pool. It was both fresh and familiar, terrifyingly new and heartwarmingly recognizable. She couldn’t go back to live in London, no matter how much she loved it, not when she knew that Seresin Ranch was waiting for her in Texas.
But what if her dad decided that he wanted Savannah more than he wanted her? It would be too much for her to bear.
Abby shook her head. No. That wouldn’t happen. No matter what happened, or why their mom decided to take her, and their dad decided to take Charlie, her dad loved her. She knew that as surely as she knew her own name. Once her dad found out that it was her, not Charlie, he’d want to make sure he saw them both an equal amount of time. He just had to.
A playful knock sounded against her door and her dad stuck his head inside.
“Hey, punk,” he grinned, the lines around his eyes and mouth deepening into crevices that spoke of a lifetime of joy. “You ready to go?”
She grinned back at him, the burden on her heart lifting instantly. Her dad loved her. If she was sure of anything at all, it was of that.
“Yeah, dad. I’m ready.”
Tumblr media
Her backpack weighed down with sandwiches, apples, carrots, and enough water to feed a small army, Abby trekked into the stable, where Charlie’s paint mare, Lovebug, was standing, already tacked up. Her dad’s horse, a large grey gelding named Firewall, stood behind her as Jake finished cinching up his saddle.
“Hey, Charlie-girl, you all ready?” he called out, patting Firewall’s flank.
“Yeah, dad. Just give me a second!”
“More than a second, you two,” Rooster called, strolling in behind her. “Dude, there’s an issue with the AC unit in cabin 5. You want me to handle it like normal?”
“Cabin 5? You mean the same cabin that’s been giving us holy hell since they got here?”
Rooster nodded, a large hand reaching out to ruffle her braided hair as he passed her. “That’s the one.”
Jake sighed and rubbed at his forehead under the brim of his white cowboy hat. “Nah, shoot Toni a text and let her know to head in there and double check it. If there’s no issue, she can read them the riot act about wasting our time.”
Rooster grinned. “I wish I could be a fly on the wall for that conversation.”
Abby tuned out their conversation as she slowly approached Lovebug. According to Charlie, the mare was an easy ride, but loyal as all get out to Charlie, never allowing anyone else to mount her. Charlie had gotten her as a gift for her fifth birthday and the mare hadn’t allowed another rider since. Hopefully she looked and smelled enough like Charlie to be able to fool the mare.
“Hey Lovey…” Abby murmured; her eyes lowered as she held one hand out for the mare to sniff. “Easy girl…please let this work…”
The mare’s eyes widened, and her nostrils flared as she anxiously pawed at the soft stable floors and whinnied, tossing her head back and retreating as far as she could, almost bumping Firewall.
“Whoa!”
“What the hell?”
Jake grabbed Firewall’s reins as he surged backwards to grab Firewall’s reins before he could retreat too far. Rooster leapt forward to grab Lovebug’s reins, easing her head down and petting her muzzle gently.
“Charlie, are you okay?” Jake called, clipping Firewall onto a long lead attached to the wall so he wouldn’t wander.
“Y-yeah…I’m okay,” Abby replied softly as her heart sank. She’d known that tricking Charlie’s horse was going to be one of the more difficult parts of their plan, but she’d never thought that the horse would react like that to her. If she couldn’t get Lovebug on her side, their plan was as good as done.
Rooster clipped Lovebug onto the wall and stared between horse and would-be rider curiously. “I’ve never seen her react to you that way before, kid. Anyone else, sure. But not you.”
“M-maybe she smells Champ on me,” she offered weakly, remembering how Charlie had taken a shine to the palomino at camp. “I…I don’t think I’ve washed this shirt since coming back from camp.”
Jake approached, cautiously patting Lovebug on her withers as he passed her. “Could be. Six weeks is also a long time for her not to see you. Maybe she’s trying to readjust. She’s always been a sensitive horse. Here…let’s try again.”
Calmly, Jake took Abby’s hand in his and slowly approached the mare, extending their hands for her to smell. Cramming her other hand in her pocket, Abby anxiously crossed her fingers and held her breath.
With a twitch and a nervous tapping on the floor, Lovebug extended her graceful neck and sniffed the tips of Abby’s fingers. After a tense minute, Lovebug released a long, almost weary sigh and nibbled on Abby’s fingertips with her velvety lips.
“There,” Jake said happily, releasing Abby after gently squeezing her shoulder. “She just needed a minute to forgive you for leaving her for six weeks.”
“Yeah…” Rooster murmured, staring at Abby and Lovebug with a piercing gaze. “I guess that’s it.”
“Thanks for the assist, Rooster,” Jake called over his shoulder, unclipping Firewall and leading him out into the bright sunlight. “We’ll see you around noon, alright?”
“Bye Uncle Roo,” Abby waved timidly, all too aware of the way his heavy gaze rested on her.
Tumblr media
The green grass swayed in the cool summer breeze as the horses strolled among the trees, birds singing a sweet song as they flitted from branch to branch.
Everything was perfect…or it would have been if not for the burden on Abby’s mind. The image of her dad kissing that blond lady was running through her mind on a loop, burning itself behind her retinas, churning the scarce remains of her breakfast in her stomach.
“You okay over there, Charlie girl?”
Abby glanced quickly at her dad before turning her eyes back down to the pommel of her saddle. She’d been grateful that the trail was wide enough to ride side by side when they’d set out, but now she was wishing that it was narrower.
“Yeah,” she sighed quietly. “Why?”
“You’re never this quiet on a trail ride. Usually, you’re talking my ear off about something or another. That’s kinda why I wanted to go on this ride with you. Rooster and Javy have kind of been monopolizing your time since you got back from camp. I wanted some daddy-daughter time before you go back to school and realize how uncool your old man is.”
“I thought you said you were always cool,” she sniffed.
“Oh, I am,” Jake grinned at her. “I’m very cool. But 12-year-old girls don’t always recognize that.”
“I’m not 12 yet,” she mumbled.
“Trust me, I know and I’m very grateful for that. You turning 12…” Jake sighed. “I can feel the grey hair popping up.”
When she didn’t laugh at his joke, they lapsed into silence. All that had happened that morning had left a sour taste in her mouth and, try as she might, she couldn’t seem to shake it.
It’s not that she didn’t want her dad to be happy. She did, just like she’d always wanted her mom to be happy. But she couldn’t help feeling like she’d just gotten her dad back, that her dad owed it to her and Charlie to give their mom a chance. They deserved to be a family, especially after the almost 12 years of not even knowing about the very existence of the other half of their family.
“Do you remember the day I was born?” she asked suddenly, looking over at him.
“Of course I do, darlin’. Hard to forget the best day of my life.”
“Then you remember my mom?”
Jake reined Firewall in sharply, urging his horse to a stop as he stared at her. “Charlie, of course I do. Where is this coming from?”
“You never talk about her,” she replied simply. “I’m almost 12, dad. I think I deserve to know about the woman who gave birth to me.” She watched as his Adam’s apple worked in his throat, his eyes skimming over the terrain, the sky, anywhere but over in her direction. “What, was she not a good person? A one-night stand? What?” she pushed, knowing none of it was true but the image of Savannah dancing in her mind was turning her anxiousness into anger.
“Charlie, your mom…” Jake sighed, his free hand rubbing at his eyes under the brim of his Stetson as he lapsed back into silence. Abby clenched the reins in her hand tightly as the silence dragged on, but she refused to push. Even though it had only been a few days, she knew Jake well enough to know that he would fight back when he felt cornered. It was the military man inside him, the pilot who knew how to stay on objective, and if his objective was to keep his daughter in the dark, Abby knew that not even God himself would be able to convince Jake to change directive.
After what felt like hours, she peeked over at her father to find him staring down at the reins in his hand as he chewed on the inside of his cheek. He looked…old. Now, Jake Seresin rarely looked his age; the deepening lines near his mouth and eyes, and the sparse sparkle of grey that decorated his thick hair and trim beard like tinsel being the only things that really gave the impression that Jake Seresin was anything other than eternally young. Charlie had shown her photos of her father in his flight suit, in his dress whites, in his khaki uniform, and the man in front of her looked like a shadow of that man. He wore no confident smile, no cocky raised eyebrow, no green eyes sparkling with a challenge. He just looked…sad, and Abby felt the last smoldering ashes of her anger sizzle out.
Reaching out carefully, she grabbed her dad’s wrist, and he looked up in surprise, like he’d forgotten she was there.
“Never mind,” she whispered. “I…I’m sorry.”
Before her eyes, her father transformed, building a cocky smile and heaving it into place. “Don’t be sorry, punk. You’re allowed to be interested in your mom. But right now, all you need to know is that she loved you something fierce and that things between me and her just…didn’t work out. Boring adult stuff that you don’t need to worry about, alright?”
Abby sighed. “Alright. Thanks, dad.”
And suddenly, he looked like he was on the right side of ageless again, flipping his grip to squeeze her hand. “Hey…I know I should tell you about her, and I promise I will eventually because you deserve to know. But for now, don’t worry about it, okay?”
“Okay. Thank you.”
He squeezed her hand once more before releasing it and urging Firewall forward, Lovebug following suit easily.
“There is something we do need to talk about though,” Jake added in a quiet voice as they crested the ridge they were climbing and came to a beautiful lookout, the ranch and all its grounds laid out below them.
Abby’s blood froze in her veins even as the sun shone down upon them, and the memory of the conversation in the kitchen hit her full force. Savannah had been pushing her dad to talk to her about something, something important, something that left a dark feeling in the pit of her stomach.
“I’ve been meaning to talk to you about it since you got home, but you’re a pretty popular kid around here.” Jake sighed. “Listen, Charlie girl, you know you’ll always be my girl, but…I mean, it happened pretty quickly, so it’s not like I meant to keep it from you…I just…”
Blinking against the harsh sunlight, Abby zeroed in on a truck just pulling into the ranch and the words flew out of her mouth before she could stop them.
“Uncle Javy’s back from practice! Race you to him!”
Before Jake could react, Abby kicked Lovebug into action and the mare surged forward, following the steadily declining path down the ridge back to the ranch.
“Charlie!”
She could hear the rapid hoofbeats of Firewall as he galloped after them, but she didn’t slow or turn to look where her father was. Ducking low on Lovebug’s neck, she urged the mare even faster, half wishing she could run her all the way back to London and her mother’s loving arms. She had been so deliriously happy the past few days, getting to know Seresin Ranch and the men who ran it, the men who were her family by birth. But now, with this Savannah person encroaching on her newfound happiness, she found that she missed her home more than ever. She wanted both worlds, Texas and London, her mom and her dad, and she didn’t want to share it with anyone but Charlie.
So, they ran, each hoofbeat bringing her closer and closer to the sanctuary she had come to call home.
After years of ranch living, Lovebug seemed to know the unwritten rules of the land and slowed to a canter, then a trot, and finally to a walk as they passed by the paddocks and came to a stop beside a red truck branded with the Seresin Ranch logo, Javy pulling a gym bag from the bed as they finally came to a stop.
“Whoa, girlie! Where’s the fire?” Javy exclaimed as she dismounted and bounced towards him, all too aware of the cantering hoofbeats following her.
“Nothing, Javy! How was practice? Do you need a hand with your bag? Do—”
“Charlotte Delta Seresin, what the hell was that?” Jake huffed as he hopped down from Firewall.
Abby felt herself flush. “I…I saw Javy, and—”
“I know, but I was trying to talk to you!” Jake sighed, handing Firewall’s reins to a ranch hand who had scurried out of the stable. “I’ve been trying to talk to you since you got home, but we keep getting interrupted. Baby, this is important.”
Javy groaned. “Jake, man, I told you that—”
“Coyote, all due respect, I’ve heard your opinion on the matter, but this is between me and my daughter,” Jake shot a look at his wingman, a look that clearly told Javy to stay out of it, but Javy refused.
“I know, man, but—”
“What on earth is goin’ on out here?” a sugary sweet voice called from the back door of the ranch house, and Abby watched as both her father and Javy bit back a groan.
“Can’t a man have five minutes of privacy around here?” she heard Jake mutter to himself before turning and pasting a wide smile onto his face. “Nothing, Savannah. I was just trying to talk to Charlie when she spotted Javy.”
“You mean you still haven’t talked to her?” Savannah pouted as she crossed the yard to stand a few feet away from them. “Sugar, you promised…”
Abby bit back a giggle as Javy rolled his eyes behind her back.
“Savannah, I know I promised, but this is a delicate situation and I want to ease my daughter into it.”
“Why is my kitchen a mess?” Rooster hollered, stomping across the yard to join the mini congregation that had now formed.
Jake rolled his head and groaned. “Five minutes…I swear, all I need is five minutes.”
“Oh, sorry, Brad,” Savannah smiled saccharinely at him. “I was just bakin’ a cake to celebrate my welcome into the family.”
“It’s Bradley. Brad-ley.”
“Savannah…” Jake hissed in warning, his eyes flashing.
“I’m sorry, Jakey, but I’m just so excited to be marrying you!”
In an instant, everything seemed to freeze. Abby could see her Javy moving, could see her father’s lips moving as he spoke to Savannah, but it all seemed to be in slow motion.
She had expected to learn about a relationship, to have her father come to her about the new girl he was seeing and discussing it with her. But marriage? Her stomach churned and her vision tunneled, red seeping in on the edges of the landscape. Sound returned with a roar, and she found her lips moving.
“Marrying you?” she was finally able to choke out. “You’re getting married?”
Jake sighed and turned his back on Savannah, who was still smiling despite the dressing down she had surely received from Jake.
“This isn’t how I wanted you to find out, but…yes. Savannah and I are getting married.” He reached a hand towards her with a bittersweet smile.
Every muscle in her body trembling, she stepped back from her father. “How could you?” she whispered.
Jake’s eyes slid closed, and he crouched down to her level. “Charlie, I know this will be an adjustment, but—”
“An adjustment?” she barked out a laugh. “You think that this is an adjustment? Springing some random woman on me and saying she’s going to be your wife?”
“And your stepmother, honey,” Savannah added, smiling brightly at her from over Jake’s shoulder.
“Like hell you will be!” she snapped, the slight British lilt to her natural voice almost slipping through the cracks. “You won’t even tell me about my real mom, but you think that you can just shove whatever woman looks your way into her spot in my life? That’s crap!” Abby dashed her eyes before stepping back again. “Is she even old enough to be my stepmom? Because she looks like she would’ve been a kid herself when I was born!”
Javy and Rooster both ducked their heads, their shoulders shaking slightly, but Abby could take no joy in their amusement, not with the betrayal stinging in her heart and the look on her father’s face.
“Charlotte Delta Seresin, I taught you better than to speak to me like that,” her father snapped, raising himself up to his full height and staring her down, shaking off Savannah’s hand as she tried to grab his arm.
“You didn’t—” Abby cut herself off before the rest of her sentence could escape. “You didn’t raise me at all.” That’s what she had wanted to say. This man, the man she had wanted to meet for her entire life, hadn’t raised her at all, either by accident or by design. He had left her and her mom behind, taken Charlie, and never looked back. It wasn’t fair. None of this was fair. “You didn’t think about me at all, dad,” she whispered, tears choking back any other words she may have wanted to share before she turned and fled, racing towards the stables.
Jake stepped forward, ready to chase after her, his heart sinking in his chest, but a firm hand on his shoulder stopped him.
“Just leave her be, man,” Rooster sighed, his eyes following his niece over the landscape. “She’ll come around.”
“Will she?” Javy scoffed. “Way to break the news, man.”
“I…I should talk to her,” Jake murmured, all too aware of Savannah retreating back into the house. “I should explain.”
“Let me talk to her first,” Rooster offered. “Let me test the waters before you boil yourself alive.”
Running a hand over the back of his neck, Jake finally nodded. “Alright. Thanks, man.”
“Don’t thank me, man. Not yet.”
Tumblr media
Abby huddled in the office in the stable, the door locked tight against her and the outside world. A wave of shame washed over her as she remembered how she had spoken to her father. She never spoke to any adult that way, her mum had taught her better. Her mum…
Abby’s heart clenched with homesickness. She ached for her mother’s arms to wrap around her, for the sound of her Uncle Bob’s laugh or Auntie Nat’s teasing.
She fumbled for her cell phone, tugging it clumsily out of her pocket before opening the little green app and dialing the now familiar long-distance number.
“Hello?”
“Dad’s getting married!” she nearly shouted down the receiver, despair coating every sound she uttered. “He got engaged to some blond woman who looks like she’s half his age!”
“Abby?” Charlie yawned. “What are you talking about?”
“I told you! The blond woman from this morning is wearing a rock the size of my head and hanging off of dad! She said that they’re getting married, and he confirmed it!”
“Wh…what? No! It…it’s not possible!”
“Except that it is! He told me it was happening whether I liked it or not!” Silence greeted her claim, and she felt that red hot rage start to creep in again. “Would you say something, please?”
“What do you want me to say, Abby?” Charlie whispered, and Abby could hear the tears in her voice. “Dad’s getting married, and he didn’t bother to even introduce her to me.”
Abby sighed, the anger dissipating as quickly as it came on. “I know…”
“But he loves mom!” Charlie groaned. “I know he does! You don’t shut down that often about a person if you don’t care about them!”
“He shut down on me today too,” Abby agreed. “But it’s not like I can just tell him that he loves her. He would never go for that.”
“Can you find something to prove it?” Charlie’s desperation was clear. “Something to remind him?”
“Like what?”
“I dunno…a photo? Their marriage license? Anything that might remind him of her?”
“Where would I even find something like that?”
“In the office in the stable.”
Abby looked around. “I’m there right now, I don’t see anything.”
“In the safe under his desk. Or in the filing cabinet. I don’t know the code to the safe or where he keeps the key to the cabinet though.”
Abby sighed. “I’ll figure it out. I’ll let you know what I find.”
“Thanks…I’m sorry you have to deal with that while I’m having fun with mum.”
“It’s okay. Do…do you think mum still loves dad?”
“Abby, all her adult books are about a military guy falling in love with the woman of his dreams and the obstacles that keep them apart.” Abby could practically hear the eye roll in her sister’s voice. “She either loves him or she doesn’t know what else to write about.”
“What if you’re wrong?”
“I…I don’t want to think about that. Find proof. I’ll find proof too. Then we’ll tell them about the switch.”
“Okay.”
“Okay. Good luck.”
“You too,” Abby hung up the phone with a sigh before turning to face the little black safe that was tucked under her father’s desk.
“Alright, you…what could your combination be?”
She cycled through the obvious choices first: Jake’s birthday, her and Charlie’s birthday, her father’s military employee number, her great-grandfather’s number. With a wish in her heart, she even tried her mother’s birthday, but no such luck. So, she tried less obvious combinations. Javy’s birthday was a no-go, as was Rooster’s. Her grandmother and grandfather were also a bust. And it turned out that Jake Seresin was not the type of guy to use 1-2-3-4-5-6 as his combination.
“C’mon…c’mon, what are you?” Abby grumbled.
“Try 02-14-19.”
The sudden voice made her shriek and lurch away from the safe, turning to see her uncle chuckling from the doorway.
“Uncle Roo…you frightened me!”
“I frightened you, huh?” He sauntered forward, kicking the door shut behind him. “See, two months ago you would have said ‘You scared the crap out of me’ or ‘I’m gonna get you back for that, Chicken!’ Not, you frightened me.” He perched himself on the edge of the desk. “My girl Charlie doesn’t talk like that. She knows the words, smart as a whip that kid is, but being around a bunch of air jockeys on a ranch didn’t exactly lend itself to 20-point words like frighten.”
She felt the blood rush to her cheeks. “W-what do you mean? I’m Charlie. Did you hit your head or something?”
“See, now that is something Charlie would say. You almost had me. But Lovebug doesn’t shy away from Charlie. Never has, never will. And Javy could almost make Charlie an assistant coach with how much she helps him out with his playbook…but not you. You don’t seem to know the first thing about football.” He fixed her with a stern look. “You’re not Charlie…are you, Abby?”
The dam inside her—the one that had been holding back all her fears and anger about her father’s surprise engagement, and the ache of her homesickness—broke and the tears burst forth. Quickly, she buried her face in her hands and sobbed.
She heard a heavy sigh before she was wrapped in a hug, strong arms pulling her against a lean body.
“S’alright, kid. I’m not gonna tell anyone.”
She pulled back slightly, trying to meet Rooster’s eyes but he kept them firmly on the ceiling. “R-really?”
He shrugged. “I figure you and Charlie have your reasons for this insane switch. Where the hell did you two meet, anyway?”
“Camp…” she hiccupped. “P-Penny invited both of us at the same time.”
Rooster sighed, but there was the slight twang of a chuckle hidden inside it. “Yeah, that sounds like Penny. She was pretty pushy about me mentioning the camp to your dad. Shoulda known she was pulling a Maverick level stunt.”
“Y-you’re not mad?”
“Nah…” he shrugged, releasing her and sitting back on the edge of the desk again while Abby straightened in the desk chair. “Just, tell me one thing. Is Charlie okay?”
Abby nodded. “She’s in London with my mum, Uncle Bob and Auntie Nat. She’s having a grand time.”
Rooster nodded thoughtfully. “So, what is the plan?”
Abby bit her lip. “Get to know our other parent, tell them about the switch at the end of the week, force them to meet to switch us back, and have them fall in love with each other again so that we don’t have to live with an ocean in between us again?”
Rooster sighed; his eyes drifting shut as his head rolled back. “Jesus…”
“Are…are you going to tell dad?”
She held her breath as his eyes opened again, this time turning to her with a fixed determination that sent a shiver down her spine.
“No…I’m not.”
“Really? But…why?”
Rooster shrugged. “One, because making your dad’s life a living hell is still one of the greatest pleasures of my life. Two, I always thought that the way your parents handled the divorce was wrong. Hell, I think they never should have gotten divorced at all. And three, Savannah pisses me off and I don’t think I’ll be able to keep living here if your dad actually goes through with it.”
“So…what does that mean for me?”
“It means, I’m gonna help you. And so will Javy.”

You weren’t necessarily a private person; you just didn’t like sharing everything about your life with the people you worked with. You loved them, trusted them with your life, but they knew everything about everyone else, and you liked to have some secrets.

Because of this, Emily and Derek liked to tease you about how innocent you seemed. You played into the jokes, laughing along with them, it truly didn’t bother you. Spencer had confessed to you that they used to make these jokes about him too, but they stop after a while.

You played into the jokes, laughing along with them; it truly didn’t bother you. Spencer had confessed to you that they used to make these jokes about him too, but they stopped after a while.

One day, during a rare moment of downtime at the BAU office, you found yourself scrolling through old case files on your computer. Emily sauntered over, a mischievous glint in her eyes, and draped herself over the back of your chair.

"Y/N, I've been thinking. Maybe it's time you let us in on some of those secrets of yours," she suggested, a playful smile on her face.

You smirked, pretending to contemplate the idea. "Oh, you mean my exciting double life as a secret agent? Or maybe I'm a gourmet chef on the weekends."

Emily chuckled, "I was thinking more along the lines of a mysterious past involving international espionage, but chef works too."

Derek, overhearing the conversation from his desk, joined in with a teasing grin. "Come on, Y/N, you have to some dark secrets. What's the real story?"

You rolled your eyes, playing up the innocence they teased you about. "I'm afraid my life is as thrilling as it gets: work, home, and occasionally binge-watching crime dramas. The usual."

The jokes, however, continued, with the team chiming in with their own outlandish theories about your mysterious life. Spencer, ever the voice of reason, observed from his desk. Eventually, the conversation shifted, and the team returned to their tasks.

After the workday, you had decided to head home. You rarely ever got opportunities like this to relax, and you were looking forward to some very well-deserved down time. You made some cheesy tomato pasta and decided to re-watch Bones. You don’t why you enjoyed watching crime dramas so much, especially when you did it for a living, but you did.

