SFW Alphabet: Trafalgar Law

CW/TW: None Word count: 1.2k

Activities - What are their favorite things to do with you? How do you spend your free time?

Law is the type of person that always seems to be doing something. Because of that, if he’s working at his desk, he likes when you hang out in the room with him. Occasionally he’ll talk with you about when he’s working on but even when he’s quiet he enjoys your presence.

Boo! - How do they feel about surprises, giving and receiving?

Law does not like surprises. Giving or receiving them.

Comfort - How do they comfort you when you’re upset? When the tables turn, do they come to you, or do they try to handle it themselves?

When you’re upset, Law gives you his full attention. Usually with his hand on top of yours, using his thumb to rub the back of your hand. It doesn’t seem like much but it never fails to calm you down.

When he’s upset he’ll handle it himself since that’s what he’s used to.

Most people think it’s impossible to tell when he’s upset but after a while you started noticing the subtle changes in his behavior. When he gets like that, wait until the two of you are away from the crew and just give him a hug. It lets him know you’re there for him but still leaves it up to him if he wants to talk about what is bothering him. Sometimes all he needs is a little contact from you to pull him out of his thoughts.

Dance - Do they like to dance with you? How good of a dancer are they?

On very rare occasions, if he’s in just the right mood, Law will slow dance with you in your room.

He’s not a bad dancer, but there are some awkward moments.

Excitement - How do they act when they’re excited? What excites them?

Law acts the same when he’s excited aside from the smirk that’s usually on his face.

Future - What are their plans for the future? Do they see themselves getting married, having kids?

He hasn’t thought about the future much. He would rather focus on the present here and now.

At least that’s what he tells you when you ask him about it. He doesn’t want to admit that planning for the future scares him because the only other time he did, it ended in disappointment.

Gifts - What do they give you as presents? How often do they get you gifts?

Law saves the gift giving for special occasions and he always seems to know what to get you.

He pays attention and makes mental notes when you mention things you may want. The last gift he gave you was something you mentioned wanting once a few months ago.

Hold - How do they hold you? Cuddling, sleeping, holding hands…

When the two of you are in bed together and he’s actually sleeping he tends to cling to you. It’s like he’s subconsciously worried he’ll lose you if he doesn’t.

Ideal - What’s their ideal date like?

Late night walks on whatever island you’re docked at. It gives the two of you some alone time while also being about to get some fresh air.

Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they handle it?

There have been a few occasions where he’s gotten jealous but he does everything he can not to show it. At least not to you. He doesn’t want you getting the wrong idea and starting to think he doesn’t trust you.

Kisses - How do they like to kiss you? How frequently do you kiss?

Law will usually wait until the two of you are alone to kiss you. Usually either in your shared bedroom or quick pecks in the empty hallways of the Polar Tang.

Love - How do they show you that they love you?

He shows he loves you by how much he cares about your health. At first you thought it was just him doing what doctors do until you noticed he paid special attention to you.

If you haven’t been eating as much as you should be there always seems to be a snack waiting for you. If you haven’t been sleeping enough or seem more stressed than usual, you’ll have a lighter workload that day.

Melt - What do you do that absolutely makes them melt?

When the two of you are laying in bed together and your start absentmindedly playing with his hair. He can’t explain why but he loves it.

Nicknames - What do they call you, and what are their favorite things to be called?

Honestly he’s not a huge fan of nicknames.

Obvious - How obvious do they make it that they like you?

You had no idea. It takes either him confessing his feelings to you or vice versa for you to figure it out.

Pets - Do they have pets? Do they want them?

He doesn’t have pets unless you count Bepo.

And he doesn’t want any.

Quiet - How are the calm, quiet moments with them?

Most of your time with Law is calm, quiet moments and you wouldn’t want it any other way. Your relationship with him is the kind where you each can be quietly doing your own things but still enjoying each other's company.

Romance - How romantic are they? What are their go-to ways of being romantic?

