yeah,   yeah,   eli and demetri are cute,   but miguel and eli?   they own my heart now and forever.   out of all the bonds that eli could ever have and i want to see more on screen,   in order it goes:   eli/miguel,   eli/sam,   eli/robby,   and eli/tory.   i said what i said.
#out of character. ⁽ edie ⁾#don't get me wrong#eli and dem are incredible and they had a beautiful friendship but the show refuses to acknowledge that dem genuinely never accepted#that eli was growing and changing and tried to pull the hawk persona from him without a care of why it had happened or what it meant to eli#he looked down on him for it and it's why hawk turned all the affection he had into active hatred#and eli was horrible to him and you don't just move past that and go back to how things were. eli and dem are so so different now#and they need to fix so much between them. they can and they will but it's also okay to not go back to how things were#they outgrew each other and that's okay. it's valid and it happens and they can still be close without going in circles#eli and miguel's friendship is so important to me because they grew together and miguel actually saw eli for who he was#miguel was the only one who could see his friend even when he took the rage and anger and need for control too far#he knew eli didn't stop being eli just because he was putting up this front and diving head first into it#also the fact that sam and eli have so much in common yet have always been on opposing ends and a balance to each other? makes me feral#i need more of them because i know they can be such a good team and it warmed my heart to see them root for each other#sam and eli are so passionate and have the capability of being so raw and real and their fighting styles are the most balanced tbh#they've been everywhere all at once and i need them to be a duo and fighting together because everything they hated each other for was a#doing of their trauma and their fears and everyone else tbh. sam and eli don't really know each other at all#and they have so much to unpack and see in each other because i do think that they have a lot in common and balance each other#eli and robby whew so much to unpack there too and i just need them to not gloss over what happened between them#and same with eli and tory because at some point they were all they had in ck when everything changed#and hawk was loyal to her and cared for her and he was displaced and it sent him deeper down#anyway justice for eli and actually seeing ties that matter without him just being shoved into an old friendship

Double Trouble
A/N: An old drabble I had around and decided to punt out for warmup
Ace Trappola x Deuce Spade x Reader
TW/CW: Violence against reader, manipulation
Ace and Deuce weren't exactly friends.
And they made sure everyone around them knew it. They've never really tried to cooperate with each other more than necessary; always been more content pushing each other around and slinging insults at each other whenever they had the chance. They were no different from feuding rivals in a way. Frenemies, on a good day.
And yet, their temperament completely changes around you.
It's so small, so miniscule, that you don't realize it until Grim brings it up casually.
"They sure are soft on you, huh?” He drawls when the duo once again lets you get away with scolding them for procrastinating on their homework.
"I've no idea what you're talking about." You shuffle the worksheets into your school bag, careful not to crease any of the fragile papers. "They know Riddle would be on their asses anyway if he knew they were slacking off."
Your companion groans. "That's not what I'm talking about, [First], and you know it, mya!" He waves his paws in that annoying little Grim way and you know you're in for another whiny temper tantrum.
"You know if even that goody two shoes Clover-senpai were to lecture him, they would just shrug it off like nothin'!" His forked tail waves wildly. "And yet, they just listen to ya and don’t do anythin' bout it!!"
"Grim, I think you're exaggerating." You don't even dignify the angry cat with a comeback when you shove a tuna sandwich in his open maw.
You should've realized Grim wasn't overreacting at all.
Yes, the duo weren't friends, but they knew how to work together for a common goal. Unfortunately, you were the one who had taught them that all those months ago in that haunted, decrepit mine.
"Whaddya mean, you can't study with us?" Ace frowns deeply as you rub your neck sheepishly. Deuce wears a similar look with his fists clenched at his side, and if you didn't know any better, it was like the two were disappointed you couldn’t study with them.
"I told you before, I promised Sebek that I would study with him." You cross your arms, "It's not a big deal. We can hang out another time anyway."
Ace's frown deepens more and he and Deuce exchange a glance you can't decipher. A cold breeze winds through the stone pillars of the hallways and you wonder if that's the reason you feel so uneasy.
“It’s not like that guy needs you to be there, right? Just ditch.” You’re left flabbergasted at Ace’s crude dismissal. You open your mouth in a hasty retort but you get cut off.
“Surely Sebek can find another study partner if he really needs to.” Your head whips in shock at Deuce’s flat agreement. He was the one trying to be an eager honors student. Why the hell was he so against two students studying together?
It would've made sense if they were up to their shenanigans again. At least then, you would know it would pass with some time, give or take. But this doesn't feel like a badly timed prank, nor a lead up into a heist that will go wrong. If anything, it feels like they're trying to enforce something on you.
"What is with you two? If you two have beef with Sebek, sort it out with him." Your bag weighs heavy on your shoulder, laden with the textbooks and notes you need for your study session. "Leave me out of whatever mess you got yourselves in."
You turn sharply towards the library, wanting so badly to put down your bag for your poor aching shoulder. There shouldn't be anything else to address, and you thought you could walk away, and everything would be fine when you returned.
