what is kagepro? - a quick guide
you may be seeing the word "kagepro" around a whole bunch, especially during august, but what the hell is it?
you may have heard or seen something from kagepro without realizing it! you know that vocaloid song, kagerou daze, about the kids who get hit by a truck and are stuck in a timeloop of saving each other? that's actually one of the songs from kagepro.
kagepro, short for the kagerou project, is a series created by vocaloid composer jin (also known as shizen no teki-p). it's a mixed media series that has music, manga, an anime, movie, a radio talk show, books, etc but i’ll try to keep it simple!
basic premise: people who die on 8/15 are taken to another world called the kagerou daze and if they return to the real world, they will have gained a “snake ability” that will turn their eyes red when used. a group of teens that have these abilities form a little gang but are thrown into an endless timeloop.
THE MEDIA
if you want to get into it, there’s a bunch of different ways you can do it, but do keep in mind: each form of media is NOT just a different adaptation of the story.
kagepro is a timeloop story, and each form of media is actually a different timeline (or “route”). the music videos, the anime, the manga, the books - each one is only a piece of the whole story. that’s why many people may have seen the anime, mekakucity actors, and gotten super confused because the anime is actually one of the last routes haha.
but the order of media that has been generally agreed upon to be the most coherent is music videos -> manga -> light novels -> anime
a lot of kagepro media, esp the light novels and manga, are hard to find since they’re almost entirely out of print, but there’s translations or e-book versions of them available, or if you skip them there’s summaries that people have made. you can also ask me if you want :]
music videos
i’ve actually made a couple playlists for the songs! one is in release order and the other is in story chronological order (mostly).
release order: - i tried to get all the original ia/miku versions of the songs with the original pv if there was one - a couple might be a little out of order since some songs came out together in the same album
this is the order that fans got the music, so if you want to try to figure things out and put things together the way we did you can go with this order!
chronological order: - tried to grab some english covers where i could, but if you don’t like eng covers there are plenty of noneng covers or you can use the videos from the other playlist. there's plenty of really great covers out there! - exceptions to the “chronological”: children record acts as the cover/opening song for the series and summertime record is the ending song for the series - some songs aren’t in here bc they’re not part of the music route (they’re mostly from the newer albums and are kinda like ‘epilogue’ songs after the ending of the anime/good ending or are songs made for the anime)
THE STORY
if you don't want to go through all the media yourself, here’s a video explaining the whole story by breadbox/david toth! he also has other really great kagepro videos
youtube
[a bit of an extra] a very common misconception about the story/mechanics: people do not have to die in pairs or with somebody else on 8/15 to enter the daze. i didn’t realize this myself until super recently
all in all, the kagerou project is a story about finding strength and support from the people around you, moving on to look towards the future, and overcoming trauma.
there’s definitely other people who have also made guides or summaries or videos that are much better and cover much more than i did, but i hope this was a decent introduction!
feel free to reach out and/or ask me anything! i'm sure there are also plenty of people who would be willing to help newcomers understand kagepro as well :]
happy kagerou day!

Do you really think Meghan actually wants to make and sell products? And that she wants to create a brand that has a real marketable potential?
Everything we have seen so far, right from 2O12/13, when she first hit some recognition with with suits, all she has ever wanted was to famous. And by association, be known as beautiful, desirable, intelligent and high value.
All her ventures were geared towards increasing her own social capital - the people she knew, the places she was seen at, what she wore, what she used, the activities she did as leisure, her knowledge of all things fine, elite, luxury.
All financial benefits she recieved were though her social capital. She did not undertake any activity that would add to her craft as an actor, which she apparently has a degree in. No auditions, no plays, no training workshops, no new longterm projects, no producer gigs or interests even after she had some financial security etc
Even the Tig was more like documenting an extended luxury vacation. All her focus was geared towards finding a rich guy with a luxury lifestyle, to settle down with. Her long term plans did not include acting, getting better projects or stable long-term business ventures.
And for all intents and purposes, she seems to have got what she wanted. We may side-eye her that she bagged Harry of all the rich eligible men she could find, we may even question her quality of life. But, she seems to be living it up pretty good.
She is miles from where she was. Harry is bringing in all the money and even if they go broke, that is never make money from their ventures, Harry's BRF connection is always the backup plan. At least financially.
She gets to live is a huge place, she is back in LA. She only ever wears designer wear. Everything she does is scrutinized and talked about, good or bad. She gets entry into places and circles she could never have imagined herself in.
Al she wants is be in special shows or docuntaries where she is the centre of attention. So she will never do a show about a charity or something. The money will keep coming in.
And a divorce settlement is always a viable option. Plus Harry is the one who has made a fool of himself infront of everyone that cared about him.
So, I don't think she cares about what products she seels, whether they could have long term money making potential etc.
She is living her dream life. And the past 7 years have only fuelled her entitlement.
So, I don't think she cares if Roop fails. Or the products are stupid.
Meghan wants to be so fabulously filthy rich and famous she never has to work again in her life. She thinks she is literally just one idea away from having it all, and we know that about her because the second she realizes it's not working, she bails.
Just look at her track record:

