Hey losers and losettes,
I’m in the very early stages of starting a little diy zine about horror movies! I have no experience in this so advice is appreciated lol. But I’m hoping to have it out by July. I’m calling it PHOBIA and the theme of this one is summer horror, so not strictly ones that take place in summer but they got the vibes. Along with the horror theme there’s also gonna be a smaller section about upcoming music/concerts/etc too. Going to attempt to have it in print but it may end up digital if that’s easier for me. And I’m having open submissions!
I’m open to all things, art, reviews and rantings, movie recommendations, original fiction or horror poetry, even your urban legends (got a story about a evil ice cream truck lol I’d love to hear it!). The subjects so far are:
House of wax 2005
Sharp objects 2018
X 2022
Texas Chainsaw 3d 2013, though I haven’t watched it yet..
Hopefully Maxxxine 2024 if one of my local theaters plays it when it comes out
Music, so if you want a shameless plug of your band hit me up!
And anything else I (or you) can think of
So if that’s something your interested in email me at: [email protected]

WIBTA if I posted my art from a zine early?
I (23nb) joined a zine for a semi obscure 2000s manga/anime as a page artist with two of my friends. I enjoy this media but I don't really consider myself in the fandom, I only joined because one of my aforementioned friends is a huge fan of it and the other friend is also a casual enjoyer and we thought it would be fun if we all did a zine together.
However.
Most zines have a timeline of around 9-10 months from beginning to publishing but this one's been in production for almost 2 years. I've been in a few zines and this one has the worst organization I've ever seen in any project. The timeline on the discord only covered the first 5 months and had no estimate for how long the production would be, but a year and a half for publishing is pretty unheard of. The only check-in for progress that I remember didn't even require sending in your piece, you just had to say if you were finished or not and only a handful of the 30ish people on the discord responded lmao. Both of my friends ghosted at this point and the Singular mod (there might be two mods. I can't really tell) didn't dm them to see if they still wanted to participate or anything. Since there is only one person doing everything me and a few others have asked if they need any help and every time the mod(s) say that they're fine. every month or two someone will ask how the production is going and the mod will answer, and then another month goes by and the cycle repeats. I think the zine has finally gone into its “preorder interest check” stage (so not the actual preorder) but judging by how long everything takes i estimate that it'll be another 2 months at least before it actually goes into preorder. Its also never been clear if this is a free zine or if the sales will be donated to charity or distributed among the contributors. Since there's Allegedly going to be a physical copy it's gotta at least use the sales money to pay for production and shipping costs, but I have no idea if I'll be compensated with a physical copy or any money, especially if I do the thing that I might be TA for.
So here's my actual question. WIBTA if I posted the art I made for the zine before the mod says it's ok to do so? A big part of zine etiquette is that you do not post the final piece until the zine is finished, and the repercussions for someone who does range from a mod dming them to take it down or being kicked out of the zine entirely or in the absolute worst case, called out and blacklisted in the fandom and zine circles (I don't think anything that serious will happen to me but I have anxiety so I'm always imagining the worst thing) Most of the people on Tumblr in this fandom are kind of annoying fandom mom millennial types so I don't really want to deal with any possible backlash from them lol. If I just posted my art on Instagram idk if any of them would see it, but they Definitely would if I posted on Tumblr since the zine originated on there and it's such a small tag. I'm also so frustrated with the experience I kind of want to write something cunty in the description about how it's a zine piece for a zine that probably will never come out but I know that's just being petty and would probably invite drama. Also since I drew this thing a year and a half ago it's a little busted looking so I might redraw parts of it, so posting it would still be kinda shitty but it would technically be a different piece from the original one I submitted to the zine.
What are these acronyms?

Got baited into making zines for zinetober by @koddlet after seeing their "worst thing I've ever folded" zine!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(all of the green ones in this first zine are things in my breakroom at work)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also while I was on the phone with my mom yesterday I folded like. 20 blank mini zines in this size by accident. I just looked down and they were there??
