Nizorro Blimp News channel 📹😠🥰
Written by: @tratieisdabest ★ @heroes-villains-side-blog ★ @just-a-space-rabbit
 ıllıllı ➎...➍...➌...➋...➊... ıllıllı
A studio logo and jingle quickly flashed on the screens at houses across the city, followed by a voice from overhead in the studio, "Welcome to Nizorro Blimp News withhh—" the voice cut off as the camera panned to two anchors dressed in semi-formals.
"—Dawn Sunshine and—" Dawn pointed towards her fellow anchor enthusiastically.
"Dima Grumple," the other finished monotonously.
The studio lights shone bright as the two came into view, their backs to a sunset view of the city. “Coming to you live from the news blimp, this is your eye in the sky—” the second one began, before being interrupted.
“—Wait, Dima, you didn't even say hello," Dawn then continued, "Hello, good afternoon, and hi!” Dawn smiled at the camera. Subconsciously, many at home and in the studio smiled back. Her smile always lit up the room, a clearly practised motion, but not in a fake way, simply as second nature from a life filled with happiness and cheer. She had quite a few smile lines from age and a life clearly filled with joy.
“...Yes…Hi.” Dima, the second anchor said, before she turned away from her co-worker, Dawn, and back to the camera. “Today is Friday, the fifth of August, and so marks the start of the weekend, but it also marks the end of the attempted search and recapture of the villain known as Vulcan.”
“Which is far too early to be giving up!” Dawn said. She didn't sound mad, just disappointed.
“Yes, indeed. After one full month, the Hero Agency has decided to drop the case and hand it over to the police. Vulcan was captured one month ago and escaped a total of 40 minutes later the same day. He was arrested for the crime of espionage and sabotage of the agency’s suit department—”
“— And," Dawn leaned forward dramatically, her smile already returned, butting into her fellow anchor's monologue, "for his crimes against fashion!”
Dima paused, her annoyance from the interruption overridden by confusion, “You…you mean crimes against our beloved heroes, right?” she asked.
“Well, that too, but no,” Dawn said, still smiling. “He made a fool out of them, yes, but, just like you said at lunch today, the REAL crime was those terrible handbags!"
“I…ahem!” Dima cleared her throat, her face slightly reddening at the reveal of her lunchtime comment. “Well, yes…anyway, don’t let his silly antics lull you into a false sense of security, folks. This is not a villain you can joke with.”
“Yes, because his jokes aren't good either!” Dawn added. Dima did not answer.
There was a slight pause during which the producer signalled that it was Dawn's turn to speak, having put her down for this part knowing what a huge fan she was of the particular villain.
Though the script didn't always matter much; the two anchors often had civil disagreements about the happenings in Nizorro, which the writers quickly learned had to be taken into account due to their limited time slot. The two were friendly, but due to their differing views of how much importance laws, and just rules in general, should carry (Dawn and Dima both cared, but Dawn was more willing to let things slide if the villain was adorable or the crime was more moral), the disagreements definitely came up enough to take up a big enough chunk of time that they had to be considered.
“In more interesting news,” Dawn paused, somehow brightening even more as she smiled into the camera, “earlier today, the adorable villain sidekick known as Hirra attempted another bank robbery! How exciting!”
“Do you hear yourself?” Dima said, now being the interrupter instead of the interruptee. “You're making it sound like she didn't commit a felony!”
Dawn ignored her and continued “Witnesses say she's just as cute in person! As you all know, I'm the president of the Hirra fan club, but I haven't been lucky enough to meet her in person…YET!”
Dima nearly dropped her studio cup upon hearing that, “I really hope you mean you've been lucky enough TO NOT BE A VICTIM of one of her many crimes!”
Dawn sighed sadly, “Yup, unlucky enough to not to be at the right place at the right time.”
“You are unbelievable sometimes…” Dima said, staring at her co-host just a little bit too long. “Ahem!” she turned back to the camera again. “Anyway, let's get back on track! We now have a live interview from the scene, with Masked Mender from the Hero Agency, who is part of the team tasked with this case. Mender! Welcome!” Dawn seemed to regain her focus as the hero sidekick came on screen.
Nervous from being put on the spot (despite having been informed in advance by the film crew), only a small “Hi, everybody,” fell out of her mouth. It was accompanied by a tiny uncomfortable wave towards the on-site camera as she eyed it awkwardly.
“Hello, hello! Mender! Now I have been dying to know,” Dawn leaned in, “what is Hirra’s favourite movie?”
Dima made an inaudible sound of shock right next to her, “Sunny! Please, focus!”
“Oh, yes, sorry. You're right!” she answered sheepishly. “Sorry, Mender, please tell us: what is the current situation with the bank robbery, did Hirra do good?”
It was clear on Dima's face that she did not like the words ‘did Hirra do good’.
But Mender answered Dawn before she could say anything. “Well, it wasn't really a bank robbery.”
“What do you mean by that?” Dima snapped back to the camera, making Mender startle a bit before continuing.
“Hirra only broke in to vandalise a painting of the bank owner…so, technically, it wasn't robbery. Well actually not even 'technically'," she paused to make air quotes around the word, "it wasn't a robbery; I mean, nothing was stolen and that's kind of the whole point of a robbery. So, no, I guess? She didn't do good at robbing the bank because she didn't…rob it." Mender stopped herself here, clearly embarrassed by her rambling, but the anchors didn't seem to mind.
The studio was quiet for a second, as the two anchors were taken aback by this update. “Why would she do that?” Dawn asked curiously.
“Well…” Mender started, before stopping again. She seemed like she’d rather not answer, but she sheepishly continued anyway.“You see, he…the bank owner did kind of call um…he called Mr Shadow Man a,” she looked at her notes, “‘A Scoundrel of a Sauce-Box’,” she looked back up, “so that might be connected to it. Because, y’know, Hirra and Mr Shadow Man work together and stuff.”
