Note
For the 5 sentence prompt, if you'd like:
The world was breaking before their very eyes.
A strangely beautiful sight - more than beautiful, with the Splintered Light of the Silmarils gleaming on every thing, and Fingolfin cared not.
Fëanor's face was a blur, and losing lines, volume, reality; Fingolfin sought out a hand to grasp, and all around them earth sunk into dust, the wind gained strange and lovely colours, the Ainur took up an unearthly singing, impossible to bear - and Fingolfin cared not.
"So it is done," Fëanor said, sounding nearly satisfied; an artisan's pleasure, at the last, at the good use of a well-made instrument, though it was his spirit that seeped from him, guttering, lighting the breaking of Arda, as much as the Jewels to which it was bound. "Next time, let us be full brothers in truth from the start."
"Next time," Fingolfin swore, half-laughing through his tears, grasping furiously at the last of him, "I am not allowing any brother of mine to splinter himself like so much glass."

What are your opinions on the reapers? I love the the lore surrounding them and the theology and mythology
And I love Thirteen
They're protector of souls
Personally I'm just a sucker for the idea of a kind and gentle Death that protects and guides you until it truly is your time to go to the point I even came up with lore for my ACNL town of all things that involves exactly that, so I like to imagine that the reapers in Obey Me work in a similar fashion
Plus we actually do get to see how Thirteen embodies exactly that. Just her expressing how much she used to dislike the human world back when death was at an all time high already shows that she's not really interested in the mere act of reaping souls or in the death of other beings. When she sees the way MC's soul sparkles for the first time in NB, she says she'll be looking forward to reaping it--once their time comes, that is
Then there are the soul candles, hidden at the very end of the Reaper's Cave, protected by various rules, and breaking any one of them results in being hit with a powerful curse. There wasn't really any reason she had to do it, it's just something she decided to implement after learning the Fountain of Knowledge functions similarly. When Lucifer is about to cursh MC's windpipe 'og lesson 16 Belphie' style, instead of jumping in and saving MC herself, she hands them the grimoire, letting MC decide for themself how they want to handle the situation. Also, if she truly is the friend Solomon referred to when talking about his childhood, then she's the one that asked him to protect humanity
So even if reapers at large aren't like this, at the very least Thirteen is essentially the embodiment of a kind and gentle Death that's rooting for you but that also won't stop you if you're stupid enough to go to a place that's literally called Mt. Imminent Death, and I think that's very sexy of her <3
Also YES, Thirteen is A QUEEN and deserves THE WORLD

Roderick Strong Primer Part I: The Portion About Personal Connection
Part I (you are here) | Part II | Part III | Part IV
[So...I've been jokingly kicking around the idea of doing a series of meta posts on Roderick Strong for a while now. As usual with me, however, one late night conversation with @scissormedaddyass later it no longer stayed a joke.
This will be split into four parts: this one, where I talk about some of my personal experiences concerning his work (and PWG, because I can never get away from that promotion when talking about my faves ever); the second, which will dive into what I know of his history; the third, which will talk about his character arc - yes, even he has one - and finally a match guide, because by God he wrestles real good.
I'm not saying this'll be the most in-depth dive into his character and career in the world (for one I'm gonna miss a lot of early ROH and most NXT things), but until someone else makes one my little offering will have to do. If even just one person comes out of reading this understanding a little better the brainrot I occasionally have for him, then I think I did okay. Content itself under the cut!]
As I am sure absolutely no one who has talked to me about professional wrestling for longer than ten minutes knows, the promotion that made the greatest impact on me in my teen years was 2014 to 2016 Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). Beginning with night one of the 2014 Battle of Los Angeles that took place on August 29, 2014, I saw most of the shows they put out for a decent stretch, getting off the train after All Star Weekend 12's second night on March 5, 2016. It was there I saw the full potential of my first favorite wrestler, Chuck Taylor; there where I was first exposed to both talented up and comers like Speedball Mike Bailey and veterans like Chris Hero; there where I first saw the work of my favorite wrestler ever, Zack Sabre Jr.