Anyways, I've talked a little bit about this but I haven't like. Made art in a really long time until this year bc I was so caught up in whether or not it would be good when other people looked at it that I stopped making it for me. And then I was reminded by a friend that making art isn't about that, it should be about creating, and I feel like I just got a limb back now that I'm making art again.
So yeah, I wasn't going to share this zine but then I thought, hey, if I ever inspired someone to make something, I'd want to know. Plus, they said they wanted to see the zines people were making, so here ya go! I have one more I might share, and I think I might keep making them.

If I’m lucky, I’ll be asleep when the new year hits, so I’m gonna do my Sappy Post now:
This year has been maybe my absolute worst year ever. A ton of Bad Stuff happened, and it sucked
But also? This year was really genuinely amazing. I got published for the first time! I discovered a genuine love for cooking! I started working out again and I’ve started actual self care for the first time, and it’s amazing!
And then there’s the QSMP. If you asked me what I thought of it when I watched the trailer for the first time on a gas station bathroom floor as I was sick to my stomach, I would’ve said it was cool. But I never would’ve expected to experience such a genuinely fantastic and welcoming community!!! You guys are awesome!!!
I’ve learned enough Spanish to be able to translate basic sentences out in the wild (back in May, I was able to translate a Spanish conversation I’d heard on vacation, and I can only imagine what I could do now.) I started learning Portuguese even though my pronunciation is actual garbage, and I picked up French again after letting my French education rot for two years. I’ve always thought language learning was fun, but now it’s just !!!!!! you know?
And then there’s my fics because HOLY SHIT I’ve done so much this year! I’ve done a ton of one shots and aus and I’ve managed to finish a multi chapter fic for the first time ever, and then there’s Breaking Dawn, which is insane on its own. I organized a fandom theme week for the first time, and I can’t wait to do it again!!
Maybe next year I’ll convert my twitter into something I can use to network over there. I want to bridge the gap between the twitter Guapoduo Guys and the tumblr Spiderbit Girlies because, really, we’re just two communities on two different platforms. I want to finish Breaking Dawn and work on the Fantasy AU. I want to do a zine if someone advertises for one. I want to play the Paranormal Order rpg (maybe my regular rpg group would be down for a oneshot lol.)
I started this year with 300 or so followers, and I’m ending it tonight with 1,599 and I’m not even joking. I’m so happy to get to experience everything with you guys, and I hope our collective spiderbit hysteria moments continue into 2024 and culminate in a reunion and some murders and a birthday party for one silly little egg.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :D

Hi!
I'm so late!
But I'd love to know about HF!E
for the wip game!
Thank you, Betty! ✨
HF!E stands for High Fidelity!Eddie. It isn't a HF au it just takes place in a record store and I didn't have a name for it. It was an idea for a one-shot inspired by this playlist featuring gothic/spooky songs before goth was a genre.
It made me think about Eddie who just moved to Chicago with Corroded Coffin and is slowly being accepted by the scene. Reader works at a record store and is playing this mixtape over the speakers and Eddie very much falls in love.
I started writing it and then didn't really like it but here's a lil' snippet:
“What the fuck are you listening to anyway?”
“I made a pre-Halloween mix. Music that lead to goth before goth was a thing.” You frown as you try to unstick a bright red sticker from the price gun you’d been tapping on the pile of vinyl.
Eddie smiles to himself as he continues to pretend he’s browsing and not tuning into your conversation.
“Are you going to The Allied tonight? There’s some new band from Indiana or something playing, apparently they do a sick cover of Master of Puppets.”
Eddie pauses in his faux perusing for a second as he awaits your reply.
“I wasn’t really planning on it, no.”
The guy huffs, “No? What was your plan, going home to sulk to The Velvet Underground?”
“I don’t sulk–“
“You do when you listen to The Velvet Underground.”
“What do you want me to do? Pogo to Heroin? Anyway, I was gonna work on an article actually.”
“Why don’t you write about this band tonight? Tim says they’re pretty good. He saw them a couple of weeks ago at the Metro.”
