I love my L.A. friends. Especially the ones who were either either born and raised there, partially raised there or have lived there long enough to be considered an Angeleno. Their hatred of automobile traffic, while seemingly clichéd to some, is a legit thing that happens when you've spent enough time around the "best coast". ---- A friend video-called me today to complain about how much he wishes he could punch El*n M*sk in the balls for fucking over the plans several of our friends/acquaintances had for improving the seemingly eternal L.A. traffic problem, and I couldn't help but to let out a sobering chuckle. For people in the West Coast, M*sk's bullshit has always been sort of a known quantity for as long as he's been in the spotlight in some way, shape or form since the late 90's. ---- It's sorta surprising that it took this long for news to travel around; it was almost as though we were back on pre-Web 2.0 days, but... well, I guess it just goes with the bias of the times or something. I don't know. Shit, it's weird to think about how quickly it took for M*sk's (in hindsight, not-so much) "carefully" curated image to unravel once the Disney and Fox-sponsored media handjobs (obviously they were not the only ones, but I'm laying the blame at their feet first and foremost) were no longer in the public consciousness to obscure the fact he's a fucking idiot. ---- Now, there's nothing wrong with being stupid, idiotic, etc or engaging in stupid-like behavior, even from people you'd expect better from, as long as you don't get yourself or someone else irrevocably hurt or worse. Despite my best attempts, I often fall on my face with great gusto trying to keep myself from fucking up. we're a perpetual work in progress, y'know? ---- But one of the advantages of being a dumbass who promises to do better is that you get to work on yourself when nobody is looking, in that way, you can sorta at least fade out from people's consciousness and, like, at least improve whatever perception/standing there was of yourself considered to who you were, even if the change is minimal. M*sk, unfortunately, kind of symbolizes that one tweet we love to quote when it concerns terminally-online people. ---- And it kinda sucks because, when you get down to it, he's just kind of a garden variety boring-ass, grifting failson, isn't he? It almost feels like the hatred my LA friends hold for him is kinda wasted, because the things he did are just the boring contractor equivalent of ratfucking, which yeah, it's asshole behavior, but hardly noteworthy. ---- There are plenty of rich people just out of sight who just mind their own businesses and rot their empathy in private, and you'd think M*sk would've figured out that he could benefit from taking a tour of duty away from the public eye, but maybe as that one quote from World War Z's own T. Sean Collins (named after T. Sean Shannon, Max Brooks' former co-worker in SNL's writing staff) goes:

Look y’all, this came to me while I was in the shower and is cracky and absurd and one of the best things I’ve ever written. Two and a half years later and I’m still obsessed with this ridiculous little fic. It’s insane. It’s hilarious. It’s ALSO TECHNICALLY CANON. And I love it so much. It never fails to bring a smile to my face.

2 Good People, Bad Beer (post S3 SethKate)

Seth and Kate bonding over shitty beer and making out against the back of a car after surviving Matanzas, what more can you ask for? I re-read this one A Lot. It’s so good. I love it so much. Seth being dumb about them while Kate is sitting there super certain about them both is one of my favorite dynamics to write for them.

Maria gets a pass out of the afterlife and uses it to browbeat her erstwhile husband into committing to get a better apartment and matchmaking him and Karen. Because of course she would. Maria Castle totally ships it, and it works because I said so and it’s not like anyone in the comics actually stays dead anyway.

4 watching over someone from afar (post TPS2 Kastle)

This was a BEHEMOTH inspired by a Sailor Moon quote and it’s such a delight. There’s nothing I love more than putting Karen together with the Lieberman family, and especially with Sarah. The dramatic scenes between Karen and Frank, especially the one right after Frank called David freaking out because he thought she was missing when she was really just snowed in at their house was just so much fun to write and it’s a beast of a fic but so much fun to go back to. Also fun to throw in those bits of Karen traumatizing Foggy on purpose.

