Moon 169-Newleaf
Amethystdapple (96) and Fry’s (76) kits have been made warriors!  It’s crazy to think that the birth of these kits, particularly Primpaw (11), sparked a revolution, and now they’re warriors.  The Clan has grown and changed so much since then.    Mossypaw (11) has been given the name of Mossyfleck, honoring his warmth (hah).  Amethystdapple is proud of her only son.  Brightpaw (11) has been given the name of Brightfern, honoring her assurance.  And, the star (hah) of the ceremony, Primpaw, is given the warrior name of Primcrest, honoring her adaptability.  She may not have proven herself yet, but Creekstar has no doubt that she will.  Chervilcry (148) has been trying to spend more time with her grandkits, but said grandkit Cypressbadger (35) finds all the attention annoying.  She and the mediator end up getting in a fight.  At least Sleepyfoot (35) seems to like her grandma.  It’s still a little weird for Wildcave (52) to think he has younger siblings the same age as his kits.  Oh well.  At least he enjoys sharing the latest inter-Clan gossip with his daughter.  Conegoat (52) is less thrilled with having a niece.  She ignores Daisypaw (10) and gets her in trouble for not changing out the bedding in the nursery. And she’s not the only one upset with Daisypaw. Rabbitfur (25) is still annoyed with having Daisypaw as an apprentice.  She rolls her eyes when Daisypaw argues with her over a technique, but doesn’t provide any reason why her way of doing it is better.  Daisypaw can’t wait to be done with training and be a warrior like her aunts are. Meanwhile, Shard (66) has grown quite fond of Fennelkit (5).  She knows she won’t be able to mentor the young cat, as their powers don’t match, but she wishes she could.

My younger sister: How do you wake up a sleepy foot?
Me: You bang it with a hammer until it wakes up
My younger sister: What? No! Why?
Me: I was just kidding, don't actually do that!!

Moon 185-Greenleaf
Tornpaw’s (12) efforts are be paying off, but at a price.  All his training has torn up his pelt around his paralyzed hind legs.  That doesn’t stop him from working hard though!  And telling the kits fanciful stories about how he was paralyzed (he fails to mention that he was actually born with the condition).  Mousekit (2) is proving to be the little darling of the camp.  Fry (92) appreciates how she always checks in on him and Mossyfleck (27) tries to get her to sneak out of camp with him.  Fry also wants to spend more time with his grandson and tries to sneak out of camp with Halfnoise (26).  Cypressbadger (51) has never been a big fan of young kits, but having a bunch of kits in camp is actually making her revise that opinion.  Specifically Lightkit (2).  He’s making her remember just how cute kittens are.  Creekstar (39) doesn’t agree.  She thinks it’s stressful having so many kits in camp.  If one of them dies or is injured, she feels like it would be her responsibility.  Sleepyfoot (51) is finding out that working with young cats isn’t always sunshine and roses.  Frecklepaw (12) has entered her teenage stage where she doesn’t want to listen to the older Healer.  It’s annoying.  Rabbitfur (41) continues to be the heartthrob of the Clan.  Brightfern (27) takes time out of her day to roll around in some herbs after hearing that Rabbitfur likes them.  While on a patrol, Tornpaw gets in a skirmish with a rogue and one of his good legs is mangled.  Mouse dung!  He feels a bit better about it when he learns that Wildcave (68) later encounters the same rogue and ends up with a mangled tail.

