i do fundamentally agree with the idea that stuff like 'man' and 'women' dont have to be mutually exclusive, people can identify as whatever they want, and gender is there to be played around with as much as anyone likes. but i do feel like we're seeing a trend amongst some subsets of people where they can't hold those beliefs and Also accept the fact that as it stands 'woman' is still a very real and important political class of people. like it really would be great if we were in a place culturally where gender categorizations werent very politically relevant. but they clearly are. and i feel like a lot of people in an attempt to find an understanding of gender that makes them more comfortable have subconsciously kind of abandoned a framework that calls for a structured women's lib movement.
and it's like, on one side you have large swathes of the population who still aren't fully sold on the whole 'women are people' thing. and then on the other side you have a group who correctly understand that the whole gender thing is pretty bullshit. but then, instead of using feminism as a platform to try and build towards a world that reflects those ideals politically they have just kind of retreated fully into idpol and abandoned the scraps of the feminist framework to the radfems to re-appropriate into. fucking. nouveau phrenology.
it just sucks man it feels like we're sort of at an all time low in regards to public interest in meaningful feminism that i've witnessed in my lifetime.

Kay you know that long ass post I just reblogged? With the absolutely unhinged antisemitic person tweets?
I saw someone in the notes being like “as a member of the Pro Palestine camp, we do not claim them!” And I’m like…
That’s the fucking problem. Because they ARE YOU. That kind of unapologetic antisemitic racist conspiracy? Is RAMPANT in Pro Palestine spaces. Online and in the real world. And at BEST people just ignore it and let it happen and at worst they AGREE with it.
You can’t just “they’re not with us” with this when I have yet to see a SINGLE fucking post about being Pro Palestine that doesn’t have someone in the comments devolving into antisemitic bullshit. They ARE with you- they are constantly there. And you guys need to fucking clean house because at this point? Idgaf if you say you “don’t claim them”, because there are enough of them that your movement is not only entirely unsafe for Jews, but at least 75% of the shit I see posted in the name of being Pro Palestinian is actually just antisemitic as fuck.

"but hamas is getting funded by extremist islamic hate groups!" do you think the U.S. government and military giving funding for israeli's war efforts against palestinians is a morally neutral and inherently righteous body that had no influence in the politics of southwest asia as a global colonial superpower. do you really think anything you can say about the people resisting oppression can't be said about the oppressors.

On July 25, 1946, a horrifying incident unfolded involving two young African American couples: George Dorsey and his pregnant wife, Mae Murray, along with Roger Malcom and his wife, Dorothy Malcom. They were in the car of their employer, Loy Harrison, who was driving them home. However, their journey took a grim turn when they encountered a mob of white individuals blocking off Moore's Ford bridge in Georgia.
The situation escalated quickly as the two men were forcibly pulled from the car and subjected to a brutal beating. In a tragic turn of events, one of the women recognized a member of the mob, leading to both women being dragged from the vehicle and tied to a tree beside their husbands. All four victims were then shot dead. To further compound the horror, Mae Murray had her fetus forcibly removed from her body.
Despite the murders occurring in broad daylight, the killers were never apprehended. One potential motive emerged when it was revealed that earlier in the month, Roger Malcom had allegedly stabbed a white man named Barnette Hester. Malcom was released on bail, a sum paid by his employer, Loy Harrison.
The lack of justice in this case underscores the deeply rooted racial tensions and systemic failures prevalent during that era, as well as the tragic consequences borne by innocent lives caught in the crossfire of prejudice and violence.

Heya, I've been following for a bit and I really love your art. It inspires me too do art as well. Like wh art! Also cause I've always loved dragons. But anyway, I'd like to ask if you have any art tips? Like how you do fur, body shapes (human or etc), showing movement in drawing, etc, etc. Thanks for being awesome and have a lovely day!
hmmmm my best advice is to keep your pencil/penstrokes Gentle and Sweepy! when you press hard and make tiny lines instead of longer, lighter ones, your art will be more rigid. ya gotta loosen up a little!
also - and i will Always say this again and again - build up your visual inventory. study photos, real life, videos. especially videos. it helps you really See how animals (including humans) are put together, how they move, the squish n stretch, etc.
and! this may be a Hot Take idk! but you dont need to learn anatomy, at least not in the "take a real life class and once you can draw an accurate to life person/animal, you can stylize" like hmmmm no. try to visualize things as Puzzles! at least that's what helps me the most! everything is just a bunch of different shapes pieced together into a whole. once you understand that, it gets easier to play around with fluidity and style

