If someone was impersonating them, what would friends / family ask or do to tell the difference?
@vazaymir asked this too! I could just make something up, buuut- wouldn't it be more fun to just ASK people? I'd find that more fun. Let's do that!
Here are the responses from the people Malika has known the longest. @herowren (Mae):
Mae would prod the suspected-fraudulent-Mal about her full name without giving it, ever, because NO and about STRICTLY FAKE memories that are so anti-Mal or anti-Mae that if it WERE Mal, she'd immediately reject them. Following those, she might prod about their "adoption ceremony" date WHICH MAL DOESN'T -HAVE- TO REMEMBER BECAUSE IT IS ENGRAVED ON THEIR RINGS. If Malika answers with the correct date when she takes off the ring to look or just makes up a date with absolute confidence then it's definitely Mal.
If she either doesn't answer or she answers correctly with absolute confidence without having to take the ring off then it's NOT Mal. Malika: First Sun of the Third Umbral moon. I remember that day like it was yesterday. We stole the shoelaces from every Maelstrom officer's boots and part of your speech to me during the ceremony was about how much you admire and respect me as your elder. (This is all clearly made up- but the shoelaces thing sounds fun) @dumb-hat (Evander) If Evander thought someone was impersonating Malika, he'd probably offer to take them on a very expensive shopping spree, but he'd make sure to mention stuff like how much money he was going to spend, how expensive everything was, stuff like that. If she's impressed by the cost of things or seems greedy, it's not Malika. Malika would rather they spend money on something cheap and fun, then steal the fancy stuff.
But I think he might suspect an impostor and be like "Ah, okay, reverse these values and… Yup. Okay. They think she steals because she wants stuff. Definitely not her. Malika: Ugh. The see if you can agitate me by talking about gil strategy is valid, but uuugh. Quick, We both need to take a drink from an expensive bottle of alcohol and then I need to throw that bottle hard against a wall.
@kestrelvylbrand (Kestrel)
Ok, so my first instinct to the question is that Kes would be oblivious and try to heavily makeout with Malika. And in that process she'd figure out it wasn't her.
Malika: Good detective work there, Kes. Just to be on the safe side, you'd probably better make out with me everytime you see me. You know, just to make sure I'm the real deal.
@argentrenard (Argent)
Argent would ask her to do something, like, anything he can think of right off the bat like "Malika, go steal something off that desk." If she does it without comment, it's not Malika. If she refuses to do it, it's Malika. If she refuses to do it, but then when he leaves or his back is turned DOES do it, it's Malika. Unless he tells her this plan, then if it's really Malika it might be hard to figure out if it's really Malika. Malika: This wouldn't work. Unless it did. But then I'd pretend it didn't anyway. Unless I thought you expected me to pretend that it didn't work in which case I'd.... Uh. I need a drink. Wish I hadn't thrown the bottle against the wall.
@suzhuazheyal (Suzhua) She would ask the nickname that Malika gave her. Malika: I don't remember it in your language, but how could I forget Annoying Sheep?? Affectionately though, right? ...Right?
@the-wanted-man (Roman)
He’d ask her what constellation was in the sky the first time she showed him magic. Malika: You must mean the Hunter. That constellation has a lot of names for a lot of people, all of them as real as the next, but that's what you called it. Thanks for the Ask! That was fun!