“So what’s the current plan to catch this criminal?” Dima asked.
“Oh, we are not going after the bank owner today!” Mender answered.
“Um…I was talking about Hirra…”
Mender’s face lost all colour when she realised what she had just said. “Oh! Em…well, it's not really like—”
“Hello, Blimp News. I think I’m going to take over the interview now,” said a new and much less nervous voice. It was Lady Alexandria. She looked calm and collected, and her natural smile easily calmed down the situation. Mender moved to the side to give the older hero the centre view of the camera as she took over the mic Mender had been holding.
“Yes, hello, Lady Alexandria, what an honour it is for you to join us live on air. Now, please tell us what the heroes will be doing in regards to this crime,” Dima said, smoothly accepting the transition but clearly impatient to know what was happening.
“Well, there seems to be no real damage done to the bank, as it was a clean in-and-out case. And there doesn’t seem to be any long-term damage to the panting either—”
“So she will not be punished? How lovely!” Dawn beamed.
“SUNNY!” Dima scolded, but Alexandria just laughed at Dawn's excitement.
“Yes, there is not really that much we can do, other than take notes.” At that, Alexandria nodded to Mender’s notepad, which she had been holding in case they had wanted more specific details. Those there with the duo could see that only a couple of pages were filled regarding the case; there really wasn't much to say.
“Well, thank you so much for the interview, Lady Alexandria! Oh, and thank you, Masked Mender!” Dawn waved towards the TV screen as the two heroes said their goodbyes, before the screen went black. “Oh, wasn't that a fun story?”
“Fun?” Dima was clearly annoyed. “Hirra BROKE INTO A BANK! And got away with it!”
“But she did not steal anything, and no one was hurt, apart from the bank owner’s feelings,” Dawn retorted, “and besides, wouldn’t you do the same if someone called someone you cared about a scoundrel of a sauce-box?”
Dima looked over at her co-host and sighed, “Well I don't know if I'd go so far as to break into a building and commit vandalisms, but I guess you sort of have a point this time…”
As the two got ready to continue to the next topic, they noticed that their producer seemed distracted and wasn’t giving the go-ahead.
“Steven? Is everything alright?” Dima asked.
Just then, an intern came in with two red folders and handed them over to Steven. ‘This is bad’ both reporters thought to themselves. Having worked here for so long they knew the cues, and everyone seemed concerned, distraught, or upset about something.
“I’m sorry, folks” Dawn said, breaking the silence as Dima frowned at the folder with concern, “We seem to be getting some breaking news…”
Dima got up to take the folder from Steven who gave the signal to go ahead. Sitting back down, Dima handed over a copy to Dawn, before she began to read aloud from her own folder. “After a two-week long search, the body that was found by the river last night has been confirmed to belong to Professor Egor Greggory Andaka,” she stopped as there was an audible gasp in the room, even Dawn was no longer smiling. She continued to read, “Professor Andaka was a teacher of Aura; his work involved combining Aura and machinery. He went missing two weeks ago after his office was found raided. His death is believed to be that of malice.
“There are still things we do not know. But the main thing that has both the government and the Hero Agency worried is that Professor Andaka was the current keeper of the Emanation And Growth Genesis, or E.G.G. as he called it. Both, what the E.G.G. is and what Professor Andaka was working on, is still classified information.”
The silence was deafening, as Dawn began to read now “The Nizorro Blimp News Station will be ending the show early today in his memory. Professor Egor Greggory Andaka was an inspiration to his students and his peers. He will be missed dearly.”
While Dawn usually did their signing off with the same level of enthusiasm as her intros, she was so distraught that Dima had to take over. She placed a comforting hand over her fellow anchor's own, and finished up for the two of them. "This is Dima and Dawn from Nizorro Blimp News, signing off."
The two waved, but they could be seen leaving before the cameras even stopped rolling, a stark contrast to their usual routine of staying a bit to talk about the news and bid the crew goodbye.

🌺 also this for Pyotr and Chyene
Waaaa cuuute!! Okay so-
🌺 Do they have any love interest(s)?
Pyotr has always kind of been a ladies man haha (Danila and Dima would always joke about it too "oh mr. popular" pfffft). But he would eventually end up on the enemies to lovers route with someone xDD They were another villain whose specialty was also machines and they'd both try really hard to sabotage each other's factories and labs, so one would be left the better evil engineer. But they'd always end up in a stalemate. All that time obsessing and focusing on each other would eventually lead to a mutual respect and FEELINGS for each other pfffft xD
Tumblr media
Pyotr would wind up marrying his long time nemesis in the end xDD The both of them work together and create even better and more powerful machines and gadgets for their clients to use.
And Mr. Chayne…. well, he had a love interest, but since Chayne's the lone cowboy type, he just "Knows it'll end up in tragedy or someone getting hurt", so he doesn't try to admit his feelings or he gave up trying oo; (the only time he's dramatic about something pfffft)

alrighty! roll up, roll up for the gripping sequel to the unused/unfinished dima lines post, the unused/unfinished far harbor nick lines post! all 84 [whoa!] of his unused lines can be found here, if you're interested, but here I've compiled some of the more interesting ones!
as per with the dima post, here's everything worth noting all wrapped up into one big audio file,
and here's everything transcribed for anyone who'd prefer to read:
"Eventually, yeah. Time's got a way of taking the sting out of something like this."
"Well, it's not so much him that I miss. I miss the idea that there was someone else like me out there."
"Rest in peace, brother"
"So, what did that make him? The dark hero, or the tragic villain?"
"It makes me wonder. If I didn't have Nick Valentine's personality to keep me on the straight and narrow, what would I be capable of? Probably best not to dwell on it."
