Then Jim usually ended up being the one to get Spock out of it, too. The Apple, Operation Annihilate, A Private Little War, The Infinite Vulcan, TMP . . . How many times did we see Kirk have to carry Spock body and limb and slightly on fire back to the ship after he got into it?

The amount of shit Jim has to do for Spock in Star Trek III alone.

Spock is like the Enterprise housecat who stubbornly insists on being an outdoor cat and keeps escaping, later having to be carried back indoors. He keeps causing mischief but everybody loves his ass anyway.

Kirk and Spock were chaotic messes who loved their frontier first contact work in TOS and onward -- they deserved each other.😂👌

As with most of my other Murderbot art, there's a long headcanon that goes along with this piece. This one can be summed up as: ART has an unexpectedly difficult time performing system maintenance on its engines using its repair drones after the alien synthetic incident. Murderbot steps in to help out and then continues to periodically help out because they both find that time together soothing.

i get that karl urban is a beefcake but bones is not a fighter, ok? he's not violent, he's not getting into bar fights, he's not physically strong, he barely knows how to shoot a phaser, he's not working out at the gym, he's not punching people. it doesn't matter if bones is being played by deforest kelley or karl urban - he'd lose an arm wrestling match against an eight year old.

leonard mccoy is barely passable in a fight and fighting would be his last resort anyways. the man is a staunch pacifist. don't let his grumpy nature fool you into thinking otherwise.

some aos fics tend to write mccoy as a badass action hero-esque army doctor and that's just not him. leonard "just an old country doctor" mccoy is not john wicking it up in a crisis. he's gonna throw a wimpy punch that's gonna miss and then get his ass wiped. i'm sorry. it's just how he is and i love that about him. literally every other tos character throws down more than bones.

Scotty being played by an actual Scot is something that can be so personal as a scottish trekkie, guys.

The point of putting Scotty on the Enterprise was to prove that Scots can be as highly skilled, qualified and competent as anyone else on that bridge, and casting Martin Quinn feels like another nod to that - you don't have to be a big name to play an iconic Scottish character. And with all due respect to the actors who brought him to life first and helped him get to this point, some characters are just long overdue to be played by a Scot and Scotty is one of those long-beloved characters in Scotland. SNW has made a real effort with casting and developing our favourite underutilised TOS characters so far and I'm excited to see where they take him next. And yes, I WILL be expecting Scottish independence jokes.

We've been ready and waiting for him and now we're finally bringing Scotty home and i will never stop talking about it. Welcome aboard, Martin Quinn, and welcome home, Mr. Scott!