Half through an episode, you heard a light knock at your door. You walked over and peered through the peephole. Standing there was Spencer with a paper bag in his hands. “Hey Spencer. You, okay?” you asked, opening the door to let him in.

Spencer flashed a shy smile and stepped inside, holding out the paper bag. "I brought you some dinner. Thought you might be hungry."

You chuckled, touched by his thoughtfulness. "Thanks, Spence. You really didn’t have to do that. But I’ve already eaten. You’re more than welcome to stay though.”

“Thank you, I know I didn’t have too.” he replied softly. "But I wanted to. Plus, it's a good excuse for me to escape my apartment and have some company."

You smiled at Spencer's sweet gesture, appreciating his desire for company. "Well, I'm glad you decided to come over. It's always nice to have some company, especially when it's you."

Spencer's cheeks flushed slightly at your words, but he chuckled and walked further into your apartment. You closed the door behind him and gestured for him to make himself comfortable on the couch while you tidied up the living room.

As you settled down next to him, you couldn't help but feel a sense of ease and comfort in Spencer's presence. He had always been the one who understood your need for privacy, never pushing you to reveal more than you were comfortable with. It was one of the reasons why you had grown so close to him over the years.

"So," Spencer began awkwardly, fidgeting with his hands. "I've been thinking about what Emily and Derek said earlier. Do you really have any secrets?"

You raised an eyebrow playfully. "Are you asking me to spill my secrets, Dr. Reid?"

Spencer blushed and looked down at his lap. "Well, I mean... if you're comfortable sharing, I would love to know."

“Spencer, I really don’t have any secrets. Emily and Derek just want me to spill about my sex and dating life. If I had any secrets I would tell you, I promise.” You chuckled.

Spencer's blush deepened as he fumbled with his words. "No, no, I mean... I didn't mean it like that. I just... I want to know you better, Y/N. Not because of some gossip or curiosity, but because I genuinely care about you."

You felt your heart skip a beat at his words, realizing the sincerity behind them. Something shifted in the air between you two, and you couldn't deny the sudden surge of attraction that coursed through your veins.

Leaning closer to him, you spoke in a soft voice laced with vulnerability. "Spencer, I care about you too. And if there's anything you want to know, anything at all, I'm here to listen."

His eyes met yours, filled with a mix of curiosity and longing. "Well, there is one thing..." Spencer hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I've always wondered what your first kiss was like."

You chuckled softly at his question, feeling a rush of warmth spread through your body. "My first kiss? Well, it wasn't anything extravagant or romantic, that's for sure. It was in high school, at a party. I had a crush on this guy named Jake, and we were playing spin the bottle. When it landed on him, my heart started racing."

Spencer listened intently, his eyes never leaving yours as he hung onto your every word. Encouraged by his interest, you continued. "We both leaned in nervously, not really knowing what we were doing. But when our lips met, it was like a spark ignited inside me. It was innocent and sweet, but it made my head spin and my cheeks blush."

A small smile tugged at Spencer's lips as he imagined the scene you described. "That sounds... magical," he whispered.

You nodded, your voice barely above a whisper. "It was. And I haven't felt anything quite like that since." The atmosphere in the room had shifted, the tension between you and Spencer palpable. You could feel the electric chemistry as your eyes locked, both of you caught in the moment.

Without realizing it, you found yourselves drawn closer together. Your heart pounded in your chest as Spencer's hand gently brushed against yours, sending shivers down your spine. His touch was tender, his fingers intertwining with yours as if they were meant to fit perfectly.

You leaned in, feeling the warmth of his breath against your lips. The anticipation built, a mix of nervousness and excitement swirling within you. And then, finally, your lips met in a soft, delicate kiss.

It was a kiss filled with longing and yearning; a culmination of unspoken desires finally being realized. Time seemed to stand still as you melted into each other's embrace, savouring every moment of this newfound connection.

Spencer pulled back, “I know I shouldn’t, but I’ve profiled you before. I hate how you hide yourself away, how you stop yourself laughing. Or look to the ground when someone you don’t fully know enters a room. I hate how you act like you’re not the most beautiful person to ever exist.” He paused for a second, gently moving some hair out of your face. “I wish you knew how perfect you truly are.”

Tears welled up in your eyes as Spencer's words washed over you, his sincerity and vulnerability piercing through the walls you had built around yourself. In that moment, you realized just how deeply he cared for you, accepting even the parts of you that you deemed imperfect.

"I... I never knew you felt that way," you whispered, your voice filled with a mix of awe and gratitude. "Spencer, I... I don't know what to say."

He smiled softly, his thumb gently wiping away a tear from your cheek. "You don't have to say anything, Y/N. Just know that you are deserving of love and happiness. And if you're willing, I would be honoured to show you just how much you mean to me."

Your heart swelled with emotion as you reached out to cup his face in your hands. Without hesitation, you pressed your lips against his once more, this time with a newfound confidence and passion.

The kiss deepened, the connection between you and Spencer growing stronger with each passing second. It was as if the floodgates had opened, releasing years’ worth of unspoken desire and pent-up emotions. Your hands found their way to Spencer's hair, tangling in the soft curls as you pulled him closer, deepening the kiss even further.

His arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you flush against him, creating an intoxicating friction between your bodies. The heat between you was undeniable as the boundaries of friendship were transcended in this moment of pure vulnerability.

The air was thick with anticipation and a hunger for more. Lips moved with urgency, tongues danced in a passionate tango, exploring each other's mouths with a desperate need for deeper connection.

Spencer's breath hitched as you trailed kisses along his jawline, peppering his skin with featherlight caresses. He let out a soft whimper that resonated deep within your core.

His hands roamed your body, tracing the curves and dips. The intensity of the moment was overwhelming, and you found yourself losing control, giving in to the raw desire that consumed you both.

The couch became a distant memory as you stumbled towards the bedroom, your lips still locked in a fervent embrace. Clothes were discarded along the way, leaving a trail of fabric strewn across the floor.

As you entered the room, Spencer gently pushed you against the wall, his hands desperate to explore every inch of your exposed skin. The heat between you was unbearable, an inferno of desire that threatened to consume you both.

His lips trailed down your neck, leaving a trail of fiery kisses in their wake. A moan escaped your lips as his teeth grazed your sensitive skin, igniting a primal hunger within you. The sensation sent shivers down your spine and pooled desire between your thighs.

With trembling hands, you reached for the hem of Spencer's boxers, eager to rid him of the last barrier separating you. His breath hitched as you tugged them down, freeing his hardened length. Your eyes met his, a silent agreement passing between you.

He lifted you effortlessly, carrying you to the bed as if you weighed nothing at all. The anticipation was palpable, the air crackling with electricity as he placed you gently on the soft sheets.

Spencer's eyes burned with desire as he hovered above you, his gaze filled with a mixture of tenderness and raw need. He cupped your face in his hands, his touch sending heat coursing through your veins.

"You are so beautiful," he murmured, his voice husky with desire. "I've wanted this for so long, Y/N."

His words fueled the fire within you, igniting a hunger that couldn't be denied any longer. You reached up, pulling him down to meet your lips in a searing kiss. Your bodies molded together as if they were made for each other, a perfect fit of curves and angles.

The world around you ceased to exist as Spencer's hands roamed your body, leaving a trail of tingling sensations in their wake. Every touch sent waves of pleasure coursing through your body, igniting a fire within you that burned hotter with each passing second. Your skin prickled with anticipation as his fingers trailed along your thighs, teasingly brushing against your most sensitive areas.

A moan escaped your lips as Spencer's mouth left a trail of wet kisses down your neck, marking you as his own. His hands continued their exploration, caressing every curve and dip, leaving no inch of your body untouched.

You arched your back, craving more of his touch, more of the delicious friction that only he could provide. Spencer's fingers danced along your inner thighs, inching closer and closer to their ultimate destination. The anticipation was almost unbearable, driving you to the brink of madness.

And then, finally, his fingers found their mark, sliding through the slick folds of your arousal. A gasp escaped your lips as he teased your clit, applying just the right amount of pressure to send shockwaves of pleasure radiating through your body and into the depths of your soul. Your back arched off the bed, your hands gripping the sheets tightly as Spencer's expert touch brought you to the precipice of ecstasy.

He continued his ministrations, his fingers skillfully exploring every inch of your most intimate desires. Waves of pleasure washed over you, intensifying with each stroke, each swirl of his thumb against your swollen bud. You couldn't control the moans that spilled from your lips, the raw need and desire consuming you completely.

As your pleasure built, Spencer's mouth found its way to your breasts, sucking and nipping at your hardened peaks. The sensations sent jolts of electricity straight to your core, heightening the pleasure coursing through every fibber of your being.

You were on the edge, teetering between blissful release and sheer madness. And just when you thought you couldn't hold on any longer, Spencer plunged two fingers inside you, filling you completely. The sensation was overwhelming, a symphony of pleasure that reverberated throughout your body. Your walls clenched around his fingers, desperately seeking more.

Spencer's skilled fingers moved with purpose and precision, curling and thrusting to find that sweet spot that would push you over the edge. The coil of tension within you tightened your body trembling with anticipation.

As if sensing your imminent release, Spencer lowered his head, capturing your lips in a searing kiss. It was a desperate, hungry kiss filled with all the pent-up desire and longing that had been building between you for so long.

Your moans were swallowed by his mouth as your climax crashed over you like a tidal wave. Pleasure wracked your body, rippling through every nerve ending. You clung to Spencer, riding out the waves of ecstasy together.

Time seemed to stand still as your bodies convulsed with pleasure, as if the universe itself was acknowledging the power of this moment. It was raw, passionate, and it left you feeling alive in a way you had never experienced before. The intensity of your connection with Spencer was breath-taking, leaving you both breathless and completely satiated.

As the waves of pleasure subsided, Spencer reluctantly withdrew his fingers from your pulsing core. He hovered over you, his eyes filled with a mix of adoration and desire. His gaze trailed down your quivering body, savouring every inch of your flushed skin.

He leaned down to capture your lips in a gentle kiss, tenderly brushing away the strands of hair that clung to your damp forehead. "You're incredible," he murmured against your lips, his voice filled with genuine awe.

A soft giggle escaped your lips as you basked in the afterglow, feeling a sense of contentment wash over you like a warm embrace. "And you, Spencer Reid, are absolutely amazing."

He smiled, his eyes sparkling with fondness. "I'm just grateful to have found someone like you." “And you know, ever since I saw how you shied away from the topic of your dating life, I knew you couldn’t be that innocent.”

a lots gonna change pt.1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Married life isn’t great, infidelity ensues and things change.
next part
Tumblr media
Soft music sounded throughout the restaurant’s interior, as the view of the lake glistened, courtesy of the fairy lights scattered around the facilities patio. Boats lined up along the dock, few were decorated with candle lit tables, while others were completely taken by darkness.
The gentle sound of waves washed over you even with the sound of the baroque music playing aloud. You turned your attention to Lila who was nagging on about hunger and you decided to feed her some of the bread and margarine that sat in a beige woven basket in the centre of the table. Soon enough, your meals had arrived and you were tasked with feeding your greedy daughter.
As you and Ellie were engrossed in conversation, the familiar ping of her phone alerts the both of you and as she lifts it up, she makes an uncomfortable face upon spying the contact name. In haste, she excuses herself and you return to feeding Lila. Things had been tense between the two of you for the last 12 months, having your daughter had put a stint in the honeymoon period of the relationship.
Not to mention her pressuring you into taking the year off work, claiming she had it under control. Soon enough the two of you had found yourselves in couples therapy, something you were weirdly self conscious about. The prospect of marriage was something you had convinced yourself needed to be perfect, so when yours began to crack under pressure so did your confidence.
-
"EIs, I need you now" cries the hoarse voice on the other side of the phone.
"What did I tell you about calling me unannounced, I'm out with my fucking wife and kid for Christ's sake" she's now holding her fingers against her temple, rattled with anger.
"But baby, I need you" the voice cries, only angering her more.
"I'm sending an Uber to get you, I'm busy right now, don't piss me off.”
"I love youuuu" the voice whines, and she angrily ends the call, makes a straight face and returns to her family. She had to be careful, if not she would be falling down a slippery slope, one that would put everything she and y/n had been working hard to piece together in jeopardy.
“Who was that?” You ask, obliviously as Ellie returned to the table. You held a small cup of water to Lila’s mouth, the toddler chugging greedily.
“Just work, being annoying as usual” she lies through her teeth, her answer seemingly satisfying you as you simply hum in response and return to your food”
-
Ellie hated lying to you, she really did. After Lila things between the two of you had become exhausting, fights were more frequent, minimal sleep, lack of intimacy, it was affecting the way she functioned and she felt that her brain was just not in the right place. That’s when she met Amelia, blonde, petite and shallow. The complete opposite of who you were.
What was intended to be a one night stand after a particularly long day at work, turned into a 4 month long affair. Ellie felt horrible, she really did, but she had no idea how to end it without causing havoc in both of your lives. It didn’t help that Amelia was her own special brand of crazy that would stop at nothing to get Ellie’s affection and attention.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean it, I-" Amelia’s voice wavered, it wasn't real remorse, only a fool would be gullible enough to believe she held even an ounce of guilt in her, and Ellie wasn't a fool. She was sat on the edge of the king sized poster bed, compliments of the swanky hotel she had booked for the both of them. She hurriedly put her clothing back on, set on leaving as soon as she could, if she stayed near Amelia for a few more minutes she was afraid she would get violent.
In the midst of fucking her, Amelia took it upon herself to bring up Ellie’s family, claiming she could give her so much more than them. Everyone that knew Ellie was aware that her family was a red zone, a zone you didn't want to cross. After the words left her mouth, she wasted no time in pushing her off of her body and throwing her clothes back on.
"I don't even want to fucking hear it, I really don't." She tries putting her thin arms around Ellie’s neck and she wastes no time in pushing them away.
"Please it was a mistake, it was the orgasm high, baby look at me, please I love you" she's hysterical, her cheap eyeliner leaves stains running down her face, and her nauseating perfume is hard to miss when she's this close to her.
"It's over, were done. For real this time" Ellie is now stood by the bedside table, putting her wedding band back on and clicking her watch back onto her wrist. Amelia looks at Ellie dumbfounded, as she sits on the bed with her bra on, the rest of her body bare and on full display.
"You can't, please no I need you, I love you." she gets off the bed and makes her way over to the brunette who was now fuming, pounces on her and stands idly, holding onto her waist tightly.
"This was a mistake, a big one at that and I'm done, you had no fucking right to bring them up. No right!" She reaches to her waist and removes the blondes arms, aggressively. Pushing her hair back in frustration as the blonde begins hiccuping pathetically.
"It's always them over me, why can't I be enough for you?" If she weren't livid, she would have found Amelia’s words to be quite amusing. The fact that she believed she stood a chance against her wife and daughter was madness, wishful thinking at its highest.
"You're nothing to me, this was solely transactional for fucks sake and I don't love you, I never have and never will" she didn't care that it hurt her, she was hurting too, and Amelia was the only person she could project her anger onto, without feeling any sort of guilt or remorse. She placed the key card onto the table and made her way towards the door, turning around to get one last look at her. She's stood there half naked, hair disheveled and makeup running down her face, she knows this is it, she knows Ellie will never come back to her and it hurts her more than words can explain.
"No one will ever love you as much as I do" Amelia whispers as they make a final glimpse of eye contact, Ellie scoffs at her comment and closes the door, making her exit.
-
Lila, you can't do that it'll hurt your dolly" You sigh, as you look down at your kid.
"She likes it" she mumbles, you’re still taken aback whenever she speaks. It’s as though it was just yesterday when you were carrying her.
You were in the foyer of your home, hanging up some frames of a young Ellie and the rest of the family, that Joel had dropped off. Lila was 'helping' you with all the labour or at-least that's what you had convinced her, to stop her from trying to climb the ladder. In reality she was just keeping you company, sitting on the floor and continuously banging her poor dolls head on the tile. You had just hung up the last framed photo, which was a fairly new portrait of you, Ellie and Lila that Joel had taken on Mother's Day.
You thought it was beautiful, the perfect photo to tie together your family’s wall of memories. As you climb down the ladder, you're startled by the opening of the front door and met with Ellie’s tired face. She had told you she was working late tonight and you believed it from her disheveled appearance. Lila quickly runs over to embrace her and you decide to follow suit. Just as she gently places her daughter on the floor, you jump into her arms and begin kissing her face playfully.
"Hi momma, how was it?" You question as she hikes you up higher and carry's you into the living room, Lila makes sure to run after the both of you. She finally gives you one last kiss and then drops you onto the couch and wraps her arm around your sitting form.
"It was shit , Page and Vic said hi by the way" she finds herself lying to you once more, knowing good and well she wasn’t working late.
“That sucks, I’m sorry baby” you lean in for a kiss and she reciprocates hesitantly. You don’t take note of it, however she fears you might taste Amelia on her. Suddenly a ray of guilt surges through her, she’s glad she had put a stop to the affair, for once and for all.
Lila is bothered by the lack of attention she receives from the two of you and begins to whine. You both chuckle at her and Ellie takes it upon herself to get her kid ready for bed. In the meantime you walk back to the foyer to locate your phone and keep yourself updated.