5 There Is No Easy Way To Explain (post TPS1 Kastle)

“Karen, I know you kind of got thrown in to the whole paralegal thing, but did Matt and Foggy not teach you a thing about ethics? Specifically, the ethics of not sleeping with your client? Especially the clients on trial for almost forty fucking homicides.” - okay but like, this fic has some of the best one-liners I’ve ever written, and Marci’s POV is SUCH a fun sandbox to play around in. She’s just like..how do you LIVE and Karen’s like…hot marine with an eight-pack ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Honorable mentions, because I could not resist: what died didn’t stay dead (you’re alive, you’re alive in my head) SethKate, post S3 and Seth just does not understand how Kate is alive because he’s in awe of her, which, duh. Chapter 4 of The Strongest Stars one-shot RebelCaptain, Jyn and Cassian aren’t easy to write and this was just a fun bit of banter, It Often Rhymes Damerey takes a jaunt to Naboo and I choose not to care that Force Ghosts don’t work like that, Going Through The Unimaginable Damerey, post TLJ and they're all stuck on the Falcon and was just really fun to write, Three People, Two Reunions, One Room In Medical (RebelCaptain, post ANH - it’s a crime that Jyn and Leia never got to interact outside of some of the comic canon)

So supposed to be cleaning up a funny law comic for mandie I made but I am unhinged and my adhd don’t wanna comply w anything in my life (possibly getting back on meds next month yayyy)

BUT POINT IS

I have a bunch of canvases and stuff and was like hey maybe a I should make something w Brook for my nephew. He needs some cool wall art and shit/ but then I found the big frame I’ve been hoarding - and came up w this (mostly inspo images and canvas shape outlines so I could come up w something lol)

But I decided I’m just gonna go for it. Big huge canvas I have to wrap, paint in a stylized version of brooks wanted poster, then I’m going to use the rolls of tooling aluminum I have (like thick foil ? Kinda) and I’m gonna tool/shape and cute the metal to wrap around the bottom of the canvas to make the musical bars and sk logo at the bottom- and make his soul attack out of also metal to attach to the top around it- can’t decide if the dangling sign at bottom will stay- want it to say dead or alive // Rain or shine can’t decide which or both? Maybe neither?

And I could paint on the metal and add led lights behind it to make it light up and possibly use the small circle canvases I have to add some soul attacks around it who knows

After Tony Khan launched AEW in 2019, ROH went through a bit of a dark age until Khan acquired the promotion in 2022. Few names from that era remain on the roster--Castle, Yuta, and Woods are the most prominent on the weekly TV series right now.

We're two weeks away from ROH's next pay-per-view, Final Battle, and the men's side only has one match announced--a six-way for the television title, which Samoa Joe abandoned. Joe is putting his focus on chasing the AEW men's world champion MJF, who has been one of the ROH tag team champions for three months and has yet to appear on an ROH show. As for the six-way, only Castle and Komander have been confirmed as participants thus far.

I assume there won't be a men's world title match on the PPV, since Kingston is busy with AEW's Continental Classic tournament. Similarly the pure title has seen more action in AEW than ROH. Brian Cage and the trios title are effectively on ice until his tag partners return from New Japan's World Tag League.

I have no doubt Final Battle will end up being a good show. But with ROH in the state it's in, the quality of the show will largely depend on how many big names from AEW (or perhaps New Japan) will come in for exactly one night, tear the house down, and then not stick around. That approach isn't going to convince people to pay $10/month for the weekly TV.

On paper this looks like a stacked tag team division. However, most of the teams listed are booked like jobbers when they appear on AEW teleivison, and get booked 50/50 in ROH matches. I think the Iron Savages, the Infantry (Dean/Bravo and Trish Adora), and the Outrunners have a ton of potential, but I can't fool myself into thinking they're being pushed right now. Andretti/Martin and the Righteous are presented like big deals, but their win-loss records don't reflect that--hell, the Righteous couldn't even beat MJF two-on-one.

The main exception is Kaun and Liona, who are booked like monsters. But there's no sense of that leading to them challenging for the ROH tag title. The main idea is that they're part of a monster trio with Brian Cage. But after a year at the top of the trios division, they've destroyed every possible trio combination on this roster, and it feels like only an AEW superteam could topple them.

The biggest storyline in ROH lately has been Athena training Starkz to be her "minion," and feuding with Shafir, until Starkz flipped out on both Shafir and Athena, and challenged Athena for the title at Final Battle. At this point I'm not sure which of the three are supposed to end up being babyfaces or heels, but the story's still in progress.

They're also doing a thing with Hirsch trying to decide whether Ellering or Maria Kanellis truly has her back. So good for ROH for actually having multiple women's storylines, although I wish the second one wasn't the same passive-agressive "are you really my friend?" stuff we see all the time in women's wrestling.