Law isn’t a very romantic person. It’s not that he doesn’t want to be, it’s just not something he’s ever really thought about. He tries.

Safe - What makes them feel safe and comfortable around you?

The way you quietly care for him. He has a bad habit of forgetting to eat when he’s working too much. But he always finds a glass of water and snacks at his desk.

Tend - How do they act when you’re hurt or sick, and vice versa?

Lucky for you if you get hurt or sick that Law’s a doctor. He knows exactly how to take care of you.

When he’s hurt or sick he can be a bit of a pain in the ass. However, that’s mostly because he’s not used to having someone to take care of him. He’s used to taking care of himself and doesn’t really know how to accept your help. Although he does get better with that over time.

Unique - What’s an unusual thing about them that’s oddly charming?

His level of seriousness. There are times when you wish he’d lighten up but you know his attitude comes from a want to protect you and the crew.

Variety - Do they prefer to keep things the same, or spice it up?

He has thought about spicing things up, but he doesn’t know how to bring it up to you.

Wash - What’s it like taking a bath with them, or helping them wash up after a fight?

Bathing with him is one of the few times you can actually get him to relax.

XO - How do they show you affection? How much PDA are they willing to show?

He does not like PDA.

Yearn - What do they do when they miss you?

He gets very irritable when he misses you. The crew usually just roll their eyes and leave him be when he’s like that.

Zzz - How do they act when they get sleepy? How is it sleeping in the same bed?

Law doesn’t sleep a whole lot. When he does finally come to bed he’ll climb in next to you, wrap his arms around you, and use your chest as a pillow.

Activities - What are their favorite things to do with you? How do you spend your free time?

One of his favorite things to do with you is take late night walks. The night is always more calming to him, and being in that moment with you puts his mind at peace. He feels like it's a very intimate moment because he can be very vulnerable in front you.

You're favorite way to spend your free time is just laying on the deck with him. He usually leans up against Bepo, and you lay in between his legs, your back against his chest.

BOO! - How do they feel about surprises, giving and receiving?

Law doesn't surprise you often. He feels like surprises are irrelevant. When he does surprise you, it is usually with flowers or a picnic. His best surprise that he's ever given you was, of course, your engagement ring... Though he admitted Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin helped him plan the whole thing

On the other hand... Law absolutely hates surprises. He always has a blank expression on his face during the few occasions that you do surprise him

Comfort - How do they comfort you when you’re upset? When the tables turn, do they come to you, or try to handle it themselves?

While you wouldn't think that Law would be good at comforting, he actually is. Law hates to see you upset. Any time you are upset, he always wants to hold you and sooth you. But if you need space, he will happily give that to you as well.

It is very hard to tell when Law is upset because he always has the same expression on his face. However, when you finally start to pick up on the little cues, you always sit with him whether that be in silence, or him ranting. He always enjoys your company when he is feeling down or upset about something

Dance - Do they like to dance with you? How good of a dancer are they?

Only in private. Law loves slow dancing with you in the privacy of his office or your bedroom. He's not a very good dancer, but you don't mind at all.

Excitement - How do they act when they’re excited? What excites them?

Since Law doesn't really show emotion that often, it is a little hard to tell when he is excited, but you can always see the hint of a smile on his face whenever he gets excited

Law usually shows that little bit of excitement whenever you start showing progress on training or even your medical studies. He also has that small smile on his face whenever he sees you getting along with the rest of his crew

Future - What are their plans for the future? Do they see themselves getting married, having kids?

Law does think about settling down once he's done with his pirate journey. He definitely does want to build a future with you and does want to have children with you, but not while you both are living a life of piracy. He would rather you both have a life of adventure first before picking a town to settle down in

Gifts - What do they give you as presents? How often do they get you gifts?

