The Golden Girls

Farewell to a Daughter (in C Major) | 1.7k one-shot | Sophia & Dorothy | When Dorothy walks down the aisle for the first time, sometime in the 1950s, Sophia mourns the loss of her daughter.

the finish line | 6.7k, 2/2 chapters | Dorothy/Rose/Blanche | my attempt to reconcile Dorothy's marriage to Lucas with aforementioned ship. Lying awake in her new bed, in her new home, next to her new husband, Dorothy tries not to cry herself to sleep for the umpteenth time since getting married. She reflects on what really brought her here — and she finally faces up to the fears that pushed her over the edge.

A retrospective of Dorothy's life, exploring her chronic fatigue and the exhaustion she felt in the years before, during her marriage to Stan.

The darkness around her | 1.8k one-shot | Lan & Moiraine | Lan worries about Moiraine during a moment of quiet in their journey through the Ways. Because even if she does her best to hide it, he can still feel what she feels through their bond.

To the Manor Born

From Afar | 1.4k one-shot | Brabinger & Audrey | Christmas at Grantleigh hasn't always been as warm as the one of '81. Brabinger reminisces on the change throughout the years; once in '71, and once in '81.

What's Akashi and Ozu relationship ??

I just finished to watch both Tatami Galaxy and Tatami Time Machine Blues, which are both amazing anime !

Like many, I always assumed that Ozu and Akashi were both disciple of Higushi and therefore friends. The protagonist even sees Ozu as a potential threat that could steal the love of his life, so naturally I kinda saw it as a weird love triangle. I mean the protagonist have two hands, why not love them both right ?

But in episode 6 of TTMB the protagonist drop the info that Akashi is Ozu's little sister, like out of nowhere ?! I even wondered if it was a subtitle mistake, but when I listened to it again he indeed says 小津の妹 (TS 11:19) while referring to Akashi.

So now I wonder, since I haven't read the novels yet: is that a fact we know earlier in the book ? Or did they really just drop this information that late in the story ? I don't hate it, I think it gives a new interesting interpretation of their relationship. But I'm surprised to learn such an important element literally on the last episode... And I'm even more surprised that nobody's talking about it ?!

I know that the fandom is quite small, but I'd love to hear about your opinion on Ozu and Akashi relationship. In general I'd love to talk about TG with other fans tbh, because it's such a nice show. My DMs are open anyway so don't hesitate to come talk to me if you want !

EDIT Someone kindly explained to me that, since Akashi became one of Higushi’s disciple after Ozu, he was often refereeing to her as his "little sister disciple", which is also more obvious in the novel than the anime. So on that last episode, when the protagonist is refeering to Akashi as Ozu's little sister, it's in the sense of Ozu's junior as Higushi's disciple. Which to be honest, wasn't translated very well in the subtiltles. But I'm happy to know that no, they didn't forget to mention that Ozu and Akashi were related, as fun as it was to imagine them being actual siblings. (Like, if the protagonist really marry Akashi as it's implied, it means Ozu would have become his stepbrother... It'd have work very well with them being linked by the black tread of fate, don't you think ?)

I don’t know why or how this popped into my head, but this morning I just randomly thought of the GHD and TtMB crews all getting together in a modern day setting and having a movie night. Everyone all cozied up in the living room with Haldis bringing tea and Locke bringing cocoa and I don’t have enough room to explain the full picture in this text box. But I love the idea and wanted to share it!

ahhhhhhh I love this image so so much!!!! Blue would do his best to take up as much space on the couch as possible, while also trying to hoard as many of the blankets as possible, and Locke would make sure to bring the good hot cocoa, with the mini marchmallows in it!

Bolte would be a little on the uncertain side about it all, but Red would probably really like Haldis tea! (and if captain were there, too, she would absolutely love the tea!)

ok so i have thought and thought about this and thought some more and thought myself into a small crisis so i am just going to look at my ao3 and see what feels right

meet you in the back under exit lights (M, 17k) indie luke journalist calum, my best characters and best paced fic. i think this is the fic that says the most about me as a writer in terms of set up and delivery

and what if you'd never smiled at me (T, 15k) rival bakers and shy calum!!! it's taken me a while to come around to liking this one but the work did pay off. also making both of them bakers, obviously. i think the baking motif is cute i liked that i tried that

walmart sonata (M, 33k) the fic i have put the most work into by far! nearly deleted it in the first 24 hours but i have gone back to sample some of the texting in this fic and that's why its made this list. i literally went full romcom

the flatmate arrangement (T, 20k) a fic i am scared to reread but i can't really ignore in this context. just happy this made several people happy!

and i don't really know if i have a fifth that stands out? maybe let's throw in a wildcard