"I've got to be honest, though, there's more to it than that. Now he's gone, and I'm back to being the one-of-a-kind. I don't mind saying it's a lonely feeling. Meeting DiMA, it was the first time I didn't feel like I was the only one of me out there."
"He did some pretty bad things for some pretty good reasons. I'm no stranger to shades of grey, but this is more… personal. What did you think about him? Good guy? Bad guy? Little of both?"
"Maybe this wouldn't be so tough if I didn't know what he did for me. DiMA was my brother, or as close as a synth can get. If it wasn't for him, there'd probably be nothing left of me but a pile of rusty parts in some Institute scrap heap."
"There's so much I wanted to ask him. So many questions I'll never have answered. Maybe he knew things about me, about when I was created, and about how I got out of the Institute. Maybe he even knew if there were more Synths like us out there somewhere."

Normal redesign for my magical girl au,
His design was probablly the easiest for me (excelt for hermie, taylor was third then link and scary). He got a lot of inspo from cheerleader outfits, teenie design, winx club, some deku from mha and starfire from teen titans. His knee braces say "S" and "D" for Saint Dimas btw. After the dance his powers stop working or just malfunction, as he is not insinc with them anymore, he has a lot of raw power but he ends up on the weaker side because of that (hermie is the weakest because he has no powers, then taylor because taylor, then link and scary). Idk if his "villain/angsty" outfit will ever appear but is sertainly something. Apart from his powers malfunctioning his outfit changes a bit and loses a lot of its sparkle, color and teenie influence, i think when he finally figures himself out he gets a really cool power up and a really fancy, sparkly new costume. This au operetes on superhero rules so nobody knows you are you when in costume (some people like mae, erika or hermie are unaffected by it but that is not common).

To Be or Not To Be?
"With heads showing Hermie's face, the thespian could pretend that those decisions were genuine, while the theatre mask for tails could excuse their more obviously villainous behavior. Little did their new 'friends' know that they were both just acts. Thank the theatre gods for this perfect role."
Five times Two-Face is forced to follow his coin's decision, and one time Herman makes one of their own.
10.3k words, oakworthy, 5+1 things, hermie pov, pining, set during ep17-20
prologue | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | +1
also on ao3!
🪙
As a method actor, Herman has found that the best way to be is not to be. To step into the role of another and follow their lines and actions, giving themself control by being controlled. It's easier, to pretend their actions aren't their own to make. They are merely a puppet on strings mindlessly dancing along a stage. Following a script, leaving things up to fate, taking away the responsibility of being a person from their own unreliable self and into the hands of the play they call life. Even if this leads them to danger (and lord knows it has), it's all part of the script anyway, so there's nothing they can do but "yes, and" whatever the narrative throws at them.
Before making the switch to their new school, Herman spent weeks preparing to become Hermie the Unworthy of San Dimas High (soon to be Teen High). They performed extensive research on the school and its students, particularly their mark, Normally Ly Oak-Swallows-Garcia, who appeared to be a near impossible mystery underneath the mask of Teeny the Teen (the thespian secretly aspired to be as deeply committed to a character as this kid appeared to be).
But even with their level of confidence when it comes to scheming and performing, Herman found it to be difficult to create a character all on their own. Coming up with traits and motivations that rivaled their own was a challenge; they almost wished they could simply switch places with an existing student and act just like them.
But then, it hit them. While scrolling through the official (but hardly official-looking, due to its godawful design, which for all the knew was probably designed by the mascot kid) then-San Dimas High website for the umpteenth time, they saw it. Auditions for the school play: Joker.
Now this had to be fate. They already knew they possessed incredible acting skills (as well as an extreme passion for DC that could explain the countless other tabs on their computer questioning about autism); all they needed was direction! They could enroll in the school, audition for the play, and know exactly how to be a true Teen High freak!
But alas, as Herman infiltrated the school and took on not one, but two new roles at once, it was admittedly a bit of a rough first act. They may be a talented actor, but pretending to be a character pretending to be another character is quite a challenge. How exactly were they supposed to balance the innocent background character's intentions with the star supervillain's intentions? They couldn't come across as too suspicious, as the school's rival, but they also couldn't fade entirely into the background if they were trying to get close to the school's beloved mascot.
...No, that's not right, Teeny wasn't beloved. This came as a disappointment, to see how little these freaks actually cared about the symbol of their entire community. Herman has never been never one for school spirit, so they understood their apathy, but it does certainly suck the fun out of things if nobody were to care about the treasure they plan to steal.
Well, not nobody necessarily. Upon investigation, Normally himself seemed to be the only person who really gave a shit about the mascot... or really, this school at all. Herman didn't know how to feel about that.
They didn't know how to feel about anything, as this Joker-Hermie! For example, he was definitely prepared for The Mascot Kid to have friends that he would have to make connections with (actually anticipating a larger group than this, but seeing as their mascot isn't exactly popular, to say the least, it was a foolish assumption), but he didn't expect trying to make a move on The Goth to feel so... strange, almost uncomfortable, in front of The Mascot Kid. Herman found it came more naturally to interact with Normally directly, even though they knew it made them look suspicious.
Sometimes this Hermie role actually feels more like a character study of their mark. Normally is just so... trusting, even as he's trying to be on alert for Chaparral. He makes it so easy, so fun for Herman to play with his head.
The thespian didn't like how they couldn't tell if the one having fun was the Joker, Hermie, or god forbid... themself. As much as they tried their best to put on a good show, they couldn't really decide when to make a "Joker move" or a "Hermie move". They needed to really solidify the role—and they tried to, they really did, as they donned the full suit and clown makeup, but after the Joker play was suddenly shut down, they were left with... just Hermie? They weren't entirely sure, but they did find something very un-Joker-like blooming inside of them when Normally showed such eagerness to hold hands with them during the Among Us play.
Needless to say, this was not working out for them.