His usual gifts are usually flowers or candy. He knows how much you love sweet things

He tries to get you a gift at least once a week if he has time to grab them

Hold - How do they hold you? Cuddling, sleeping, holding hands…

Law isn't really a fan of PDA, so if you are out and about in a town, he usually won't hold your hand, but he will carry your bags for you while you do some shopping

When you guys sleep at night, he always enjoys being the big spoon, but eventually you both get too warm so you usually end up apart sometime during the night

Ideal - What’s their ideal date like?

His favorite kind of date is finding a nice Spring island to stop at and letting the crew go off to do their own things while you and him go for a nice walk and find a quiet spot of relax and have a picnic

Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they handle it?

Law does get jealous but he doesn't show it. It is one of those that he silently watches to make sure that no one tries to make a move on you. He knows that you would not be unfaithful to him, but he doesn't trust other people

Kisses - How do they like to kiss you? How frequently do they kiss you?

He always like to give you sweet, soft kisses, but he usually won't do it in front of people

He kisses you as frequently as he can. He always enjoys the feeling of your lips on his

Love - How do they show you that they love you?

It's the little things that he does, like bringing you tea or tending to your wounds.

Melt - What do you do that absolutely makes them melt?

This man absolutely melts whenever you tend to his wounds. Seeing how much you have learned when traveling with him makes him lose his mind, but in the best way

Nicknames - What do they call you, and what are their favorite things to be called?

Law usually calls you love or sweetheart. His favorite things to be called are babe or captain, though captain is more so saved for the bedroom

Obvious - How obvious do they make it that they like you?

Law does not make it very obvious. As stated before, he keeps his emotions hidden pretty well. It does take a while before you figure it out, but it's the subtle blush that dusts his cheeks whenever you get close to him

Pets - Do they have pets? Do they want them?

Does Bepo count? Like I know he's a crew mate and Law's navigator, but he's a polar bear. I feel like he counts. So yes, Law does have a pet

Quiet - How are the calm, quiet moments with them?

They are some of your favorite moments. Just the two of you laying in bed, you humming a quiet tune while he runs his hands through your hair

Romance - How romantic are they? What are their go-to ways of being romantic?

Law isn't the most romantic person, but when the mood strikes him, his usual way of being romantic is running a hot bath for the two of you and lighting some candles. The man is cliche, but I feel like he learned that from Cora

Safe - What makes them feel safe and comfortable around you?

You're understanding of how he is always busy. If he's working hard in his office, you will sit with him and read a book. Comfortable silence, but still enjoying each others company

Your soft touch always sends a calm feeling through him, making him feel way more relaxed

Tend - How do they act when you’re hurt or sick, and vice versa?

Law goes into full doctor mode whenever you are sick or injured. He will stop at nothing to figure what is going on with you and how he can make it better

Law can usually take care of himself whenever he's sick, but you still like to bring him tea and soup to try and make him feel better

Unique - What’s an unusual thing about them that’s oddly charming?

The one thing that you always find oddly charming about Law is how focused he can get when he's study his medical books. The way he chews his bottom lip while flipping through pages of information trying to further his knowledge

Variety - Do they prefer to keep things the same, or spice it up?

Law does like to spice things up every once and a while, but he also likes things the way they are

Wash - What’s it like taking a bath with them, or helping them wash up after a fight?

Taking a bath with Law is always so relaxing. Getting him cleaned up after a fight, however, takes a little bit of time and can get quite frustrating. While he may be the Surgeon of Death, that man hates getting his wounds cleaned out, and will usually pout and complain as it's happening

XO - How do they show you affection? How much PDA are they willing to show?

As stated before, law doesn't really like PDA that much. He prefers those intimate moments stay between the two of you. That being said, when you guys are alone, he usually will show his affection by cuddling with you, holding your hand, and letting you sit on his lap while he does his work

Yearn - What do they do when they miss you?

Law usually sulks when he misses you. If you have to go out on a mission or just want to explore an island on your own, he'll pout and sulk around until you get back and then he won't leave your side for a good couple hours

Zzz - How do they act when they get sleepy? How is it sleeping in the same bed?