You thought.
One second you're walking and the next, you're lying on your side, bag strewn across the cobblestone floor. Ink bottles cracking and dripping ink everywhere, pens and pencils rolling away, and all your textbooks’ spines cracked open. You’re gasping for air, breath completely knocked out of your lungs, winded and sprawled on the floor.
“W-Wh–” is the only thing you can utter before you feel a presence looming over you.
“Jeez, prefect, don’t you know that you shouldn’t leave your back open?” Ace’s gloating voice hovers right above your head, and oh, how badly you just want to take his stupid mug and give him a good bash–
“We really didn’t want it to have to come to this,” Deuce’s voice following makes your entire body freeze. “But we don’t want you to get into trouble.”
Your mind runs through several swear words in a loop before you realize with horror that one of them is hauling your limp body up into their grasp. You try moving one of your limbs but only crackling pain greets you, making you suck in a deep, painful breath. A chuckle echoes to your left, and your bloodshot eyes flash to see Ace smirking his usual shit eating grin, hand twirling his magic pen.
“Nothing personal, [First],” He cheekily responds as he notices your pained glare. Warm flesh pulses under you, and it’s with rage that you’re face to face with Deuce’s worried face next.
“We’ll undo the magic on you later, but please don’t struggle.” He has you in a bridal carry, which is already humiliating in itself, but the fact he has the audacity to tell you to calm down?
“You…won’t get away…with this…!” Every word you utter stretches your ribcage to the point where you feel like it’s cracking open, but you would be damned if you were going to stay silent.
Ace laughs, while Deuce averts his gaze.
“I think we can, [First].”

I know I'm pretty late to the trend of making your own Rise version of this and that character, but if I may, I would like to introduce you to my Mona Lisa and Miyamoto Usagi.
At first, it was going to be Yuichi, but I'm too addicted to the comics and Usagi's silly behavior. He's not as much of a serious badass as most people think, trust me. As for Mona Lisa, well... I'm not sure how to not make it sound like a self insert, because it's not, but overall I really wanted to make her Hispanic for the sole purpose of her cussing people out in our native language. I know my language, I know my culture, and I like putting in references of what I see and hear in my day to day life with my family. Overall, the story I had planned I mostly centered around them.
After Usagi's master died, he was told to deliver an artifact and scrolls to a member of a "dead clan" out of respect because as it turned out, Mifune's clan was once allies with this other clan. The last place anyone remembers last seeing this last clan member moved to Hollywood, California. To fulfill his Lord Mifune's last wish, he leaves his country in Japan to go find this dead clan. The problem is that Usagi has only ever known about being a Samurai and nothing else, considering this is what he was raised to be. He doesn’t know how to function in a busy city or with other strangers. And he especially doesn't know about scammers.
This is when he first meets Mona Lisa. Usagi has just arrived in California, and the Yokais there immediately sniffed out the foreigner. Trying to get him to spend all his money at their store or over price his food, saying it's "authentic" only to be saved by the Salamander who puts the others in their place. After hearing that Usagi has never left his village before and that he needed to find a human with what minimal information he had, Mona saw that this guy was gonna be in serious trouble and become flat out broke in the next two days if she didn't help him.
That's all she was planning on doing, help him find the human and teach him how to survive properly in this new place. One thing led to another, and they find out that the human they're looking for is an action star actor who was last seen at the Battle nexus over a decade ago.
After both realizing that Usagi had to travel to the other side of the world in order to find him, Mona begrudgingly tells him that she's a bounty hunter for the Yokai police and that she travels everywhere to find who she needs to find and offered let him travel with her for a while up until there's a moment where they need to part ways.
But that didn't happen.
After sticking by eachothers side and going through all these adventures/near death experiences, they've basically adopted each other as siblings and Mona has promised him that she will get him to New York no matter what.
Unfortunately, through their travels, someone has been following them and has even placed a price on Usagi's head. With Mona being a Bounty Hunter, this person offered her a large sum of money in exchange for her travel partner. She refused and tried to get away as far as possible, not telling Usagi about her interactions with this strange Yokai.
The relationship that Mona and Usagi have is heavily based off of my own protective relationship with my little brothers. Including all the jokes and teasing and buying them ice-cream as a treat for being good.
I've seen a lot of duos and team ups of Usagi and Mona Lisa with other tmnt characters, but I've never seen anyone do one with them together (Understandable considering they've never met in anywhere, I think)
Please let me clarify that THIS IS NOT A SHIP. They have a sibling relationship in my AU, and I do hope you respect that.
I also want to clarify that this is NOT Yuichi Usagi, this is Miyamoto Usagi
Thank you for listening to my rant

ok I really want to talk about more of my Tazercraft headcannons more and I.have so many ideas for fanfics but I am not a writer. And plus its all very complicated to form words. But here's some scenarios that I have (this may also inspire some people if anyone needs some ideas)
As I've mentioned, Pac in my headcannon is a siren. I feel like Pac would every once a while turn into his form and just go for a swim, sometimes Mike and Richas comes along. But ever since he showed Fit he's a siren, Fit and Ramon also comes along and Pac and Fit even gets more romantic (I don't know how to explain but Pac would wrap his tail around Fit and they would hold each other basicslly) basically they would enjoying each others company while Ramon and Richas are smirking when they notice.