Moon 183-Greenleaf
With both their mates dead, father and son Wildcave (66) and Fry (90) have decided to move on.  Creekstar (37) decides to seize on the fact that Wildcave is ‘newly’ single and confesses her feelings to him.  And gets rejected.  Probably too soon for that, sweetie.  Creekstar copes with the rejection by spending some time chatting with Mossyfleck (25).  Now that they’ve gotten over their minor spat, they’re getting along quite well.  Pigeonspot (52) is trying to be more involved in Sleepyfoot’s kit’s lives, even of those she’s not the bio mother of.  She’s been really enjoying spending time with Glowquake (19) lately.  Another one of Sleepyfoot’s kits, Poolbounce (19), scolds Wildcave for shooting blasts of flame near the healer's den.  Wildcave is not thrilled at being scolded by a younger cat.  He can indeed control his fire, thank you very much.  Tornpaw (10) is glad that his warrior training is going so well.  He’s amazed by the skill of those surrounding him, especially Brighfern (25), and is excited to become a warrior and develop skills like that of his own.  While on a patrol, Poolbounce and Astertwist (19) find a litter of kits next to the dead body of their parent.  Poolbounce instantly wraps himself around the kits and orders Astertwist back to camp to prepare.  Astertwist isn’t thrilled to be ordered around by his brother, but he obeys and then comes back to bring the kits back.  Two of the kits, the very polite Lightkit (0) and Logkit (0), have very weak wind-blessings.  One of them, Robinkit (0), has a fire-blessing so weak he may as well be powerless.  The fourth one, Mousekit (0), is powerless.  Poolbounce decides to adopt them as his own.

Moon 177-Leaf-bare
This leaf-bare is proving to be a tough one.  Instead of passing on the greencough to Tornkit (4) as the Healers feared, Lightkit (4) died from it.  Additionally, Chervilcry (156) went missing and was found dead out in the territory.  The Clan is in shock that she’s gone.  There are no cats alive who remember a time without the beloved mediator in the Clan.  Peakspots (146) is hit especially hard by her death, as it leaves him as the oldest cat in the Clan.  One day, the Clan will have kittens who never knew Chervilcry in life, but Peakspots vows that Chervilcry’s memory will live on through him.  In a ‘bright’ spot, it seems that Brightfern (19) is widely beloved by the Clan.  She always has a kind word for everyone and has been especially comforting to Peakspots in his grief.   Wildcave (60) is also bonding with his little sister and congratulates her for a job well done.  Despite not being directly related to her, Gladepatch (53) feels fondness for Primcrest (19).  She’s part of the reason that his daughter is leader of the Clan and dark-cursed kittens are no longer killed.  He enjoys discussing Clan news with her.  Volcanoblossom (104) is not a fan of Sleepyfoot (43) and Pigeonspot’s (46) kits.  Elmpaw (7) is always bumping into her and Goldenpaw (7) drives her crazy!  Rabbitfur’s (33) mean streak continues to attract other cats to her.  This time, it’s Shard (74) promising to always look out for her.  Hey, if something works, why change it?  In other news, Glowpaw (13) has been given the warrior name of Glowquake, honoring his support.

Moon 174-Leaf-fall
With leaf-fall starting, the leaf-bare may prove to be a rough one if the senior Healers can’t recover.  Fennelpaw (10) is a little embarrassed that her stomach ache has progressed into diarrhea.  It feels wrong to talk to her brothers about her dirt.  But Asterpaw (10), as non-squeamish as ever, tells her to make sure she keeps drinking water.  The stress has gotten to Asterpaw though, and he’s developed a minor running nose.   Hopefully it won’t turn into whitecough or greencough.  With so many cats sick, Creekstar (28) has decided to make Daisypaw (15) a warrior.  She worries that the young cat’s nerves may cost her life in battle, but she gives her the name of Daisyfreeze, honoring her logic.  Fry (81) is also a little worried about his granddaughter, as he heard a rumor that she doesn’t want to fight anything.  That won’t go over well in a warrior.  Brightfern (16) has been trying to get to know her father’s other relatives and decides to share prey with Rustsong (43), her sister-in-law.  Meanwhile, her nephew (Finchbelly-15) is telling embarrassing stories about when Fennelpaw was a kit.  She’s already embarrassed enough about her diarrhea as it is!  Daisyfreeze hopes she gets to patrol with Primcrest (16) soon-she feels safe with the dark-cursed cat around.  It’s nice knowing she can kill any enemies they encounter.  Marshdapple (65), being new to the Clan and being cared for by two apprentices, doubts their skill.  Asterpaw bristles after being scolded by her.  Goldenkit (4) is jealous of the attention Fennelpaw has been getting lately.  Why can’t her mom pay more attention to her!  Marshdapple is glad that she and Sleepyfoot (40) are in the nursery together.  She thinks the other mother is very admirable.  And she can help with the health issues Tornkit (1) is developing. It turns out that he is paralyzed.  That hasn’t stopped him from sparring with Chervilcry (153) though!  One of Marshdapple’s other kits, Lightkit (1), doesn’t understand why Poolpaw (10) won’t play with him.  He’s always around camp.  And busy caring for sick cats.