When sleepiness finally catches up to Law, he starts to get really clingy to you. All he wants to do is cuddle with you as you sing him to sleep. You love sharing a bed with him because while it can get a little warm when you sleep, it's comforting to know that you both with always be there for each other during the night

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Law's affection is pretty subtle. It's coffee made in the morning before you're up, and your favorite drink in his fridge even when you came over unexpectedly. It's snacks and quiet evenings in even though you had plans because it's obvious you need a break from the world.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Law is a give what he gets kind of friend. It's not like he's keeping strict records or anything, but if you're keeping your distance, so is he. He'll step up and step in sometimes, but most of the time he lets the other person decide how close/casual the relationship is. He's a little introverted in that sense, and that's why most of the people in his crew are high-energy – they pushed their way in and set the bar for what was being given.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Law was real hit or miss with cuddling until he became friends with Bepo. Minks and their hugging/snuggling breaks down anyone eventually xD – But now Law will have to actually stop himself from cuddling with people. He'll let people lean against him and snuggle without complaint, but it isn't until the boundaries of a relationship are defined (i.e. he's aware you're dating steady) that he'll start initiating cuddles.

Much like Eustass he tends to multitask his snuggling with reading/research/etc.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Law definitely wants a family in some way shape or form. Until he lost his family he had a really positive family experience, and I think he longs to have that again. He's really good at cleaning, a byproduct of being a doctor/surgeon, but his cooking skills are pretty basic. He's not bad, but no one's asking him to pick up extra shifts cooking for the crew.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

He'd be very clinical. Even if he was hurt by whatever the reason was, he'd keep it behind closed doors. Bepo, Penguin, and Sachi might know how much it actually affects him, but no one else would.

If it was kind of a mutual deal he'd probably be amenable to remaining friends. Sometimes things just don't work out that way and there's no hard feelings on either side.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Law falls faster and harder than he ever lets on, so a lot of his subtle affections and actions are because he doesn't want to overwhelm someone by coming on too hard or fast. He's educated enough to know the socially acceptable milestones for relationships, and he'll casually test the waters regarding commitment, but he's not dating just to pass the time, so he'll react accordingly.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Law understands trauma and abuse – and while he can be ruthless, he's not cruel or abusive himself. He can be sadistic behind closed doors – with consent – but outside of those parameters he's almost infinitely patient and kind, despite whatever expression is on his face.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Hugs are like cuddling for Law, he's not one to initiate them until he's reached a certain threshold in his relationship with someone, but thanks to Bepo he's really comfortable with receiving them. His hugs run the line too, from casual one-arm-side hugs, to clinging, almost desperate, don't-let-go-yet therapeutic hugs.

For a guy whose hands are cold more often than not his hugs are really warm.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Because of how hard and fast he can fall, he's hesitant to say it, but once it's said it's like the word is unsealed, and he's really comfortable with it. He'll hold back a little, for fear that overuse will diminish how you think he feels, but he's not rationing out 6 or 7 instances of it over a lifetime.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they're jealous?)

Unless it's an ongoing situation that gets under his skin repeatedly you'd probably never know. He's more likely to feel bad for feeling jealous, so he'll do whatever he can to keep it under wraps. If it gets to the point where it really irritates him he'll sit down and talk it out, but he's highly unlikely to lash out because of it.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Law's kisses are cool and dry, at least at first. It's the holding back thing at work, and he's restraining himself. He doesn't kiss just anyone either – hugs might be given out like candy to friends and such, but kisses are for relationships.