Louis Tomlinson rolled through Texas this past week on his Faith in the Future World Tour. The Irving, Texas show marked the middle of his North American run, where he has spent his summer playing at sold-out venues across the US and Canada.
The venue was packed as fans braved the heat to spend the night singing along to every song in his jam-packed 22-song, 90-minute set. Tomlinson made his main stage entrance with “The Greatest”, a song penned with his fanbase in mind. The song also opens his latest record, Faith in the Future, which climbed the charts to #1 in the UK after its release in November.
While the set focused on tracks from Tomlinson’s newest album, (“Written All over Your Face”, “Saturdays”, “Face the Music” and “Bigger Than Me” among them) he also gave a nod to his debut album Walls (singing “Kill My Mind”, “Walls”, “We Made It”) and even included a few throwbacks from his earlier days as a member of One Direction, which he re-worked to showcase his own rock genre twist. He also thrilled the crowd with his cover of the Arctic Monkey’s ‘505″, and a rock revisit of his 2017 “Back to You” which originally featured Bebe Rexha.
It was clear that Tomlinson was in his element as the night rolled on. He worked the stage effortlessly and delivered vocally throughout his demanding setlist, and engaged with the crowd (including a balloon-popping gender reveal for a pregnant fan in attendance). He cracked jokes, charmed the crowd, and certainly made his mark on the fans in attendance with his high-energy performance. As he so famously does, Tomlinson also took moments during the show to express his gratitude to the fans in attendance, stating, “I would not be able to do these incredible shows without all of you, so thank you, thank you, thank you.”
If you’re looking to catch an amazing summertime show, Tomlinson continues his world tour through the US until the end of July, with dates in Europe and the UK scheduled in the coming months. Stops also include his annual Away From Home Festival, which changes locations each year and is being held in Italy in August.
Tour dates and more information on Louis Tomlinson can be found at Louis-Tomlinson.com.

Hi! Ritsu's propaganda submitter here. What would you say is the best way to get into kagepro? Your propaganda made me curious^_^
OH WOW THANK YOU !!! and for the kind tags on your reblog too!!
to be entirely honest kagepro is a bit of a Mess and I'm a pretty casual (and old) fan of it, I haven't even caught up at all since like 2017-- this post (embedded below) has a really good comprehensive explanation of the situation!
basically it started as a series of plot-linked vocaloid songs, which is what I'm most familiar with! then there's also a manga (Kagerou Daze) and anime (Mekakucity Actors) and apparently novels too???
the anime (in my opinion) is basically only supplementary to the rest of it; the real heart of the series is the songs, but I read the manga online on one of those free translation websites back in the day and I definitely enjoyed that at the time as well!!
I don't usually post with links on the tumblr app so I have no idea if tumblr is embedding everything correctly, but this is Kano's character song that i mentioned in the propaganda!! It's an absolute classic and I highly recommend it! (And, due to being a classic, there's tons and tons of interesting vocal covers and such as well!)
youtube
most fanmade guides I've seen tend to consistently recommend starting with the songs and, if you do watch the anime, to do it dead last (otherwise it's deeply confusing because they don't really. like. explain anything that's happening. in the anime. basically it doesn't work very well as a standalone), but past that it's kind of a free for all.
as for what songs to start with, searching "kagepro" on YouTube turns up plenty of playlists to take your pick from!! after looking over a few of them I think this is probably the closest to my original experience (embedded below again since apparently Tumblr mobile is weird about in-text links) but ultimately kagepro is a bit more like a Jumble of Characters and Ideas than an actual chronological Plotline, especially since a lot of these songs are actually new and I don't even recognize them! (from what I've heard there is a chronological plot but there's lots of canon time-fuckery and rewinds and loops and routes and it's a whole mess.)
the really Classic songs that I personally recommend the most and consider the heart of the series, in my recommended order (sorted so songs with related characters are grouped together, with my personal favorite songs in bold), are:
Kagerou Days (Hibiya), Konoha's State of The World (Konoha), Children Record (basically the whole main cast), Ayano's Happiness Theory (Ayano, Kido&Kano&Seto), Toumei Answer (Shintaro&Ayano), Lost Time Memory (Shintaro), Kisaragi Attention (Momo), Otsukimi Recital (Momo&Hibiya), Imagination Forest (Mary), Shounen Brave (Seto, Mary), Yobanashi Deceive (Kano), Mekakushi Code (Kido), Yuukei Yesterday (Takane, Haruka), Headphone Actor (Takane), Outer Science (Saeru&Mary), Summertime Record (also the whole main cast; this is the good end I think)
after spending so much time thinking about this and typing it up I actually just went and put together a playlist in this order! especially because the titles differ slightly by translation and there's SO MANY covers that it's really hard to figure out what's the original version if you aren't already familiar with it. this is the playlist I picked the videos from if you are interested in more than just the classics, too!
SPEAKING OF COVERS !! this is a playlist of english covers for most of the really classic songs, and this is a half hour long english cover for a guitar medley of a lot of those same songs!! and this is by far my favorite cover ever for Outer Science, which i just. love how it sounds so much.
SORRY IF THIS IS ALREADY OVERWHELMING i just like to be really thorough if possible!!!! thank you for your interest and best of luck to your blorbo in the competition as well !!!!!! and absolutely feel free to reach out if there's any more questions or curiosities!!
TLDR is basically that I recommend checking out playlists of the songs and fanmade pvs, and/or the manga (under the name Kagerou Daze)! unlike the anime, the manga DOES seem somewhat understandable on its own, but I found it much more fun to read after already knowing about the characters from the songs!!

