peanut's reaction to leafs vs tampa
NOTE: this is from the game on NOV/06/23. since peanut's too small for ig, lmk if you guys wanna see stuff like this for p's world!
she was watching the game back in new jersey with mama and jack bcz luke's on the roadtrip with the rest of the team. nico joined them bcz peanut missed him.
the knies goal made her rlly happy at the start, and she was cheering with mama, while nico and jack were talking about the plays that led up to it
almost immediately after that, peanut began to hate it. tampa scored less than a minute after, and then they scored again, and again, and again... and the game was 4-1: tampa
nico distracts peanut while jack's trying to calm mama down as she threatens to destroy the leafs defense singlehandedly and take their place
when they switched goalies, peanut began cheering for woll, but she got sad when she saw samsonov all frustrated. she's asking mama "call sammy. i wanna talk to sammy." and mama's like "p, it's the middle of the game. i can't reach him rn. we'll call after." and peanut doesn't like it, but she can't rlly argue
and then matthews scored two in the second period, and peanut's all fired up again. she's running around the living room going "go leafs go! that's my dada!"
she's cheering again the next period when calle ties it, and then literally starts bouncing off the walls when mitch scores eight seconds later to get the leafs up one.
and then tampa ties it
when overtime starts, peanut's back to making up random chants to cheer the leafs on, screaming at the t.v. like they can hear her
it must've worked, bcz calle scored and the leafs won -- cue peanut losing her literal mind
she fts aus immediately like "papá, you did so good. you won the game. and TWO goals! i saw you drawed a p on your glove and gave it a kiss for your celly. i got so happy! i'm so happy rn."
and aus is grinning, so fucking happy that peanut's this happy for the win and that she noticed how he drew a little p on his gloves
and then she talks to sammy and she's like promising that he's still her favourite and that she's gonna wear his jersey to give him some luck. and sammy's obvs frustrated, but seeing this little kid do everything to make him happy makes him calm down a bit.
and then she talks with mitchy and knies for a bit, just blabbering random stuff she heard nico and jack talking about and the two look so impressed, and don't realize it's not her own thoughts but two nhlers who were analyzing the game

@david-reinbacher tagged me thank youuuuu just the other day i was thinking about how i wanted an excuse to talk about myself LMAO
Tell me about:
1. The thing that got you hooked on hockey
i've spoke about how i first got interested in hockey so i won't rehash that, but what hooked me was honestly the behind the scenes content. behind the b was my best friend when i was a baby fan, i absolutely loved the content. even now, that sort of behind the scenes stuff is still my favourite content posted by teams
2. Your first ever fandom friend
my first hockey friend was shoshana (@/kempny) but they aren't on hockeyblr anymore and we haven't spoken in years unforch
3. The jersey you would most like to own
this is boring but my dream jersey is just a regular hischier home jersey
4. YOUR player (you only get ONE so choose wisely)
i am predictable. obviously it's nico. i've always felt like being a fan of the devils, for me, is like returning to the comfort of your home. nico's like that for me too. i think, no matter what team he plays on in the future, seeing him on or off the ice will give me the same comfort that coming home does. soz for getting sappy, he's just my guy
5. A pairing that deserves more fic
like. i'm a mattdrai girlie and i will never say no to more fics. but i am also tragically stuck in 2017 and would therefore go absolutely insane for more niconolan fics.
6. Your favourite on-ice moment
this is going to sound so stupid because i literally wasn't even a hockey fan yet, but adam henriques goal against the r*ngers in the 2012 ecf that sent the devs to the finals... i knooooow its such a dumb choice cause i wasnt a fan but. god. i cant explain how much that moment means to me even looking back retroactively. i get goosebumps every single time.