One solid make-out session and you realize his kisses behind closed doors are completely different. Passionate and hot and deep, he's stealing your breath and sending rushes into your skin with teasing nips and kisses at your neck and ears. He kisses how he likes to be kissed, so mimicking what he does for you (until he learns what you really like), is a good way to make sure he's getting kissed where and how he likes.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Law looks like the last person you want to ask to babysit for you, but he's surprisingly good with kids. Sometimes it's the Bepo-effect, but most of the time it's because he's patient and even tempered. Kids know they don't have to be afraid of him, even when he looks stressed.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Law's a morning person because he has to be, but he's also so overworked and busy he's often a night person too. In the end he's really just a flesh golem operating on an abundance of coffee and spite.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Without the need to be up first thing in the morning, Law would flourish better at night. He's up late night's because it's easier to focus then vs midday, and he gets more done. Granted, it means little sleep, but he's learned to push those boundaries.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Law's give and take shows its head again in this regard. He won't volunteer much, but he'll share in response to being trusted in the first place. Some of it is the last vestiges of legitimate trust issues, but mostly it's trying to keep himself from oversharing, or investing himself in someone who might not be committed to sticking around.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Law's patience is impressive. Even when he looks angry, it's more likely he's sleep-deprived and irritated, and not legitimately pissed. Actual anger from Law is rare, and it's really only going to happen if you've betrayed him in some way – I imagine he'd forgive just about anything else with enough time.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Law does his best to hold onto the details, but there's a lot on his plate, and not enough sleep to keep a hold of all of it. He'll forget small things from time to time, but he's got all the big important bits down pat quickly. Organizers help him keep track of dates and events, and his friends will help keep him on track too – knowing all of his quirks and responsibilities, they do what they can to help.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

That first kiss. That defining moment when he knew he'd finally be able to let loose a little and when he picks you up and kisses you deep against the wall, it becomes a good memory for you too.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Law is fiercely protective and is really bad about give and take in this regard. He always puts himself in the most dangerous situations in any of his plans, and carries much more of the burden than he needs to. Some of it is wanting to keep those dear to him safe, but some of it is also wanting to be in control and able to adapt to any changes in a plan.

He wouldn't try and keep you locked away from the world though, being free is important to him, and no matter the risks he'd never take that from someone.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He's a little bare minimum on dates, but his daily everyday tasks are so sweet that it's not a big deal, and sometimes his friends will help make sure he does a little extra for anniversaries. Flowers, dressing up, making reservations, that sort of thing. He tends to gift randomly when the mood strikes him, but Sachi and Penguin will remind him about holidays and such sometimes just in case.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

He sits inside his head too much, takes on too much of a plan or issue, and sometimes it can leave you feeling like he doesn't trust you. In all honesty he's trying not to burden you, and it's really hard to pull him out of this habit.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Law's only concern is to be clean and comfortable. The fact that he looks so good when his concern is so minimal is enough to drive everyone around feral, but he's got the body of a model – or near enough – so he doesn't need much effort. He wore a tight white t-shirt and a pair of jeans one day and you almost didn't want him to leave the house for fear he'd get mobbed.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

With how hard and fast he tends to fall for someone, yes. He won't let on if things fall apart, but by the time he's popping the question, he's laying himself bare in terms of his feelings and how important you are to him.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

He's a hopeless romantic, and when you go the extra mile and surprise him with a date, or rose-petals for a special at-home evening, he's so touched he'll be flustered. He'd actively do such things for you more often, but he's so tired/busy that he often loses the thread of planning before he's begun more than he cares to admit.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn't like, either in general or in a partner?)

He's okay with all sorts of relationship set ups – traditional, open, throuples, poly, etc. – his big thing is that no matter what shape it takes, communication is important. He's not okay with uncomfortable surprises, like learning about a new person in your open relationship because he came home early. (also, don't do that! Bad poly practice, bad! Communicate first, smooch second.)

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

He doesn't move much when he sleeps. Unless you come around. The second you sit down on the bed, or settle down too close to him he'll pull you in and it's an immovable cage. You're sleeping that way and you might as well just accept it.

(If he does it before you've really progressed he will wake up in the morning mortified and apologetic.)

Activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?