Moon 172-Greenleaf
Unfortunately, Halfnoise (13) was right to be concerned about Gladepatch (47).  He was working himself too hard trying to teach two apprentices and care for the Clan.  While reaching for some herbs (seeming to forget that he could either make them grow towards him or pull the land they were on towards him), he fell in the river and inhaled a lot of water.  He’s on bedrest while he heals, leaving the two apprentices by themselves.  It’s going to be challenging, but at least it’s greenleaf and there shouldn’t be too much illness. Chervilcry (151) is feeling old and cranky.  She thinks that the young cats are quite annoying.  Halfnoise isn’t very considerate of others and Fennelpaw (8) never does anything useful.  She quite prefers the company of fellow old cat Peakspots (141).  She even hopes that she dreams of him at night.  Peakspots has been encouraging her, a bit, and brings her some pretty flowers back from a patrol.  Fry (79) has been having constant nightmares lately, following the death of Conegoat, and is struggling to sleep.  He feels like Sleepyfoot (38) is downplaying his own concerns over his health.  Meanwhile, Sleepyfoot is preoccupied caring for her kits-both those in the nursery and the apprentices.  Having six young cats to care for at once is challenging!  What was she thinking? Caring for kits is also wearing on Pigeonspot (41) and the two got into an argument.  Pigeonspot also does not notice Elmkit (2) sneaking out of camp.  She returns a little while later, unscathed.   Wildcave (55), meanwhile, is ready to have more kits.  Rustsong (41) is not.  She thinks they should wait at least until Daisypaw (13) is made a warrior.  Gladepatch is developing a bit of a crush on Rabbitfur (28).  Sure she’s mean to him, but that makes her all the more appealing, right?  Apparently he’s not the only one who likes mean cats, because Brightfern (14) has been noticing just how beautiful Rabbitfur’s eyes are.  In the medicine den, Asterpaw (8) has taken to sharing what he’s been learning about herbs with his brothers, to help him remember.  Glowpaw (8) is listening carefully as he explains the purpose behind yarrow.

Finchpaw (12) and Halfpaw (12) have been made warriors!  Finchpaw has been given the name of Finchbelly, honoring his courage, and Halfpaw is now Halfnoise, honoring his valiance.  That leaves Daisypaw (12) alone as the last remaining one of Wildcave (54) and Rustsong’s (40) kits who is an apprentice.  She’s annoyed that her mentor hasn’t been paying much attention to her and wishes that she could be a warrior with her brothers.  Speaking of her family, her grandpaw, Fry (78), and Creekstar (25) have proven that they make a good team.  Fry’s experience and easy-going demeanor balance out Creekstar’s youth and excitability.  Fry is proud of how he and his kits have found a place in the Clan. Primcrest (13) always thought that, once she was made a warrior and proven, Fry would retire from the deputyship and she would take over.  Fry explains that she most likely will, but only after she’s had an apprentice.  Primcrest understands, and looks at Elmkit (1) and Goldenkit (1).  Maybe one of them will be her apprentice?   Halfnoise knows that, since Conegoat died, Gladepatch has had to take on more responsibility in the healer's den.  He hopes that he’s taking his own personal health seriously.  Fennelpaw (7) is proud of her Healer apprentice brothers.  Poolpaw (7) takes such good care of all of his patients, and Fennelpaw doesn’t even mind taking orders from him.  Internally, though Poolpaw is freaking out.  There’s so much to learn and he’s a bit overwhelmed.  Sleepyfoot (37) and Cypressbadger (37) have been spending more time together since their mom died.  They spar when Cypressbadger visits her nieces in the nursery.  Sleepyfoot enjoys raising her kits with Pigeonspot (40), but she can’t help but stare at Pigeonspot’s sister.  She knows Rustsong is happy with Wildcave, but what would she think about having multiple mates. . .

