Christmas. The holiday season that everyone around you seemed to love. You however struggled this time of year, being so far away from what little family you had left was never easy on a regular day, holidays just amplified that longing - something Bradley could relate to all too well.
You couldn’t lie, you loved how the twinkling Christmas lights helped to cheer in the cold, dark nights. But you dreaded being alone, when everyone around you couldn’t stop raving about going home for the holidays and growing more and more excited, while your seasonal depression worsened.
At the first mention of tnr holiday season, Bradley was expecting you to be full of seasonal cheer, but in a way was gladly surprised that you too had lacked the stereotypical family atmosphere during the holidays. He lost both his parents and have a very fractured relationship with Maverick, his only real family, which led to many years he spent the entire holiday season alone. You had very little family left, those who you did have, an estranged aunt and uncle you barely knew, lived halfway across the world. The relationship between you was basically nonexistent, and there was no way ok your meagre salary, that you could afford to fly out to spend the holidays with them.
When you had met Bradley, you were initially cautious of his attitude towards the holiday period. There was no way you could be in a friendship or a relationship with someone who lives and breathes the season. You wouldn’t be able to stand it. You heart lifted when it was revealed that Bradley had the same attitude as you, he wasn’t going to try and change you and your feelings. Instead, he’d respect them and let you celebrate however much or little you wanted.
When December arrived, you immediately became much more gloomy and irritated. You didn’t need to look at the calendar to know the reasoning behind your sudden distaste for everything and everyone around you. The nights grew longer and darker, and you felt less and less like yourself. Bradley had severely underestimated how much you disliked the holidays, assuming you were just being over dramatic like you were known to be on subjects you felt strongly about. He swore that his heart physically hurt knowing how much you hated the holidays, the switch from your usual chipper routine, to barely being able to drag yourself out of bed for work.
You sighed heavily, collapsing onto the sofa, ignoring the snort from Bradley at your dramatics. “What now?” He chuckled, you got very dramatic around stressful situations, and the holiday season was the highlight. Truly he did care about how you were doing, but he only found amusement in these situations due to the one time you broke down crying laughing at how badly you’d overreacted over a tiny trivial thing, he knew you’d never take offence to his laughter.
“I completely forgot that everybody decides to do their Christmas shopping so incredibly last minute!! Like, why are you shopping for presents the week before the holidays?!” You huffed dramatically, unable to withhold your laughter at Bradley’s expression, trying desperately to hold a straight face while you acted out your day. “I don’t know, baby. But I’m thankful for them providing me with this entertainment.” You gasped in faux outrage at his words, grabbing a pillow from beside you and throwing it in his direction without looking, yelling in victory when you heard him yell at the unanticipated contact.
Bradley was cautious about voicing his next statement, already anticipating you to blow up at him, but being polite like his mother raised him to be, “Y’know, you shouldn’t be cooped up in your tiny apartment for Christmas.” He held the cushion in front of him, a pathetic attempt at a shield from your incoming wrath. Eyes widening at your sudden silence, he was quick to add, “Bub…I just meant, I also have to spend the holidays alone, in this big empty house.” He’s by your side now, hands running placatingly on your arms. “What if we spend it together? We can pick out a tree from that lot that Bob can’t stop raving about, you can teach me to bake those cookies we talked about, maybe just make it like any other day, if that’s what you really want?”
Your tense expression melted, tears seeking up in your eyes, not entirely certain whether it was due to the season, or your loving, highly attentive to detail boyfriend’s reaction and creation of alternatives for you, other than your entirely more depressing current tradition of spending the day in your bed, pillow over your head and duvet pulled over you.
Bradley froze at your sudden emotional breakdown. Presuming he had spoken out of turn and instead of pissing you off, had broken your heart, something he swore to himself and his parents that he would never do to you. Internally panicking momentarily, relaxing when you merely snuggled closer to him, curling up on his lap, your head buried in his neck.
Tumblr media
The house was cold. That was the first thing you noticed when you got to Bradley’s late after your shift on Christmas Eve. You lived in San Diego. It did not get this cold, ever. Frowning, you trudge through the entryway, kicking off your shoes, then wincing as your socked feet meet the cold tiled floor. You called out for Bradley, he had texted you before you left work, asking you to come over, you assumed for a quick present swap. He had been ignoring your texts and calls since you gave him confirmation that you would be there. He must’ve turned the air conditioning down as low as it could go, which in summer would have been luxurious, but now?