This is why they believe their Two-Face coin prop is the greatest gift they could've received. With heads showing Hermie's face, the thespian could pretend that those decisions were genuine, while the drama mask for tails could excuse their more obviously villainous behavior. Little did their new "friends" know that they were both just acts. Thank the theatre gods for this perfect role.
As the hellish, molten-lava-esque pool of cheese melted away half of their silly old Joker outfit (along with their own flesh), they felt a part of their very soul burned away and shaped anew. It all became clear, their motivations finally solidifying into black and white. They weren't able to wrap their freshly traumatized mind around the fact that the process wasn't as physically paintul as it should've been, but they didn't care. They just couldn't help but feel grateful for this wondrous opportunity.
Until now, "Hermie the Unworthy" has been a laughable performance of theirs. A joke, if you will. But now, they can be what they were always meant to be: a true supervillain, a perfect amalgamation of good and evil.

Shen Qingqiu is an unreliable narrator. This is a well known fact by the Scum Villain fanbase. But while his self-brainwashing and deflections are well known, what is less well known is exactly who he is behind the lies he tells himself.
I'm going to be analysing Shen Qingqiu in multiple parts! The names of the parts are below, and I'll link to each part when I post it.
Part One: Loving The Protagonist! …Or His Halo?
(A Dive into his repression, and how he may be less oblivious then he appears)
Part Two: Unlike The Original Goods-
(How similar is Shen Qingqiu to Shen Jiu? How often does Shen Qingqiu use Shen Jiu as a shield for his true emotions?)
Part Three: Grandmaster of Self-Brainwashing
(Shen Qingqiu’s lies to himself, and why he tells them)
Part Four: "I'll Gladly Endure it"
(Shen Qingqiu does accept himself. Eventually)
(May possibly do more parts!)

A tired and monotone voice spoke "Welcome to Nizorro Blimp News with Dawn and Dima." The usual studio logo and jingle quickly flashed on the screens, before cutting to a pan of the anchors on the blimp.
“Coming to you live from the news blimp, this is your eye in the sky…” Dima started but quickly stopped, looking over confused at their co-host. “Dawn?”
“Oh... um… Hello, goodmoring, and hi...” Dawn said in a sleepy and exhausted tone.
“Yes, folks, as you can see it’s been a long night in the news blimp,” Dima said, trying to sound like her normal self. “This is the 8 o'clock morning news.”
Dima braced herself so she could calmly deliver the next words, “First off, an update on the Masked Mender case. It has now been a full 12 hours since the disappearance of the hero sidekick, The Masked Mender. Mender went missing during their patrol last evening. Her last known location was close to Monument Street at 19:37, where she reported that she had begun the tracking of known villain, The Shadow Man, who is still the main suspect in this case.” Dima looked over at her unusually quiet co-host; she could tell that Dawn was clearly worried.
“All available heroes are still out searching, but there has been no official update from the agency. However there has been a rumour that Lady Alexandria has gotten in contact with Hirra, Masked Mender’s long-time rival and Shadow Man’s very own sidekick. No one knows if the rumours are true, or what it means if they are, but we can only hope for the best. And we will update you all as soon as we can…”

“Get a move on!” the henchman yelled as he dragged Mender out of the small cell and in among the group. Mender, confused and scared, still tried her best to get an overview of the situation. But as soon as she and Shadows were out the door they were both blinded by sharp spotlights.
The last they saw was a glimpse of Dragonfly who had begun to fly around the room, while his men cheered him on.
Mender let out a small yelp in pain as the henchman suddenly made a hard tug on her shoulder. She wasn't sure if the henchman was doing it on purpose, as her entire body was beginning to feel sensitive from the powers suppressing cuffs draining her healing powers.
After another push, she and Shadows fell forward, landing on their knees in the middle of the room. There was a wince from Shadows as he hit the floor next to her, clearly still in pain from the beating earlier. The cheering only grew louder and, looking around, it seemed that Dragonfly had gathered every henchman he had to the old warehouse they were in. Clearly, Dragonfly wanted to make a show out of whatever he was planning.
Then, all the cheering stopped as Dragonfly landed in front of the two captives. The atmosphere was thick as he smirked down at them. Suddenly, he yelled “Tie these two up!”
The people on the floor above them cheered as the group below swarmed Mender and Shadows. The henchmen made quick work of the two despite them trying to get loose from all the ropes binding them in place.
“Hoist them up!” Dragonfly yelled, now from above them.
Mender's stomach made a jump as she lost touch with the ground. Normally, she wouldn't mind, as she often lept from building to building, but when it was by someone else's will, it was unnerving. Shadows, however, still had his quips, it seemed, “Really? Dangling over a pit? You’re just as unoriginal a villain as you were a hero!” he yelled as they came to a halt, hanging together in mid air.
“Bold words from someone at my mercy. Besides, it's not unoriginal, it's a classic!” Dragonfly answered smugly.
It was only now that Mender noticed that the power suppressing cuffs had finally been taken off, not that it was of much help to either of them now. They were both exhausted from the after effects; Shadows couldn't use his shadow-teleportation abilities, and Mender's body was ever so slowly healing itself. There was no chance either of them could escape that way, and it seemed neither had a backup plan.
“Classic? Ha!” Shadows laughed.
This confused Mender, ‘How can he laugh at this?’ she thought.
“So you like classic? What's next, then, Grandpa?” he mocked. “Gonna bind Mender to the railroad? Or bring out the shark tank? Ooh, or maybe piranhas, which is stupid by the way. Most can't even hurt humans. But, hey, you're too dumb to know tha–"
“Shut it!” Dragonfly snapped. “I’m only doing it as it’s needed to demonstrate the true power of the most dangerous weapon ever created!” Dragonfly tried to sound threatening, but he was clearly still salty from the insults.
