oof there's so much songs battling for dominance in my head right now, but let's go with 24 hours by savatage

ravioli with a ricotta/spinach filling and lots of olive oil always does it for me 🤤

Dream trip:

my parents went to new zealand a while ago and that's definitely high on the list! also south-africa, patagonia and the very north of norway to see the northern lights 💫

Last tv show/movie:

blue eye samurai on netflix (it's great!!)

Spicy/sweet/savory?:

can't choose!! if there is a combination of all three then i'm in heaven

Last thing I googled:

pictures of patagonia and now i REALLY want to go there (and whether or not it was a country because i wasn't sure)

Relationship status:

long-term engagement and practically married.

Favorite color:

I never had a favorite color, and I had a placeholder color for whenever I got asked. Yellow, and it was a silly reason to me. I hated that color especially when I kept getting stuck with it in dance class for our costumes, but my opinion changed when a friend told me that yellow was my color because I was like sunshine to her. (I doubt that she remembers this, but it's stuck with me.) However, I like pale pink and black, but under pressure I still say yellow.

Song stuck in my head:

Killer in the Mirror - Set it Off Same as the last song I listened to.

Favorite food:

I'm not sure that I have a favorite (this will be a trend): There's a local ramen house that has a great Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen and Swedish meatballs are always a default choice for me.

Dream trip:

A dream trip for me would be to go to Japan or to travel around western Europe.

I looked up a recipe for earl grey cookies after seeing a tiktok recipe. Other than that, I was researching ways to enhance my worldbuilding for my wip: A Tale of Frost and Flames. I feel like I have several elements missing.

Love

I love roaming the docks in my free time and watch the ships come in. The people critically searching the wares on the fish markets, the bustle and noise of the merchants. It’s an entire world on its own.

Soul

My hands are around his throat in an instant and the power rises up, up towards my hands and through, pouring into the poor soul currently trapped within my grasp.

Shine

One of the waiters leads us down a few steps to a closed off section, not any less astonishing than the main area of the restaurant. Two large tables take up the entire room, set meticulously with fine cutlery, the candles’ glow mirroring their shine.

Beauty

Even though the chipped stone leaves out some of his features, his solemn and reverent gaze is still striking. I stare into his gray eyes in front of me for a while, which are captivated by a beauty below that I cannot seem to find.

about me!

hey!! welcome to my blog. i'm 28 years old and currently writing *drum roll please* my first ever fantasy young adult novel! gah! exciting, i know.

i'm happy to share some stuff about me and my current wip below:

i DEVOUR books. what started with historical fiction when i was younger is now fantasy, sci-fi, crime, romance, thriller, whathaveyou. i love the power of a good story and immersing myself in a different world.

i'm a huge music nerd. i mainly listen to (prog)rock + (symphonic/proggy) metal. think pink floyd, led zeppelin, yes -- but also muse, black sabbath, TOOL and other less well-known bands (any ayreonauts out there??) my guilty pleasure involves violently headbanging to cheesy powermetal in my car

when im not writing im usually binging films & shows (anything really -- right now i'm addicted to the office but if i had to pick a favorite movie it would definitely be lord of the rings)

i get extremely excited talking about one of my (current) obsessions. so if you share anything or -- better yet, have any recommendations you think i love... get ready for a rant ♡

To Redeem a Soldier

~ a Loya Cinder Story

‘To Redeem a Soldier’ follows 22-year old Loya Cinder, one of the few Gifted Soldiers in the land Asiri - but if you ask him, cursed is more like it. With the Soldier's Gift he can hurt and even kill with just a touch. Feared and hated by the rest of the community, he makes his living by working for the police, using his Gift to extract valuable information from important suspects. Over the years, he has learned to don a mental armor to hide from their screams.

When he is offered a dangerous job to take down the most criminal family in the town of Sina, he doesn’t hesitate to take it, hoping to redeem himself and his deeds by doing something good. But it requires for him to get close to the eccentric but charming son of the godfather: Elias Veste.

How much can he give away without revealing who he is, and without Elias seeing through the careful armor he has donned? And can he decide his own path and redeem his sins, even though he is a feared Soldier?

the only 2 sides of a writer

side 1: (without a pen or notebook for literally 3 seconds) i’m having all these thoughts and nowhere to jot ‘em down! where’s my stuff? throw me a napkin! i’ll write with my own blood if i have to!

side 2: writing? nah man, there’s chores to do ! i have to clean the house. water the plants. get rid of that wallpaper that’s been bothering me for 3 years. do a barista course! you know! stuff to do!

Fight

Learning that my brother had lost his life fighting in the war for our kingdom was the last news I wanted to hear.

Find

With trembling fingers, I explored the confines of my prison, tracing the grooves of the iron bars that held me captive. Desperation fueled my every movement, each touch a fervent search to find any semblance of salvation.

Follow

Whispers soon followed after me as I stepped forward; I sensed there must be speculation about why I'm here. However, I couldn’t bring myself to focus on them.

Fill

Worry filled my stomach like a leaden weight as we entered the castle. It was familiar and yet I was estranged from it, as if the life within those walls had always been just out of reach.