show pony hcs?
WOO SHOW PONY YEAH OF COURSE
They're Dr D's actual nephew and grew up visiting him and being a little helper at the radio station he's had since the nineties.
No sense of self preservation honestly, okay so this is like my favorite headcanon for them just because its silly and they're a badass. So they grew up visiting LA but dr d took them away from it before the and of the wars so they never lived in it while it turned into battery city, and they've never been captured, but they have indeed been to battery city. Because they've broken in. Solely to be gay do crime. They sneak into the city to graffiti shit and flirt with pornodroids and recruit them to throw bricks into windows with them(not of apartments or townhomes, just the research and bli buildings and occasional business). They wear their skates or bring a skateboard, they dont drive, half the time they bring a boombox, blasting the fucking beastie boys or something in the middle of the night while they skate around the city, and somehow theyve never been noticed by bli or had to fight their way out, theyre crazy and i love them
Punk as shit, you don't grow up with your cool uncle that was openly gay in the nineties without learning that capitalism sucks and cops aren't your friends. Its a big part of why they sneak into the city and be a nuisace, becuse they want to do more than just fight from the zones, because that city was their home once, before bli took it over and put up the walls, and unlike most joys who hate battery city and just want to burn it to the ground, pony wants to save it. They want to cause a more direct change, something physical thats there in the morning, so that the juvie halls and city folk can see it and see bli working to scrub away grafiiti and fix shattered windows and they'll all know theres someone else out there that doesn't agree with bli, fighting for them and maybe theyll be inspired to do more too. And its why they recruit the droids or juvie halls they come across and put a brick in their hand, because the power that comes with that, the inspiration, it spreads, because Pony's read the stories about the Stonewall riots and knows that if enough of the city could unite to fucking fight from the inside, they could make a real change.
Cherri's their older brother, not biologically but they dont care, they were both too young to fight in the wars but thats where they met, when dr d was looking after them and took cherri in when he lost his dad, who was dr d's friend. They grew up in the zones together, learned to shoot together, figured out out who they are together, they're fuckin siblings.
Their gender is whatever annoys you the most at the moment, it also depends on who theyre around around, like with Poison they're like im ur girlfriend vs with Cherri like yeah im your brother. They dont care what people call them.
Childhood best friends with Newsie but you'd never know it. They fight like siblings but they're thick as theives. When the wars started they were kids that thought theyd never see eachother again, but they reunited years later as killjoys
They're crazy friendly, like terrifyingly outgoing. They love everybody and everybody loves them but they manage to stay pretty humble about it
Theyr'e super dramatic and LOVE to gossip
Horrible artist, cant draw for shit. Great at collages though, they make all the zines and posters for radio shows. You can tell when they made one because there's glitter on it.
Has a helmet. Never wears it.
Proud polycule girlfriend of jet star and party poison

George Junius Stinney, Jr., a 14-year-old African American boy, was the youngest person ever to be executed in the United States during the 20th century.
On 16 June, 1944, guards led him to the electric chair at a South Carolina prison. George, who stood at only 5'1" and and weighed 95 pounds, had to sit on a Bible to fit into the adult-sized electric chair. The straps did not fit him, and an electrode was too big for his leg, but he was electrocuted anyway. Witnesses recoiled in horror as the death mask fell from his face, and tears streamed from his eyes.
George was accused of killing two young white girls, 11-year-old Betty June Binnicker and 8-year-old Mary Emma Thames. They were beaten with a railroad spike and dragged to a ditch near Acolu, about five miles from Manning, in central South Carolina. The girls' bodies were found a day after they disappeared, and George was arrested a few hours later when white men in suits came to take him away.
Due to the risk of a lynching, George was held at a jail 50 miles away from his home in Columbia, South Carolina. His father, who had helped search for the missing girls, was fired from his job and ordered to leave his home and workplace. George's family were also told to leave town prior to the trial to avoid further retribution. The courthouse was filled with an atmosphere of lynch mob hysteria during the trial. Without any family visits, the 14-year-old had to endure the trial and death alone.
The trial was found to have been unfair and racially motivated, with no real evidence linking George Stinney to the crime. His conviction was eventually posthumously pardoned 70 years after his execution on December 17, 2014. .