There’s a smirk among We’ar-ow’s face. Said Yautja is sat upon a single seat chair in her living room, tablet in her grasp. Though, she hadn’t forced you to be out here with her, your room was starting to get beyond boring of just standing there and doing nothing. Instead, you’ve ventured out and explored what was available to you.
A watchful eye was kept on her as you moved around, like a fearful animal ensuring you didn’t anger her. You knew, despite her gaze on the device, she also observed you. Always. You stopped and peered over at the pink Yautja, head slightly tilted. She doesn’t often let loose any expressions but the fact she had a full grin peeked your interest. Yet, you didn’t dare raise a question.
Right as you were about to continue exploring, We’ar-ow grunted. “Do not be afraid to ask a question, pet,” she said, eyes still on the tablet. You tensed up and worried at your bottom lip. “Speak.”
You groaned lowly. “Why are you smirking?” you brought up the question rolling around your mind. Her upper mandibles twitched, clicking against the bottoms ones. You stayed in the same spot by a room you’ve never been in before.
“That male you mated with.” Dwainet. You slightly flinch as his words rang in your mind. “The mating season ends today. Not a single female reported mating with him.” Reported? They listed that shit?! By god’s grace… all of this was so strange and kind of disgusting to be honest. Why would you want someone to know who you… ehm, had sex with?
Disgust fell over your face. “Why do you know this?” you asked another question, feeling uncomfortable about the conversation.
We’ar-ow raised her device slightly. “We have everything charted. It’s a way to ensure inbreeding does not occur or any diseases appear, we are able to track it down to whom.” Okay… now that made more sense. Still though, you didn’t want your dirty laundry to be aired. “I expected no one to mate with his disloyal ass. I like to know if it was true.”
Her words from when she bested Dwainet rung inside of her head. Right. Since he committed a low crime, not a single female would let them mate with her. Something you also took joy in, just less noticeable. You cleared your throat and softly nodded your head. “That’s… that’s good to know,” you spoke and leaned against the wall close by.
A hum filled the tense air. “Yes. Are you pleased?” Now, your brows furrowed at her words. Why would she care? You just shrugged your shoulders nonchalantly to answer her question. “You still care,” it was more of a statement than a question.
Deep down, you do. You still do. Your heart continuously ached at the heartbreak but he was your first love, true love at first sight. As stupid as the whole situation was, you still cared about the person who smashed your heart without any remorse. Look at you now: a pet to the Monarch of an alien clan. How your world had turned upside down.
“Yes,” you hissed out and stared down at the ground. “I do, okay?”
The couch groaned underneath her as she got up. Instantly, your head whipped up and watched as she made her way over to you. Everything just froze in your mind again, unable to think of way to escape or anything of the sort.
As she stopped before you, she reached out with her hand cupped your chin. Your first reaction was to flinch, but her touch was soft. “Why?” she demanded and tilted your head up to look her in the eye.
A defensive streak rose inside of you. Why did she have to question everything you did? “He was my first love. It felt like true love at first sight,” I said and tried to keep a neutral expression on my face. I didn’t need her to be anger at anything I said.
She hummed once more. A few muscles on your face twitched. Her thumbed swiped along your cheek and drew your attention to something shining on the finger. A tear. You were crying. Why? To save what left over dignity, you tore your head from her grasp. There wasn’t anywhere else to go though so you just stayed against the wall, arms crossed.
“Oomans are so foolish.” You curled more in on yourself. “Love at first sight? There’s no such thing. It is something to nurture and help flourish.” If you had it in you, you would’ve barked out a laugh. As if she or her kind knew of care and kindness.
Rough around the edges. The inside, worse. Just a cactus where their hearts should be. Ugly, heartless, and homewrecker. You kept a heady stare on the floor and grumbled out inaudible words. Not that she would care.
All you wanted was to go home! Fresh, hot tears steered down the lengths of your cheeks and darkened the cloth of your shirt. You bit your tongue; silence was the best answer to any argument. Because it stopped them. She can keep stating her case, breaking your already shattered heart. Here you are, staying quiet and knowing everything she said was the truth. You were foolish and stupid. Look where it got you.
A warm hand tipped your head back up to be face to face with We’ar-ow once more. Your gaze still cast downwards, no matter what she did. The Yautja sighed, a rough sound on your ears, and dropped her head. Then picked her massive head back up to look at you. Her pupils boring an unnecessary hole into you. “I see you have come to realize the truth.”
And the truth hurt. Your bottom lip wobbled.
“That male never cared about you. Not truly. Not the way you wanted. You were something new to his young mind, a new toy if you must. The novelty worn off when realized a ooman mate will diminish his chances of producing a strong bloodline.” Every single word of hers was a gut wrenching, heart tearing, punch to where it hurts most.
Your shoulders trembling at the first sob. Once the damn broke, it was hard to stop. The stress of it all was caving in on you after one beam fell. Your knees gave out and forcing you to drop to the ground. From there, you sobbed your heart out in front of someone you didn’t trust. You backed yourself against the wall and curled as tightly into a ball that was possible.
We’ar-ow stood tall above you, unsure on what to do, arms limp at her sides. Slowly, as if she was hunting, she lowered herself to her haunches, still towering in height and size.
“I wa-was nothing more, more than a play, plaything to him!” you cried into your thighs, body shaking with each pathetic weep. That year with him meant nothing! Nothing to him. While it was thought to be the best time of your life… you were only blinded by the lies and façade.
Coarse, rough skin petted the top of your head and ran down to the base of your neck. You were shocked out of your cryfest as the pain of the mark being touched and hissed. In reaction, you snapped your head up and pinned the limb against the wall. But, that caused it to hurt worse. You jerked away from the wall and reached back to gentle poke at the now blazing mark.
In a whirlwind of emotions and unstable mindset, you snapped at We’ar-ow. “Why did you fucking touch it?!” The mark had scabbed over during the healing process but the skin around it was still sensitive and sore. “You don’t know shit!”
She just sat there, on her haunches, only raising a singular brow at you. “I do not?” she questioned lowly, face revealing nothing of her emotions. You didn’t know what to be more scared after the raging emotions died. Unable to know what she was feeling or how calm those three words came out. You swallowed thickly and curled back into a frightful ball. Maybe she’ll just get this over with and kill you.
Something warm rested under your jaw and forced it up once more. But you don’t look the predator in the eye. That. That is a death sentence. “Pet, I asked you a question.” Again!? Seriously? You could just feel the need to sob your heart out all over again. Why does she keep calling you that? Why not your name? Or something more human than ‘pet’?
For all the energy you had left, you simply just nodded your head. We’ar-ow did not understand your feelings for Dwainet. She never will.
The Yautja simply made a ‘hmpf’ sound and barely nodded her head in thought. “Why do you think that?” she asked. Another question to force you to respond, in any way. Your eyes clenched shut and pushed out any leftover tears. Then, you gulped and took a deep breath.
“I’ve been around your kind long enough. You are a rude, inconceivable species with not a single centimeter of space for love. You, out of everyone, don’t know a single thing about my situation!” Your voice grew in volume the longer you talked. Not that you meant for that to happen.
With her long tongue, the pink Yautja was able to click her tongue and shook her head. The hand under your chin slid against your skin to rest upon your cheek this time. “When I had first found you, my dear ooman, you were a mess of emotions and sorrow. That tells me enough. My age comes into play next. I’m older than you think, gaining experience through my years. I do understand, ooman.”
You snorted through your nose and glared from underneath your brows up at her. We’ar-ow leaned in close, enough for her breath to fan across your wet face. “Why do you think I’ve taken you in as my pet?” Your body tensed, frozen in thought before your shoulders shrugged.
One of her upper mandibles lifted. Her long, pink tongue slithered out and licked up a stripe of your salty tears. “You’ll find out in time.” You jerked your head back only to smack it against the wall behind you, upper lip curling up. We’ar-ow chuckled.
Without a word, you silently pouted and stayed on the ground. We’ar-ow stood back up and offered a hand to you. “Come along, pet.” You scowled at the name but took up on her offer. Just using a sliver of her strength, she pulls you up to your feet. You were yanked up, not expecting the sudden strength or move. The action caused you to bump into her.
One of her arms settled between your shoulder blades and held you steady against the warmth of her body. Blazing heat flashed across your cheeks and raced up to the tips of your ears. You swallowed thickly, entirely form tense and unwilling to move. Neither did she.
The entire time, her gaze was tilted down at you. An alien grin growing on her mandibles, minute. In the state of shock, you didn’t even have time to see it on her features. It was gone as you took all the space you could away from her, back against the wall once more. You took a deep breath in, cleared your throat, and finally looked the predator in the eye. “Where are we going?” you spoke, voice different than before.
We’ar-ow let her arm fall limp to at her side, her eyes still trained on your meek, nervous form. “Out. I have more things to finish before the end of the cycle,” she explained, observed you for a few extra seconds before turning about face and heading towards the door. A scowl fell upon your features at the notion of going out there once more. Paraded as her damn pet.
From the safety of being behind her, you glared fiery daggers at the Yautja and wished you could throttle her. Then, you took the needed steps to catch up to We’ar-ow. The two of you were out the door and shortly on your way to wherever.
The halls weren’t overflowing with the aliens. Today seemed to have calmed down after the season had ended officially. Everyone tired out after the last two weeks had everyone’s hormones thrown into a whirlwind. One that got you caught up in this mess of trouble and rage.
During the entirety of her strutting, you promptly stayed at her six and used her shadows to hide. Pathetic, even with how little Yautjas there were roaming. After everything that has occurred, staying as safe as possible was a necessity to your survival. You don’t know who will challenge the Monarch, as stupid as they would be, for your head. Oomans aren’t well liked upon the predatory species as you’ve come to learn. But here you were, in the lions den with the leader of tribe as your protector. All it takes is one person…
A familiar color caught your eye, feet faulting for a couple of seconds. You accidentally trip over air, barely saving yourself an embarrassing face plant in front of everyone… including Dwainet. Without truly thinking about it, you rushed to catch up once more to the pink Yautja. Your eyes prompt finding the dark metal grey floors far more interesting than the burning rage glare pinned on you.
Cliché enough but if looks could kill, the heat from his gaze would burn hotter than a sun. Death, instantaneously.
One look couldn’t be helped. Eyes flickering for just a millisecond, one too long. You took note that his eyes weren’t on your own. Instead… a little lower, towards your neck. Instinctively, you reached up to touch at the warm leather wrapped peacefully there. A constant reminder to who owned you. If looks could kill… We’ar-ow would be thrown out an airlock and forgotten about.
After that shorter, hair-raising encounter, you stuck to We’ar-ow’s backside like glue. The Yautja didn’t need a leash to keep you this close to her. Just straight terror of what your ex-lover might do to you. Especially learn what had happened to him. He had to be seething from the limited knowledge you had about his species.
The hallway you were taking seemed familiar. Somewhat at least. You scrapped through your mind to remember where this was leading you. Before you had a chance, We’ar-ow stopped in front of a door and imputed a code. Your eyes snapped to her movement, only catching the last three pushes. Three, not bad out of the six you believed was the length of her code.
It opened up to reveal the grand throne room. We’ar-ow marched into the room at her normal strutting pace. Once more, you were left to scramble after her. The Monarch took each step up to the throne chair with pride. You watched as the calm, relaxed Yautja morphed into the leader of her clan. Her face no longer as causal, eyes slightly hooded over as she looked down on the empty space before her.
On the other hand, you went to the spot you had sat at before. Only to notice a soft, plush cushion in place. Despite her gaze on the purple carpet before her, you looked over at her. You were hesitant to sit down on the pillow, unsure if this was the purpose of it. Or something to taunt you with.
A subtle nod came from the Yautja. You released the breath you were holding and thanked to whatever god could hear you for this offering before sitting down.
Instead of the harsh, back breaking metal that once met your bottom, the cushion offered support and relief. You sat easily on the large pillow and crossed your legs, knees bent to sit comfortably. It was definitely an upgrade compared to last time. All you had to do now was somehow find a way to entertain yourself for the time being. Unfortunately.
Yet, something was thrusted into your vision. Your head jerked back, nearly falling backwards and stared at what looked to be a tablet. We’ar-ow held it out, bright iris peering at you from the corner of her eye.
When you didn’t grab it in a reasonable amount of time, she moved it closer to while wiggling it as well. Timidly, you reached out and took the device from her. “Thanks,” you mumbled and inspected the tablet. It wasn’t anything fancy or spectacular but tapping the screen caused it to light up.
From there, you dove more into finding what the item could do in your favor. Plowing through time without even noticing.
It wasn’t until a foot was nudging against your numb legs you uncurled from your shrimp position. We’ar-ow stood before you, regel as ever. You blinked a few times before catching onto what she wants from you. Shutting off the screen and holding the tablet to your chest, you unsteadily got up, legs barely listening to your command.
Like clockwork, the duo had returned back to We’ar-ow’s room. The Yautja walked into the kitchen and sifted through things to gather a couple of items. The entire time, you observed her movements, taking notice how she carries herself while in the privacy of her quarters. Different, relax, causal.
“Are you hungry?” We’ar-ow’s words break you from your thoughts. You shook your head to clear any lingering thoughts.
“Y-yeah, a little,” you voiced and stepped into the living room. Just enough space for We’ar-ow and limited guests if she invites any over. That made you question internally if the Yautja had anything close to a friend. The society of her species highly varies from your own. Was there friendship? Was there relationships? Was there love?
No. There couldn’t be. Not after Dwainet. He taught you his kind was built for love. Just a species morphed to kill. Kill everything in their path, even those who cared about them.
You found yourself settling down on a single person seat that easily engulfed your human body. The tablet was laid comfortably in your lap as you continued to play, mess with it if you must. The things you learned currently were far more helpful than ever.
A map, cameras. All that was needed to show you where their ships were docked, where there was airlocks, emergency escape pods. Everything. From the months you projected to surviving on this ship suddenly turned to days, weeks at most. Freedom was in sight. You could see the light at the end of the tunnel. And it was beautiful.
A plate of assorted fruits/vegetables was placed on the side tablet next to you. We’ar-ow posted her frame to lean against the armrest and peered over you. “Does this give enrichment?” The translator struggled for a moment to find the right word for last part of her sentence.
Nonverbally, you dipped your head as you used an app of sorts to access the internet. Their internet. Strings of Yautja covered the screen, nothing legible. The implant translator only worked with speech, not text. You haven’t found a way to change the language. If there was a way to switch to English…
The Yautja hummed before leaning, showering you in her body heat and pressing a couple of buttons on the screen. Then, voila! Magic. Yautja changed to English in a blink of an eye. “I swear… that male failed you more ways than just the five I count.”
“I have the translator implanted,” you retorted mindlessly and explored the new mode revealed to you. We’ar-ow scoffed once more and used a sharp nail to tap at mentioned device.
“My point still stands.” How much you believe that? Zero. As you’ve come to learn quickly, there was no arguing with her. Instead, you just stayed glued to the tablet and partially ignoring the huge Yautja next to you.
Said predator finally stalked off after a few minutes of watching you. Thankfully. Now, it was time to see what their internet consisted of.

English isn’t my first language, so please be lenient. 💙✨
Tumblr media
Two weeks later, you walked towards Annie’s office, to hand her some reports, but as you were about to knock at her door, you overheard her talking.
Annie’s voice rang out, laced with frustration and urgency, as she bellowed into the phone to Butcher. "Why the hell is Soldier Boy still in America?", she demanded, her tone tinged with incredulity. "He should have been transported to Russia by now. What’s the holdup?".
Your breath caught in your throat as her words echoed in your ears, sending a shiver down your spine.
With bated breath, you pressed your ear to the door, straining to catch every word of the conversation unfolding within.
Inside the office, Butcher’s voice came through the phone, gruff and strained. "The Russians are afraid to take him back", he explained, his words heavy with frustration. "They don’t want to deal with the fallout if he escapes again. They want assurances, guarantees".
Annie let out a frustrated sigh, her voice tinged with exasperation. "Well, we can’t keep him here forever", she snapped, her irritation palpable. "We need to figure this out, and fast".
Your heart raced as you listened in, the pieces of the puzzle slowly coming together in your mind.
As you stumbled back from the door, clutching the reports tightly in your hands, a whirlwind of emotions churned within you.
With each step back to your office, your thoughts raced, grappling with the implications of what you had overheard. The tension in the air seemed to thicken around you, suffocating you with the weight of the secrets and lies that permeated Vought.
Once safely back in your office, you sank into your chair, your mind reeling as you tried to process everything you had just heard.
As you sank into your chair, the weight of the revelations pressing down on you, you couldn't shake the nagging questions swirling in your mind. Why would your friends hold Ben captive? There´s no way you misunderstood the hole situation.
The thought of Ben being returned to the Russians, to face the horrors of his past once more, sent a shiver down your spine. Your heart raced like crazy. You knew the extent of the torture he endured during his time in their captivity, and the idea of him being subjected to it again was unbearable.
No matter what he had done, to you or anyone else, this was just cruel.
With a heavy heart, you began to piece together the fragments of information, trying to make sense of the tangled web of secrets and lies that surrounded Ben's disappearance. But the more you delved into it, the more questions arose, leaving you feeling more lost and confused than ever before.
As someone who had spent countless hours tracking down supes in your previous job at Supe Affairs, you knew the ins and outs of investigative work like the back of your hand. If anyone could uncover Ben's whereabouts, it was you.
You should have done something sooner. Damn it, you hated yourself right now. Why did you trusted your team so easily? But… they were your friends, so you never thought about them lying to you.
For eight grueling hours, you poured over every piece of data on your laptop, leaving no stone unturned in your quest for answers. It was a tedious process, but your determination never wavered, fueled by the hope of finally finding a lead.
And then, just when you were beginning to lose hope, you stumbled upon a promising clue—an upcoming shipment from Nevada to Russia. Then it hit you. Your heart raced. A shipment from supe affairs. Fuck.
This could be it, you thought to yourself, the breakthrough you had been searching for. This had to be it. This had to be Ben.
Thats when Annie and Hughie knocked on your door. You were jolted out of your intense focus, the sound pulling you back to the present moment. Blinking away the remnants of your concentration, you forced a smile as you greeted them.
"Hey, come on in", you said, trying to sound cheerful despite the turmoil raging inside you. "Sorry, I lost track of time. I'll be ready in just a minute".
Annie raised an eyebrow at your distracted and stressed demeanor, her expression tinged with concern. "Everything okay?", she asked, her voice gentle.
You hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much to reveal. Finally, you shook your head, plastering on a false smile. "Yeah, just got caught up in some work stuff", you replied, hoping they wouldn't press for more details.
You joined Annie and Hughie for dinner, you did your best to push aside the rage and confusion swirling within you. The possibility that your friends had captured Ben and kept it from you gnawed at your conscience, but for now, you chose to keep silent about what you had overheard. If that shipment was really connected to Ben, or worse, was Ben, the last thing you needed was them, to react in a hurry.
Throughout the meal, you engaged in polite conversation, masking your inner turmoil behind a façade of normalcy. Despite your efforts, however, a part of you remained preoccupied with thoughts of Ben and the unsettling revelations you had stumbled upon.
As the dessert arrived, Annie and Hughie engaged in light banter, discussing their latest mission at Vought. You joined in sporadically, offering a smile or a nod while your mind wandered to darker thoughts.
Annie noticed your distraction and placed a hand on your arm, concern etched in her features. "Is really everything alright?", she asked, her voice gentle.
You forced a smile, nodding. "Yeah, just a bit tired from work and stuff", you replied, your tone carefully neutral.
Hughie glanced between you and Annie, sensing the tension in the air. "If there's anything on your mind, you can always talk to us", he offered, his expression earnest.
You nodded, before you asked cautiously, "Did either of you happen to see anything about Ben lately?", trying to sound casual.
Annie and Hughie exchanged a glance, their expressions guarded.
Annie sighed softly before responding, "No, we haven't heard anything about him. But it's not uncommon for supes to keep a low profile".
You nodded again, but the unease in your stomach only grew. "It just seems crazy", you continued, "that someone as powerful as Ben hasn't been seen by a fan or caught on camera or anything. Especially now that Homelander is no longer a supe, Ben is essentially the most powerful being on the planet. The media should be going crazy about him".
Annie's brow furrowed in thought, but she didn't offer any further insight. "Maybe he just want to have some private time for now", she suggested vaguely.
You knew pressing further would only raise suspicion.
Annie let out a heavy sigh, her gaze distant as she mumbled, "You still miss him, don’t you?".
You bit your lip, feeling a lump form in your throat. "Yeah", you admitted softly, unable to hide the ache in your voice.
Her next question caught you off guard. "So… there wasn´t just friendship between you two, right?", she asked.
You hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "At first, maybe", you replied carefully. "But… it got complicated. I don't know".
Annie nodded understandingly, her expression sympathetic. "Well, if you ever need to talk about it, about your feelings, I'm here", she offered sincerely.
You offered her another fake smile.
How could she sit there and lie so badly to your face? How could the whole team, your friends, lie to you like that and keep you in the dark? And how could you have been so stupid and naïve as not to question Ben's disappearance?
With determined resolve, you booked a flight to Nevada as soon as you arrived home that evening. As you started packing a small bag, you continued your research, driven by the need to uncover the truth. There was no way you could ignore the possibility that Ben might be in danger once again.
If there was even the slightest chance that he was enduring another hellish ordeal, you had to do everything in your power to prevent it. You owed him that much, after everything you had been through together.
With each item you packed, you felt a sense of urgency coursing through your veins. Time was of the essence, and you couldn't afford to waste a single moment.
As your flight took off in the middle of the night, you felt a sense of urgency propelling you forward. You had booked the soonest flight available, unwilling to waste another precious minute while Ben's fate hung in the balance.
Touching down in Nevada in the early hours of the morning, you wasted no time. Calling in sick to work, you made your way to the nearest taxi stand, determined to reach the small airport where the mysterious shipment to Russia was set to depart. With each passing moment, your heart raced with anticipation, fueled by the hope that you might find some answers about Ben's whereabouts.
As the taxi pulled up to the airport, you stepped out, your pulse quickening with each step you took. With every passing second, the weight of the unknown pressed down upon you, but you refused to let fear hold you back. Steeling yourself for whatever lay ahead, you marched forward, ready to uncover the truth no matter the cost.
Taking a deep breath, you approached the guards stationed at the entrance to the airport. "Starlight sent me to make sure everything is ready for the shipment", you explained confidently, hoping to gain their trust. Well, you had a few hours to prepare yourself for every possible argument.
The guards exchanged suspicious glances, their eyes narrowing as they scrutinized you. "We weren't informed of any additional personnel", one of them remarked, his tone skeptical. But they knew your face. Your new position at vought was pretty much being Annie´s PA.
Undeterred, you maintained your composure, offering plausible explanations for your presence. With each carefully chosen word, you worked to assuage their doubts and convince them of your legitimacy.
After a tense exchange, the guards finally relented, allowing you to pass through the security checkpoint. As you stepped inside the airport, a sense of relief washed over you, knowing that you had cleared the first hurdle.
You walked through the airport. For a while.
As you finally entered the security room, you were met with the scrutinizing gazes of another two guards. Keeping your composure, you approached them with even more confidence.
"Starlight is waiting at the entrance", you lied smoothly, your tone authoritative. "She needs to discuss some urgent matters with you both".
The guards exchanged hesitant glances, clearly uncertain about the unexpected interruption. However, they seemed hesitant to defy the authority of someone claiming to be sent by Starlight.
Nodding in acknowledgment, they quickly vacated their posts, eager to address the purported issue at the entrance. As they hurried off, you took advantage of the opportunity to slip further into the security room.
"Idiots. This was way too easy", you rolled your eyes.
As you monitored the security cameras and navigated through the building's system, a mix of disbelief and amusement washed over you. The familiarity of the security system, reminiscent of Vought's own setup, struck you as both ironic and unsettling.
With each click and keystroke, you delved deeper into the labyrinthine network of corridors and chambers. It wasn't long before your keen eye caught sight of a series of heavily guarded rooms nestled within the bowels of the basement.
The sight sent a shiver down your spine, the gravity of the situation sinking in. These rooms held the answers you sought.
As you pocketed one of the access cards from the guards, a surge of adrenaline fueled your resolve. With each step towards the elevators, your heart pounded in anticipation and sure some fear.
With a steady hand, you inserted the card into the elevator panel, the soft beep signaling acceptance as the doors slid open before you. Stepping inside, you selected the basement level, your breath catching in your throat as the elevator descended into the depths of the building.
As the doors opened to reveal the dimly lit corridors of the basement, you steeled yourself for what lay ahead. With each step forward, you drew closer to the truth. Hopefully to Ben.
With each door you passed through, the tension in the air grew thicker, your nerves coiling tightly with each step. Using the access card, you navigated through the labyrinthine corridors of the basement, encountering occasional guards whom you managed to deceive with well-rehearsed lies and a calm demeanor.
As you ventured deeper into the bowels of the facility, you couldn't shake the sense of urgency that gnawed at your insides.
With each encounter with a guard, you maintained a facade of confidence, engaging in casual conversation and deflecting any suspicion with practiced ease. The guards, unaware of your true intentions, offered little resistance. Again, fucking idiots.
Finally, after navigating through a series of winding corridors and heavily guarded checkpoints, you stood before the imposing bulk of the last big steel door. Your heart raced as you reached for the access card once more, steeling yourself for whatever lay beyond.
A wave of shock and horror washed over you as the door swung open, revealing the grim scene before you. There, chained up on an examination table, lay Ben, his once-powerful form now reduced to a pitiful sight. Tubes snaked from his body, connected to machines that hummed softly in the dimly lit room.
Your heart clenched at the sight of him, his face obscured by a large mask, his body restrained by heavy chains. He lay still and silent, completely vulnerable and at the mercy of his captors.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still as you took in the sight before you. The reality of the situation crashed down upon you with force, filling you with a mix of anguish, anger, and despair.
But amidst the chaos of your emotions, one thing remained clear: you had found Ben, and now it was up to you to free him from this nightmare.
As you approached Ben, your heart pounding in your chest, you cast a wary glance around the room, ensuring that you were alone and undetected.
Reaching out with trembling fingers, you gently lifted the mask from Ben's face, revealing his features beneath. His expression was serene, his features softened in sleep.
Your heart ached at the sight of him, your fingers tracing the lines of his face as if to reassure yourself that he was real, that he was still here with you.
As Ben's eyes snapped open, a primal fury ignited within him, driving him to break free from his restraints with a fierce determination. With a low growl emanating from deep within his chest, he lunged towards you, his movements swift and predatory.
In an instant, his hands closed around your throat, crushing the air from your lungs as he pinned you against the wall with a vice-like grip. Your vision blurred instantly, the world fading around you as you struggled to draw breath.
"Mm…Ben", you managed to gasp, your voice barely a whisper as you gazed up at him with pleading eyes, hoping to reach the man buried beneath the rage.
In the final moment before his grip tightened, Ben's gaze locked onto yours, recognition flickering in his eyes as he registered your presence. With a sharp intake of breath, he released his hold, allowing you to crumple to the ground beneath him.
His voice trembled with a mixture of anger and disbelief as he demanded, "Did you fucking know about this?".
You choked back a sob, tears welling in your eyes as you shook your head frantically. "No, no, no", you gasped, your voice barely audible as you struggled to find your breath. He believed you, at least for the moment.
But Ben's rage erupted quickly, his voice reverberated through the room, filled with fury and betrayal. "Those fucking bastards tricked me!", he roared, his chest beginning to glow with a dangerous intensity.
You couldn't blame him for his anger, quite the opposite. You were at least as angry. But when you saw his chest begin to glow, you knew it wouldn't end well if he didn't calm down.
Fear gripped your heart as you pleaded with him, your voice trembling with desperation. "Ben, please, calm down", you begged. "You'll kill me if you explode".
Despite Ben's seething anger, your trembling hand reaching out to touch his. "Ben, please", you pleaded, your voice cracking with fear and urgency. "I know you're angry, I know it´s a lot, but… but we need to find a way out of here… now".
His breathing was ragged, his chest heaving with the intensity of his emotions. For a moment, his gaze softened as he looked into your eyes, but the fire of his rage still burned bright within him.
He knew you were right.
With a wild intensity in his eyes, Ben growled at you to stay behind him. Without hesitation, he strode through the door, his movements filled with purpose and determination. As you followed closely behind, your heart raced with adrenaline.
Just beyond the threshold, a horde of guards awaited, their weapons at the ready. But Ben's grin widened, a fierce gleam in his eyes as he cracked his neck with a primal snarl. With a swift, savage motion, he launched into action, tearing through the guards with unmatched ferocity.
The air was filled with the sickening sound of flesh being rent apart and the metallic tang of blood. Ben moved with lethal precision, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake as he fought his way through the opposition, his fury unchecked and unstoppable.
As Ben tore through the guards with unparalleled brutality, you followed closely behind, your stomach churning with each gruesome scene unfolding before you. The once pristine corridors of the facility were now painted in shades of crimson, the air thick with the stench of blood and death.
With each strike, Ben's movements were fluid and precise, his strength and speed unmatched as he dispatched his enemies with ruthless efficiency. You did your best to keep up, your heart pounding in your chest.
Despite the horror of the situation, you forced yourself to steel your nerves, pushing aside the overwhelming urge to vomit as you focused on staying close to Ben's side. With each step, you prayed for the nightmare to end, yearning for the safety and solace of escape.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, you emerged from the building.
As the chaos subsided and you both emerged from the building, the weight of the ordeal hung heavy in the air. Ben's gaze swept over the scene, his expression unreadable as he took in the aftermath of the carnage.
Without a word, he made his way to the nearest car, dispatching the last few guards with a swift efficiency that bordered on mechanical. You followed closely behind, your mind still reeling from the violence you had just witnessed.
When you reached a car, Ben paused, opening the passenger door casual. Despite the grim circumstances, there was a sense of familiarity in his actions.
You climbed into the car, the leather seats cool against your skin as you settled in. Ben joined you moments later, sliding behind the wheel with a sense of purpose.
The engine roared to life and Ben quickly navigated the vehicle away from the scene of destruction. As you drove off, the weight of what had just transpired hung heavy in the air, the silence between you filled with unspoken questions and lingering tension.
You couldn't help but stare at him, your mind still reeling from the violent ordeal you had just witnessed. With a mix of disbelief and exhaustion, you blurted out. "Even in this situation, you open me the damn car door?", you asked incredulously, your tone a mix of bewilderment and irritation.
Ben glanced at you, a sly smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Hey, just because we're fucking knee-deep in chaos doesn't mean I have to abandon my fucking manners", he replied with a hint of amusement, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
You rolled your eyes, unable to suppress a small chuckle despite the gravity of the situation. Despite everything.
But his mood changed within seconds.
He turned to you, his chest beginning to glow once more. "Why the fucking hell did your fucking friends capture me?", he demanded, his voice tinged with frustration and anger.
You reached out, placing a reassuring hand on his arm as you tried to steady his rising temper. "I don't know, Ben", you replied calmly, meeting his gaze with sincerity. "I overheard Annie talking to Butcher about it, but I don't have all the details. They never told me anything".
Ben's expression softened slightly, his features contorting with a mixture of confusion and disbelief. "They never fucking told you?", he echoed, his voice tinged with incredulity. "After everything?".
You shook your head, a heavy weight settling in your chest as you confronted the painful reality of the situation. "No, they didn't", you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "I'm so sorry, Ben. I wish I had done something sooner".
For a moment, silence hung in the air between you, the weight of unspoken words echoing in the car's confined space.
As Ben's chest gradually ceased its ominous glow, a sense of relief washed over you both, the tension in the air dissipating slightly.
"I can't fucking believe this shit", Ben muttered, his voice heavy with disbelief as he processed the revelations. "Four months… I've been gone for four fucking months?".
You nodded solemnly, the weight of the truth hanging heavily in the air. "Yeah", you confirmed softly, meeting his gaze with empathy. "It's been over four months since… since everything happened".
Ben fell silent, his expression a mixture of shock and resignation as he grappled with the reality of the situation. The passage of time seemed to stretch before him, a testament to the countless moments lost in the void of captivity.
"How did you find me?", Ben's voice cut through the silence, his eyes narrowing as he studied you intently.
You swallowed hard, the weight of his gaze bearing down on you. "I… I overheard Annie talking", you repeated yourself, your voice barely above a whisper. "She mentioned something about a shipment from Nevada to Russia, and I knew… I just knew it had to be you and I had to find you".
Ben's expression softened slightly, a flicker of gratitude in his eyes. "You risked everything to come after me", he murmured. "Why?".
A bitter laugh escaped your lips as you shook your head. "Because you're not just 'anyone' to me, Ben", you replied, your voice tinged with emotion. "You're…damn it, even after what happened… you´re… you're everything".
As Ben's hand found its way to your thigh, a surge of electricity coursed through your body, igniting a fire within you. Despite the turmoil in his mind, his touch spoke volumes, conveying emotions that words could never fully express.
You met his gaze, your heart pounding in your chest as you felt the intensity of the moment enveloping you. In that fleeting instant, the world around you faded away, leaving only the two of you suspended in time.
With a silent understanding passing between you, you leaned into his touch, seeking solace in the warmth of his hand against your skin. In that simple gesture, you found a sense of belonging, a connection that transcended the chaos and uncertainty of the world around you.
You missed him.
More than anything.
The landscape blurred past as Ben continued to drive, the silence between you stretching on. Unable to bear the weight of the quiet any longer, you finally spoke, your voice barely a whisper as you confessed, "I missed you".
Ben's grip on your thigh tightened slightly in response. Despite the absence of words, his touch conveyed a depth of emotion that resonated deeply within you, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the uncertainty of your reunion.
After driving for what felt like an eternity, Ben finally pulled the car to a stop in front of a nondescript motel. The neon sign flickered weakly overhead, casting a dim glow over the deserted parking lot.
About 15 minutes later, Ben settled onto the bed with a heavy sigh, you moved to sit beside him, the weight of the recent events hanging heavily in the air between you. His gaze was distant, his expression inscrutable as he stared off into the distance.
You carefully asked, "Do you want to take a shower? I can find something for you to wear that doesn’t scream 'soldier boy went crazy'".
Ben grunted in response, his gaze still distant as he nodded slightly.
With Ben in the shower, you seized the opportunity to dash to the nearest mall. Racing through the aisles, you grabbed a small selection of clothes that you hoped would suit him. After paying in a hurry, you grabbed some food and rushed back to the motel. You didn't really want to leave ben alone, not in his state of mind.
As you arrived, you noticed your phone buzzing incessantly with missed calls and messages from Butcher and the rest of the team. Ignoring them, you powered off your phone, determined to focus solely on Ben's well-being for the time being.
You froze in the doorway, catching sight of Ben lounging on the bed naked, flipping through channels on the small TV. Your cheeks flushed crimson as embarrassment flooded through you, and your hand instinctively flew to cover your eyes.
"Uh, sorry", you stammered, averting your gaze. "I, uh, brought you some clothes and food",
Ben glanced over at you, a faint smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "About time", he remarked dryly, reaching for the clothes in your hand.
He watched you how you covered your eyes, a bemused expression crossing his features. With a raised eyebrow, he reached out and gently pulled your hand away from your face.
"You've seen it all before, haven't you?", he remarked. "Are you fucking kidding me right now?".
Your heart raced at his touch, a shiver running down your spine as his deep, husky voice washed over you. Instantly, you felt a familiar warmth spreading through your body, your arousal igniting at the mere sound of him.
Ben's smirk deepened as he sensed your reaction to his touch and words. "Guess the worst part of me getting captured was that I couldn't take care of you properly". He emphasized the word ´properly´ his gaze smoldering with desire.
As you looked up at him, your heart pounding with desire, you felt an overwhelming urge to close the distance between you. With a boldness born of longing and pent-up passion, you reached up to cup his face in your hands, pulling him down to you with a sense of urgency. It was too long. You missed Ben more than words could ever express. You loved him. Him. Ben.
Your lips met his in a fiery kiss, hungry and desperate, as if trying to convey all the emotions and desires that had built up during your time apart. In that moment, nothing else mattered except the electrifying connection between you and Ben, the raw intensity of your mutual longing washing over you both.
As Ben pulled you up onto his hips, the world seemed to spin around you, your senses overwhelmed by the intoxicating sensation of his body pressed against yours. Pressed against the wall next to the door, you yielded to the passionate onslaught of his kiss, feeling a rush of heat coursing through your veins.
With one hand beneath your ass, supporting your weight effortlessly, and the other cupping your face, Ben deepened the kiss with a fervor that left you breathless. Your fingers dug into his biceps, seeking purchase as you surrendered to the overwhelming intensity of the moment.
A deep, primal moan escaped your lips, reverberating in the small space between you, as the world outside faded into insignificance, leaving only the fiery passion that ignited between you and Ben.
Amidst the fervor of your embrace, Ben's lips danced along your collarbone, sending shivers of pleasure coursing through your body. As his touch ignited a wildfire of desire within you, you couldn't help but let out a soft whimper of pleasure. You were his own personal drug.
Ben's deep voice rumbled against your skin, a hint of amusement laced with desire. "Told you to be fucking careful with those noises", he murmured, his lips trailing a path of heat down your neck.
With a shuddering breath, you tightened your grip on his shoulders, your nails grazing his skin as you surrendered to the intoxicating rhythm of his touch. Every sensation, every caress, sent waves of pleasure crashing over you.
With a swift motion, Ben tore away your shorts and panties in one fluid movement, leaving red lines marking where the fabric had been. You inhaled sharply at the suddenness of his action, but the surge of desire coursing through you overwhelmed any pain as you pressed your lips harder against his.
Driven by an insatiable need to feel him, to taste him, you deepened the kiss, your body arching against his in a desperate plea for more. The raw intensity of the moment consumed you both.
Lost in the whirlwind of desire, all you could think about was him—the weeks of longing, the ache of his absence—all of it culminating in this moment. His presence enveloped you, his scent, his warmth, his touch.
Desperation laced your voice as you begged for more, your words a fervent plea for the release of pent-up desire. "Please", you whimpered, your voice thick with need. "I need you".
Ben's amused grin widened as he teased. "Maybe I should disappear more often if this is the kind of welcome I get", he chuckled, his hand trailing down to his throbbing length.
At this point it became damn clear to you, that this was Ben´s way of handling his swirling emotions of what the team had done to him. Or wanted to do to him.
With a confident grip, he positioned himself at your entrance. As his tip brushed against your slick folds, you gasped.
With bated breath, you braced yourself against the wall, your muscles tensing in anticipation of his next move.
Slowly, tantalizingly, Ben began to push forward, his thick length inching its way into your welcoming warmth.
With one measured thrust, you felt yourself stretching to accommodate him, the delicious ache mingling with the throbbing heat pooling between your legs.
As he sank deeper, your senses were consumed by the heady sensation of him filling you completely. The friction between you driving you to grind against him in search of greater pleasure.
As Ben's hips pressed flush against yours, his breath hot against your skin, he peppered kisses along your neck, his lips trailing a path of fire along your sensitive flesh. Each brush of his lips sent shivers of pleasure racing through your body, intensifying the already overwhelming sensations coursing through you.
With a husky voice, thick with desire, Ben whispered against your ear. "You feel so fucking good", he murmured, his breath hitching as he fought to control his own rising arousal.
With that, he started to move, slowly at first. He would never admit it, but he missed you just as much, even though he wasn´t really awake for the last few months.
As Ben's thrusts grew more forceful, each movement sending waves of pleasure crashing over you, he struggled to stifle his own moans of pleasure. With each breathless gasp, he fought to maintain control, his lips seeking yours in a desperate attempt to silence his own cries of ecstasy.
Lost in the intoxicating haze of pleasure, you clung to each other, consumed by the raw, primal desire that bound you together. In that moment, there was nothing else in the world but the searing heat of your passion.
"Fuck, I missed you so much", you whispered, your voice thick with emotion as you surrendered to the overwhelming pleasure coursing through you.
Ben's movements became more urgent, driving you against the wall with force. The sound of his skin slapping against yours echoed in the small motel room, a symphony of desire and longing that reverberated through the air.
With a firm grip on your ass, Ben lifted you effortlessly, carrying you to the bed where he hovered above you, his gaze dark with desire. His cock brushed against your slick folds, teasing you with its hardness as he groaned at the sight of your swollen, eager pussy.
“Fuck, Sweetheart. I nearly forgot how fucking beautiful you are", he murmured, his voice thick with lust as he continued to tease you with his throbbing length.
As you shuddered beneath him, your desire reaching a fever pitch, you pressed your hips against his throbbing length, craving the feeling of him deep inside you.
With a low, guttural groan, Ben captured your lips in a searing kiss.
As you press your hips against Ben's throbbing length, he groans in response, his desire evident in the way his eyes darken with lust. You reach up, pulling him closer as he positions himself between your legs.
Ben thrusts forward, sinking deep inside you in one swift motion. You gasp at the sensation, feeling him fill you completely as he moves with softer strokes. Each thrust sends waves of pleasure coursing through you, intensifying with every movement.
You writhe beneath him, lost in the pleasure of the moment.
As the tension builds and you feel yourself nearing the peak of pleasure, Ben's commanding voice cuts through the haze of desire. "Come for me sweetheart", he orders, his voice low and urgent, his gaze intense as he watches you intently.
His words ignite a fire within you, pushing you over the edge as you surrender to the pleasure coursing through your body. With a cry of ecstasy, you shatter into climax, waves of pleasure washing over you as you ride out the intense sensation.
With each thrust, Ben's urgency grows, his desire evident in the way he moves against you.
"Fuck, I'm close", he grunts, his words strained with desire as he drives himself towards the edge. "Gonna come inside you, baby".
You meet his gaze, nodding in response. With one last thrust, Ben finds his release, his body tensing as he spills himself deep and hot inside you with a primal groan.
As Ben's climax washes over him, he collapses against you, his face buried in the crook of your neck. His breath comes ragged and heavy against your skin, his body still trembling with the aftershocks of pleasure.
You wrap your arms around him, holding him close as you bask in the warmth of the moment. His dick throbs inside you, the sensation sending shivers of pleasure coursing through your body.
For a few blissful moments, you both remain tangled together, lost in the intimacy of the aftermath.
As Ben slowly rolls himself beside you, he brushes a strand of hair away from your face, his gaze softening as he looks at you.
"You okay?", he asks, his voice gentle as he caresses your cheek.
You nod, a soft smile spreading across your lips. "More than okay", you murmur, reaching out to intertwine your fingers with his.
Ben returns your smile, leaning in to press a tender kiss against your lips, before you placed your head on his chest, trying to catch your breath.
Ben's chest grew warmer beneath your cheek, and a sense of panic flickered through you. "Ben, your chest", you exclaimed, pulling away slightly, concern etched in your voice.
Ben's gaze shifted to where your hand rested on his chest, his expression tight with controlled emotion. He inhaled sharply, his chest rising and falling with each breath as he fought to calm himself down. His grip around your body tightened, seeking solace in your presence amidst the turmoil within him.
"It's okay", Ben muttered, his voice strained with effort. "I've got it under control".
You nodded, though the concern lingered in your eyes as you searched his face for any sign of distress. Despite his reassurance, you couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in the pit of your stomach.
As you leaned up and pressed your lips against Ben's jaw, trailing kisses along his stubbled skin, you hoped to distract both him and yourself from the rising tension in the room. His struggle to maintain control was evident, his muscles tense beneath your touch.
You lingered at his mouth, kissing him softly, pouring all your love and affection into the gentle caress.
As you continued to kiss him, you gently cupped his face, urging him to meet your gaze. His eyes met yours, filled with a mixture of desire and turmoil.
"Do you remember what you said to me the night before the fight?", you asked softly, your voice tinged with emotion. "The words that made me feel so angry and hurt?".
As your thumb brushed over his cheek, you felt the heat radiating from his chest, but you fought to keep your composure. With a shaky breath, you pressed on.
"I was angry because it's true", you admitted, your voice barely a whisper. "I… love you, Ben".
Feeling the weight of your words, Ben's expression softened, his eyes filled with a mix of disbelief and vulnerability. It was a revelation for him, a moment that he never expected to experience.
For the first time in his life, someone had told him they loved him, and meant it with their whole heart.