“Tim said that about that god awful noise band that played at De Salle’s. It was the worst four hours of my life. I thought my ears were actually going to bleed.”
“Whatever, you say that like you’re not currently playing the most depressing German synth music that nobody in their right mind would listen to.” He points out the new song playing from the speakers behind you.
“First of all, this is David Bowie’s Low. And if you knew as much about music as you claim to, you’d know that this was his seminal work in his Berlin era and an ambient soundscape masterpiece. Secondly–“
“I like it.”
Both of your heads shoot up at Eddie’s interruption. He blushes and clears his throat as you catch his eye and the corner of your mouth quirks up. “Sorry, I just–it’s a good mixtape. I like the theme.” He frowns and shakes his head at himself, he doesn’t know what came over him. Who is this guy that’s bothering you, anyway? You have amazing taste and he’s pretty sure you’re the most angelic thing he’s ever seen. You gesture in his direction and look back at the guy that’s teasing you.
“The customer is always right, Simon.”
Eddie moves quickly to the B section and finds the album you were talking about before heading over to you.
“Did you find everything you need?” You smile at him sweetly as you hop off the counter and take the record from him. “I’m sorry, I should’ve asked before. Customer service isn’t exactly my strongest skill.”
The guy, Simon, snorted. Eddie couldn’t take his eyes off the way your face lit up quietly when you realised what album he picked.
“What are your strongest skills?” That was such a weird question Munson, what the hell?
You looked up at him a little taken aback, before a small smile crept up on your face.
“Talking about music…or” you shake your head in contemplation, “writing about it actually.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Maybe it’s not so much a skill, more like an obsession.”
“She’s actually kind of good.” Simon butts in with a shrug and you roll your eyes.
“Such a high compliment cuz.”
You were cousins. He still had a shot.
“You write for magazines?” Eddie asks.
“Zines mostly,” you point to a stack of xeroxed pamphlets on the counter, “but I’ve published a few reviews with Spin and The Face.”
Eddie raises his eyebrows, “That’s pretty cool.”
You breathe out a laugh and take the cash he hands you, collecting his change. “Thanks.”
“Wait, you're Eddie, right?” He turns to Simon, almost forgetting he was there. “Your band’s playing at The Allied tonight? I met your drummer Gareth at a show last week.”
“Uh yeah that’s me. We’re called Corroded Coffin.”
“Cool name.” You smirk and hand him his record wrapped in paper. Eddie tucks it under his arm, his dimples showing as he smiles back at you.
“Thanks.”
“You’re from Indiana then?” You call back to Simon’s earlier statement, as Eddie doesn’t make a move to immediately leave.
He rubs the back of his neck as he nods, “Yeah. Just moved here a couple of months ago with my band.”
“Welcome to Chicago, Eddie.” You smile and introduce yourself, “Let me know if there’s ever anything I can do for you…vinyl wise I mean.”
“Thanks,” he scratches the stubble on his jaw before stepping away from the counter. “Maybe I’ll see you tonight at the show?” He tries to keep his voice casual, but there’s a hint of hope in there.
You bite your lip and shrug, “Yeah, maybe you will.”
Eddie nods and takes his queue to leave, the bell jingling again as he steps back out into the cold.
“Yeah, maybe you will.” Simon mocks you in a breathy imitation and you roll your eyes. “So now that you know the singer is cute are you coming?”
“Obviously! You better get me on the door list, or I swear to god I’m telling Aunt Carol about the stash in your underwear drawer.”
Okay, there were a lot more High Fidelity references than I remembered. Fun fact: I have read the book and watched the film and HBO reboot so many times I could quote word-for-word. I also dressed up as Zoe Kravitz's Rob for an office Halloween party once, complete with the Wings Over America live album that she talks about in that scene with the misogynistic cheater. Only one girl got it because she was a fan of Zoe Kravitz lol.

AO3 tag game :3
thanks so much for the tag @mvshortcut !!!!! much appreciated, this was a blast to fill out :D
How many works do you have on AO3?
