Tumblr has been eating my goddamned messages and asks like crazy I’m about to throw a fit because I can’t believe they’ve done this ugh (also, I can actually believe they’ve done this because when does Tumblr ever work out for me?? Never, that’s when) 

Thank you for sending this! So, five things about me: 

1. Y’all probably know this already, but I’ve re-fixated on Naruto since like two weeks ago? Not to say I’m not still fixating on DC and the hellcomic that is Homestuck, but I’ve been re-watching the anime and god, honestly, I’m a soft bitch. (In this same topic: I’m a Haruno Sakura stan first and a human second)

2. I didn’t learn how to read an analog clock (is that how they’re called?? Google search says yes) until I was like???? Fifteen maybe??? O sea, okay, so, I did LEARN when I was very young but I always struggled with it and never properly learned. I still struggle with analog clocks, especially since I haven’t been wearing my wrist watch while in quarantine. 

3. Did y’all know I’m supposed to know French? Don’t quiz me on it because I’ll do badly, but in theory!!!!!! I know French (only in THEORY!) I supposedly have a B2 level and an IB certification but I don’t really know much. Madame Ceci would be disappointed of me tbh. 

4. Most of my crossovers happen because I look at two characters from different franchises and go: I like you both, I have deemed you will be friends. And then it just goes from there? It happened with DC x Marvel, it’s happening with DC x Homestuck, and it will continue to happen so as long as y’all don’t try to stop me. 

5. I’m supposed to be doing some work right now but guess who’s been ignoring that for the past two ours and a half? It’s me. I’m the irresponsible bitch. (I’m not re-signing my contract on sept. 2nd because I’m exhausted and I just want to catch a break)

1. What does a perfect day off look like to you?

I’m with friends, we have the whole day planned, there are board games, cooking nice food, hanging out in the sun, lots of talking.

2. A song that makes you think of the sea?

Music generally doesn’t work like that for me, but the first thing that came to mind with this question was Beach House.

3. Is there any dish/food you want to try, either to just eat or make yourself?

Late yesterday I went to Instagram and saw that a youtuber (Jen Campbell) took slices of sweet potato and fried them in bread crumb/egg coating (side note: is there not actually an English word for Swedish “panerad” or is my search game just whack?); anyway that seems like a genius move and I might try it out today.

4. Lakeside or oceanside?

Lakeside!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stress enough how much I love lakes (also I went swimming this week for the first time this season!).

5. Any film recommendations?

Emma (2020) is not only a fantastic adaptation of Jane Austen’s work but also an amazing comedy, without being cringy, which is something I haven’t found that often. Also it’s the film that had me realise that my fav musician Johnny Flynn is also an actor and I will never let that go.

6. Describe your home

Well I move in eight days so right now my home is a box fort. My new home will have my old flat mate, her cats, a bathtub and walking distance to my sister (who I love).

7. Do you like coffee or tea, and how do you like it?

Tea with honey and too much milk, usually black or green. My ideal tea is on a summer morning, at my parents’, where I’ve just woken up and walked out to the wild raspberry bushes, I pluck a few leaves and take them in to some boiling water, and then I still kill them with too much milk.

8. Which languages do you speak/understand?

I thought I understood English but as previously stated I’m not sure they have a word for “panerad” so now I’m not sure.

9. Describe a nice trip you’ve been on

It was early autumn 2018, me and my sister went to Malmö/Køpenhavn, there were train rides, a cool hotel, hotel breakfast, a library, bookshops, nature and just generally having a chill time.

10. How do you feel about your birthday?

Sometimes I try to make to much of it in my head but overall big fan.

10. most enjoyable swear word in your native language?

Actually I don't swear. At all. 😅

But I've ways found captain Haddock's (from Tintin) way of swearing amusing, his swedish catchphrase is "bomber och granater" which translates to "bombs and grenades" (the English catchphrase is "Blistering barnacles"). So hopefully that will suffice as an answer 😆

18. do you speak with a dialect of your native language?

I do! I'm from gnällbältet, (english 'the whine belt') it's called that because we add unnecessary vowels when we speak and it makes it sound like we are constantly whining 😆 however since I moved away from my parents I've gotten a new dialect, which is kind of a mix between primarily värmländska, västgötska och gnällbältiska. It's a mess and I can't get my original dialect back 😅 I've never heard anyone speak the same mix of dialects as I do, so I have no idea where it came from.

Also I speak with a British dialect when I speak English, which sometimes makes me stand out like a sore thumb because all of my swedish friends speak with an American accent.

20. which sport is The Sport in your country?

