growing up queer in an ultra-conservative southern evangelical church gives you deeply ingrained guilt, shame, and grief that haunts you long into your adulthood, sure
but it ALSO gives you the bunny, the bunny, oooh I love the bunny I gave everything that I had for the bunny I don't want no health food when it's time to feed a big bag o' bunnies is all that I need
the song tubbo played today actually fits his character so well. q!tubbo just escaped purgatory after 2 weeks of fighting and barely surviving and hes overall in a dark place. the eggs and some of his friends are missing, and some don't even remember who they are. he's lost. but then sunny comes along and shows him that the bright days are still here and that everything will be okay someday. she shows him how to not worry about the past and she brings out his smile that was once locked up
once again focusing in on dragon-surgeons with laserlike aim. we have several thoughts on this passage, which are as follows:
one: how does one dissect a dragon. what are they doing it with. are there attendants here with those massive two-person saws for this purpose, with the doctors spectating and directing? are the surgeons the guys with the massive saws? the dragons are So big compared to the people, are they crawling around in there? do they have students in attendance as they might at a human dissection?
two: 'dissection' is such a particular choice of word here. if you are taking apart your Coworker after their death that is an Autopsy. if you are taking apart an animal for food after their death that is Butchering, and if you are taking it apart for science that is a Necropsy. it is, what, 1806? dissection is scientific and not really for people you are regarding as People right about now. this is such a Way of pointing out the Strange Social Position of dragons in temeraireverse.
three: again I ask. how does one Become a dragon-surgeon. keynes seems to be equally adept at human medicine, and on his various adventures up to this point laurence hasn't been provided with an additional surgeon for his crew as well as for his dragon. what kind of medical school operations are going on in england and scotland to allow this guy Training. are medical students from edinburgh being funneled out to the covert at (iirc fictional) loch laggan to study dragons? what is the Draconic opinion on post-mortem disassembly for scientific purposes?
Pros of Milgram releasing song snippets at the beginning of each trial: it gives us info about the characters to start theorizing on throughout the trial instead of waiting a year to have ideas about the later prisoners, it gives us something to look forward to between songs, it lets us (slightly) prepare for the emotions we're getting ourselves into with each, and more!
Cons: It has been months of me vibrating with the thought "Double is going to kick ass" and it will continue for months!!!!
got tagged by my beloved @sillyfairygarden for the "list 5 songs you have on repeat" ask game :]
Forever by Noah Kahan which has been playing on loop in my brain for the past four days straight while i worked on my latest fic, which pulls some of the lyrics for its title!! Admittedly this song isn't my favorite by him, im more of a Paul Revere girlie, but i utterly adore the chorus and it massages my brain each time i hear it :]
Spectator by Friday Pilots Club which has like. THE dirtiest bass line ive heard in a while and also includes one of my magical earworm chord transitions in the chorus. Like holy shit. My brain is melting in the BEST of ways and ive been looping it whenever i want to feel action-y without actually thinking
On a much lighter musical note ive been listening a lot to Arboretum by Sparkbird since it first came out like two weeks ago, which like, shout out to the anon who introduced me to him im so hooked now. Im utterly obsessed with the different tempos and times meshed together in this song so seamlessly, and the lyrics are like POETRY (this song has also made it to my scarian playlist LOL the lyrics are so top tier for them imo)
. dont look at me but this is my number one song to loop when i need to get shit done and want an insanely catchy tune to do it with anyway go listen to Vending Machine of Love by The Stupendium i promise you it is so so funny and so so worth it (and full of INSANE wordplay too) (also it IS suggestive so keep that in mind if u go to listen)
This list would not be complete by me without a City and Colour song so i offer up The Love Still Held Me Near, which is SO GORGEOUS and constantly makes me think of lighthouses and fog and crashing seas.... this is my go-to loop for his songs rn its so full of life and energy while still feeling melancholy in a gorgeously aching way im OBSESSED OKAY GO LISTEN YOU WANNA LISTEN TO THIS SOOOO BAD GO GO GO ‼️‼️‼️‼️💥💥💥💥💥
Okay i am tagginggggg.... @squish--squash @corvidaearts @cocoabats @emberglowfox @raichett :]
