After Tony returned home with third-degree burns and a fire captain for a boyfriend, be thought everything would be perfect.
Wrong.
Burn Out the Day, Burn Out the Night: An Exclusive Interview with Tony Stark
read it on AO3
summary:
Rumors of him reverting back to his old hedonistic ways have abounded in recent months, though, as Stark has not been seen in public since his appearance at a red-carpet event in June. It’s been over three months. What has Tony Stark been up to? That is the question on everyone’s lips, and I visited him to find the answers.
But I Think That You’re Wild
read it on AO3
summary:
It's been the best four months of his life.
And Tony doesn't want it to end.
But they say all good things must.
As We Dream By the Fire

But Steve loves Tony, and is wearing his dress uniform.
Things aren't so bad.
No Matter How You Try, You Can’t Burn Me
read it on AO3
summary:
“Because responding only gives the story legitimacy.”
Deep down, Tony knew that, but he doesn’t want to think rationally right now. He wants to destroy anyone and anything that says anything terrible about Steve.
Because Steve would never cheat on him.
But that didn’t mean he couldn’t leave him for someone better.
Try and Set the Night on Fire

summary:
Thor removed Jane’s garter with his teeth, and then grinning, ignored the crowd of guys waiting and launched it directly at Steve’s face.
No way in hell was Natasha going to get Tony to go for the bouquet.
Freedom’s Light Burnin’ Warm
read it on AO3
summary:
Bruce nodded. “I guess it’d be nice. It’s not like I have plans. And I won’t mind celebrating Steve’s birthday. Those firefighters know how to party.”
Tony froze. “W-what did you say?”
“Oh, Tony.” Bruce gave him a pitying look. “I guess I should leave while you try and find Steve a birthday present?”
He groaned and buried his face in one of Pepper’s stupid throw pillows. “I am the worst boyfriend in the world.”
Bruce just laughed at him.

and he looks up
by theappleppielifestyle
read it on AO3
rating: Mature
summary:
Tony says, “You jump, I jump, right,” with barely any breath left, and Steve can’t do anything but stare.
Tony touches his face, cups his cheek, runs his fingers over the back of his neck like he’s not going to get another chance, and Steve says, “Right,” and kisses him before burying his head in his neck, kissing whatever he can reach.
(Or, the steve/tony Titanic!AU with a happy ending for the Avengers.

Marks of weakness, marks of woe
by Bill_Longbow
read it on AO3
summary:
There might’ve been a time when Tony longed to be on a team. To join in the sort of easy camaraderie he now witnessed whenever the coffee on his own floor had run out. To know there was a group of people who had his six, on the battlefield and off, but he's pretty sure the Avengers aren't that group.
After the battle of New York the Avengers take up residence in the tower, but Tony tries his hardest to avoid them. They all made it clear enough they don't want anything from him other than to bankroll their outfit. And that's fine. More than fine. Absolutely perfect. If only Steve Rogers would play along and leave him the hell alone.
Because Steve doesn't know he's being pulled by fate, and that the last person Tony wants to disappoint is his soulmate. So better hide and deflect than let him get close. Right?

Someday
by S_Horne
read it on AO3
summary:
Steve didn’t need to get married. He didn’t need a piece of paper and a fancy ring as long as he had Tony by his side and in his heart. A wedding was just commercial compared to the love that he shared with his partner. That was enough for him to be satisfied; just the fact that he could call Tony his was sufficient.
Maybe if he told himself that enough times, he might start to believe it.

touch me gently, like a summer evening breeze
by quidhitch

summary:
What is this, Tony’s brain screams. There are alarm bells going off in his head, but also, like, romantic violins. It’s very confusing. He focuses on the freckle beneath Steve’s eye instead.

summary:
What matters is that Steve only hates him 99% of the time now, and the other 1% of the time they laugh together and fight side by side and they’re friends.
Tony’s used to having to wring little bits of love out of people.
He can do it.

we could be something beautiful
by S_Hylor
read it on AO3
summary:
When genius, billionaire, play boy Tony Stark very publically asks him out, Steve says yes because he doesn't want to be the man to turn down Tony Stark on national television. For the life of him he can't understand why someone like Tony Stark would want to go out with someone like him.
He's wholly unprepared for what dating Tony entails, especially the media attention.
The media, it seems, can't figure out what Tony sees in him either.

It's Only Half Past (The Point of Oblivion)
by LadyHabren (equalopportunityobsessor)
read it on AO3
summary:
"I think it's generally agreed that all of Steve's senses are powered up by the serum? He can hear people whispering on the other side of the room, probably sees a hell of a lot further, etc. But there are definite downsides. How does Steve control this side effect of the serum?"
Captain America is more than a man - he is a hero, he is an ideal, he is pure muscle held together by patriotism and moral fibre... And not even Captain America can fight it when his own brain turns against him.
