THE SEASONS LEGACY

A mini legacy challenge that focuses on the four seasons. Each generation will have a different set of goals and requirements before the new heir takes over.

Rules:

Pick any three of the five traits offered for each generation, and one of the two aspirations. For an extra challenge, you can try and complete both aspirations.

This challenge contains a lot of gameplay from a variety of expansion, game, and stuff packs. Feel free to skip or adjust any rules if you are missing content.

Vague guidelines/suggestions:

The heir can be any gender, they don’t have to be female. They can also be any sexuality. 

Children don’t have to be genetic, they can be adopted, and you can have science babies.

Mods and custom content can be used.

Generation 1 - Spring

Spring is the season for new life and new beginnings, so what better time to start a new family legacy?!

You make the most of the weather warming and enjoy spending time outside with animals. Fresh is best and you won’t settle for anything that’s not the best quality, in all aspects of life. Your true love is out there and you won’t stop looking until you find your perfect soulmate. 

Requirements:

Date around before finding your soulmate and settling down

Generation 2 - Summer

Did someone say beach party?!

Growing up, you spent a lot of time outdoors with your family, and you loved every second of it. You’re both laid-back and the life of the party. The sea calls your name and you always make the absolute most of your summertime memories.

Requirements:

Throw weekly parties (at the beach if it’s good weather!)

Frequently have BBQs in the garden

Frequently go bowling with friends/family

Have a sun tan as often as you can 

Go camping at least twice as a young adult

Have a pool in your garden

Have swimming as a hobby

Meet your lover at the beach

Build sandcastles with your children

Gain the people person lifestyle 

Always have the volcanic activity lot challenge

Celebrate Summer Festival and go all out with decorations and festivities 

Complete the seashell and/or message in a bottle collection 

Reach the top level of any active career (e.g. actor, doctor, police etc.)

Master two of the three skills: dancing, mixology and bowling

Complete either the Beach Life or Party Animal aspiration

Colours: Yellow and Red Traits: Dance Machine, Party Animal, Loves the Outdoors, Child of the Ocean, Outgoing Aspirations: Beach Life or Party Animal

Generation 3 - Autumn/Fall

The spooky season is among us…

You’re more of a homebody than your parents and grandparents and prefer to spend time tucked up at home, reading a book by a warm fire. You’ve always been interested in the supernatural, believing them to be fictional your whole life, until discovering one day that there’s more out there than you could ever have imagined.

Requirements:

Generation Four - Winter

Life is like your own winter wonderland!

Food is another big part of your life, and you relish in spending time in the kitchen with your loved ones.

Requirements:

Have a blended family (e.g. step children, adopted, etc.) 

Bake with your partner/children every weekend

Always gift your household members a present for the holidays

Play outside whenever it’s snowy - build snowpals, make snow angels, have snowball fights etc.

Go ice skating on every first date

Always have a caged pet for your family

Have perfect relationships with all of your children - spoil them!

Decorate your house with family pictures

Gain the junk food fiend lifestyle 

Always have the gremlins lot challenge

Celebrate Winter Festival and go all out with decorations and festivities

The difference between watching a drama written 10 years ago and one airing right now is truly astonishing. I re-watched I hear your voice and whatever anyone's feelings about it or its couple, the way the writing is there to tell a story, and a big part of that is a love story and you can feel the way this writer is genuinely trying to weave a tale of two people surviving together and being there for one another and protecting each other. Now most of the time when I watch something I feel like there was a zoom meeting where they went over talking points and hashtags where they said "this is the dynamic that sells right now be sure that's how you tell your story" and that's just sad tbh.

i hear your voice is just so beautifully written it has such wonderful rewatch value it's the perfect summertime drama imo, and i feel the same way about the majority of older dramas. do you know what they let characters do? they let them exist in silence and space. they let them process things for actual screen-time. i feel like ever since the netflix overlords and other streamers and the internet in general got their hands on kdramas, they've become more monetized than ever. i mean yes there was awful PPL for a good amount of the later 2010's kdramas, but the way kdramas have just become this "hire big names, a script, and budget" and the rest just gets thrown in the air is wild to me. it's the same way with literature these days; it all exists to sell a trope and tag and promote to tiktok and whatever godawful website controls society in our time.

the dramas back then didn't have the pretty cinematography or fancy budgets but they had so much fucking HEART and SOUL. i constantly find myself rewatching them and maybe it's the nostalgia in all of us, but i just cannot help but feel like we truly went backwards in many ways. we exchanged the wide eyed kisses for makeout scenes, yes, but somewhere along the way, we lost what made kdramas special.

Update Madara Golden Age (fic)

18th September 2023

After 11 months of break from my story... I'm back😅! In reality, I never went anywhere. It wasn't intentionally a break I was just involved in other stuff in the fandom. Notably, running the Madara Squad discord with my partner in crime @margretescrimsonatelier, organising plenty of events, movie sessions, games, live reviews, creative club. Hey! I've learned a lot of new skills!

Summertime came and after the busy Uchiha event, it was the perfect timing for me to relax and go back to my own secret garden. Just for fun I wrote a little one shot between Madara and Toji Fushiguro (from the manga Jujustu Kaisen) I invite you to read it if you like the Father& Son trope! How Alphecca Got his Groove Back

Part 1: Bosom buddies

Side note: I wanted to call this Salty Summertime with my pulls, but decided against it because I'm still holding out hope to get some beef on a budget.

So we begin our event in the Kingdom of Aradisia

Rutilix is begging Alphecca to take him, but Alphecca refused as this is a journey he must go on alone: taking a vacation.

We then cut to Parallel Flight where Exio and his merry band of misfits are helping out. Melide has gained more confidence and is helping out as an operator. Huckle mentions a request specifically for our beloved MC, which Yoshiori is worries about them being an escort. Huckle reassures him that this is a special case since the requestor is a hero, and he introduces the requestor

Who to the surprise of no one is Alphecca. Taking a moment for the office to recover from being caught off guard by a king requesting for us, we also compliment him on his clothes which is admits is dressing down and quite comfy for his endeavour. Everyone else is caught off guard with the purpose of his request: to have MC be an escort on his vacation. We learn as king, he has never had a moment's rest so this is actually the first vacation he has ever taken (with the help of being forced by the minister). So he planned a sightseeing trip to a popular resort. It was agreed upon that two heroes/operators would accompany him. Huckle already took care of.

Marfik joins us via Zoom a Hero to say he would be honored to receive Alphecca's request, but unfortunately has commitments to academic conferences (I forgot the horny old man was a professor). However, not all is lost as he requested one of his colleagues from the Heroic Educators to fill in for him and sure enough, a mountain of perfect walks through Parallel Flights doors. This is Professor Obsidious, Marfik's former student, and a jovial bovine alien who went on to specialize in mineraology area of field research. When commenting on how big he is, he laughs and says a lot of people are caught off guard that he's in education. Alphecca asks if he's okay with the request which Obsidious is more than happy to accept as he has some personal interest in the resort area they are heading to. One more surprise, courtesy of Huckle is our MVP Shaft is back once again to escort us.

In my headcanon of MC being blissfully sandwiched between Alphecca and Obsidious in the back seat, Shaft tells us about the resort that consists of running water and trees. Alphecca also makes a request that we drop the honorifics and call him Alphecca for the trip. We soon arrive at the resort and being our sightseeing vacation mission

i just went on the most hashtag peak summertime walk through my local little forest where i took so many pictures of plants and flowers and then climbed a tree that leaned over the creek and IMMEDIATELY thought id never be able to climb down and also saw the nicest greyhound ever