If you have an interest in medicine, he'll teach you what he knows (and even if you aren't interested, he may teach you basic first aid just as a precaution while on the seas). He'll also tell them all about his coin collection because his s/o is one of the few people he's comfortable enough around to e the gigantic fucking nerd we all know he is. He's also been meaning to learn how to cook (he's very good at boiling water for coffee or soup, but that's about it), so he'd probably want to learn together with you. I also think he's good at sketching, but doesn't do much aside from anatomical drawings; as he gets closer with you though, he might start drawing you in a more artistic sense in his spare time.

Beauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

The fact that you're with him of all people sometimes astounds him. He intentionally tries to close off his emotions and issues to others and can come across as very cold, so the fact that you love him despite that makes him grateful to have a partner who's so understanding and patient. He hasn't had that kind of warm presence around him since Corazon, and he wishes that you two could have met because of how alike you are in some ways.

Comfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Law's got the medical knowledge to know how to handle this, plus he's experienced panic attacks before. He'd get you to an isolated spot away from everyone else and softly tell you to breathe with him until you ride through that initial "wave" of anxiety and panic. Once it's passed, he'd get you something to drink and ask if you needed anything.

Dreams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

Once his business with his friends (allies) in the Straw Hats is concluded and Kaido is out of the way, he'd want to continue on to find the One Piece. He likes the idea of traveling to Raftel with you, and he'd set up a life for the two of you (as well as his crew) in some distant island for you all to come home to in between your travels across the sea. Honestly a part of him never thought he'd have the chance to live that long (with his history with Doflamingo and constant dangers following him throughout his life), so he doesn't have any specific goals in mind. He just wants to relax for a while with you beside him.

Equal - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

Mainly passive, but he'll sometimes be the dominant one. He thinks he isn't the romantic type, so when it comes to your relationship he's fine with you taking the reins. If you like things like PDA or private names, you'd have to initiate it because he's not likely to do that on his own. He's dominant mainly when he's being protective of you, especially if you're the kind of loyal partner who wants to fight alongside Law--even when he's demanding you run to safety with the rest of the crew, and is repeatedly having to Shamble you out of a fight.

Fight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

Law tends to internalize his frustration and anger during an argument and will act very cold at first. As he and his partner argue more and more, he would respond shortly and curtly, and he'll get more and more upset with their stubbornness and refusal to just walk away. If you push him long enough he'll explode a bit, letting his bottled up emotions out in one angry outburst where he'll likely say something he doesn't mean.

When it comes to forgiving his s/o, it may take a while (a day or so of avoiding them and silence, and awkwardness when they're in a room together) but in the end he'll always forgive them. He's lost enough loved ones in his life, and he doesn't want his pride to keep him from losing you as well.

Gratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

Law's very aware of when his s/o is doing something for him. He's always grateful for these acts of kindness, even if they're small in the grand scheme of things (making coffee for him, setting out the medical textbooks he was meaning to read later in the day, etc) He'll have a small smile on his face when he thanks them, either by saying it out loud or being a bit more affectionate than usual.

Honesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

At the start of the relationship, Law is very guarded. Once you two develop more trust for each other, he'll tell you more about his past and his plans for the future. His s/o will eventually become one of his closest confidants, if not the person he shares secrets with. Even then though, he may be inclined to keep some things hidden from you just to keep you safe (eg. He may not reveal the full steps of his plan to take out Kaido, just so in case you're captured you can't be forced to reveal everything). He's a pretty strategic guy, after all--even if things tend to go off-script if say, Luffy is involved.

Inspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

Having an s/o has helped him significantly with some of his emotional issues surrounding Corazon's death. He has his nakama who he trusts completely, but being close with someone in a romantic context is new to him. It's not like he has that much real-world experience with romance and dating, since his adolescence and young adulthood has been...not ideal for that sort of thing. He's gotten better at not just freezing up in surprise whenever his s/o kisses him, and actually taking some initiative to give affection in return. Between his trust issues with new people and how cold he comes off sometimes, he's actively tried to work through those problems so he can be the partner his s/o deserves. Bepo and the rest of the crew have noticed how Law has started to smile and laugh more after he met you, and how he's a bit less wound-up when he's stressed.

Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Law's not that jealous, but he does have his moments. He pushes those feelings down and doesn't act on them (unless someone is actively flirting with his s/o or something blatant--then, he's going to have to step in and tell them to stop going after someone completely out of their league). At most, he'll sound more curt and will want to get his s/o away from the person making him jealous as soon as possible.

Kiss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

Law's first kiss with his s/o was equal parts adorable and awkward. Aside from one or two drunken one-night encounters while traveling the seas, he doesn't have much experience in this area--and when it comes to kisses as a form of genuine romantic affection, he had NO experience until his s/o kissed his cheek one night when they were alone on the Polar Tang. He was so surprised by it that he just sort of...froze up and stared straight ahead for a while. Eventually he'd realize that he should probably return this gesture, and he would awkwardly turn around before kissing her with little-to-no-technique in mind. It's short, only a few seconds before he pulls away to gauge their reaction; judging by the sweet smile on their face at finally getting a kiss from him, he couldn't have been that terrible. His s/o immediately leaned forward to kiss him again, and it led to Law learning quite a bit in one evening about how to kiss someone.

Love Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?

Law wouldn't do any dramatic or grand gestures when confessing. I think it would be really obvious that he's in love with you, so it's just a matter of not revealing that you already know when he finally says it. He'd be more quiet than usual one night, going over exactly what he was going to say to you. When you ask him if he's alright, he immediately blanks on what he had planned to say and just says "...I love you."

Marriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

Because of the target it might place on your back for being his spouse, he would be hesitant to propose. But over time, he would start to imagine what you'd look like with a ring on your finger, introducing yourself to people as Trafalgar ____...eventually he'd conclude that just being with him as an s/o puts you in danger, and you don't care about the danger because you care about him more.

Much like his love confession, he'd have what he wants to say planned out...but the second you look at him with those warm, kind eyes of yours and ask why he's acting so nervous, he'd just take out the ring and ask you to marry him. When you say yes, he slips the ring on your finger, holds you close, and tells you that he loves you with a small smile on his face.

Your relationship wouldn't change that much after getting married, aside from him being more openly affectionate sometimes when you're on an island together. Calling you his husband/wife/spouse always gives him a strange, almost giddy feeling in his chest the instant he says it out loud. You two are married. He's...your husband. It's an odd thing to think about, but it's odd in a good way; he's kind of surprised that he managed to find someone who he'd want to marry and who would want to marry him. His one regret is that Corazon wasn't able to meet you, and during the small ceremony on the Polar Tang, he leaves one seat empty for him.

Nicknames - What do they call their s/o?

He normally just calls you your name, or a shortened version of it, ("Jess" instead of Jessica, "Tony" instead of Anthony) when you guys are around other people. Sometimes on the Tang, he'll call you "honey" and the rest of the crew is ecstatic whenever they hear him call you that...to his slight embarrassment. They just think it's so cute to hear him call you "honey".

On Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

He tends to stare at the person he's in love with, and is just awful at saying how he feels to them. He'll have what he wants to say to them planned out in his head, and the instant he goes to open his mouth he totally blanks. There are times where he's walked up to his s/o, panicked when he actually looked at them and was distracted by how attractive they looked, and how they always make him feel vulnerable, albeit in a good way...and just looks at them in silence for a while before walking away.

He's better at expressing his feelings in writing, so his love confession would probably include either a little written speech or bullet points of what he wants to say, or he'd give his crush a full letter and at the end, ask them to come to his room to talk privately.