THEN
link someone else's art/fic/etc that you love & think everyone should check out
I HAVE A LIST. here's three from three different mediums. @jonasiegenthaler's insanely beautiful nico art inspired by a quote from his tribune article. @ghostgeno's jack eichel 'what i got' hockey poetry post. and @stevenstamkos's fic 'and i saw stars' which is half taylor hall/jordan eberle and half taylor hall/adam henrique and entirely taylor hall character study. i love all of these so much, none of you will ever know how much i respect you and the things you create.
AND
link something you made & are proud of & want people to see
so unforch i'm not part of the creative side of hockeyblr but like. go read the 2018 drama post i created at the end of 2018. esp if you weren't a fan at the time. it's my most popular post and i love how it complies so much history from that year that most of us would probably just forget about.
alas i will not be tagging anyone because. i think? everyone i would usually tag has already been tagged. also i'm shy :( idk who is okay with being tagged :(

These are my two favourites !!
🎶 What would your goal song be and why?
😈 What is your weirdest head canon about an NHL player?
Oh I actually have an answer for this one!!!!
It would be The Horror and The Wild by The Amazing Devil SPECIFICALLY the part where he goes
'welcome to the storm', I thunder 'welcome to my table bring your hunger'
like it's just so dramatic for no reason and that's my whole vibe.
I am trying to think of any of my headcanons that would count as "weird". Um....I will be convinced until told otherwise that 1. Nico and Jonas still live together and 2. Jonas taught Jack how to cook

fic asks: 1, 4, 9, 15
hellooo thank you for the questions <3
1: Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?
currently outlining what’s colloquially known as feral catfic—a long oneshot, maybe twoshot, AU set in a tiny coastal village where Valtteri runs a shelter for rescued feral cats. It’s a quiet and peaceful existence until Daniel, wandering jack of all trades and jobless nomad, shows up when his truck breaks down and is forced to look for work to pay for repairs. I think I have all the plot points, just have to arrange them and solidify the roles of supporting characters.
I’m quite enamoured by this one because it’s going to be unabashedly fluffy, which is unusual for me esp. as I’ve just spent the year so far writing emotionally constipated rivalry. Also I think it’s the first time I’ll be writing an ace character! I’m looking forward to the challenge of forming and emphasising emotional bonds without the—I don’t mean this in a derogatory manner—the literary crutch of romance or sexuality. Like when a kiss isn’t the end goal, nor is sharing a life together, what do you do to hammer home the power of a relationship? So yeah, I love this one because it’s going to be totally self indulgent but also a massive challenge.
4: Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)
for you, my brocedes mutual, my favourite bit of my brocedes fic:
You both live in your heads all the damn time, Seb had complained once, when they were still in high school. Nico and Lewis had gently touched fingertips and grinned at each other.
It was good, to pretend. To feign to everyone else that what they had was near telepathy. To tell themselves that there weren't class-A-rated fire doors blocking off the more tentative selections of their thoughts.
Yeah, we live in our heads but I'm terrified of what I don't know is in his, Lewis would say to Seb, if he could do it all over again.
9: Are you more of a drabble or a longfic kind of writer? Pantser or plotter? Do you wish you were the other?
Longfic. Plotter. I have a damn excel spreadsheet for each of my longer fics, with date/location/events/emotions/characters all laid out for planning at a glance. The world wishes I was a drabble writer, because christ, I take a long time to update chapters, but my fic journey began with 150k Alex Rider multichapters and that, to me, is the purest definition of fic. I like them long, fast paced, cut with gratuitous scenes throughout a very detailed plot. That’s what I want to write, myself.
15: Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)?
Summaries and tags, for sure! I feel like people pay more attention to summaries than titles. I’ve edited summaries to dumb them down sometimes when I feel I made them too grandiose—f1 fic readers somehow seem to prefer them (overly) simplistic. And tagging is the eternal fight between too much and no readership, right? I like how a clean taglist looks though, under two lines is so damn pretty.

I was thinking to do a small info card for Konstance, so here we go. This is for DMC3 but i plan to do one for each game. Surely my oldest OC so far, no kidding. I created her somewhere between 2007 and 2008.
