my timbern hot take is that i thank god everyday that we got riley rossmo's art for those first few issues instead of serg acuña's because i know some of you bitches would've been extremely weird about timbern if we had gotten acuña's manga-esque style from the beginning
#some of you people would've been soooo weird about them#ooooh i just /know/ the discourse would've been so fucking crazy#and there would've been way too much discussion over who tops#and cause they drew tim taller in acuña's style#you woulda had people swearing up and down that it's tim#this post feels like swinging a bat at a hornet's nest#the amt of tiny waist/waif-like bear we would've gotten???#oh my god i'm like thanking every god i know that i ended up in this universe#who do you think would've gotten daddy-dom-ified?#i wanna say tim just bc he's a superhero and bear's a civvie but... maybe bear?#tim goes out and saves the city each night and then goes home and immediately becomes more pathetic than a wet dog for bear#i will be logging off after this /j#gonna post this and then immediately scrub the memory of this post out of my mind#also i think bear's pov issue was the perfect place for acuña's art#sorry but bear deserves to be drawn like that all the time#acuña idc if you work on the next shitty batfam story#i will always defend you#some dude 20yrs from now talking about acuña's work: didn't he do like *insert absolutely horrendous comic run here*#me frothing at the mouth: yeah but he did tdr7 so really i think it cancels out#dc#bernard dowd#tim drake#timber#timbern#also if we're being honest there is a reason that timbern got semi popular over jayjon#and that's bc timbern are 2 ***** men and jay is east asian and people will ship anything if they're *****#and bc ppl are still really hung up on d*m*j*n for some reason???? as if they aren't still friends???#and if you really want a mlm ship for damian‚ colin wilkes is right there!!!!#nika is right there!!! stop playin in my face!!!!#and!! i would argue that jayjon is written better than timbern

Soooo... what are your thoughts on a split in the OCS after the events of Season 1? I mean, Ava wasn't super popular in the OCS/those in-the-know since she was "the one who ran away", and Beatrice and Cam essentially went rogue when they helped her escape Crimson at the Cat's Cradle. So why would anyone believe her telling them that Adriel and his story were all a lie, when he himself is there claiming to be an Angel, returned to save humanity? (it's not like they can see the wraith demons at his command)
Duretti (if he doesn't bury his head in the ground) and Superion can support Ava's claims, but it's still the word of a non-believer against the guy centuries worth of their teachings claim is an angel.
It would also make the massacre of the OCS members even more devastating if their numbers had already been whittled down due to divided loyalties, only to have those who remained loyal to the Warrior Nun be slaughtered by double agents who truly believed in Adriel.
(also, felt it was kinda weird when pretty much all the uniformed FBC people were dudes)
(furthermore thinking on how much would've been added if Lilith's family sided with Adriel, and how much that would have influenced her decisions)
god this is so intriguing. when you think about it… the whole Lore of the ocs is based on the angel Adriel giving up his halo to save a dying human woman. if he wants it back… well, who are they to deny him? and thinking on the temptation to have it be over. most of the ocs have watched their friends die, their sisters thrown at the problem of evil until they’re no longer useful cannon-fodder.
god’s angel appears and tells you to put down your sword… damn, maybe that’s what you do.
on the other hand i feel like… probably out of everyone on the planet it’s the ocs sisters who’d have reason to side-eye adriel the hardest. sure, ava’s an unknown, but mother superion? mary? beatrice the golden child of the ocs? of course looking at it a different way what you have is a disgraced ex-halo-bearer, a usurping non-believer, and beatrice who was sent away by duretti & refused to go. sure, duretti is the pope, but individual orders obey the vatican in theory, but in practice things are more complex. and for the ocs, who have always acted as a shadow organisation, the ability to… well… disregard vatican oversight is probably a baked-in thing.
i feel like the split would be extreme. those who want to believe in adriel vs those who are dedicated to the mission: to keep hell the fuck off of earth, keep people safe from the influence of demons.
there’s good reason to be skeptical of adriel’s claims. he was buried under the vatican, the latin on the wall said ‘please don’t touch this ever. let what’s dead rest’ etc etc. seemed like just a thing you might put on a tomb, but the whole 'live specimen inside' thing might give pause. either we believe that st peter gives what the vatican decides legitimacy or we trust an angel as the unilateral word of god. the bible says maybe don’t do that.
ESPECIALLY if they saw footage of Adriel infecting a whole courtyard of bystanders with demons, i think most of the ocs would trust in what duretti & superion told them. god can speak from the mouth of a heretic (ava), and there’s plenty of ammunition in catholic theology for fallen angels/ agents of the devil/ the devil usually comes in disguise.
they know that Bad Shit is leaking in from some hellscape (most of them likely assume it’s captial-letter Hell) and now the long-lost author of their order appears and attacks (apparently kills) mary in broad daylight? they might be devout but they’re also in the know in a way that few people are, and i think the ocs by its nature is insular. i think mostly these girls come for the service to god & stay for each other, die for each other.
a schism is certainly possible (ahem, not unprecedented in christianity) but i think the ocs sisters trust each other. i think the way that mary died might move them. vincent’s betrayal too. does that look like the work of god? again, immense skepticism over any person claiming to be a mouthpiece for god.
BUT i see you about the idea that literally a handful of traitors would be enough. and that feels so plausible as to be almost guaranteed. sisters tired of fighting a battle of attrition with their bodies, ppl like crimson, the ones who just want it to be over. we really only learn that the ocs was compromised (and i’m inclined to think not by vincent because damn guys u would have done the smart thing & called bust on every safe-house vincent knew about, right??)
the idea that the way the ocs tosses spent sisters aside leads to its near-annihilation is… compelling.
& 🫠 lilith’s family turning on the ocs. i mean, they’d be hand-in-hand with lilith there, no? she sides with adriel. really & truly she IS our example of a girl who is all but tossed aside when she’s not useful. lost, alone, feeling monstrous, she turns to adriel because he can bear to look at her.
you’re so right that there’s so much to be said for the ocs as an organisation that literally chews up & spits out its soldiers. it’s a war machine & so despite superion & shannon & mary trying so hard to make it human and caring and good - i mean, the institution is… well… an Institution. it doesn’t have a heart.
& i think that’s what ava brings to it, what she shows them. that
1. you have to try to stop the cycle of violence. you have to at least try.
and 2. making an army out of lost girls is dangerous. like bea, they’ll throw themselves at danger; like lilith, they’ll throw themselves at death.
just… thinking of shannon & her ghost. how angry she is at the whole circus. of mary & her quiet sadness, so long in the making that her sorrow feels worn even when it’s new.
thinking of ava as a thesis in how you really fight back the darkness
by being the light

MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS / SPENCER REID
Request: no
tw: none i think?
you probably would've joined after him, but omg you walked in and he was like omg smash
but he was soooo quiet and lowkey highkey wanted to talk to you, but didn't know how (he did he was just hella nervous)
you thought he hated you cause he would never talk to you
"good morning reid! how are you?"
"yeah 🫠"
EVERYONE could tell spence had a little thing for you except for you
penny made it her life goal to set you two up, and she roped derek in to help aswell
well girls night happens (it was just you and penny) and penny is trying to convince you that no, spencer reid does not hate your guts
"he doesn't hate you y/n! he's just nervous"
"penny i've had more meaningful conversations with hotch than i've had overall conversations with reid" 🧍
so you did have reason to think reid hates you, but derek is working his ass off trying to get him to talk to you (and to hopefully ask you out)
"just... what if she says no? i mean we havent talked, much and she might not even want to hang out as friends..."
"didn't she buy you and JUST you a coffee the other day? and didn't she go out of her way to find out your favorite donut when she bought them?"
"yeah 😔"
he FINALLY pulls his big boy pants up after they finish up a case in new york, and they were staying an extra night cause it was like 10 pm and nobody wants to sleep on a plane.
everybody is leaving the police station and getting in their respective vehicles
you were about to get in with elle, but derek takes your place so now you're happily stuck with spencer.
your palms were sweaty and there was this awkward silence
you finally say something, to be able to (hopefully) rid of all of this tension, and to maybe? get him to not "hate" you anymore.
"sooo... this case was pretty tough huh?"
"yeah, gender really changes the profile. you could get so far with the idea of it being a man but it could end up being a woman and changing the whole thing.."
and he goes on a little rant about a case where they got the wrong profile and it messed them up completely
you were pretty quiet, so when he realizes halfway through that he's been ranting, he looks over expecting to see you ignoring it, but no, you were staring at him, and you looked... interested?
"what happened next?"
he blushed so hard and smiled to himself, continuing his little rant. most people just cut him off, it was a nice change for someone to listen and want to.
thought about that moment continuously, could not get it off his mind, was 100% smiling stupidly to himself while doing things like brushing his teeth and changing.
could not stand it anymore, he HAD to ask you out (this sudden urge of confidence was led on by the fact it was almost midnight)
knocks on your hotel door and is bouncing on his feet, he's so nervous and is now realizing it's so late so he starts to go to walk back to his room when you open the door and he's like 'shit wtf do i do this is so weird'
then he looks like you, and he's rendered speechless. like yes, he's seen you before but you're always in your professional attire, you look so domestic right now and he feels like he's going to melt.
"reid? what are you doing up? are you ok?"
poor baby feels so bad that he's made you worried but you're worried??
"um, well, i don’t know how to say this but doyouwannagooutwithmeplease”
like babe slow DOWN i cannot understand you 😭
“what” 🧍
“do you wanna go to a coffee shop with me when we get back”
spoiler alert, you said yes 🤭
the second he left you called up penny
“wtf do you want i’m sleeping”
“PENNY HE ASKED ME OUT”
“WHAT”
y’all stayed up all night going over it about 20 times (it wasn’t even a 5 minute interaction) and ended up with the same amount of sleep you would've gotten on the jet
thank god the next day is saturday. penny came over at 10 to make you get up and ready for your date at 1.
he shows up in a brown sweater, some boyfriend jeans, and some converse and u were like 🤭🤭
you're so glad penny helped you with your outfit because you guys matched a little bit
you guys order some coffee and food and just talk and hang out
he's so sweet and wants to learn so much about you and you wanna learn so much about him so it feels like an interview at first but you guys then start to flow better and suddenly you guys never want to leave
after an hour and a half you guys leave the coffee shop, but continue to just walk around and talk
he walks you to your car at around 4:30 and hugs you goodbye and you're like what 😨😨 he hates physical contact
its got both you and him all giddy
everyone in the bau on monday can tell that somethings happened because spencer isn't terrified to go near you and you guys are actually conversing
the bau is very relieved because FINALLY you guys can talk to each other and its not awkward