“What do you even stand to gain from this?” Mender asked, before yelling  “Besides making an enemy out of everyone – both heroes and villains!”
“Because, little one,” Dragonfly snickered, as he flew close to Mender’s face, “You can’t have fame without enemies!”
“Of course, you can!” Shadow said, kicking in the air to make him and Mender rotate so he faced Dragonfly. “You just need time and discipline. Two things you sorely lack!”
“I do have both time and discipline!” Dragonfly snapped back at Shadows. “Do you really think it was easy to track down Professor Andaka? NO! It took months of hard work!”
“Professor Andaka?” Mender thought out loud. “Wait, it was you who kidnapped and killed Professor Andaka?! Why? What could you possibly stand to gain from that?” she said as the dots were now forming in her head. They still weren't connecting though. But Dragonfly just chuckled darkly, sending shivers up Mender's spine.
“Ah, yes. Almost forgot that you were a hero sidekick. With the way Shadows seems to protect you, one would almost think that you were his kid instead. Bet you heard a thing or two about good old Andaka and the Emanation and Growth Genesis, the last few weeks” he smirked at Mender’s face that was now filled with horror – clearly she did, she knew exactly what was about to happen to them.
He continued. “Professor Andaka, was a weak fool for not understanding the gift given to him.”
“Professor Andaka was a better man than you’ll ever be!” Shadows yelled, far angrier than Mender had ever heard him before. Ane if she could've seen him, she would've noticed his watery eyes.
“Oof, touchy subject there? Forgot that you actually looked up to that old fool.” Dragonfly said mockingly as he flew further away from the two captives. “Not my fault he never succeeded, all I did was take what he started and bring it over the finish line! Now, let’s show it to them!” he yelled at the engineers below.
On cue, the tall curtains opened up, finally revealing the corruption of Andaka’s dream. Shadow looked horrified. “In the notebook of that old coot,” Dragonfly began monologuing, “he talked about the struggle to suppress the E.G.G.'s powers. When activated, it would drain any and all Aura out of a person, leaving nothing but a petrified statue, but for some reason, he seemed to think that it was a problem. I disagree. It was never and will never be a tool because it’s a weapon! And I am not a coward for being willing to use it!”
“Only a coward would resort to killing unless absolutely necessary! You are an evil excuse for a person!” Mender yelled and while she couldn't see it, Shadows gave a small smile at that one. But Dragonfly ignored her as he signalled the engineers, who all began the activation process.
“I wonder who will be brave enough to call me a coward when I become the most powerful and famous villain in the world! And what a start to my legacy: to be known as the villain who finally defeated the legendary Shadow Wraith!”
“Sir, we are ready to go in 120 seconds!” the main engineer called out.
“Start the countdown,” Dragonfly ordered back before turning to the other two. “Shame how the little hero fledgeling ended up mixed up in all this.” He said in a mocking tone “I don’t need a healer right now, and the ransom that the agency is willing to pay for the return of a sidekick is just not worth the work. So, off she goes. But it’s nothing personal, just villain business.”
“That’s not true!” Mender yelled, but before she could continue, Dragonfly had already soared out of range. She felt her heart pound against her chest as all the henchmen began chanting along with the numbers. Then in all the panic, she suddenly felt a hand.
“Hey…” Shadows said in a soft voice as he grabbed her other hand.
“Are monsters good at maths?” he asked.
“What?” Mender replied, confused.
“Not unless you Count Dracula…”
Mender’s panic seemed to subside a little, replaced with confusion. ‘Egging on a villain with the power to end you is one thing, but now he’s making maths jokes?!’
60 seconds... 59 seconds... 58 seconds...
“Sorry” He said after some silence, “force of habit… I always joke with Hirra in stressful or dangerous situations… helps calm her nerves. Also, I’m not giving Dragonfly any more attention. So yeah…”
“I see...” Mender answered, thinking a bit before asking, “um… do you have any more jokes?”
Mender was not sure, but she could almost feel Shadows smiling as he began, “Who’s the king of the pencil case?”
42 seconds… 41 seconds… 40 seconds...
“I don’t know? Who’s the king of the pencil case?”
“The ruler.” Shadow said, smiling as he felt Mender begin to relax.
Then there was a sudden “Hey, what are you doing! You're supposed to be crying about the fact that you’re about to DIE!” Dragonfly yelled as he noticed that neither of them were focusing on the situation.
35 seconds... 34 seconds… 33 seconds…
But before he was able to take Mender’s concentration Shadow started again louder this time “What’s the smartest kind of tree? A geomeTREE!” At that Mender gave a small giggle; geometry had been her favourite kind of math in high school.
So… when Dragonfly yelled “STOP!”...
Of course, he did one more.
“Do you know why seven eight nine?”
“Why?”
19 seconds… 18 seconds… 17 seconds…
“Because you’re supposed to eat three square meals a day!”
He knew he had her, as Mender began laughing out loud. And the angry yelling from Dragonfly became an incoherent mess. “ARRRR!!! Shut up! STOP LAUGHING!!! YOU LITTLE—”
3 seconds… 2 seconds… 1 second…
The entire building shook and smoke filled the room. For a few seconds, Mender thought she had truly died as the shock wave hit her and Shadows, sending them swinging backwards in full force. As Mender's ears were finally able to hear again, the first thing she was greeted with was a loud scream “NOOOOOOO! My weapon!” turning around Mender saw Dragonfly land by the rubble of what was once his master weapon.
Mender looked down in shock as the engineers shakily got back on their feet “What happened?” one of them asked.
“The idiot probably built it wrong,” Shadows said smugly. There was still smoke coming from the machine and people were running about everywhere. The two looked down at Dragonfly as he tried to get a grip on what happened.
Then, there was suddenly another loud bang coming from one of the walls of the base! “Oh, great! It's really my day!” Dragonfly cried as he jumped into the air and began to soar. All eyes shot upwards just in time for someone to break through.