Sorry for any english error, i’m literally sleeping.
(i suck with poses, so the main one is from x)
Want other details? Keep reading i guess.
- At the time of DMC3, she’s probably 21 or 22 years old.
- She’s a smoker. Long, long before Nico.
- Konstance developed 2 combat styles.
Silverthaw: an equivalent of the Swordmaster. This style will focus skills in close-ranged weapons, like swords. Runaway: an equivalent of the Gunslinger. This style will focus skills in long-ranged weapons, like guns.
- She has a devil side, as mentioned. She discovered her devil power at a younger age, but never fully revealed how. Supposedly, to protect her brother from great danger. Konstance uses her devil powers if necessary and wisely, proving to have accepted this part of herself and using it for good reasons and goals.
- According her skills and abilities, she has a big affinity with ice element, while her brother has affinity with fire element. Like the classic Inferno in Divine Comedy, which has mostly fire but also an ice plane (the more you know). This can create an interesting dualism between the two of them.
- Other than Glacial and Ancient&Alive, she managed to find few other devil arms, like the powerful Angra Mainyu, a couple of twin-whips made of steel and bones. Another example is Asmodeus, a rifle-like gun that servers also as flamethrowel.
- Her only family is her brother. She didn’t hate her parents but since they are dead/disappeared, she doesn’t care anymore and thinks that would be pretty useless to care for them.
- She has a big sense of humor and sarcasm, but can also be very impulsive in battle. She may charge without even thinking. Usually, it’s Ishoran that keeps her to do such a thing. Likes to mock demons and tends to swear when surprises, angry, or annoyed. Don’t you dare to threat people she really cares about, she’ll be very mad. Especially, don’t threat the kidNero if you care for your life, but we’ll talk about this in another outfit.
- Konstance and Ishoran are very close and know a lot about each other. She’s oldest by one year, more or less. They care and trust each other, and don’t usually worry if one is slighly injured or disappears for some days.
- Her blue dye is provided by an odd shop she visit from time to time, owned by an old man with a curious indian-like accent. It also has other strange things that people tends to define “odd”, “demonic” and such.
- She has a curious relationship with Dante, a sort of “brotherly” one where they mock each other almost all the time, which always leads to questions like “Are they together?”, “Do they actually like each other?”, and the popular “Did they ever had sex???”. When questioned about this, she just ignore that or dismiss the question, leaving that a mystery. We’ll never know, i’m afraid.
- Despite this, she had sex before so nope, not a virgin.
- Konstance loves to eat and is a big pizza lover. Her favourite is a classic Margherita with fresh mushrooms, cheese, and black truffle. As long as there’s no olive, capers, fish and other things she hates. She’s a sort of sugar-addicted. Meaning that she’s completely immune to the sense of disgust that the most sweetest teeth-breaker candy should give. Alcoholic must always be sweet - in fact, she refuses to drink Jack Daniel’s and similar unless in very desperate occasions. Can’t live without irish cream. She also have a quite impressive resistance to spicy things. Occasionally, she orders a pizza super-spiced that even Dante doesn’t dream to eat. A good way to avoid the pizza to disappear.
- She’s a fan of heavy metal and rock. Sometimes, she likes to dance almost-naked while listening to something very heavy, just for the hell of it. Then proceeds to choose a random outfit for the day.