Getting a job in that company wasn't easy, he'd worked a lot and made the right connection to get in a favourable position with a decent salary right off the bat
His arrogance had a charm to it that only people in business could make work, belittling the meeker competition and still gaining the kindness of the clients and useful coworkers
Oh he's had women all over him as well but he's got a beautiful girlfriend at home, or at least that's what he says to uphold his image
In reality things are a bit.. different
It's funny to think of it, someone who did so much for his image and job just meeting someone in a bar, it almost made him embarrassed, just like how he was when he realized he enjoyed his company a bit more than he thought
In fact, he had a lot of unlearning to do ever since things became this different, starting from the fact he may not be as straight as he thought
His "girlfriend" he liked to mention when he wanted to appeal to a client couple's hearts was never really a girl to begin with, he was just some guy he met at a bar
Something about such a mundane setting slowly eased him into dropping the stiff charade he put on, that guy eased him into this; it was a talent really, cause after that he was eased in a lot more things.
[...]
"Hello babe" that voice made him lift his eyes from the computer screen, it was him "did I keep you waiting?"
He quickly hushed him "don't call me that, people can still hear you!" Not like it would've been anything compared to the sounds that were about to come out of that room anyway
"Of course darling, your reputation is so important" he was dressed professionally, probably to not stick out "but you called me here, didn't you?"
"I- I never did that"
"Of course, you just joked about it over and over hoping I'd get the hint" his hand shifted over to the buisness man's crotch, already hard "you're lucky I know you. We don't have much time
You know what to do."
Soon he was bent over the desk, swallowing down his pride as the other man's fingers stretched him, purposeful movements made his cock twitch with the anticipation of what's coming next
As the man laid there panting he felt the smaller one's zip come undone, his strap already in place: he remembers he told him about these.. uh.. STP was it? Something 3 in 1 anyway, he found out the first time he bred him outside the privacy of his bed.
"Look at you, you're taking it so easy now" his hand brushed his balls, taking in the sight of the bigger man spread out on a desk for him "you're so handsome like this"
He knew he needed the praise, he needed something to keep him feeling good about himself until the pleasure built up, he wasn't a trained whore just yet, but he liked the chase anyway
"You ready babe?" but he merely asked to see the once proud man shily and ever so imperceptibly nod before he pushed his strap in him.
The feeling was as weird as the first time he tried it, he secretely hoped it would never stop feeling that way: being filled all over and over, his prostate being relentlessly stimulated by the thrusts
He thought he could only feel good with his dick, he wasn't ready for the deep, visceral pleasure he would receive by being touched so deep
Truly, he loved the man's cock, he had a whole collection at home almost as if he never wanted him to get used to it: every time he succumbed to the pleasure he would switch it up, textures and bumps changing to rub spots he didn't know he had and fucking his self respect out thrust by thrust
His mind went blank thinking about it, all the different cocks he's been fucked with, all by the same man, the one that was taking him again in his own office, the only one who managed to take him to suck a high
He had worked so much for this job, truly
And now he's staring at his door, secretly hoping he's have brought a gag as well

hey fellas this is the cringe website, so I'm gonna go on record real quick okay? I just watched all the willy wonka movies (1971, 2005, 2023) and I NEED to rant about it. Also, I don't really know if we need a warning for this, but I go on a rant about the 2005 one being kinda racist/weird/groomer-ish so there's like a warning i guess.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Novel, 1964): Never read it
Have not read the book. Coming out and saying that now, just to be like, transparent or whatevr.
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971): Banger, 10/10
My dad put this on one night (after he had watched both the 1971 movie and the 2005 one) and made me watch it. I had never seen it before and was waiting for some cringey dated 70's humor, maybe even a slur or something, but uh, nope. Gene Wilder was delivering every line with right amount of crazy person energy, without feeling creepy (at least to me). The bits were funny, and (again from my casual viewing) inoffensive. Some of the songs were boring, but when the obvious bangers played, I was hooked. The Oompa-Loompas were pretty funny, and never overstayed their welcome. The focus of this movie is mostly Charlie and Wonka, which is fair considering that's what the book is about (I think like I said I actually never read the book) Far as I am remembering, it was good, clean, killing(?) kids with candy fun.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(2005): Dogshit film, 3/10
Fucking HATED this shit! The like, Native people direction they took with the Oompa-Loompas??? Omg, every scene felt like a FUCKING hate crime! And their songs were mid, I especially cringed during the first one and the last one. And Johnny Depp does that fucking horrible like.... battle cry thingy to call them as opposed to using the gay-ass little flute Gene Wilder Wonka did???? And the Oompa-Loompas keep doing this like, hands crossed over the chest salute thing? And they row a big boat, with a big drum keeping the rythm? Like WHY are they like this in the movie? And they aren't orange and green and silly anymore, they're just like dark skinned guys? With black hair? Which Idk, would've been an alright change i guess, if they didn't also do a whole scene where William Wanking is running thorugh the jungle in his teddy roselvelte ass outfit, and the oompa-loompas like don't speak english, do "silly" tribal dances to summon cocoa beans or something? and eat bugs???? like that's..... certainly a choice for the film.... And it's even grosser cause in both films mr. wilfred wonder or whatever refers to loompa land as like a horrid place to live or whatever, but when Gene Wilder said it, it kinda felt more like "yeah these little orange dudes get eaten by monsters and shit" and when Johnny Depp says it, it's like "yeah, they lived in a STINKY GROSS PLACE IN TREE HUTS AND THEY WERE POOR!!!! AND GRODY!!!!! Ewww, but after I stripped them of that culture and made them live in my factory, their lives are better now" idk super super weird to me. He also does a scene where the joke is he's just using like AAVE i think? He's like "ARe you hip to it? Are you jive? Slide me some skin, soul-brother!" and like, fucking stop, stop talking like that even if it isn't offensive, it's sure as hell cringey to hear a white, bill cipher human design looking mother fucker to start saying some bull shit like that. And the scene of uh, Violet or whatever getting turned into a blueberry???????? Straight up felt like inflation porn on DeviantArt! She gets big like ass first, and even looks at her ass like "oh dam I'm getting caked up" LIKE SIR THIS IS A CHILD! Same with the scene of Veruca Salt getting attacked by squirrels it felt so fetishy and weird idk. and also this version of WOnka is giving soma MAJOR OVERT Groomer/PEdo vibes like it's SOOOO Fucking gross I hated this movie. And all the Willy Wanker flashbacks are so boring and unessecary. Like shut up. There's just a bunch of scenes like that where I'm like "was this in the book or something?" Like the scene where he builds chocolate palace for a guy in India (complete with the typical 2005 depiction of an Indian man and woman i.e. the head turban things and a very pronounced accent, also the palace was just like chocolate Taj Mahal I'm pretty sure but whatever) but the chocolate melts (and drops on his forhead, between his eye brows. Y'lnow? Get it? Cause the... they have the dot.... thing... like SHUT UP IT'S NOT FUNNY) There was some funny lines, and I thought it was funny that Charlie was played by the dude who plays the Good Doctor (my dad was like "I couldn't watch it without thinking about he was going to say he was a surgeon), but every other scene felt almost illegal to watch. ALSO they drop the R-slur in this movie, which doesn't surprise me considering it was 2205, but if the film from the 70's sexulized the children less, had no slurs in it??? like ok, why are we adding offensive stuff to the equation of this children's movie?
Wonka (2023): Went in as a hater, came out as a fan 8/10
I was like "Who asked for this movie? Do we need another willy wonka movie??" But, I was pleasantly surprised. It had a lot of heart, the effect were pretty nice, I liked the characters. I guess they were given permission or something by Roald Dahl's family or something (i watched a behind the scenes thing, but i don't remember much about it) to do some new stuff with the Wonka character. So a lot of the characters are new, or heavily expanded on. I thought the humor really matched the 1971 film, a lot of funny bits. Timothee Chalamet, who isn't my favorite guy, was surprisingly charming as Wonka, I was ready to be rolling my eyes every time he said something. But, again, he was actually pretty silly, with the sort of seeds planted for him to turn into the Gene Wilder version of Wonka. The kid, Noodle, was also pretty silly. I liked the dynamic between her and William Wonkilla, it felt significantly more wholesome and WAYYY less creepy than anything in the Johnny Depp version. There's also a dead mom backstory for Wanker, and I'm a sucker for that sort of over done cringe, so yeah, I might've gotten like... a little emotional. They made the Oompa-Loompa(s) orange again, and they do the old oompa-loompa song! Pretty pleased with that as well, especially after the painful experience that was the 2005 version of Wonking. Me, my sister, and my dad were all surprised by how much we like this new one, even though I still don't think it was necessary? But again, welcome surprise. Omfg, also, in the BTS thing we watched, there was this sort of unspoken shade being thrown at the 2005 one like there was one guy who was like "Y'know, it's sort of a daunting task because so many great actors have played this character. Y'know, you got Gene Wilder. And now we have Timothee Chalamet- LIKE WOW OKAY DAMN NOT EVEN GONNA SAY HIS NAME!!!! And then also one of the guys, the director or something was like "You can't have a willy wonka movie without Oompa-Loompas, and when I think of oompa-loompas I think orange skin, green hair, you know, funny dances moves" Like, we know what an Oompa-Loompa is.... Why're you mentioning this? Unless, of course, there was a film that went a really weird and uncomfortable route with portraying the Oompa-Loompas?????? OH, like the 2005 one!
The only thing I will say I didn't love with my whole heart was there are a lot of fat jokes. like, there's a cop who puts on a lot of weight throughout the film and it's a little juvenile and sorta dumb and overdone, but I guess I understand the sort of thing they're trying to say? Like, he's getting fat because he's eating chocolate that he's being bribed with, so it's like, he's corrupted or whatever, but idk, i don't love the fat jokes. Still, the character is pretty funny.
So yeah, that's my analysis or whatever. I had a lot of fun watching the movies. The release order is how you should watch them lol. The 1971 movie is a classic, you'll watch it a realize you know more about the movie than you thought, just due to pop culture. The 2005 one, you'll probably recognize some sound bits and some of the soundtrack (if you were on tiktok) but most likely, you'll be annoyed and baffled by the changes they made. And THEN you watch the new one, ready for some cringe, and they hit you with a surprisingly cute and wholesome story that sort of destroys all the cringe the 2005 movie gave you.

