also... i did the math (meaning, i eyeballed a height chart with freddy's model and put the numbers in an ellipse calculator i found online)—freddy, and therefore moon here, has a bust size of 179.74 cm or 70.76 inches (almost 5'11" circumference).

writing muse: not thicc enough. the world record for the largest muscular chest is 74 inches!

hi i am having a lot of thoughts about Magneto (especially First Class) so here it goes

• Erik has been alone ever since the war ended and Shaw stopped experimenting on him. He was 15. When he gets found by Charles, he was 32.

• If Shaw didn't tell Erik he himself was a mutant, he probably thought he was the only one. He probably learned about them while hunting down Shaw because he wasn't surprised when he saw Emma's diamond form. Charles had the LUXURY of learning about other mutant's existence by meeting Raven.

• Erik was probably only ever hugged by his mother until he met his Polish wife, so he went over 30 years without hugs.

• Peter was 7 during the events of First Class. Just needed to say that.

• Erik must've been so happy to be a dad. He loved Nina so much. He was ready to change. He sang to his daughter. He couldn't be a father to Peter but he had a daughter now he could catch up with. She couldn't be older than 10 when she died.

• The first time Erik said "sorry" (in the script) was to Charles when he put on Shaw's helmet.

• In the scene where Erik interrupts Hank and Raven from kissing, it was very shortly after he joined the group, so he had never seen Raven's true form yet, and he told her "if I looked like you I wouldn't change a thing."

• Charles was Erik's first friend. At 32 years old. Just think about how freaking sad that is omg.

• also this one is slightly random but since Erik lived through ww2, in like about 20 years, he would be totally dead. Idk if that makes sense but if xmen comics universe is similar to our universe then they would also be in 2020 or something like that and so Erik would be too old. Just a thought that i think about often

In an AU where Pharma lives the Adaptus thing and comes back on the Lost Light, wouldn't he find out that the crew had to deal with being cornered and nearly killed by the DJD and a bunch of other Decepticons?

And then Pharma could get to be like "oh I see :) you were under threat by the DJD :))) why didn't you just run? Oh you couldn't and had no means of escape? Funny :)))) didn't you call for help? Oh you did right??? And did anyone come???? :)))))) did anyone come in time to save you from the DJD????? DID THEY????? DID YOU JUST CALL FOR HELP AND RUN AWAY AND THE DJD JUST LET YOU GO????? :))))))))))) OH THE DJD BLOCKED COMMUNICATIONS AND HAD YOU SURROUNDED????? OH HOW TRAGIC I GUESS YOU COULDN'T ESCAPE AFTER ALL AND A LOT OF YOUR FRIENDS DIED :)))))))))))))))) AND THE ONLY REASON YOU WON WAS BECAUSE YOU HAD A LOT OF SUPERPOWERFUL FIGHTERS ON YOUR SIDE???? In other words, I'm pretty much convinced that the reason Pharma is remembered as "the evil cowardly doctor that murdered innocents to save his own skin" instead of "the Autobot that got mindbroken by Tarn into thinking that making a plague and killing everyone was his only way to escape" is because he got introduced before the DJD were established as a pants-shittingly evil and sadistic group of freaks, and unlike Rodimus' crew he didn't have the luxury of being a main character whose thoughts and experiences were shown on screen. Pretty much his reputation as "crazy token evil Autobot" was sealed from MTMTE #5 and by the time MTMTE #50-something brought Dying of the Light, Pharma was a footnote in the story and never got to have this new information about the terror of the DJD factored into his own character.