YOU BELONG WITH ME ⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡ (pt2)
(playlist for a star series)
peeta mellark x f.reader !!
pt1. / next part
Summary: Peeta and Katniss have kept their history of lovers during the games, your heart has been going through constant suffering when seeing them together but you are more worried about Peeta’s survival.
a/n: i speak Spanish so the story was originally written in Spanish and then I translated it into English, plz don’t be rude if there is a mistake !! 😞
Tumblr media
The following days were torture, you didn’t take off the TV and you couldn’t close an eye, you were alert at all times, you were a total disaster every time Peeta was on the screen, you were scared. You were grateful that Haymitch in his drunkenness was the most sane at the time, you couldn’t think correctly. The girl who was with Katniss had died, it had been so sad that for a few seconds you forgot about Peeta, you admired how noble ‘the girl on fire’ could be, you didn’t think she had such a kind heart.
“Everything is solved, y/n” Haymitch’s voice took you out of your thoughts, feeling the anxiety eat you again, you didn’t understand anything he was talking about.
“What do you mean?” You watched him with confusion, he simply raised his glass of alcohol in the direction of the TV and you just watched, a few minutes later the change of rules was reported, there could be two winners if they were from the same district, you couldn’t explain how happy you were, you knew that Katniss Everdeen wouldn’t be so bad to just do nothing, you weren’t wrong, because when Katniss finally found him, she helped him with his wounds and they found a shelter. You and Haymitch were in charge of sending them things so that they could be cured, although they could not send enough, Katniss risked her life to get the medicine and now you were indebted to her. You tried to ignore the kisses and the displays of affection that they had to show on camera because thanks to that they could both be winners. The rest of the games were still just as bad but you were calmer now that Peeta was not alone, your heart stopped when they wanted to eat the berries, you knew they wouldn’t take this well.
Time passed quickly, all that experience had left you in shock, you were able to return to reality when you felt Peeta’s arms enveloping you tightly, you looked at him as if you were afraid that he was going to break and you overflowed in tears again, he was there, with you, hugging you with love, it was incredible, the warmth of his body against yours made you feel hopeful, his arms were a perfect place to live forever.
“It’s good that you’re alive, Peeta, I was scared” Your voice was weak and choppy, you saw him eyes full of tears and filled him face with kisses, caressed him hair and listened to him heartbeat, as strong as whenever he was near you, you let out a sigh and separated from him. You saw Katniss talking to Haymitch and you just hugged her, you took her off guard but she reciprocated your hug, maybe she didn’t hate you so much, it was a silent hug until you decided to talk. “Thank you Katniss, I will really be indebted to you forever, thank you for taking care of him, you are a good girl, I am happy to know that you will return home”
——————————
The return to district 12 was quiet, you could talk more with Katniss and know a little more about her, even though it was closed, at least you were sure that everything about the romance with Peeta was only for the cameras, it’s not that you doubted him love for you but naturally felt insecurities to see your boyfriend swearing love for another girl in front of all Panem.
You hated having to relive what it meant to win some games, being one of the mentors you had to accompany the winners in various public activities, although as always, you did your best to avoid being exposed, you hated participating in anything that had to do with the capitol.
You were at the party for the winners, you were uncomfortable having to socialize and act as if you were happy to be there, the only thing that gave you joy was to see him, to see his charm every time he talked to someone, the outfit he had made him look a thousand times more handsome than he was, you were holding back by throwing yourself on him. You drank from your glass and your eyes met his while he danced next to Katniss, they just smiled and you felt like vomiting, you didn’t know if it was because of alcohol, stress or jealousy, you tried to act calmly and got out of there quickly, going to a balcony that was somewhat away from the people. The moon kept you company in your anguish, you watched the starry sky as you thought, you thought what a life would be like far from all this, you thought about what it would have been like if you had died in that arena, maybe it would not have changed Peeta’s destiny and he would still be with Katniss Everdeen now, he looked happy next to her, even if you knew that it was all a farce, you couldn’t help but feel bad, you wanted to be in Peeta’s arms all the time as it was before, before everything was ruined by the hunger games. She was a thousand times better than you, you were just smart but too cowardly, she is too brave, skillful and determined, you were nothing next to her.
Thoughts were driving you crazy, you wanted to cry now, you felt bad about yourself, you wished you had died in the hunger games, maybe now you would be free, free from Snow’s hands, free of everything that could harm you. Some hands hugging your waist brought you back, you could recognize its smell from miles, you smiled slightly and turned around, finding a rather worried Peeta, you were not good at hiding this kind of thing, at least never with him.
“I couldn’t find you anywhere, are you okay, beautiful?” His voice was a caress to your sad heart, you nodded and hugged him, hiding your face in his neck and leaving some soft kiss in the area, you felt how his grip became stronger, he caressed your waist and you wanted to freeze that moment, finally it was you and him under the moon, even if it was for an ephemeral time. “You look so beautiful that I could tear off your dress right now, if you allow it” You let out a laugh at the bottom when you heard his words, you messed up her hair a little and kissed her lips repeatedly, you knew that they didn’t have long before they had to come back with the crowd, so you appreciated every second by their side, since Peeta had left the arena they had not had so much time to be together, they were too exposed to the public eye, so they had to take care of their actions at all times and everywhere, anywhere outside their Intimacy, you and he were nothing, that broke your heart but there was no turning back.
——————————————
The uprisings were getting worse and worse, the act of the berries had really left more consequences than you imagined, Snow had them in his sights, he did not believe the facade of the lovers and you knew that very bad things could happen if the situation in the districts did not improve, there were strikes, riots and destruction, people were revealing themselves, they were opening their eyes.
“They should get married” You muttered between your teeth but loud enough for them to hear you, your eyes were glued to the ground while you thought about your words, if they publicly sealed their eternal love, perhaps they could divert attention from the rebellion.
“What?” You found Peeta’s look confused, you could see the sadness in his eyes when he said those words, you loved him with every part of your being but you need him to be safe.
“She’s right, maybe with that Snow will stay calm for a while” Haymitch’s voice confirmed your idea, you felt your heart beating hard, everything wasn’t supposed to go on like this. Peeta nodded and got up, heading to another lane, your eyes filled with tears.
“I understand that this is painful for you, I want you to know that we will do everything possible to take care of Peeta, he has protected me too” Katniss took your hand and stroked your back, you knew that this was also painful for her, she had to marry someone she did not love even having a person who was waiting for her at home, Peeta had the purest soul, he was always going to do him best to take care of him environment, even if he had to do things that would harm him.
“Thank you Katniss, I know it’s difficult for you but you count on us” You hugged her for a few seconds before you got up, you had to talk to Peeta. “I’ll go talk to him, I’ll be back in a while.”
You knocked on the door of his room, you didn’t want to have this conversation, after a few seconds that seemed to be hours, he opened his door, his eyes were red and crystallized, you could notice that he had cried, his face looked sad and tired, you pushed him into the room and closed the door behind you. You hugged him tightly and in a matter of seconds he collapsed in your arms, he was as vulnerable as that time you had to say goodbye to him and enter the arena by yourself, you wanted to end the world and that it was just you and him forever. “I’m so sorry, Peeta, my love, I just want you to be fine, we’ll be fine”
“I will do it, I will marry Katniss, we will do it as public as possible, we will smile at the cameras and when everything calms down, you and I will return to our normal lives, anyway, I don’t care what I have to do, I will not be a piece of his game” Although the blond made efforts to talk without the tears beating him, you knew that he was serious, you knew that he was clever and that he knew that he would always manage to cause some impact on the masses, as you were also clear that there would never be a normality again and that anyone could ever Respect their relationship. “Let’s enjoy this moment, now you are the only thing that belongs to me, you are the only thing I can keep secret without anyone wanting to take it and expose it to the world, my little star, you are mine and I will always be yours.”
His words were so soft and promising, you were his and he was yours, you were willing to leave everything behind to achieve the life you both needed.