86! Damn, that's more than I remember 🙀 I have been writing pretty fervently since I was pretty young, though, and I transferred all my old fics from fanfiction dot net to AO3, so it's a long stretch of time. All my old wattpad fics are still rotting somewhere though lmaooo I can't even access them anymore bc I forgot my password and I can't reset it bc I used a school email 😔
What's your total AO3 word count?
443,734! When I get to half a million I'm gonna have to throw myself a party. With boba and everything
How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they?
Oof, okay, here we go. A lot of the fandoms I have tagged on AO3 don't really "count" because they're just aggregate tags for the same fandom, so even though AO3 says the number is 48, I'm gonna count the TRUE number as 17. (It got cut down so much because of how many video game series have different games with different fandom tags on AO3, lmao)
Here's the breakdown of the list:
Persona (Mostly Persona 3)
Fire Emblem (Mostly Shadow Dragon and Blazing Sword)
Legend of Zelda
Pokemon
Professor Layton
RWBY
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Earthbound/MOTHER
Red vs. Blue
Voltron Legendary Defender
Naruto
Final Fantasy XV
Harvest Moon
The Mysterious Benedict Society
The Avengers
Animal Crossing
Care Bears (despite having never actually consumed any Care Bears media to my knowledge)
The worst part is that this stupid list would be much, much, MUCH longer if I finished even a quarter of my WIPs 😭 Hell, even just my "Video Games" subfolder in my "Fanfiction" subfolder has more than 17 subfolders in it...
Tumblr media
Y'all don't understand how many random fics my ADHD spares you from ever seeing I have no focus
Top five fics by kudos:
Ash and Emotion (Zelda) - Not surprising, I knew this was my most popular fic. It was for a ZeLink zine full of beautiful work :)
Resemblance (Naruto) - bro I always forget people really liked this one. Literally an unedited drabble I did in an hour for a "pride month drabble challenge" which I immediately abandoned. Trans rights I guess
Always Wanna Play (But You Never Wanna Lose) (Persona 3) - This one isn't surprising either, and I'm very proud of this fic so I'm quite chuffed to see it get so much attention... thanks everyone :')
The Beat of Your Heart (Zelda) - Now this one surprised me a lot. This was just a little piece for ZeLink week... Another unedited one, I literally was writing it on the toilet in church so I could get it out in time 😭
Comfort (Zelda) - Another ZeLink week piece, but I knew this one was popular. Also unedited, lmao. I was writing it on the day of my AP Calc finals and I rushed through the exam so I could have more time to work on the fic 😭 I made some Choices that year
Do you respond to comments?
I try to! But I get very anxious about it and tend to work myself into a tizzy, so I often put it off for later and then forget, haha. Then I'll go and respond to all my comments from the last few months and feel even weirder about it... T_T
What's the fic with the angstiest ending you've ever written?
Oof. That's... a hard one, haha. I've written a couple of fics without happy endings, though I typically don't. At least three fics which end on a canonical character death, for instance. But I'd say the ending which made me the most emo writing was Butter, a Mother 3 fic. It ends with Lucas, who's like 9, recently lost his mother, then lost his twin brother (and thinks it's his fault), and is now being neglected by his father, crawling into bed and crying. So yeah, pretty bleak, lmao... but at least he doesn't die I guess?
Do you write crossovers?
I do, but I haven't posted many yet. I'm not always huge on writing them, but I do think about them a lot. I was working on this one Persona 3 x Fire Emblem Awakening crossover but I lost steam on it, and now there's a really lovely crossover on AO3 with a similar premise that I was SO delighted to come across!!! Hope y'all don't mind me taking a break from linking my own work to shill for this one, hehe
Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?
Unfortunately, yes, about six times, I'd say. Even more unfortunately, most of those times happened earlier on in my fanfic writing career, and I was pretty sensitive to hate back then, so I deleted many of the relevant fics, and some of them I don't even have access to myself anymore.
