The Whole seller ... . . . As a kid from the late 90s and almost disappearing twentieth century, I grew up watching these people carrying a long stick and wrapping a plastic which is used to build a tent, in such a way that it can now house a really wide range of products. They could be seen very frequently in villages, suburbs even in the North corner of the busy Calcutta. It was a part of the para culture in bengal. After a satisfying lunch we, brothers used sit down on the stairs in front of our little garden and watch these people passing by, through the narrow lane, giving the business call.... 'horek maal dosh taka' (everything at ₹10) . While as a kid we demanded soccer ball or plastic cricket bats from our mother in a lazy afternoon, our mother used to get overwhelmed by the collection of hair bands, ear rings and other ornaments. It has these essence of joy, nostalgia from the flashback of childhood and how they were! Now in the growing age of e-marketing and malls, these people are extremely rare to be witnessed. Still I found one person beside a flower market in Howrah and suddenly it all became just like the good old days I left behind while tying knots with my age numbers. It all felt nostalgic. So I followed this person a little and relived the vibrant memory I thought I forgot like forever.