Scarlet Whispers pt 12
Tumblr media
Gif not mine
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Female!Reader
Rating: M. Minors DNI
Chapter Summary: Oh no, a melt down! But make it fluffy at the end
Warning: Hurt/Comfort
Masterlist with parts 1-11 here
A/N: Sorry I am late, life has been... busyyyyyy. But I'm trying to keep up with writing and posting!
Returning to the cottage, as much fun (and terrifying) as the date had been, you longed to take a shower. You were fairly certain you were covered in a layer of grime that combined dirt, sweat, and various animal fur. Also, Australia had been hot as fuck, if you could help it, that shower was going to be nice and cold even if it would be a bit of a shock to the system.
“Dibs!” you shouted, as you booked it to your shared room, stripping as you ran. It would probably be polite to let the woman who had planned all of this to go first, but if you had to tolerate one more second of this ~texture~ against your skin, as much as you loved Wanda, you knew you were going to turn into an intolerable bitch.
Wanda simply laughed at your antics and followed. You could call dibs all you liked, but if you thought she was going to wait for you to get out of the shower before she joined, you were sorely mistaken. A salacious smirk crossed her features as she imagined your expression when she surprised you. She would wait a little though, taking her time letting you get situated while she undressed.
The moment the cool water touched your over-heated flesh you hissed. It wasn’t nearly as unpleasant as you had expected, in fact it was a relief. Knowing you were going to have to scrub to get the grime off, still you could feel some of it already sliding off with the mere pressure of the water and that was enough to ease some of the overstimulation to your senses. Somehow you had managed to avoid showing Wanda your more obvious symptoms when overstimulated, usually keeping them managed. A lifetime masking them, learning your triggers, and thresholds, you had learned how to de-escalate yourself.
Today certainly had been a lot. Overall, it was a great day. There were certainly bumps in the road but between Wanda being just perfect, and you working to get your mask under control, everything had been manageable. By the time you had gotten into the shower though, you felt as if you were about to claw your own flesh off. It wouldn’t be too long, you just needed a little bit to decompress and for the love of the gods, get that grime off your skin.
This was why you had called dibs. There was only one shower, and while Wanda could easily have conjured a second one if you had asked her, you didn’t want to put her out after she already had done so much for you. However, you were afraid if you didn’t get clean immediately you were going to have a meltdown from which there was no hiding, nor recovering. After Wanda had already told you she had more still planned for the evening, you didn’t want to risk ruining that, so dibs you called, and fled promptly to the shower.
What you hadn’t expected was for Wanda to join you shortly thereafter, and really, you probably should have after your conversation this morning. When the older woman stepped in behind you, a scream nearly ripped itself from your throat.
“Hello there, detka.” voice husky, just behind your ear.
“W-Wanda, hey! W-uh, what are you doing here? In the shower, with me?” Your voice cracked, and you refused to turn around lest she see your panicked face.
The witch chuckled, thinking you were simply flustered. “I thought after our conversation this morning it would be quite clear. I’m showering with you. Like I said, I won’t bite. Much.”
Soft hands came up to frame your body, pausing as you froze in her grasp.
“Y/N? Are you okay?” She removed her hands from your body.
It was too late. Your mind was a tumultuous whirlwind, what little touch she had provided, gentle as it was, was simply too much, and you wanted to scream, cry, lash out. None of those things were acceptable, and you didn’t want to hurt the love of your life in any way, so instead you completely shut down. Not intentionally, you were simply incapable in that moment of verbalizing what was happening without an outpouring of emotion accompanying it.
Nevertheless Wanda found herself buffeted by your thoughts and emotions, though she couldn’t clearly discern any one in particular. Only distress.
“Dorogoya, can you tell me what’s wrong?”
More silence.
“Y/N I try not to do this, but I’m worried for you. Is it okay if I read your mind to understand what’s going on? To know how to help you?”
A nearly imperceptible nod was all the witch needed. Honestly, even if you hadn’t given it, she probably would have done so anyway. It wasn’t… the best moral decision, but seeing you so upset and not knowing why or how to help made her so worried. Green eyes radiated a soft scarlet, as Wanda filtered through your thoughts and emotions.
Fear, embarrassment, shame, discomfort, gross, overwhelmed, too much, make it stop, make it sto-
Wanda retreated from your thoughts. She had suspected that you were Autistic, but never knew if you’d had a formal diagnosis. There had been little signs, though today’s incident with the horse, and just now confirmed it for her. She hated that you felt as if you had to hide this from her, even if she understood why though
Your comfort came first and foremost. Utilizing her magic, she instantly cleansed the pair of you, removing the dirt, sweat, and grime before turning the water off and leaving you both in silence. Not wanting to overwhelm you, she spoke gently, directly into your mind.
“I’m sorry, lyubov moya, I didn’t know. You have nothing to be ashamed of. It’s okay, you’re okay. I still love you, and I’m still here. I’m going to be in the bedroom when you are ready, love. Take your time, but know that no matter what, I will never abandon you.” Though the older woman longed to place a kiss to the back of your neck reassuringly, from what little she knew, Wanda believed it wouldn’t be helpful to you now. Focusing instead on what was best for you she kept her word, heading to the bedroom to make some changes in preparation for your arrival.
To any normal person, Wanda’s reassurances would probably have been enough, but all you could think was this was it: She was finally going to realize just how broken you were and leave just like everyone else did. Just like your parents always said everyone would. Gods you needed therapy. You really needed to remember to ask Wanda if she could help set that up for you. If she didn’t go running for the hills that is.
In an effort to stop your spiral, you focused on your breathing. In for four, hold for four, exhale for four. Once that was under control, you began taking into account three things you could see, three things you could smell, three things you could touch, and so on. Grounding yourself was key, and you were careful not to look at anything too bright, to sniff too hard, or touch any textures that were not known pleasant ones. You could do this. You could recover, and when, not if, when you did, you would go out and promise Wanda you could change. That you would get better.
You couldn’t. Change, that is, but you would get better at masking. You had done it before, you would do it again. Anything as long as you could convince Wanda to keep you by her side. At this point, you didn’t think you could stand going back to the real world. Aside from the very real fear that you would have to live with your parents again (which again, you were positive they wouldn’t take you back anyway so.. homeless) and you would almost rather die than put yourself through that again. Now that you knew what it was like to be truly cared for by another person, you could admit that the way your parents had treated you was not how parents should treat their children, even as adults.
There was also the fact that you had fallen head over heels for the witch, genuinely enjoying being in her presence. Yes, you would like to make some additional friends, but you were sure you could get Wanda to eventually warm up to that. With these outings, she didn’t seem to mind you interacting with any of the staff and if she really wanted you to be happy, she would have to let you make friends. She could be won over on that topic, Wanda was just afraid to lose you, but once convinced you were hers, she would loosen the reins a little. You were certain of it.
Now though, you were terrified of losing it all over your meltdown. It had to be fixed. You had to be better. Wanda deserved at least that. Gathering all your courage (which admittedly wasn’t much, but for Wanda, you would find some), you left the shower, drying off. Mentally you were preparing everything you would say to the witch to convince her to keep you. It’s not like you were above begging.
As you stepped foot into your shared bedroom, a quiet gasp escaped you. The cottage-core style bedroom you had become familiar with had been completely transformed. More modern, the lighting was a soft, pale lavender. In the corner where previously had been a small television was now a zen waterfall, the water trickling soothingly. Your bed had been modified: It appeared to have a low hanging canopy completely encircling the bed with only one entrance, making it a perfect little nest.
To say you were speechless would be an understatement. A second ago you had been gearing yourself to come out and beg the witch to not throw you out, to plead your case that you could change and were worthy of keeping around. Not for a moment had you expected to come out and find that the witch had redone the room into an entirely sensory friendly experience just for you.
“I- what’s all this?” You could very well see, but you wanted verbal confirmation, not trusting yourself, as always.
Wanda spoke and you didn’t think you had ever heard her voice this soft.
“Darling, you were having a hard time. I just wanted to make things easier for you, so I made the room a bit more… friendly.. for you. What good are all these powers of mine, if I don’t use them to help the one I love most?”
Your throat tightened at that four lettered word.
“You didn’t have to go through all this trouble.” I’m not worth it, went unsaid, but as usual Wanda knew.
“Of course I did, detka. You mean everything to me. I’m sorry for not realizing you were hurting earlier and just barging into the shower with you. I should have asked. I didn’t, I just assumed, and I’m sorry. You were just trying to decompress, and I made it so much worse for you. That’s never what I want for you, lyubov.”
Wanda sat on the chaise lounge, wanting nothing more than to take you into her arms, and hold you until all your bad feelings went away, but this was about what you needed, not what she wanted. So she waited for you.
With tentative steps, you walked further into the room, taking it all in. How could you have thought moments ago that this wonderful woman would ever possibly throw you out? How many ways could she say and demonstrate that she loved you and was here for you?
A few steps more and you were within arm's length of the redhead. Wanda observed you curiously as your lower lip trembled and your eyes watered. Before she could ask you what was the matter, you threw yourself at her. Only a decade of Avenger honed reflexes enabled her to catch you in her arms, preventing the pair of you from tumbling to the floor. Lightly muscle arms held to her as you cried into her neck, your entire body wracked with sobs.
Comforting words in her native Sokovian were muttered softly in your ear as Wanda held you. One hand behind your head pressed you firmly but gently into her neck, the other ran soothing ministrations up and down your back. It wasn’t long before you had cried yourself out, laying exhaustively in her arms, only whimpering occasionally.
“Malyshka, do you want to get into the bed and make a nice nest?”
Stubbornly you shook your head. That would involve parting from Wanda, and you didn’t want to do that. Wanda was solace. Wanda was safe. Wanda… was home.
Said woman chuckled at your rather loud, if childlike thoughts. Too precious. She was grateful the little research she had been able to do while you were in the shower had paid off. There hadn’t been much time, but fortunately thanks to Wanda’s magic, it hadn’t taken her long to get everything ready.
“What if I get in bed with you, malysh?”
A pause as you contemplated. Finally, you gave a single nod in acceptance. You made no move to get up though. If Wanda wanted to get you into bed, she could finagle that herself, but you weren’t willingly leaving her arms unless it was over your cold, dead body.
Though you weren’t able to see it, the witch rolled her eyes fondly at your antics. Fortunately, the same training which afforded her superior reflexes also improved her overall fitness and strength. She was no Thor, but Wanda could certainly lift you with relative ease, and so she did, carrying you over to the bed. With some awkward shuffling, she eventually had you both situated comfortably. Initially Wanda had set you as the little spoon, your go to position for cuddling. However, it only took a moment for you to decide that was not what you wanted, and you swiftly rectified the situation by rolling over and burying yourself in her arms, wiggling happily.
A surprised giggle left the older woman, but she loved when you got like this. How tactile you could be. It wasn’t possible for your bodies to be physically closer unless they were literally fused together, but you were clearly bent on trying to be. The former avenger could feel your fingers periodically flexing against her sweater (specifically chosen due to its soft texture in the hopes it wouldn’t irritate should it come into contact with you), unable to actually pull her any closer, but squeezing anyway.
No words were spoken for some time. Without moving, and therefore no access to a phone or watch, Wanda couldn’t say for certain exactly how much time had passed, but it was probably at least an hour if not a bit more. She had planned more for your evening, but with how content you were in her arms, the world could be on fire and she wouldn’t dare move you. Your eyes had closed a long time ago, breathing evened out. One could almost mistake you for having fallen asleep if it weren’t for how every so often you would nuzzle under Wanda’s chin. Every time you did, her heart melted. She was glad you were feeling better, and if you never got to go on the rest of the date tonight, that was just fine with her.
You however, had not forgotten. This lovely nest Wanda had created for you had done the trick. Well, that and cuddling with your favorite person. You weren’t sure what time it was, but you hoped it wasn’t too late. Lethargically, you disentangled your limbs from the witch’s so you could stretch and yawn (if Wanda’s intrusive thoughts to poke your tongue with her finger almost won, well, that was her business).
“Hey Wands?” You asked quietly, not wanting to break the spell of comfort entirely just yet.
“Yes, detka?”
“I don’t know what else you had planned for today, but if it’s not too late, can we still go out?”
Unbeknownst to you, even if it had been too late, Wanda had the capability to turn back time, such was the magnitude of her powers, but she wouldn’t bother you with that just now. Instead, she smiled at your eagerness.
“Of course, lyubov. Are you sure you’re up for it though? You don’t have to do that for me, if you want to stay here for the rest of the night and cuddle, that’s perfectly alright by me.” Hooking her index finger beneath your chin, she tilted your face to make eye contact with you, gauging your reaction to her words.
Ever the considerate one, you thought fondly.
“I’m sure. I was really excited to go, and if it’s alright with you, I would like to still go, please?”
Sensing your sincerity, Wanda grinned and crawled out of bed with you, helping you out when your foot got tangled in the sheets and had stumbled.
“I would love to, Y/N. Look in the closet for something semi-formal, and we can head out.”
Semi-formal? Where were you going? One of these days this woman was going to spill the beans, or you were going to tickle it out of her, you thought boldly.
The witch whirled back to arch an eyebrow at you daringly. Gulping, you acquiesced that formal was fine, asking instead how long you had to get ready. Technically you had all the time in the world, but Wanda gave you a timeline of about an hour for expediency's sake.
As Wanda left you to get ready, though where she went, you weren’t sure, you both shared a bedroom. However, when you opened the closet, it became clear the woman must have used her magic to transform it for you - everything in it was to your taste. There must be another closet for her elsewhere in the house. Or maybe she didn’t even need a closet? Perhaps she could simply conjure her clothing around herself, you were pretty certain you had seen her do that once after a shower with pajamas. You appreciated that she was allowing you to pick your own outfit, realizing she could simply dress you herself.
Heat bloomed across your cheeks, finding the thought more appealing than you probably should. It was healthy to have some level of independence in a relationship, right? Somewhere in the recesses of your mind the initials of a lifestyle pricked at your curiosity, but you pushed them back. You weren’t… one of those people, and surely neither was Wanda. Even if… part of you wondered what could be.
Disregarding such thoughts, you focused on perusing the closet in search of something to wear for the evening. Semi-formal, semi-formal. how convenient that the entire closet was filled with such attire, all in different cuts, styles, and colors. Half tempted as you were to find the witch and see what she was going to be wearing so you could compliment her, you deigned instead to trust in her instincts. Wanda never let you down, and even if you clashed, there were plenty of other options for you to change into.
Eventually you settled on a soft charcoal blazer, cream button up, the top two buttons left undone, dark grey chinos cuffed at the bottom, and black Oxfords. Briefly you debated on a tie, but Wanda had said semi-formal, so you thought the tie might be too much. To touch it up a little though, you added a classic silver and black Rolex Daytona, and a few of your black rings. A look at yourself in the mirror, and honestly, you felt pretty good.
Lately that has been the case. You wouldn’t say you couldn’t recall the last time you looked in the mirror and felt the need to vomit at your appearance, you absolutely could, and it was recently. These days though weren’t nearly as bad as it had been in the past, and they were definitely occurring less often than you were used to. The last time it had happened, Wanda had held your hair back while you emptied out the contents of your stomach into the toilet, rubbing soothing circles onto your back. By then she was long familiar with these episodes, and they broke her heart for you.
So ingrained was your mothers scathing, hateful voice in your brain that it had practically become your own. Often whispering vile, untrue and derogatory words, belittling yourself to the point of making yourself physically ill. The witch could only imagine what that must have been like growing up hearing all of it in person from someone who was supposed to have provided you with words of love and support instead.
Now though, you felt pretty dapper. Lightly mussed hair, a crooked grin upon your lips, eyes sparkling with happiness, one might even say you looked dashing. A thrill ran through you at your appearance, and that you were even capable of admitting it to yourself that you weren’t totally trash. Pleased overall with your appearance, you took a gander at your watch for the time - definitely early. You set off in search of your favorite person, hoping to catch her with enough time to see what she was wearing in case you needed to change because what you were wearing clashed with her outfit (poor you, grey goes with just about everything, apparently).
You didn’t have to search far, in the living room watching her shows was Wanda. Mouth suddenly dry, you struggled to swallow. You thought her outfit for your last date had been unfairly attractive on her - what she was wearing now should be a crime against your libido. Mommy? Sorry.
Crushed velvet blood red blazer, white button up done all the way to the collar, the length of the cuffs exaggerated extending beyond the blazer. Her legs were crossed, drawing your attention to her pants which were made of the same material and color as the blazer and tapered nicely to her ankles, leading your eye line to her beige heels. You gulped loudly, drawing the woman’s attention to your presence.
She took a moment to look upon your form appreciatively, eyes dark. “You look very handsome, detka.”
“Sdjka error..” you whispered to yourself quietly, not realizing this was an outside thought.
The redhead full on belly laughed and you blushed furiously, wishing the floor would swallow you whole.
Not wanting you to remain too embarrassed for long, Wanda stood to embrace you, kissing your cheek. “Thank you, for the compliment” she couldn’t resist one last tease before wrapping her arm low around your waist, settling her hand on your hip.
You just mumbled, letting her move you as she saw fit, before finally being able to speak again properly. “You look amazing, Wands, truly.”
Her smile could power a small sun.
“Are you ready, lyubov?”
Excitement returned as you remembered what you were dressed up for. Subtly you tried to contain your bounces to a minimum, settling for a small wiggle. “Please?”
The telltale portal appeared before you and Wanda escorted you through. First thing you were able to tell, it was noticeably cooler than the one you set foot through this morning. Not Australia then. You tried not to show your relief. The country was beautiful, and you loved petting the cows, and the horses, but.. you did not want to go back too soon. The faintest scent of the ocean invaded your nostrils - it wasn’t likely in walking distance, but this was definitely an oceanic city.
A quiet tree-lined street, the sounds of traffic were distant. A brick lined building stood out, with a brass plaque along it, in elegant text: Quince. It must be a restaurant, likely Italian if you had to guess. Arm still wrapped around your waist, Wanda led you in its direction, and you followed your shepherd. Ever the gentlewoman, she opened the door, gesturing for you to proceed. As you entered into the vestibule, you saw the maître d’, decked out to the nines waiting for you expectantly. Panicked, you froze, having no idea what name the reservation was under. A people person, you were not, you didn’t even make your own doctor appointments if you didn’t have to.
Fortunately for you, Wanda was immediately back by your side, and to your surprise, the man seemed to be expecting her. “Ah, Ms. Maximoff, right on time! This way, please.”
You looked at her quizzically. How could you be on time after everything? Oh. Right. Magic. A wizard is never late, he arrives precisely when he means to, you quoted silently to yourself and tried not to chuckle at your Lord of the Rings reference.
“Thank you, Jacobsson. Come on, detka.” Her arm was back around your waist, gently pulling you along behind the maître d’ as he led you through the restaurant. From the plaque and the man’s attire alone you had guessed the place was fancy, but you’d had no idea what you were about to walk into. Entering into the main dining area, the walls lined with brick, accented with beautifully stained mahogany, but what really stood out were the chandeliers that peppered the ceiling. Those couldn’t have been cheap glass. You squinted. Those had to be real crystal. Shit, how fucking expensive was this place? You looked at Wanda, attempting to sus out just where she had brought you.
As usual, the older woman gave nothing away, hers a perfect poker face. Knowing you would get nothing from her, you continued to take in the restaurant. Seemed a bit odd that no one else was there.
Suddenly Jacobsson began speaking, drawing your attention back. “Quince first opened it’s doors in 2003 by Chef Michael Tusk and his wife, Lindsay, in Pacific Heights. The restaurant moved in January 2023, highlighting the 20-year anniversary, to our current location here in Jackson Square, which incidentally is next door to our sister restaurant, Cotogna. Quince is one of only five other restaurants in California to boast three Michelin stars. (ehhh, google had conflicting info on all of this, suspend your disbelief) Here at Quince, we abide by a farm-to-table ethos in creating our contemporary Northern Italian cuisine. Chef Tusk works with ingredients from local farmers, ranchers, fishmongers and creameries—building on relationships that, in some cases, reach back 20 years. What’s more, the chef does much of the food shopping himself, often traveling to nearby Marin County for meat, produce and eggs.”
Oh. That… explained so much. Jesus Christ, you didn’t want to know how much this place was going to cost. Not that you were going to be able to tell - places like this didn’t post the prices on their menus. It wouldn’t matter, Wanda was never going to dream of letting you contribute, much less pay, which to be fair, what little funds you had left were dwindling from the last few times she had agreed to compromise and let you contribute. There wasn’t much left for you to make a dent in anything.
Sensing your anxiety, as always, the hand on your waist gripped a little tighter, thumb running soothingly up your side. Soon enough Jacobsson had brought you to your table. There wasn’t any place inside that could be considered secluded, the restaurant seated a mere ten tables. Since there weren’t any other guests though, combined with the ambiance of the lighting against the dark mahogany, the vibe felt very intimate.
The redhead pulled out your chair for you, pushing you in once you had gotten comfortable in it before taking her own seat. Jacobsson handed you both your menus, informing you that your waiter would arrive shortly, and the chef would be out in a little while to greet you. Once the man left, you turned to Wanda, eyes wide almost accusing.
“Madam!” Your voice was playful but exasperated.
Wanda’s in turn dripped with faux innocence. “What is it, detka?”
“You know very well what it is. Three Michelin starred restaurant? No one else here, and the host just gives us the whole restaurant’s history and then the freaking chef is going to introduce himself to us?! I know you have a black card, Wands, and I know we never exactly discussed your financial situation, but do I even want to know how much all this cost for you just to arrange, let alone the dinner?”
The witch considered you, weighing the likelihood of your actually being upset versus just not used to being spoiled. “Dorogoya, I want to spoil you, why are you concerned with money? I have more than enough to cover it?”
A strangled noise escaped your throat. “It’s not that I doubt if you have the funds, Wands, I just.. it’s a lot of money to be spending on me. I don’t have any way to repay you, and I could never afford to treat you to something this nice. It feels… uneven.”
The root cause of your concerns were two-fold, and Wanda understood. Hoping to alleviate your concerns, she explained. “Y/N, first of all, there is never an amount of money that is too much to spend on you. You deserve the world, and as I will continue to tell and show you over and over again, one day you will believe me. It brings me joy to spoil you. I don’t want nor expect you to “repay” me, as you put it. I can understand how you might view my treating you to such extravagances as “uneven”, but detka, you provide me with so much more with just your presence than money could ever provide. I don’t need you to take me out to a fancy dinner to make me feel loved.”
You bristled slightly. “And you think that I do?”
Wanda sighed, gathering her thoughts to explain. “Of course not, lyubov. You know of.. Americans say “love languages”? One of my preferred methods to show how much I care is to give gifts. It is not the only method, simply one of many. I know however that it is more about how you prefer to receive love, but I also know that I cover those you prefer with words of affirmation, physical touch, and quality time. So please, Y/N, indulge me in this? It makes me happy to make you happy. Unless you’re telling me it doesn’t make you happy? In which case I will respect you of course, and we can leave immediately.”
When the witch looked at you so earnestly, how could you help but give in? It was a nice gesture, and when would you ever get an opportunity to go to any of the places she had taken you to otherwise? Really, you felt a little shitty, like maybe you were spitting in the face of her generosity.
“Okay, Wands. But since we are on that topic, I wanted to speak with you a bit about having some more equality in our relationship?”
If it were physically possible, Wanda’s heart would have sunk into her stomach. Desperately she tried to think of what you could be referring to. In what ways were you unequal? Honestly, there were several, but that was a pill she wasn’t ready to swallow. But you were looking at her so timidly, afraid of her reply, and wasn’t that exactly what she didn’t want? Swallowing harshly, the woman nodded, prepared to ask you to elaborate when the waiter arrived.
He introduced himself as Matteo and asked for your drink orders. Afraid of what was coming, you surprisingly ordered a double shot margarita, feeling the need for some liquid courage. Wanda on the other hand, felt the need to keep a cool head, so she stuck with water, and a simple Chardonnay that was mostly for appearance’s sake. Matteo then read off the specials and left the pair of you to your devices.
An uncomfortable silence overtook the table. This was not what Wanda had envisioned for the night, and you felt terrible for ruining things. Still, if you didn’t bring it up while you were thinking about it, you never would. You were like that, bring it up in the moment, or never. Or rather, bring it up 4 months later after stewing on it to the point of explosive anger, and neither of you deserved that.
Eventually Wanda broke the silence. “So, you mentioned… equality in the relationship?”
“Oh, yes.” Slowly you took a steadying breath. This conversation could go one of two ways. Wanda had made such good progress with you and being less controlling, but had she made enough to make this request work?
“So in every healthy relationship,” you stressed the word healthy. “People do things like go to work, or school, or see friends.”
Wanda tensed. She thought you were passed this. She really didn’t want to have to forcefully block such impulses from your mind, that felt… like blocking off a crucial part of what made you, well, you. Begrudgingly she listened, if only to buy herself time to formulate an argument against it.
“I’m not asking to go back home, or anything like that. I’m just asking if like.. I would like to feel productive, I guess? I want to learn some new skills. I get that you said I don’t need a job, and I’m trusting you on that. But there are things I would like to learn simply because I would like to know more about them. To add to that, I would also like to have my own money to buy small things I like when we are out.”
Wanda started to interrupt, but Y/N held up her hand, and Wanda bit her cheek.
“I know, you want to pay for everything, and for the most part I have tried to let you. Please understand though that it makes me sort of uncomfortable to allow you to pay for absolutely every single thing. Plus then when I want to buy something for you, it’s with your own money and that just seems wrong to me. I want to buy you something with the money that I’ve earned.”
It killed her inside, but the witch nodded for you to continue. Pleased that she hadn’t exploded, you hurried to get out what was probably going to kill the whole deal.
“Lastly, I… I want to make friends, Wanda.”
Eye twitch. It didn’t go unnoticed, and you rushed your next sentence before she could change her mind and stop you.
“It’s just not healthy to only have each other. I really like you, like.. so, so much. I love spending time with you more than anything else in the world and I don’t want you to think that I would ever rather spend time with anyone else. But I also know that we have to have other people in our lives, or we’ll sour our own relationship, so if we could please try making friends? I’m not even asking to make friends separately!”
At this point you were about to beg. “We could look for a couple friends and go on double dates and stuff! Wouldn’t that be cute?” You appealed to her weakness: your nearly undeniable puppy eyes.
Silence stretched for what felt like infinity while Wanda considered all you had said. Finally, she opened her mouth to respond, when the Chef came out to introduce himself.
He was a very nice man, and spoke for a few minutes about the menu, where the ingredients were sourced that day, and how happy he was that she had chosen his restaurant. He hoped she would enjoy their dinner and told her if there was anything they didn’t like to please not hesitate to let him know and he would make it right. Wanda politely conversed and agreed, and at any other time she would have probably thoroughly enjoyed his conversation but right now she just wanted him to be gone. She should just stop time right now and hash this out but she didn’t want to risk ruining anything by being hasty.
When the chef left, Wanda could have cheered. Instead, she took a breath to settle her thoughts. As much as she hated to admit it, you made valid, rational points. These were all things you really wanted, enough to withstand several memory wipes, enough to bring it up with her, and so timidly knowing she would probably be upset. The last time that you had brought it up and she hadn’t wiped you, she had shot you down non too graciously. It wasn’t that she had blown up, per se, rather she had completely shut the conversation down.
Wanda weighed her options. She could wipe you, yet again, but at this point she was only putting off the inevitable. She could force the independence out of you, erasing that part of your identity. She could shut the conversation down once again, and as passive as you were, that would buy her time. There was no doubt in her mind though you would come to resent her for it, as you would the other options should they ever to light. Alternatively, Wanda could agree to your terms. With some caveats, of course.
“Okay.”
“Please, Wans, just think ab- wait, okay?”
“Okay. These are clearly things that would make you happy. Things you really want. I want you to be happy detka, so... Okay.”
You cheered, but the witch cut in.
“But! I do have some conditions. I still have enemies out there who would hurt you to get to me, and I can’t risk anything happening to you. Will you hear my conditions?”
Of course you would. You didn’t think Wanda would even let you get this far. “Yes!”
She chuckled at your enthusiasm. “As far as school goes, I’d prefer for you to do online classes at home.”
Your head tilted. “Online? But we don’t have any internet?”
Wanda sighed. She owed you the truth, and it was time she shared at least some of it with you.
“I may have told you a half truth when I brought you to our home, dorogoya. I’m not proud of it, but I didn’t want you to know how much time was passing, so I blocked off all network connectivity to our home while you were adjusting. I was afraid you would be too focused on needing to go home instead of getting to know me, but… if wanting to learn is something you are passionate about, I can arrange for you to have access to online courses.”
Green eyes peered at you through long lashes, waiting for you to lash out at her for her deception. It never came. You understood, even if you didn’t agree with it. After the incident with her cellphone’s notification several months ago, you had suspected as much and now she had just confirmed it. In the end it had been to your benefit though, so could you really be mad if the ends justifies the means? You chose to ignore the way she glossed over the fact that she effectively kidnapped you and held you hostage, finding her preference of the word “adjusting” almost amusing. Stockholm syndrome was a real thing, but you didn’t believe what you had with Wanda could be attributed to that. Well. Not now at any rate.
“Okay, I agree to that. Can I pick the classes I want to take?”
Blinking, confused, Wanda asked “Why would you ask me that? They’re your classes.”
Your silence spoke volumes, and Wanda once again internally raged against your deceased parents, wishing she could kill them yet again. “You can pick whatever classes you want, detka. They’re yours to take.”
A small, happy smile graced your lips.
“Regarding your job.”
The smile dropped. You waited for the caveat.
“No more than 10 hours a week, and they can’t interfere with your classes. If your grades start dropping, you have to drop the job, understood?”
Eagerly, you nodded. Those seemed like perfectly reasonable boundaries, ones you would probably even set for yourself. What you didn’t know was that whatever job you got, Wanda was going to make sure your manager adhered to that allotted ten hours, no more, they would only ever be a set schedule for when you weren’t having classes, and Wanda wasn’t putting up with any of that minimum wage bullshit. If she had to pay you out of her own pocket, you need never know. No one was taking advantage of you if she could help it, and fortunately for you, she had all the power to ensure it.
“As for the friends, I… suppose… we could look into that. I’m not a very sociable creature, Y/N, you know this. But for you, I will try. Just don’t expect a lot too soon, okay? Let’s get everything else going, see where we stand then and go from there, okay?”
Elation filled you. If asked, you would have said you could have walked on air. Wanda was trying so hard for you. She really was perfect. Obviously she had flaws, like everyone, but where it counted, she was perfect.
“I love you.”
Silence.
You both stared at each other. Those words were not meant to be uttered aloud by you just now. Inside thoughts, and all that. But seeing Wanda try so hard for you, more than the restaurant, more than the outings she arranged for you, it was these compromises she had just agreed to which sealed her into your heart. Such concessions must have been weighing heavily on her, and once upon a time the woman could have either blown up or shut you down, but instead here she was trying to make compromises. With fairly reasonable ones at that, all because she knew it would make you happy.
You loved Wanda. You knew that to your core, and to be honest, you had known for a while. It was clear Wanda had loved you as well, she had certainly made no secret about it. From the way she spoke to you, cared for you, helped you. You felt it in the way she crafted experiences with your enjoyment in mind, in the way she touched you.
This wasn’t how you had planned on telling her. You’d wanted to save up some money first and take her out on a nice date in return, make some grand gesture, as opposed to ungracefully blurting it out after a super serious discussion. Nevertheless, the words were out there, and you didn’t want to take them back.
“I love you, Wanda. With all my heart.” Gently, you took her hand in yours on the table, holding it as you gazed into her eyes letting her see the truth of your words for herself.
Words Wanda had longed to hear from the moment she’d laid eyes on you in this universe didn’t hit her like a train she often daydreamed. They rolled over her like the relieving mist of summer’s rain against her skin on a hot day. The air, once heavy and oppressive, was replaced by a crisp invigorating coolness, leaving a trail of relief in its wake, washing away the tension. Scars long burnt into her heart were soothed and eased by your words.
Lashes fluttered closed as a lone tear rolled down her cheek. Alarmed, you leapt from your chair to kneel in front of the older woman, using your thumb to wipe away the tear. Of all the reactions you expected to your words, this was not one of them. Before your anxiety could run away with you though, Wanda’s hand shot up to clutch yours, pressing both yours and hers more firmly onto her face before she opened her eyes to gaze at you lovingly.
“Happy tears, lyubov,” she whispered.
“Oh.”
Slowly, as if afraid you might startle like a baby deer, the witch leaned into your personal space until her lips were but a breath from your own. She glanced from your eyes to your lips, and back. “I love you too, Y/N”
It was the softest kiss you had ever received. There was no heat, just a simple pressing of lips against each other, knowing the truth had finally been admitted to both of you.
A quiet clearing of the throat came from the side. You both parted to see Matteo had returned to take your order. To your surprise, you weren’t the only one who blushed this time. With a grin, you took your seat, letting Wanda order for you as usual.
The rest of your dining experience was a blur, which would be disappointing for such a treat, but given how Wanda enjoyed spoiling you, it stood to reason you would be returning to this restaurant soon. Dinner was filled with heated glances and teasing touches. The air was thick with anticipation. Normally you would probably be miffed about your meal containing such tiny portions but at this point you weren’t sure how much you could eat. In truth, you wished Wanda would just get the check so you could leave. That would be incredibly rude to the chef though, and he seemed really nice.
After what seemed like an age, dinner was finished. The chef came out once again to chat, which fortunately was brief, and thanked Wanda for her patronage. When she stood up to leave, you realized she had pre-paid in advance. Likely very handsomely, which made the entire evening make more sense. You were relieved as that meant you could go now, no need to wait.
Wanda casually tossed a roll of bills on the table for gratuity and once again led you out of the restaurant though you noticed her hand had drifted far lower, resting possessively on your ass. A shiver rolled down your spine as you considered what awaited you when you got home.
A/N: Fashion: I hate it. Google. Had to do much googling of formal fucking attire (straight cheated and looked up Elizabeth Olsen outfits for Wanda). And thEN!! I had to try to figure out how to describe it! Honestly, I really just wanted to go by brands because that made more sense to me than “it’s a chino”. Okay?? That looks like a colored jean?? Tf is a chino? I have no idea wtf I’m doing. If it doesn’t come on a mannequin, idk how to put it together. I literally have to take pictures in the store so once I get it home, going forward I can wear it again. Don’t ask me the amount of money I have wasted on outfits I thought I would remember to put together later that I absolutely did not, and then never wore again (looking at you red and gold plaid slacks - what am I supposed to do with you??? Why???). For the love of god, someone please style me for the rest of my life. I’ll give you my credit card. Jk, I have no money :’( I’ll write you shitty fanfiction??? I realized too late that Wanda’s hair is red for this. Can red hair and red clothes go together? I’m sure, yes? I spent too much time googling that and then… Questioned my life choices.
A/N 2: Some of this is based on my own life experience (some exaggerated for story purposes or changed to protect them and or myself) with family but before anybody flames my mother, please note that she has gone to therapy, and has (as I have gotten into my mid 30s) made changes, apologies, and supported me in my own growth and journey. I want to be clear; I do not wish my mother was dead, but creative writing can be it’s own form of therapy, and I’m writing this from my perspective from when I was in my early 20’s.

