Frat boy Harry Styles one shot continued

Part 1

Word count: 2820

Summary: Its been 5 days since Harry and y/n’s encounter and y/n is a nervous reck scared to face Harry again whereas Harry has been silently searching for her every time he enters a room.

I got a few requests for a part 2 of ‘why dont you?’, so here it is.

WHY DONT YOU? PT 2.

It’s been 5 days since the party, yes the party you got freaky with Harry in his room and you still don’t know what to think about the whole series of events. What the hell you don’t even know what ended up happening between Gab and Harry after Delilah pulled you and Lola from the group.

The last you heard from Harry was that cheeky text message he sent after the party, probably just because he was drunk, you try to convince yourself. You have to, because for some god damn reason you’ve been dreaming and thinking and practically drooling over Friday nights events.

It’s currently Wednesday and it’s your first day back with classes. Normally on your days off you’d be out with the girls most likely at the college cafe or hanging around campus, but not this week. For some reason you’re nervous. Nervous! When do you ever get nervous? you never do but for some reason this whole Harry situation is making you actually scared to see him.

On Saturday you complained about having a hangover and that you could not possibly leave your room. Lola and Delilah brushed that off as you did go hard at the party the night before. Sunday the girls wanted to go for brunch which you denied as well since almost everyone is at the college cafe on a Sunday and you still were too nervous to even face Harry. The girls were a bit confused as to your excuse of “studying” but didn’t question it and let you be.

When it got to Monday, you purposely stayed up all Sunday night so you could sleep all day Monday which was not entirely not like you but to an extent the girls were suss by your weird behaviour. You’re pretty sure by Tuesday the girls figured out what you were trying to do when they pestered you to go out to your favourite spot on campus to study all together. You struggled to decline the offer but you had to, something inside you was eating at you. You were too nervous to possibly face Harry.

It was Tuesday night though when Lola came into your room sitting herself on your bed flipping through a magazine and sucking on a lollipop while you sat at your desk studying. “Whats up y/n” Lola asks you all chill flipping through the pages. “Nothing much just studying” You mumble quite focused on your work.

“Hmm” Lola mumbles in reply sucking on her lollipop. “So whats going on with you and Harry” Lola asks completely out of the blue but quite relaxed. You turn your head quickly and sharply, your eyes directly staring at her almost in shock and confusion as to why she would ask you that.

“What do you mean?” You ask quickly. If you wanted to show you didn’t care and were not fazed by Harry, you were doing a terrible job.

Lola’s eyes raise to you, pulling the lollipop out of her mouth. She looks like she just figured out everything thats going on. She redirects her eyes back to the magazine as she flips through the pages continuing to suck on her lollipop.

“Oh nothing” she mumbles, “he just asked about you today thats all” she says nonchalantly.

You turn your body on your chair so you are now fully facing her. “What did he ask?” you ask her looking very intrigued to know, also quite concerned and confused at this topic.

For the past 5 days as you keep catching yourself day dreaming about Harry, you’ve convinced yourself that it was just a one night thing and although he probably will continue to annoy the living hell out of you on campus, he probably didn’t see your little hookup on Friday as a big deal. He is a player after all, and a good one at that. He has probably gone through 3 more girls after you. Although that hurts you a little bit and you don’t know why, it’s most likely the truth and you cannot let yourself think different.

“Oh would you like to know” Lola teases. You frown at her response as you now know she knows that your past 5 days of cover ups are obviously about avoiding Harry.

“Oh cmon Lola spit it out” you reply growing agitated inside as you are not a patient person at all.

“Relax” she mumbles, eyelashes fluttering. “He just asked where you’ve been, thats all” She finally answers.

“Probably just to annoy me” you mumble, rolling your eyes and spinning your chair back to facing your desk, continuing to study.

“Hmm I don’t know” Lola continues, “He seemed quite disappointed when we said you were at home studying even though all your exams are finished.”

You turn your chair instantly at Lolas words. “Okay Lola yes. Yes I’ve been avoiding Harry, there you go, theres your answer” You say getting agitated as you know she was waiting for you to admit it.

Lola stops flipping through her magazine and stares directly into your eyes noticing you are quite on edge and you seem quite nervous.

“Why though?” Lola digs, she was curious. Sure you have had a boyfriend and loved him and all but she has never seen you this nervous and uneasy about a boy before. Especially to her surprise, Harry.

“I don’t know Lola” you sigh in frustration. “Ever since Friday night I just cannot stop thinking about him, and I don’t know why but he makes me so -”

“Nervous?” Lola finishes your sentence and you nod and sigh agreeing with her.

You put your head in your hands out of frustration and groan. “Stop stressing y/n” Lola begins as she puts her hand on your back beginning to rub it up and down.

“Harry all week has been coming into the cafe or even looking around the halls or your favourite spots on campus searching for you.” She begins and you look up at her in confusion. “He thinks no one has noticed, and to be honest probably no one has because no one knows about Friday night, but Delilah and I have definitely noticed. It wasn’t until today when he asked about you when it confirmed our thoughts.”

Your mind spins in confusion. Harry looking for you? Why the hell would he be doing that.

“Just get some sleep tonight and we will wake up early and get some coffee before class tomorrow, sounds good?” Lola smiles softly at you lowering her head to see your face.

You give her a half soft smile and nod your head.

Lola grabs her magazine and walks out of your room into hers and you get ready for bed and continue to think about Harry and the fact that you have class with him tomorrow.

So its Wednesday and you’re already ready for classes walking to the college cafe to get coffee with Lola before your first class.

Walking into the cafe you smell the coffee beans and warm croissants instantly causing hunger to rise in you. Lola and you walk up to the counter to order and you find yourself looking around the cafe to see if Harrys presence is anywhere.

He wasn’t there though, and what you did not expect was the slight pang of disappointment that you felt in your chest. Why the hell are you getting all these weird feelings. Its Harry for goodness sakes.

You and Lola are currently ordering your drinks and little breakfast snack when you hear the cafe door bell chine and a continuing loud sound of football boys following with it.

Without turning around, you hear his laugh. laughter that gave you butterflies and your face automatically started flushing shades of red.

Lola turns around to suss who has entered and then she immediately looks back at you when seeing Harrys presence along with Niall, Louis, Zayn Liam and a few other football players.

Lola gives you a little pinch confirming that Harry is here, right here, in the same room as you, in the same cafe and most probably walking towards the counter right now.

You try to calm your nerves that you didn’t even realise were growing inside of you as you continue to recite your order to the worker.

“Hey Lola how’ve you been missy?” You hear Louis speak, bringing his arm around Lolas shoulder and casually leaning on her.

Louis and Lola have always had something between them, whether they would like to admit it or not, thats between them.

Lola gushes and pretends to act annoyed at Louis arm around her even though she’s secretly enjoying it. “I’ve been quite well Louis, and you?” she replies acting busy grabbing your order number.

“Good good.” Louis mumbles before his eyes avert to yours.

“Hey y/n, haven’t seen you in a while” Louis grins, an innocent grin though, he’s always grinning that boy.

Almost exactly when Louis spoke your name, Harrys attention was diverted right to you. He hadn’t seen you yet as he was a bit behind Louis and a few of the boys as he was talking to Niall behind the flock of footy players.

“Hi Louis, I have been a bit MIA haven’t I” you laugh nervously as Harrys gaze burns into your side.

“Yeah you have pet” Harry buds into the conversation causing all eyes to divert to him.

You look at him properly for the first time since Friday and god he looked good. All the boys had just finished an early training session you assume as they’re all sweaty in tracksuits and after game gear but a few still wearing their team tops. Harry especially is looking rather fine, his sweat glistening and his curly locks pushed back into a small bun that allows any of his short strands of hair to break loose. He was staring at you. eyes piercing into yours. Although you did notice he had a bit of purple bruising around his left eye and you couldn’t help but wonder if that was because of Gabriel. He looked focused on you and hungry for a response as to where you have been.

You smile at him, a nervous smile but a quick one as you realise you’ve been staring for a bit and the worker had just called out your order number.

You quickly excuse yourself as you walk up to the counter to go collect Lola and yours drinks and food.

You just about have everything but you struggle to get Lolas coffee as your hands are full. “I’ve got it” a voice comes from behind you, automatically you sense Harry and you turn to give him a sincere smile.