Moon 168-Newleaf
Featherspeck’s siblings are shocked by the news of her death.  They each handle it in different ways, though.  Rabbitfur (24) relies on her clanmates to comfort her, although she wonders if things will ever feel normal again without Featherspeck in her life.  She was so used to being overshadowed by her sister’s power, but now she isn’t.  Now she’s the most powerful of the surviving siblings.  It feels wrong.  Wormdart (24) withdraws into himself, letting himself mourn Featherspeck and the time they should have had together.  No one can begrudge him the need to grieve.  Her death also leaves Sleepyfoot (34) as the only surviving parent of their kits.  She may not have loved Featherpspeck, per se, but she does love their kits.  She has even announced that she is expecting more kits and has moved into the nursery while her older kits are still in it.  Interesting.  The Clan wonders who their other parent is.  The kits in question are handling the death of their mother as well as can be expected.  They’ve also been relying on the older apprentices to help   Fennelkit (4) is having a good time with Finchpaw (9) and Glowkit (4) takes comfort in snuggling with Palepaw (8).  Asterkit (4) even joins in the cuddle pile, rethinking his previous harsh judgment of the apprentice.  The cat who seems to be struggling the most is Poolkit (4).  He’s been a little testy lately and is bickering with Chervilcry (147), who’s only trying to help him.  Despite the grief, Creekstar (22) is pleased with the amount of young cats in the Clan.  She knows that there was a time, when her grandparents were alive, where there were almost no young cats.  It’s good to see the Clan thriving under her care. Wildcave (51) is also thinking about the young cats.  He wonders if he should be more protective of his kits and is really impressed with how brave Volcanoblossom (95) is.  Sometimes he feels like he should be braver, considering his fire-blessing. Wildcave has been paying closer attention to his kits and has realized that, maybe because of being powerless and living a relatively sheltered life, Halfpaw (9) struggles with fitting in with his siblings.  He vows to watch out for him better.  Meanwhile, Mossypaw (10) confides in Gladepatch (44) that he feels overshadowed by Primpaw (10) sometimes.  Actually, make that most of the time.  She’s so powerful and valued in the Clan, but he’s just another fiery cat.  Gladepatch reassures him and explains why Primpaw is valued and given special attention.  It doesn’t mean that Mossypaw is any less valuable-and besides, it’s always good to have fire-blessed cats around.  For a time the Clan was as low on them as they are now on water-blessed cats.