Otherside Picnic (manga) vol. 12, bonus chapter
Bonus Chapter: Flashback to That Night
“...Hey, Sorawo.”
Nishina Toriko had been quiet for a while, as I was thinking she was making an odd expression as she opened her mouth, her next words were “What should we do about the wrap-up party?” for a moment, Kozakura lost the thread of the conversation.
...Hm?
Kamikoshi Sorawo, like Kozakura, was looking at Toriko quizzically. Seeing those looks, Toriko added, as if making an excuse,
“Look, we went into the Otherside this time too, right? Then we’ve gotta have a wrap party.”
If you didn’t know anything about these two’s usual routine, this addition wouldn’t serve as much of a justification, but with that Kozakura was able to reorient herself within the conversation. Toriko and Sorawo have a habit of going out for food and drinks after coming back from exploration of the Otherworld, and calling it a ‘wrap party’. To Kozakura, who’s so afraid of the Otherside that she can’t help herself, the exploration that serves as a precondition to this celebrating is already so abnormal that she couldn’t imagine wanting to celebrate it, but on the other hand, she could undertstand it a bit. As a sort of ritual of return to daily life from a dangerous environment full of fear, the idea of a wrap party didn’t seem like such a bad idea.
Perhaps the reason why she felt that way was because she herself was in need of such a ritual.
As she lifted her gaze, her eyes met with Migawa, who was standing with butler-like good posture. As if reading her thoughts, he nodded once. After finishing the rest of her tea, she set the cup down on the table with a clack.
“All right! Got it! Let’s go eat some meat!”
The two girls on the sofa looked up at her in surprise.
“Eh? But I don’t have that kind of money.”
Hearing Sorawo say something so timid brought an involuntary laugh to Kozakura’s lips. She trapises into the Otherside without a thought, but she’s afraid of an expensive meal.
“This time, I’ll treat you-- You did save me after all.”
We settled on the meat bar in front of the Shakujii Park station for our celebration. Ordinarily, Kozakura was not much of a meat-eater, but right now she felt like her body was craving some animal protein.
It had only been three days since she and Sorawo were abducted off of the street. Just three days! In that short span, entirely too many things have transpired.
Getting kidnapped is a big enough deal on its own, but then they were brought to a ruin in the middle of the mountains of Hannou. The person waiting for them there was a 4th-kind contactee, and had the ability to brainwash anyone with the sound of her voice.
Urumi Runa-- the teenage wannabe streamer.
Just remembering it sent a shiver down her spine. It was a terrifying voice. Far beyond the domain of ASMR, this voice from the Otherside rendered anyone who heard it a literal prisoner.
Urumi Runa brainwashed untold dozens of people with it, and made a cult centering around worshiping her. Kozakura was interrogated by Runa’s voice, and made to spit out everything she knew.
That said…
As she watched Sorawo and Torako across the table choosing from the wine menu, Kozaku was spurred into a bittersweet train of thought.
While she might have told her everything she knew, Runa’s questions were mostly about Uruma Satsuki, or well… the version of “Satsuki-sama” that existed exclusively in her mind. And in being asked, Kozakura realized that her knowledge of Satsuki didn’t really amount to much at all.
Ultimately, just what sort of person was she?
As she succumbed to Runa’s voice, that’s all Kozakura could think of.
She never did find an answer to that question, and she may never have a chance to get an answer, going forward.
“What drink do you want, Kozakura-san?”
Sorawo’s question brought her back to the present.
“What are you two drinking?”
“We’ve never had rosé before, so we were thinking of trying it.”
“Ah, is that so. I’ll just go with that.”
After she answered, Sorawo wrinkled her brow.
“Are you alright?”
“What do you mean?”
“You seemed a little bit out of it.”
Kozakura was internally surprised that this girl had developed the capacity to worry about others.
“I’m fine. Well, I am tired, so I might be a bit out of it.”
“Ah…”
The two of them nodded.
“I’m sure you are tired…”
“Thanks for everything, really.”
“You two, too.”
The information Runa wanted to hear about “Satsuki-sama” was, from Kozakura’s perspective, all inconsequential trivialities. Where she lives, what food she likes, whether or not she ever mentioned Runa, whether there were any pet-peeves of hers that she should avoid… While her ability was terrifying, Kozakura understood straightaway that the girl herself was nothing more than a mentally immature fangirl. This realization depressed her more than anything.
After a litany of mostly unanswerable questions and questions to which Kozakura didn’t know the answer, Runa clearly became a bit irritated at the slow going, but when she learned of the existence of Satsuki’s office at DS Research, and that notebooks written by Satsuki herself were stored there, she got excited, and ordered her underlings to to prepare for a raid.
Runa’s impulsive armed forces, driven on enetirely by her voice…While their organizational principles and doctrine were all childish and immature, If you have no way to deal with her voice, they’re quite formidable.
As she was worrying about the safety of the people at DS research, Runa ordered her followers to detain her and handed her over to them.
It was then that Sorawo saved her.
While her consciousness was still hazy from the effects of the questioning, Runa’s followers seemed to have a falling-out, and before she had any idea what was going on Sorawo had saved her and woken her up. While she was a bit disconcerted by how different Sorawo’s aura was from usual, they attempted to escape from the ruins, but…
The wine and ham arrived.
“Wha!? Sorawo, this isn’t sweet!”
“You’re right. This isn’t what I was expecting.”
“But this also tastes good in its own way.”
“It’s nice and refreshing.”
Sorawo and Toriko are surprised at their first time drinking rosé. When they’re relaxing and chatting like this, you could never take them for a woman who mercilessly destroys others’ minds, or a woman who’d raid a cult’s base of operations, assault rifle in hand. Not unlike Urumi Runa, Kozakura felt unease about the mismatch between these girls’ capacity for destruction and the childishness of their mentalities.
However, it’s also true that that immaturity likely saved her. Had they not been so foolhardy, she may not have made it out of that situation.
Their escape attempt came to a dead end, and Kozakura and Sorawo were once again caught in the basement of the ruin. Kozakura, now Runa’s hostage, passed through the gate and was brought into DS Research. Perhaps because she was rendered unable to resist by the voice, her consciousness became vague, as if in a dream.
And then, when she came to, Satsuki was there.
But what stood there was… that, was not Satsuki.
It was some completely different thing, imitating Satsuki’s form. Kozakura understood the the first instant she saw it. Within the empty husk of the woman she’d once loved, some unknown creature was was wearing it and moving it around.
And Toriko was moving toward that monster. While calling Satsuki’s name.
Stop it, Toriko.
Can’t you see? That’s not Satsuki.
From the depths of terror that kept her body frozen, Kozakura desperately clawed her consciousness back together. Summoning up all her irritation at Toriko for not recognizing this Satsuki as a fake, and her fury at Satsuki for trying to involve herself with such a young and immature girl, desperately, she moved her body.
Get yourself together, Sorawo-chan.
Hurry! Grab her! Toriko’ll get taken away!
She squeezed out that shout, and had no memory of what happened after that. When she came to, she was back at DS research.
There was no sign of Satsuki, and Runa was unconscious with her mouth gruesomely torn open.
Kozakura, with her mental and physical energy entirely spent, fell asleep on the spot without being able to take so much as a step-- in fact, she felt like she fell unconscious.
The main thought in her head as her consciousness faded was surprise that Sorawo and Toriko brought her back with them and didn’t abandon her. It was that extreme of a situation.
They might be hopelessly impulsive brats, who’ve matured in bodily terms alone, but they’re good kids. That was Kozakura’s appraisal of the two of them now.
So, well, there’s no harm in treating them to some overpriced steak, just for today.
As she gazed in a generous frame of mind at the two of them eating their meat, suddenly, a scene that she’d forgotten about flashed back across her mind.
Kozakura and Sorawo, having escaped from the cultists, hiding in a narrow locker.
Sorawo’s hand resting on Kozakura’s head as she trembled.
Her head being petted, as if to pacify her.
Over, and over.
Back then… why the hell did this maniac pet her!?
Kozakura couldn’t take her eyes off of Sorawo, who was cutting meat with her knife.
...No, really, why the hell did she do something like that???????
Perhaps sensing her gaze, Sorawo looked up.
The instant before their eyes met, the smartphone on the table began to shake. On the screen was a message from Migawa.
Sorawo looked curiously at her, and Kozakura looked back.
“...It seems like they finished cleaning.”
Kozakura replied, unnecessarily evasively.

Runaway {part 12}

Runaway masterlist
DNI/BYF
Synopsis: some angsty family reunion
also small chapter. Also please read the end note bellow the Taglist
The one day Ronal wished it was a normal day. It wasn’t. She had awoken from her slumber tired. But feeling okay after the night chat she had with her mate.  She was feeling alright. Tonowari Had managed to convince her to join her at the shore.
He had made a little pool for Ateyo. As he splashed him around the water. Ronal figured soon enough he would start to form a life with the water than just swimming here and there
It made her heart beam. She had seen this once before. A long time ago. How she wished she could have Ao’nung in her arms again. Tiny and afraid of the world.
Hearing a cry. She looked to the sky. An Ikran. Her heart sank, Tonowari rushing to her guarding her behind him as he handed her Ateyo.
“Mezu!” She heard lo’ak before seeing him and his brother run to the Ikran.
She then saw them.
Ao’nung was skinny. Ready to crumble bandaged up while his tail bled with the dryness. He looked so ready to meet Eywa. And then her eyes turned to look. You were not any better. You had a certain glow to you.
But aside from that You had this tired look to you. Your eyes were sunken with a tiredness she had never known. Your hair was a mess. Wet and tangled And you looked so…so ready for Eywa too.
“Please” was all you managed to say. Feeling your vision go black, and a hard thud as you made contact with the floor.
Ronal was of course manic. As she yelled for them to rush them to her marui. All your family came of course. It seemed all eyes were on the two of you. As if Pandora fell silent when you had returned home.
Neytiri and Kiri were with her. Trying everything to get you to wake up.
Ronal had no idea what was happening to her son. All she knew was that Her son was suffering. He was running hot on a fever and his breathing was labored. She was horrified, scared and she silently prayed again.
“Srung si ayoeru ma Eywa” She heard Kiri pray as she did everything she could to wake you up.
Jake did the only thing he could think of and called for Norm and Max.
There was nothing that they could do. Ronal could not understand what was happening. She wanted to. So when they showed up she went to ask for guidance.
She only returned to See jake Dragging her son to the ocean.
“What are you doing!”
“Ma Ronal, Be calm it must be done” Tonowari spoke, holding her arms as she tried to take her son in her arms.
But she stood back. For Eywa told her to trust The sully’s
Everything in her was screaming that this was wrong. But she had to bite back her spirit.
Watching as the sea took him. And watched as Jake let him go. The sea drifted back and forth. And it seemed that everyone stood in silence watching his body float.
And then it happened. He began to stir, dipping into the water and rising back as he gasped for air. His eyes looked so sunken in
Void of anything but confusion. “Ma Y/n” He yelled out as he looked around.
Finally meeting eyes with his mother.
All his cuts felt like they stopped burning. It seemed almost all eyes were on him. But those who mattered. He began to cry.
“Sa’nok” he whispered. He felt like a little kid again. He didn't really process how much he missed his family. Finally standing before them. How much they changed. How much he has changed.
He’s grown up in the time he’s been away. No longer a teen.
But still a baby in Ronal’s tired eyes. She Whispered and the wind took her words “Maitan”
Ao’nung could only cry. His wounds no longer cause him pain. Nothing could cause him more pain than seeing the tired look on his parents face.
Ao’nung dragged himself to run to them. Tripping at the sand he had not known for over three years. And fell into his mom’s arms. Crying, heaving a sob that he's held for so long. “Sa’nu”  he sobs out burying himself into his mother’s arms
Like he would do when he was just a young kid. Afraid of the water.
He feels them surround her. His father embraced them together. Protecting them as he always would while his sister and his mother sobbed finally holding him.
“Maitan” His father spoke looking at him finally.
Time had not been kind
But Eywa was in this moment to let him feel so vulnerable
“Come my son. Your mate is not well” Ronal spoke.
How she wished to have this moment last so much longer. Cradle her son as if he were a small babe. But that was not the case. You wouldn’t wake up
Ao’nung saw you. So delicate and ready to crumble too.
In his haze of feeling unwell ill and overall just bad. He hadn’t seen how you were doing, How your face had also sunken in. How your hair wasn’t kept into its neat braids he knew to know.
How small and frail you became.
“We dont know what it is” He could faintly hear the sky people say that were talking to your father.
“Nothing at all?”
“She’s in a comatose state. There’s nothing we can do to wake her”
His ears lowered. As he watched you breathe in and out.
“We dont know for how long she’ll stay this way. Shes malnourished, She’s lacking a lot of vitamins vital to her health and her baby”
“Baby?”
Ao’nung eyes felt heavy. His heart sunk into the pit of his stomach as he watched you.
“Yes. Baby. I know Na’vi anatomy is like human anatomy. But These babies grow bigger and faster. We know how important it is to keep her here with the Tsahik but”
“But we cant be sure when she’ll wake up. Do you know or Trust this Tsahik to keep her life in her hands?”
Ao’nung was confused. HE did trust his mom and he trusted Jake enough to know to make a good judgment on that. But… His mother could do enough. He didn’t trust this Sky person and the avatar with him. But he had to trust him enough for your life’s sakes.
“I do. If anything goes wrong i know i can count on you  to check for me. But i think its time i trust this medicine too”
There was a pregnant pause in the air. But resting his ears on your naval it began to calm him. Peace for once. He couldn’t believe that a small moment in the sea had made him feel so much better. But it hurt his heart to see you look so…dead