Not gonna talk about the ones that are still upsetting, but I will talk about the funny examples: on a (since deleted) RWBY fic, I said in the author's note that I "wrote them as platonic, but the fic can be read as WhiteRose", and then I got a glowing comment gushing about how good the story was which ended with "but then you had to ruin it by shitting all over WhiteRose, how about you [long suicide bait]". Third most baffling comment I've ever received.
The two most baffling were on different fics, but both were making the same weird accusation??? One was on a ZeLink fic (actually, on Comfort, my fifth most kudos'ed fic of all time now), and y'know I think I'm just gonna show you the comment in question:
Tumblr media
The other one was on a long-since deleted fic which focused on both a romantic ship, as well as a fatherly relationship between one member of the ship and the other member's father. I guess having a fatherly relationship with your father-in-law makes your boyfriend actually your brother (and therefore you can't date him anymore). IDK man people are crazy. (tbf the commenter in question thought I was setting it up so that he'd get adopted by his boyfriend's parents, which would give them more of a case, but like... that didn't happen in the fic and wasn't going to. they just guessed at a future plot development and got angry about their guess)
Do you write smut?
I do, but I've never posted any. I've posted one fic that was very suggestive, I'd even call it "NSFW" in a sense, but never anything explicit. Maybe I will in the future? We'll see if I can ever finish anything smutty, lmao.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yep, I had Ultimatum, my longest chapter-fic (and by far my most popular fic in the ff.n days) stolen and posted on another site by somebody. I reported it but never checked back up to see if it got taken down.
I also feel that I've had my work plagiarized pretty damn blatantly in another fandom (I was browsing a certain AU tag and read one which contained all the exact events and sometimes word-for-word dialogue from a fic of mine, just very very slightly rewritten) but the poster had no other works and their writing was definitely extremely juvenile, so... I figured they were a dumb kid and just decided not to raise a fuss. Checked back later and they deleted it, hopefully because they realized they shouldn't do that, so I figure there's no need to start shit over it. Honestly, if that person used that experience as a jumping-off point to write their own fics, then I'm glad it happened, imitation being the highest form of flattery and all.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, though I had someone reach out to me on fanfiction dot net a long time ago and ask permission to translate An Unheard Goodbye, which was super exciting! I agreed, but I don't believe they ever got around to it, or if they did, they never posted it. Still very flattering, and I think about that a lot, hehe.
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
HOW COULD I POSSIBLY ANSWER THIS. UM. UM UH. UHHH UM UH I. UM.
I'm.... gonna say Zelda/Link? I haven't written it in FOREVER but it was such a huge part of me coming into my own as a fanfic author, so I have to give it credit for that.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
.......all of them 😭 god I have so many of these damn things. But for the prime example, I'd point to Ultimatum, an old Pokemon fic that I started in middle school. I got all the way to the climax and I feel bad leaving my readers hanging, but... at this point, if I did continue it, I would honestly have to rewrite the whole fic first just to be in line with my current understanding of the characters.
What are your writing strengths?
Y'know, I think I get character voices down extremely well in a way which elevates my dialogue and narration. That's probably the thing I'm most proud of in my own writing, at least.
What are your writing weaknesses?
BREVITY. Or the utter, glaring lack of it. I have also been known to muddy up my writing with an overabundance of A) adverbs, B) unneeded clauses tacked onto perfectly good sentences, and C) em-dashes 😭
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?
I think it's dope as fuck, but I currently can't really accomplish it because I'm monolingual (NOT FOR LONG IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT, I'M COMING FOR YOU, JAPANESE FLUENCY!!!!). I will also say that I don't like when authors will write characters having a story-important conversation in another language, then put the translations in the end notes or something, requiring you to either read the chapter confused or else keep scrolling back down and back up.... I think even that's totally fine to do if what's being said isn't plot-relevant, though.