Describe their cozy night in. (For EVERYONE!)
Ok this might get a bit long so under a cut you go! (Also blegh I need to do more screens it's been a while but I have no energy...)
Raven/Haurchefant: Be it tucked away in his room in Camp Dragonhead, in the manor, or in their own home, these two will always be snuggled together after dinner either reading or playing music together.
Tumblr media
Rukia/Foulques/Ming: The three of them will cook together and after making a huge meal with plenty of leftovers they will soak in the bath and depending on if someone's feeling frisky will either indulge in sexy time or just relax with crafting stuff.
Tumblr media
Coronettte/Haumeric: Both of them do work late and often come home together. They have a warm meal together before soaking in a hot bath and settling in with a book. Either they read separately with an orcustrion playing or one reads aloud.
Tumblr media
Kaia/Zephirin: Both of them after a ridiculously long day in the forge will just stay smushed on the couch for a minute before getting up to make dinner together. After that Kaia draws a bath and will pamper her husband a little (though he returns the favor) and they soak. At one point Zephirin has fallen asleep on her and she just hauls him into bed before snuggling up with him.
Tumblr media
Charibert/Yotsuyu: Yotsuyu often has a bath at night, but once she's out the two of them will pile in with a book or some other calming thing and relax. She tries to dry her hair but when she's too tired to get it all the way dry Charibert will run her fingers through her hair. It's calming enough that the motion puts her to sleep. Plus any time he does it her hair still remains to be smooth and silky to the touch. She still doesn't entirely know how he does it aside from just his control with his powers is incredible.

2♣️ - What topics of conversation does your muse enjoy the most?
Morganaux:
He loves talking about magic and aetherology, and the more complicated, the better. (And the more dubiously legal, the better.) When he really gets into it with someone on his areas of expertise, the conversation will likely be indecipherable to most people who overhear them.
He also has a soft spot for hearing others talk about their hobbies, even if he has zero interest or knowledge on the matter.
Phoebus:
While not one for conversation in most circumstances, he does like sharing war stories, especially when he's training new recruits to the Imperial Palace's guards.
He also has a love for discussing (and debating about) Garlean literature, and were he more open to socializing, he likely would have felt right at home in a book club.
(...He is also most definitely the kind of person who talks to his plants, but it'll be hard to catch him in the act.)
Apollo:
Friendly, civil debates are his favorite type of conversation! He likes learning new ideas and new perspectives because even though he might not agree with what someone has to say, it makes him think and see things in a different way. He doesn't care about what the topic is (within reason, of course) so long as it's something thought-provoking.
He has, on multiple occasions, booked rooms in the Hall of Rhetoric for date nights, because nothing can possibly be more romantic than getting into a heated discussion about philosophy, medical ethics, or really anything for that matter.

speculation for how I think the plot of DA4 may go (or at least, the direction I would go) so potential spoilers, but - It’s funny to me that after Loghain in origins, people don’t seem to consider the possibility of Solas becoming a (optional) companion character (or advisor character) again, after you and solas are done fighting and the greater threat/scope of conflict is revealed at the 50% story mark. Like, it’s a very real possibility and would be very interesting. It’s what happens in Chrono Trigger and FFXIV with similar characters, and I remember the DA developers going wild with praise over the writing of FFXIV. Imagine how cool it would be to have his advice again, but this time without pretense. He stands in the corner with his deeper voice, sounding melancholy, feeling estranged from the other companions. think about how that would feel and how interesting that would be, and tell me that isn’t a BioWare move. Even people who hate him would be torn about killing him because they might want to get rid of him, but he is the only one with living knowledge about the evanuris. anyway I’ve been thinking about being able to talk more with him, openly, and I think any good writer would too

