Hey!! As a writer I want to know what's your take on confession scenes. Like best to worst? And personal faves!

hi hi! ooooooh, that's a good question! I'm gonna be honest, I don't think I remember a particularly bad confession lol, I think usually they're either basic & forgettable OR beyond iconic! here's the iconic ones that I literally adore beyond words, though:

SEANWHITE'S ROOFTOP CONFESSION

who is surprised this is the first confession I need to talk about? okay, okay no need to all raise your hand :'))) so one very special thing about not me is that there is no "I love you" or "I like you" said, yet both seanwhite & danyok are the most loving, strongest couples I know. seanwhite are literally the most lovey-dovey couple in existence, 100% written as soulmates, yet their love isn't expressed in the way we usually expect. in that respect, sean's confession on the rooftop which barely feels like one, is literally the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. "this is the goal that keeps me alive. and you are too." BITCH, THIS AIN'T A LOVE CONFESSION, THIS IS SEAN TELLING WHITE HE KEEPS HIM MOTHERFUCKING ALIVE!!! this is it, bruh. no other love scene hits this deep. I'm crying again. bye.

TEH & OH-AEW'S NIGHTLY CONFESSION

oh no, what a surprise that my other all time favorite bl is here too 😲 we were talking about confessions that aren't really one, and this falls in that category too! I just love how effortlessly the scene goes by, without ever saying "I like you", and the way oh-aew confronts teh about him liking him too in a way that is not attacking him but also not ignoring the reality of the feelings that they possess. a beautiful, calming scene that is burned in my heart forever, just like the entire show!

JACKZI'S STAIRS CONFESSION

there are very few scenes that make me cry bc of how heartfelt they are, and this is one of them! the acting is top tier, the writing absolutely beautiful & I cannot imagine this scene being more perfect than it is! it's not even a classic confession bc there's no "I love you" exchanged (very much a pattern for me atp lol), but simply zao zi saying "don't leave" is enough to convey how much these characters care for each other! this scene is beautiful despite it being incredibly sad, in a way that HITS so much bc they essentially have their most innocent, happy go-lucky character completely break down after a betrayal. it's, in my honest opinion, the actual saddest scene of the show bc it's so unexpected & cuts so deep. truly one of my all time favorite bl scenes & an absolutely amazing way to see these characters confirm their feelings for each other.

UNTWO'S MULTIPLE CONFESSIONS

so everyone must know that I'm the untwo queen, and it's truly bc both untwo confessions scenes are literally some of my favorite scenes EVER. the first one is a cinematic masterpiece! un is holding a door as he works on the decor for the student play, and two is the one to confront him about his feelings. this scene feels super raw & uncomfortable bc it truly IS for both characters, and ultimately, un, who wanted to escape from the situation, ends up professing his love for two who interrupts him bc he can't take it. this scene is pure tension & pain, just like I love them lol, and the metaphorical (and physical) door between un & two is an amazing concept for the shot!

the second confession is EVEN MORE ICONIC, though! theory of love is such a good show bc it's literally the best homage to movies I've ever seen, and after breaking things off with both un & linn, two finds a copy of 'the perks of being a wallflower' (a very good movie I love which makes this scene even more powerful imo) which is a movie he lent to p'un and the movie that unites them. realizing he can't let p'un move abroad, in perfect romcom cliche, two rushes to the pier where the last boat to the mainland has left, only for p'un to have already come there to confront two one last time. the scene that ensues is beautifully written, and the sentence "you know the answer" IS MAIN COUPLE IN AN ICONIC ROMCOM WORTHY!!! it hits so hard & is exactly why, despite untwo being only a side ship, they were my favorite ship for 3 years before seanwhite showed up lol.

ALSO kudos to tangmolove's confession where the acting is really good & phunnoh's confession that's so heartfelt!!! lmao this is truly just a list of some of my favorite ships :')

Theory of Love Rewatch Ep 12 Stray Thoughts

Last time, Third caught Khai in a compromising moment with Ching Ching and reacted to the betrayal he always expected by trying to hurt Khai back. They had an ugly fight that they both walked away from bloody, and Third ended up cutting off contact with Khai. Khai tried to reach out to Third, but didn't know what to do, so still got the tickets and waited to go on their beach trip. Two sided with Third and decided to skip in solidarity, but Bone didn't know anything that had happened and was dealing with his own shit. Third, realizing Khai thought he'd been abandoned by all of his friends rushed to see him at the train station in a moment that really worked for me this time. Meanwhile, Lynn broke things off with Two who is sorting his feelings for Un. Bone did the mature thing and supported Paan and Gab on their relationship journey.

Khai has come a long way. He is right that no one would believe him about Ching Ching, and it is frustrating to be trapped by your own reputation.

This conversation works really well because Khai is finally attuned to how Third feels. Third has never really wanted Khai to suffer (even if I did), and so Third visibly regrets how hard he pushed Khai away without asking any follow up questions.

"Today is not normal." Well look who finally learned how to talk.