“Thank you” you breathe out before heading your way back to the group.

“Mmm you’re quite welcome pretty” Harry speaks lowly.

You wanted to ask him about the bruise but you didn’t want to bring up Friday nights events.

He puts his hand on the low of your back directing you to the group.

Your cheeks heat up at the small action but you can’t help it. Your heart is practically racing and your mind is spinning, all at the same time. What is happening to you???

You both get back to the group in a short amount of time and Lola excuses you and her because yous have to leave for class. A few of the boys share the same class so they suggest you all walk together. Your mind spins as Harry is one of those boys.

So now you’re all walking out of the cafe and through campus on your way to your class which is a lecture. You feel a sense of relief as Harry can’t pester you if you’re in a lecture. Well at least thats what you thought.

All of you arrive quite quickly and you all take your seats. To your surprise Harry sits right next to you preparing his stuff for the lecture, and when saying ‘his stuff’ it’s just an exercise book that looks hardly used and a pen.

You look next to you and stare at him in confusion to his unusual spot he’s taken. Harry normally sits a row behind you and Lola with Louis and the other boys in the class. Both boys would normally annoy Lola and you and throw sticky notes and little notes to distract you two. But for some reason the boys have all sat in your row, Louis taking a seat next to Lola and Harry next to you.

Lola shares a confused look with you but you both don’t say anything.

“What? Can I not sit here pet?” Harry speaks with attitude obviously mucking around.

“Well no you can’t since all you’re gonna do is distract me” you bounce back with a smirk setting up your stuff on the desk in front of you.

“Oh am I distracting pet?” Harry smirks watching you.

You shake your head at his reply as the professor starts to silence the class. You put your finger to your mouth whilst facing Harry signalling for him to be quiet for the lecture and he giggles facing the front of the room to focus. He giggled? What the fuck.

The professor had been speaking for about 20 minutes and you can tell Harry is bored out of his brains. The only time he opened his exercise book was to draw silly cartoons and write messages to you here and there tapping you on the shoulder for you to look. You would always tell him to be quiet but crack a smile every time he wrote something funny or cheesy.

Harry is undeniably bored to the max now and you can tell as he leans over closer to you whispering into you ear. “y/nnn” he drags out your name “I’m boreeedd” he whines like a baby.

“Shhh Harry” you silence him pointing to your professor as you redirect your attention to the front of room.

Harry then, very unsatisfied with your reaction, moves a little bit closer to you and places his hand on your thigh a little too close to the end of your shorts.

You turn your head to look at him with wide eyes and a frowned expression trying to signal to him to stop since you’re not only listening to your professor speak but you’re also in a room full of people.

Harry looks back at you with pleading eyes and fucking hell he is hot.

Harry continues slowly lingering his hand higher onto your thigh before reaching your core and starting to slowly massage you through your little cotton shorts.

Your body slightly jumps at his movements which causes you to earn a soft chuckle from Harry who seems quite satisfied with your reaction.

Harry continues slowly circling your centre watching you struggle to keep your cool.

“Where have you been lately pet?” Harry asks in low voice as he leans into your ear and whispers.

“mm’busy” you let out breathy as Harry is continuing his actions of rubbing you through your shorts and hell he’s doing a good job at it.

Harry quickens his pace a little bit causing a hitch in your breath. “Busy huh?” His voice melts into you ear and you agree with a low “mhmm.”

“Are you sure you’re not avoiding me pet?” Harry tests you as he presses his fingers harder against your clit and circling it that tiny bit faster.

You’re eyes roll back ever so slightly and you’re so thankful that this desk covers Harry’s actions from the rest of the class but you have to make sure your reaction doesn’t let anyone know what is happening but its hard to keep it in.

“No why would I?” you say softly and shakily.

“Mhm I don’t know, just haven’t seen your pretty face around recently and wondered where you’ve been.” hmm so Lola was right you think, he has been looking for you.

Harry removes his hand from in between your thighs and you frown in response. You look at him confused and he only smirks.

“Why’d you stop?” you ask him quietly and then you look around the room quickly checking if anyone has been watching you and Harry.

“Cause I don’t want to distract you love.” Harrys voice drips like honey as he smirks. What a bloody smart arse you shake your head.

You let out a little huff in response and go back to focusing on the professor quite pissed off at his teasing actions.

“Oh don’t be like that y/n” Harry teases as he pokes your side and you ignore him.

The lecture didn’t last long after Harry’s little tease and once the professor had finished, Harry and the boys stood up immediately as they barely brought anything along with them.

Whilst Lola and you were packing up all your stuff Harry lowers himself to your ear and whispers “See you around pet” and leaves you with a little wink.

What the fuck you think as your cheeks begin to burn.

Pairing: Yoongi x Reader

TRIGGER WARNING: DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY

When your boss told you about the business trip to Germany you were so excited you immediately texted Yoongi. This was a huge opportunity for you, enough to shake you out of the new slump you had found yourself in. The trip in and on itself was a piece of cake. You would fly out to Germany a Sunday to be there by Monday, manage a couple of new transactions and write a report for the CEO and fly back by Friday. Simple. Yoongi was ecstatic, so happy about this new opportunity that he couldn’t stop bragging about his wonderful girlfriend who had been promoted and would be travelling the world in no time.

This bragging was endearing and so you had been telling yourself since you told him the news; the problem was that you couldn’t help the tingling at the back of your head telling you that spending time away from him wasn’t what you wanted. You already spent a huge amount of time away from each other when he was on tour, but now you were the one flying away from him, alone, to a foreign country. You didn’t even want to start thinking about how much you would miss him, even less the whole week you would be sleeping alone in a strange hotel room.

Busy with packing and organising documents you just set your phone in the kitchen table and went about your apartment picking things here and there, double and triple-checking if you had everything you would need. Your laptop and phone were inside your little carry on bag and so was your phone charger. The one you couldn’t find was the laptop’s. You put everything upside down looking for it, looking even under the bed, only to find it rolled and tucked in a corner of your suitcase. The sunglasses were in your bag, so was your lip gloss and your purse, all your credit cards and your ID, your passport. You were double-checking everything again when you heard the code being punched in the keypad. Waiting just a little longer, you heard the pit-pat of Yoongi’s feet against the floor getting closer and closer to your room.

“I should have known you were packing,” he said, hugging you and leaving a soft kiss to your cheek, “you weren’t answering your phone.”

Giving him a guilty look you apologised for worrying him and kept on packing while he showered. That night you were laying awake waiting for the alarm to ring while Yoongi snored away on the other side of the bed. You would miss him so much, his soft snores and the little pout he made when he slept deeply. Noticing the numbness enveloping your head again, you turned your whole body and buried your head in Yoongi’s chest. He was the best buffer against your darkest moments.

Before going to the airport and against Yoongi’s moaning — “you have checked this already a hundred times, love.” — you checked everything again, turning off the electrical appliances and closing all the taps. You were really bad at saying goodbye and your boyfriend did know that. With a sweet kiss and several whispered I love you’s you took the taxi to the airport and silenced the tiny voice in your head that was trying to list every single thing that could go wrong.

Conference after conference you noticed how your brain got slower. You were alone all the time while you managed to do your job by keeping yourself busy and not thinking much. You arrived at your hotel so late at night that the only thing you had the strength to do was showering and dropping on the bed to try and get some sleep.

You were missing Yoongi so much it physically hurt but you didn’t want to call him. He was three times as busy as you were, even forgetting to eat or sleep if he got too hooked in producing a song. Calling him and telling him you were feeling numb again and that you wanted to hold him and never let go would only worry him. When he called there were two possible scenarios; you either felt guilty for not picking up and worrying him further, or you felt a sudden rush of tears filling your eyes seeing how you longed for him to be there with you. The slower the days passed, the stronger the urge to bury yourself amongst the blankets in the hotel bed and sleep grew. By Wednesday it took you nearly half an hour to convince yourself to pull your body out of the bed. Yoongi had given up calling and started flooding your phone with texts since he woke up until he finally fell asleep quite later than recommended. You were making him worry and that made you feel worse.