Nicholas Latifi has confirmed that he will not be returning to F2 in 2019, even if he fails to secure a race seat with Williams for next season. Latifi has been beaten to this year's F2 title by Nyck de Vries, however is still in prime position to finish 2nd overall. - “Nyck and ART did an amazing job this year, they fully deserved it. So my focus is to maintain second place. I already have, technically, the Superlicence, said Latifi in an interview with racefans.net. “I don’t physically have it, but the goal was never to just get the Superlicence. The goal was to finish as high as possible.” - “For next year I still have nothing confirmed. For me, Formula 2, this was always going to be my last year", continued the Canadian driver. “Coming into the season I knew it was gonna be my last year, good or bad. So I’m happy I had a good season. We just have to see for next year what will be the plan.” - As mentioned yesterday, by @fastf1, both Latifi and his DAMS team-mate Sergio Sette Camara are set to leave the F2 team at the end of this season, with Dan Ticktum and Sean Gelael the expected replacements. - Nico Hulkenberg is one of the most high-profile drivers still on the market, however it is understood that Williams are not looking at the German driver, who is set to bow out of F1 after the Abu Dhabi GP. Jack Aitken and Sergio Sette Câmara are high-profile F2 drivers who are likely to end the year with 40 Superlicense points, however neither driver has been linked with the Williams seat. - Latifi is the favourite to take the vacant seat alongside George Russell at Williams, for next season. If Latifi doesn't end up at Williams, where do you think he'll be be next year? 🤔 🏁🏁 | CREDITS: MOTORSPORT IMAGES | #F1 #FormulaOne #F12019 #F1News #F1Pics #F1Memes #F1History #Formula2 #F2 #NicholasLatifi #SergioSetteCamara #WilliamsRacing #WilliamsF1Team #TeamLH #LH44 #MV33 #HondaF1 #GR63 #RK88 #MercedesAMGPetronas #MercedesBenzEQ #SV5 #ScuderiaFerrari #DR3 #CL16 #VB77 #KR7 #RenaultF1Team #MichaelSchumacher #KeepFightingMichael https://www.instagram.com/p/B5QYpRthYE6/?igshid=vdzf7vc0zbqy

Ramblings: Aberg Traded; Troy Terry Called Up; Pettersson Traded; Larkin; Konecny – January 17
Don’t forget to grab your copy of the 2019 Dobber Midseason Fantasy Guide! It’s available right now in the Dobber Shop. There is something for everyone: projections and tips to push for a league title this year as well as prospects and call-ups to watch for those that might be at the bottom of their league and looking to 2019-20 and beyond. Everything the smart fantasy owner needs is contained in those digital pages.
*
Elias Pettersson was skating before the optional game-day skate for the Canucks on Wednesday, and even skated with a few players during the optional. He did not play on Wednesday night, however. All the same, it appears he’s on the cusp of returning, which I’m sure is music to the ears of many a fantasy owner.
*
Peter Cehlarik was called up by the Bruins and skated on the second line with David Krejci and Jake DeBrusk in the team’s game Wednesday night. This is important because it resulted in the healthy scratch of David Backes. I had hopes that Backes could flourish with a play-making centre and talented, young scoring winger but he’s simply floundered. Some of his play-driving metrics were strong as recently as last year so I don’t think he’s fallen off the map as a player. With that said, the 20-goal, 50-point seasons are long gone. If he can be a solid two-way, bottom-6 winger for the balance of his contract, I think that’s the best Boston can ask for.
*
It was announced last night that there would be no World Cup of Hockey in 2020. You hear that? That’s the sound of our next work stoppage stampeding through the gates.
*
The Ducks traded forward Pontus Aberg to the Minnesota Wild for forward Justin Kloos. Kloos has 80 points in his last 110 AHL games going back to the start of the 2017-18 season. You can read his Dobber Prospects profile here.
Here’s the thing with Aberg: Minnesota has a lot of talented wingers. There are the veterans in Jason Zucker, Nino Niederreiter, Zach Parise, and Mikael Granlund. Luke Kunin has looked good since returning from injury and they’re really trying to make Jordan Greenway work. In other words, there is a lot of competition for Aberg. He also shot 14.3 percent at five-on-five with Anaheim, which is absurdly high, especially for a player of his calibre.
This is my best guess as to what happens. Aberg comes in and gets a middle-six role out of the gate. That lasts about two weeks, and then he’s pushed to the fourth line. After that, he becomes part of the rotation with guys like J.T. Brown and Marcus Foligno. If deep-league owners want to chase him, go ahead, but that’s the only instance I’d have interest.