In other words, for nearly two years it was my favorite promotion; as people well know, though, even as late as the mid-2010s it was not very easy to watch, and living half a world away with no credit card to pay for exorbitant shipping meant that to keep up to date I had to get extra creative. Knowing that I definitely wasn't going to be able to attend a live event, I followed what was happening as closely to real time as I could though social media posts, forum threads, and the occasional YouTube clips or official preview. As soon as news of the DVD releases dropped on the company's Twitter, I would Google search through pages of trash results for a couple of minutes every day until I found someone who'd uploaded the actual full event in glorious 240p and immediately watch it—more often than not, I knew, it would make my day.
I'm not saying PWG was perfect (God no). In fact, back then I don't know if, had I been more active in wrestling discussion circles, there would have been a safe space for someone like me. Still, spending all that time and effort to keep up and watch it was a really important time for me as a fan. It opened my eyes to how fun and creative pro wrestling could be, especially with the freedom independent status provided; sure, oftentimes it would be dizzying or even dangerous to give that kind of power to the wrestlers, and they lacked the multiple levels of safety and security that proper contracts provided, but there was just so much sheer entertainment I got from spots and shenanigans that would have never be cleared or work with the constraints of sponsors, copyright, or other corporate concerns. Making to suck your opponent's dick in the middle of the ring? An invisible remote that magically makes everyone, including the chanting fans, act in slow-mo? "The legendary asshole of Jushin Thunder Liger"? All hilarious, all fondly remembered. There's a reason that for years my top wrestling dream was to attend a show in Reseda—a dream that'll never be realized, but the Globe Theatre is a beautiful venue that seems to actually have working AC, so that's nice!
But, as mentioned: after Zack won the PWG title, a result I spoiled for myself via Reddit thread with much screaming, I stopped watching. It wasn't that I was any less interested in it—I was very much excited about the prospect of my boy on top, actually! It was simply that, between the sites I used all getting nuked and not knowing how to torrent, I just couldn't find it anymore. So I fell out of watching PWG, then the American and British indies, then NXT and what little main brand WWE I still watched, and finally I didn't watch much wrestling at all for two years, from 2016 to 2018. I only came back, actually, when I found out where my old fave Zack ended up: this large promotion called New Japan…
But that's a ZSJ story, and (as is hopefully clear from the title of this post) this series isn't about him. Instead, let's set the scene:
On July 29, 2016, two events and about four months after the last PWG I'd been able to watch, Roderick Strong had his last indie date before going to WWE. Having watched it back, the entire sendoff is pretty elaborate: after champion Zack fends off his latest challenger, Kyle O'Reilly, in a grueling 20+ minute match, Roddy comes down to the ring and demands his rematch. What follows is a less than six minutes breakneck fuckfest with several run-ins and foreign object usage; but, of course, Roderick loses. Afterwards, inviting his friends then that night's locker room down to the ring, he makes his speech about how in 2014 (which was, of course, the year I started watching) he'd made a commitment to reinvent himself as a wrestler—a move that ended up contributing to him being signed to NXT after a 15+ year career. He's thankful for everything PWG had given him, though (especially his then-fiance, now-wife Marina Shafir); as he says to cap things off, he loves the crowd, doesn't hate them!
Honestly, I wish I watched just two more events than I actually did back then, because it might have made my path to becoming a fan of Roderick Strong way more flattering to me. Instead, I have to admit: after Zack tapped him out for the belt and Roddy slunk off to the back, and for a long time during and after my two year break…I forgot about him.
It's a bit of an awful thing to say and is, on top of that, admittedly hyperbole; I never dumped anything of him in my brain down the memory hole. What I mean is that he never really came to mind unless I thought about it really hard. Even during my lull period, when people asked me about pro wrestling I could talk about my favorite people and my favorite moments and my favorite matches, and Roderick was never really there in anything more than a passing mention. In my defense, at first it was because I was even more of a massive hipster back then than I am now, and since I knew he was in NXT I assumed that when (not if; those were more innocent days) he'd go up to the main roster and get lots of fans he wouldn't need me vocally being one of them. Sure, he was probably going to be misused and I wasn't really going to watch to find out because this was 2016 WWE, but he'd at least get that money and that fame on Raw or Smackdown. Why wouldn't he? He was fucking Roderick Strong, a fantastic wrestler and someone I didn't realize for years people thought was bland as hell. Surely he'd make it. Surely.
But slowly and steadily he began to fade from my thoughts, until it came to the point that even after I started watching prowres again from 2018 and into the pandemic I didn't talk about him at all—even when I began looking back nostalgically on my time watching PWG.