Moon 161-Greenleaf
Rumors reach the Clan that the exiled Yuccawillow (140) has died.  The Clan does not mourn her, and Creekstar (15) and Gladepatch (37) can’t help but feel a little relieved.  Gladepatch has also heard from StarClan that they were sent to the dark forest.  As she deserved.  The Clan will be telling tales of the corrupted star-blessed leader for generations.  Hopefully it will help with the prejudices against cats based on their powers.  The Clan is a bit more shaken when Chaskingskip (73) is killed in a landslide caused by early greenleaf rains.  Chervilcry (140) feels like the world has ended with the death of her last kit.  One day, the Clan will have kittens who never knew Chasingskip in life, but Chervilcry vows to ensure that Chasingskip’s memory will live on through her.  Sleepyfoot (27) and Cypressbadger  (27) comfort her, although they too are mourning the loss of their mother.  Sleepyfoot is hit especially hard, with her death coming so soon after Caterpillarmallow’s.  She sists vigil that night as grief fills her heart.  She keeps searching for tasks to do, cats to comfort, distractions against the hole in her heart, as she fights to keep the grief from consuming her.   Meanwhile, Frostheart (64) realizes that she is one of the most senior warriors in the Clan.  It feels weird, because she was always the youngest one of her siblings, who are now all gone.  She decides to spend some time with the youngest of the warriors.  She enjoys spending time with Rabbitfur (17), but Wormdart (17) has proven to be a little unreliable.  She asked him for help with a camp chore, and he abandoned her.  How rude!  Another senior warrior, Amethystdapple (88) is feeling a little cramped in a full nursery.  She loves her kits, but she watches Cypressbadger leave camp with longing.  How she wishes she could go out on patrol.  But she needs to stay in camp.  Her kits are all quite powerful and she doesn’t want to risk leaving and having them burn the camp down!  (or having Primkit-3- accidentally kill someone. . .)  Also in the nursery, Rustsong (30) is a little intimidated by raising kits that are more powerful than her.  Riftkit (2) especially is proving to be a handful.  Volcanoblossom (88) decides to take it upon herself to tell the other cat about how she cared for her own kits, but Rustsong is distracted.  No, Riftkit, don’t light your sister on fire!  Featherspeck (17) feels a little upset that she hasn’t been given more responsibility in the Clan yet.  She’s powerful. She should be doing more to help, but instead she’s stuck entertaining squirrely kits.  Joy.

Things were going so well in the Clan.  Key word: were.  Amethystdapple (84) had moved into the nursery and Rustsong (26)  had announced that she was expecting kits.  But then Caterpillarmallow (106) was found murdered.  The culprit is unknown, but Featherspeck (13) picks up faint traces of ElementClan scent by the scene.  Peakspots (126) wasn’t a big fan of Caterpillarmallow, but she was his clanmate, first and foremost.  He bows his head at the vigil respectfully.  Cressfreckle (73), Conegoat (40), and Gladepatch (33) have a suspect though:  Yuccastar (136).  Their mate didn’t like Caterpillarmallow, so maybe they murdered her for him.  Their suspicions remain unproven, though.  Chasingskip (69), despite her somewhat rough relationship with the mother of her kits, is sad to see Caterpillarmallow go.  She was such a special cat.  Cypressbadger (23) and Sleepyfoot (23) are devastated by the loss of their mother.  Cypressbadger keeps close to her friends and clanmates, seeking out their comfort and company.  Sleepyfoot listens to memories shared of Caterpillarmallow.  Some of them make her laugh, others make her cry.  Most of them do both.  She misses her mom, but is glad that she is with Burrowpaw in StarClan now.  With feeling like he’s failed by not exposing Yuccastar sooner, Cressfreckle is testy.  He’s complaining that Featherspeck and Pigeonspot never do anything helpful (even though they do).  Conegoat notices this, deduces the real reason behind his mood, and reassures him that Caterpillarmallow’s death wasn’t his fault. Cressfreckle still decides to do some more investigating of Yuccastar (subtly, of course), and the three of them decide to tell Sleepyfoot and Cypressbadger their suspicions.  Sleepyfoot believes them and gives Yuccastar bitter herbs on purpose.  Cypressbadger is less sure.  Creekpaw (11) has also been told about her family’s suspicions.  As such, she’s reluctant to spar with Yuccastar today.  But she does anyways because she understands that it’s necessary that she doesn’t suspect anything.
Meta: In the game, it is still (up to where I've played as of queuing this post) unknown who Caterpillarmallow's killer was. I just recently checked the code (as in, a week before this post went public) and it turns out that Peakspots was actually the one who killed her! But I didn't know that when I was writing these moons and it would have changed a lot later on. So, in canon, Yuccastar killed her. It just makes sense.