Now, the drizzle and gloom outside was continued indoors, which kept you frowning as you move through the house looking for Bradley.
Hearing soft humming of Christmas songs from the kitchen, you scurry through the house, keeping your feet off the cold floor as best you could. You’d have to get Bradley to fix the AC. “Woah! Stop there! Close your eyes, this is a surprise, sweetheart!” You groaned, reluctantly closing your eyes, feeling a warm presence move in front of you, a soft kiss being pressed to the top of your head as a soft silk is tied delicately over your eyes.
“Bradley…” you whine softly, trusting him, but clueless as to where this was going. He chuckled, his breath fanning gently onto your cheek, a welcome warmth from the chill in the air. Rubbing his hand up and down your arms, appreciative that you were still in your thin work uniform, trying to warm you back up as best he could, “I’m gonna lead you upstairs, then I’m changing you into something warmer, okay?” You whined at the sheer unknown, but gave into the significant trust you had in your boyfriend.
He carefully pulled off your uniform, his warm hands welcome against your cold skin, goosebumps erupting down your arms. A soft, fleecy, warm shirt was pulled up your arms, and Bradley buttoned it up with immense care and precision. Next were the fleecy pants, which you felt were too long for you, and giggled as Bradley pulled on a fresh pair of fuzzy socks. You squealed as Bradley scooped you up bridal style, peppering your face with soft kisses, chuckling at your soft laughter.
Downstairs, he places you gently onto the couch, greeted now by a warmth the room lacked when you arrived. Warm breath fans gently across your cheek as Bradley gently unties the blindfold, squinting as your eyes adjust to the light. The room is bathed in a soft warm light, the scraggly tree you both had picked out and decorated the week before was twinkling softly, but wasn’t what made your eyes well with tears. The fireplace that usually stayed empty due to the warm California weather, was crackling with fresh logs, the fire casting a warm and cosy glow over the entire room.
There was also an extra stocking hanging from the mantle. Where usually there were just three - Goose, Carole and Bradley - there was one with your name lovingly hand stitched, matching the theme of the original trio. Swallowing thickly you glance at Bradley who shrugged nonchalantly, "I didn't have anyone else to spend Christmas with. Hope you don't mind if I spend it with you. Share old traditions…Maybe make some of our own…”
Throwing yourself at him, you hug Bradley tightly. It had been mentioned only in passing that growing up you never had your own stocking like most children, and your only happy holiday memory was spending quality time snuggled together with your family in front of the fireplace.
Bradley ran a soothing hand across your cheek, wiping away the tears you were unaware had started to fall. You had never had someone pay such attention to minute details you shared, not expecting them to remember them months later.
But Bradley was not someone from your past.
He is your future.
Tumblr media
Several classic Christmas movies later, you were snuggled closely against Bradley’s side, under one of the seasonal blankets he ‘allowed’ you to keep at his place, It’s a Wonderful Life playing in the background. Your half drunk mugs of hot chocolate sat on the coffee table alongside platters of sweet treats Bradley had bought just for the two of you to share, alongside the decorated sugar cookies that the pair of you had made from an old recipe of Carole’s.
Humming contentedly, you crane your neck to glance up at the face of your loving boyfriend, feeling your eyes on him, he turns, kissing you lovingly, pulling you closer to him. “Happy?” You nod against his shoulder, “This is the best Christmas I’ve had in years, Bradley.” He smiles softly at your words, “You know, if you wanted…” He shrugged, trailing off, frowning, you shift and straddle his lap to get a better look at him. “What? If I wanted to what?” Bradley shook his head, a bashful expression on face, narrowing your eyes, you grabbed his chin gently, forcing him to look at you again.
“I wanna spend every Christmas like this with you.”
“Every Christmas?”
He nods.
“Move in with me.”
“Yes.”
“Why? Because I miss you when you’re not- Wait, yes?! You’ll move in?!” His expression frozen, not believing his ears.
Nodding and kissing him once, his eyes light up, grin taking over his face, laughing joyfully, tugging you close to his chest, covering your face in kiss after kiss after kiss. You join him in laughter at his reaction, tugging him down to lay on top of you, being lovingly overwhelmed by everything Bradley.