Hey, I'm sorry to bother you, I just wanted to ask if you still have ideas about the Time Travel AU (the CK one) cause I've been a little obsessed with it (I really love you art ♥️)
Omg CK time travel AU... I'm so happy people still like it, I haven't thought about it in so long :') sadly I don't have any new art of it, but I can add a few notes
The whole idea was always about Miguel and Robby from the end of season 4 waking up around the start of season 2. Neither one knows the other is in the same boat, and it creates some problems as both try to change events in their own ways, thus making different situations harder to predict. They also go about it the wrong way until they get Demetri on board, like they focus on the wrong things to solve the problems.
I was always imagining Miguel waking up on the day he gets his braces removed, because everything will suck for him for a while but at least he'll get to experience that twice ( my people who wore braces will know what I'm talking about)✌️✌️
Before Robby and Miguel figure out they're time travelling buds they try to sabotage each others non-existent relationships. This makes Sam think Miguel still is a jealous douchebag, Tory thinks Robby is...weird. basically, those relationships are soooo dead. I like Robby/Tory (controversial, I know) but it would be complicated. There's a chance for them being endgame, but I'm on the fence about it, cause the point of this AU was more about friendships, especially for Robby.
This one drawing I made where Robby and Miguel sort of talk about juvie/the paralysis was supposed to take place after this big fight they had. Because they're not friendly towards eachother after finding out they're both from the future. They're forced together due to the circumstances, but there's a lot of tension between them that culminates into this big fight where they nearly repeat the event they're trying to avoid. It shakes them to their core, and they realise they don't want this -> they try to talk about it and figure out that they have more in common than they thought.
This was supposed to be the turning point in the au. Pre them making up, everything just went from bad to worse, every situation they tried to fix ended with something else going straight to hell, but once they become friends? Everything suddenly seems to go smoothly. Until it doesn't. (enter fucking Hawk and the feelings they didn't take into account. Because they were all clueless about it.)
Hawk is in love with Miguel. This is true in all universes, I take no criticism on this lol. The AU was never supposed to be migueli centric, but it makes him extra jealous of Robby. Like, if the guy you like suddenly start sneaking around with someone you both used to talk shit about, keeping secrets, blowing off a potential girlfriend for this person, and now they suddenly seems to get along a bit too well? Yeah he thinks they have something going on. Which sucks for him, cause it's one thing if Miguel can't like him back because he's straight, if he's actually into guys as well? Ouch. It's a total misreading of the situation, but Hawk isn't going to jump to time travelling buddies as the first answer :/ There's a lot of hurt feelings here, and his go to coping mechanism is ofc anger and overreactions. Miguel is so used to Hawk listening to him (especially in his champ era) he didn't ever count on him doing the exact opposite in order to spite him. Cause he kinda...took Hawk for granted I guess 😔
While I made a joke about Hawk hitting on Tory (because she never got with Miguel there's nothing stopping him from doing that) I never planned on them getting together. They would go on one date maximum, Tory would realise they're way better as friends because they would've had a toxic fucking dynamic, and break it off. Which also makes Hawk spiral, but this ain't about him. Tory hangs with Aisha more because she's not with Miguel, and they have their own theories on what's going on with Miguel (and hawk tbh). I think they're the ones who accidentally starts this whole "Miguel and Robby might be...👀👀👀👀" Thing. They also realise what Hawk's deal is.
Sam v. Tory is waaaay more focused on Aisha, as it always should've been imo. I don't think their rivalry gets as bloody, and I think all three can learn some important lessons way faster. Also Aisha never disappears, because there's no school fight.
The adults are the biggest challenge, because neither Miguel nor Robby knows what the hell they were up to most of the time, and they're the ones who creates the mess. Miguel is from the end of s4, so from his perspective his relationship with Johnny is strained, while Johnny has no clue why their dynamic feels so off now(when he finds out Miguel and Robby are friends now, he assumes it's because of his shit relationship with Robby. Which isn't far off from the truth, once Miguel and Robby start talking they actually bond quite a bit over failed fathers/father figures which in turn puts even more strain on the Johnny-Miguel dynamic)
Originally I was considering Miguel being in a similar accident in the end, but under different circumstances. I'm not sure if it would work, but there's something about doomed narratives that compels me.
At least one character will be disappointed in Robby and Miguel for not even trying to win the lottery once they find out they're from the future. Robby and Miguel say they were a bit preoccupied with stopping the karate-gang-wars. Idk which character this should be but let's be real, it's Bert.