Album Review: Joni Mitchell - Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 3: The Asylum Years (1972-1975)
The six hours of music contained in Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 3: The Asylum Years (1972-1975) is the sound of Mitchell morphing from a folkie from the 1960s to a jazzer of the 1970s.
Comprising demos, studio outtakes, live recordings, alternate mixes and more, the sprawling set is one of those rare collections of ephemera that is eminently listenable straight through and is destined to remain so for decades to come.
Covering the years that produced For the Roses, Court & Spark and the Hissing of Summer Lawns, the box set presents Mitchell clowning with James Taylor in the studio on a medley of “Bony Moronie,” “Summertime Blues” and “You Never Can Tell;” singing “The Circle Game” on stage with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; laying down an early version of “You Turn Me On, I’m a Radio” backed by Neil Young and the Stray Gators; and promoting Court & Spark during a full gig March 3, 1974, backed by Tom Scott & the LA Express.
On stage, Mitchell is an alluring host, telling stories, introducing and explaining songs and laughing like someone who’s happy to be doing what she’s doing. Her between-song levity is a striking counterbalance to the heaviness of the songs themselves and showcases a side of Mitchell that only occasionally manifests in the music.
With 96 tracks in all, titles necessary repeat. But with an artist like Mitchell, that hardly matters. The well-chosen takes give listeners a fascinating sonic peek into the mind of a musical genius as she builds such songs as “Help Me,” “Dreamland,” “Raised on Robbery” and others from sketches into fully formed audio artworks. Meanwhile, the never-released-in-any-format “Like Veils Said Lorraine” is a long-lost companion to “Banquet.”
Getting through the set requires nearly a full-workday commitment. Before it’s all over, Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 3 will steal months, perhaps years, from fans.
Grade card: Joni Mitchell - Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 3: The Asylum Years (1972-1975) - A