[description: Aemond and his family arrive at Winterfell for Rickon Stark's Name Day. There, Aemond meets his daughter, who arouses his desire. I changed some names and facts for the sake of the plot. Viserys is also slightly younger in this version.]
* English is not my first language. Please, do not repost. Enjoy! *
Previous and next parts: Masterlist
_____
Aemond had never felt so fulfilled and happy in his life. He looked at his wife, sleeping in his arms, nestled against his chest, listening to her calm breathing, gently stroking her hair. He knew that they should have gotten up long ago, that the servants must have noticed their absence. He was amused to think that it didn't bother him.
For some reason, he wasn't afraid to tell his father and mother about what he had done. He didn't even feel ashamed, though he should have. He married the woman he wanted, spent the night with her, and felt at peace.
Her soft murmur snapped him out of his thoughts. She snuggled closer to him, and he felt her inhaling his scent. He kissed her hair tenderly, still stroking her head, her contented sigh answered him. They could hear birds chirping outside the keep, a nice cool breeze flowing into the chamber.
Y/N lifted her head to look at him. Her eyes were still hazy from sleep. Her gentle hand touched his cheek tenderly, and he returned her gesture. They both hugged each other's faces, looking at each other in silence. After what seemed like an eternity, he leaned in and brushed his lips.
"Ñuha dōna ābrazȳrys." He whispered and she blushed. She knew the last word meant "wife" because it had come up earlier when he was explaining to her what the priest would say at their wedding ceremony.
Aemond had then greatly appreciated her confession that she wished he would teach her the language of his ancestors. He decided that it was indeed a skill worth and desired in his future wife. Aemond pursed his lips as he saw her brows furrow at the realization of what they had done.
***
He warned her that he wanted to talk to his parents himself, and that if they asked her anything later, she was to claim that he forced her to marry. That he told her that if she didn't, he would break off their engagement.
Lady Stark didn't like the idea of throwing everything at him, fearing that her parents and brother would never forgive him. But she had no better idea how to solve it.
When they finally appeared in the royal part of the keep, Ser Criston immediately approached them, clearly frightened.
"My prince, my Lady, where have you been? The queen and the king were very scared when they found out that you disappeared, they already wanted to plan a search and…”
"Tell the king and queen that their son wants to see them alone." Aemond said dryly, Y/N looked at him scared, her lips pursed. He didn't even glance at her as Criston nodded, and the two of them started walking towards the king's chamber.
The queen jumped up from her seat at the sight of him, avoiding the table, her face a mixture of horror and relief. She squeezed her son's shoulders as if to make sure he was okay. She shook her head, looking at him questioningly.
"Aemond, where have you been? What happened?" She asked, clearly hoping to hear a good explanation for the whole situation. Aemond stared at her calmly, his face stony.
"I married her, mother."
Alicent frowned at him in disbelief. She opened her mouth and closed it, looking at her husband-king, who was staring at his son as surprised as she was. The queen swallowed, looking at him in horror.
"What do you mean by 'married'?" She asked, her voice trembling and full of disbelief.
“I married her in the tradition of my Valryian ancestors and took her to be my wife. I consummated our marriage by taking her to my bed." He answered without a trace of embarrassment or fear. It amazed him how confident he felt, how little he cared what they thought. It was too late and there was nothing they could do about it.
Alicent placed a hand on her chest as if to calm her pounding heart. Only now did she notice the cut on his lips. She shook her head, unable to believe what he was saying. She decided that her most prudent son had lost his mind.
"What are we going to tell her parents now? That you disgraced her while she was under our protection? That you took her like some common wench?" She asked, almost screaming in despair. Viserys rose from his chair, sighing heavily.
"Alicent, it's done. The fiery Targaryen blood went to his head, not he first and not the last. Why be so mad? They're going to get married anyway." He said, slightly amused. Aemond stared at him in shock. His father never stood up for him. Alicent stared at him in disbelief.
"So what do you think we should do? Keep quiet?" She asked annoyed and waved her hand impatiently. "Pretend to her parents that nothing happened?"
The king stepped closer to them with an effort, leaning against the table. Every step seemed to cause him pain.
"What would you like to do? What good will this information do for them and for us? It seems to me that my son, since he knew how to take his wife to bed, also knows how to prevent her from becoming pregnant yet." He said, looking at his son expectantly, raising his eyebrows. Aemond felt himself crimson with shame and looked down.
"Yes, Father." He replied quietly.
Viserys nodded and looked at his queen-wife.
“Even if something happens, there's always moon tea. I know you often ask our maester to produce it for our second son, my dear wife." He said kissing her hand. Alicent's lip quivered as if she was about to cry. “Just look at them. They're still kids. In love with each other, fire pulses through their veins. In a few months they will marry in Sept. Hasn't our son suffered enough pain and humiliation already?"
***
Y/N jumped in place as Aemond suddenly entered her chamber. They stared at each other with wide eyes for a moment, then threw themselves into each other's arms.
Lady Stark clung tightly to her husband, fearing the worst - that the queen would order her to return to Winterfell. To her delight, it turned out to be quite the opposite. She will stay in Kings Landing until their wedding and will be given a chamber next to her husband.
Aemond told her everything. The king informed their closest servants that they were married and should be treated as such. However, they could not tell anyone else. Viserys promised them that if this information leaked in any way, he would have their tongues ripped out one by one.
The king said he would talk to Lord Stark and his wife himself and figure something out. Aemond couldn't believe his father had treated him so kindly. After all, he came to him once more, to show his gratitude for his support at least in a few words. He felt he owed him it. Viserys looked at him, tired.
"I know I haven't been a good father to you. I didn't support you when you asked me for her hand. You can count on me this time, my son."
***
The two weeks flew by quickly, leaving only four days until Aegon and Helaena's wedding. Lords from all over the country were slowly coming to the capital, every evening boisterous feasts and dances were organized. The entire fortress was full of excited voices and visitors.
Only Aemond, Lady Stark, the king, queen, and their closest servants knew that their chambers were connected by a passage in the painting. This meant that, even though they had promised the queen they wouldn't, they spent the nights together.
Aemond did not allow his servants to enter his chamber without permission in the evening and in the morning, because he knew that his wife would be waiting for him in bed. The sight of her, lying in a see-through nightgown, smiling at him, woven into his sheets made him hard right away.
Practically every night he fucked her, and when she was too sore from their raptures, he spent the nights with his face between her thighs. They pleased each other and slept completely naked.
Aemond did not allow a situation where his wife could fall asleep next to him in even a piece of clothing. He loved the feel of her skin pressed against him, her heartbeat, her warm breath.
They were both learning to touch each other's bodies, looking for interesting positions and enjoying everything they could. To his and her delight, they teased each other constantly, their shameless and unholy words driving each other insane.
Aemond knew that their love was fiery, and that he would never have known that pleasure with any other woman. Lady Stark read him like an open book and, to his despair, used all his weaknesses to drive him mad.
Often when they were lying down after their closeness, Aemond would light a candle, take a book, and teach her the Old Valyrian language. She loved those lessons when they were naked, hugging each other.
Aemond read her individual sentences, then translated them. Then she tried to pronounce it, imitating his accent. They read short phrases together, and when a word she already knew came up, he questioned her about its meaning, so that she would consolidate her knowledge. To his satisfaction, she was very eager to learn and had an easy time recreating the correct sounds.
When they were alone, he sometimes spoke to her in that language as well, wanting her to get used to the sound of it. To his delight, she was able to formulate simple answers on her own, and she delivered them flawlessly.
One afternoon during training, he couldn't concentrate after she'd told him earlier that she'd like to try something different with him. The thought of it excited him greatly. Two hours of fighting seemed like an eternity to him. Even though Criston and he usually had a chat afterward about what they were going to practice the next day, he brushed him off this time, saying he had important think to do.
He entered his chamber, hot and excited. When he saw her body on his bed, how she pushed herself up on her elbows when she saw him, he felt his manhood throbbing wildly in his pants. She must have noticed it, because she smiled, amused.
"You came back early today, husband." She said innocently and softly as she sat down on her lap, only a transparent, thin nightgown on her body. He could clearly see the outline of her breasts, which he now sucked and caressed so often with his mouth. He swallowed hard at the sight and walked over to her, his expression impassive.
He took her chin gently in his hand and lifted it to make her look at him. For all the innocence on her face, he knew what she was capable of. What she said and did with him in bed. His cock throbbed again at the thought.
"What did you want to show me, my sweet wife?" He asked matter-of-factly, trying to hide his excitement, knowing what is really hidden under her sweetness. A vein throbbed hard in his throat, betraying the rapid beating of his heart.
Lady Stark took his hand in hers and kissed it tenderly, reverently. Aemond's mouth dropped open at the sight. She often did that, before and after their intimacy. She constantly showed him her total devotion, which turned him on even more.
She rose on her lap, undoing the buckles of his leather jacket one by one. He swallowed silently at the sight, his fingers brushing lightly over her neck and shoulder. He felt a shiver go through her.
She took off his jacket and shirt and told him to take off his pants. Once he was completely naked in front of her, she pulled him to her and they kissed hungrily, his tongue immediately sliding into her mouth. He was hard all day because of what she told him. Y/N pulled away from him and looked at him excitedly.
"Lie on your back, my prince." She said with a warm smile, her eyes shining. Aemond swallowed hard. Until now, even though he had also taken her from the side and from behind, enjoying the sight of her beautiful body and his cock penetrating her with all his strenght, she had never sat on him.
He didn't want to propose it to her, it reminded him of the whores Aegon had taken him to visit once, and who had ridden him for hours, and he, discouraged, wished only to leave.
But now, with her, her words made him feel hot. He obediently did as she told him. He decided not to take off the blindfold. He did it sometimes when she felt like it, let her take it off whenever she wanted, but he never took it off of his own accord.
Aemond's lips parted lustfully as Lady Stark, looking him straight in the eye, took off her nightgown, leaving her naked, her loose hair swept back.
She scooted over to him and straddled him, pursed her lips in satisfaction. He could see that she had obviously been preparing for this for a long time and wanted to do it very much. The thought turned him on even more.
She noticed this because she smiled in amusement and pressed her warm, wet entrance against his manhood, massaging him up and down. Aemond gasped at the sensation and grabbed her hips, moving with her. He liked being able to see her body in all its glory.
"I thought, my husband, my prince, that I would also like to be a dragonrider." She said quietly and timidly, moving slowly on him, an innocent smile on her face, her hands resting on his chest. Aemond looked at her in surprise and swallowed softly.
"I don't understand, my wife. Do you wish to have your own dragon?" He asked in disbelief, wanting to make sure he understood correctly. He frowned as she laughed lightly at his words.
She rose slightly, taking his manhood in her hand. They both moaned low as she slowly began to lower herself onto him, his tip entering her easily.
"No, my prince. I want to ride the greatest dragon in the Kingdom." She said, teasing him, bouncing up and down a little bit without putting herself all over him. They both gasped at the delicious sensation, his hands tightening on her buttocks, he listened in disbelief.
"You once told me that a dragon cannot be stolen, that it must be tamed." She whispered, lowering herself all over him, and he moaned loudly, throwing his head back slightly. His chest heaved in an uneven rhythm, and he stared at her uncomprehendingly.
"Lykiri, ñuha valzȳrys. Lykiri. (Easy, my husband. Easy.)” She whispered tenderly, seeing how it affected him. She grinned widely as his eye widened in shock. Only now did he understand what she meant.
His jaw clenched, his cock throbbing painfully inside her. He gripped her hips tightly and thrust into her with brutal force, causing both of them to moan loudly in pleasure. He knew, that she decided to drive him insane. He stared at her with his mouth parted, knowing inside himself that she could ride him like that every night.
"How could I deny myself the pleasure of riding the largest dragon in Westeros?" She asked, lowering herself on top of him and rising in a quick, sharp rhythm, the wet sounds of her hot cunt echoing around the room. They both began to breathe louder, he lifted his legs and bent them at the knees, his hands tightening on her buttocks, forcing her to speed up.
"Do you want me to tame you, my husband?" She asked softly, panting heavily, plunging violently against him, stuffing herself to the brim with him, rubbing where she needed it. Aemond watched with his mouth parted as his cock disappeared and reappeared deep inside her with a wet sound.
"Do you want your wife to ride you?” She whispered, her skin glistened with sweat, her lips were slightly parted with desire, a slight smile appeared on her face.
Aemond moaned low at her words and looked at her pleadingly. He fucked her brutally, lowering her hips on himself with great force. He didn't have the strength to lie to her or to himself, he felt wonderful, her words aroused in him an unbearable heat.
"Yes… yes, gods, I want it" He said helplessly, panting heavily, feeling that if he kept going like this, he wouldn't last long. He watched her breasts rise up and down with a wet slap, grabbed one of them in his hand and began to squeeze it, not slowing down, her hot, tight cunt pressing mercilessly on him.
"Dohaeris, valzȳrys (Obey, husband)" She moaned with satisfaction seeing how much he was turned on by what she was doing. He looked at her pleadingly, panting as they fucked hard, their wet bodies hitting each other fast and greedily, his belly wet with her juices. They both moaned loudly, feeling that a few more moves and they would come.
"Qogralbar nyke (Fuck me), Aemond, fuck me, fuck me, fuck me” She moaned almost like a prayer, his animal groan startled both her and him, he pushed his cock inside her a few more times and they both came moving in pleasure, panting and moaning helplessly, their hands clenching their bodies as his hot semen spilled inside her.
"Fuck!" He gasped in despair, throwing his head back, he had never had such a strong orgasm before. He was furious with himself for coming inside her, but he couldn't help it, it felt too good. They both panted as they looked at each other, her hand touching his cheek tenderly.
"Don't worry, my dragon. From the books I read, I learned that a few days before a moon bleeding, a woman has little chance of becoming pregnant. I told you I was well prepared."

Updated "Mohg and Miquella were working together" theory
I wrote a post a while back about my theory that they were, but with rumblings about the DLC possibly coming out soon (some weird stuff on Steam DB updating over the last day), I wanted to compile some of the other stuff I've noticed that's just strange since then as I've gone back through the game.
Before DLC drops and either completely tears this to shreds or not, too, just because.
Because, it turns out, this is a fucking rabbit hole.
Miquella's men know he's gone.
This is actually rather interesting. In the Haligtree soldier ashes, it's explained that the exploding soldiers are Miquella's men who were despairing because of the Haligtree rotting away and Miquella being gone. Their holy light within them that explodes is specifically to lead Miquella back to the Haligtree.
All of the soldiers who are like this in the game are found on the exterior portion of Elphael. They are well-aware he's not there anymore.
But, mind you, they do not leave the Haligtree. Unlike a lot of the other factions, which do have individuals wandering around, they are staying put. They don't send out anyone to search for him. The implication is that they were told to stay there.
Miquella's promise to Malenia.
Miquella made some unstated promise to Malenia. It's heavily implied, though not outright stated, that it has to do with him returning. But the implication that he knew he would be gone, well, in light of other things, raises questions about what "gone" actually meant. Not "oh, I'm going to become a tree person" gone, but "I'm physically not even in the same part of the continent" gone.
The Albinauric guarding the teleporter.
There's an Albinauric in the Consecrated Snowfields guarding the teleporter to the Mohgwyn Palace. Interestingly, this Albinauric uses the spell "Discus of Light." Certain spells are used as a mark of character loyalties, and the Discus is one of them, with Albinaurics following Miquella using the spell version and the Cleanrot Knights getting a weapon art/skill version of the spell on weapons.
The Albinauric guarding the Mohgwyn portal is loyal to Miquella.
The Snowfield Ghost's weird implications.
There's a Ghost in the Consecrated Snowfields who apparently tried to confront Mohg when Mohg took Miquella. But there's some odd implications in the ghost's dialogue.
He knew Mohg's name, meaning Mohg was already familiar to him. Yet also didn't feel afraid of confronting Mohg at all, like he didn't expect to be killed. There's also how his issue seems to be the idea that Mohg as an Omen has cursed blood, so him touching Miquella and possibly sullying Miquella with said curse.
Logistic implications of Mohg taking Miquella and Elphael's layout
While the Snowfield Ghost is a whole thing, the logistics of getting through Elphael, which is very heavily guarded, unnoticed, is quite ridiculous. Everything is guarded too heavily for a Tarnished to sneak through (so you're pretty much forced to fight unless you can figure out how to run past everything) and I'm expected to believe a 12 foot tall Omen man could?
And that Miquella's men wouldn't immediately try to hunt Mohg down, if all their buddies were just straight up dead or them seeing Miquella being carried off? They're fanatics willing to blow themselves up at the hope of bringing Miquella back.
Miquella's abilities as St. Trina, and their implications.
Miquella is St. Trina. St. Trina has certain abilities under their belt. The ability to give people visions in their sleep, the ability to make people sleep, and a seeming ability to enchant people. Malenia is currently asleep, awaiting Miquella's return.
If Miquella was not where he wanted to be, he could easily send Malenia a dream, to get him out of where he currently is. And yet, she remains asleep, waiting at the foot of the Haligtree.
Miquella rewove his cocoon.
A lot of time has passed since Miquella was removed from the Haligtree. And, in the opening where we see the various happenings leading up to the game- Miquella is taken out of the first cocoon. And, with the Snowfield Ghost, he was very visibly Miquella, not a giant cocoon, when Mohg carried him away.
So, despite everything, he rewove his cocoon in the middle of the Mohgwyn palace grounds and went back to sleep.
Sleep/guard parallelism
There are two things in the game world which parallel Mohg's guarding of Miquella's cocoon.
First is the Albinaurics on the palace grounds. It's an infamous farming spot, that there's a few wandering "blood" Albinaurics guarding the place, and a bunch of other Albinaurics which are sleeping.
Second is the owls and their eggs. There are owls in the Lands Between and they're the only wildlife which does not attempt to move to get away from the player- they can't move, they're incubating eggs. Killing them gives you the "slumbering egg" which will never hatch (with the implication that killing the owl and removing its source of heat kills the egg in the process). The eggs are a symbol of sublime slumber (and slumber is often used to allude to Miquella's current thing) and the eggs are useful for crafting anti-sleep items.
Miquella's ties to blood magic
Miquella himself was dealing with a lot of blood magic. He grew the Haligtree by feeding it his blood. He's the origin of the Sacramental Bud, which is a plant both grown of blood and which has buds that are engorged with them.
There's also the land octopus situation. The land octopuses seem somewhat attracted to Miquella's stuff, like in "St. Trina's hideaway" or the path to the Haligtree. The adults also drop their ovaries when killed, which are described as being white, but are colored instead by human blood, because that is how they reproduce- they feed on human blood.
Item placement more generally.
Item placement is often heavy with implications in FromSoftware Games, in part because their whole thing is environmental storytelling. It's something I adore, which is also why I love Morrowind's design, too.
But one thing that shows up, curiously, is how often the game wants you to associate Mohg and Miquella together, including Miquella as St. Trina. Bloodroses and other Dynasty things are often near nascent butterflies, Trina's lilies, and Miquella's lilies. Sacramental buds grow in the Writheblood Ruins.
The two merchants who sell Trina's Lilies and St. Trina's Arrows also sell Bloody Fingers, and the one who sells one of the Fevor cookbooks also sells the spirit ash which inflicts bleed buildup (Fanged Imps).
(Incidentally, the Fanged Imps are sometimes joked as being a couple by other players. They're also one of the answers to the Albinauric Rise puzzle. Either summon them to fight the spirits guarding the Rise, or bewitch one of the pair with a Bewitching Branch/use crystal darts to fight the other.)
Spirit Ash mechanics stuff
...The only way to get spirit ashes (which are heavily associated with Miquella, what with Torrent and the implications of the spirit calling bell being his) to actually target anything? Use the ritual blood pots associated with Mohg. Considering how the AI gets so borked with ashes, having them specifically target an enemy is quite important, yet it's only tied to one item.
Likewise, the only way outside of upgrading spirit ashes to actually get them to be better? Use Mohg's rune.
The constant overlapping design motifs between Mohg and his followers, and Miquella and his.
There's a LOT of design things which overlap between them.
Dolores's design is basically a combination between the two of them.
Lilies (associated with Miquella/St. Trina) are found on both his own items and among his followers and found in the designs of the Sanguine Nobles and Mohg's clothing.
Roses (associated with Mohg) also show up on Malenia's prosthetic (depicting a stylized rose) and a not yet fully bloomed rose is the pommel of the Sword of Saint Trina.
The leaves on Malenia's prosthetics are the same design as the crossguards of Eleonora's poleblade.
Miquella's "braid/coil/infinity/helix" motif that shows up everywhere on his stuff and with his followers is littered throughout Mohg's clothing and, as another pointed out to me, the Bloody Helice.
A sun-like flower shows up in several items made by Miquella/his followers. It's found on the Pulley Crossbow and both the Sword of St. Trina (on the blade just above the crossguard) and St. Trina's Torch (above the head on the depiction of St. Trina). This motif also shows up both on the Sanguine Nobles' outfis, and along the clasps of Mohg's robes.
Both actively oppose the Frenzied Flame. Mohg's shade guards where one can get to the Three Fingers. Sleep, magic Miquella developed, is decidedly placed in opposition to Madness in terms of how the magic works, as calming agitation.
To be honest, it all reminds me of the weird incongruities between the story Robert Baratheon presents (which is the "official" narrative that everyone believes happened) of Rhaegar kidnapping Lyanna. There are implications with all the incongruent details, like Ned's perspective being oddly opaque in places, the Kingsguard at the tower instead of guarding Rhaegar, and the unspecified promise. And then the GOT show confirming the general aspect of what's going on in the books (that Lyanna and Rhaegar had eloped).
NGL I do hope my theory is right on a meta level, because GRRM using the same twist twice in consecutive works in the same subgenre with an overlapping audience and both being very popular in their mediums? Actually catching people out with it? I honestly would find it both really funny, and also respect the absolute audacity.

The Psycho Duke and I - By Ianna Kim (8/10)
Tumblr media
I'm not saying this is bad. The writing is above average, but the art is inconsistent. There are stock SFX effects EVERYWHERE. There are flowers and shiny halos on characters and in scenes that make no sense at all. If you want to read about a kidnapping you could do worse, because our protagonist wants to be kidnapped.
Diana is a side character in a book about a beautiful, blond, spoiled young woman who is technically her sister. They aren't related. They were raised together, but Diana lives like a servant, and Celine is the most desirable upper crust bride.
Tumblr media
Diana awakens with a new soul. That soul was a tough-as-nails Korean heiress, who enjoyed being lazy in her old life. Diana refuses to work, and she starts fighting back against the maids who abuse her right away.
Her adoptive father doesn't give two shits about her, so asking him for a little respect...goes badly. She finds out that being a noble ward of a house doesn't mean you're a daughter of said house. Her real parents are dead too, so her noble status is dubious. Her role is to die for not protecting Celine when she gets kidnapped. She's only a "daughter" on paper. In reality she only exists to highlight how special Celine is.
Tumblr media
Diana doesn't stop trying. She tries Celine next, but sadly Celine is selfish and vain. Celine doesn't want to be sisters, but Celine lets Diana become part of her personal maid team. Diana has zero friends and zero hope. She should be crying, but she never does. In her old life her parents died when she was 12. She inherited a ton of cash, but everyone she knew tried to take advantage of her. By the time she hit adulthood she was tough as fucking nails. She's used to being mistreated by insecure people, so she hatches a plan.
She does not intend to play maidservant forever.
Tumblr media
The kidnapping scene comes. Celine is supposed to be stolen away by a man who steals her heart. Noah is a villain who seduces Celine with his epic charm, but he doesn’t return her feelings. He looks down on her when she confesses, and the male protagonist has to save her from her cruel captor. Noah is a villain that exists to make the love interest, Jeffrey, look better.
Celine lies and says Diana is the one he should kidnap.
Tumblr media
Noah kicks Celine out of the carriage, and he takes Diana. Diana doesn't cry. She doesn't fret about her sister alone beside the road. She's too calm and Noah immediately notices.
You see, everything went just as planned.
Diana wanted to be kidnapped by Noah. His country is wealthy, and Celine got to live lavishly in a mansion prison in the book.
She wants to live in a mansion prison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Diana gets what she wants in the beginning. Endless free time, and books too. The maids even bring romance novels upon her request. She eats good food and she relishes life as a political prisoner. Noah gets flirtatious, but she stays on guard. She doesn't immediately drool over him...which makes her...sigh....ugh...special.
....
Cliche.
Jeffrey wants to save her for some reason, even though Celine is supposed to be his bride. His mother is from the same country Diana's parents are from....and oh no Diana is a lost princess isn't she? That's kind of boring, but it does give Jeffery a reason to obsess over Diana.
Tumblr media
Noah wants to know why she isn't afraid of him. He falls for her pretty quickly, and then he sets her free...in the forest...at night...his mansion is on a mountain by the way. He torments her to show her there is no escape from him, so she should give up and stay with him forever.
Tumblr media
Diana is sorta tempted. She does want a rich husband. Noah is influential, but psychotic. He even thinks she should kill him if she wants to leave, because he can't live without her. They get along well when Noah isn't being weird. He just doesn't understand why she has ZERO desire to return home. He doesn't trust her.
Eventually she does go home, because Jeffery's crusade is putting Noah in danger.
He thinks she doesn't love him, but her departure was a selfless sacrifice.
Tumblr media
Art.
Noah likes art.
Diana draws a secret message for him, and he realizes she does love him when he sees it. He is willing to give up his position in the army to go to her. He's a mean man that rejects princesses and even the protagonist, but he sees her as a piece of rare art.
There's lots of action here. The main couple is believable, but nobody else has any personality. The inconsistent art gets annoying too.