Wally anon: brainwashed fjdbdj VERY glad you convinced me to watch cause I really would've never anticipated it being so good otherwise. 😶‍🌫️ (I feel they should start doing that more often instead of interjecting with bs cause it reallyyyy made a big difference) Get ready for all the requests for him coming soon. 🫣 (but, yup, exactly. it's soooo strange h o w much emphasis they put on her when even Randy was not forced in 1/2 nearly as much, whereas Chad, by comparison, is such. a genuinely fresh & exciting character for the franchise, yet so little is explored with him)
Yesss. He's seeing the full. array of what a size difference can offer in the moment that you're completely wrecking him & he's soooo into knowing you being shorter than him but leaving hin feeling like THAT. Oh yeah, you start getting a little forceful with it & tell him he can't touch himself unless you say so. Possibly even holding his hands down so he won't be able to. 🥴
Will be looking forward to it when you do. 🥰 And he'll just keep getting better as long as he keeps getting more roles! 🙌
It doesn't even make sense either where the complaining even comes from when you see soooo many religious people/police officers/people in power/etc. (almost always straight) being the primary ones exposed+arrested for actually. heinous shit, but oh no dummies still out here using gays as scapegoats like gimme a fuckin break. 🧐 Them arguing about who's gonna carry you while you're still passed out is so dkfhdl. Such a deeply unserious pair.
I guess we could say this scenario specifically skews toward more traditional ghostly antics for the sake of it. AUs & all that. 😉
Will do. I'll leave a list at the end of this msg. 👍 (I think if they had expanded on his character a little to support his reasoning as a possible killer, it could've worked for sure. The vision is already there, they just needed to capitalize on it.) Oh, for sure, I'm right there with you. In general, I don't think enough people discuss how attractive Justin Long was & still is (except in It's a Wonderful Knife cause his character was ugly as hell in that dfkfhd). 😭 djdkdkd the 3rd really was. awful, but he was cute in it, I absolutely agree (& I really do hate how wasted Tommy was on ST when the actor discussed how he. felt Tommy was in love with Steve the writers fr can not handle Steve in a gay relationship smh). (lollllll don't remind me @ Marvel) but yup, definitely more an excusable situation than worse offenders. 👍 I have a veryyyy different Saw ranking. 🤫
Oh damn @ half of it being cut. Did he say why or was it just budget/time constraints? (omgggg please @ her. They fr did not gaf about her character if she's got this many issues) Yupppp exactly. I followed that production for the longestttt time & UD still. delivers after all these years. 🙌 Yupyupyup. Have witnessed some of this bs & it really does not make sense for me how difficult it is to just...properly tag things. Like, if the "x reader" is not void of any gendered emphasis so anyone can envision themselves in the fic, then it doesn't fulfill the classification!
Exactly @ practicing to improve. 👍 Had no idea you made digital art, though. How long have you been at it? 😀 But yupppp, he has had a t i m e with underwear that it's just more convenient to go without it most of the time (especially if he wants to tease you). Depending on the pants/shorts, it'll be extremely. obvious when he isn't wearing anything underneath. But he has nothing to be ashamed about. 🫣
Now, Xmas horror recs: the Black Christmasses (1974-one of the best slashers of all time, no queston, but very. much a bad vibes movie so might be best to wait to watch until you're in the mood for that; 2006-silly goofy gorefest remake, iconic cast, tonally the most streamlined but makes a lot of wild swings thay can. be offputting to some; 2019-controversial for its weird handling of politics/PG-13 rating &, to me, the weakest of the 3, but not completely without merit like some people discuss it as), To All A Goodnight + Christmas Evil 1980/Silent Night, Deadly Night + Silent Night 2012/Santa's Slay/Christmas Bloody Christmas (all varying in quality, but probably the best selection if you want slashers where the killer is. Santa/is dressed as Santa), Curtains 1983 (not really "Xmas," but the winter vibes are immaculate. & it is by far one of THE best, most underrated slashers; must go in as blind as possible), the aforementioned It's A Wonderful Knife (I know several didn't like it cause it skews in a more comedic direction, but I got a lot out of it + it's superrrr gay), Gremlins (arguable on this fully. classifying as "horror," but a PG rating in the 80s got away with a lotttt more than it does now + it has very similar vibes to Krampus), & Inside 2007 (less full-blown Xmassy as much as it is a veryyyy violent movie that happens to be set around the time; does not. miss with the gore, but it is absolutey visceral). There are others, but I wanted to try to limit it cause I've already gone on long enough lolllll. And, because it's already that time for me: Merry Christmas. 🥰🎄
my phone died while writing this so if these responses seem short it’s because i had to rewrite them sksjs😅
i’m glad you liked the movie!! can’t wait for the Ben requests because I love that loser sm🫣 Yeah I never got why Mindy was so obsessed with being in a Scream franchise, and that almost every line her character has is about movies/guessing the killer. It’s worse in 6 than it is at 5, mostly because she was supposed to be a killer in 5 if i’m not mistaken, so it makes sense but it’s also notably lessened. Chad is… interesting. He feels much different between 5 and 6, and I think it hurts his character a lot. also how does the dude keep getting up after have his shit rocked several times😭 like it felt comical that we basically saw his death scene and then “he’s alive!” Like… huh
Yesss he’s gonna be losing it over someone “that tiny making him feel that good.” (he sees anyone even a centimeter shorter than him as a midget sksjsj.) It does get to the point where he’s so needy and wants release the you do have to pin his arms down and even his hips because he desperately wants friction and to cum🫣😮‍💨
He’s gonna become an acting master by the time we’ve been through… (checking my notes… let’s see how many roles we’ve come up with so far…) 5,037 times!
Exactly, I wish there was more we could do about it😪 But they can watch me fuck/get fucked by a man atp… they need some exposure therapy to make it make some sense it their heads. I feel like they’d each carry half of you somehow, bickering until you can’t take it sksjsk. Super unserious
Yesss🫣 while it wouldn’t be much of an AU since it’s the same place with relatively the same rules besides how ghosts cum, it’s still a damn good alternate universe😮‍💨
I just wanted Ryan to be the killer because it would’ve been soooo hot. (Hotter than he already is 😮‍💨) Right!! Darry was my first horror movie boy crush and still ranks up there pretty highly (with Ryan being my latest.) I haven’t seen Wonderful Knife but hopefully it’s not too bad😂 You’re so right, I hate that we never got an inkling of gay/bi Steve because he definitely isn’t straight. He literally had a fight with Tommy where they looked into each others eyes?? Lovingly?? While they fought “about a girl”!! Seems like we have some homosexuals afoot.. Jkjk, but I do find it interesting that Steve/Tommy was such a tense pairing and then Tommy literally just went to be with the “new Steve” (Billy) when he came into town. Tommy/Billy would’ve been interesting to see for that reason, befriending someone because they literally are the worst (but maybe best, to him?) parts of his ex best friend. Plus the fact they’ve canonically seen each other naked with that one shower scene… where is some Psycho for the gays😪 (kidding) Oh, do share your saw ranking🤭 I wanna knowwww
Zach didn’t say why, not that I remember at least. I think it was probably deadline issues, though. Probably wanted to have it slated for a summer release to fit the theme and had to cut stuff. It’s a shame cause UD had years and an open development history to prove it. Exactly! I’m fine with x GN and x gender neutral reader being a thing to give it more specification, but I really hate that x reader automatically defaults to being for female readers. Whereas anyone else needs to have specific clarification on who it’s for. It’s annoying,
I’ve been doing digital art for a few months now. I’m still not good at it, but it’s such a big switch from traditional to digital. I used to be a fiend for traditional art, then I got an iPad months ago for my bday and for classes for more advanced notes and all, but I figured that the opportunity was there for me to learn, so why not pick up a new skill? Oh, if it was up to him, I could see wally forgoing any clothes at all because he really has nothing to be ashamed of. But you know, other ghosts could see him, so he wears the bare minimum. (Unless we’re talking another AU👀)
OMG TYSM🥹 this is too sweet and I’ll definitely be watching some today after Christmas festivities are over. We already celebrated with dinner here on Christmas Eve, so now it’s just the presents and stuff and then I’ll be free to watch some of these in my old bedroom!! Merry Christmas btw!! Hope you get Milo under the tree wrapped with a few bows😉 jkjk