#squiggposting #pharma apologism #i mean isnt there literally a scene in dying of the light where tarn talks about how drawing out his strike #makes the enemy suffer more from degradation and panic #and megatron says that he wrote the DJD manifesto to be about systematically isolating and tormenting targets b4 actually killing them #and when they send out an SOS its not received until literally weeks later #and pretty much the only reason most of them survived was bc of spark trauma magic #and having a mad scientist that could make super badass upgrades and weapons #but oh when PHARMA doesnt call for help and doesnt run away it's just bc hes evil and cowardly #i mean i know in the text he says that he just wanted to get away with his name cleared but like #how can you look at what the DJD did in future chapters and go oh yeah pharma did what he did #just because hes prideful and didnt want to ask for help or get caught for his misdeeds #like sure that's the only part the narrative shows but that's prolly bc pharma wasnt meant to be that deep #from a doylist view there wouldnt have been room in the story for this random side villain to get a sad backstory #anyways it just really. gets my goat lmao #the difference b/t pharma and the LL crew on necroworld in terms of audience sympathy #was basically just placement in the story and screentime #hence why pharma is just a crazy evil doctor who sucks at being an autobot #and the LL crew are brave heroes and friends making a last stand against evil #good for the LL crew that they could actually fight back but uh. pharma couldnt #abyways sorry for being weird about pharma on main it will happen again

nightbringer lesson 14 FUCKED ME UP in several ways but primarily I've spent the last 48 hours making myself sad over the solomon backstory we got. specifically I have, for no reason, latched onto that one chapter in the Kids event where baby solomon cried because he felt so guilty over being responsible for that spell. and that just feels a touch more depressing in context

#nightbringer spoilers #obey me on side #went back and unlocked the event again because i could not get this out of my brain i know it's probably not that deep #but it is that deep TO ME. okay #baby solomon has been on my brain since thirteen told that story so that's probably why it's sticking in my brain so hard but whatever #in case anyone was wondering the other things to make me sad are:#he has such a deeply excessive amount of lights in his room in purgatory hall there are SEVERAL chandeliers and lamps #there's a good handful in his room in cocytus hall too (his horror dg showed it) if a more normal amount #but that with the 'dim and gloomy' detail. ☹️#i've also always thought that solomon's loneliness wasn't all about the immortal angst but like.#having it confirmed that he's had reason to be lonely since he was a child- before he was old enough to know he was using magic-#totally crushed me girl why can't I be wrong #had emotions about lesson 14 in general but solomon backstory steals the show every time for me so i haven't gotten around to the rest #i'm enjoying the nightbringer story so much (not talking about the game design. that's a different thing entirely) but man #the pacing is WILD it feels like every lesson could be a whole lesson block at the least. it's giving me a lot of room to speculate #which I always love! but i do wish they would slow down a little and expand on some of these concepts they're bringing up #because the basic idea of the game alone is REALLY INTRIGUING and it'd be a shame if they raced back to the present imo #what was i even talking about. sorry my brain fast forwards as soon as i get into the tags there is not one sequitur to be seen #so curious about solomon's friend now too. like my guess is it's going to be lilith (and hopefully not in a popular fan theory kind of way)#because it's more than a little suspicious that they expanded on lilith's views on humans the way they did #in a way that SO PERFECTLY lines up with the expansion on solomon's views on humans #WHICH I HAVEN'T TALKED ABOUT YET BY THE WAY BUT LIKE. HE IS SO RIGHT AND REAL FOR THAT #it's beyond stressful to me that I think solomon is completely justified in his views and being completely reasonable about it #but that it would also mean war between the worlds presumably while the brothers are still recovering from THEIRS #you cannot give me that choice man. not even sure that the human world would be ABLE to win that fight if we're being real #solomon's 72 pacts are a lot yes but he's still only one guy who is NOT on good terms with the sorcerer's society #and mc is powerful but so so inexperienced. and that's IF they choose to side with the human world which #really i don't think the canon mc is likely to do. but anyway i guess solomon's friend could also be adam maybe?#that could be wishful thinking because i like adam though. even if his hair SUUUCKS #deeply offended by everyone thinking solomon got the fucked up hair when all signs point to adam be NICE TO HIM he's ugly already

People looove giving uf papyrus bad posture idk why but I’ve been trying to come up with reasons why. He’s just shy. He has anxiety <3 The armor is too heavy for his frame but he insists on wearing it anyway. Childhood accident that left him with a crooked spine </3 Sans made him feel self conscious about being tall. Undyne told him when he was a teenager that if he gets taller than her she’ll break his legs off from the knee down. Thinks it makes him look more intimidating (it doesn’t). Has scoliosis :\

Goddamn Alador's face here.