Then, completely by chance, the week I decided to get back into All Elite Wrestling—I watched for a while in 2019, but lapsed during the pandemic era; it was hard enough to watch one major wrestling company with no crowds, much less two—was the week Roddy Strong debuted there. Buoyed by other people's excitement and name recognition, I felt generically happy watching the clips. "Oh, yeah," I said to myself. "Roderick Strong. What's he been doing for the past few years?"
(Yes, I completely missed his Undisputed Era period, and was shocked at the belated news that he and everyone else in that faction never officially made it to the main roster. Yes, this also means I mostly know what happened thanks to Drea fighting the good fight with all her Era boys fics. No, I don't think I'm gonna watch his NXT run any time soon, LOL.)
After therefore deciding not to really dive into his recent past, I decided to, for the umpteenth time, think about when I first became familiar with him in that era of PWG…and something funny came about. If you're familiar with the trope called "Once More With Clarity", then that's what honest to God happened: eyes wide and memories superimposed above a shot of the aforementioned eyes at around 50% opacity, I realized that so many of my favorite moments and matches had him there the entire time. Person ZSJ won the belt from? Roddy. One of ZSJ's best matches until that point? When Roddy beat him the first time Zack challenged for the title. Speedball's real coming out party with the Reseda faithful? Them answering Roddy's open challenge at Mystery Vortex. That (in)famous, ridiculously overbooked, ridiculously memorable Guerrilla Warfare match at All Star Weekend 11? The heel aggressors was Mt. Rushmore 2.0, Roddy's faction with the Young Bucks and Adam Cole. Even outside of PWG, I ended up finding out he was involved in several other promotions I followed; I saw him several times in EVOLVE for instance, and what little Ring of Honor I watched Mr. ROH himself was, of course, there as well.
I'm probably forgetting something, but here's what I'm trying to get at: the more I combed through my good memories of pro wrestling the more I realized Roddy'd not only always been there, but that he was a key player in them, not just in matches but in the angles as a whole—and, yes, even promos, his forever dump stat. At the time it was all going on, I just…never really noticed him. And that's the story of much of his career, isn't it (at least in kayfabe)? Always considered an excellent hand, but even when he held the big belt he never seemed or felt like the most important person there.
"Okay," I then said to myself those months ago. "So he's a great wrestler. He's in all these great things I like, wrestling-wise. But who is he, really? Is there enough for me or anyone else to chew on from a character perspective?"
The fact I'm dedicating a four part series to this man, along with all the GIFsets and fanfic I've made, might spoil my answer to that. But for now, brave reader who's actually read all of this (or clever reader who's skipped to the end), stay a little in suspense for a bit if you’d like while I write part two. :')

The attire dissection, folks. (Part 1)
A friend of mine (@spiderwarden) sent an ask a while back about how Yelan would go about putting herself together in terms of attire, and I remember going 'christ', because how do you begin dissecting most outfits that look almost too maddening to explain, in an anime-style game where outfits are often ridiculous and not meant to be explained 'realistically'. But then I realized that this is miHoYo, and this is their Genshin Impact, which means that the devil will always reside in the details. And personally, I like this little devil a lot. Now, I'd always noticed a few things, but they initially seem tied into a whole bunch of illogical 'outfitting', but her outfit is really actually not illogical at all. Let me see if I can explain this coherently.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Zoomed in version here) The subject in question: the beautiful Yelan— okay, okay, I'll stop fawning, fine. Any way, I always looked at her outfit as a two-piece, a full length bodysuit of some kind (what are those called again?), with an overcoat which holds all of those blue accents in her attire. And I was never sure whether her shoes were boots and if they were, where they ended because I saw no proper cuff/top. I was so torn, I even once thought they were somehow tied into the bodysuit, because I genuinely couldn't make out the top of them! Yes, welcome to the 'illogical anime outfit thinking', but let's be honest, it's done commonly enough in that area of media. But no, the basis of her outfit is actually not that complex at all, and is rather realistic. What is complex, is the intense amount of 'personalization' of each piece , the thought that went into them and what inspired them. But that will be for for part 2.