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER
Season 2
Ep 13 - Surprise
Whew, I am back. Let's go. Lol, I kinda forgot what happened in last episode .
OHHHH YESS, Drusilla is back. This should be fun!
What kind of weird dream is buffy having? Drusilla is controlling her dreams?
That angel dying was soooo bad lmao. My guy didn't even tried to act.
Oh hey shirtless angel. The show knew what we wanted.
I hate it so much when no one believes the main lead, can we at least humor them when you know that supernatural exist, like everything is possible.
This bangel kiss while it's hot, it feels like outta nowhere. Or maybe it's the way it happened, she was talking about something serious and he just started make out with me. A little more lead-up would've been nice. Its probably just me.
Oh yeah they can't have sex(don't know why, I just know it cz of spoilers).
What was the cut? It was fucking weird. We cut from buffy and Willow to Buffy and ... Willow? What was the point of that cut.
OH HEY OZZ!!!
"He's nice, i like his hands", lmao Willow , way to go!
Go tell her Buffy!! Tell willow. You're her savior.
WILLOW AND OZ ARE INTERACTING! Their interaction are so fucking top tier!
Yessss!!!!! A date!! Yesssz!
Oz and willow are so awkward and cute, I FUCKING LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!!
"I said date", lmao willow, you're adorable and my favorite.
Xander and Cordelia do nothing for me. They're funny sure but I don't ship them.
Xander and Giles are funny together.
Spike is also back!!!! I am loving this. Oh his face is burned (or something).
Drusilla has lost it but blame angel. He's responsible for everything that has happened to her.
What's in the box?
Yikes, one of her dream scenes came true.
Who's this guy following Jenny? Can we all leave her alone.
BITCH WHAT THE FUCK!!! WHO IS JENNY!!??? SHE IS WITCH!! PART OF A COVEN. YENNA(?) OF SOME PEOPLE.
UNCLE!!????
WHAT IN THE FUCK!!! JENNYYYYYY!
Wait, they(Jenny and her uncle) were talking about Drusilla. She's the one who was part of their coven.
I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!
Poor Giles though. Damn his heart is gonna be broken... Again.
Where is jenny taking Buffy? Don't trust her Buffy.
Damn, did she want her to get killed ?
LMAO, not people inside waiting and hearing her fight. You gotta love the timing.
OZ JUST FOUND OUT!!
Oz found out like immediately. Well, my guy, you're part of this now. Welcome to the madness.
Please don't gaslight Oz. Just tell him the truth.
LMAO OZ JUST ACCEPTED THE TRUTH. He's like, "that explains a lot". Seriously, though, show needs to do better with reactions after finding out that vampires or supernatural exist. Some freak out and denial would be nice.
What was that creature in that box? Was it sent by spike and Drusilla or the witch coven.
Willow: "What was it?", Oz:- "It looked like a arm", oh you my precious babies.
"oh she wouldn't ", oh she would angel, Drusilla would.
The Judge, this body is called the judge.
Damn, Drusilla just assembled a dismembered body and brought him back to life. What an icon. Lmao, this bitch is crazy and I love her.
Let angel go buffy, there's no other choice.
Awwww sad separation but get over it.
Oh so it was sent by Drusilla and jenny and her coven used this to get Angel away from buffy.
I ship angel and buffy but damn I need more of them.
Aww, angel gave her a family heirloom, a family he killed. How romantic😍
Him describing the meaning behind the heirloom was just funny considering what he did. Like damn angel, maybe don't do that.
He was gonna say I love you and the vampires came. Alright, I like this better anyway.
Like, Xander is way too damn right about how angel and buffy will never work. This will never be a thing. I mean it's sad but like, I am not that sad.
Another dream?
Sometimes bangel's scene has no affect on me. Like, there is no feels.
She assembled the fucking body!!!!! Damn, girl. What a good fucking icon.
Spike is gonna start hating Drusilla. Isn't he?
Lmao buffy, the body is assembled, you're too late.
Maybe they shouldn't have come to the party.
Lmao, the spike is too damn funny. I love him.
Ok, so who is gonna save them? Nvm, they did it on their own.
They are gonna have sex, aren't they?
Damn, the sexual tension. This scene is damn. The chemistry 🔥🔥🔥
Damn, the I love you's dropped. Again, damn this scene.
So they did have sex and he's dying now. Damn buffy and her poisonous pussy.
THAT'S WHERE YOU END IT??
Alright, I love this episode. This was freaking Good. This was more on the slow side but it fit perfectly with the plot. Like we knew about everything but we were still invested. You need to know your stuff for that. So great job to the creaters and writers.
Anyway, on the plot, damn that justice guy was so crazy and so fucking good of plot. It was insane and I loved it. I mean I definitely didn't see this coming. Assembling a dismembered body, Damn! I am loving this and can't wait for the next episode (great thing I don't have to).
Now, I don't feel bad for angel whenever drusilla does something to him or plot against him, I am sorry but the angel deserves it. In their case I'll always be team drusilla. Drusilla has suffered way too fucking much. She deserves revenge on him, I don't care what anyone thinks. The only person I feel about is buffy, she is suffering for his actions.
We had oz and willow in this episode and fucking finally. I love them so much and their interactions are just chef's kiss 🤌. What a icons. I love them, I love their innocence, I love their Interactions, I love their chemistry. I love absolutely everything about them.
Also, we had a lot angel and buffy which probably was most we have had them. A lot angst, heartbreak, love, confessions, anger, sadness and they did it perfectly. The crazy in love how I would describe them in this episode. There were some scenes that fell flat for me while there were some that were 🔥🔥🔥. Especially the last scene, what a fucking great scene. Everything about that scene was perfection. The hopeless, madly in love, the love, the tension, the craziness, the angst, the fear, that scene had everything and you can feel it. You can feel all the emotions. It was that great. Damn great job actors.
Also, the cliffhanger, I guess it's time to watch another episode.
That's it for now, see ya in the next one. Cheers🥂

so...about the amphibia finale
it's really a mixed bag when it comes to the fandom's opinion. some people really love it, some people really hate it, some people think it's just mid. if i had to rate it, i would give it around a 6.5/10.
spoilers below
let's start with some things i really liked. the animation in this episode was absolutely stellar! the animation crew really did a great job with this one. there was plenty of smooth and complex motions and they were executed very, very well. so glad they got disney to let them have a canon wlw couple AND make sasha canonically bisexual. we are all well aware of how disney feels about lgbtq+ characters and themes in their media so im glad they let the gay stay in the show, however small of an appearance they are.
the first act was, to put it bluntly, super fucking rushed. there was almost no build up to the moon, figuring out a solution, the girls getting their powers... it really felt like they had to rush it all so they could get to the action scene. i'm going to be honest, the episode would have benefited from an extra 10 minutes in the first act to really build up the excitement.
speaking of the action, what we got was really really fun! the girls's powers being so visually imbued with their individual personality was great! i was laughing and cheering the whole fight. i really do think there could've been a little more back and forth with the fight.  i know there's time constraints and all that but still.
anne and the cosmic domino god bit was...weird. i can't be the only one to think that plot point was so out of left field, right? the entire time that part was happening, i felt so confused. it would've worked if there were some background elements or small little foreshadowing earlier in the show. even if some drawings of this entity just showed up in a couple background details and someone mentioned it offhandedly once, then it would've worked soooo much better. i think the idea of anne being the next cosmic ruler is a really good one! i really do. i just think it could have been executed a little bit better.
the goodbyes really got me. i was sobbing. we all knew we would.
i loved how they stuck to the girls never coming back to amphibia again. i was so worried they would do some cop out shit like letting them keep the powers or music box so they could go back whenever they wanted. they could've but they didn't and i deeply respect the crew for that.
the flash forward was something i didn't expect to happen but i am so glad it did. i think knowing what everyone is up to ten years in the future gave a sense of closure that everything really did turn out okay after all. there was fun bits but also some really heartwarming parts. a feast of emotion, if you will. the girls's lives ten years later is what i expected too.
i knew they wouldn't be as close as they were in the show. some people are upset because after they said their friendship was stronger than ever they should've stayed close. i don't think that was really the best move though. i have friends i used to be so close with back in the day and we grew apart on good terms though! we still watch each other's lives from a distance while still appreciating what they meant to us and what we went through together. it's a natural thing that happens. i’m so glad this show about friendships and change really nailed that in that it's something that happens to even the strongest friendships.
really the main issues with this finale was the pacing and a couple of plot points that could've been touched on previously. the crew did a pretty decent job with what they had and i give them all the kudos!

After expenses, I don't understand how book tours are bang for buck for publishers. Even if you sell a bunch of copies to the people who come to see you, aren't they usually fans who would've most likely bought your book anyway?
LOL I mean yeah - I don't think they ARE usually a huge bang for buck for publishers. That's why they don't schedule them very often.
And usually, if there IS a book tour, it's a LOT of events consolidated into this small space of time that might include some school visits, bookseller/librarian meet-and-greet kind of things, media, in addition to bookstore events in multiple cities, so it's not JUST about the books sold at the evening signing event -- It's also about generating excitement/interest/buzz, having face-time with 'big mouths' in the community and readers, general goodwill, AND having a bulk of sales in multiple cities during launch week, so the book can potentially hit the NYT list.
But certainly, yes, for the most part, I haven't seen the numbers on this but I'd wager that most book tours don't pay for themselves in straight-up book sales unless it's an author who is selling out auditoriums and every seat comes with book-as-ticket. But they might ULTIMATELY pay for themselves in terms of just generally getting the word out and long-term interest.
I have told this story many times, but I always think about the woman who did an event at my bookstore once, years and years ago. She was a cookbook author, and she came armed with delicious treats from the book. Unfortunately -- it was the storm of the century that day, so bad the back door of the bookstore BLEW OFF. *AND* the Giants, our home team, were in the playoffs or something. Needless to say, nobody showed up to the event except the booksellers. She was soooo super nice and fun and delightful about it -- she signed a pile of books and was cheerful and lovely and schmoozed with the booksellers. We sold zero books at the event.
The booksellers had been so charmed by the author, though, that the book then became a bestseller at our store. For YEARS. Many of those booksellers went on to work at other stores, and the book became bestseller at THOSE stores throughout the region. And the author has had a very nice run of success with many books since then. I'm not saying it's all because of that one weird event that sold no books -- but I have to think that sure didn't HURT.
Meeting people and making connections in real life can have ripple effects far beyond the $17.99 book sale, is what I'm saying.