2. I don't remember if I explained how Pac can get his tail, it's by contact of water. Because quesadilla island rarely rains, Pac has a easier time hiding his form at the time he hid it. Tho it's sometimes harder to hide it whennit does rain, Mike helps him as much as possible but when rain falls everywhere it's not easy. So the only way to change back is by drying. Pac at times accidently touched water and Mike had to help Pac. Ever since Richas learned about his form, he will try to see it more, even by spraying Pac with his water gun (cellbit had to hide it after a couple times)
3. Mike is a creeper hybrid and creeper hybrids in my headcannon is known to be connected to plants despite how hostil they can seem. Mike has a lot of plants in his room, even Pac has a few in his whenever Mike and Pac shares a bed anytime they need comfort. But Mike feels comforted when plants are around, and he feels calm. When he was trapped in the ice prision the morning crew found him in, he wasn't concious mentally as he hasn't been around plants and warmer temperatures.
4.Mike will hibernate when winter comes, though he can stay awake and go on, he feels more sleep and is more sensative to the cold. Pac and Richas will visit Mike in his room and check on him.
5. Mike may not be able to be around cats despite knowing they aren't scary, his inatincts say otherwise. But he can purr like one. Whenever Pac can't sleep, they will sleep in the same bed and Mike will purr to help his platonic soulmate fall asleep. They know each other since they've been in the orphanage, they understand each other and gone through a lot. Mike will be there for Pac and despite them trying to live their own lives. Especially now that Pac is dating Fit, they still will stay over at each others homes and will hang out. Especially when Pac and Mike needs each others comfort.
6. Creeper hybrids don't explode like creepers can, but they have can be very heated when upset. Mike has shown signs of being upset, especially when Pac was taking, smoke came out of Mikes mouth. Growls of anger was heard, and if he could explode he would if it means he could teach everyone who messed with him and his family a lesson. Mike is as string as a çreeper and despite not being a fighter like Etoiles and Bad, he still is tough.
7. Pac and Mike are platonic soulmates that stuck together ever since they were young, they have been through a lot and they have gained the ability to mindlink, mindlinking is a rare ability for people who has a very strong bond to be able to communicate in each others mind. It can be different to person to person. But Pac and Mike will communicate even when they aren't nearby, though during when they lost each other, they both couldn't communicate and when they tried the emotions gotten too strong. When one of them cries the other cries as well.
But tazercraft has a bond that no duo has ever had. Even the closest of friends didn't have a bond that these two have. They will love and bully each other especially when Mike is helping Pac for his first offical date with Fit.
I hope u guys enjoyed some details about my headcannons with tazercraft. I am still new to sharing my headcannons but I feel like tazercraft isn't talked about as much as other duos. I may do some Bad headcannons next as if u guys would like to see them.

Apartment Arrangements
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Characters: All of NOVELLA
POV: Hiramatsu Aina
Warnings: N/A
───
The tension in the room was suffocating. Everyone looked solemnly ahead as they waited for Aecha to take her seat behind the coffee table. Once settled, she rested both of her elbows on the table and clasped her hands in front of her face, holding us in silent suspense for a few more moments.
“As always, it's rock paper scissors, the first three people with a matching hand are the first ones to lose, ” as if possessed, we all started warming up our fingers and wrists in unison, “are we ready?”
A chorus of “yes’” and “let's go's” followed, signalling the beginning of battle.
“Rock, paper, scissors!” The first two rounds were both fails, with everyone except Haeun going for rock two times in a row. Now, the nerves were even higher than before, and the members all became visibly antsy.
“Come on guys, let's get it together!” Aecha shifted onto her knees before once again calling out, “rock, paper, scissors!”
And there it was; Haeun, Aecha, and I had all pulled paper, meaning we now shared Apartment 3.
Haeun dramatically fell back onto the chair behind her, letting out a guttural scream as she went, and Aecha just sighed in disappointment. I wasn't really bothered, to be honest, but I wanted to feel involved, so I threw my head down in my hands for the drama. For me, getting my own room after sharing with Dambi and Nari for almost 5 years was good enough. On the other hand, the four remaining members were jumping for joy. Nari, for one, was currently spinning Dambi around the living room, while Eunjeong started to pray out of thanks.
The game was pretty much over as soon as their mini celebrations ended. It only took one more round for Dambi and Eunjeong to both pull scissors, which meant they'd share Apartment 2, and Sujin and Nari would take Apartment 1. Sujin grumbled for a bit, because of course she did, claiming that she would rather be in Apartment 3 than have to dorm with Nari (when I offered to switch she cursed me out) but Nari remained as unbothered as ever, 'oh, unnie~♡, you don't need to play hard to get!~♡'
───
⌂ Apartment 1: Su-Jin and Nari
If there were two members of NOVELLA that ‘didn't get along’, it would be Nari and Sujin.