Anderperry Week 2023, Day 7
(wild card day!!)
Carpe Diem
The bell above the door dinged as Neil walked into the bookstore. It was one of the last places in the city where he could retain his anonymity after he’d gained some fame as an actor. He loved how it was always quiet, without being silently sterile. The small coffee shop in the corner kept the store smelling like freshly-ground coffee beans and steeping tea. Neil bought a drink, letting the steam fog up his glasses while he perused the books.
He swore he saw a familiar name out of the corner of his eye. In disbelief, he picked up the book. He wasn’t mistaken. In a neat, serif font, the name “Todd Anderson” was printed right there. Neil opened the book, a poetry anthology. He read the dedication five or six times, confirming that it was undoubtedly the Todd Anderson he was thinking of. “To the Dead Poets Society,” it read.
Memories of nights crowded in a tiny cave, desk sets tossed off bridges, and promises made in youthful spirit came back to Neil. Memories of kisses in the darkness, hands interlaced beneath covers, and whispers exchanged in chilly air.
But Neil and Todd were driven apart by career, as Neil moved to Hollywood and Todd stayed in New England. Their excuses held more weight than they thought they did, and suddenly, Neil had realized that he hadn’t called Todd in more than a month.
Neil never found love again since then, almost five years ago. He gingerly placed the book back onto the display stand and quickly walked out of the bookstore, leaving his tea behind and wiping tears from the corners of his eyes.
Neil’s own face stared down at him disapprovingly from a movie poster. The balance of success and sacrifice had been wobbling out of control behind Neil’s back for so long, and it was just starting to catch up to him.
***
“Excuse me, are you Neil Perry?”
Neil sighed, and as humble as he was, he was not in the mood to greet a fan. But as he looked up, he saw a set of blue eyes that he was well-acquainted with, and blond hair that would only appear golden when the sunlight filtered through it.
“Todd?” Neil took off his baseball cap.
“Hi.”
Five years worth of silence stretched between them, and their awkward departure five years ago went unmentioned.
“It’s such a coincidence, seeing you here,” Neil said.
“I switched publishers two years ago, and now I live in LA.”
“Oh.” The silence seemed to push them further away from each other.
“I should get going,” Todd said.
“Please,” Neil said, then cleared his throat to make it sound less like a beg. “Please, have a cup of coffee with me. It’s on me.”
From that moment onwards, autumn passed by like a blur. They started quite clunkily, like an old car engine refusing to start, but after a few conversations, they were cruising down the freeway with the wind in their hair like vintage movie stars. The embers of a quieted love were fanned back to life, and the fire was roaring bigger than ever.
One evening, they booked a reservation at a fancy dinner restaurant, but upon seeing that the prices were absurd, even for Los Angeles, Neil and Todd ordered drinks and left a big tip. They chose to eat grocery store canned soup instead.
They spent their weekends in museums or movie theaters, and their nights dancing to old songs on Neil’s record player. Sometime in September, Todd moved into Neil’s apartment, and they became roommates again, except they didn’t bother with having two beds this time. Neil’s coworkers wondered why he had started bringing delicious, homemade meals instead of the same sandwich every day.
But as the temperatures dropped and the last qualities of summertime ebbed away, the days of blissful kisses and pretending to hate pumpkin spice lattes came to an end. Neil and Todd laid in bed, huddled together for warmth, as they kept putting off switching their quilt for a warmer duvet.
“Todd,” Neil said, biting back tears. “There’s something really important I need to tell you, and I’m so sorry for not telling you earlier; that was really selfish of me.”
“What is it?” Todd answered gently.
“Before I say it, I need you to know that I won’t be mad or sad if you leave me because of it.”
Todd stayed silent, as if he were afraid to make a promise.
Neil exhaled shakily, wiping away a tear that had formed. “I have this thing, I found out about it a year ago. It’s a– It’s a heart disease. An arrhythmia.”
“Neil–”
“No, Todd,” Neil sniffed. “One of the symptoms is sudden death.”
“No.”
“What do you mean? I can’t just say ‘no’ to a disease.”
“No,” Todd repeated, and they both smiled weakly at the memory that surfaced. “We’ve had five years robbed from us. We can’t afford to lose any more.”
“But what about you? Is it worth it for you to be with someone who’s going to die? I can’t do that to you, I–”
“Neil,” Todd said. “Neil. Neil.” He broke out into a light chuckle. “Neil, carpe diem.”
He smiled back bittersweetly. “Gather ye rosebuds while ye may.”