Day 2! Upped 1.1 to 1.5 mph which is absolutely null but I didnt want to overdo it because I have a habit of doing that sort of thing. Saw the Greek god again, he appeared to do pull ups right in front of me eee, I really think he might be from Greece...Mel said theres way hotter but our tastes seem to differ pretty vastly except for Gerry. Eh she agreed Sam V and Ren are "cute and alright but not my type" so I guess Imma give her the benefit of the doubt. Still a lil mad she said that about Barry tho. He called himself a model and a legend on hot ones, scoffing at the title of actor..I agree when he said he doesn't seem like one of them. Probably cause he's an Irish wolf god or something. Mel had the audacity to say something shitty about his eyes! Oh I wanted to say something mean about Benson soooo bad, I didnt, I should've called her a filthy casual that would've hit.
But! I am not being empathetic enough. (If only there was a Naturo like individual to help me.) There is prob a lil envy behind her support. Even though I was helping her dream big looking at Gerrys studio home combo and having other combos discussed. After I explained to her what kickstarter and patreon was, fuck i gotta keep her young is 10 years really that much of a difference??? she expressed she wants to do something, but shes like i dunno all I have is crystals. Why didn't I fucking ask her to film my shit? Why would I trust my ex's sis over my bestie? That bich dont know me and when I vaguely asked if she'd help me film something in time for VDAY she assumed it was for her bro. Yet she couldnt be upfront enough to say I misunderstood no, she had to ghost me and fucking gatekeep really?!?! Sorry that too many people fucking triggers me and you decided to adopt 7 fucking kids. Fuck you hoe. You and his ma shouldn't have given off fucking Lannister vibes the first time we met, weirded me tf out.
I thought of Cat because it was the obvious choice, I wanted quality, this could be my only chance. I'm gonna suggest this next weekend, get a feel for her, she might get super into it. Then maybe I can mute Ren and show her Animal Flow because rewatching things with different povs of what to focus on is fun idc.
Now that I know how Mel feels about Brits idfk how to feel about her to be real. But I also need to lose this complex feeling of I LOVE HIM WHY CANT YOU SEE WHAT I SEE that I have.
I have been trying to be civil with my mom despite the fact that she pimped me out 3 times but the ex was the only one to get some. She actually paid my crush to do yardwork I shit yall not. I'm glad he did a shitty job, I'm actually gonna give him kudos to that...and now that I think of it maybe he was where my aversion to blondes stems from.
I was telling the ex it would be soooo fun, if the closest we can get to the next Eminem also got famous for roasting a mother figure. I swear I have tried to be the bigger person, but this cunt is still turning my grandmother against me. FOR NO REASON!!! BECAUSE I WONT LIVE UNDER HER THUMB. BITCH I AM 31. GET A LIFE!!!!!
Seeing how she handles her spiders I now know if I had any doubt, that I'm only alive because my grandparents mostly raised me...to their credit I don't think they brainwashed me, I think they saw how problematic my ma and her bros turned out and reevaluated themselves.

Reviewing The Improbable Meet-Cute series
Book one - The Exception to the Rule - One typo, and a boy and girl connect by chance. Wishing each other a happy Valentine’s Day isn’t the end. In fact, it becomes a friendly annual traditionwith rules: no pics, no real names, nothing too personal. As years pass, the rules for their email “dates” are breaking, and they’re sharing more than they imagined—including the urge to ask…what if we actually met?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐... Without question! 🥰 Soooo cute! Sweet little love story that had me smiling the whole way through! The first half is written in an email format spanning 10 years which I actually really liked. Only (I think) 24 chapters, 80+ pages long, but you really get to know the mcs and fall in love with their love story! I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a short and sweet read for Valentine's day! Definitely my favorite in the series! Plus the mmc, Callum, is 🥴😘👌
Book two - Worst Wingman Ever - Holly is dealing with the impending death of her grandmother and still reeling from a bad breakup. One bright spot: a Valentine’s Day card on Holly’s windshield—even if it wasn’t meant for her. An amusing mistake soon turns into a lovely exchange of anonymous notes, little acts of kindness, and a growing affection between two strangers. What happens when one of them has to say goodbye?
⭐⭐⭐⭐... Also very cute and fun! Again getting a good look into the mcs lives to get to know them separately, but wasnt revolved around them together as much. In fact they only interacted face to face twice the whole time, I would've liked more interaction so they could feel more right for each other by the end. Good story non the less!
Book three - Rosie and the Dreamboat - Rosie Whittaker and her sister are up for some Galentine’s pampering at a day spa. Getting locked inside a flotation tank is so Rosie. Enter a firefighter hero determined to pry this luckless pearl out of her high-tech shell. All Rosie has to go on is a dreamy voice and a flirty sense of humor. Remain calm, Rosie. This could be what you’ve been waiting for. Is this the man she’s waited for her whole life.
⭐⭐⭐⭐... This one is a hit or miss, but I personally loved it! A lot of people said it was too unrealistic, like Rosie (who supposably has ptsd) being so calm in her situation, being perfectly fine afterwards and not sueing the spa. Those things didn't bother me as much because after all... it is improbable love stories. It had really good and funny banter between the mcs, although very cringy at times. Overall I really enjoyed this one too! And for me Leo is also 🥴🥰👌
Book four - Drop, Cover, and Hold On - This Valentine’s Day, Daisy Murray has her heart set on binge-watching rom-coms. Instead, an earthquake traps her inside a bakery with its impossibly rude and insufferably handsome owner and head baker. They already have a history: she’s always smiled, he’s always scowled. Where better to finally get to know each other than amid the disaster? Then again, they have no choice. Besides, it could have its sweet, undeniable, and unpredictable perks.
⭐... Really disappointing. Boring, skipped though paragraphs that just thoroughly described a pastry or fmc getting texts from family and friends. The mcs had no connection with each other or the reader. They had a weird dynamic and just blah dialogue. They really didn't show any interest in each other until the end when they suddenly really wanted to have s*x. It was just weird, boring, and had nothing romantic about it... and I can't believe I didn't leave half way through.
Book five - With Any Luck - Audrey Love is cursed to be the person before you find your soulmate, the girl you dump for your true love. So when her best friend disappears hours before his Valentine’s Day wedding, Audrey fears that she did the unthinkable and kissed him at last night’s bachelor party. With help from the best man, she retraces her steps to find the missing groom and, with any luck, a true love of her own.
⭐⭐... This one was eh. The story had potential but it wasn't executed very well. Reading two disappointing stories back to back... I basically forced myself to finish this one, telling myself maybe the ending will be good... It wasn't. One brief surprise s*x scene with moderate detail was the most exciting part of the whole story, but I didn't enjoy it anyway since I wasn't enjoying the story. Disappointing to say the least.
Book six - Royal Valentine - Did not read. Literally, I was so disappointed with the last two that I didn't even read the last book. Didn't want to waste my time if it wasn't going to be good.
The first one is definitely the best and the one I would most likely read again. The second and third are still good, the third being my favorite of the two. The last ones.... 😶‍🌫️
Also these are all written by different authors but two of them mentioned 90s Brendan Fraser to describe the guys... Which I found humorous but also kinda lazy writing ???

(I sent this yesterday after my first ask but I don't think you got it, my wifi was bad.) No I get it, I agree that just because actors speak positively or lightheartedly about it, doesn't mean byler is endgame / Will gets a perfect happy ending. I know everyone always says "Don't compare them to other shows/ships" but. It really truly would not be the first time something like this happened and I would be extremely disappointed but not that surprised. Imo, giving a tragic character a tragic (or just meh) ending is bad, but the duffers might think it's peak television. Or maybe they are the kind of people who think Will not getting the guy is "just realistic". And actors could just say what they're told to, what fits the current vibe or whatever. Idk. I won't know until I have seen s5 myself. Byler and happy Will make narrative sense to me but that doesn't really mean much. I'm v curious about all your predictions now, what do you think is most likely gonna happen to everyone?
I honestly can't be certain about anything, tbh I try not to think too much abt S5 bc if I do I'll set expectations for myself that'll never end up happening lmao but if I'm talking in a positive the best I can see realistically go down is some sort of weird ambiguous gay ending? think something like Sam and Frodo.. in a more negative way I feel like all the events of these season do matter whether we like them or not, the lie abt the painting is going to be revealed and just like will said at rinkomania when mike finds out abt it he's gonna be mad and they'll def argue (the only good thing I can hope out of this is will getting the last word in an argument for once lol) like.. I'm not sure how big of a storyline this will be, I can definitely see vecna trying to use this all for his advantage to try to get will on his side, and honestly? If he's in a bad state emotionally I can see him being persuaded, ''my life started the day we find you in the woods'' remember? Vecna is definitely bringing that back lmao
I feel like this whole season was just building up ammunition to try to get will to break or snap or something next season(and I'm soooo not looking forward to seeing this tbh this season was already enough angst to last me a lifetime) but like despite all of this, Im like 100% that henry and will are meant to be character foils of each other, so whatever happens I think will end up going against him bc at the end of the day o don't think the duffers spent 4 seasons showing how selfless and kind will is to just end up straight up turning him into a villain, also how homophobic that would be....
Also m*leven side note I have no idea what's in store for them, idk how a love confession led by a lie is meant to be a good thing for them (and not any lie btw, wills feelings disguised as elevens) in my head this is something that should doom the entire relationship + the fact that max died during the monologue (just like Nancy and barb) but in reality the only thing this will do is just something to set up some conflict for them for the season just so they have something to argue about before they end up getting back together towards the end of the season like they always do... there's also the weird looming idea of marriage that makes my skin crawl but as much as I hate it I feel like it might be an actual possibility 😐 like I'm soooo serious if this happens I'm not watching S5 at all
There's more stuff that I think that might happen in s5 especially with all the time references they have been making throughout the show but if I get into that this answer will be 500 pages long so I'll also expect to be something time related, maybe even time manipulation especially related to will, I can also see vecna try to give him the opportunity to go back so none of this would've happened and he could've been able to live a normal life but will like the angel he is would tell him no and to fuck off, but this is more leaning into a full on theory based on nothing so idk what's the likelihood of it happening lol, thanks for the ask btw!!