Nari and Sujin were practically opposites, with the latter being a complete ‘neat freak' and the former being physically incapable of not leaving a mess behind everywhere she goes. Not to mention, Nari is very ‘annoying’- in a cute younger sibling kinda way- which never fails to irritate Sujin.
But despite all the fighting, Apartment 1 was able to adjust to each other in due time, and they've actually gotten much closer. Nowadays, Sujin and Nari are often seen teaming up during 'Neouivela' (their variety show), which has granted them the tile of the 'Backstabber Duo'.
⌂ Apartment 2: Eunjeong and Dambi
Unlike Apartment 1, Apartment 2 has barely ever fought. They're both very tidy and don't start arguments, so there hasn't been any reason to.
However, Eunjeong is much more extroverted than Dambi and gets bored easily. This often leads to her inviting herself into Dambi's room, which Dambi got really sick of early on. So Eunjeong is basically never seen in her dorm because Dam-Bi is too ‘boring’.
But EunBi fans are finally getting spoiled with rap line content (because Eunjeong forces Dambi to join in on her lives), and the EunBi ship has risen greatly in popularity.
⌂ Apartment 3: Haeun, Aecha, and Aina
Apartment 3 was the least desired for many reasons, but one of those reasons was that it would inevitably become the group hang out spot. All seven members are in Apartment 3 together at least once a week, if they're lucky, which means that the actual residents have to deal with all of the noise until early hours in the morning.
In terms of the actual dorm mates, Haeun is a great cook, which almost makes the ‘watching-kdrama-at-max-volume-while-screaming-at-3am’ thing doable. She'll cook almost all the time when she's free- She says it's therapeutic or something- but this unfortunately does call the other members to our apartment more frequently.
Aecha is a decent roommate, apart from the times when she'll make a mess and blame it on someone else, completely forgetting she was the one who did it in the first place. She also likes to just hang out in other people's rooms, which neither Haeun nor I mind.
The members like to joke that my dorm might as well be the Storybook building because I'm almost always in my studio, but when I am home I'm mostly sleeping in my room, so I don't cause many problems either.

MAKE IT REAL
[•••]
🍵- who'd have thought unrelatable romance novels can come to life?
🦋- [they/them for reader and he/him for camilo]
🍊(a/n) - yeah the writer's block is definitely kicking in as you can see,, also trying out to make a format for my fics hsgduhdj 🙇‍♀️ hope you all enjoy this thooo <3
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
It was an idle day for the typical chaos duo, it was surprising of how "normal" they both were. They usually messed around the enclosed town filled with busy streets, making stunts everywhere they went. Y/n strided towards the lively home of their best friend with a romance book in hand, which happened to be one of her favourites entitled "A bedtime confession" (wink wink) they read it over and over again, it seemed like they weren't getting tired of it anytime soon. they loved how the protagonist professed their love for the other who seemed to be such an idiot as well and fell for them too, it sent butterflies in their stomach as they twirled around before entering casita who seemed to be lively more than usual.
They sauntered into the shape shifter's room with a smile wider than normal, laying down on the boy in yellow's bed “What's gotten you all.. smiley.?”
Camilo noticed how odd the other was, in a different trance per se.
“Ooohhhh nothing....” they answered with a tone in their voice, still looking through the pages of the novel they held. The chameleon glanced at them with an irked expression, taking the novel in a brisk motion and sighed at the book they read once more “again? Don't you have anything else to read? Something more.. i dont know? Interesting?” He spoke, reading the text on the book before shutting it close “mind your own novels, your taste in books suck.” they respond, eye rolling at their comment.
“they don't”
“yes they do.
“stop lying you read everything i give you.”
“i don't, the books suck. end of discussion.”
They let out a tired sigh before seeing his smug face once more in front of them, the expression that irritated the fuck out of them, yet it was also the face that made their heartstrings strum a delicate tenderful melody.
“I'm just a hopeless romance with a love for unreal and unrelatable romance novels, so leave me be.” they dramatically answer before twirling around to get the novel back from the boy in yellow.
He watched their figure amble around him, letting out a quiet chuckle “what's stopping you? want to make it real?” he remarks with a timid tone
They stop in their steps, surprised with the words that came out of his mouth
“what? C-could you maybe.. repeat what you said..?” they reply, just wanting to make sure they had heard right.
He cleared their throat, his face heating up with a tint of pink and red as they walked closer to them.
“I'm tired of hearing you say stuff about being a hopeless romantic.. tired of hearing you say you want this to happen to you as you giggle through the pages of the same book you read over and over again.. if you're looking for someone or a man who's hand you're willing to hold until your heart stops beating.. Please, look at me.” he ends, holding their hands in his.
Obviously the "man" part was a little exaggerated but other than that Y/n just had a dumbfounded look on their face, their face was glowing the same shade as the other had on. “Camilo.. my gaze never for a moment left you. Not even a second.”
they answer quietly enough for him to hear.