I’ll send the same one back to you. 11 for the ask game!
- @thrilling-oneway
I made a list of songs I wanted in the game ages ago so I'll pull from that (there's a lot sjbceolcjr) (in unit order as well)
Leo/Need:
Raspberry Monster (Honeyworks) - Ichika, Saki and Miku
This list was made before Summertime Record got announced so IchiSaki hadn't had a cover in ages. I still think this song is very likely, if not for L/N at least in game, since Honeyworks now has two commissions in game.
Tokyo Teddy Bear (Neru) - full unit + Rin or Ichika, Shiho and Rin
I do think TTB for Nightcord could also work as you said, but I've seen a lot of people want it for L/N as well. Honestly just IchiShiho and Rin is probably more likely.
Nobody Makes Sense (PinocchioP) - full unit
As a PinocchioP fan I believe we need more of his songs in game, and this one gives the feel of something Leo/Need would sing.
Fireflies Never Came (Harumaki Gohan) - full unit
I also believe we need more Harumaki Gohan in game (seriously why do we only have Melty Land Nightmare and Moonlight I need more Sega).
I'm Saying Farewell to that Rock-and-Roll You (TUYU) - full unit
One listen to this and I instantly went "this is a Leo/Need song". Also we need more TUYU and IchiHona killed it in "As The Morning Glory Falls".
More More Jump:
Magnet (Minato) - Airi and Shizuku
I want this to have a 3DMV as well just so ShizuAiri can do. Whatever that was again. This probably won't happen since they already have two to MinoHaru's one but still.
News 39 (Mitchie M) - full unit and Miku
MMJ needs another Mitchie M song and this one is really cute. Also imagine HaruAiri in that rap part. Thank you.
Ohedo Julia Night (Mitchie M) - Minori, Shizuku and Kaito
Kaito is here for his part and MinoShizu share Miku's lines. I'm not sure why I put Shizuku for this but I think it would be fun (and also please let MinoShizu sing together again).
Seraphim On The Ring (Mitchie M) - Minori, Airi and Miku (possibly Rin?)
Ok this is the last Mitchie M song I swear. This could probably be Minori and anyone but I think Airi works best.
Shounen Brave (Jin) - Minori, Haruka and (possibly) Miku
This is definitely the most out there choice on this list so let me explain. Shounen Brave is my favourite KagePro song and I really want it in game (this won't happen). Should it get a cover I think Minori and Haruka could fit considering the song's story and also when thinking of possible duets for this song they fit best singer wise. This song will never happen but let me imagine it will.
Vivid Bad Squad:
Wave (Niki) - full unit
In a direct contrast to the last song, I NEED this to be in game. If nothing else on this list happens I want this. I have thought about this for ages. No Vocaloid in this song it needs to be unit only. (In all seriousness I will be happy as long as all four of them get to sing it but even if it's a duet I'm fine. Just put Niki in the game).
Shun-Ran (John) - Akito, Toya and Miku
Yes Miku. Let her sing with the guys. This song is fairly popular so it's likely it'll get in and AkiToya will destroy it.
Outer Science (Jin) - An, Toya and Miku
The lack of male/female duets in this game will be my villain origin story, nevermind the fact both of them went to WxS. I know the whole thing is that Vivids and Bad Dogs are the sub units but it's sad seeing the m/f duos stuck to alt vocals and archives only since Junky Night Town shows that they can work. Also this one is a fairly popular choice among people wishing for VBS m/f duets and they're right for it.
Shama (NILFRUITS) - Kohane, Akito and possibly Luka
Luka is here because they most likely won't allow them to sing on their own. Anyways I saw this mentioned once and fell in love with the idea is it obvious I like AkiKoha.
Ochatime (33.exe) - Kohane, An and Miku
YY was adorable so I say give them more 33.exe songs. Also we better get a VBS 33.exe comm at some point.
(As a bonus, what I want the last two archives to be since I'm fairly certain they'll be AkiKoha and AnToya respectively;
AkiKoha - Donut Hole PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE this won't happen because Hachi but still or maybe p.H idk I just really want them to sing Donut Hole
AnToya - Dear Doppelganger they could do it I believe in them)
Wonderlands X Showtime
Ne Ne Ne (PinocchioP) - Nene, Rui and possibly Miku
Miku is a possible here because I don't know how they would distribute the lines amongst three people. Anyway yeah. RuiNene.
Death Should Not Have Taken Thee (Wonderful Opportunity) - Tsukasa, Emu, Rin and Len
The fact they have Adventure Log and not the other is a crime they go as a set. Also if this does happen please don't mess it up again Sega.
Positive Club vs Negative Club (Wonderful Opportunity) - Tsukasa or Emu and Nene
I would prefer Tsukasa over Emu for this but the likelihood is they'll go for EmuNene duet first. I don't mind either way but still.
Any other song from the Bad End Night series (HitoshizukuP) - full unit and Kaito and Meiko
Bad End Night is already in game but I knew a lot of people wanted WxS to get it. Mr Showtime exists now though so it's possible. Kaito and Meiko are both here because why not.
(I only have four for WxS sorry)
Nightcord at 25:00:
Lagtrain (INABAKUMORI) - full unit and Miku
As long as Kanade is singing I'm happy. But seriously why isn't INABAKUMORI in game yet?
Abnormality Dancing Girl (Guchiry) - Mafuyu, Ena and Miku
Everyone and their pet cat has been asking for Mafuyu to cover this, including me. Miku is optional here I am all for just hearing MafuEna belting it.
The Promise (Harumaki Gohan) - Kanade and Mafuyu
I want more Harumaki Gohan in game. Also this would destroy me personally. Go listen to The Promise (and also the other songs in the series).
I'm A Controversy (PinocchioP) (and Ado) - Mafuyu and Mizuki
MizuMafu is built for Ado songs I think. Also I believe Nightcord should get some more energetic songs as a treat.
(I also only have four for Nightcord sorry) (also sorry they all have Mafuyu on them).

Music asks 3 and 15!
3. A song that reminds you of summertime
this is probably gonna sound so weird lol but in my brain i associate a lot of death metal with summer (i have a whole playlist about it lmfao), but also a lot of more fun, upbeat pop-style music is summery. so.. i’ll answer with “Do • Do • N • Pa!!” by Broken by the Scream (a really fun idol pop/death metal fusion group for fans of Babymetal but also crave a heavy sound and harsh vocals):
but also a good 80% of Amaranthe’s discography. they’re referred to as “dance metal” for a reason, and “Drop Dead Cynical” was apparently big in gay clubs at a point, so:
15. A song that is a cover by another artist
i love metal covers of pop songs so much. again, i could really recommend anything by Exit Eden, since their whole gimmick is recording pop songs in a symphonic metal style, i love their version of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”:
however. this cover of “Lady Marmalade” (covering the version that itself was a cover—coverception) rewired my brain. it’s got two of my fave current vocalists rn, Adrienne Cowan (Seven Spires) and Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum):