If this is how every Christmas would end up, snuggled up in front of a fireplace with the love of your life?
If this is what your future looks like, then you couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your life with Bradley.

Boring Tools Safety Guide
Tumblr media
Boring tools, essential in many different sectors, must be handled carefully to ensure user safety and optimize efficiency. These powerful tools are essential in manufacturing, construction, and many other industries. To avoid mishaps, limit injuries, and guarantee the effective functioning of these tools, close attention to safety protocols is important. This dedication to ethical usage entails learning the specifics of each tool, carrying out routine extremapps, and abiding by operating safety regulations. With this, a safe work environment can be created that promotes productivity and prevents accidents by placing a high priority on safety standards. This is the reason why it is advised to purchase these essential tools from reliable and genuine boring tools suppliers in Bangalore, one like FineTech Toolings, an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, where precision is a culture and continuous innovation a belief. Yet, it is important to always follow some essential tips and precautions for using boring tools responsibly, some of which are mentioned in the blog below.
Personal Protective Equipment
When using boring tools, the first and most important line of defence against possible risks is to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. The necessity of donning a full suite of personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and proper clothing, is emphasized. Safety glasses serve as eye protection, guarding against possible collisions, flying debris, and dust. Earmuffs or earplugs, which provide protection against the damaging effects of extended exposure to loud noises produced by the tools, are examples of hearing protection. Gloves function as a barrier to protect the hands, lowering the possibility of cuts, abrasions, or contact with potentially dangerous substances. Finally, wearing the right clothes guarantees covering, thus reducing skin exposure. When used in tandem, personal protection equipment forms a strong barrier that isolates the user from any potential dangers related to using boring tools. People may improve their personal safety, reduce the risk of injury, and make the workplace a safer place to work by making the use of appropriate safety gear a priority.
Tool inspection and maintenance
The cornerstone of safe tool usage is routine inspection and maintenance, which guarantees peak performance and reduces possible dangers. The need for pre-operation inspections as a basic procedure is emphasized. People should carefully examine blades, bits, and power sources before using them to look for any indications of wear, damage, or malfunction. While power supplies should be checked for loose connections, frayed cables, or other obvious problems, blades and bits should be sharp and free of cracks or abnormalities. Stressing the value of these inspections is essential to averting faults and unforeseen events when the machine is in operation. Regular upkeep, such as cleaning, lubrication, and calibrating, extends the life and effectiveness of boring tools. Updating worn-out parts, making sure the alignment is correct, and routinely inspecting and tightening bolts are all essential to keeping the equipment reliable. Following a planned maintenance schedule helps users extend the life of the tool and lowers the risk of malfunctions, accidents, and interruptions while it’s in use, which fosters a safer and more efficient workplace.
Operational safety tips
Operational safety is essential when using boring tools to guarantee a safe working environment. In order to avoid unanticipated movements during operation, users must give effective workpiece security top priority. To improve control and lower risks, keeping the posture steady, distributing the body weight evenly, and firmly holding the tool are all important aspects. Furthermore, emphasizing how important it is to plan the tool path guarantees a methodical approach and reduces the possibility of unanticipated contacts with barriers or abnormalities in the material. Maintaining a tidy workstation is essential to avoid tripping risks and enable unhindered tool movement. Users should also modify the depth and speed of their tools based on the material they are working with. Comprehending the characteristics of the material helps to avoid overheating, minimizes tool wear, and improves overall performance. By encouraging a proactive and cautious attitude, these operational safety measures greatly lower the chance of mishaps and injuries when using boring tools.
Electrical and power tool safety
Electrical safety should always come first while using electric-powered boring equipment. It’s important to utilize extension cables properly. In order to prevent overloading circuits, users should use cables that have a sufficient power rating for the device in question. To avoid electrical risks, make sure cords are free from damage like cuts or frays. It is necessary to ground electric-powered tools in order to securely divert possible electrical currents. Three-pronged plugs and grounded outlets must always be used. One non-negotiable part of electrical safety is avoiding damp situations. Because there is a significant risk of electric shock while working with water and electricity, it is essential to keep equipment, wires, and outlets dry. By stressing these electrical safety precautions, it guarantees that users are aware of how to avoid electrical risks, and promotes a safe working environment when using electric-powered boring tools.