Camilo let out a breath through a light chuckle, before drawing them in closer with his hands securely in his waist, the tips of their noses touched due to the distance they shared. “may i?” he says before glancing at their lips, stopping to ask for the needed consent “you're more than welcome to-” they were cut off with his lips on theirs. And so was so, His lips which they've longed for ever since had finally connected with theirs. The kiss had felt magnetic and let out a tingly aura as they held eachother in either's arms, pulling away after a few seconds
“you've been my first and will be my only last, i think im in love with you.” he locks his gaze on them
“pfft- you think?” they answered playfully, twirling a curl of his hair around their finger
“Let me rephrase, I am most definitely in love with you mariposa.” 🦋

SEMI BACK FROM THE DEAD PEOPLE
That's right! I'm back! And I bring to you CHAPTER 3 OF GUARDIAN MACAQUE AU
WHY?! Well because I couldn't sleep well and it's 5 am fuck my headache I give you content!! Fair warning: Macaque is a soft monkey especially to kids AND YOU CAN PRY THIS HC FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS ABDJFKCMCM
Some days, Biming would leave to sell the rice cultivated in their field to the neighbouring village. An oddity, Hóu realised. Why sell to another village? He didn't understand… After all, there were other houses in their village.
"Hóu?" Ai's soft voice called for the demon. Oddly enough, it wasn't her usual tone that came through her call.
Immediately detecting the shift from her usual beat, the black monkey jumped down from his position on the plum tree that grew in the back garden of the couple's home. The tree upon which the monkey would spend most of his free time on whenever he could. "You called, Mrs. Ai?"
"Oh! Yes, dear…" her voice dripped with worry - fear even. In her arms a red cloak, outstretched as if allowing him to take it. "Could you please accompany Biming to the town today…?" Her eyes glimmering under the morning sun with worry, begged the black monkey to take on her request.
Hóu, with an immediate nod, complied as he gently took the cloak from Ai's grasp. Hesitantly, the black monkey built up enough courage to ask the kind lady, her worry affecting his own.
"Mrs. Ai… is everything alright…?" His hand reached out to Ai’s in an attempt to comfort her as his eyes locked with hers, taking notes of the high level of worry embedded deep within her honey-brown eyes.
Seeing the concern in Hóu's golden eyes, Ai's tense shoulders fell as she let out a shaky breath. "Ling Fa… he warned us that demons moved in close to the rout Biming takes to the other village…"
Ling Fa… yes…
He was the family's guardian spirit… it was his duty to protect the family, right? Of course he would warn the kind couple.
By late morning, Biming and Hóu had headed out on the road on the small mule-pulled cart with their cargo safely secured. Ling Fa had stayed behind to ensure Ai's safety as he would not have been much help with manual labor.
Hóu rode on the back of the cart as his mind drifted off to the thoughts of the strange family guardian. They had previously met a couple of times. Ling Fa wasn't a concerning figure, in fact Hóu believed he was incapable of fighting due to his pacifistic tendencies.
Throughout the journey, Biming and Hóu held up a small lighthearted conversation, a conversation that seemed to have only lasted a couple of minutes was in fact just two hours.
Soon the duo were at town close to noon, Hóu couldn't believe how lively everything was! Carts and vendors and buyers were everywhere! If he was being honest, Hóu's entire world seemed to start spinning due to the overload of his senses.
"Welcome to the market, Hóu!" Biming said with a bright smile as he handed Hóu some earplugs. "They might not completely drown out all the new senses but its something at least… if you ever need a breath at all, then tell me and we can go to a more tame part of the town were we can rest for a bit"
Hóu's reply came in the form of a nod. However, even though his senses are over exerting himself, Hóu knew that he had to allow Biming to sell their crops so they could earn the money needed. So, the black monkey decided to sit right behind the cart after putting on the earplugs, mostly hidden from the front view as she observed how Biming bargained and sold his crops.
Eventually, daylight started diminishing as the sun was starting to head down the horizon, turning the shy a nice shade that reminded the monkey of orange peaches… something about the sunset seems to have upset the demon and he felt a pang of pain in his chest.
Upon noticing the sadness embedded on the monkey’s face, Biming decided that it was time to head home. "Hóu, let's go home." Came the familiar voice of the young man that got Hóu moving onto the back of the cart, and once again head off back home. "We should be back home just after sunset" Said Biming in an attempt to comfort his companion, which seemed to have worked somewhat.
The ride back didn't have many complications, it was a smooth ride back with a few conversations every now and again. Once home, Biming and Hóu carried their goods into the home as they announced their return, only to be greeted by the smell of Ai's amazing cooking as they sat down by the table to eat.
Biming was telling Ai how well Hóu had taken to the city and how well behaved he was. He kept on flattering the black monkey demon which got Hóu to stutter every now and again when he decided to speak up. Soon enough, it was time to head to bed after it was decided that from then on, Hóu would accompany Biming to the market.