BOOK REVIEW: THEMES FOR GREAT CITIES by Graeme Thomson (2023)
THEMES FOR GREAT CITIES is a book of brilliant things with compiler Graeme Thomson shining a terrific light on Scottish rock band SIMPLE MINDS in a NEW HISTORY.
SIMPLE MINDS were fired like a bullet onto centre-stage thanks to prime-time TV/radio and pop press coverage, more so around the time of their Live Aid appearance in 1985. Front-man Jim Kerr, sweating, dancing, arms-aloft, stepping in and out of the spotlight but always on mic with message and purpose.
This brand new red paperback out now on Little Brown features insightful interviews with Kerr, Charlie Burchill (guitarist) and other relevant others. Key players of course include top producers, John Leckie (Magazine, XTC) and Steve Lillywhite (U2, Ultravox), plus a master of graphic design, Malcolm Garrett (Duran Duran, Heaven 17).
As a teenager, the first two SIMPLE MINDS 45's I bought were 'Waterfront' (UK No.13, 1983) and 'Speed Your Love To Me' (UK No.20, 1984). I loved their heavier sound, which it seems they’d been darkly developing since their 1977 punk days, perhaps even flirting sonically with U2, who also had progressed from making lighter notes work much harder for them by the mid-80s (and then -likewise - beyond / ongoing).
That said, in 1982, the trio of UK hit singles: ‘Promised You A Miracle’ (No.13), ‘Glittering Prize’ (No.16) and ‘Someone Somewhere In Summertime’ (No.36) were all unusual sounding and that made them more wonderful compared to some other run-of-the-mill records on the charts; and for me, it’s still hard to choose between their (suggest) best album’s, New Gold Dream (1982) and Sparkle In The Rain (1984). Both inventive, and marvellously imaginative.
In 1985, I saw the Breakfast Club (film) and never forgot the part SIMPLE MINDS played in its commercial success, and in 1989 was just one of the 200,000 record-buyers who helped 'Belfast Child' to the No.1 spot (their first and only UK No.1 single. However, their albums regularly made No.1 or close to and worldwide).
Since their beginning, the band searched for a sound like nothing else around town and through perseverance and inventiveness have obviously succeeded, capturing perhaps the biggest city of all, Néapolis (1998).
THEMES FOR GREAT CITIES is produced with much love by a passionate fan, and gifted writer. As it says on the cover, "An Uncut And Hot Press Book Of The Year" and I can only endorse those and other such sentiments which sparkle in their reign.
Rating: 10/10

Hear the child
Hear the child. He is screaming at the carousel of toys above his head. See the flames crawling around outside his crib. Blue and red stains through the curtains from the fire trucks like seawater and red wine. Are there no angels bright enough to save the boy?
It is summertime. The clouds drift in the sky like sailboats in the harbour and the eucalypts stand tall and proud in the sticky heat. You are near to a run-down Queenslander. It’s roof crackles in the heat and its windows are all flung open. You see the sweat. You feel the boredom. Test cricket is playing on the television in the living room, but no one is watching. Mother is on the telephone, gossiping about the strange man from out of town that dresses weird and speaks with a funny accent. It is just past midday and the sun stinks like a gutted pig. You listen closely and you hear the baby wake and begin to cry.
Night crawls slowly in. You feel the wind pick up and rub against your skin like a warm cat. There is something cooking on the stove in the kitchen. Chicken soup maybe? You smell it meandering out of the window to mix with the scent of the bush. Lantana and wattle flowers. Mother calls you into the kitchen and fixes you dinner. You were right. Chicken and leek soup. You sit below the drifting ceiling fan, slurping chicken broth, as The Simpsons plays through the TV. You’ve seen this episode before. It’s the one where Homer wags church, falls asleep on the couch with a lit cigar and sets the house ablaze.
Your mother feeds the child with her breast. She talks to him about what a big and beautiful boy he is becoming but you’re sure he can’t understand her. He can’t talk yet. It is your job to feed the dog. You give her two cups of biscuits and fill her water bowl. She looks up at you as if to say thank you. You ruffle the hair between her ears, and you say, ‘good girl’. You move back to the living room, but the news is playing on the television, so you switch it off.
Quiet now. You brush your teeth and spit the day down the sink. Mother unwinds on the couch. Says goodnight as you walk to your room. She drops the needle on her favourite Nick Cave record. Turns the volume knob slightly. She puts a cigarette to her lips and lights the damn thing. You hate that she smokes. She sits awake for a while, maybe thinking about the month she spent in Thailand when she was in her 20s. She gets up to flip the album, grabs a beer from the fridge and lights another cigarette.
The record finishes. You hear the needle skipping across the blank space in the centre of the vinyl. Looping on itself eternally. You hear mother snoring softly through the wall in the living room. You are rummaging around under the bed. There are several porno mags stashed in a brown cardboard box beneath a selection of stuffed animals. You are masturbating now. Trying to stay quiet. Suddenly you hear a lamp fall and smash in the living room. You hear your mother yelling. You see smoke creeping in under the door. You are frightened. Mother is on the telephone and the house is glowing orange. Minutes are hours now. Your mind goes blank. You are jolted back by sirens howling up the dirt road. You push through the door, the flames licking your skin. Where is your mother? You cover your face with a t-shirt and march down the hallway towards your brother’s room. The door is ajar. You hear the child. He is screaming. There are blue and red flashes on the walls dancing with the flames. You grab the boy and rush to the front door. Bursting out into the front yard and falling down the steps towards your weeping mother. The firefighters move around your burning home.
You pass the boy to your mother. He is safe now. Mother’s breathing slows and her tears dry. She puts her arm around your shoulders and pulls you close. You shake and you watch the smoke tunnelling through the darkness, towards the yellow mouth of the moon that gapes above the blackened tree line.