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Naruto. I hadn't read or watched Naruto btw, I had only read other Naruto fanfics. I have spoken on this topic many times, but it remains hilarious to me. Also, so many of my old Naruto fics are lost to the Wattpad times, but I will take this opportunity to once again share a quote which I recently managed to unearth from my long-lost unsung magnum opus:
Tumblr media
Never ever will I intentionally attain the level of comedy gold that I managed while writing completely dead serious Naruto fanfiction on Wattpad in 2012.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written so far?
See above. How could I ever top that fic.
In all seriousness, this question always makes me sweat, but I think I'm gonna say Oil, a slightly older fic from my EliHec days which I absolutely obsessed over for months before finally managing to finish. And, unlike most of the fics that I obsess over, I think the obsession actually made it come out better rather than worse, haha.
thanks again for the tag!!!! as for me, I'll tag uhh, hm, @wizard-finix @dreamedge @misty-wisp @flyfish1999 and any other AO3 writers who see this!!! (idk how many of you use AO3 and most of the MBS authors I know have probably already been tagged hehe but anybody who wants to should absolutely feel free!!!!!!!)

LuLaw Fic: The Seventh Wife Of Emperor Nika
A.U. DILF Luffy x DILF Law. Emperor x Healer. Slow-burn. Miscommunication.
Inspired from Bluebeard’s Seven Wives
Written for @truffyfest 2023.
Tumblr media
This is my first ever time participating in a Zine project! The story is extremely precious to me, I couldn’t have finished it had @quackquackcey not supported me throughout the process. It was an honour to be part of the fest! I finally found courage 12 years after becoming a LawLu shipper.
Tumblr media
You can download A New Dawn: a One Piece Lawlu/Lulaw Zine- here.
Or read the entire collection on Ao3.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Trafalgar D Water Law was heartbroken.
The man he loved, his one true love, his soulmate, was married. Married not once or twice, but married six times.
And as if the pain of this information was not enough, his family was not consoling him either, instead, they wanted him to accept the position of being the Emperor’s seventh wife, in his case male-wife.
“I really can’t understand you, child, you are almost forty, why can’t you agree to this marriage?” Law’s father huffed as he wrote down the list of raw materials they needed to buy the next morning. “Your mother told me you are crying every night if you love him so much, why are you wallowing in this pain? People die of heartache, you know? You can be the ruler of this empire, but you choose to suffer in overthinking!”
“Yeah, tell him, Dad!” Law’s younger sister Lamy added her support from one corner of the backroom.
Law had no answer, he was at his wit’s end. Heartbreak couldn’t be justified easily, in his case he had explained to his family multiple times, that he didn’t wish to be someone’s male-wife, wife, husband or spouse, if they already had six wives in their castle! Now he was suffering from guilt, guilt of loving someone so magnificent that he felt selfish.
“You better say yes, before that Emperor Lover of yours does something drastic!” Law’s mother walked into the backroom carrying the fresh herbs and minerals, that needed to be dried under the scorching afternoon sun. “Lamy, take these out! Dry this girl.”
Without a fuss, the teen took the herbs and walked out quickly, only to return even faster. “Why are you back with these?” Their mother asked. Lamy had returned with a pale face, as if a ghost had visited her in their kitchen garden.
“Answer your Mom.” Their father scolded, finding no reaction, the head of the family continued, “Look at this girl, she learned her attitude from Law”
Finding no reply, the elder brother went to his sister, “Lamy what happened?” Law pressed his palms on his sister’s cheeks. “Why are you cold?” The teen girl stood there like a statue in front of her family, clenching hard on the tray of herbs.
“Did something happen?” Both parents rushed to the teen, fearing the worst. “Did anyone hurt you?”
After a long pause, the teen spoke, “The sun is gone!”