So I watched 10.09 recently, and it has that part where Dean tells a story about him basically being almost roofied as a teen, but somehow it ends up framed as the funny joke and yet another proof that John "did what he could", and I kind of hate this? And it's the same episode in which MoC!Dean killed guys that kidnapped and tried to rape Claire, and you'd think writers would've addressed the parallels and acknowledge that Dean could've been triggered by this situation. 1/2
2/2 But in the end, it's never addressed, and the whole situation is framed as the proof that Dean is evil now. And I'm not even sure what I am trying to say, but with that being the show's approach back in s10, I'm not surprised about the finale anymore. Guess we should've known?
That’s an excellent angle to look at the issue because the Mark of Cain arc is a clear example of how people with different experiences will see the same thing in wildly different ways. There’s this phase of season 10 where everyone is like “oh no Dean is Getting Worse” and when you look at what Dean is doing... you actually go “...good for him”.
Let’s give Caesar what belongs to Caesar. It’s not “the writers” in this case, it’s Dabb. Plenty of other writers don’t fall into this John apologism thing. Just look at how the episode before Lebanon, written by Buckner and Ross Leming, says that sometimes John would temporarily kick Dean out because he was “pissed at him” despite Dean always taking his side to mantain the peace. It almost seems like a statement to sprinkle some salt given what Dabb does in Lebanon, you know? Maybe not, but there is a tension between “John was shitty” writers and “John did his best” writers.
In hindsight, we gave Dabb too much of the benefit of the doubt. We were like, weeell, that’s supposed to be way the characters perceive the truth, which is distorted by the trauma... But now it’s obvious that he truly believed in the John-did-his-best version. He brought him back and got Mary back with him. No matter what happened to the finale, the network didn’t print those pictures of John and Mary to hang on Sam’s wall. He never took Dean’s abuse seriously and it shows.
The “anedocte” of Dean getting drugged and “saved” by John from being raped is obviously there to parallel him with Claire. Which works! It’s so weird because it’s like. You are soooo close to getting the point. Younger Dean was assaulted just like this teenage girl is assaulted and Dean saves her... but apparently John yelling at those people is a good way of dealing with the issue, while murdering child traffickers is an overraction thus bad.
That’s the problem, isn’t it? That Dean’s murder spree is framed as an overreaction. Sam is like “tell me you had to do this! tell me it was you or them!” - the answer to which (by the narrative) is obviously no, it wasn’t self defense, he just killed them because he could. He just murdered those men for no reason except he felt like being murdery. And the audience is supposed to be like “oh no! Dean is murdery for no reason except for murderiness! That’s bad!”.
But it’s a power fantasy, isn’t it? Going on a murder spree on rapists and traffickers. I bet any people who’s been violated like that has fantasized of doing the exact thing Dean does here. Killing them all.
Dean had the physical strength and skill to kill them all, why shouldn’t he kill them? (I mean, in real life I’m against private justice because I’m a fan of the state of law, but the Supernatural universe obviously works on different principles than the state of law. Again, it’s a fictional narrative that plays out as a fantasy for the audience, so.)
So what was Dabb’s intention? I’m afraid it’s the worst one. “John Winchester’s not going to win any Number One Dad awards, you know? But, you know, damn if he wasn’t there when we needed him”. What the fuck, Dabb? It’s been established since season 1 that John WASN’T there when they needed him. Which... I’m afraid... leads us to the Cas-Claire plot in the episode. Cas has fucked off with Jimmy’s body leaving Claire on her own. Parallels how John wasn’t going to win wny Number One Dad awards. But! Cas is there when Claire Really Needs Him i.e. when she’s about to be raped by older men. Parallels how John was there when Dean Really Needed Him i.e. when he was about to be raped by older men.
I think the point is to say, Cas kinda sucked because he took Claire’s dad away but hey! He’s actually a good figure for Claire because he gets there in time to prevent her from being raped. Just like (ew) John kinda sucked as a father because hunting and stuff, but hey! He’s actually a good figure for Dean because he got there in time to prevent him from being raped.
It’s pretty yucky. Literally NOBODY wanted a parallel between Cas and John. But he made one. And he made one to absolve Cas from the guilt he carried for what he did to Claire (Claire’s mother is a mother so who fucking cares about her. She’s basically a Blurry Wife(TM), she’s only a tool for Claire’s arc, Cas apparently only cares about the harm he did the child, not the wife, for some reason.) and to absolve Cas from his guilt it absolves John too. Don’t worry, being a parent is hard. You often screw up. But you can *looks at smudged writing on hand* prevent the kid from being raped by predatory adults and everything’s fine now.
It’s not really important if the child suffered hunger or whatever, the only important thing is that they don’t get raped, because that’s bad, everything else is just a little detail.
All Dabb got with that scene was to paint Sam as extremely unsympathetic because he’s no longer a child, he’s a full adult now and still thinks of that episode at the CBGB as a funny story. That’s not a good look. It almost makes you think that the writer himself saw it as a funny story. Lol teenage boy biting more than he can chew. But then why the Claire parallel? The Claire scene onviously is not supposed to be anything but horrific. I'll give Dabb the benefit of the doubt on this specific thing.
It’s weird, yes, because Dabb wrote Dark Side of the Moon where he establishes that John was a bad husband/father even before tragedy hit the family. But apparently that’s the “not going to win any Number One Dad awards” part, I suppose? I guess he intended to write John as this flawed, ~complex~ figure who was imperfect but still brave and whatever blah blah did his best blah blah. I’m all for flawed complicated characters but a horrible father is a horrible father. A rose by any other name... parental abuse is still parental abuse even if the poor guy was complicated and traumatized and did what he thought he had to do to prepare his sons for a violent world.
Also, the story frames Dean’s escapade as a teenager being stupid. “You know what he got for that? Me whining about how much he embarrassed me. Me telling him that I hated him. But then he stopped and turned around looked at me and said, Son, you don’t like me? That’s fine. It’s not my job to be liked.” “It’s my job to raise you right.” This seems straight from a novel about teenagers doing something stupid that they’re too young to realize that their parents are right to be against them doing. But this isn’t just... a parent walking into a bar to stop their child to drink alcohol. Dean literally describes feeling sick from something that was inside the alcohol.
Sure, it makes sense that he’d lash out to John because of the shame and shock. But the scene is... off. Are we supposed to see this as a typical teenage mistake? Are we supposed to read it as something as horrific as what happened to Claire, literally sold into rape? Or, worse, are we supposed to see what happened to Claire as a teenage mistake, ah silly teenager, blindly trusting shady people, no wonder you end up in a situation where you’d get raped if a father figure didn’t sweep in and save you. I hope that wasn’t the intent.
To get back to Dean’s Mark-of-Cain violence, the writers clearly didn’t intend it to come from the Darkness up to a certain point. It was supposed to an arc about your own inner darkness (consider the Charlie episode, a couple episodes later). Then they came up with the idea of The(TM) Darkness, the suppressed cosmic feminine. While it caused a bit of dissonance in the subtext, it doesn’t really change Dean’s narrative, because his inner darkness is the trauma, and his trauma is inherebtly tied to the “feminine” i.e. the parts of him that don’t fit seamlessly into the scheme of toxic masculinity values. That the violence that comes from the Mark of Cain comes from Dean himself and that’s it, or is connected to the Darkness, it doesn’t change what it means for Dean. Dean and Amara have parallel histories, the feminine principle locked away, the trauma the anger stems from.
In 10x09 we’re still in the Before The (TM) Darkness era, before the suppressed cosmic feminine. The Mark of Cain arc is still about... well, Cain. But the shift is the signal that someone looked at Dean’s arc and said... you know what? “Lucifer gave me this curse so now I’m demonic and murdery” is meh. “Toxic masculinity suppresses the feminine and it creates trauma which rage and violence comes from” is more interesting. I don’t know whose idea it was, but it was a good idea, and surely the idea came from seeing how Dean’s MoC narrative was unfolding.
Dean’s MoC narrative was unfolding in a certain way, in fact, because of a pretty simple reason. There’s a fundamental tension in Dean’s MoC arc. We want him to go murdery, but it’s also our main character, so we don’t want him to do really horrible things because he still needs to be relatable. The audience cannot hate him, so he must NOT do something entirely unforgivable. He still needs to be somewhat relatable, even when demonic or demonic-adjacent.
So he goes on a murder spree... but it’s rapists and child traffickers. He’s demon, but he kills a misogynistic dude that wanted his wife dead for cheating on him. He’s a demon, but beats up dudes that harass women. He does a slaughter, but they’re nazi. He’s off the deep end, but works a case of kidnapped and abused young women...
Speaking of which. 10x23, written by Jeremy Carver. Dean works a case where a girl was killed while dressed scantily and Dean makes some slut-shaming remarks, and we’re supposed to think “whoa Dean, that’s bad”. But later he confronts the girl’s father and what does he say?
I’m just doing my job, Mr. McKinley.
By suggesting my daughter was a slut?
I’ll admit that thought crossed my mind. Then I came here, and I smelled the deceit and the beatings and the shame that pervade this home.
You shut your face right now.
And you know what? I don’t blame Rose anymore. No wonder she put on that skank outfit and went out there looking for validation, right into the arms of the monster that killed her.
Back then the episode was super controversial and everyone hated the case because of the apparent slut-shaming but I loved it! Because it’s not about the girl. It’s about Dean. Dean doesn’t think that a girl gets killed because she dresses in a miniskirt so it’s her fault. Dean is projecting on himself and he’s not actually victim blaming the girl, he’s victim blaming himself. And when he absolves the girl by putting the blame on the father... well, subtextually he’s absolving himself by putting the blame on his father. On the deceit and the beatings and the shame that pervaded his own home. He’s textually not ready to absolve himself, of course, he summons Death to ask him to kill him later, but subtextually he’s on the right path.
Rose McKinley basically did the same mistake Dean did at the CBGB when he trusted some older people who offered him drinks and the same mistake Claire did when she trusted a man who sold her for money because he offered him a place and stability. She trusted the wrong people (in this case, vampires, which adds the whole subtext of vampires and sexuality) who took advantage of her. Except Rose had no one to save her. (Her friend, Crystal, gets rescued by Dean, even if he causes the other hunter Rudy to die in the process.)
Carver’s writing is pretty brutal. The girl made that mistake because was abused at home, so she was desperate for validation and that desperation drove her into the wrong hands. (Rose even has a brother who blames himself for bringing her sister to her future murderers, destructive sibling relationship check.) It doesn’t actually even matter if Dean guessed right about Rose’s family situation, because what matters is what it tells us about Dean. He basically relates to a dead abused girl. Actually all through the season Dean is paralleled to “skanks” “sluts” and sex workers. Obviously this happens kinda all through the show, the whole “the business is based on absent fathers” thing happened much earlier in the story, so it’s not new. But s10 draws a picture of female suffering - abuse, manipulation and death. Season 10 was difficult to go through. In hindsight, it was probably on purpose because it was supposed to be darkest hour of the feminine. Summed with some good old fashioned misogyny, but hey.
The Carver era was wonky but Carver wanted to free the feminine. (I believe that Mary’s comeback, while written by Dabb because of the showrunner shift, was planned before the showrunner shift.) We thought the Dabb era wanted the same, with Mary choosing life and Amara being independent and so on, but it evidently wasn’t the case. Not a single woman arrives at end of the story. It’s hardly ~Bucklemming or ~the network or ~covid because it starts before the very end.
I’m not saying that dead sluts are more feminist than living women, but if the women die or disappear anyway (and they did) I’d rather have an exploration of trauma than nothing. And I definitely prefer a dead slut narrative that calls out parental abuse than a narrative where women live but abuse gets the you-did-your-best treatment.
Whoops! I digressed! But feel free to ask for any clarification or send me any observation or thought.