You found yourself getting distracted from the most insignificant task with memories from the first days of your relationship, how shy Yoongi was and how he wouldn’t call you after a day afraid that he was being pushy. The day he had opened up to you about how he felt and you both cried when you found out you had more things in common than met the eye. On Thursday your boss called you out for being absentminded in the middle of a meeting, he had caught you daydreaming about what Yoongi would be doing back home. You wouldn’t know even if he was already awake because you had switched off your phone, overwhelmed by guilt, nostalgia and the numbness on your head that didn’t let any rational thought go through. Missing him, the crushing sadness and the tight knot in your throat were making it difficult to breathe and function properly. When you got to your hotel room that night, slipping off your shoes and checking your work email on your phone, a notification pops up and you frown, opening your personal email.

Min Yoongi

To: [email protected]

Subject: I am desperate.

My love, you have stopped answering my calls, you ignore my texts and you’re alone in a foreign country. I know what loneliness can do to you and I only want you to be safe. If I don’t receive an answer to this email or any of the thousand texts I’ve sent you I am flying to Germany to make sure you’re alright. I just want to know you are safe, if not okay.

I love you with my whole heart.

Yoongi.

Tears had started flowing halfway through the message, making you feel so guilty that you closed the email and were calling Yoongi, not caring about anything that wasn’t hearing his voice at the other side of the line. The tones of the call were low reminders: you have time to hang up, he will be worried, you will only worry him more. But you pushed on, ignoring your anxiety’s voice and waited with bated breath until you heard Yoongi answer the call.

“Y/N, are you feeling okay? Where are you right now? Have you showered?”

You silenced his endless questions with a quiet sob and sat on the edge of the bed. Oh, how you’d missed his voice! And you told him while sobbing, how hard it had been, how lonely and sad you had felt and how anxious of disturbing him that you had gone back to not picking up the phone and wanting to sleep all day long. He sounded agitated and out of breath but you were so focused on not letting your anxiety drive you into a panic that you didn’t notice.

“Do something for me, sweetheart,” he was saying, now slower and calmer after finally being able to contact you, “get out of your work clothes and take a hot shower. I won’t hang up and be here with you okay? Can you do this for me?”

Your heart swelled at how he was still taking care of you from so far away. He knew exactly what to do when your thoughts numbed. He would always make you take a shower, drink some water if you couldn’t stomach any food and lay with you while his breathing brought you back. He was not pushy, he didn’t make you talk or explain why you were feeling the way you felt. He was just there, a strong dependable presence that kept you sane.

Listening to him hum to you about his day and things the rest of his friends had done, you went into the bathroom and undressed slowly. You sat a short bit on the toilet lid and just listened to his voice until you almost smiled at some funny thing Jungkook told him to tell you. In a better mood, you entered the shower and let the spray run down your head, the hot water untangling the many knots on your back and shoulders. You imagined that the heat from the shower was a hug from Yoongi, a warm embrace that you could feel through the distance and you loved him even more than you thought possible. Hearing him still talking while worked away at his keyboard made you smile and you switched off the water, getting out and covering your body with a huge white fluffy towel.

“You’re finished, my love?” He asked and your heart swelled again.

“Yes. And I’m feeling much better, Yoongi. You’re the best.”

“Well, your day with me isn’t over, missy. Now, I have a ton of new songs separated into genres that I want you to listen to while you lay on the bed and we talk until you fall asleep, okay? Tomorrow, before you know it, you will be back here with me and I’ll be able to hug you to sleep. Is this good enough for now?” He whispered into your ear, as if unsure if you wanted that, but as always he knew perfectly what you needed.

Wearing your pyjamas and under the blankets of the huge bed, Yoongi played songs, melodies, beats, anything he was preparing for release or working on. You two chatted away about where would you go once you could go on vacation together and you fell asleep with a smile on your lips hearing the man you loved telling you he loved you back and finally feeling comfortable and safe again.

I feel a lot better today. I was still really tired this morning. But after letting myself sleep until almost 11 I felt much better. I still have some ear pain, but I dont feel so sad.

I had an easier time falling asleep last night. I woke up at 7 to decide if I was going to work. Well not really. I told them yesterday I wasnt coming in, but my manager confused me about checking in, so I just sent a text I would be back on monday.

As of right now I think Im going to try to stick it out. I dont want to. But I am going to force the issue about the hours and we are having one on one meetings this week. I have a paper to fill out and right now its all the negative feelings Im having. But Im going to sleep on it and not just send it out of anger. I know its not so bad. Im just exhausted and changing my hours will help. Like I told my coworkers, they are either going to lose me 2 hours a day, or lose me completely. I want to make it work I think. Its going to be on them a bit really.

After I sent that text I slept until 11 like I said. I got up and felt alright. It was very cold in here. Its supposed to be a little nicer the next couple days so thats cool. But it was very cold in here. I got washed up and put on a hoodie and basically sealed off our bedroom and my studio. We had the heater on in the dungeon and the livingroom. Which was still cold but it wasnt an ice box like the other rooms were.

I spent some time on the couch in the dungeon, playing animal crossing. Enjoying James company. I was tired, but because I was so cold I never actually napped. I just laid around.

In the middle of the afternoon I felt pretty good and decided to go for a walk. See if our walgreens had new squish (they did not) and just take a walk. Enjoy a podcast.

So thats what I did. My big coats were in storage so I wore James's coat. It was sunny, but very windy, outside. I had a nice time wandering around. But after a half hour I headed home.

Ran into our neighbor Nick, weirdly he had the same swollen ear. Maybe its allergies?? He offered to do acupuncture on me. Which I may take him up on for the experience. It was nice petting Kia the dog though.

I felt a lot better once I was home. I cleaned. Put some stuff away. Laid on the couch. Worked on the form that work wanted me to fill out. Wrote out a lot of upset feelings. Decided not to send it. James went for a bike ride and brought the mail in.. I was very excited about my rose bulbasaur and my toddler duck!!! Both so cute. And once James was back and it was getting late we decided to order tacos.

He biked to get our food. Stopped at a different walgreens to check for squish (nope). And then home.

Dinner was very good. We talked and watched videos and eventually I took a hot bath. My psoriasis is really bad right now. I bought some strong, unscented lotion I hope will help a little. I painted my toes. And now me and James are in bed. We have one of the space heaters in here so its not as bad. But its still pretty cold.

Tomorrow I am going to go for a drive. Go to savers. And then in the afternoon Im supposed to go to the park with Gaby and Lane. I am looking forward to that. I hope we all sleep well tonight. Take care of yourselves. Goodnight!

“Y/n L/n IT IS 2:17AM DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA--” Your mother screams, pacing in the kitchen, while your dad scowls beside her. You sit at the dinner table, numbly listening to their tirade. You’re still half asleep, and tired from earlier.

You’d fallen asleep at Jungkook’s earlier that night, and woken up when he’d rolled over in his sleep, and flopped on top of you. In the moment it was funny, until you read the clock that glowed “2:10am” in ominous white lettering.

“JUNGKOOK I-AGDHGDJ” You’d screamed, pushing him off and springing from the bed. He sat up, hair sticking up in all directions as you hopped around his room, desperately tugging your jeans on.

“What?” His voice was deep and grumbly as he rubbed his eyes and tried to process the situation. His eyes finally settled on the clock, and he gasped and dashed out the door, “MEET ME IN THE CAR!!!” He screamed, scrambling for the keys.

The two of you hit 70 in a 25, managing to get you home by 2:15, saving about 8 minutes on your usual drive time. You kissed him one more time before getting out of the car, trying to savor one last good moment before you met your bitter end. “I love you forever Y/n,” He smiles, stress evident in his tense body.

“I love you forever too Jungkook.” You sighed, facing the house, having accepted your impending doom. The second the door had closed behind you, the lights came on and the screaming began.

By 2:45 your parents decided they had enough and sent you swiftly to bed, but not before taking your phone and sentencing you to 2 weeks of being grounded.

You lied in bed, emotionally drained as you stared at the ceiling. But even then, you couldn’t help but smile. You really did love him.

You grin scrolling through your messages. It was 7:45am on a monday, and you’d just gotten your phone back. You’d spent the weekend without electronics, and with plenty of housework. You still had two weeks of house arrest, but you would get to see your friends at school, and keep your phone, so things were already looking up. Your parents didn’t know you lost your v-card, so they didn’t really have anything against Jungkook except for him keeping you out too late.

“What the fuuuuck,” Jungkook whines pulling you in by the hips and kissing you, pressing you against him.

