In honour of my gift-to-self graduation present eyeba nyc ring, here's what I think TMA characters would go for (in a world where these are not the price they are lol) I tried not to base it on my hc eye colours. Feel free to request any characters you'd like to see!!

Jon: Brown mini gold stud — complements his skin/hair/eye colour as well as a lot of the colours he regularly wears e.g. the green jumper that we're all guilty of picturing him in, a smart white shirt with navy stripes, a brown tweed blazer. Also small and easy to hide behind his hair given how concerned he is with professionalism and academic appearance.

Martin: Thick silver band blue mini — I think he'd pick the thick band because the thin would disappear on his big hands, also he'd think it looked more masc. Goes for cool tones to fit with his wardrobe which he wears because he thinks it makes him look less flushed and flustered. Friendly, romantic look to the eye as well.

Tim: Gold twist mini brown eye - complements his skin tone and his warm toned wardrobe. Enjoys the whimsical twist and would find bigger sizes a distraction.

Sasha: Classic dark brown eye silver pendant - goes with all her usual silver jewellery and dark blue cardigan/skirt. I picked this one because of how little character development she got, leaving her a mostly blank slate to be projected onto and the expression in this eye could be interpreted any way. Is it serious? Is it friendly? Does it know what lies in wait for it?

Basira: Thick band mini dark brown eye - I think she'd get this in gold so it was more subtle and complementary to her skin tone. It's not there to make a statement like the bigger flashier ones that would get in her way. No nonsense, straight ahead stare.

Daisy: Blue classic silver - I don't think she's much of a jewellery person, but rather than go for something subtle, she'd go for one that would make a punch sting more. I picked this one because the details in the eye look like she's been using it like this - the iris bleeding into the pupil, "scratches" on the glass and blood in the corners.

Melanie: Dark blue classic silver - can't explain this one much beyond vibes lads. Something to do with the iris filling so much, you'd have to be close to make out the eye much as you have to be close to Melanie before you see the real her I think.

Georgie: Hazel king - think she'd prefer gold. Catlike quality to it and gazing past the wearer into the unseen, the paranormal.

Gerry: Grey silver Dali - very close to his own eyes, holding the same kindness and weariness.

Gertrude: Blue mini silver - thin band. I think it would secretly please her that people think it's just a delicate quirky ring worn by a frail old woman with startlingly similar eyes but she Knows what it represents. She knows.

• I want to be back on ice again – craving of rekindling the passion I had during my tender years of being a figure skater or if not, be able to ice skate on a regular basis during my days off. I miss the sound of the blades gliding through ice and how it is like music in my ears.

• New sport & hobby – I never imagined myself trying a new sport that is considered both leisure and luxury back home in the Philippines. Up to this day, I am still curious and eager to try getting into golf next year.

• Skydive Dubai – always been in the list! I really want to try skydiving in Dubai savouring the picturesque view of Palm Jumeirah!

• Cappadocia – the thought of walking and appreciating of such magical place in Turkey, I remember when I went to this hot air balloon music fest I told myself, “the next time I will be seeing hot air balloon will be in Cappadocia”. Manifesting this one as a birthday gift to myself.

• MALDIVES! – this one isn’t really hard to make it happen. Bidding a flight to Maldives is no sweat. I just wish by then I am already on my dream body.

• Staying fit & active – promised myself to start being active and live mindfully for my overall health & wellbeing. Knowing that being in this field of work costs my physical and mental health so much, I am really trying my best to find the balance between work and life.

A New Uniform - Veronica Beard Dickey Jacket

Where does the time go? It’s not quite Halloween and everywhere I look, I see holiday…decor, gift guides, and food! As a blogger, these things have been on my mind for a little while now, but it still sneaks up…Christmas is in 63 days!

It’s become a tradition for my daughters and me to go to New York every year for their Christmas gift and last night we booked our hotel. There is no place like NYC to shop for the holidays and I can’t wait! This is a trip we look forward to for the whole year! This year, we are staying at 11 Howard because we had a not-so-great experience with our hotel last year because we waited until too late to book and I wanted to make sure it didn’t happen again! 11 Howard is in Soho so we’ll be exploring that neighborhood…shopping and EATING, which is always the best part!

I’ve written about and linked Veronica Beard pieces many times on this blog and continue to love them! My new Veronica Beard purchase for fall is this camel blazer with a denim dickey zipped in. The addition of a dickey make the blazers so much more versatile and so much more comfortable because you don’t have the bulk of a blouse or sweater. I’m wearing a thin white tank underneath this blazer and it’s perfect. I’ve paired the blazer with leather pants from last season (these are keep forever pants) and my Golden Goose sneakers (less expensive here) that took me all over Paris! I didn’t jump on the sneaker bandwagon for a while, but now I’m definitely a fan of sneakers! Of course, this outfit would be amazing with booties or even a pair of pumps, but for everyday comfort, sneakers are the best!

I can’t stress enough how excited I am that I got a question about my punk!Aziraphale costume on Tiktok because it brought to light how disconnected the commercialized version of Punk is from how punk was when I was younger (which was when the commercialization started). 

“Is the teddy bear pin really punk?” 

So I bought Aziraphale, for my cosplay, a small vintage angel bear pin and I did a little video on it and someone asked me about that. 

(Side note: This is JUST my headcanon, okay, I’m not the motherfucking lorax, I don’t speak for the trees.)

To me, the bear pin is punk because I say it is, and I make the rules for my costume. I set the criteria for that character that I’m playing, and the only reference I had was how I experienced punk as a kid. When I was younger, before the internet was a household thing, the closest Hot Topic was over an hour from my house, so my options were limited. Not to mention I was really poor and on the chunky side in the days when we REALLY didn’t have clothing for fat people. So I had to rely pretty heavily on DIY, Rave Inspiration and thrift stores to get my point across. 

We were all super poor kids in a really small town with one Rescue Mission thrift store. So there was kind of a collective subconscious decision to lean into the irony of things. Can’t afford Tripp NYC pants? (Or, can’t get to hottopic to get them?) Sew some patches on your jeans and call it a day. A couple of senior misfit/punk types decided that wearing goodwill tee shirts with random names or weird charity slogans on it was punk, so I thought that yellow vintage Maryland lottery tee was the punkest shit ever. That leather blazer went with me everywhere. 

So yeah, it never occurred to me that a beige blazer and an angel teddy bear pin worn ironically wouldn’t be considered punk as fuck. Because it’s an art and a mindset and a joke, it’s not only black and it’s not only skulls. It was art and obscure facts and music you’re passionate about. It’s having fun with how you express yourself. 

TLDR, I guess, is that if I hadn’t been trying to be punk in a small town in the late 90′s-early aughts, I wouldn’t be sewing 90% of my wardrobe and I would be miserable.

• Boston or NYC

• An apartment decorated with all kinds of flora

• A wardrobe of minimalistic clothing items e.g. trench coat, blazer, white tshirt, dark wash blue jeans, high heeled boots

• Adopting a cat and maybe a dog as well

• financially stable and successfully running my own business; after my first job at 16, I made a promise to myself that I will never work for anyone. It’s probably not realistic at the moment, but it is my dream.

• teach pole dancing

• write articles for a news publication and hopefully win a Pulitzer (or get killed by the CIA—a journalist’s highest honor lmao)

• pay off all student loans

• work on Wall Street

• peacefully sipping coffee at a brick-and-mortar coffee where I’m a regular at while I do work on my laptop

• a boyfriend is nice to have, but not necessary