Ep.12 My Dear

It is nice to see this friend group back in equilibrium.

Okay, I was not expecting the grilled chicken to be a whole quarter of a goddamn chicken on a stick.

I like this scene where Khai runs into Jam at the beach. He's always going to be nervous about his relationship history with women now that he knows how it impacted Third. Third also has to wonder what things will look like for him if they break up.

I like the UnTwo scene on its own, but I do think they are the weakest part of this show. I think they're meant to offer additional flavor on long-term pining, but they never really resonate with Khai and Third for me.

Oh, Third, I feel you on all your insecurities about Khai, but you came on this trip. Please try to enjoy it.

Third is so fascinating. It's like watching the second lead throw away victory constantly. I get him. Sometimes you get used to being lonely and hurting. Hope becomes scary because it is so uncertain.

"Khai, don't break my friend's heart." I love you, Two. White is one of my favorite OGs.

I do love how literally Khai is taking this list.

People love to queue. Very egalitarian of these girls to all go in for just one lick on Khai.

The commentary on the romance genre feels unintentional here. Het romance has done a number on queer people letting that inform their understanding. Third and Saengtai come from the same messed up place of thinking someone else should "just know" when these ones won't say what needs to be said.

We didn't think the lighting team because they're still working for this grand gesture.

The audience must be so confused. They can't read these cards.

I'm not personally one for grand gestures like this, but returning the Love, Actually presentation to Third was probably the best way to do this for him.

I'm actually getting so emotional about them starting a production company together and winning an international award together.

It feels right that even together, Khai has to still chase Third a little bit.

I think the core storytelling is actually very strong. I have my own hangups with Khai because I know so many guys like him, and I still question the intent of this story to present this ideal since the Khais of the world are not watching this show. Still, I actually like that this is a story about filmmakers and how the presentation of love has informed their own relationships. It's useful to talk about the romance genre itself and how it has informed romantic identity. I do think the show went a bit far in the Khai Sucks deep end and didn't necessarily pull out of it.

I'll reserve my revised verdict until I watch the special tomorrow, but I am generally feeling like this project is more worthwhile than I did in 2019, though I don't know that this was really written for gay people at all.

Physical & Mental Health Benefits of Traveling

According to recent research findings, tourism may soon be recognized as an intervention for dementia since it offers an experience comparable to cognitive stimulation treatments now in use. People often connect vacationing with feelings of revitalization and renewal, providing a much-needed escape from the pressures of day-to-day living. There is no denying that travel may provide one-of-a-kind, thrilling experiences: The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNTWO) said that a record number of 1.5 billion international tourists visited its sites in 2019. The number of tourists visiting Thailand increased from to 38.35 million people in 2018 and then 41 million in 2020 before Covid. Since easing travel rules surrounding COVID19, there is a growing interest in how travel can improve one’s mental health and serve as a sort of treatment.

Benefits of Travel

A stimulating experience may be had when travelling due to the many facets of the activity. Some examples of these facets are sightseeing, social activities, promote neurogenesis, increase production of stem cells and enhanced mobility for patients with arthritis. Because it has been shown that cognitive stimulation may both engage the brain and prevent cognitive loss, travel has emerged as an appealing alternative for treating dementia. This study was published in Tourism Management and came from a team of researchers from various disciplines at Edith Cowan University in Australia.

More than 57 million individuals all around the globe are living with dementia. Treating dementia has proven extremely difficult, even though it is the seventh most significant cause of mortality. The blood-brain barrier, which stops most treatments from reaching their intended target—the brain—and our poor knowledge of how the illness progresses significantly challenges the ability for a cure.

Traveling for Well-Being

There are currently knowledge gaps about the connection between medical tourism and the treatment of dementia. In addition to the conventional pharmacological therapies, the primary emphasis of medication administration, this investigation aims to fill in some of the blanks and investigate the possibility of travel as a therapy for brain injuries.

The lead researcher, Dr Jun Wen, from the School of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University, collaborated with a broad team of specialists spanning the tourism and medical disciplines to delve further into how tourism may provide possible health advantages for persons who have dementia, parkinson’s disease or recovering from stroke.

“Exercise, cognitive stimulation…and adjustments to a patient’s mealtimes and surroundings”

According to the research findings, travel intervention may provide various stimulating experiences, from cognitive to emotional to sensory. When combined with a standard medication regimen, travelling can also potentially eliminate brain fog, improve the quality of dementia treatment that is already available.

The group observed that going on vacation provides an experience similar to the standard treatment protocols suggested by specialists in the medical field.

Travel Boosts Happiness & Satisfaction

The group is confident that the viewpoint of tourism and its worth has significantly expanded beyond the superficial label of a holiday due to the influence that Covid-19 has had. Dr Wen has high expectations that something new would be able to be done to connect tourism and health research with the help of this study.

More in-depth study and data will need to be gathered to assess the full potential of tourism as an alternative medical intervention for overall wellness, mental illnesses such as dementia and depression.