*
Speaking of Anaheim, among other moves, they recalled prospect forward Troy Terry. That is a guy to keep an eye on, on the other hand. He’s been tearing up the AHL and has a lot of offensive tools the Ducks could use. Let’s see where they slot him, though, before getting too excited.
Patrick Eaves was sent on a conditioning assignment so he should be back in a week. Another guy to get excited over because he might slot right on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell.
*
Both Ryan Kesler and Jakob Silfverberg are going to be out in the near-term for the Ducks. We’re waiting for further updates.
*
William Nylander was back on a line with Auston Matthews in practice on Wednesday, along with Zach Hyman, while Andreas Johnsson moved up to skate with John Tavares and Mitch Marner. Does that last? Only Mike Babcock knows, but this is where Nylander should have been all along. Let’s see what he can do with it.
*
Montreal forward Paul Byron was suspended three games for his charge on Florida defenceman MacKenzie Weeger. Byron had recently been skating on the third line for Montreal though their lines have been a bit in flux of late.
*
Matt Duchene scored a pair of goals in his first game back in the lineup following the birth of his son, a 5-2 win, and against Colorado no less. That gives his 20 goals and 45 points in 38 games this year. That also tied him with Aleksander Barkov in points over the last calendar year at 82 (though Duchene did it in three fewer games). Whether in Ottawa or elsewhere, he’s going to get a hefty contract.
Both Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen managed multi-point games in the losing effort. Rantanen’s two helpers give him 50 assists on the season. He had 55 all of last season.
*
Sean Couturier scored a natural hat trick en route to the Flyers overcoming a 2-0 deficit to take a 4-3 win from the Bruins. Carter Hart shined, making 38 saves in the victory. Boston looked very good most of the night but sometimes one team cashes their chances and gets some saves, and the other doesn’t. Hockey.
Ivan Provorov had a pair of assists in the game, his first multi-point game since November 27th and just his third such contest of the campaign. I’m sure the Flyers, their fans, fantasy owners, and the defenceman himself were hoping for a better season this year. Let’s see what he does over the final 11 weeks of the season.
Peter Cehlarik scored two of Boston’s three goals in the loss. He skated the entire game on the second line with Krejci and DeBrusk, got secondary power play minutes, and even scored a six-on-five goal with Halak pulled, skating with their top line. You can read his Dobber Prospects profile here.
*
More in the morning.
*
I was looking over the points per 60 minutes leaders since the start of the 2017 season yesterday for something unrelated to these Ramblings but came across some interesting names. All the names you’d expect are inside the top-25 but after that there are some guys we might not expect. Here are a few (minimum 1500 minutes).
Nico Hischier (T-28th, 2.33 points/60 between Ryan Getzlaf and Phil Kessel)
Though Hischier’s production hasn’t been eye-popping with 84 points in 124 games, that is still a very solid total, especially for a player his age. The thing is, out of those 84 points, only 12 have come on the power play. It’s not a bunch of secondary assists boosting his scoring, either, as he’s 26th in the league in that span in primary points/60 minutes (goals and first assists), sandwiched between Jack Eichel and Sean Monahan. Playing with Taylor Hall and Kyle Palmieri obviously helps, but almost no centre in the NHL can produce without talented wingers.
Travis Konecny (T-35th with Sidney Crosby at 2.19 points/60)
Speaking of guys who produce good-but-not-great numbers because of a lack of power play production (and minutes)…
I understand that 24 points in 46 games isn’t a great fantasy campaign for Konecny owners, but he’s second among the team’s forwards in points/60 minutes this year, trailing only Claude Giroux. He’s also first among their forwards in shot attempts/60 minutes. And he does everything we look for in a player’s underlying metrics: drives the play, shoots, looks for exits/entries with possession, and knows how to find his teammates (from CJ Turtoro’s tableau):
He’s a burgeoning star. This is a guy fantasy owners who are currently way out of the league race should be targeting. You can probably get away with a very good roster player and a draft pick to get him. I would be at least inquiring. This kid is going to be a very, very good fantasy asset for the next decade.