It is technically a three-piece, a bodysuit, an overcoat and thigh high boots. To elaborate: first up, at the very base of it is a halter bodysuit that has a very low-cut back and shorts, it looks very close to something like this in shape. On top of that, as you can see rather clearly in her outfit, it is entirely see-through/mesh and is customized with fish-netting, cut-outs and various other detailing on the front (some of which rather intricate I might add, as this bodysuit may have been chosen for practical reasons, but has in that light, been fully altered to her tastes). Yelan, as per a teapot voiceline ("I'm guessing you've fallen for the rumors about me being very wealthy and having high demands for my standards of living?"), isn't someone who spends mora on things easily, but when she does for practical purposes, it's when she may splurge a bit, but it's not without reason entirely. But I digress a bit, because that's a topic for another day. Secondly, is the overcoat, this is the piece that's most easily identified by all the blues and it covers a fair bit of the bodysuit, it is also secured around the neck in a halter-design, it covers the 'outline' of her upper-chest, leaving her back bare as well, and it hangs down towards the front, ending roughly where her bodysuit does as well. And then thirdly, there's the boots, which are thigh-high and end exactly where you see the diagonal lines towards the front of her upper legs (if you look at any of the sideviews, you'll note the difference in elevation between the shaft of her boot and her leg).
What draws me most though, is the bodysuit. It's incredibly aesthetically pleasing in terms of its design, with the decision of the mesh material, along with the very specific decisions on details (ie: the fishnetting on her right side, the cut-out on its left half, the straps across her hips hiding the more intimate item of dress underneath them, and especially the separate design on the front that you'd more so find on those high-waist old-school sailor shorts with the bigger buttons at the front). The fact that it's a halter design, truly offers a more secure hold than honestly anything else would, as shoulder straps tend to slip from your shoulders (and especially being slender as she is, it becomes increasingly impossible to find something that will never slip), and strapless is absolutely not doable with all of the movement that she does. In essence, a bodysuit of this sort of design would be skintight but stretchy enough to allow for proper movement as she's really rather agile, but considering how secure of a hold it offers, it also means that (apologies for the TMI), there may not be any need for a bra, as the bodysuit would offer it, in its stead. But this also plays into practicality: the less layers, the better. I also wonder about this latter detail, because there is no sign or trace of any bra straps anywhere at all, and a halter-design bra also would be apparent somewhere. Nope, I think that darker part that you see covering her breasts is actually part of the bodysuit, and very intricately designed. I think this damn piece of clothing might be one of the most intricate parts of her outfit. I actually did find a modder that removed the 'drape' part of the overcoat that covers her abdomen, but left the upper portion of it (but you can tell from the images at the top of the post that these two 'parts' are a one piece that overlaps, due to the difference in elevation)— any way, this mod actually shows half of the frontal design of the bodysuit. Again, be aware that the part covering her chest area (the blue on one side, white on the other) is not part of the bodysuit, and instead is part of her overcoat. If she took it off, those would be gone. Now imagine the boots to be gone (which again, go up to the diagonal stripe designs at the front), and you're left with the bodysuit!
Honestly, all of this draws a magnificent image for me in my head. The sight of when she retires either in her home outside of the city, in Yanshang, or the home I headcanon that she's properly bought in Qiaoying Village (properly purchased, mind you, to help the villagers) at some point, for the night. When she takes off her boots, it would be quite casual and relaxed to see her in the bodysuit and the overcoat that covers it. And if in privacy, or around those she's more at ease around (granted, there would be nothing 'sexual' about it, she's very practical and very realistic, and there's nothing intentionally 'sexy' about it unless she intends for it to be), she'd even forego the overcoat. Yelan, walking around preparing her tea, barefoot and with her legs almost entirely bare? The epiphany of peaceful, in my head.
And a little bit of an extraordinary and beautiful sight, but that's just me... sorry, I couldn't restrain myself any longer. Hi hello, my name is Sae, and thank you for having read part 1 of my lunacy in terms of her outfit. Part 2 will focus on the actual design of the overcoat and bodysuit, and what was likely used as inspiration for her. I'm unsure whether I'll add in her hair, and accessories into that post, it'll all depend on how long it gets. But there's the intention any way.

sorry if this is weird but what i find most fascinating about astarion and mal's post game story is how sad it is? most people (me included i gotta admit lol) go for a more happily ever after post game while yours is so angsty it makes it so juicy
Oh, not weird at all! I also think that all of their problems and conflict and heartbreak add a bit of spice to their relationship. To me, the game ending marks the beginning of their journey, maybe that's why there's so much stuff happening during that time. It just felt a bit odd to slap a 'happily ever after' sticker on a relationship that's in its infancy. And it's also the same scenario with them as individuals, before the tadpole business they weren't really living, they weren't free to do what they wished, so all the possibilities when they get to make their own choices seemed ripe with potential.