“Sorry, my parents took my phone.” You grin, ruffling his hair and getting in the car.

“God I thought I was bad in bed or something, you really did a number on my insecurity this weekend,” He grins, taking the car out of park.

Walking through school felt different now. You felt dirty and exposed. You felt like everybody knew what you did that weekend. Walking down the halls hand in hand with Jungkook, you usually got some stares, but now it felt like all eyes were on you. Jungkook seemed fine, unbothered even. As he should of course, and as you should too. You just couldn’t shake that unsettled feeling though.

Eventually that feeling left, and a feeling of pride took its place. You were his girl, the person he decided was worthy enough to be his first. Telling your friends really gassed you up.

“Y/N YOU WHAT?!” Lisa was screaming. You guys were between classes and you couldn’t really think of a good time to tell them, so you figured now was as good as any. “You got dicked down? Like all the way down?!” Lisa whispered, eyes wide. “Yeah! Do you guys hate me?” You grin nervously.

“No! Just don’t ditch us for booty calls,” Jisoo grins and nudges you. The three of you laugh while you give them details as you walk to your next class. You’re caught up in the story before somebody runs into you, jolting you from your thoughts. You look back in annoyance to see who the perpetrator was. Mark Tuan just hurries off, ignoring you. “Hey, ignore him. You’re Jeon Jungkook’s squeeze now, we have more important things to think about.” Jisoo laughs, grabbing your arm and tugging you down the hallway.

Jungkook was still a part of our group I guess. Bam and Taehyung jumped on the chance to talk to him again after things had been tense the last few weeks. Jungkook texted them and asked if we could all hang after lacrosse, so of course that meant I had to wait after school til 5 for them.

Roaming the empty halls I scroll through instagram, trying to occupy my headspace. I really had been enjoying my guy time recently, but I can’t lie, I do miss my time with Y/n. After school hot chocolate and homework had become a fixture in my life, like she had been. It felt like there was a big empty hole where she used to be, in my house and in my head.

“Mr. Tuan,” Mr. Atkinson’s voice rips me from my thoughts.

“Yes sir?” I turn, pocketing my phone.

“Wanna take a walk?” Atkinson approaches, not really giving me a choice. We both walk in silence for a minute or so, our footsteps echoing down the halls. “Have you been alright recently? You and Y/n don’t talk anymore, and you’ve fallen in with a..lesser crowd.” His voice is light, but I can hear the more serious tone beneath.

“Yeah, people just..grow apart.” I shrug, shoving my hands in my pockets.

“Yeah but you and y/n didn’t. Or at least she didn’t. I know there’s more. Now, I don’t expect you wanting to talk to your washed up teacher about your personal life, but you should talk to her. Or someone.” He’s right. I sigh, nodding.

“What do I say?” My voice is quiet, ashamed.

“It never hurts to start with sorry.”

You lay on your bed, scrolling through your phone on a break from homework. Your break had already taken 2 hours, oops. Suddenly a picture of Mark doing a double chin fills up your home screen while your phone buzzes, signaling a call from your old friend. It had been a hot minute since you’d gotten a call from him; it had been a hot minute since you’d gotten any kind of formality from him in general.

“Hello?” You slowly hit the green button.

school this week seemed to go well for julia. on monday she was still kinda mad when i picked her up, teacher said she had some emotional moments. but on tuesday she was pretty even tempered when i got her. why you ask??? because she took a nap. lol. they told us they could bring a stuffie OR blanket for quiet/nap time and when i asked julia she said a stuffie. but on monday she was upset and didnt nap because other kids had blankets (stupid me trying to follow the one item request)... so on tuesday i sent her with a blanket, she napped. and she was in such a better mood. so thats cool! we dont nap at home much anymore but it makes sense for her to take that opportunity at school because school is a lot more stimulating for her. today was her half day and it went well.. she was a bit grumpy when i got her (fucking with my confidence lol but i guess this isnt an uncommon issue) but we got a happy meal and had a somewhat good afternoon until she started melting down, didnt want my consoling, and fell asleep in her bed... so.... maybe naps are back for school days, even the half days. i'm just gonna take it by ear. tomorrow i have a kinda scary dr appt (for me) that i'm feeling anxious about. hopefully all goes well but blah. we'll see.

WARNING: Death Mention

You sit on the deep windowsill, knees pulled up against your chest, chin resting atop your knees, eyes focused on the rain pounding against the pane of cool glass.

You sigh, breath fogging up the glass for a second, and you wonder if when it fades, you’ll be able to see through the rain to the intersection only five blocks away. The heavy rain obscures it, but on good days, you can spot it, watch the cars ramble past as though nothing matters.

For a moment, you think you smell pine and rosemary, a combination that shoots hope through you, and, despite everything, despite the memories, despite the old gown hanging in the back of your closet, you shut your eyes and let yourself pretend that Newt’s here, just in the other room mixing you a cup of tea with honey, waiting to curl up on the other half of the ledge and discuss your future the way you used to. For that moment, it’s like he never left. You breathe in again, begging the air for one more waft of the familiar scent, but the smell is gone as quickly as it appeared.

A sharp twinge of pain shoots through your chest, reopening old wounds you sewed shut a few months before. Unfortunately, you’ve never been good at sewing and your stitches tear out with any small prick of a memory.

Tears well up in your eyes, but a smile drifts onto your lips when the small puppy you’d adopted with Newt hops onto the ledge, licking at your foot before curling into a ball, tiny nose pressing against the pane, huffing small clouds onto the glass.

You peer back out at the rain, letting it transport you, letting it take you back to back the first time you’d met Newt: a sunny day that flipped on its side faster than you’d ever seen.

You’d been wandering the town, trying to find a very specific shoe store recommended by your friend when he bumped into you, apologizing quickly, starting to walk away, but stopping when he saw your expression. “Sorry to bother, but do you need help?”

“I’m looking for a store, but I think I might be a little lost.” You’d admitted it with a quiet, ashamed smile, one directed at the ground. “I’ve just moved here for a job that I begin on Monday; I’m going to be late tomorrow if I don’t figure out these twisted streets.”

With that, he’d grinned a nervous half-grin that could melt the hardest heart. “I’m Newt.”

“A pleasure.” You’d murmured, introducing yourself and waiting for his next directive, but before he could say another thing, rain was falling, heavy drops bursting open on the crowns of your heads, plopping against the sidewalk. Newt grabbed your arm, tugging you toward him, and you’d followed him under an awning without hesitation. There was something about him even then that was dragging you in, intoxicating you.

“It was just sunny. How’s it already raining?” You’d asked, brushing water droplets from your hair, blushing when he gently knocked one from your cheekbone with a simple flick of his finger.

“This is London. A bit of sun means nothing.” Oh, he’d had the most charming smile, one that crinkled his eyes. When he laughed, his nose had scrunched up the tiniest bit, and your heart had dropped in your chest. The one.

A curse, those words. What do people know about fate except that it gives only to take away? The memory fades as the words echo in your empty chest. You had truly believed them, truly thought you’d found your forever.

Lightning flashes just outside, and thunder follows close behind it, shaking the house. You shake your head, lips parted as you sigh and pull a silver ring off your finger, spinning and twisting it so the dim light glimmers off of it, casts small refractions against the wall. Your dog perks up, eyes following the light, and you continue the movement, giving him a small moment to play as you stare down at the ring.

It’s old, a ring bought on a trip to Venice, found in a drawer in an antique store. You’d caught your breath when you’d noticed it among the useless baubles and costume jewelry.

Newt had gravitated toward you, hands landing on your waist. “You should buy it.”

You snorted then as you do now. Ridiculous. The thing cost a fortune, far too much for you to afford back then. “Don’t be absurd. I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“It’s expensive, Newt.”

He’d smiled at that, taking the ring from you, his soft hand brushing your own. “Then allow me.”

You’d grabbed for it, but he’d just slid his hand into yours, lacing his fingers through yours and holding it at his side. The gesture paused your attack. You’d held hands before, but never so casually in public. Newt had always been more reserved, against any sign of affection in public outside of adoring looks. So when he’d paid for the ring, walked through the shop, and led you outside without letting go of your hand, you were amazed. The one. He’d grinned when he saw the rain pouring from the sky.