He said he hasn't had a day off in 5 years and it fucking shows in his appearance & demeanor -- things that were chalked up to just be his personality but are maybe actually signs of his suffering -- but when you see Odalia threatening to really put the kids to manual labor the palpable fear on his face is devastating. (Like, her own kids!!!! It probably would've fallen mostly on Amity as she's the one skilled with abomination, but also probably would've resulted in forcing the twins to get abomination sigil sealed instead of studying any of their actual interests)

I feel bad hating him before, like yeah he was neglectful to the point of not talking to his kids prior to this pivotal moment of him finally standing up to her, but with this context revealed he probably hasn't really had a chance to talk to any of them since like... Amity's bday party where they forced her to ditch Willow, lest they become worked like cattle too. He's beaten down and mistreated but if he just shoulders it all himself at least the kids won't get too much of the overflow abuse, right?

Makes you wonder what his side of the bargain was to keep her from exploiting the kids, or how it got to that bargain to begin with. If the closeness they displayed back at Hexside was ever genuine, or if Odalia sought him out specifically thanks to Oracle magic and seeing a wealthy future and it was all some long con, or if maybe it was genuine at one point but then eventually over time it rotted from the core and suddenly Alador found himself locked into this nightmare.

This reveal alone really gives a lot of justification to all of Alador's previous behaviors, and thanks to King of all people he finally got to get out of dodge and save the kids in the process. Good for him. Happy divorce, dude

how to make a character who sucks so bad and nobody likes him but he is genuinely a good protagonist (good as in interesting, maybe on a rare day good as in decent but also, just like, an incredible jackass) . i need to make him worse i need to make him MEANER!

#i think the key to getting this kind of character right is that he can't try to be anybody's boss #that's not the fun and engaging kind of jackass that's just reminding the reader of all the bosses they've hated in their time #the engaging and likeable Guy Who Sucks So Bad is a loner who might CLAIM that he will take over the group or whatever and lead #but never actually has any intentions of doing so because part of the things he sucks re: is responsibility of any kind #he does however know that leaders dont like other people horning in on their territory so he will say things like #i'm gonna wreck your shit and then all your lackeys will follow ME! ouahahahahaha . despite having zero plans to follow up with that #the ideal engaging asshole protagonist is a rebel without a good cause: maybe he has a sad backstory; maybe he's just a dick #but if there's one thing about him you can count on it's that he is Opposed To Shit. doesnt matter what it is his primary entertainment #is picking a fight with it for no reason and then saying what the fuck ever i didn't care about it anyway (he didn't)#ideally this is all done in such a way that he is SEXY . but you'd never want to hang with him because he is deeply obnoxious #he is not bossy. he is not controlling. he is maybe even a bit of a wife guy except he hates everyone else and wants to make their day wors #because making someone else's day worse makes HIS day better . the ideal wife for him is the one from ordinary day with peanuts #by shirley jackson #and i have GOT to figure out a way to engineer this guy without copying examples of my favorite versions of him wholesale #i have the scaffolding. but because of my own confrontation-averse tendencies #im terribly concerned that i will never be able to actually make him the asshole he was born to be #q

i was trying to come up with ways to twist les mis into a breaking bad AU when i started cackling imagining a bold new les mis adaptation that was just 'better call thenardier' where it's literally just thenardier for 6 seasons and then in the last two or three episodes he talks to valjean for 2 seconds and then it ends

This is a very bizarre comparison since they’re from different genres (and mediums), but I have to say, My Hero Academia did “Most of the villains have a tragic backstory” a lot better than Once Upon a Time did.

#In OUAT it began to feel stale and forced by season 3 but I’ve never gotten that feeling with MHA’s villains and it has six seasons so far #I think the reason why is that most of MHA’s villains’ tragic backstories had actual thought put into them and there was lots of variety #While in OUAT it was mostly copy paste sob stories and basic “sad thing happened to me now I’m evil” with hardly any thought put into them #That is for later seasons of course it worked with Regina and Rumple in season 1 bc there was ya know thought effort and variety #Maybe this isn’t a fair comparison but I couldn’t help but notice #MHA #My Hero Academia #My Villain Academia #Anti OUAT #OUAT crit #OUAT critical #BNHA #MHA Positivity #BNHA Positivity