PDA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

He's not big on PDA, since every time he is openly affectionate with you his crewmates can't help but remark at how cute it is to see you two together. He's also a bit of a shy guy when it comes to giving and receiving affection; if you kissed him on the cheek, he'd freeze for a second before awkwardly taking your hand or something. His PDA is more casual, like having you lean against him (or leaning against you) and taking your hand when you two are walking around. At the first sign of danger, he'll instinctively either take your hand or put an arm out in front of you.

Quirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

Law's a great listener, and he remembers a lot about the people he cares about. You could mention craving something for dinner and then a few days later, and he'll write down the ingredients for it; a few days later, he and Shachi are making it for the crew's dinner and he gives you the first place. He isn't one for grand romantic gestures, but he'll do little things like that because he cares about you and likes knowing that he made you feel happy and appreciated.

Romance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

As said previously, he's not one for big, romantic, Sanji-esque gestures; he thinks that kind of over-the-top sentiment would annoy you (and it would definitely annoy him). Some of the romantic gestures he displays are a bit cliche, though, in a sweet kind of way. He'll write short notes to his s/o when he wakes up before them, just to say where he's at; he'll always write "good morning" at the top though, and sometimes will add little cute messages as well: "You looked like you were dreaming about something nice, so I didn't want to wake you", "It's cold out and I already wish I was back in bed with you", etc.

Support - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

He's absolutely helping his s/o reach their goals, no matter what they are. A lot of his help comes in the form of advice and constructive criticism when he thinks something isn't a good idea; it's usually said a bit bluntly, but it's not meant to be an insult. He's saying these things from a genuine place, but he doesn't realize how cold and blunt he can sound sometimes.

Thrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

With how chaotic life as a pirate captain (and a Supernova...and a former Warlord, lol) can be, he enjoys the little routines he has with his crew and his s/o. Waking up in the morning, going to bed at night, eating meals with you, Bepo, Shachi, Penguin, Ikkaku, the whole family...he treasures it not despite how mundane it is, but because of how mundane it is.

Understanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

He's an intuitive guy...at times. When you're upset about something, he can tell that you are in fact upset, but he tends not to know why you are. Even if you two previously had an argument over him being too protective, and you're a bit more sulky a few days later, he'd actually wonder what you might be upset about. Similar to Luffy, he's equal parts observant and ignorant sometimes.

Value - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?

His relationship is one of THE most important things to them. Prior to meeting his nakama and falling in love with his s/o, he had almost lost hope in his ability to actually feel love at all--familial, platonic, or romantic. When he became the captain of the Heart Pirates, he realized that he could love again. He realized it again when he met his s/o. And he would sacrifice anything if it meant he could keep them safe.

Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.

He LOVES. LOOOOVES seeing you wear his clothes. He’ll be looking for his hat, see you in bed wearing it just for fun, and he feels a stereotypically romantic fluttering in his chest. It’s such a romantic cliche, so he tries to hide how much it affects him...he’s not that good at hiding it, though.

XOXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?

He's more affectionate in private, compared to when there are people watching; though if he's on the Polar Tang with his crew, he doesn't mind being affectionate either (though he gets a little embarrassed when they talk about how sweet it is to see him being cute with you). He likes leaning on you when you're sitting together (or when you lean on him), having you rest on his lap while he reads a book or something, having his hand on yours or on your thigh or shoulder...his PDA is very casual.

Yearning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

He tries to "logic" his way out of missing them, if that makes sense. He'll remind himself that it'll only be a few more weeks until he gets to safely see you again, and that he's had to wait longer to see you--he can wait a little longer. He'll also try not to think of how much he misses you too often, but it still always manages to enter his mind.

Zeal - Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of?

Law would absolutely kill for his s/o (and probably has, if the Marines or other enemies have ever tried to hurt them). And as for the farthest he'd go...If he had to make a decision that meant either his s/o and crew or say, Luffy and the Straw Hats? If he was pushed into a corner and absolutely could NOT find a way to save them both, he'd choose his s/o and his nakama.