“Alexandria!” Mender and Shadows beamed when Lady Alexandria came into view.
“And Hirra too!” Hirra yelled, smiling, as she appeared from behind Lady Alexandria with her favourite sword in her hand.
“You brought Hirra? Here?” Shadows' look of gratefulness was replaced by a deadly glare. Lady Alexandria was unfazed though.
“Sorry, but she just wouldn't take no for an answer!” she said, shrugging. Before turning her focus to Dragonfly who had moved up all the way to Shadows and Mender “You better have a good explanation for this!” she yelled out to him.
“What, I am just trying to deal with two trespassers, nothing out of the ordinary,” Dragonfly waved dismissively. “And I guess now I have more pests to deal with.”
Suddenly, he signalled to his guards, who began charging at them. They were quick, but Alexandria was quicker. Wasting no time, she grabbed her famous shield and tossed it at full speed towards Dragonfly who went down with a bang at the other side of the room.
Then, just before the henchmen was about to reach them both, she grabbed onto Hirra and tossed her into the air towards Mender and Shadows. Soaring through the air, she cut through the main rope in one slice. The only thing Hirra heard as she continued in her forward momentum was Mender screaming as she fell backward on top of Shadows after he fell to the ground first with a loud thud.
But Hirra had no time to check on them, as she landed on the boxes next to the now grounded Dragonfly, who barely just got the nearly 40 kg shield off of him.
They both locked eye contact with each other.
Hirra may be smaller than Dragonfly, but she was clearly capable, and the other villain wasn't unaware. Dragonfly gulped almost cartoonishly when he realised Hirra was about to go for him.
“Not so brave now without your henchmen, are you?!” Hirra snarled as Dragonfly finally tossed the shield off him and got up.
“Isn't it past your bedtime or something?” he said, trying to regain composure as Hirras eyes practically lit up with rage.
“You tried to hurt them! I won't let you get away with this!” She pounced forward and began to move to attack him but Dragonfly was too fast.
The attack was quick, and in one swift moment Hirra fell back several feet and landed on the floor, while Dragonfly started to bolt past her to the exit.
Scrambling to get back up on her feet in time, Hirra turned towards Dragonfly who was nearing the exit, and in one continuous motion she created a small knife and tossed it towards him, before she fell back down. What followed was a loud ear-piercing scream as one of Dragonfly’s wings fell off, but that didn’t stop him from running.
The last Hirra heard of him was an angry “I’ll get you for this!”
Hirra sat in shock looking at the fallen wing before she remembered. Looking back to where Shadows and Mender had fallen, the anger in her face shifted to worry, a single whisper slipped her, “Dad…?”
While Hirra had dealt with Dragonfly, Lady Alexandria had made quick work of all of his men. They seemed to take the hint after she easily picked one of them up and tossed them at a whole group, sending them all to the floor. There was full chaos, as they all began to flee out the same hole that she had made only minutes prior.
Meanwhile, down in the pit, Mender had gotten loose from all the tangled ropes, then she had dragged a barely moving Shadows away from the centre to hide, before trying her best to heal him.
One by one, Mender used what little energy and power she had available to heal all his broken bones. Even with the gentlest touch she could give, Shadows still winced in pain as the area began to glow. After going over both feet that had broken in the fall, she made sure Shadows did not have any critical damage, then she stopped.
“I’m sorry, I can’t heal you any more than-” she began, but he interrupted her.
“Don’t apologise! Thank you! And don’t worry, I have a healer friend that can patch me up when I get home.”
Mender just nodded in response. There was a sudden silence between the two, as all the fighting around them began to calm down.
“Sorry that I got you into this,” Shadow said, breaking the silence. “I… I should have noticed you. This is all my fault.”
Mender only looked at him curiously.
“You’re getting good at sneaking though” he continued. “I had no idea you were following me,” he chuckled, only to regret it immediately as pain overcame him.
There was a sudden yell from above as Hirra jumped down and ran to them both. “Dad- uh.. S-Shadows!”
“Hirra! There you are!” Shadows smiled as she sat down next to him.
“Is he going to be alright?” she asked, looking over to Mender.
Mender sat down on the other side of Shadows and answered in a tired voice “I have done everything I can.”
“Don't worry, Dagger,” Shadows said, trying to be cheerful. “I’m in a little pain, but I’ll be fine. Mender healed me as best she could with the little energy she had to give.”
Hirra just nodded, as she made a little sniffle while holding back tears. She was silent for a moment before finally speaking “I… I cut one of Dragonfly’s wings off” she said in a tone of mixed feelings.
“Did you? So that was what that scream was?” Shadows asked her, holding her hand.
“Didn’t mean to cut it off, I just… I’m sorry”
“Don’t worry, Hirra!” said a calm voice. “He loses them all the time, he doesn't even feel pain. Dragonfly is just dramatic like that.” Lady Alexandria smiled and joined them. “He’ll probably grow a new one by next month.”
“My lady. I was wondering where you got off to.” Shadows said, smiling. His earlier anger about Hirra being allowed there was put aside.
“I was securing the area, and giving the signal to the search team.” Alexandria answered, kneeling next to Mender, “Are you alright?”
“Yes, I’m not badly hurt,” Mender replied, “and right now, I just feel tired.”
Alexandria nodded, and was just about to say something when Hirra chimed in, “Bet you feel lucky though? That we were able to get here in time!” she smiled, seeming to have finally gotten over the wing incident.
Both Shadows and Mender answer together “Um… Actually, you weren’t here in time…”
“WHAT!?” was all that Hirra was able to say. After all that effort they had still been too late to… well Hirra wasn't really sure but it sounded like she and Lady Alexandria had missed something.