“So much for a lovely date.”

“Don’t you like the rain?”

He’d looked at you then with that calm gaze, one you’d come to understand was the way he looked at anyone he loves. It sent a warmth creeping through your chest and stomach. “I enjoy it, yes. Do you?”

You’d thought back to first meeting him, then the picnic ruined by a sudden storm in Scotland, and the time he’d first kissed you in a slight drizzle after asking. “I know it isn’t perfect, but I’d rather not wait another week, if that’s all right with you.”

You’d smiled at him, considering his question about the rain, then answering his question honestly. “I love the rain, too.”

And you did. Still do, if you’re being truthful. There’s not much you wouldn’t do to remember the pleasant times, the times in your life where you were truly happy, truly living, while at Newt’s side.

With every rainy day, you can remember them, close your eyes and pretend you’re back to when Newt’s wet hands landed on your cheeks and gently tugged you forward to meet his lips, can pretend it’s the same day as when you shrieked as the downpour drenched your food and you pulled Newt to shelter.

But with every rainy day, with every day that’s even cloudy, you can’t block out the worst of it all.

You received the news on a Tuesday. His mother was on the phone, saying she knew he would want to tell you first. So you went out shopping, bought yourself a new dress that would fit well for the day, knowing he would agree that’s it perfect if he saw it. Newt had a way of being sweet without even meaning to.

You got in your car five days after the phone call, on a dreary Sunday afternoon, and drove five miles out. Everyone was mingling, waiting for the service to begin. You found yourself the seat reserved next to his mother, sat next to her, squeezed her hand. “It’ll be all right.” No, it wouldn’t, you knew, but Mrs. Scamander didn’t need to know.

The priest talked and talked and talked, reading from his bible, looking at the crowd, smiling, but it was wrong. It was all wrong. You’re not supposed to be sitting here. You’re supposed to see him standing at the end of the aisle, running a hand over his face when you turn toward him; he’s supposed to be wiping away tears, Pickett poking up from his pocket and pinching his arm in celebration. He’s not supposed to be carried up. People aren’t supposed to give speeches during the ceremony, that’s supposed to happen after.

You listened to story after story, comparing them to the ones in your head, the ones you cherished above everything, and you find that none of them could match the stories you share with him.

A light drizzle started during the ceremony, seeping through your shoes and wetting the sleeves of your coat. The ground turned to mud, and guests’ shoes made ugly shlooping noises as they stomped up to the newly filled hole in the ground. You know if Newt were there next to you, he’d nudge you, tell you how lucky he is that even the angels would cry for him. That if he were next to you, he’d be doing whatever he could to drive the tears in your eyes away, rubbing them away with his thumbs, making joke after joke until you smiled. But he wasn’t next to you, and no amount of condolences from mere acquaintances could have even a smidge of the effect Newt had.

You stayed there even after Theseus led Mrs. Scamander away, cradling her sobbing body with one arm. “He’s happy somewhere, mum.”

Theseus, a strong man. You’re grateful for him when he returns to see you, sitting in the mud next to you, eyes not lingering on the way you wrap an arm around the tombstone, the way you let the rain soak into your skin. You stayed there in silence. Newt wasn’t around to pull you from the rain, to drag you away and laugh with you, and Theseus was grieving himself. So the two of you sat there until you both ran out of tears, and, when that happened, you got in your cars and drove home, fully awake but also fully numb.

You forgot the next few days, forgot what had occurred, didn’t realize anything was amiss at the beginning of the day until you crawled into the case and it was barren, Newt not there. Newt not anywhere you could reach. Then it’d all swing back and you’d weep, sitting down wherever you were and wrapping your arms around yourself until you could stop the tears, until you could imagine Newt helping you up, telling you it would be all right.

You stand, stepping off the ledge and crossing the quiet living room. Lifting a quill, you slide a piece of parchment onto the desk and start a letter. It will go nowhere, be sent to no one, but it helps. It’s like he’s here, talking to you, and when you write, you can sometimes feel the brush of his hand on your arm or hear his boots pound behind you as he rushed to bring an injured creature to the case. You smile again as you finish the letter and lift it. It shouldn’t help but it does and you let out a deep breath. Someday, you’ll see him again. Until then, you have quills and parchment and rainy days.

Love, it’s raining again. One of our days. I miss you too much to say, and I cannot wait for our reunion. Wait for me wherever you are, darling, and know that I will always carry you in my heart from now until forever. Xo, yours.

Update on Sam...

I'll be honest, I am preparing for the worst. I don't know how else to do this. My mind goes directly to the worst case always. Sam's gone out with me twice, peed and pooped a little, is drinking lots of water, but beyond that he is very obviously not feeling good and looks and acts like a different dog and friend then he did 2 days ago. I came home from the vet with special canned food with instructions to give him a spoon, see how he tolerates it, then give him half a can. He ate the single spoon but hated the half a can and after licking it a few times refused to eat it and drank lots of water like it was him washing the taste out of his mouth. The vet told me I can make him food using ground turkey or chicken, yogurt and white rice. So I went to the store around 9:30 and got the ingredients. He didn't get up to greet me like he normally would, and his look is of "I feel bad Dad". I made, cooled and then put it into a bowl for him and put it down on the ground. He actually gobbled it up. Which is good, as long as he keeps it down. He's now sleeping on the kitchen floor in the entry where the concrete is exposed and cool, his fave place to sleep. I usually sleep on the sofa, it's more comfortable then bed and I tend to sleep more chunks of 2 hours there. But I am going to sleep on the bed or perhaps the floor with Sam tonight just in case. I am scared Im going to lose him, and won't have blood results until MOnday, but I am most likely taking him back in tomorrow in the morning as I think he needs vet care at this point. The emergency vet they told me to call is open 24/7, but charges a lot of money, demands money up front, and the reviews are not great. Lots of angry and sad people who's pets died in their care so I am scared to death to take him there. However, tonight if he gets worse, I will have to take him there. I dont know what else to do. I am scared. He will be 10 this month. I just got freed to go back to life and work and suddenly the universe is kicking me in the balls. Last dog I had, Zoe, she died from a brain aneurysm in my arms. I literally disconnected from the world for several weeks after that. With Sam, I would probably disconnect for months. My anxiety-disorder and PTSD (which is built from the horrors like the above dog dying in my arms) have sent me into crazy places yesterday and especially today since they xrayed Sam and told me his spleen and liver are enlarged. I don't really want responses to this, I just need to get the words out because I am so fucking scared that my mind is going to the "expect the worst" place already. I mean, he could be at the vet for a few days and be his old self and give us 4-6 more years, or he could be gone forever, I don't know. I just know that if I had a way deal I would. But I only know how to post here since its near 11pm on a Saturday night. Please keep Sam in your prayers, mojo, or whatever kind of well wishes and healing mojo you do. And toss a little in there for me as this is ripping me apart. Tonight is going to be me checking to make sure he's alive, taking him out if he needs it, and hoping for the best but inside I am preparing for the worst. And I hate that I don't know how to do anything else except think negative. Ive had so many things happen with dogs, all bad, so I've kind of expected something for 5+ years now. I just thought I had 4-6 more years, now I am not sure. Thanks for listening. r