His days spent here in the small farm house by the valley with Ai and Biming went by faster than he expected. And soon, they would have a new addition to their family in the form of a child between the couple.
The couple at first didn't know how Hóu would react to children, as throughout Ai's pregnancy, he had done his best to avoid her as much as possible without angering her. He however instead spent his time with Biming learning how to trade and sell as well as bargain and buy goods.
When their daughter was born, the couple found something they never had expected to see. That night they had awoken to the sound of soft cries coming from the adjacent room that Hóu had offered the baby to stay in with him so he could make sure that their daughter was safe from all harm. Surprisingly, Hóu had also swore it as his duty out of the blue one night before she was even born.
What surprised them however, was what they saw in the room that night. They had found Hóu gently cradling their small daughter in his arms. Biming most of all was surprised at how Hóu could be so delicate with such a small fragile being and yet possess strength strong enough to carry the entire cart filled with supplies.
Hóu looked over at the couple with worry laced all very his face. "S-sorry… she won't stop crying… she must be hungry!" It surprised Ai how well he knew how to manage a baby and how he could tell what was wrong. She stood there for a moment as she smiled at the panicked monkey before taking her daughter to feed her in the other room, leaving Biming and Hóu together in the room.
Biming sat down next to Hóu on the bed who seemed a bit anxious. "Is something the matter Hóu?" Came the concerned question from Biming.
Hóu's tail flicked anxiously like an irritated cat, he lowered his head and talked in barely a whisper "she's just so small Biming… will she really survive?"
With a comforting hand on Hóu's shoulder, a smile found its way onto Biming's face "with you worrying about her like this… I know she'll be perfectly fine Hóu…" and with that, Ai came back in, carrying their sleeping daughter in her arms.
Without a second to lose, Hóu was up on his feet to give the bed to the sleeping baby. But instead, Ai gave him the small bundle of joy with a smile. Something within him clicked that night, and for the first time he remembered something from his past.
A conversation?
"Hey, [~~~] why so stiff?"
"Because! They're so small! So defenseless! How can they survive?!" A chuckle rang out throughout what seemed like a cave as the sound echoed.
"They're children! Of course, they're small! But hey! They seem to like you!"
"I… I guess they do…"
"You know… if you're really worried about them so much why not take care of them?"
"Don't you already do that?"
"Well, technically, yes? But what I meant was you could watch over the little ones and make sure they're safe?"
"... alright, I'll do it!"
Hóu held the small child close to his chest, a stifled sob escaped him as a few tears flowed down his face and onto the blankets that wrapped around the baby. This concerned the couple as they barely see Hóu cry, in fact. This is only the second time they've seen him cry ever since finding him that fateful day.
Just before they could react, Hóu faced them. Face stained with tears but his eyes held a strong determination. "No matter what, I'll make sure she becomes big and strong. I swear on my life"
With his sudden declaration, the couple found a sense of peace and comfort. Ever since then, Hóu had appointed himself their daughter's caretaker and would help Ai and Biming with their daughter in whatever way he could. There had been countless times when Ai or Biming would search for their daughter only to find her asleep on Hóu who had her safely asleep on or under his favorite tree in their garden, sometimes asleep himself.
Such were the peaceful times, the days he wouldn't have to worry about much except for their family's safety. Nothing could happen to them, he used to think. Not until the incident.
Golden eyes fluttered open as he heard a faint sound of someone calling out to him. "I'm heading off to work dad!! Text you later!!" Followed by a door slamming shut and a soft ringing of a bell.
With a sigh, the black monkey sat up and combed through his messy black hair before getting up and heading to the bathroom to freshen up. Mi Hóu looked at the mirror and examined himself only to be taken back to see a human face before remembering that his life with Ai, Biming, and their daughter Chu-Hua had ended a couple of hundred years ago.
He had remembered everything since that time, and his true name is Liu er Mihóu otherwise known as the Six Eared Macaque. And he remembered that at this current time, he has a son. A son that he had to look out for in a world of hidden demons. But here's the catch, he can't let his son know that he himself is a demon even though he already knows about demons. Which is why he uses a human disguise.
"Another regular day of work I guess…" he mumbled as he heard the ringing of the bell hung at the door indicating that someone had entered their home, or to be more specific, his clinic. Little did he know that this day would be the end of his daily routine of curing demons and teaching at a dojo.

Alumni Band (Michael Clifford)
Tumblr media
Summary: Nellie and Michael were best friends in high school and in marching band. They reunite through alumni band. Platonic love.
Word Count: 2.1k
Rating: literally PG.
Warnings: me being a soft bitch
Authors Note: I'm back from the dead for .02 seconds. I wrote this while manic and haven't bothered editing it. Incase people aren't aware of what Alumni band is: it's basically just graduates of marching band getting back together and performing (usually.) I'm going off my experience, I literally just did alumni band in October (I was the second youngest.) and we always go to practices and then perform together with the high school band for homecoming games. Tons of fun. I'm also scared people won't like this as much because it isn't romantic and doesn't include smut. Fun. Enjoy!