Dust and debris management
Controlling the dust and debris that boring tools generate is essential to preventing respiratory risks. The need of taking proactive steps to reduce exposure and guarantee a secure workplace is emphasized. One of the main tactics for managing airborne particles is the use of dust collection devices. By capturing and containing dust at its source, these devices stop it from circulating into the atmosphere. By putting such devices in place, the danger of respiratory problems brought on by breathing in small particles is significantly reduced. Wearing respiratory protection becomes necessary when dust collection equipment alone may not be sufficient. An extra line of protection is provided by respirators, such as masks or respirator cartridges, especially while handling dust-producing products or in poorly ventilated spaces. Finally, maintaining a workstation with adequate ventilation is essential to reducing the amount of airborne particles present. A steady flow of fresh air is ensured by adequate ventilation, which lowers the chance of respiratory exposure to dangerous dust. Using these tactics, any health hazards and potential respiratory diseases brought on by extended exposure to airborne particles can be avoided, in addition to fostering a better work atmosphere.
Emergency procedures
When using boring tools, it’s important to be prepared for emergencies. It is imperative that users acquaint themselves with fundamental first aid protocols, encompassing measures for managing wounds, burns, and other injuries that could arise when operating a tool. It is critical to have an easily accessible first aid kit at the workspace. Supplies like bandages, antiseptic wipes, and any other things required should be included in the box. The speed at which first aid supplies may be obtained can have a big impact on how an injury turns out. Also, instant reporting of any incidents or tool malfunctions must be carried out so as to guarantee a prompt reaction, and help to maintain continuous safety improvements. The integration of emergency procedures into safety protocols enables prompt addressing of unanticipated circumstances, and promotes a safer working environment while using power tools. Keeping a safe and effective workspace requires being ready for anything and acting quickly when it does.
This safety guide, which promotes safe and responsible activities, is a priceless tool for anybody using boring tools. By implementing suggestions, safety measures, and insights into their everyday activities, the accuracy and productivity of boring tools can be enhanced, while also guaranteeing the safety of workers. Putting safety first should not simply be a habit; it should be a dedication to establishing an environment in the workplace where people may use boring tools with assurance, knowing that their health and safety come first.

WFH is great until your mom yells from behind “uth chai bana de”
If you’ve ever been stuck in torrential rain waiting for a delayed train after a long day at office, the chances are pretty decent that you’ve thought about working remotely at least once or twice.
There was a time when Work from home was a fantasy for everyone until we all got attacked by pandemic. Wherein we actually want the hectic schedule rather than working remotely. WFH is in favor for someone as an introvert like me and a disaster for an extrovert who loves roaming around in the office greeting everyone with a smile and gossiping with every second person in the office. Without having an office where you need to share pleasantries with your coworkers, boss, and clients, you need to find alternative methods of socializing with people on your own time.
  Challenges:
Sounds appealing right? No more setting the alarm for 6 am. No more sitting in your cubicle all day, your only escape a measly hour for lunch. You can set your own hours and work when you feel it. Freedom is yours!
Expect it doesn’t work that way.
Juggling work, household chores, and parenting responsibilities along with fear of infection and job loss can put a dent in performance, motivation and productivity. On the other side of the coin, when you work from home, you no longer have a clear geographic division between workspace and your personal life. Ideally, your home is a place of relaxation, safety, and security. It’s a place where you subconsciously slip into a calm, easygoing state of mind , putting the stresses of the workday behind you and have a beautiful evening with your family.
Feeling of disconnection and social isolation:
Even in normal situations, managing remote employees is more challenging than managing regular office workers because Emotional health is a priority now because living and working in confined conditions for a long time takes a mental toll. Moreover, people who have so far been accustomed to working in an office setting may find remote work very lonely. Only now have team members and managers begun to realize how much time and effort it takes to communicate properly across screens. They cannot reach out to each other as easily as they would in a physical office, and this makes people feel disconnected from the company. Direct reports may feel that their managers are out of touch with their reality and cannot help them solve their problems.