And while I do talk/write mostly about their numerous problems (I personally find writing conflict, be it inner or outward, the most interesting because it drives the story), their tale is not entirely sad.
After the game events, they spend nearly a century together! And while they surely have their moments and fight and hurt each other along the way, they also make one another very very happy. For the longest time, they are the only people they have, the only people they can be vulnerable with. And while at first it feels sort of odd and uncomfortable because of their distrustful nature, eventually they find comfort in that vulnerability.
There are days when they spend hours in bed talking, holding one another, laughing. They end up going on so many adventures. They have a fake wedding, for god's sake!
And even when they do break up after that century of traveling, it's not permanent either. Even after hurting each other so deeply, they can't help but love one another. So they find their way back. Even if the puzzle pieces don't fit together perfectly anymore, they still try. They eventually go back on the road for more adventures. They bite off more than they can chew. It seems like it all ends in a tragedy. And yet, I personally don't think it's where their story ends.

What are your opinion on Lucifer and Michael i see them like brothers
Oooh, okay, good question!!
We did not get to see much of it, but back when they were both angels they had peak sibling energy since they were just midly annoying to each other (I think it was mentioned that Michael used to sneak into Luci's room at some point in the story...?) and the whole bit about Michael being "crazy about Lucifer", as Mammon so kindly put it, imo seems like a younger sibling being absolutely mesmerized with their older sibling, so I 100% agree with you about them being like brothers
That being said, it's a bit tricky to work out their exact relationship since we don't know that much about Michael. What both games did indirectly show us, however, is that he cares deeply about the people in his life. Luke mentions how he still catches him staring at the place the brothers' portraits used to hang, in NB Raphael complains about Michael worrying about Simeon and Luke since they keep forgetting to send their daily updates to the point that ends up neglecting his duties and then bombards them with all the gifts Michael had for them, and he still has a lot of keepsakes of back when Lucifer was still an angel. Which imo makes it all the more interesting that in NB Michael seems to hold a small grudge against the brothers (while still caring about them). I really hope we get to see a little more of that
Lucifer on the other hand seems fairly neutral in NB. I actually feel like he never really held any malice against Michael after the Celestial War to begin with, especially considering how he immediately thought that Michael was the one that gave MC the Ring of Light no matter which option you pick. To me it seems like he believes that Michael sent MC to the Devildom to look after them, and from Luci's perspective it would also explain why MC kept trying to help them adjust and kept inserting themself into their business
Fastforward to the og game, and their relationship seems to be in a good place again. Luke does mention that he thinks it's not fair that Michael still loves and cares for the brothers so deeply while they have moved on and don't really seem to care much about him anymore, but in regards to Lucifer that's not true imo. Like yeah, Lucifer doesn't really bring him up, but to be fair it'd also be kind of weird for him to? First of, Lucifer is the Avatar of Pride. No way he'd just publicly admit that he misses Michael or still cares about him. Also he's a demon now with a whole new set of responsibilities to deal with, and he doesn't really have any constant reminder of his time back in the Celestial Realm the same way Michael does with the missing portraits. Imagine if they were prepping for the play for the school festival and Lucifer just starts talking about Michael all of a sudden. Would be weird as hell
Plus, he does reminisce about his time as an angel whenever it makes sense for him to, and he seems very fond of his memories and usually ends up talking about Michael in some form, like that time Raphael fell asleep from drinking too much Demonus and it reminded him of Michael and the two of them drinking together
Tumblr media
Speaking of drinking Demonus--I headcanon that part of the reason Lucifer collects and enjoys Demonus so much is because it reminds him of all the times all the seraphs went drinking together
Also, Lucifer and Michael are actually still in touch. In the Devilgram 'A Job From Michael' Luke and MC tail Lucifer since Michael asked Luke to. Lucifer then later explains that Michael actually gave him some advice on how to deal with his brothers and adds that Michael was probably curious if Lucifer actually followed through, which is why he asked Luke to keep him updated
Tumblr media
So yeah, they're definitely not as close as they used to be, but all in all they seem to be on good terms again