I will probably make a second part in the future which might be romantic, but I'll probably stick with some platonic!Mikey. Double bonus, Nellie is a plus size character. I didn't feel the need to explicitly say that in this part. We'll explore that in the second.
The band room still smells musty and sweaty, a smell that somehow comforts Nellie Reed. It's been years since she had last stepped into her second home, but everything still looks the same. Chairs were still set in messy rows, music stands placed out of the way in the corner, and there are crumbs everywhere (despite the ‘no eating’ policy). There's a couple of new photos placed randomly along the walls, a disney world trip from 2018, the new drum major beaming proudly with majorettes. It brings back memories of her own high school years and how much she genuinely misses marching band. Of course she does, she wouldn't cancel plans for nothing. She only does it for homecoming week anyhow.
The rest of the alumni band seems to be taking their sweet ole’ time. To be fair, some of them are very old. Nellie has already paced laps around the room multiple times. Looked at photos. Peeked into the uniform closet, viewed the same old uniforms, and quickly shut the door before the odor could become too pungent. After all, the poor cotton uniforms only get dry cleaned twice a year and sadly they still smell like sweaty teens. She pulls out a music stand and takes out her piccolo to get some practice in. Well, that was the plan before a few frames beside the director's podium catches her attention. Upon closer inspection the first frame holds a picture of her, Kellen Loxley, and Michael Clifford at their final senior football game. It had been rainy and cold, both her and Kellen falling multiple times in the mud, yet the three of them were laughing in the picture. Her heart swells at the sight, she had never been so happy and content until that night. The second frame showed Hadden Beaupre's smiling face, she knew why the picture had remained there years after their graduation. He had died a couple nights before graduation after getting in a car wreck with Nellie and Michael. And the picture captures exactly how she remembers him, red curly hair spilling onto his forehead, freckles speckled across his dimpled cheeks, and green eyes shining brightly. God, she missed him. She missed them all.
Her introspective thinking is abruptly interrupted, “Staring at his dopey smile was probably your biggest downfall, ya know?”
She immediately recognizes the voice. She honestly believes that she could identify him anywhere.
“You're just jealous I stared at him, Clifford.” Nellie chuckles. She turns around to be met with none other than her high school best friend. Except he wasn't a teenager anymore and he definitely filled out his once awkward, gangly body.
“Me? Jealous? I could never.” Michael chuckles.
“Whatever you say. I didn't even think you'd show up,” She comments, “Let alone with bubblegum pink hair,”
Michael let's out a laugh, “Can you blame me? I know Jennings hates it and it'll be a good laugh. He can't make me bleach my hair like the good old days,”
“You're the dumbass who would dye it weekly despite knowing the rules,” She rolls her eyes. “I'm surprised you aren't bald from all the chemicals,”
Michael was trying to come up with a witty comeback when the double doors swing open and their old band director peeks his head in, “The rest of the alumni are on the field, apparently they still can't follow directions,”
The practice isn't going as smoothly as it did in high school. Nellie's section is filled with ditzy, forgetful thirty and forty year old women who rely on her to teach them everything. They forgot the very basics, but she's kind and teaches them anyway. While she's helping a woman named Janice with arm swings, she makes eye contact with Michael who is giving her a “are you serious?” look. She just shrugs and gives him a frown, because honestly, this sucks. Michael just smiles from across the field and it sends her back to their freshman year. It had been hot, both of them exhausted and ready to go back home, but they still found enough energy to mouth words to each other and make silly expressions. He looks the same, with dyed hair and his neck strap hanging to display his silver saxophone. It HAD to be silver, his fourteen year old self had claimed. It's unique, unlike every other boring gold saxophone. Of course the boy wanted to stand out, even his hair shows that.
“Will I see you at the game?” Michael questions after practice.
“Do you really have to ask?” Nellie gives him her signature smile. The one reserved just for him.
He chuckles, “It's not polite to assume things,”
“Of course you'll see me there, Mikey.”
The week passes right before Nellie's eyes, it feels that way, but she knows she's just giddy to see Michael again. The duo hasn't been the same since graduation, while at one time they used to be inseparable, now she's lucky to get a text once a month. It was usually saying about the same thing each month, “Hey, I hope you're doing well Nel. Hopefully I'll be home soon. 🖤” Except he never really came home until this week. She wanted to be mad at him, she should be mad at him, but she's too understanding for that. They're both adults with adult lives and that's okay. His adult life is just a little more exciting than her own though, a famous band, cool ass friends, and screaming girls willing to fall at his feet.
Nellie had a pretty bland life in comparison. She stayed in the same small, dead end town working as the city schools music therapist and occasional music teacher. While he was out touring the world and being rich, she was earning two dollars above minimum wage and eating microwavable dinners in her one bedroom apartment. She just wishes she could have the comfort of having Michael closer. At one time it was a reasonable wish, now it seems like too much to ask.
