OK There are answers to this.

Witch and Moon are fucking SILENT, you get a whine or two and that's it. They are trying to be quiet because both of them are used to living with people and have trained themselves.

Moon lives with like 8 people who are nosy and has absolutely become a rock. Soap takes great joy in breaking her of the habit, but it's definitely very weird for him the first time they fuck and she looks like she's enjoying it but she's dead quiet. Head thrown back and lips parted but just breathy whines coming out.

Witch also lived with her family until she took over care of her current home, and sort of had to train herself not to react too much to any emotions. Magic wants to respond to her emotions, and she can't have it making a mess of her room just because she's touching herself. Plus just not wanting her family to hear her. It's a habit she carried on with even now that she lives alone. Price gets to her and uh... well it goes very well for him.

Liebling is quiet, but I think that's just how she is. I think she tried to be loud because her previous partners complained and König wouldn't stand for it. It was awful hearing her pretend, he likes her quiet. All the whimpering and whining is perfect for him, just makes it better when she begs.

"I only romance astarion I just can't relate to the other stories" really? you can't relate to gales deep self loathing? his deep love and loyalty for those he cares about? you can't relate to wylls kind heart and desire to always do good, even if it means he's miserable? can't relate to shadowheart blindly following a god, only to learn the truth and reinvent herself? you can't relate to lae'zel or karlach who were lied to and used as weapons their whole lives, but continue to push on even when they're scared? you can't relate to the overarching theme of authority vs autonomy???

it's not difficult, it's just people refusing to appreciate and explore the game to its fullest bc their manipulative sexy vampire is all they need(something astarion actually loathes being seen as btw). but ok, you can be boring and do whatever you want, but don't lie and say the other stories are bad, because they're not. it's simply a lack of media literacy and critical thinking. because to you, if a character doesn't tell you point blank that they're aware of their situation, it's bad writing. missing the entire point that victims don't always realize the situation they're in. keep in mind astarion and karlach are the only ones who got away from their abusers, which is why they tell you clearly and confidently about what happened to them, fully aware that it was abuse. whereas the others give only their tunnel visioned perspective and speak highly of their deity(not caring about themselves, wish to appease them for something in return).

don't get me wrong (seriously, if I see one person misunderstand me I'm going to lose it) astarion is a good character, but people who only like him need to stop acting like he's the only complex and well written one. stop crying when people with brains call you out for being weird about his ascended ending. the game isn't about him. at least try and show some respect to those who worked hard on the game. make an oc and try new things, i promise the fictional vampire won't care if you don't romance him one run. have a drink with shadowheart, dance with wyll, go to a restaurant w karlach, maybe then you'll calm down.

I hate when people dismiss the Phoebe thing as Scully simply having been jealous. She was his best friend first, and she did what any good friend would have

yeah it's pretty reductive, honestly. scully has been very protective of mulder since the pilot; the first 3 episodes of the show are literally her committing to him, holding a man hostage at gunpoint to find him, and cutting ties with her friends who make fun of him.

this was largely her arc in squeeze, after only having known him for a couple of weeks, as she defends him to colton multiple times

and, in the end, concludes that she would rather be “on the side of the victim” with mulder than climb the ladder with her classmates, and tells colton to fuck off the next time he’s rude about her partner

in ghost in the machine, she's disapproving of jerry from the moment they meet, knowing literally nothing about him except that he used to work with mulder

and she instantly recognizes the profile that jerry presents as mulder's work, whispering to him to ask if that's his, to which he replies "forget it, no" and then later fibs and says that jerry apologized for stealing it (once you tell your best friend you can't go back lol)

all of these examples pre-date her behavior in fire, and are episodes where she's put in situations navigating mulder around other men

i touched on this a little bit in my post on fire, but scully really was just so enthralled by him from the very beginning. she grew up on a military base with her navy captain father and two brothers, and her only relationships have been with older men in power.

she instantly is so aligned with mulder and that there's something different in him than she's used to, but she's aware that the openness and softness that she's so drawn to in him makes him more vulnerable, and she's desperate to protect it

in beyond the sea, the very next episode after fire, she screams at boggs that if mulder dies she'll gas him into hell herself, and boggs tells her that he's tasted the afterlife.

that it's a cold and dark place, and mulder's looking in on it now. she replies, "it might be a cold dark place for you, but it's not for mulder"

she knows him, and she's so moved by him and what he wants to do in the world. these are the values that she left medicine to follow.

"jealousy" honestly doesn't even compare to the kind of ferocious protectiveness that she feels towards him from the very start, she really doesn't trust anyone around him for anything. they can't possibly get it like she does, if they treat him that way.

he may not care if people call him names or steal from him or try to make him walk through fire, but he really is just her best friend. and she can't stand it.

the blocking and cinematography of this scene gives us a lot about sergei, and by extension, ocelot. every time sergei speaks the camera is on him so that we can clearly see the emotions on his face. everything he says, every emotion he goes through is authentic. he's shocked and betrayed at the idea that ocelot, someone he had assumed was his ally, could betray him so casually, and he reacts with strong, intense emotions. by contrast, when the camera is on ocelot it either focuses on his feet, or shows him from an upward or sideways angle where his face is either obscured or not plainly visible. this is significant because ocelot's little speech here is one of the only times he comes close to speaking his true feelings. obviously he doesn't give sergei the whole story, but for once he isn't lying here. he really doesn't care about mother russia. he really did abandon russia during the cold war. his reasons for that, as we know in hindsight, pertain to john and his dedication to him, something that i assume sergei knows nothing about. but i also don't think he's lying when he tells sergei he's glad that sergei has noticed (unsaid: his devotion to john).

i want to bring up the eyes closed thing because without a free camera mod there's no way to know if ocelot's eyes were closed for this entire speech where he reveals his true feelings. if they were indeed closed the entire time, we can interpret this as ocelot being unable to speak the truth unless he hides part of himself (eyes as a window to the soul, if you will) away.

but even if they weren't closed, the fact that they're obscured from the camera and from the audience is still significant. ocelot is only able to speak of himself and his devotion to john in half truths, and when he does it he's not able to show himself completely. he's not an authentic person despite his very "pure" (as described in kojima's mgs3 commentary) love for john so even when he speaks of it he has to conceal himself, as if the honesty of it will just tear him apart if he tries to embody it completely. this very contradiction drives him for 50 years.