tell me your denelope thoughts dearest!!!!!!
denelope my beloved 💕 to be totally honest they're not my number one in terms of personal shipping preference ONLY because i tend to lean more towards moreid and penemily (and because some very weird people and fetishistic interpretations of them semi-ruined the pairing for me lol), but in terms of pairings that would've actually worked really well in canon i don't think there's any way that morcia isn't at the top of that list. their foundation is just so strong and their chemistry is SO good, and i don't think anyone can deny that the connection they have is really special and important to both of them and could have EASILY transcended the platonic and crossed into romantic territory without it feeling forced or unnatural within the actual narrative of the show. like when you think about how much we actually got in canon-- the god given solace line, the ending of exit wounds, "just talk to me penelope" "okay what should i talk about" "i don't care just talk"-- like theres truly wayyyyy too much to name even BEYOND the standard flirting and sexual innuendos that are present in pretty much every episode,,,
also i know we already talked about this on the discord cj, but morcia is the only cm ship that i actually think should have been made canon on the show. like there are pairings like moreid and penemily that i think could have worked within canon and been really interesting and good if cbs wasn't homophobic and if we could actually trust them to write queer relationships properly and appropriately wskfjhdkjskj, but morcia is the one that really just feels like missed potential ig? like they built such a strong foundation for a really interesting and complex and strong relationship and i think it would've been really compelling for them to just take it that one step further.
there's also soooo much i could say about denelope and fatphobia lol (like how fatphobia was a BIG part of why denelope wasn't actually made canon and also why people choose this pairing to champion their "b-b-but purely platonic male/female friendship representation 🥺" cause lol) but it's late and i don't feel like getting into it right now LOL. also to be clear thats not to say that i don't love platonic denelope because i DO, i love their relationship in every capacity and i think even platonically denelope is a really deep and interesting relationship to explore, but i also think that no matter what individual preference people have for whether they think the dynamic between derek and penelope is purely platonic or should have become romantic, thats still an important conversation to have ykwim
i definitely have more thoughts on this but i forget what i was gonna say LOL, anyway i love denelope and i love you cj beloved thank you for sending this <33
ask me my (brutally honest) opinion about a ship!

God when you said that you read webtoons based on how good female characters are written... I felt you, because I do the same and it's soooo annoying. I mean, how hard is it to write at least ONE, DECENT female character, are we some kind of subspecies?? But honestly, even women don't know how to write good women today, have you seen True Beauty?? That's why, everytime I read a webtoon with not-so-good women, I use the "power" of my fantasy to write my own OC female character and put her inside that webtoon, and it's a shame because, for example, I really like windbreaker's plot, and most of the characters are endearing (expect Jay, too cliche honestly), but god the GIRLS, c'mon author, you can also write a morally grey female character without big boobs and ass that doesn't have a love interest, you know? But if you really want her to have a love interest, at least make her intriguing, complex, that's enough for me really. The only reason why I still read Windbreaker is for the plot, that i find interesting, and Vinny, because he's a well written character (in my opinion). If the author decided to make Vinny the protagonist instead of Jay, i think it would have been far better, but you know, YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE TROPES IF YOU WANT A GOOD STORY!!!!
Also do you know some webtoons with good plot and female characters? Some recommendations, i don't know. And how is Lookism going? Is it better, worse? It's been years since the last time I read it. Anyway, sorry for my rant and for my English, it's not my mother tongue
Rant below the cut ahoy! Also, no worries about your English, it's not even my second language lol
Honestly, these writers get let off so easily for doing the bare minimum with their female characters. I've seen people saying that male characters get objectified too and that's not a fair argument, in my opinion. Because they don't just get objectified.
Like, if they can objectify male characters while giving them a developed personality and backstory, why can't they do the same for female characters?
You cannot point out a single girl in Windbreaker who's not actively a "love interest" option or who's not interested in one of the guys, mainly Jay. The inclusion of Tarantula is especially annoying because it shows that there are female bikers but they're just extremely sexualized for no reason other than eye candy.
In reality, female athletes often have to act extra tough in their fields in fear of not being taken seriously while their male counterparts actually have more levity in their actions. The fact none of these girls gets to wear a single sports bra is also annoying, how do they expect the girls to do sports like that?
Don't even get me started about those weird angles of Noa's ass and hip while she's riding the bike.
Vinny as a protagonist would've been great compared to Jay, but both of their romances are huge sore spots for me so I'd be annoyed either way tbh. Especially since the romance between Vinny and the Tarantula girl was extremely shoe-horned. Her entire team's match was thrown because she was distracted by Vinny. I... GIRL.
The same goes can be said for Jay and Shelly. There was ZERO chemistry, Shelly never got the chance to be a person beyond her attraction to Jay. Almost every one of her interactions or actions were related to Jay, she cannot breathe without mentioning Jay's name.
Also, Windbreaker, for a sports webtoon, has an obsession with lookism when it brings zero substance to the story. The characters being attractive literally adds nothing to the overall plot but they're mentioned every other line anyway, either to highlight their main cast or to be used as comedy relief.
Also, I don't read True Beauty, it's just not to my taste, both the art style and the premise :( As for the recommendation of webtoons, I don't read a lot, actually. The aforementioned reasons are why I stayed away from it in the first place. I do enjoy Eleceed atm even if the cast is mostly male.
The artist of the webtoon also drew Girl of The Wilds which has a whole of badass female characters. I haven't checked them out but Unholy Blood and TACIT are on my to-read lists and both have a female lead in an action role.
Lookism is a huge mess right now, I would only recommend reading it if you're looking for something more mindless. It has lost much of its original intention and now focuses on underworld fighting stories. I just read for the characters at this point tbh!