Screen Fatigue: You’re probably hearing people complain about ‘Zoom fatigue’ or ‘meeting fatigue’. Managing remote employees via video conferencing has given rise to a new challenge – that of screen fatigue due to back-to-back meetings. People are turning away from their screens in exhaustion, citing headaches and eye strain. It is more tiring to look at a screen for a prolonged time than it is to have face-to-face conversations. It is more tiring to look at a screen for a prolonged time than it is to have face-to-face conversations. In addition to the laptops, team members are also looking at conventional screens like phones, tablets, or television. It fatigues the eyes, causes loss of focus, and decreases attention span. Naturally, people cannot work efficiently because of these issues.
Breakdown of effective communication: Perhaps the biggest challenge of managing remote employees during the COVID-19 pandemic is effective communication.  As you and your team members must have discovered by now, it isn’t quite as simple as shooting off a few emails and calling a meeting. Your direct reports can’t casually walk up to your desk for a quick chat. You can’t see each other in the office and you have to make an effort to know who is working on what. This ‘blindness’ leads to an interesting situation–people tend to think the worst when they receive a negative message. For instance, if you get a brusque e-mail from a colleague who you know is having a bad day, you tend to brush it off. But when you’re working from home, you have no context on what is happening at the other person’s end. This causes more misunderstandings, negativity, and friction within the team.
Communication & Coordination Challenges
It’s hard enough to hold productive in-person meetings to coordinate different team members’ efforts to remain aligned. When everyone works from home, it becomes all the harder to stay on the same page.
Human beings rely on nonverbal communication when they speak. But emails, phone calls, and even video calls remove much of the nuance from how we communicate. Just think back to the last time someone misinterpreted an email or text message you sent for a quick example.
This problem is so inherent in virtual businesses that an entire industry has sprung up to solve it. Team collaboration and communication tools like Slack exist specifically to make it easier for companies to stay in touch and stay organized. GoToMeeting is another popular choice for companies to stay in touch using video conferencing.
Since the majority of the global workforce is not used to working from home, this sudden change has led to many problems. They are just adjusting their seats to meet the organizational needs amidst everything that is happening around the world. Work from home is prominent but comes with a lot of challenges like communication and coordination with team, failing network is the biggest interruption “Uncle wifi nahi chal raha check karo” which impacts productivity, you may get distracted by your dog or just feel like going through some memes on Instagram (which unknowingly turns from seconds to minutes to even a hour sometimes) or just sibling’s silly fights or just in a mood to workout.
Productivity:
Sitting at home by yourself all day takes a toll. Humans are social animals. They need interaction with other people. Without a water cooler to swap jokes, stories, and shop talk around occasionally, telecommuters can get lonely. People working from home sometimes struggle with productivity. Working away from your co-workers, with only remote online meetings, risks emotional disconnection and apathy. It can also encourage procrastination .
You might find that it helps to have particular clothes for working at home. Dressing for work can set the right mental tone for the day – and avoid the awkwardness of being dialed in to a virtual meeting while you're still in your pajamas! Also, avoid going into certain areas of your home, or sitting in certain chairs, for example, so that you know when you're in "work mode," and when you're not.
Productivity at office was optimal as there were no distractions, you had a great working environment and also who doesn’t like working with their colleagues and friends like family rather than completing the given tasks alone. The lack of interaction that often comes with remote work can also be a detriment to team building – something that is built during meetings, lunches, chai/ coffee/ cigarette breaks or even water cooler conversations.
Challenges faced by HR:
HR managers have been at the center of these pandemic-generated changes from the beginning. They had to navigate new health and safety requirements, support managers in the new normal, reduce headcount in some cases, and keep up with required administrative processes. Organizations now have to rely more than ever on their HR departments to ensure their workforce feel as safe as possible during this unprecedented and unpredictable times.
Some of the challenges are-
Performance Appraisal like you actually are not aware if the employee has given its best due to working remotely as compared to work from office.
Team collaboration like if you have to give any cross training or learn a new process.
Employee engagement is also affected due to pandemic as there is no connect with the management and just virtual meets or seminar or activities conducted by HR but all of this has been now fixed into a rectangular display which is not giving desired results.
Health and safety is the utmost priority of the workers and as employee is an asset of the organization especially after pandemic HR also needs to look into health and safety measures.
Promotion cycle is been simulated as company actually doesn’t have the same promotion cycle period which eventually demotivates the employee.