I can't help but say it. I'm sorry for my English and my description, but I can't keep this to myself for long.
It always seemed to me and it seems that Bumblebee-teenager and his rebellious phase beam long before he was deprived of his voice.
And at the very beginning (about 12 years old), he was eager to get into the courses (?) to become a scout. He lacked the attention of Jazz and other scouts.
But no one wanted to let him go there and there were reasons for that.
First and most importantly, Bumblebee was too young to make such decisions. Secondly, the academy was far from the Icon base. Could be at risk of attack, although they tried to control it. And the third is the banal anxiety for the baby, who has lived at the base since birth.
Bumblebee protested a lot, for which he was often punished. But he didn't give up.
One trait of his character was stubbornness. Which was very disliked by others. Especially the bots that took care of him.
One night, trying not to disturb anyone, Bumblebee stole a travel bag from the warehouse. Before that, he found out which ship would go towards the academy. But there were no ships directly to the academy, so he chose the one that would be closer to him. And it's a one day to walk to the academy.
Therefore, he threw two cubes of energon, all the documents necessary for enrollment into his travel bag and the map. And for Optimus and the Elite, he left a note in his room on the bed.
The ship was a cargo ship and left only in the morning. Which was unlikely, given his loud behavior lately. But he did it.
The ship moved slowly and carefully and it took about 12 hours for it to arrive at the site. It was hard for Bumblebee to sit still and not fidget.
Therefore, when the ship began to be unloaded, he almost got caught. He accidentally knocked over some boxes, attracting a lot of attention. He ran away, but it seemed to him that he was noticed anyway.
He somehow got his bearings on the map, but he still wasn't sure if he was going right. The path was difficult for him. Bumblebee was still a stubborn child. He still made a little mistake in the coordinates and moved away from the academy a kilometer to the right. He panicked, but he didn't give up his stubbornness.
It was already evening. And the lights began to light up in the academy, greeting the warships and helping those who left the academy for some reason to navigate (The Academy was not afraid of enemy raids). And it helped him, but because of the panic, he did not immediately notice the lights.
At the academy itself, in front of the officers, he pretended to be an orphan in need of training and a roof over his head. He even started crying (one-actor theater). He was accepted.
Everything was revealed when Elite-1 arrived at the academy on business. She looked tired and exhausted. She saw Bumblebee in the crowd and asked the officer who this little bot was, and asked him to bring him to her office in the evening, claiming that she knew his parents. She was angry and relieved that he was okay.
She scolded him severely, but left him at the academy.
Upon returning to Iacon's base, she told the others where Bumblebee had gone. Optimus was a little disappointed, but at the same time glad and reassured. Ratchet was angry about Bumblebee's character, and Jazz laughed for a long time.

Part 1/Part 2

[Billy the Kid (Tom Blyth's version) x desi!oc]
Warning: description of blood, slight violence, flogging, racism, flogging, slaves, smut in maybe part 6?
Summary: Sheila was a slave taken by a British couple at the age of 12 for her singing. She was brought to America even though they had the 13th Amendment where slavery was abolished. She saw a friend of hers, who was brought with her, getting flogged and that was her last straw, proceeding to run away. Until she sees the most notorious outlaw in the South, then she settles to free her friends from the British couple that came to America for money.
Tumblr media
It was July.25, 1878, Lincoln County, New Mexico. Sheila woke up to nothing but harsh screams coming from one of her friends as she was beaten and whipped. She felt worried because the girl was new…Unlike Sheila who had been with the owner since she was twelve, merely because his wife liked her singing when they had come to visit British India.
Her friend, Catherine, was a sad sixteen-year-old, mourning the death of her parents. They had threatened the owners of telling law enforcement what was happening but they knew that they wouldn't do anything about it.
The other slaves ran to her screams but were faced with fear and did nothing besides revel in their powerlessness. Sheila sat there, her damp brown skin and greasy raven hair clinging to her shell of a body. She knew how this would end, knew that they would be feeble against the man–Edward J. Mason– but she was ready to clean Catherine’s wounds and reassure her that she would be alright.
“Oh, look at my slave, Sheila, so obedient! You never have to hurt her, Edward!”
The sadistic gray-haired man chuckled, kissing his wife.
“ And aren’t I glad, Penelope! We chose her when she was twelve, it has been seven years since, of course, she’d love us, this is why I love Indians! They always gift us with beauty and trust.”
They both glanced at the gaunt, starved girl before chuckling. The Mistress patted Sheila’s head and reached for a rake beside her, beckoning to the other slaves.
Penelope Mason was a woman no different from her husband. Many wives were afraid of their spouses but Penelope was a wife who had nothing but pride in her bones. The rake in Penelope’s hand was covered in blood, meant to whip the slaves that threatened their control and most times Sheila could willing block out the screeches and screams, but now she just felt angry, ready to beat the couple with no morals.
But she was stuck being useless to defend them.
Fear is a burden that was attached to her like a drug, and only withdrawal held her back from screaming her heart out.
Until she found a boy with the brightest blue eyes.
From what she’d heard, he was an outlaw.
Billy the Kid was infamous because he was the man who killed a sheriff months ago, and chased out of the state. It was a mystery how he gained the courage to return to New Mexico.
“ Who’re you?” The man questioned, his vibrant cobalt eyes gazing at her with hostility.
Sheila didn’t want to think more about the dominant color in his entire posture and frame. His clothes were darker than sin and brighter than the sun, but his eyes were the only thing she could pay attention to, causing her to ignore their proximity.
“ I am a slave, belonging to the Mason family.”
He tilted his head, shocked eyes analyzing their surroundings.
“ I didn’ ask what you were forced to be, I asked who you are.”
“ My name is Sheila, is that what you want?”
“ Huh, I’m Billy, but considerin’ the poster you were starin’ at a min’ ago, you already know that. But...how did you...No, how dare they have slaves!”

All it takes is one person to start rumors. Then, rumors will fly like a wildfire across the entire clan, destroying your integrity. Everything you’ve known will be uprooted by a single person. A person who wants to take away the precious little ooman they’ve cast to side. Discarded nothing more than rotten meat. An action that should’ve cost him his life but you, sweet ooman, begged for his life to be spared.
When she looked into those pleading eyes, she could not say no. Now, it was returning with a bite that hurt and caused more trouble. You were worth it. But his head should’ve been hung above her bedroom door, warding anyone off. Only if she didn’t fall for your soft cries.
Like any problem, they can be solved. The head of said problem was rooted in Dwainet. A problem We’ar-ow was going to get rid of.
She chuffed lowly to herself in the empty of her throne room. The door closed and locked tight while she had time to think in the lonely space.
Now, without the hunt of figuring out who had hurt you, We’ar-ow had changed her direction. At anytime she wasn’t in her quarters, she had the screen on her gauntlet pulled up with the cameras. Always watching and ensuring your safety. Though halfway across the ship from you, she had Xilomere stay nearby while she preformed her duties.
Today, she hadn’t even offered to take you with her. You had declined the last three times in the last week. We’ar-ow easily read the terror in your eyes. So, today, she left you behind to sleep in the comfort of her bed. The dark bags under your eyes growing only more every day. She knew what that was from and didn’t like it one bit.
Every time she returned to her dwelling, she would pull you to her room and sleep earlier than usual. You needed it. Every time, you would fight against her only to come to the conclusion it was pointless. Then, you were out. To sleep until the morning rose on the ship. We’ar-ow stayed up, more vigilant than ever. She got the necessary amount of hours to keep her functioning.
Curled up on the comforts of her large bed was your still sleeping form. Eyes still closed, chest slowly rising and falling in a deep sleep. One that you needed. She hated the fact that scum was disturbing your rest over his hatred of you. Dwainet lost his precious mate and realized his mistake too late.
You’re hers. Through and through.
A rap of knuckles on the two imposing doors brought We’ar-ow’s attention back to reality. All she gave was grunt. The screen on her gauntlet still pulled up so she would not lose a moment of you. Dwainet already has shown off his hand of tricks, which could include unlocking her doors. She doesn’t fully know who sides with Dwainet’s beliefs.
It needs to be squashed before the spark can grow. She’s worked far too hard to keep this clan peaceful.
The door revealed Dunkot, the head of security. His grey body moved into the room. A soft click sounded next as he strolled over to the base of the stairs. He knelt down on one knee and bowed his head fully. The hunter knew of his mistake and was attempting to redeem the entirety of his title. How could he allow this to happen, to let this slip past him? Her pet was injured because of it.
Her steely gaze was set upon his knelt form. “What news have you brought to me?” she snapped at him, voice firm.
Dunkot returned to a stand and yet doesn’t grow the courage to find her eyes. “The breach in the system has finally been patched. The corrupted data has also been recovered. Night vision was able to capture the attack,” he explained and kept his gaze down cast.
“And those who side with Dwainet during this revolution?” We’ar-ow eyed the grey Yautja closely.
He cleared his throat and swallowed thickly. “I have removed them from rotation and put them in the brig, including Dwainet.” A pregnant paused settled in the air. We’ar-ow notice immediately he had more to say. “If I may, Monarch…” She dipped her head. “Why go through all this trouble over a ooman? He wants it dead. Why not jettison it off the ship? That-“
Before the stupid male could utter another word, We’ar-ow flew down the steps and swallowed his throat in one hand. Due to her larger frame as a female, she pulled him off the ground and held him there, choking him out. He mandibles flared out with a roar that shook the very ground. “That is my pet! That ooman is mine.”
Worst than a dry jungle fire, her eyes were alit with unruly rage.
The Yautja was at her mercy. She could snap his neck if she so pleased. He didn’t want further put himself in harms way by spewing shit from his mouth. An apology would only make things worse.
“I let him win. What kind of message do you think that’ll send to the clan? That I’ll roll over at the misfortune of a male who believes he can best a Monarch. I earned this title,” she growled into his face, ready to tear his features off. “I will not let go until it kills me, and I join Cetanu.”
“Yes, of course, Monarch. You are right,” he agreed with her, anything to let the crushing grip on his windpipe to be let up. She scoffed and released him. The male crumpled to his knees and coughed, rubbing at the new bruise that’ll appear.
A heat glare was set on Dunkot. We’ar-ow shooed him off. “Go. Send me the video as well.” To save himself from further embarrassment and attack, he scrambled away from the Monarch. Out of the room and down the hall he disappeared.
With a huff, We’ar-ow marched back up the stairs and collapsed back into her throne. The room once more empty to any living being. Her gaze returned to the screen on her gauntlet. Her eyes snapped wide at the lack of your form on her bed. Immediately, she flipped between the different screens to find you.
In the kitchenette, bent over and searching through the ice box, there you were. The tightness in her chest loosen. She relaxed into her throne once more and gazed at your form. All safe and sound in her quarters.
The peacefulness was interrupted by a pop from her messages. Dunkot. A video file. We’ar-ow could feel her gut burn and twist at the same time before even opening the file. It would take every cell in her body not to march down to the brig and tear apart that scum for laying a hand on her pet. Once she has her evidence compiled, she’ll set up a court date. Then, he’ll be stripped of his title and deemed a bad blood. Where any Yautja is welcomed to hunt him. But it’ll be her to remove his head from his body. Then, she’ll offer the head to you.
The way her scales crawled with rage she’s never dwelled to before was new. One look at the Monarch had anyone, male or female bolting out of the way. No one dared to stay in the same hallway as her while she marched her way through.
Even as she smashed her code in and entered her quarters, she didn’t stop. We’ar-ow snatched your confused form off of the couch like before and stomped into her room. The bed was welcoming. Your body was thrown once more on the pelts. You weren’t given a second to comprehend the situation before her weight was suffocating you.
Your limbs flailed about, slapping and smacking her, attempting to push her off. It was feeble thought but with all the air pushed off of your lungs, you weren’t thinking straight. “We’ar-ow!” you gasped out with the last bit of air you had.
That was able to snap the giant female out of her shadowed thoughts. She lifted her weight off of you and onto her elbows on either side of your head. Her head was quick to bury its way into the crook of your neck.
Now able to breathe, you heaved for oxygen before putting your hands on her chest and pushing. She didn’t budge, not that you thought she would. It was a good try. “What’s gotten into you?” you questioned, voice disturbing the silence that filled the room. She’s never acted in such a way before that it concerned you more than you thought it should.
Sharp fangs pressed into your fragile skin. Any more pressure would cause them to sink into the fragile flesh. You tensed up, afraid her kindness to you was all a rouse.
They never went further. “We’ar-ow,” you shakily said, heart beginning to thunder in your ears. The pink Yautja moved the fangs and dragged them over the column of your throat. You swallowed at the feeling and laid still under her. At her will.
“He is in the brig,” she finally announced. In the low light, your brows furrowed. Not that she saw. Before it hits you who she’s talking about: Dwainet. You shuttered, nails digging into her back.
“Okay?” you responded, confused on why she’s acting this way if he’s locked away. It doesn’t mean you’re safer by any means though. There were thirteen others that stood on his side during the confrontation. Who knows how many more are out there, lurking in the shadows, such as he did.
The fangs pulled away. Her piercing gaze looked deep into your eyes. “Will you come to the throne room tomorrow?" You huffed. You don’t know why she’s so adamant for you to join her. It puts you at risk. Here, it’s at least safer. Three doors to keep you from the outside world and the dangers that fill it.
“No.” You weren’t going to beat around the bush. “Why do you want me to join you so badly? Want to watch one your clan members rip off my head?” Despite your concern, though waning, you felt anger about the whole situation.
A threatening snarled vibrated your whole body. “You are safe.” Now, that irked you. If only you could push her off and be in a more equal playing ground. But no. She still hovered above you and not giving you room for escape.
“He can not hurt you while in the brig.” This again.
A soured expression passed over your features. You tried to shove the giant off of you again but she didn’t even flinch. It felt like attempting to move a brick wall. “And the others? They’re still out there, hunting me for him. My ex-mate wants me dead for some fucking reason.”
Stinging tears prickled the corner of your eyes. You looked away from her, head turned to the side. We’ar-ow pinched your chin and forcefully turned your head. “You’re mine.” Your face fell into a deadpanned expression.
“Oh, wow. Yeah, that saves me from the fact that a group wants my head.” Your seething anger only growing further as she tried to dismiss the danger of you leaving this room. “I’ve already known your species is only cruel and harsh. No need to rub salt in a festering wound.”
Your heart ached at your own words, disliking the fact that came from you. She’s not cruel. She’s not harsh. Not to you.
The Yautja started to purr softly. “No, don’t do that!” You gave another shove at her, even using your knees into her stomach. That got her to budge but not enough to remove her off of you. “Get off!” She raised a brow at you. It was stupid to demand things of her when she’s the one in charge of every aspect of your life.
Okay, well. That’s not true. But she is the Monarch and you’re just her lowly pet. That she’s fighting for somehow.
We’ar-ow leaned up on her knees, towering over you lying form. You scrambled the moment you had to get to your feet, standing on the bed. Even on her knees, you didn’t reach over her head. Her purr gone.
“I’ve regretted every moment I’ve been on this damn ship. From the moment I even met Dwainet back on earth. I want to go home, back to safety where I’m not being hunted down by someone who I loved. Dwainet was my mate, we shared a lot with each other!” you shouted at her and pointed a finger into her chest.
If you were clear in the head, you might’ve reformed yourself into the timid, shy creature she knew you as. Too terrified to deal with even looking her in the eye. But this, this was completely different.
A huffed sounded from the Yautja in front of you. That only made your anger hit an all time high. Flushed in the face, heated like a flame, you spilled secrets not meant for her ears. “And that’s why I’m planning my fucking escape!” Your voice echoed back at you in the limited space.
All you could hear was the pounding in your ears of your own heart trying to escape. You slapped a hand over your mouth and stumbled backwards, nearly falling off the bed.
The moment you saw her move, your instinct drove you to flight. You sped off of the bed in a flurry of flailing limbs for the only exit. It didn’t take more than two steps for your back to be pressed against a warm surface, trapped all over again.
Hot tears skirted down your face as you struggled against her. A futile attempt to release the hold she has on you. She was going to kill you. End it all. All this trouble you’ve caused. You just spat and disrespected her entirely. This was it. She was going to end you.
Yet, the killing blow never came. You slowly turned your head to look at her. Her facial expression was no different. “I know.”
She knows.
We’ar-ow knows.
Your jaw dropped. “You know?” you whispered the confirmation of an earthshattering discovery. How does she know? How long? Why hasn’t she tried to stop you? Punish you? She let you continue to plan this escape this entire time while knowing your idea.
“Yes. I have known.” She nodded her massive head, long tresses swaying with the movement.
“Why didn’t you stop me?!” You raised your voice again.
“I know a lot of things about you my dear ooman. You will not leave. You are mine.” A hand cradles your chin and forces your head up, exposing the soft tissue of your throat. One claw could spill your life essence and leave you drowning in it. But she does not go for the kill.
You rapidly shake your head. No! You swore this off. Swore off the hurt that would come if this were to happen again. You would not love again. Not her. You’re just her pet. That’s why she cares. The only reason she cares.
There were no more words to be said. You cast your gaze to the ceiling, unable to will yourself to look her in the eye. Anything to stop yourself from bawling out and curling into a ball on the floor at her feet.
Now, there was no escape from this hell, from this torture Dwainet brought you to.
“I will keep my ooman safe. I promised you that. There are cameras in every room, so when I am not in my quarters, you are watched over. I will keep you safe,” she reiterated for the last time. She wanted to get it into your thick skull you are to stay. Stay with her. “And your tablet. It is connected to my gauntlet. I see everything you have looked up.”
We’ar-ow leaned down to press her closed mandibles to your throat. “Maybe one day, I will teach you to fly a ship. Until then, you are to stay. Stay where I can protect you. Dwainet will face his crimes. I will quell this unrest like when I first was crowned Monarch. Everything will return to normal with you at my side, my ooman.”
Sharp tusks raked across feeble flesh, leaving behind goosebumps in their wake. You shuttered at the feeling, unsure if you liked or to fight the feeling growing more in the pit of your stomach.
After a pregnant pause had filled the air for longer than comfortably, you placed a hand on her shoulder. We’ar-ow stopped every movement in her body, waiting. “Will you tell me about how you became Monarch?” you asked, trying to change the subject. You were afraid on where this might take you if you didn’t stop it. It wasn’t a path you were willing to take a risk on. Not when fresh cuts still bled your weak heart.
Her blazing orange eyes searched through yours before casting to the side. A grunt surged through her vocal cords. We’ar-ow pulled away from you, stealing her heat back. With a motion with her head towards her bed, she stalked over to it but stopped. The alien waited patiently to follow her commands.
With nothing better to do, you shadowed behind her and crawled onto the sheets. You don’t know what the creature wanted from you and sat there, looking up at her.
She looked down at your smaller frame before kneeling onto the mattress again. All it took was a singular hand to push you onto your back. Then, she was on top of you, smothering you with her weight. This time, she was mindful of how much pressure was too much. Just enough to feel the slightest struggle to gather air back into your lungs.
The alien felt like a weighted, warm blanket. Forcing herself between your legs so they would either lay limp or wrap around her hips. Her alien face was buried back into the crook of your neck, inhaling your scent. A need after the day she endured so far away from you.
“You want to know about me?” If you didn’t know any better, it sounded like she was… teasing you. You tensed up underneath her, nails digging into her shoulders. She purred a laugh into your skin. “Do you know what it takes or the process of becoming a Monarch?”
All it took to answer her question was a simple head shake. You could feel her roll her eyes. “Of course, that scum never taught a thing about his culture. Typical.” You nearly snorted if it wasn’t for the reminder of the whole situation. One she either purposefully or not dragged you from.
“As you know, Monarchs are the leader of their clan with a council team. Like… a check in the system. The last Monarch nearly took down this clan if it wasn’t for the council standing up and bringing her down.” We’ar-ow shifted, still between your legs but now on her knees; nearly folding you into yourself. “When a Monarch either steps down or dies, a mourning process begins with the need to search out a new one.”
Fangs raked across your neck, leaving behind heat in their wake. You shuttered at the feeling, eyes drifting close. “It’s a month-long process. Any female is welcomed to step up and take the challenge. The old council leads the tournament, conducting the challenges for them to overcome.”
“Those who step into the ring have but one come to their death. Last Yautja standing wins the title, proving they deserve the title. It’s not one given but won.”
“As for the court, the newly crowned Monarch is allowed to either choose to keep the old council or pick new members. Many choose to pick their own, filled with people they know personally and trust. I, myself, stemmed off and kept the last court. One of my sisters is part of it. I knew many of them before I earned my new title. I preferred to learn about them and grow new bonds then having to decide who would be good for the needed positions.”
Somehow, the alien was able to shift her knees further under your lower back. You were pushed more against her fetal positioned body. Even if you minded, not that you did, there was not a chance to push the hunk of alien off of you. You huffed, amused at her antics.
While your hands rested on her shoulders, you noticed the tension under them, despite being a thickly corded beast. You tilted your hands and dug your thumbs along the countless knots filling her muscles on her shoulders.
It would kill you to say this but the way she turned into putty in your hands was… adorable. You melted at her reaction, not seeing the dangerous creature she had to be.
“By god’s grace. You’re incredibly tense,” you muttered and continued the same motion, forcing the knots to dissipate under your nimble digits. We’ar-ow purred louder than you’ve ever heard. A sound that could defeat you in seconds.
Before you could realize what you were saying, you dragged your hands down her biceps. “Do you want a back massage?” The rational side of you brain suppled it was like a payment for keeping you safe.
That was all.
Her sputtered before amping back up, face burying further into your neck. “What makes you think I need one?” The tone was teasing, allowing for bicker to rise. The same two fangs pressed into feeble skin, testing the limit of pressure. What would be too much to draw blood? Further marking you as hers besides her own Monarch symbol on the back of your neck.
Your hands return to her shoulders. “You feel tenser than a sphertine belt for a car.” She rested more weight on you and made it harder once more to breath properly. Not that you could do much to battle her.
When a confused trill sounded from her throat, you would’ve face palmed. You still haven’t learned they don’t under metaphors, at least not ones like that. “You’re just really tense. Do you want one or not?” You were growing embarrassed at the fact you were offering such a thing to her. A creature who could tear your skull from your body if she so pleases.
The pressure draped across the top of your body was removed, allowing you to fully breath. Her giant body moved to lay on her stomach next to you. Her arms crossed while resting her jaw on them. She looked comfortable as she gazed at you from her spot.
“Well?” she rumbled and motioned her head towards her back.
Despite offering, you were stunned she was letting you. Even you knew showing your back and laying down like she has was an extremely trustful action. You swallowed thickly before getting up onto your knees, knelt at her side. We’ar-ow jerked her head up again in the same motion as before. Your eyes snapped wide. She wanted you to get on her back.
Yeah… it would make the job easier but that? You gnawed on your bottom lip before timidly crawling on top of her, straddling her wide hips. It was a stretch to settle comfortably. We’ar-ow just waited.
Every next movement was slow as you started at the top of her torso, fingers massaging her shoulders. “T-tell me if I do something wrong?” you sputtered, terrified I might push my luck even with her permission.
In return you got a deep groan as the Yautja snuggled deeper into the mattress, content. It encouraged you to keep going, fulfilling your offer till the end.