mom

there was a time in my life where the hardest thing i was going through was a high school breakup. i thought the world was ending, that id never experience a worse heartbreak than that one. i got over it and went back to the guy a few times. it was on and off. that was the beginning of my junior year, around september. come april 21st i received the worst news i could have handled at the time. my mom was diagnosed with cancer. now she never really told us, well at least me, she never told me the stage of the cancer. but it was rectal. they tell you not to look up that kind of shit because it will scare you but me, i dont listen when told not to do something. now, i probably should have, it scared me what i found, but also gave me hope. it said curable. they said long life span. so, in my mind it was all going to be okay. my dad took it very hard. i poften found him crying alone, and i cried too. we all did. my mom was the type of person to help anyone in need, she was amazing, loving, wonderful, generous, warm, any fucking word to describe an angel, that was fucking her. still is. anyways fast forward about a year, end of my senior year. i start dating this new guy, hes amazing, he gave me the world. i couldnt have asked for a better man. stuck by my side through some fucked up shit that was my fault. we had our fights, like every couple. he did some things that i didnt like but i pushed past it because i loved him. thats what couples do right? well, not even a year later i spent less time with my family, more time with him and his. i regret that every day of my life. ill never forget the first day of my new job my dad made me cry because he told me my mom thought id rather spend time with my boyfriends mom than her. i balled my eyes out on my way to work. i never wanted to hurt my moms feelings like that. she couldnt do much, she was weak and it was getting harder for her to do everyday things. that was november. come march 25. it was a saturday. my mom was sitting in her spot on the couch and my dad was downstairs on the computer. i dont remember my sister being home. my mom asked me to look at her eyes and tell me what color the whites were, they were yellow. that meant jaundice. i told my dad, we told her she needed to go to the hospital. she said she didnt feel well and didnt want to go that day and if she wasnt feeling any better shed go the next day. i didnt think too much about it, this wouldnt be the first hospital trip that month or let alone that year. sunday; i went to my boyfriends to hangout and have dinner. after dinner my dad told and said they were going to the hospital. we then drove up to meet them. they took my mom in the back, i went back with her as did everyone else. the crazy thing is, is i dont remember all too much. i remember being back h=there, them asking her certain questions that made me sad, like if she was sad, depressed, thinking about dying. i brought her up some things when we went, i had this pair of ankle fuzzy sicks that i gave to her, she asked me to put them on her feet, i remember there being a hole in the big toe, she thought it was funny. it got later, they ended up admitting her but were trying to find a room. my dad had to work the next morning and i hadnt started my new job so i told him i would stay with her that night so she wasnt alone. they had a room in the pediatric ward so they sent us up. there were two cribs, a bed and a couple chairs in the room. i slept in the chair that turned into a bed. the nurses were very nice. we got some rest after being moved up there. it was very late, almost 4am. the next morning my uncle was up there and my dad came soon after as well. days went by, i started my new job, id go up as soon as i got off to go and see her. she got worse each day but we didnt think anything of it. turns out the tumor was actually starting to quickly crush her liver. she started not being able to talk well. they eventually put her on a heavy breathing treatment. she stopped talking and responding. my dad asked a timeline and the doctor said he didnt like to put timelines. i thought she would get better. they had my dad sign a DNR, we werent going to make her suffer if she didnt have to. it was selfish of us to want her to stay with how much pain i knew she was in. we had family up there always. april 4th. it was a wednesday. by now they had put my mom into hospice care, we had the option of bringing her home but we didnt want to make her uncomfortable by moving her. they gave us the whole room we were in. 315 bed B. we had people come and talk to us about urns and getting things like that. a hospice worker told us that their phone line was always available to talk on, whether it was a week later or a year later. i didnt have workbthat day. i went up to the hospital early. my moms cousin Colleen was there. my boyfriend came up as well. my dad my sister and her cousin kim came up as well. we hung out all day. i told colleen i probably wouldnt end up going to this festival i had in may because i wanted to be there everyday for my mom. colleen said that was almost 2 months away and that my mom may not be here by then. i didnt want to think about that. my mom would always be here right? that night me and my boyfriend ordered chinese. we were going to pick it up but they had delivery. we were also supposed to go to the store but we decided not to for some reason i dont remember. we ate our nasty chinese food. i got shrimp and lobster sauce, my moms favorite. we were all sitting aruond talking. my dad had ran home to let the dogs out since no one had been home in a while. anytime he would leave the room for anything longer than a half hour he would hug my mom and tell her to wait for him. he left. he got to the house. he let the dogs house. we were sitting there when my boyfriend looked over at my mom. her eyes were open. they hadnt been open in days. we instantly went over to her. her cousin got the nurse. me and my sister held her hand. i called my dad crying. all i could muster out was the word “hurry” and the pain in his voice when he said “okay” was enough to break anyones heart. the nurses knew. we all knew. i held my moms hand crying. my boyfriend rubbed my back. i told her i loved her. my sister told her she loved her. kim consoled her. we knew her fight was over. kim closed my moms eyes and like that she was gone. it was 10:15. we had to wait for a doctor to pronounce time of death. time of death was 10:25. my dad got there, tears in his eyes. we called family to tell them. his best friend was up in a heartbeat. his brother came up. i called my best friends. sarah and her boyfriend were up within minutes. my boyfriend held me. everyone cried. my dad hugged me and my sister so tight. the nurses were wonderful and sweet. it was probably 3 something in the morning when we left. i said my final goodbyes and told her i loved her. how could i just leave my mom in this room all alone? i couldnt handle it. i drove home with my boyfriend and let my dad drive alone. i dont know why i did that. i should have went with him. we got home and i couldnt tell you anything after that. i dont remember much about the days that followed. i know the next day we had to make phone calls to change things into our names and take my moms off. we received lots of “im so sorry for you loss”’s. it got sickening. we got flowers, cards, food. my boyfriends family was so helpful. i took that friday off of work and went back monday. got a lot of sorrys there too. her memorial was friday the 13th. i worked that morning. i shouldnt have but i had to go on like normal. how do you just go on like normal? how do you just up and live without your best friend, your fucking mother? she was supposed to be there through everything. she was supposed to live a long happy life with my dad. she was supposed to watch me get married and watch my have her grandchildren. she was supposed to be free of cancer and get better and live happy and healthy. she wasnt supposed to die. she should still fucking be here today. but shes not. months later, not even a year. my boyfriend and i broke up. just shy of a year since her passing, march 2nd. my friend and i had a run in with my ex. she flipped him off while we were driving. he followed us to the gas station and cussed us out. later that night he posted a story on his snapchat. black screen with the words “ your mother would be ashamed of you” written on it. directed towards me. how dare he say that shit. how could the same man that held me while i held my dying mothers hand say some dumb fucking shit like that to me? i dont quite get how he could ever in a million years say that shit. she was liuke amother to him. he was there through everything we dealt with, all the grieving, the sadness and depression in my house. but what bothers me is how a few months later we were getting back together. and how i could forgive him for saying that. i never did forgive him and i dont think i ever will. he said he posted it to hurt me because he was hurt. but how could he stoop that low. later on he brought her up again when he wanted me to stop smoking. “ how would mom feel” i tried kicking him out, ive never yelled at him before until that night, i got in his face and screamed not to talk about my dead mom. he didnt again. we stopped talking about a month later and havent talked since. he never understood what i was going through. what i am going through. i cry a lot. i miss my mom everyday. i think about her every hour of the day. my dad texts her almost every day. he posts on her facebook sometimes. i text her sometimes. i call too to see if someone new has her number. its still disconnected. i dont want someone new to have her number. thats her fucking number. no one elses. i still dont feel like this is all real and here its been a year and a half. christmas is coming up. her birthday is christmas eve. it was her favorite time of the year. we held the party at our house very year for anyone who wanted to come. it was always a full house. everyone loved my mom, she was an amazing person. a family friends words describing my mother to someone were “she had to adjust her halo when walking into a room” and thats always been true. even now, im sure she visits often. i wish so bad that she could be here, that she could see how everything is going. i miss her so fucking much and i just want my fucking mom back. i know everything in life would be okay if she was here. i know it would solve every problem me and my family have if she was just fucking here. she should be here. she should fucking be here right now.