from kathleen hanna's 1993 zine my life with evan dando, pop star. (via)
I fell in love with Evan because it seemed like the worst thing i could do at the time. I fell in love with Evan because it was totally uncool and pathetic which is how i felt inside. I fell in love with Evan because the band i am in started getting all this weird attention and i felt like he was the only one who would understand. I fell in love with Evan because sometimes i wish i was a boy and that the worst thing that ever happened to me was having too many girls like me. I fell in love with Evan because i wanted him to die and thought if i could get him to love me i would show him what a broken heart really was. I fell in love with Evan because he is a total slut and everyone thinks its very cute, unlike when i was in jr hi and high school and the word "slut" followed me everywhere at arms length. I fell in love with Evan because i don't do drugs and so i need other destructive pasttimes. I fell in love with Evan because i can't deal with real boys barely at all and yet am wildly attracted attracted their flat chests and strait hips (sometimes) Evan is my perfect boyfriend because i am allowed to invent him all by myself.

When it comes to Zines, do you ever worry about copyright laws? Especially when it comes to IP's from bigger studios like Disney/Pixar/etc? Because I haven't made a comic in years, and fan comics sound like a great way to practice (and earn passive income if I like it enough to post online) but I worry about The Mouse bringing down the hammer on me (or whatever other company ; w ; ) once money is involved... /gen
I do not, the reason being:
- parody is acceptable use of copyrighted material (there are other acceptable uses, which you can research) - big studios have way bigger fish to fry - the worst they can do is have the site you are using take down your zine
You aren’t going to get sued. They really don’t care about small potatoes from an indie artist, and we are not worth their time for actual lawsuits. If you are still worried, you can also make works with copyrighted material on a Patreon-style system where people pay for regular updates, or you can do an advance payment style where you say, for example, “If I reach x goal, I’ll post this comic for all to read!”

Wow you guys, thanks so much for 30k followers!!!
(Also store update.)
I never thought you guys would like this so much 😂 I was thinking about it last night and I really am glad I started this blog. I think getting to see how happy people get seeing and remembering their childhood toys is one of my favorite parts. I also like sharing my art with you guys— and I’m glad you all seem to like it too. I started this blog during some of the worst years mentally I’d ever gone through and in a way it did help me. Even if it’s just a toy blog it still means a lot to me because of that.
Also, regarding the store, I really want to sell physical products but my anxiety has been preventing that from happening. Apologies if you were looking forward to physical zines— I know it sucks since printers aren’t easily accessible to a lot of people. I also have a ton of keychains and other goodies I’d love to sell. But A) the process of shipping is super overwhelming and B) I’m a deeply private person and sharing my address makes me uncomfortable. I’ve looked into PO Boxes but even the smallest sizes are really expensive, and as an investment I’m not planning on opening a shop to make big profits so I’d be most likely losing money in renting one. I hope I can figure something out and hopefully my paranoia will get better to the point where that won’t be as big of an issue anymore. Not to bum anyone out just wanted to be honest since it’s been weighing on me for a while : (
Anyway thank you all for being so supportive and kind 💚

Probably my worst trait - or one of them - is the negative self talk re: my own creations.
No, nothing really pulls numbers. No, I'll probably never be a fancypants zine artist or a big name fandom writer. I'm writing and drawing for an audience of, like, 4 people sometimes. Hell, most of the time.
But that doesn't mean I have to be mean to my boys. Or, by extension, myself.
Blood Upon the Snow is not "the dumb bear thing." It was actually a big fucking deal for me! Lots of personal trauma wrapped up in that one AND it's the first big thing I ever finished on my own. It's collecting internet dust now, but it remains incredibly important -to me-.
My omegaverse coming of age series isn't "omegaverse, but make it boring." Parts of that are also important to me in pretty personal ways, actually. There are elements of feeling out of synch with yourself and your emotions, being scared of change but still trying to be hopeful, and a portrayal of a mom I honestly wish I had.
24 Hours isn't "that overly long weird porn thing." It's also touching on some personal issues around body image and feeling comfortable in your own skin.
And those are just the biggest three things I've done. Almost everything I write has pieces of me in it. Some more than others, but they're all mirrors. When I give them these needly little names in an effort to, I don't know, diminish their importance... I'm really just diminishing myself.
And it's also just mean to my boys. And I love my boys. So I gotta stop that.