Moon 154-Leaf-bare
Leaf-bare illness has hit.  Chiku (88) has gotten whitecough, Creekpaw (8) has gotten greencough, and Featherpaw (10) has gotten yellowcough.  Oof.  Creekpaw is tempted to heal herself with her dark-cursed powers, but Caterpillarmallow (104) tells her not to.  It’s dangerous.  Creekpaw sighs, but relents.  For now.  If she starts feeling much worse, it can’t hurt that much to help herself, can it?  In other medical news, Yuccastar (133) is getting older and Caterpillarmallow is worried that she’s pushing herself too hard.  They bristle and snap at their Healer.  She knows what she can handle!  Caterpillarmallow is starting to feel old herself and has taken to sparring with Featherpaw to sharpen her skills.  She needs to be able to fight high powered cats, and Featherpaw needs to practice fighting, even though she’s sick.  It’s good for both of them.  While Featherpaw’s training is going well, Frostheart (57) is a little frustrated with training Rabbitpaw (10).  The young cat doesn’t want to follow her orders!  Something to do with having a ‘strong moral code’ which apparently, Frostheart doesn’t have.  Pigeonspot (23) wasn’t this contrary!  But during a patrol, she notices that Rabbitpaw is acting off.  She asks her what is wrong, and Rabbitpaw explains that she doesn’t feel like she’s doing good enough, even though she’s really trying.  Frostheart feels a surge of sympathy for the young cat, who grew up in a Clan without parents, and curls around her.  She purrs softly and tells her a story of her own apprentice days, and her own mistakes.  Frostheart promises that nobody but Rabbitpaw will remember her mistakes.  Wildcave (37) continues to buck Peakspots’ (123) advice.  He knows how to be deputy!  He might even be leader one day.  He doesn’t need the old deputy trying to school him.  It’s past his time.  His sister, Conegoat (37), is enjoying that Cypressbadger (20) keeps coming to the healer's den to check on her sick apprentice.  She has very pretty eyes. . .and Conegoat isn’t the only Healer with romance brewing.  Gladepatch (30) has taken to admiring Sleepyfoot (20) from afar. Well, as far as he can get when they both work in the same den. While on patrol, Gladepatch comes across a StarClan visitor.  It’s Yellowcreek!  He tucks his paws under him and listens to the advice his father has to give him about parenting a dark-cursed cat.
Meta: This moon, Moorleg died while she was lost. RIP Moorleg.

Moon 149-Greenleaf
At long last, Sleepypaw (15) has been made a full Healer.  She is named Sleepyfoot in honor of her serenity.  Steppemimic (32) thinks fondly back to when Sleepyfoot was a kit, running around in the healer's den and following after her mom.  She’s come so far.  Yuccastar (128) has been watching the new kits closely.  It makes Gladepatch (25) nervous.  He tries to distract her by asking her to speak up in a conversation they’re having but it doesn’t work.  She just keeps staring at Creekkit (3).  Does she suspect something?  Fry (56) is not a fan of how close Frostheart (52) is getting to his daughter, Steppemimic.  He got in a spat with her over a piece of fresh-kill, but it was really about him being an overprotective dad.  Peakspots (118) feels like Wildcave (32) is too headstrong of a deputy and brings it up with him, but the two get in a fight.  Wildcave is a different cat than Peakspots.  He’ll be deputy however he likes!  Pigeonspot (18) has noticed that Gladepatch seems to be hiding something.  She knows that plants tend to inch away from an earth-blessed cat when they lie, and they’ve been doing that whenever he’s been talking about his kits.  What is going on?  Amethystdapple (76), on the other paw, is watching the kits with fondness.  She laughs when Featherkit (5) blows a gust of wind at Wormkit (5) from behind, knocking him over.  She knows they’ll grow out of it when they’re apprentices, so she’ll enjoy it while it lasts.  She wonders if Fry  would ever like to have more kits.  Songkit (3)is a bit annoyed at Rabbitkit (5).  The older kit is always rubbing it in his face that he doesn’t have powers and she does.  He really wants to tell her that he actually does have powers.  And light her on fire.  Just a little bit.  But he can’t.  Because Gladepatch says so.  Sigh.  While on a patrol, Fry and Cypressbadger (15) come across a kittypet with her kits.  She introduces herself as Blossom (76) and explains that she fled her twolegs when one of them beat her kit, Rocky (4).  The Clan agrees to take her and her three kits in, and she changes her name to Volcanoblossom.  It turns out that she has an incredibly strong water-blessing, even rivaling that of the deceased Shardfrost.   Her youngest kit, Slipkit (4), is powerless, although with the amount of noise she makes it’s easy to forget.  The scarred Rockykit does have magic, although his water-blessing is very weak.  Her third kit, Whistlekit (4), is on the complete opposite side of the power spectrum.  She has a water-blessing that may be even more powerful than her mother’s.  She’s already flooded the camp, which Chervilcry (128) and Volcanoblossom have to clean up.  She’ll  be a formidable warrior when she’s grown.