Mender continued, telling both her and Lady Alexandria about Dragonfly and the E.G.G. and how the weapon got destroyed, and Shadows explained what Dragonfly had admitted about Andaka. Meanwhile Hirra just sat silently and held onto Shadows’ hand, while Lady Alexandria listened silently to every word; clearly there was more to learn of the situation than what time would allow. Finally, when they were coming to the end of it, there was a sudden sound from Lady Alexandria's work phone.
After looking at it for a moment she turned to the group. “The area is about to be secured, Shadows if you can make it out of here on your own, then now is the best time to leave. The hero agency will deal with the rest of Dragonfly’s base.”
“So, you’re letting us go?” he asked suspiciously.
“Yes,” she said smiling, “since Hirra was so kind and heroic in helping us free you, I think it would be wrong to arrest you both right now.”
“Oi! Don’t call me that!” Hirra yelled, but both Lady Alexandria and Shadows ignored her.
“Yeah, I got enough energy to get us home, thank you!” he said, smiling back at her. He slowly got back on his feet, and with support from Hirra, they began to walk into the shadows.
"Wait!" Mender cried out.
They stopped and Shadows turned with a look of concern on his face. "Is something wrong?"
Mender bit her lip and then spoke, "No, just… Do you know which king loved fractions?"
Shadows paused, confused, and then smiled. "No, I don't, which one?"
Mender giggled to herself and then replied, "Henry the eighth!"
Shadows burst into laughter that then turned into coughing and then turned to the shadows once more. As he walked into the shadows, he called "Good one, kid!" before disappearing with Hirra.
Lady Alexandria then gently picks up Mender who now was completely exhausted, up in a bridal carry. She was confused about the exchange that just happened, but would ask when Mender was less exhausted.
“Hey, Alexandria, did you find the E.G.G.?” Mender asked
“I did not see it in the rubble but please leave that for now and rest. I’ll get you out of here and hand you over to the healers.”
“I wonder where the E.G.G. is now, it can’t have been destroyed?” Mender continued in a meek and sleepy tone.
“Mender, please, less wondering, more resting, okay? We will deal with everything when-” She stopped in her tracks, eyes locked in place.
“What is it?”
Alexandria stood still for some more time before she spoke again “Kim… I think I saw Kim beside the ruins of the weapon for a second, but when I looked back, they were gone…”
Mender, whose abilities seemed to make it easier to counter Kim’s, looked over to the spot Alexandria mentioned and began searching but… “I can’t see them…”
“Well, if it was them,” Lady Alexandria said “then we at least know who it was that sabotaged the weapon. And…”
“And? And what?”
Lady Alexandria turned to look at Mender. “There is no way the E.G.G. is still here.”
And at that, the echo of several heroes yelling Mender and Alexandria’s names began to fill the now abandoned base. Lady Alexandria called out to them.
Meanwhile, Kim tossed off their lab coat and easily snuck past the incoming heroes. The E.G.G. and some other objects were securely hidden away on them.

Alright here are some of my fallout hot takes:
Deacon x MacCready is weird/gross, not founded in canon, and borderline pedophilic if you think about the most likely age difference and how a lot of people headcanon Deacon as the lone wanderer.
People being into Kent the ghoul weirds me out because of how child-like he is. Same goes for Curie, she’s literally born sexy yesterday and has the basic social knowledge of a child. It’s really messed up to try to romance her and her dialogue even shows how confused and somewhat uncomfortable she is.
People being super into Maxson feels the same to me as people being super into Vulpes. They are both pretty unattractive, openly and horrifically fascist/violent bigots/genocidal/literally pure evil, and being very into them is weird when there are so many other non-horrific options to choose from.
On that note, in anyway liking the Legion and the people in it is so fucked up like actually why.
DiMA is the literal worst and we just forgive it because he is some pretty clear queer representation.
MacCready in fallout 4 is written VERY poorly.
Porter Gage is pretty damn evil and while I don’t begrudge people for liking him I feel like a lot of people forget that he isn’t a good or normal person.
Piper is actually a really well written and well developed character and just because one of her articles was not written well in game does not mean that she is a bad reporter. She’s a very underrated character in the fandom.
I have a bunch of other opinions that are not very popular but here are the most spicy ones.
I’ll be responding to each one best as I can, if I agree, disagree or in the middle of it. These takes are really interesting and should be talked about more in my eyes. And I also ask what you guys think on each take. Do you agree, disagree or in the middle of it?
Personally, I haven’t seen much relating to the ship of Deacon and Mac in a romantic way. (I have seen more friendship and dynamic duo stuff) I can understand it’s a bit weird considering that Mac is (I believe) 22 in the timeline of Fallout 4. Considering we don’t know of Deacon’s real age (I believe he might be in his late 20’s early 30’s if we ignore the headcanon of him being the lone wander) we’re unsure of the real age gap between the two. So I don’t super agree that the ship in a romantic light could be considered pedophilic as they are both adults in Fallout 4 HOWEVER if we consider the headcanon of Deacon being the Lone Warner, I can understand where you’re coming from as the two met when Mac was 12 (making Deacon 19 and thus 29 in Fallout 4) But I also the ask the question, would it be a similar situation if the Sole Survive romances, Mac, as it appears that Sole is at least in their 30’s?
I agree with this for the most part! I never really though about people being attracted to Kent like that as I he’s not a big part of my playing experiences. With Curie, I always found it weird when flirting with her for the first time as she has no idea what’s really going on as she is a literal roboto before. She seems more of child when comes to the real world. And also I find the romatic/flirting interactions with Curie kind of… cringe to say the least.
