A somewhat sticky situation
Summary: While playing with Morgan, Peter falls and twisted his ankle. Trying to walk it off with a five-year-old witness isn’t exactly a good idea.
——————————————————————————
Peter knew he would eventually twist his ankle, but he expected it to be while fighting crime, not playing tag with Morgan.
And yet, Spider-Man was sprawled on the floor with a Laughing Morgan sitting next to him.
The little girl had no idea what had happened, and continued to playfully tackle Peter onto the ground. It wasn’t until she heard him hiss in pain that she came to an abrupt stop.
“Peter? W-What happened?”
“Uh, i don’t...know maybe I just- OW” he gripped onto his ankle. That didn’t feel right.
Morgan made a small gasp “oh no! don’ worry! I fix it!”
Morgan tan to a room, came back with
toilet paper, and lazily wrapped it around peters ankle. She finished the process rubbing the area gently.
“There! Are you all better now Petey?” She looked up at her brother with hopeful eyes.
“Oh wow” he grunted, forcing himself to stand, “I’m healed!”
Morgan squealed in delight as Peter picked her up in a hug.
This was fine. His healing powers would fix his ankle, right?
Right???

Tony was surprised Peter was so...quiet.
Peter was known to be especially chatty during dinner, always talking about everything that happened in his day. Now he was just eating, not leaving the sight of his plate.
Tony exchanged a worried look with Pepper, who nodded and gestured to Peter.
Oh boy.
“So Pete, how was your day?”
“Good” Peter mumbled, and began shoving more food in his mouth.
“Okay...” he shifted his gaze toward Morgan, who stared at him with a giant smile.
“Morgan! What about you, how was-“
“Daddy Peter hurt his leg!” The little girl blurted.
Peter choked on his food while Tony froze right when the fork was going to reach his mouth.
“...Oh really now?” He glared at Peter, who sunk in his chair. It was all over.
“Yeah! We were p’aying, an Peter triped! An then he fell an he crash like this!” She demonstrated, slapping her hand on the table and making un-needed sound effects, like one of a bone breaking.
Peter grew red. He could feel his dad mentor’s raised eyebrow from across the table.
“Oh! An mommy!” Morgan giggled and gestured for Pepper to come closer.
“Guess what mommy” she whispered through her giggles. “When Peter fell...”
“Yes..?”
“He said the F word!!” Morgan blurted and then howled with laughter.
Pepper gasped. “Peter!”
“An gues what! He said it so loud like this! FU-” Pepper put her hand on Morgan’s mouth, then looked toward the boy in accusation.
Peter buried his head in his hands. He wanted something, anything to swallow him up. He was even willing to dust away again
“So lemme get this straight” Tony started, still trying to process the whole situation, “you were playing with Morgan...and you broke your foot?”
“I didn’t break it...I just kinda twisted my ankle” he mumbled
“...right. Sorry, my apologies. You twisted your ankle” Tony sighed.
He pinched the bridge of his nose “You are literally all of my gray hairs, Pete”
Pepper turned to Morgan “when did this happen sweetie?” She questioned.
Morgan put a finger to her chin “ummm, like before breakfast, but I-”
Without a word, Tony launched out of his seat and left the room, dragging peter out with him.
Peter and Tony sat in silence for a long time.
The cold stare from Tony was eating away at Peter until he couldn’t take it anymore.
“Que triste” Peter mumbled in the deepest voice he could bring together.
Tony slammed his hands onto a desk. “Peter Benjamin Parker! What were you thinking?!”
“I’m sorry! I thought it would heal!”
Tony thought for a while, then he chuckled.
“How did you twist you ankle?”
Peter went red. He wasn’t expecting that question for at least another 10 minutes.
“I-um-I tripped over my shoelace and my foot hit something hard” he mumbled, looking down at his still untied shoe.
Tony suddenly burst into laughter. But the comedy was cut short when he heard the young hero’s quiet sniffles.
“Hey Hey Hey, it’s okay. I’m sorry for laughing, but you got to be more careful AND tell me when things happen”
Peter glanced at Tony before quickly looking away.
Tony sighed.
“At least you better now, right?”
“Yeah. I just reset it and it’s still a little sore, but I think it’s gonna be fi-”
Tony pulled Peter into a hug. And they shared the moment for a long time.
“Thank you, Tony”
(Yeah so I did something)