The past week

So i want to get into the habit of writing down everything that has been happening. I feel like it would be good to see it all written out. So here we go. Last Thursday: mostly just work i guess. I dont remember much. Last Friday: work was crazy. Most of the office went to lunch with an old coworker. Said old coworker refused to do herjob towards the end. We knew she was leaving and she did notify us during her interview that it would be a temporary job until right before she graduates. Ok cool. Except the last 2 or so months she was with us, she majorly slacked on her duties. She would take personal calls on the clock, do homework on the clock, even do job interviews on the clock! She picked and chose bits and pieces of her duties and only did the things she wanted to do, leaving the rest for everyone to panic over, even months after she left because noone realised she didnt do it. Well apparently, she decided that since it was taking her so long to find a new job, she would start her own business, doing the exact things she refused to do for us, and charge over 3x the amount we had already paid her to do a job she didnt do. And one of the principles decided to hire her on as a subcontractor to do all of the things she didnt do... but he didnt tell any of the other 3 principals nor the current owner of the company... so ya.. not cool. Needless to say, since alot of the shit she refused to do got past onto me, im not a big fan of her anymore. So i didnt go. Plus I was crazy busy and needed to leave early. Dustin and the kids were coming up that day but before he could head up, matt had a psychiatrist appointment. And then Adam had an iep meeting. Psych appointment went well except they changed the dose of his meds and dustin didn't have time to get them before heading to my place so i told him to send them to my area and i would pick them up on my way home. Since i offered that, he also sent one of his own prescriptions up. Ok cool no biggie. Then he got a call saying Adam was suspended for the rest of Friday and all of Monday for fighting. Apparently the other kid has been picking on him for months, teachers didnt do anything, and he took matters into his own hands. Fine. Except according to everyone else (the other kids friends and a teacher that didnt even witness the fight) adam started it so he was punished. Ugh. Whatever i guess. I left work, went to one bank to cash my check, ran to another to deposit it, ran to the pharmacy to get Matts meds and.... they wont let me pick it up... told me a bunch of shit that didnt make sense. Yadda yadda. Ended up leaving empty handed. Ran to Safeway to get dustins meds, they arent ready yet so i grab some groceries for dinner, finally get the meds and head home. Had barely walked in the door and was not even half way through telling Mom about the prescription incident when dustin and the kids get there. Get everyone settled. Talk to adam about his behavior and warn him if he messes up even one time i will ground him to the spare room with nothing but a book. Realise he was only defending himself. And tell him he did good standing up for himself but remind him to never throw the first punch. Go inside. Get dinner started. Dustin and adam get into over adams behavior the past few weeks (it has been less than decent) . Finally get dinner ready for consumption and adam promptly drops his grilled cheese on the ground. Go to make him a new one and realise the hot pan was touching the bread bag and melted it all over my stove. Clean that up while dustin gets the new sandwich ready. Finally sit down for a nice family meal and... the kids are already done eating. We eat, go inside, start a movie, and matt comes up to me and snuggles into my side and suddenly my day is perfect! He fell asleep on me! It was so sweet! Saturday: wake up, get kids ready, matt and adam start fighting, dustin get angry, threatens to go home. Everyone disperses to calm down. Mom comes with us to the pharmacy, i get matts meds finally, he takes them on the way to walmart. Cant find the pants i need for my costume. I get frustrated. Dustin gets upset with me getting frustrated. I go to check another spot for the pants, thinking matt and dustin were behind me, realise only matt is, spend the next 10 minutes looking for dustin. Finally find him with mom and adam at the pumpkins. Hes angry (shopping makes him angry for some reason) adam finds a pumpkin, i find mine, dustin rushes matt, matt grts upset, dustin yells and storms off. I find a pumpkin for Dustin and wait for matt to make up his mind. Dustin comes back with hair dye for the kids??? Asks if instesd of the spray halloween dye, they want Splat. Adam says yes Matt says he doesnt know. Not sure why that made dustin get even angrier?? The entire time we are at the store hes angry. I finally get fed up with him snapping at me and the kids and i yell back. He ignores me all the way till we are back at the house. He dyes the kids hair. Finally apologizes. Things are good. Mom makes dinner while i work on costumes and dustin dyes hair. Spent a good hour trying to get the blue dye off adams face. We carve pumpkins. Eat dinner. And end up playing pictionary. Me and Dustin verses mom adam and matt. Matt continuously gets frustrated. We end the game early and go to bed. Sunday: woke up with a kink in my neck and absolutely exhausted. Go out for breakfast just the 4 of us. Go home. Relax. Watch a movie. Dustin gives me a massage. Make sandwiches for the kids and go to the park. Played some football. Dustin proposes jokingly. Then accidentally threw the football into someones back yard haha get the football back, go home,clean up the dye that is now running down matts face from sweating. And they head off. I relax the rest of the night. Monday: work then therapy for the first time in over a month. It was good. Stopped at a few stores to see if i can find pants. Cant. Grab coffee creamer. Go home. Proceed to have a mental breakdown over neon orange pants that dont seem to exist. Find out dustins aunt is in the hospital and unlikely to make it. He rushes to the hospital. Shes on breathing tubes but is doing better. Tuesday: work was INSANE!! Started my day with over 18 things on my to do list. End my day with 8! Not too bad. Go home. Finish shelbys costume. Relax. Bed. Wednesday: work. Never ended up getting anything on my to do list done. One coworker almost spilled the beans on a surprise for another coworker. That pissed me off. Got it taken care of. Then anoter coworker sent me a passive aggressive email about not having any paper towels in the kitchen and complaining that I locked my office door (where the extras are kept) thats a whole other post. If i have time ill explain alot more of this later. Thats pretty much it for now though. Guess i should get ready for work since i was supposed to be there at 9 and its now 9:06 and im still in my jammies. Oops

My First 4 Months Doing Uber

So I mostly created this tonight because I've seen all of the horrible things being said about Uber drivers during the strike yesterday and wanted to say my piece. I started doing Ubereats 4 months ago. I was excited to have a job, I still am. 7 years ago I was hit hard with chronic illness that stripped everything from me. I worked in music for 15 long years, eventually starting a record label, and up until 3 years ago was content in my field of choice. My health got terrible along with doctors putting me on a host of meds, and I had to leave the business. The stress was swinging me into pain flare ups. My engagement also ended around the same time. My heart broken, I was out on my own, in bad health with no one to turn to and no one would give me a job because of my health and I couldn't get disability as sick as I am because I live in the state of Georgia and they didnt expand Medicaid.

I was super excited when I found Ubereats. I qualified barely with my 1999 car and it would allow me to make my own schedule so if i had a flare up and had to be home in pain, no one would fire me. It also made enough money to pull me out of the hole that my engagement ending and medical bills had put me in. I started driving, very happy to get to meet people and make money in the city i loved and lived in 25 years, Atlanta. So, every day i would get up, drive the hour and a half there because there are no jobs in my country town and no one would give me one anyway with my health.

At first it was awesome. I was like "Wow, I can make great money driving and picking up and dropping off food", and I couldn't be happier. I was having to pull overnight 12 hour shifts after I realized there was no money like I needed on day shifts, which was fine, I adjusted. The overnight helped me because pain is bad for me at night and gives me insomnia, so early mornings are hard for me. Then, after about 3 weeks I started realizing the bad to the job.

Late nights customers are requested to come down in bad areas, and you cant avoid those areas, because if you turn down too many orders you get messages saying you've cancelled too much. You get order after order way across Atlanta on the bad sides of town and you either have to take them or not make money. It ended up being not so bad until I had to deliver to an area known for drug dealing and violence. I was scared to death. I messaged the customer to please come down for her food (she only had a few steps), and she came charging out to my car, ripped the food from my hand and twisted my hand screaming for me to get out of my car so she could kick my white cunt ass. I booked it away from there, called support and they just said call the police. That was it....just call the police. Where was my company I was working long painful hours for?

After that the area scared me, but I had to do my job. I started noticing on late late weekend nights, customers would order and not put gate codes, apartment numbers and not answer us or just not answer in general. I couldn't tell if they were passing out, falling asleep or if it was some scam to get money or food somehow the next day. I strongly feel that they place big expensive orders, dont answer, we have to cancel after calls, texts, putting the timer on, knocking and even calling support, and they call back the next day getting free food or money they never spent. I still feel that way.

The problem? When that happens, we get an email the next business day saying we committed fraud. If you cover yourself calling support etc, the customer gets mad and submits fake reviews. One late Sunday night I was working and it happened a few times, and I received an alert that my account was frozen and could get no more orders. Someone reported I was in a wreck I was never in and they wanted pictures. It was a busy night and was costing me, but I complied. I pulled to a lit gas station, took pics of my car and sent them over with an explanation that I'd had a few bad customers in a bad area. Instead of letting me go back to work, I had to drive the long ride home having only made gas money and lost $250 in pay after it took 2 days to straighten out. The same thing happened a month later when someone reported I was drinking and driving although I dont drink. Another $250 loss. I started to realize that the company I was so excited about didnt care about me.