Moon 186-Leaf-fall
Eight moons after the first batch of cats went missing, the same curse strikes again.  This time, some of Creekstar’s (40) worst fears come true: kits are killed.  Robinkit (3), Logkit (3), Mousekit (3), and Swiftkit (4) all go missing, shrinking Poolbounce’s (22) children in number from six to two.  Elmroot (16) also goes missing and, when Sleepyfoot (52) and Pigeonspot (55) go looking for their son, they too vanish.  Astertwist (22) and Gladepatch (62) are out on patrol together and never come back.  Mossyfleck (28) and Rabbitfur (42) also leave one day and vanish.  Cypressbadger (52) finds their stiff and cold bodies, leaving her in a state of shock.  The Clan reels from the loss of so many more cats.  Silverkit (4) can’t believe that his sister is gone.  Somehow, the world feels colder and crueler now.  He can’t help the way his voice cracks recalling Swiftkit’s too short life at the vigil.  Even so, he forces a smile, knowing Swiftkit would want a celebratory memorial.  Glowquake (22) looks at Astertwist’s body and feels exhaustion.  Still, he sluggishly ambles around camp, hoping, somehow, somewhere, he’ll find his brother alive, happy, and well.  The deaths of both Elmroot and Astertwist leave him and Poolbounce as the only survivors of Sleepyfoot’s kits.  Primcrest (28) wails when she sees the body of Mossyfleck, still and cold.  She spends time by herself, letting herself mourn Mossyfleck and the time they should have had together.  No one can begrudge her the need to grieve for her brother.  Primcrest has also been having nightmares, and her older half-brother, Wildcave (69), comforts her through them.  Creekstar feels like a failure for not being able to protect her Clan from this curse.  And she’s convinced it is a curse, sent by Yuccawillow for exposing her.  Why else would it take her father, Gladepatch, from her? She wonders if, like StarClan cats can give lives, Dark Forest cats can take them.  Or, maybe it’s only Star-blessed Dark Forest cats who can do that. Starclan has also been sending dreams to Poolbounce and Frecklepaw (13).  They must look outside the Clan to bolster their members and beat this curse.  Cypressbadger, despite being shocked, knows that a lot of cats are out of commission right now and volunteers for extra patrols.
Meta: I have decided that this was, in fact, a curse from Yuccawillow. The Clan has lost 23 cats in the past 8 moons. That has been very hard on Creekstar and I'm pretty sure her personality is now insecure (just like Yuccawillow's was. . .). Also, I write the moon summaries themselves as I play the moons, so Creekstar being afraid of kits dying was not originally intended to be foreshadowing this event.
