i'm begging you guys to start pirating shit from streaming platforms. there are so many websites where you can stream that shit for free, here's a quick HOW TO:

1) Search for: watch TITLE OF WORK free online

2) Scroll to the bottom of results. Click any of the "Complaint" links

3) You will be taken to a long list of links that were removed for copyright infringement. Use the 'find' function to search for the name of the show/movie you were originally searching for. You will get something like this (specifics removed because if you love an illegal streaming site you don't post its url on social media)

4) each of these links is to a website where you can stream shit for free. go to the individual websites and search for your show/movie. you might have to copy-paste a few before you find exactly what you're looking, but the whole process only takes a minute. the speed/quality is usually the same as on netflix/whatever, and they even have subtitles! (make sure to use an adblocker though, these sites are funded by annoying popups)

In conclusion, if you do this often enough you will start recognizing the most dependable websites, and you can just bookmark those instead. (note: this is completely separate from torrenting, which is also a beautiful thing but requires different software and a vpn)

you can also download the media in question (look for a "download" button built into the video window, or use a browser extension such as Video DownloadHelper.)

synergize mini update

first couple pages of synergize are illustrated/done. Not sure how long it will take for me to finish the first chapter since it's been a long time since I've done a comic, and those were released page by page, not chapter by chapter.

first two chapters of synergize have been nightmares to write, establishing the world, the characters, the basic lore, the main conflict/main plot while also trying to keep it toneally somewhat consistent with future chapters since this is a introduction and I dont want it to toneally clash to much with future chapter and give off a false impression of what synergize will be like. Beginnings are hard, but it's something I have to do to get to the plots/stories I actually want to write.

also, major thing, take everything posted on this blog with a huge grain of salt, the problem with writing, vs planning is things I originally thought would work, sometimes don't, or I come up with something better while writing, or dynamics change as I flesh them out more. I feel guilty for changing things I shared publicly, but as i writes things are bound to change hopefully for the better. The final say on what is truely canon is the comic. Many things on the blog are out of date or could possibly be changed in the future. (Mirage is no longer going to be a part of the starting cast, he's going to show up later, Smokescreen will fill his spot)

Hi people, I'm a bit fed up rn so just a short reminder that authors can see what you write in your bookmarks on AO3

And like I've recently been struggling with writing more than usual and had a bit of a dry-up in comments (which happens, fair enough, you don't have to like my fics enough to comment, etc) so I looked into the stats and bookmarks to cheer myself up/fight the imposter syndrome and had just been met with two separate users using their bookmark notes to not only rant about how horrible and not up to their standard my fic was, but also, in one case, to make some 'subtle' transphobic remarks about me, the author.

Both users are now blocked on my AO3 but if you're using bookmarks to rank your fics and didn't like something, please at least have the decency to make it a private bookmark if you're ranting about someone's writing skills or plot or just plain calling their fic stupid and bad

I've seen users putting fics (mine and other's) in bookmark collections called 'absolutely nope' or '0/10' or whatever, which is not nice but tolerable but recently I think people are getting a little too comfortable about being negative in a space that never asked them to be

Like most people, I write fic either for fun or as a form of self-indulgent expression and I share it because I think someone might also enjoy it or appreciate it. So many authors struggle with motivation as it is and I'm not an exception - yes, I write fics for myself primarily but I wouldn't be posting or writing them down if it was just for me, they could just stay as daydreams in my head and spare me the frustration the writing process and notes like the ones I've just mentioned bring.

To put it shortly, please remember AO3 authors can see your bookmarks and the notes/collections you use (unless you make them private) and that AO3 authors are human beings not souless content creators

Finished the Royal Centibytes, in both pre- and post-conversion flavors!

I thought court jesters would be a fun change of pace from king/queen or prince/princess- there's a precedent for royals to occasionally be things like heralds and war(?)horses, and I wanted to make a royalgirl who isn't a princess, noblewoman, or queen. I got to learn a little about some historical female court jesters while looking for references, which was cool!

I agonized for a while over whether I should put eyelashes on the one that I arbitrarily assigned 'Royalgirl', but ended up deciding that they look cute.

#i'm happy with these but i feel like the proportions got away from me a bit #i was so focused with getting clear and energetic poses that fit all the limbs in that i kind of lost their lankiness #i think its partially the struggle of working with something i designed in 2018 that doesn't fit well into a 150x150 box #the lenny is also tall and gets away with leaving a lot of negative space in its circle/happy poses while not losing clarity #but its head is less complicated to draw on a small scale; there's less detail to lose #i could try to fuck with more extreme perspectives to get things to fit without sacrificing the proportions. like g1 pokemon sprites #well. that's enough outta me #my art #centibytes #neopets #i'll update my webbed site with them in a bit; i wanna eat lunch