Over and over these things would happen. Crazy things. 2 months ago my little sister went into the ICU dying and I missed a month of work, the weekend back, I was struggling to make enough to catch up bills I got behind on. That Monday, I received an alert my fast pay was taken away, that I had committed fraud stealing food. It was after a long weekend of overnight driving and I had so many people not bother to answer the door. For us, no fast pay means no gas money through the night. With gas at $3.19 a gallon in Atlanta, me doing 12 hour shifts and living so far away, it rendered me jobless. I had to spend 2 weeks begging for my job, sending over screen shot after screen shot of it happening to hundreds of drivers. Obviously something isnt right. Obviously if its happening so much to so many drivers something is going on. I lost $2000, the money to fix my car that 4 months of driving put 34,000 miles on. An old 1999 Mercedes, an expensive fix.

After 2 weeks they finally let me go back to work only to find out that pay was reduced, promotions taken away and gas went higher. I was in debt, had lost money and my car was now breaking down. It finally stopped running this week. I'm penniless, carless and Uber just says tough, not our problem. I'm back stuck in the country with health issues, no doctors, cant go do my job and will only make barely over gas if I could. Theres so much more....illegal restaurants in people's homes, guns in our faces, being called names, no help from support that barely understands us, but that's been my last 4 months so far.

Its been a while.

Ive been happy this past few months because of Bangtan. I can say that they are my escape from reality. Im also busy with reviewing for my NCLEX exam. It’s been tough. Really tough.

I work to the hospital from 11pm to 7am but I arrive at home at 9am and sleep at 10am then woke up at 12nn to prepare to go to the review which is 3hrs away from where I live. It’s in the city. Class starts at 4pm to 7pm but sometimes it ends at 8pm. Right after the review I will go to work. And repeat.

2hrs of sleep everyday. As I said BTS is my escape from the reality, they wake me up on my night duties, gave me energy to still attend classes and go to work even my body is complaining.

My exam date is scheduled 14th of september. I request for leave from sept 1st until sept 15th. To have a rest period before the exam. I read, answered questions and do fangirling on times I dont feel like my brain is absorbing any information, And here comes 13th of the month. I checked in in the hotel 2 buildings away from where the examination will take place. I still study the night before. I even read how to read ABG results in the morning of the exam. The day of the examination. I ate my breakfast in the resto and go directly to the exam area right after.

The security is so tight, Im full aware Im not prepared for the exam. I took the exam... Usually, I can answer questions really fast like when I took the local boards I always ends up the first to finish the examination. But this exam is different.

The pressure of the time, pressure of sudden change of questions from difficult to objective type of questions... I cant concentrate. I cant comprehend what I am reading. Even right after the exam... I cant remember parts of the questions. I can see that I consumed more than half of the time alloted for the exam and I barely pass the half of the maximum questions I should answer.

Right then I concentrate. I answer the questions without looking at the time. And then on 150+... my computer just went white with an announcement.

I know to myself that I did not pass because of my answers. I told my parents as well as mg family that I know I didnt make it. That’s when I decided I will not open any email that I will get from my agency.

Two days after... I waited for the result. But there isnt any news from the agency. Then it is monday, 3 days after the exam, it will be my 1st day back at work. Before I leave the house. I recieved an email from Pearson vue. It says that I avail the quick result. That’s when I know my agency now knows what is my result.

And because I cant be late to work. I leave the house and still waited for them contact or email me something. The sadness of knowing in my heart I didnt pass. I cant even concentrate at work. I talked to a colleague who also took NCLEX and she passed. She feel the same way as I do. And then, the agency who processed my papers sent me a message that I will recieve an Candidate Report from NCSBN after 6-10 weeks. I still didnt know what is the result. That is the first thing I heard from both agency who worked for the processing of my application. I searched for the Candidate report. I know NCSBN will send a mail after the exam. It will contain the official result of the exam. I remember on the review center they were joking that of yoi recieve a thin mail you passed but if you will recieve a thick mail it contain the report of what you did weong on the exam. But I need to check it. So I searches for the NCLEX Candidate report...

If you will get a candidate report it means you failed the exam. So I asked the agency who sent me a message regarding the candidate report if I failed the exam. They advised to me that I should contact my main agency.

I emailed them. And as of now, they still didnt contact me.

But I know I failed... And I dont know what to feel. I wanted to cry. I wanted to blame myself for not giving my best and for panicking. I know it is still not official because I still didnt have the result. But you know, I can feel it. During the exam I feel I wont pass. I ready myself from that day until now. But... I just end up not knowing how to react.

On the days after the exam, I watched a korean drama. I cant watch BTS because I know Im blaming myself from watching them instead of reading and answering. But what is the using blaming myself for my past actions? None, right? But I cant still help it.

I dont know what will happen if the agency finally email me that I did not pass. I can feel depression will envelop me again. I dont wanna think of ending my life again because of this. But I dont know how to stop it. Im thinking that crying will help me stop those thoughts.

BTS once pulled me up on my sorrow. But I am aftaid they cannot now... Whenever this exam pass on my mind I always feel my heart is breaking. I know God has a better plan but I dont know... I dont know if I can lift myself up after this.

This is hard for me because this will be the first time I fail. And I failed hard. I dont know if I can recover from this.

I hope so. Maybe someday.

First time dealing with car insurance for a 19 yr old?

I just finished drivers ed today and I want to go ahead and get my drivers license because also Lowes called me and want me to come in for orientation! Crazy day right? 2 good things in 1 day. Third day of the new year!

Went to hangout with ryan and leighton. They wanted to try marugame udon so!!! Also i saw adam but didnt say hi, oops. In any case. We were like hey let’s do something like walk around! But it rained a little so we bought some cuties from trader joe’s and ended up at ryan’s house and basically sat in his kotatsu for 4 hours then i came home. I also finally know how it feels like when the manga says that your legs get tangled inside the kotatsu. And when you literally cannot get out of it. Plus the feeling of losing the ability to walk because ya gurl tried to stand up after crawling out of the kotatsu and just fell back down What a day LOL

went to portland with alice to check out apartments!!! woot. lots of fun going around/looking at the city. landed on thursday night and waited at the airport for alice and ate mcdonalds/watched the office haha friday: alice had work all day ): so i went out to meet up with yuri and leslie who happened to be out in portland too! walked to the alberta arts district to eat with them at pok pok noi. just walked around afterwards exploring in the rain before getting back home to eat dinner with alice at like 8…lol we went to bamboo sushi in sw and alice treated me to omakase as a congrats on getting my new yob!! woot also did some walking around in the neighborhood - will likely spend quite a bit of time in the powell city of books! saturday: the day we actually went out to see properties! grabbed some blue star donuts and headed into nw district - looked at some apartments and then grabbed lunch at this cute italian place that i will most likely frequent. started talking to alice about stuff and being weak, i cried and then we got free hazelnut ice cream…LOL. it was really good sunday: since we toured places that i actually liked yesterday, we basically just decided to walk around different areas. waterfront park, pioneer square…we spent a while in nordstrom rack and sephora looking for stuff for alice! lol. then dinner again at bamboo sushi and dessert at salt & straw :> monday morning: waking up early to get to the airport for alice’s flight. bought more donuts at the airport for mom! then i sat at the airport watching the office and eating until the airplane ride where i got a whole row to myself~

and that was my portland trip shortened LOL. but~ excited about the new city, definitely excited about the donuts!

February 19th

My first day of work!! Went in earlies and had onboarding for about two hours with amother new hire. Then i returned to my room where i met my coworker and my manager! Both of whom are in the same room and we each have a desk. (Ima have to request a standing desk :O) anywayss. Got a company laptop - thank god it’s not bulky. And then i’ve got two monitors on my desk too! #bless

Then jlw went through more ux stuff with me and i also went to a stand up meeting. Like. Those are real man. Then went to company lunch! Where new hires introduce themselves and i realize that i have never used a dishwasher before and everyone was shookt lol.

Afterwards, i went to a sprint meeting AND BOIIIII PLANNING POKER DOE??? Lololol. I have to say i did not understand a single thing that was going on. Took about an hour and a half…

Anyways. went back in where jlw continued where she left off and then finally let me read some onboarding stuff on my own before she headed out at 4 and then me, leaving swiftly at 4 as well LOL

SO that was my first day! Trying to get everything in order - i hope that everything goes great and that i learn lots and lots! :> although…windows computer already killing me, no wonder people use mouses instead of the trackpad. Also…gotta learn Axure + in depth photoshop so…WOOT WOOT

I went bowling today!! It was an engineering celebration so i thought - why not, let’s be social for a little bit. And it turned out to be fun~ we had some fuds and i played two rounds.