I understand this as I personally hate Maxson and how he thinks and speaks, but I can get inside of someone who loves a good villain. I’m not too familiar with Vulpes so I can’t say too much. If Maxon wasn’t a complet asshole towrads synths and ghoul and LITERALLY MAKES SOLE TO KILL DANSE CAUSE OF IT, and he was more sympathic, I think he’d be more attractive. I get that people can be attractive to villains, but… Maxon? Like I don’t care how great of a coat and beard you got bro, you’re a little shit head. I think people just ignore all of that when they simp for him.
I personally haven’t played New Vegas in so long, so I can’t say much about it.
This one, I disagree on, but can understand why this can be the case. DiMA, I believe is genuinely symathic to what he has done and actuall cares about causing peace for his people as well as everyone in Far Harbor. Personally, I am a DiMA lover so I might be bias on this front, but I do think he is a good person with a bad past and I do agree that some of the things he has done are a little shady, but overall I think he wants peace and the best for Far Harbor. Also side note, I’ll only play the main quest of Far Harbor with Nick Valintine.
I agree, and it sucks as he is a reacurring character from Fallout 3, I wish we could expand on his relation with his wife and son, maybe even meeting his son in the game after his quest line. This goes with a lot of characters in Fallout 4 and that is my biggest issue with the game. There are so much amazing things they could have done.
I think the reason for why people like him is why some like Maxson, they like a good villain. Personally I like Gage more then Maxon as he’s fun to run away with and not as annoying then Maxon is to me.
I don’t run around much with Piper, but what I have seen feels like a real person to me. She has a lot of personality to her and her backstory seems well rounded, but I do think their is some things that I wish was expanded on with her character, and this can just me be, like her relationship with her sister. I for sure think the fandom needs to give Piper more love.
Anyways, that is my response to each hot take! Send it your and I’ll tell you my thoughts on them <3

That latest post with the mad science fam got me thinking: how well does mad science pay the bills? On one hand, cool new inventions and doohickeys probably sell for a lot if you find the right buyer, but on the other, how much do people want to be associated with mad science inventions? Is it like theatre, where only a select few (IE: the greatest mad scientist in the world) make a profit?
All of thiiiis yeees! ^^^^
I haven't said much about the 'world lore'/setting of my story (I don't wanna give too too much away until I start posting the comic), but you nailed a part of it (reputation plays a big part for sure)! I'll say one way they can make money is work for hire from other villains/mad scientists.
Dima's brother Pyotr is a good example. He's a machine builder/inventor/engineer, and if a fellow villain or mad scientist needs a giant death ray or something, he'll construct it for them at a price. It keeps the factory/lab running haha xD
On the other hand though, how Chayne made his money was blatant stealing/robbery ^^;
Sunny made funds by throwing education events with his giant bug creations (he's a good boy pffft)
There's a few other ways, but each mad scientist has there own style ^^

Kenji: You're back, but Kasumi isn't with you? Cat: Mister Nakano. Kasumi isn't coming home. She's staying with the synths up North. Kenji: What? I hired you to find her, to bring her back safely! You left her there?
- i mean, she is a grown ass adult, but i see his point. he’s not ready for his kid to leave.
Cat: I did everything I could to make sure she was safe, Kenji. She'll be fine. Kenji: You're sure? It's just... all this nonsense about her being a synth. She doesn't still think she's one of them, does she? Cat: Does it matter, Kenji? She's staying. She has people there she cares about. Kenji: So Rei was right. Kasumi needed to make her own life. Away from us. I guess I... just didn't want to believe she had grown up. That she was going to leave me.
- ...oh, motherfuck. there’s a link to Shaun here. how i didn’t want to believe he’d genuinely become the villain, the head of the Institute with no hope of me talking him out of it. i guess that might be the intended lesson here - kids make their own decisions, but they’re not the only ones who have to live with them.
Kenji: There's one last thing you and I need to discuss. Your reward. My daughter might not be coming home, but at least she's safe.
- dude, no. don’t reward me for what i just did. don’t.
Kenji: We don't have much to offer, but my father traveled the Commonwealth. He had quite a collection before he died. I buried it all near the house. I'm not the explorer he was. I don't need them. I think they would be better with you.
- i can't take his reward. between DiMA, Kasumi, those poor unpleasant idiots stuck in the Vault forever... i left the Island cleaner than i found it, but i sure as hell got dirtier in the process. i don't deserve praise for a job half done and messily too.
Cat: You don't need to do that. You keep your father's collection for your family. Kenji: Thank you. Perhaps we'll need it someday. God knows plenty has happened to us already... Now, if you'll excuse me, it's... been a long day.
- you’re telling me.
Rei: I'm glad my daughter has found a place where she can make her future. Thank you for making sure she's safe.
- these guys’ll be fine. and hey, they’ve got their boat back. it’s not like they can’t visit.
Nick: In this line of work, you have to expect the unexpected. Still, I've got to admit, I've never had a case quite like Kasumi's. Cat: Really? Never? Nick: Well, there was that time I got hired by someone who'd been frozen in a Vault for 200 years. That one's been a doozy so far... I wonder how Kasumi is gonna do up in Acadia? That place has some big ideals in a world of cruel realism.
- which is exactly why we’re gonna help them out. the Railroad needs someplace it can send synths for safety, and Acadia needs resources and aid. now that we’ve all found each other, we can stand together and make each other stronger.
Nick: Well, the case is closed. Sometimes that's all you can really say.
- :(
- fast traveled back to Nick's office
Ellie: You're back. How'd everything go with the Nakano case? Cat: I tracked Kenji's daughter to a synth refuge up north near Far Harbor. She's made a life there. She ended up deciding to stay. Ellie: I can relate. I left home pretty young, and look at the low-lifes I've ended up with... Thanks for coming in for this one. I knew something good was happening when you and Nick started working together. Don't be a stranger, gumshoe. Nick: If I didn't know better, I'd say you're giving our friend here all the credit... Ellie: Just keeping you on your toes, Nick.
- and Nick’s not alone either. he’ll be alright. i hope.