Rappers Gun Down in America corporate Corruption Music Business Dead of Jamaica Reggae Artist
Tumblr media
Summertime is one of the most important parts of the year. Many families go on vacation and do a lot of outdoor activities. In the changing world we live in, we always have artists or songs that we all like, like reggae, hip hop, dancehall, and a lot more. The entertainment world has no fans without the people. The artists make no money and do any type of performance. I was observing the behavior of the new hip hop, roots reggae, and dancehall artists; in hip hop, many female rappers and R&B singers, as well as gays and black young people in America, are adopting the same sex lifestyle. music they are putting out is some good music. I also checked how long it would last for some of them. If you keep your eyes on the human race's future, you will notice that the children are becoming like the stars they listen to. You may argue that this is not the case if you read this article, so do something for me. Stop and check this generation and the population. You will notice family unity and children born. In America, most pop stars are high-light or same sex stars. I checked the record labels and the control they have is the gay nation law. It looks to me like they want everyone to be gay before you can have a high-light in today's entertainment world in America.
They are doing most of what you see them doing in the video, believe it or not. They are controlling it and they don't want anyone to outshine them. Hip Hop is turning into a blood bath war zone in the year of 2020 or 2021. It can be provided that they shoot down four hundred fifty underground stars and no one gets locked up for all the killing. I am trying to get worldwide attention to let the people know what they are supporting and what type of people are in control of the entertainment. When you are the people, this is what we do. We stand up for ourselves and get one side of the government involved in Jamaica, Queens. In New York City, where I live, people regard me as an informant, writing to one side of the Top Earth Law Government. My experience has led me to stop fighting for what is right. So many people who are doing what they love die and never get to live. The hip hop community, promoters, radio announcers, and record labels know of the many dead, but they don't mention it. I don't see anything in the new paper write about it. Some of the organizations that provide entertainment to the public are involved in the star killings, and hip hop has the most dead stars in the country. The majority of the dead are not mainstream artists; they are targets and are killed for their work. The music industry has become I kill you before you grow and the next star shines with your knowledge, which is what they used the home law for. I believe wry when a star shoots down and no one gets locked up, one side of the government covers up the killing of the mainstream artist while underground, no one goes to jail.
What many people don't know Roots reggae dancehall Hip Hop They are all part of the same large corporation. Their agenda is to rule the world under one banner. If you do anything that will outshine them, you will find yourself in some series of how-tos. They will find a way to sicken, trap, or box shoot you if you are not strong and have the mind to face this corrupt competition. The same thing is going on in Jamaican reggae, dancehall, and hip hop culture. What I see happening on the market right now is entertainment organizations maintaining one type of vibration production, songwriting stage show. Pro-farming music distribution. If you are thinking about doing big business in the entertainment world, you need to keep your eyes open and trust no one. If you are going to create a game changer, they are coming for it. You are going to die for your own creation. They did it to me. This is how I know entrepreneurs recording artists down in Jamaica, West Indies don't make it to have control over who gets put under contract. What most of them don't know is that all the music sales profit goes into someone else's pocket. The same thing goes for the Affiliate Commission. I found that the home government controls the program code. What they do is decode all the starting music accounts and social media pages.
How do I know this? They do that to my account and my online business everyday. If Google deals with entertainment or styafiya, you will see that I am trying to create a web monopoly. When I observe their behavior, they take my new way on high and light it down on the Caribbean. What makes this matter so bad is that the same law harasses me day and night. This has been going on for about fourteen years. I make a lot of complaints and nothing changes.

Notes:
There are some spoilers for Tri (mainly Ketsui); {as well as a much smaller ‘moment’ of Mimi & Sora from “Kyousei”}; a scenery spoiler from the very opening moments of “Kizuna” also included (No character is shown!), as well as scenes from DigiAdv 2020 Eps 49~50, which feature an important mid-end series (second-to-last big) battle. The 2nd to final scene included has audio left in (though I still have to add in subs); of that battle’s aftermath; {the enemy itself is not seen in this}

Notes:
This A.M.V. is currently technically incomplete; I’m aiming to see if I can add in a few finishing touches; (as well as sub-titles!) However, as this has already taken me 1 hour and 45 min or so of editing, along with another full hour of simply previewing; (And this was made during in-betweens of a large storm near my area on top of that!!); Those finishing touches may have to wait just a bit longer, so hopefully this pre-view can suffice!!