The Renegades have gotten involved with both of these storylines, in tag matches against Athena/Starkz and Ellering/Hirsch. That's a good idea to keep things interesting. Unfortunately the Renegades have the same problem the Bella Twins had in WWE--their whole deal is being a cohesive duo, but the promotion doesn't have a women's tag team title for them to dominate.

OK, this next part is where I list wrestlers who are on the roster but haven't had a match in over a month. Thing is, ROH doesn't really have an official roster. So this is just a selection of wrestlers who are either on AEW's official roster or free agents that seem to be ROH regulars.

No televised ROH matches in 30 days: Allysin Kay, Blake Christian (GCW world champion), Kip Sabian, Lady Frost, Marti Belle, QT Marshall, Rocky Romero (CMLL historic welterweight champion), Scorpio Sky, Skye Blue

No televised ROH matches in 60 days: Angelina Love, AR Fox, Claudio Castagnoli, Chuck Taylor, Jimmy Jacobs, Leila Grey, Nick Wayne, Silas Young

Last televised ROH match between June 1 and August 31: Alex Reynolds, Big Bill (AEW tag team champion), Cheeseburger, Daniel Garcia, Eli Isom, Jacked Jameson, John Silver, Leon Ruffin, Madison Rayne, Mark Briscoe, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Miranda Alize, Penta El Zero Miedo, Rey Fenix, Rhett Titus, Samoa Joe, Stokely Hathaway, Stu Grayson, Tracy Williams

Looking at all these names, you can see talent that will probably be back before long, and others who have clearly moved on. I really doubt Castagnoli and Samoa Joe will be back. The Kingdom (Taven and Bennett) feel integral to 2020s ROH, but their AEW act with Roderick Strong is so hot right now that it'd be silly to move them back here. In other cases (for example, Isom, Cheeseburger, Williams, Titus) I never know if they're just on a hiatus or if Tony Khan has just decided to stop booking them altogether.

I would guess about half of these names will return to ROH now and then over the next six months. But "will return" could mean "will appear weekly leading to a PPV match" or just "will do one match and then nothing for another six months."

There's no way to know if either of these guys will be ROH regulars when they return, but they were when we last saw them. By the same token, Dante Martin (who was injured on an ROH show months ago and has just made his return) could be headed back here or maybe he won't.

Conspicuous by their absence on this list are the ROH tag team champions, since Adam Cole hasn't wrestled under the ROH brand since 2017, and MJF never has. I thought it was possible they'd at least show up for Final Battle, but there's no timetable for Cole's return from an ankle injury. MJF could show up to defend the tag belts solo, or with a substitute partner. But considering he's working through a torn labrum, and trying to make it to the December 30 show, Final Battle is probably a low priority for his schedule.

Well, I don’t have much else to say otherwise other than that and a small reminder that this blog is just a fun nonsense blabfest that’s basically a public diary. I don’t think your reading to deep into newjeans because even in their attention music video the shots were very weirdly done. Shots of the members dancing were placed really low and as you said they did alot of close up shots of their faces. And now that your bring it up I was questioning why all of them had long dark hair because at least one or two of members of idol groups dye their hair but not this new group. It’s actually unsettling. Also about that women more came out that she hanged out with the youngest who is 13 and called her a friend, that she was innocent, and that she was “bathing in her energy.” 😬😬😬.

Yikes. It gives off vibe of creeps who likes the "innocence" of kids while turning it in more than it is... Like the commentary about not telling Taemin that he will be shirtless for a shoot to have him look boyish. Also she seems to have this weird obsession with having a muse. Taking them younger is either to mold them into whatever she wants to see...It's weird to think that "innocence" has been codified for so long with shit like lolita, Leon or even animes/hentai/mangas and how they draw girls/women in childlike bodies... And people have been showing pics of her house, office + pictures of Brooke Shields being used for inspiration for a shoot (just google her and see how fucked up it is to have her as inspo) I have to say that some comments were saying it was from a dazed photographer so it's still unclear. Finally we can assume that if she was a man openly showcasing this behaviour they would have him locked up (not for long since it's sk but ykwim)

But since you asked for a gif, I made this one from another vlog. There wasn’t any audio of Croy speaking but it truly is the SK search scene (Btw my favorite part is that the kid he’s always borrowing the droid toy from ALWAYS has their hand out waiting to get their droid back 😌).
