My new painting "Therian"

Modern Therianthropy is categorized by a deep integral or personal belief that an individual is in some way and to some degree, a non-human animal, based upon involuntary, non-human experience. Physically, therianthropes are human and understand that they have human bodies. Therianthropy is an innate part of the person's life, and recognition and acceptance of the animal within. It makes us what we are, but more importantly who we are. Because there seems to be some confusion over what a therian is and is not, Therianthropy is about the inner nature of one's own self. Therianthropy is about the discovery of the animal within, that humans are born with. You cannot become a therian, you must be born that way. While therians are not tressing that Therianthropy is the only kind of personal animal philosophy/spirituality, they are, however, stressing the differences between Therianthropy and these other 'ways of life' or spiritual beliefs."

In a dream salty air pricked my nose. Gusty wind ruffled my fur. And I felt the sand beneath all four paws. As I ran along an endless beach my heart beat like the storm that raged off shore. And though I may be awake, my spirit will never stop running. This was one of my first dream shifts in the early 2000's. Proportions are a little off on the wolf in this sketch. I gave it a very short neck. If you would like to share, what is your religious/spiritual belief? I was raised Christian, but it seemed to focus on using earth as just a means to get to Heaven. The earth didn't matter. While simultaneously saying God had created everything. Would a God not care equally about all of His/Her creation instead of favouring one creature? It just didn't make sense to me. In Revelations there are animal-headed beings. There are verses about listening to the earth and creatures, but there is never any emphasis on those. There are Christians who care about the earth, but they seem to be few and far between. I consider myself an eclectic Pagan and polytheistic now. It seems like a majority of Therians are. Being Therian has helped me see that I am one with the earth and all other creatures. We are all unique and strong in our own ways. I was very much misanthropic when I was younger. This has lessened with age. Most people are good. We are all captives of a system the makes money off of us while destroying nature. Laws in certain places keep people from having gardens in their yards, etc. Thankfully, a lot of countries are working to ban single-use plastics now. My own province is moving in that direction. New, more earth-friendly products are being developed along with more efficient energy sources.