Alex Tuch (43rd in points/60 at 2.11, ahead of Blake Wheeler at 2.08)
Vegas is a team I really struggle with. Their top two lines, one of which Tuch is a part of, are incredible. I know the top line has struggled to score this year but that’s more luck than anything. The second line has been great, particularly when Brandon Pirri was there. But it’s not a situation where they’re given huge opportunities for success. For example, no forwards this year is averaging 19:30 of ice time per game, only two are over 19 minutes at all (William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault), and Reilly Smith is the only other guy over 18 minutes. They also spread out the power-play minutes, having 8 forwards within 2:06-3:00 in PPTOI/game. Without loads of ice time and heavy PP usage, can Tuch be a 70-point player? Well, the top line did it last year. Why not the second line this year (or in future seasons)?
Tuch is a very, very good real-life player and a very, very good fantasy option, particularly in leagues that count hits. He’s only 22 years old and has seemingly locked himself into top-6 minutes plus one of the power-play units. Maybe he doesn’t hit his true ceiling, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be very valuable in the fantasy game.
*
They didn’t play on Wednesday night but I wanted to take some time to discuss the Red Wings. In particular the current top line of Gustav Nyquist, Dylan Larkin, and Tyler Bertuzzi. I’m aware that they shuffled lines a bit in their Tuesday night game but it’s those three I want to review.
Larkin was one of my off-season favourites but then my actual projection had me rank him much lower than I had anticipated. Such is life. Anyway, he currently has 45 points in 48 games and he’s doing so with Detroit shooting under 6 percent with him on the ice at five-on-five. A high individual points percentage (over 85 percent) is keeping him afloat, but if that shooting percentage climbs over the final 30-plus games, he has more room for production growth. Imagine that.
Nyquist is up to 40 points in 48 games, tying his production for 2017-18 in 34 fewer contests. His 29 assists are the second-most of his career and he needs just eight more down the stretch to set a career high. He needs 15 total points to set a career high in that regard. He’s doing this while shooting 8.7 percent despite being a career 11.4 percent shooter heading into the year. His on-ice shooting percentage is more normal than Larkin’s at 9.1 percent and he’s currently sporting a career-high in secondary assists at five-on-five. Maybe he has some positive regression coming but don’t forget he’s a likely trade deadline candidate. He may not be in Detroit another month.
He’s bounced all around the lineup but Bertuzzi has apparently found a home on the top line with Larkin. He managed a hat trick over the weekend and currently has a career-high 25 points in 46 games. He’s getting about 30 seconds more ice time post-Christmas than he was prior and he’s shooting more, too, though he’s not at two shots per game just yet.
All told, all three players are having very good seasons individually. Together, they’ve been an excellent line for the Red Wings. That’s not hyperbole, either: in about 87 minutes together at five-on-five, adjusted for score, that trio is enjoying a 62.7 percent shot share. They aren’t wasting shots, either, as their high-danger shot share is over 58 percent. For the record, the only line over the last 1 ½ seasons with 400-plus minutes together sporting a shot share exceeding 60 percent was the old top line for Montreal of Phillip Danault, Brendan Gallagher, and Tomas Tatar. In other words, this Detroit trio has been absolutely sublime, though whether they could keep it up for hundreds of minutes is up for debate.
As I mentioned, this will, at best, only last another month or so until Nyquist is traded. All the same, if they’re skating together, they all deserve some consideration in most fantasy leagues. Maybe someone like Anthony Mantha can take up Nyquist’s mantle when he’s gone? Just some food for thought in your fantasy leagues.
Also, we need more league-wide hype for Larkin. This kid is blossoming into a superstar.