Michael is going to arrive at the high school late. According to the text that he had sent her. It's half expected, he was never on time to begin with and some things never change, she knows that. It isn't a big deal, yet Nellie can't help but feel a little hurt. She just wants to talk to him while getting ready, but the man is nowhere to be found and she's surrounded by strangers again. Not how she wants her night to go and definitely not what she had pictured happening. She had pictured getting there early together and having half of the evening to fool around and act like teenagers again, he had other priorities in place though. And she is definitely not one of them.
Nellie glances down at her phone for what feels like the hundredth time tonight. He hadn't bothered texting her again and there's only twenty minutes until pregame. And while she loves her best friend, she can feel anger and disappointment stirring up deep in her chest. Michael had spent the past few days texting her consistently and talking about how excited he was to relive his old marching band days. How excited he was to spend the evening right along with her. The least he could do is actually fucking show up and she's not sure that he even would. So, she lines up for pregame with the flutes and tries to rid herself of the negative emotions. This is a night for fun and remembering why she was so passionate about music in the first place.
Pregame is still hell. It's not particularly long or challenging, but it's still tiring in its own way. It's only when the band is marching off the field that Nellie spots soft pink hair through the mass of uniforms and alumni. The sight makes her heart race much faster than the marching and crowd could have. The fact that he actually showed up almost cancels all the frustration from before and all she can focus on is getting close to him as soon as possible.
“You showed up,” Nellie says once the duo is sat comfortably in the band stands.
“I told you that I would,” Michael raises an eyebrow at the girl.
“I was beginning to doubt that,”
“Nel, I have never lied to you” He tells her with a softer tone.
She just plays with the keys of her Piccolo, “Yeah, you do Mike. You usually do every time you claim you'll come home.”
“You know I can't help that. I always make plans and things always pop up. I'm here now, let me make it up to you,”
“I really don't wanna talk about this anymore. I'm going to get hot chocolate, want some?” She asks while handing him her beloved instrument.
“We need to talk, I don't want things to be bad between us.”
“I don't want to now, Michael.”
Nellie wants to stay and talk, it's what she's been craving for months on end. To just cuddle up next to him and talk about everything they've missed. She wants to know all about his famous life, tours, and new friends. She wants to tell him all about her students and how she's successful in her own way. But she doesn't, she turns and walks down the bleachers stairs. Away from Michael and any bad moods that began to cloud her mind. She's just going to get them some hot chocolate and let the cold breeze cool her off before she goes back to him. Their friendship is something they both value and she doesn't want to ruin that due to bitter moods and hurt feelings. They'd work it out, they always do.
As promised, Nellie returns with hot chocolate and the two sip it in silence during the game. He doesn't bother trying to say anything else to her, but doesn't pull away when she cuddles up to him for warmth. They stay like that until halftime when they follow the high school band to warm up. Then onto field. The show feels natural and familiar, the one thing that both Nellie and Michael missed. Throughout the show she can occasionally see his pink hair moving smoothly across the field or see glints of his silver instrument. It fills her heart with nostalgia, no different than the rest of this week.
“I'm sorry I never come home,” Michael tells Nellie after the game.
She turns to watch the boy, his hair sticking to his forehead and green eyes studying her carefully, “I'm sorry that I was being a dick earlier. I was just kinda hurt that you were late. We don't get much time together.”
“I know. I wish it was different but with to-”
“Yeah, tour.” She cuts him off. “I would know more about that if you talked to me.”
“I should've made more time for you. I know,”
“I just want my best friend, Mike.” Nellie says and looks away from him.
Without warning, Michael pulls the shorter girl into his chest and hugs her tightly. She melts into the warm embrace and squeezes him softly.
“I can't take anymore time off. But I was thinking, why don't you take a little vacation and come with us for a month. Or two. I'll show you LA, you can see new places.” Michael tells her suddenly with wide eyes as if it surprises him too.
“Mikey,” Nellie whispers softly. “I have work and bills. I can't just leave like you can,”
A cheeky smile pulls at his pink lips, “And? Work for us,”
“Yes, because you totally need a music therapist,” Nellie rolls her eyes.
“We need…” Michael trails off, “Music lessons? You have a degree in music education.”
“Oh, so now a band with number one songs needs a music educator,” Nellie laughs at the thought. “Especially with all your famous friends,”
“Luke and Ashton can't read sheet music,”
“Luke plays piano,” She deadpans.
“By ear” Michael grins down at her. “You know that isn't proper. C'mon, Nellie.”
“As fun as that so-”
This time Michael cuts her off, “We'll pay double whatever this district offers. They really don't offer much, I would know, we both went here,”
“Fine.” Nellie grins.
Michael wraps his arms around her tightly and spins her around with joy. Nellie starts in a fit of giggles and hugs him tighter than ever before. She finally gets to see her best friend every single day. No more late nights waiting for texts and feeling let down when plans change. Suddenly doing Alumni band is the best decision she's ever made.
“I can't wait for you to meet the boys, Nel” Michael rambles, “You'll love them and oh my god all of the food in LA? To die for. I have so much to show you."
“I can't wait, Mikey."