{Lyrics}
I walk home alone in this transparent city.
In the depths of these tearful eyes, my vision blurs, and I can’t see.
Within this scenery that never changes, I found something precious to me.
I don’t want to lose it, so I’ll carry it with me forever.
Ever since I met you, so many radiant and gentle words have piled up over TIME.
They’ll always be here.
I look back on today, that was full of smiles and dreams, while holding your hand.
Yeah, I fell down and cried yesterday, even if it’s embarrassing to remember…
This “LIGHT” is so small, so blurry.
Yet it SHINES so softly, so KINDLY.
IT’S my TREASURE.

Janis Joplin struts for the audience on the Woodstock stage as Snooky Flowers takes a break from the sax to sing. Photo © Elliott Landy.
One of the most anticipated acts to play at Woodstock, Janis was completely overwhelmed by the size of the audience. As a result, Janis spent most of the day backstage getting fairly ripped, and consequently was not in the best shape by the time she took the stage at 2:00 am on Sunday morning. Janis and her Kozmic cronies opened with a cover of Eddie Floyd’s “Raise Your Hand,” a suitably up-tempo stomp that showcased the new sound full-bore. Janis worked the groove hard, attempting to establish a rapport with the vast audience. A tune from her forthcoming album followed with Nick Gravenites’ “As Good As You’ve Been To This World,” after which Janis took the mood down a notch for an excellent rendition of the recent Bee Gees’ hit “To Love Somebody,” which would also be on her new album.
Taking it into familiar (to the Woodstock audience) territory for the first time in the set, Janis gave the crowd a soothing rendition of George Gershwin’s “Summertime,” which had been an FM radio staple following its release on the 1968 Big Brother album Cheap Thrills. With the crowd now in her corner, Janis cranked up the energy once again with “Try (Just A Little Bit Harder),” which would become the biggest hit off her forthcoming album. A stunning rendition of the ballad “Kozmic Blues” (again from the new album) followed and was probably the best-received of the new tunes that dominated the set.
Looking to have some fun, Janis turned the microphone over to her tenor sax man Snooky Flowers, who showed what The Kozmic Blues Band could really do in a stomping rendition of Otis Redding’s “Can’t Turn You Loose.” Snooky and Janis flailed about the stage ecstatically, with Janis seemingly happy with the proceedings at last. This paved the way for the final number of the main set, a rendition of Nick Gravenites’ heartrending “Work Me, Lord.” This featured a breakdown section near the end where Janis wailed unaccompanied into the night, giving of herself until her already-brittle voice finally gave out.
Coaxed back onto the stage by a rapturous response from the crowd, Janis closed her Woodstock performance with a pair of tunes from the Cheap Thrills album. First up was “Piece Of My Heart,” which had been Janis’ biggest hit single to date and was rearranged here into an almost unrecognizable up-tempo groove. The set closed with Janis’ classic arrangement of Big Mama Thornton’s “Ball And Chain,” during which an impassioned Pearl left everything she had on that stage with another tormented, unaccompanied climax.
Joplin’s Woodstock set with The Kozmic Blues Band wasn’t received well by some critics and fans who were expecting the more raw, psychedelic rock sound of her former group, but a close examination of their performance shows the energy, emotion, and musicality of the set. Janis Joplin was in total control of the stage and the music, and she gave everything she had that night. Perhaps because of the naysayers, or perhaps for other unknown reasons, Janis Joplin’s Woodstock set was not included in the Woodstock movie or soundtrack. The omission was corrected in later cuts of the movie and other compilations of the music, but Janis was missing from the official record of the time.

Eddie Cochran innesca i Beatles
Eddie Cochran - Twenty Flight Rock dal film "The Girl Can't Help It" (Frank Tashlin, 1956)
youtube
(fonte: documentario The Beatles Anthology)
youtube
Da "Something" a "Somethin'Else"
A Tom Petty piaceva Eddie Cochran. Tom Petty pictured with a stash of his records, including Eddie Cochran's 1975 posthumously released "The Very Best of" (fonte: Tumblr)
Tumblr media
"Somethin' Else" (1959) di Eddie Cochran è stata interpretata nel tempo da vari artisti, tra cui Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers nel 1980.
youtube
George Harrison con Tom Petty
In "I Won't Back Down" di Tom Petty, George Harrison è accreditato come acoustic guitar, backing vocals. Nell'official video (vedi sopra) compaiono sia lui alla chitarra che Ringo Starr alla batteria anche se quest'ultimo non prese parte alle registrazioni.
Tom Petty amava i Nirvana
<< Nirvana to me was the most significant thing since The Beatles >> dichiara Tom Petty in questo breve estratto video del 2001.