Football (and for all Americans who might stumble across my post, football=soccer) for sure! As soon as a ball is available people will be like "let's play football" people are always ready to shoot some balls. I'm honestly not that interested but I might join in just for the company. (I also have many friends who LOVE beach volleyball, but that's not a nationwide thing I think).

3. In your opinion, what’s your best fic?

The Blood Must Flow, a Hannibal/American Gods crossover. I don’t like rereading my own stuff, but I’m so proud of this one.

17. In your opinion, what’s your most overrated fic?

I think I mentioned Marital Dispute from my Fluffy Murder Husbands series in a different ask, but it astounds me how that one has SO many views out of that series. I don't consider it one of my best ones in that series, but I’m glad people love it!

23. What’s the nicest review you’ve ever gotten?

Anytime any of my friends leave reviews for me, I cherish the fuck out of those. They’ll leave the sweetest comment. But the best comments I’ve gotten have told me I nailed Neil Gaiman’s style, which is HIGH, high praise for me.

38. Have you ever purposefully written something you know your readers would find uncomfortable/would not enjoy? If yes, why?

Oh, yes. I love Hannibal fic, but I like it to be as upsetting as possible. I remember in A Little Bird Told Me, I pulled the old switcheroo in that fic with surprise (fake) character death. I had people upset, who changed their tune when the story actually unfolded, but I’m glad some ended up liking it. I like pushing the boundaries in what I write.

46. Do you consider yourself a diverse author?

This is a really difficult question. I am not in a minority group myself, apart from being bisexual, and so I have to be conscious of what I write and make sure to put effort into creating diverse stories. I try and do a lot of research when I write something I have no understanding of. For instance, I plan to have a deaf character in an upcoming fic and I’ve been doing research so it feels as accurate as I can make it. I’m all for taking liberties with fiction and writing what you want, but as for me personally, I try to respect a culture I take inspiration from, and be willing to admit when I get something wrong. So, do I consider myself a diverse author? I don’t know if I’m the right person to answer your question.

3 - Worst dream you ever had?

Easy! The repetitive nightmare I had about a man with scalpels between his hands chasing me through a ruined city and being about to kill me when I woke up. Had that for months, always woke up just when he stabbed me, stopped sleeping for a while.

18 - Write a three sentence horror story about a gatorade bottle.

He saw the plastic glinting in the sunlight, blessed sugary goodness in the  blinding heat. Using the last of his strength he forced his legs to work, muscles screaming as he lunged forward. His hands slipped through the gatorade bottle and it shimmered out of existence, the course sand cutting into his palms as he fell forward: nothing left.

23. What is your favorite color for a balloon? 

Unicorn shaped and coloured. If this is not available then bright green.

35. One little thing that makes you smile? 

Condensation on spiderwebs - makes them look like expensive jewellery.

49. Favorite mode of transportation? 

Probably train. Walking is awesome but it’s not really a mode, so train.

What’s the worst household chore?

IT’S THE DISHES. They never rest and they never stop. But hopefully maybe when we move in like a week we get a dishwasher!!

I’m really not big on there being certain books or movies etc that everyone “should” watch; it really depends on the person, but if I know someone likes the same kind of books as me I would tell them to read: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz 

Even if you’re a terrible baker, what’s your go-to baking choice?

I do like a good apple pie

What’s the first thing you do in the morning?

I try not to check my phone but it’s a work in progress; otherwise I might read a few pages of my current book or do some yoga (yes fight me)

Is there a story behind your name? If not, what does your name mean?

I made up a nickname for myself/together with my bff @thisverygayuniverse when I was around 14/15 yo and she started using it and then I asked other people to use it and in 2017 I legally changed my name and never looked back

Favorite song right now?

Everytime Deal Wiv It comes on the radio it instantly lifts my mood

Best compliment that you’ve ever received?

Hearing that I’m a caring friend and that I’m soft always hits home

If you could spend the day with any historical person of your choice, who would it be?

Gosh I’ve thought about this kind of question a lot of times and I honestly can’t think of anyone; the idea of interacting with known people just makes me really awkward

Are you a prisoner of planet earth?

I love her and want to take care of her as she takes care of me.

I’m going to go with words published, because I don’t even know how to find out how many words I wrote this year. But I published the nice number of 15,555!

Well, this was a doozy to figure out and I’m still not sure it’s completely accurate but - I have 20 unfinished word docs open! I’m fairly committed to getting at least six of those published. 

27. favorite fanfic author of the year

I’m going to have to say westernredcedar on AO3. Anyways, the slow pace of geologic time and Fundamentals are two of my favorite fics in the check please fandom. I’ve reread them countless times. I like their short fic, I like their long fic, I love their fic. My experience in this fandom would not be complete without them!