~Commissions are open!~
Such beauty it could be if you distributed this post - or even had desire to aquire something for yourself!<ззз
Below I have described in detail almost all the information that I could imagine as neccessary, yet please do not hesitate to write for any reason in a private message or ask - it will be my absolute pleasure to tell or show you more, and I am always glad to have new delightful acquaintances!<зз
Tumblr media
I do portraits in three formats - bust, waist-length and full-length, and with three different stages of completion - line art, flat color and full shadow work. They can be completely different in style, and you should pay close attention to the difference in the execution of these formats - the busts are always more detailed in the character's features, the atmosphere is more consistent in waist-length paintings, and full-length drawings are well suited to demonstrate clothing design or depict a scene. On average, I complete the first stage of work (sketching) in two days, and the second in three, but in case of various circumstances I may leave myself from a week to week and a half - depending on the complexity and its cost, and the duration of the work can vary greatly yet I always try to be transparent and tactful about all possible deadlines and reasons for such.
I adore to experiment with styles and learn new tones of this craft - as each meeting is a start of something beautiful, and I desire to create art that is complex and multifaced, but to an important extend I should say that I do not feel comfortable to copy or imitate other's styles of execution and sensuality, and a lot of expressions and detailing in my work are sudden - art is an journey and yet I would love to share this journey with you;зз
There is a path of my prices:
- Bust of one character up to the chest - $ 70 - Portrait of one or more characters up to the waist - $ 80 For each additional character + 20 $ - Character (or several) in full growth - $ 90 For each additional character + 30 $ Cost of more complex and expressive pieces and backgrounds are increased by tips, which I express as an deeply loyal and tactful system - it is absolutely voluntary and happens only at the end of the project, so you have ability to define their cost to your feelings and abilities and nothing over that<зз Oh!! And you have read almost everything! Thank you so much! And also here, under the cut, I describe the whole process of work and how we pay. This is quite useful information for other questions that you may have if you desire to purchase my work, therefore I may advise you to take a look at it too;з
How do we work on an order?
Please feel free to contact me via Tumblr for any questions you may acquire! ~
After I discuss the content of the painting with the client and receive additional materials from them (a photo of the person I am drawing, or references that are close to what is expected of me), I start creating the first sketch.
In accordance with the request, I make a sketch of the future painting, which will contain all its important elements and an approximate color scheme (if any) that I will use. At this stage, you can freely make your amendments, and when the content suits you, I will ask you for an advance payment of half the cost of the work without additional prices of background or detailing.
After that, work on the portrait will begin. Its duration varies on several factors - to a greater extent on the volume and complexity of the work itself, as well as on my own workload with other orders.
After completing the portrait, I will send you its version in low quality- after you familiarize yourself with it (there is also possible some edits - of tones and color, elements of shading, character features and small details), and after you pay the rest of the amount, you shall receive the final result of our artwork! ~

I made a lot of comparisons between Solas and Emet-Selch back in Shadowbringers, and to be sure there's a lot to compare there, particularly in terms of their goals and desires for the future of the world. But having finished main Endwalker (I'm at the beginning of 6.3), I realize now that in terms of the past, Emet-Selch isn't the Solas figure.
Venat is.
Venat is the one who broke the world--sundered it, even, a word both franchises are fond of--because, as Solas puts it in Trespasser, "every alternative was worse." The Evanuris would have destroyed the world and sacrificed untold lives to maintain their power. The survivors of the Final Days would have continued sacrificing untold lives to Zodiark in hopes of restoring their "paradise." Solas and Venat both know there is no choice they can make that calls for no sacrifice. They both simply choose to make a different one. And they both live for ages hence with the weight of what they've done, the suffering they have caused, because they believed the alternative was worse.
Emet-Selch in Shadowbringers is a version of Solas who never comes to see the people of the future as people, as lives just as worthy of saving as those of ancient times. (And even he kind of does in the end, it just takes, you know. dying. for him to acknowledge it.) But Venat, past and future, is more analogous to a version of Solas that a lot of fans (myself included) believe it's possible for him to become: one who believes in the future and in its people enough to let the past go.
And I love them all.

If I had a nickel for every time a character that goes by Sol*s tries to destroy the world because he views the beings that exist now as mere shades of his people due to a great disaster happening and wants to bring his people back at the cost of killing everyone that exists now, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

The more I think about it the more I think Emet-Selch has a level of tragedy living in the future that’s worse than solas’s from dragon age.
Like, Solas woke up and his peoples culture was gone and misremembered, and no one lives as long.
Emet-selch watched as it changed, and from the very first moment saw people who could remember nothing of the fallen empire, not even a myth of a myth! And on top of that, he can see the shredded up souls of his friends and family! Just essentially watching their mangled minds wandering around in clay dolls. Hoping they will forgive him for breaking their toys when he puts them back together again.
The added layer if “being surrounded by shredded versions of my friends”
Has got to be rough.

Okay..... I don't know if I would ever implement DA into my verse....but if I did. Solas is the face that Emet Selch wore in that world. No I will not elaborate.