  Challenges in Business continuity
If you’re working for yourself and think you can disregard administrative work, think again. You’ll probably end up doing more mundane administrative work than you ever did at your old day job. Ignoring business basics, like paying your bills, preparing your taxes, and invoicing clients, is a sure fire way to not only ruin your business but possibly trigger an audit with the IRS in the process.
Traditional jobs tend to come with paperwork, such as work reports, time sheets, travel expense reports, and accounts payable requests for freelancers and vendors. Still, each individual worker’s administrative work pales in comparison to the total amount needed to run a business. Beyond administrative work, businesses need systems in place to streamline all repetitive tasks. Otherwise, entrepreneurs spend all their working time on mundane work that doesn’t actually generate revenue and quickly go out of business.
Organizations are facing unprecedented times as the measures being deployed to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) are impacting capital markets, supply chain, and business operations. The uncertainties of the current environment serve as a powerful reminder to senior decision-makers of the need for risk management and crisis planning.
Business continuity will be on a toss due to few obstacles like technical problems such as data loss, data protection, technology failure, incident management software and so on, Workforce will need to be retrained to be update as per the new changes, taking utmost care of cash flow management like does the organization have sufficient funds to continue operations or have a plan of how to address unanticipated expenses.
This pandemic poses significant challenges and unlike many crises has unfolded much advance warning or scope for preparation. Nevertheless, there is a wealth of information and resources that organizations can use to weather the pandemic and its aftermath and can be accessed here. CEOs and small business owners may find it helpful to bring this information to their boards or other advisors to stimulate discussion on the issue.
Its just not the cons, here are some pros:
Remotely working comes with a slew of benefits from no setting up alarm, no daily commute in the morning, No strict dress code (unless you have online meeting!), get a more flexible work schedule to being work anywhere in the world, and every benefit comes with a challenge like managing your own schedule and time like we suddenly look at the clock and realize their kids want food, you need to have a proper division between workspace and personal space. Humans are social animals they need interaction with people, occasionally talk or no face-to-face interaction can get people lonely.
  New Learnings from the #NewNormal
As days progress, we see a positive adoption of the isolation, which was initially difficult to adjust to. So be it working from home, connecting with colleagues and teammates at a slightly more personal level, managing chores, and working more efficiently. People are now working around to make way for a new style of living.
Tools such as Zoom, Skype, and facilities such as conference calls earlier used exclusively for official meetings are increasingly used by people to connect with family, friends, and relatives. Every small act of kindness and courtesy, which was earlier absent, is now making a huge difference. People are now more appreciative of life, of things that were taken for granted before.

What's the point?
There is only two people I get to talk to everyday. (I only see my bf mornings and nights for an hour or weekends. And yes I live with him) One is a girl that hardly seams interested in what I say, or rather don't care, and another that I seam to hurt with being me. Now, I do understand why things hurt her, at least once it's explained how and ,well, told the fact that I hurt her to begin with. And when she explains me her point of view, I can see how it happend and at time will agree that it would have hurt me too if someone would do that to me and have I seen it in her perspective. But every time I explain that in MY Perspective, it was not done as such. I am not excusing the fact that I hurt her or anything, but I want to explain why it happened or as to why i didn't see it as something that would hurt her. But this is not just with her. This is with everyone. Every time I get in some sort of argument, people make me feel like everything I said before to them explaining why something happened, was never said. Coincidently, everything that would make my side of the story not make me look like a hartless, bitch, twoface, uncaring asswhole is what is fogoten. Making me explain everything all over again. It makes me wonder if you are listening to me (you in general not just these girls) or are you to drowned in your oun shit to even bother with mine. That's fine. It's understandable why it's hard to not be so drown in your problems because it's to much, but sometimes I wonder if you ever see why I don't speak, why I dont express my feelings, or as to why I don't want to interact sometimes. Because every time i do, someone gets hurt. Followed by me as you make me feel like my shit doesn't matter. What's the point in talking. For the past 4-5 days I've been unanting to talk. I don't see why I should. It's pointless. I have said everything I have to say. Everything else is in repeat. I could even hear it now. Maybe my words are constructed in different ways but it still has the same subject. The same meaning. All pointless when I have to repeat them again... #Depression #schizophrenia #repeat #cycle #misunderstood #aloof #Irreversible #tired
